1. Introduction (1000)
**********************************

"Somewhere between life and death, there lies a city of ghosts and goblins. It's
a city that appears every 13 years. When its evil dwellers thirst for a living
soul."
Katherine: "Help me... I am being held prisoner in the basement of white manor.
To make matters worse, my soul has been stolen! Free me and help me get to Ghost
City! I have to get my soul back before it's too late!"

The opening scene pretty much sums up the plot for the game. You play as some
random person trying to guide Katherine into Ghoul City. On the way, she will
encounter different enemies and possessed objects. You must protect Katherine
and help her regain her soul back. You will be traveling through different
haunted locations and fighting different bosses. Are you up for the challenge?!

2. Game Mechanics (2000)
**********************************
Laser Ghost is a sidescrolling that requires the use of either the lightgun or
SMS controller to play the game with. I prefer the lightgun though as it is
easier to shoot at the enemies on the screen. The basic rundown of Laser Ghost
is that you play as some unknown character and must help a little girl named
Katherine to get her soul back. Katherine must travel through six different
locations that are filled with ghouls and possessed objects. It is your job
to shoot at the enemies before they harm Katherine.
Katherine will have a total of six hearts. Everytime an enemy attacks her, she
will lose one heart. Additional hearts can be gained in each level by shooting
at random objects. When she runs out of hearts, however, she will be taken to a
GAME OVER screen. The more hearts the player has at the end of the level, the
more points that will be awarded (which is discussed below.)
To complete each level, you must guide her successfully to the opposite end of
the level. There will be a bar at the bottom of the screen to indicate the prog-
ress of how far Katherine must travel. The objjective is to reach the opposite
side of the bar. Along the way, there will be enemies that will stop her from
proceeding, most of which are boss fights. Katherine will also have a 3:00 min-
ute time limit to reach the opposite side before she gets a GAME OVER.
You are awarded points for every enemy that is killed. The number of points
that is awarded depends on the enemy killed. Bosses and tougher enemies will net
you more points. You will also be rewarded points at the end of each level based
on your permance by each category below:

3. Walkthrough (3000)
**********************************
This is the walkthrough section of the game. Below I have listed the 7 stages
that you will visit along the way to Ghoul City. As mentioned above, the only
way to complete a level is to reach the end of the level in the given time lim-
it. Each section contains a gener- al overview of each level. Each level also
contains a boss fight (some contain multiple boss fights!) that I will try and
make an own section for. Now onto the main part of the game!

3.1 Chapter 1 - Ghoul Manor (3001)
############################################
You are inside the dungeon of Ghoul Manor, where you meet the little girl Kath-
erine, who you must guide to the end of the dungeon. Along the way in the dung-
eon, you will notice cracks in the wall where you can aim your crosshair at and
shoot the wall out. By doing this, you will gain extra hearts and bonus points.
When you start the level, you will be attacked by a flock of bats from behind &
in front. Shoot the bats so they don't fly into Katherine. You will then come
across a door that you must shoot to proceed to the next section.
You will come across three more cracks in the wall, and another flock of bats
that will cause the candles to go out, which will make the screen dark for a few
seconds. After the bats, you will come across another door you can shoot at to
open. Inside the room, there will be various treasure chests that you can shoot
at to gain more points and hearts. After you collect all the treasure, you will
engage in your first boss fight!

Boss #1: Possessed Suits of Armor
Katherine will walk in front of four suits of armor. All of a sudden the suits
of armor will come to life! Be prepare to attack the suits of armor that will
charge at Heather. If one of the armors hit her, she will lose one heart. After
you shoot at the suits of armor a couple of times, the screen will black out and
you will be returned to the dungeon.

You will return back to the dungeon like before. The screen will turn black on
and off again. Shoot the cracks in the walls to pick up more hearts that you
loss from the previous encounter with the suits of armor. When the screen turns
back to normal again, you will notice these stone pillars shooting down from the
ceiling. Just ignore them as they will not harm Katherine at all. Katherine will
then walk up a set of stairs, which will signify the end of the level.

3.2 Chapter 2 - The Haunted Portrait (3002)
############################################
You are now on the ground floor of the mansion. This will will scroll to the
left this time, unline most levels in the game. The main thing to watch out for
in this level is the portraits on the wall. When Heather walks by one of them,
they will dismount from the wall and start bouncing at her. Shoot at them to get
rid of them. Also, try shooting at the windows along the way to gain more hearts
and bonus points. Right as the level starts, Katherine will walk pass a portrait
that will come alive and attack her from behind. Shoot at it before it hits her.
As she proceeds on, becareful of the bats that come out of the window in front
of her. Shoot them before they hit her.
Continue along. and Katherine will come across three portraits and two vases.
Shoot at the vases first before they attack Katherine, then shoot at the three
pictures that are bouncing at her. Make sure none of the portraits hit her from
behind. You will then come across more windows and a table and chair. Shoot at
the table and chair for more hearts, and Katherine will come across more poss-
essed cases and portraits. Shoot them before they have a chance to attack Kath-
erine. Now comes the tricky part of the level. You will come across a long line
of portraits on the wall, along with more tables and chairs. Shoot at the table
and chairs first before they become possessed, then shoot at the portraits bef-
ore they reach Katherine. This will keep going on until Heather walks into a
different screen. Now time for a creepy boss fight!

Boss #2: Haunted Portrait
This boss fight will be more difficult than the previous one against the suits
of armor As soon as Katherine walks into the room, flames will start jumping out
of the fireplace. Shoot at them before they have a chance to hit Katherine.
While shooting at the flames, you will notice that the portrait over the fire-
place will start to freak out. Eventually, the portrait will dismount from the
wall and try to attack Katherine. This is your opportunity to shoot at it while
it is dislodged. While shooting at it, try avoiding the flames that will spout
out of the fireplace. Repeat this process several times until you defeat the
portrait.

3.3 Chapter 3 - Demon Woods (3003)

Now its time for a new setting! This time you will be in the woods instead of
being normal. This screen in this level will return back to the normal direction
like the first level. Anyways, you will encounter a lot of tomb stones in this
level that you can shoot at for extra points and hearts, so keep a look out for
them. The beginning of the level will start off slowly with nothing but tomb-
stones and goblins attack from the side of the screen. They are quick in attack-
ing, but are easy to dispatch. About thirty seconds into the level, you will
come across a bush with a bunch of cherries. This part is really tricky if you
are not fast with the light gun. The cherries on the bushes will start jumping
at Katherine as soon as they past her. At the same time, a group of bats will be
swooping towards her from the right side of the screen. Its not unusual to lose
a heart or two here.
After the bush of cherries, you will come across more bats. Shoot at them like
before, and Katherine will walk into a new screen. You will come across a row
of tombstones. Shoot at them and collect as much hearts as possible, because you
are about to enter the next boss battle!

Boss #3: Zombies
This boss battle is more annoying then hard. You will be fighting a group of
zombies in this boss battle. The zombies will attack Katherine by walking tow-
ards her and attacking her with their swipes. Shoot at the zombies to get them
away from her. However, when you shoot the zombies, their heads will pop off and
fly towards Heather. Shoot at the zombies head to eliminate them quickly. As the
boss battle progresses, more zombies will appear to attack Katherine. The trick
is to dispatch a couple of zombies at first, then shoot at their heads to elim-
inate them. Don't shoot all the zombies at once, or else their heads will start
flying at Katherine at once. Once all the zombies are eliminated, then you will
proceed to the next level!

3.4 Chapter 4 - The Sinister Swamp (3004)
############################################
You are now out of the woods and in the swamp! Right at the start of the level,
you will notice a relection in the water spitting water drops into the air.
Shoot at these water drops before they hit Katherine, as they will cause damage
to her. You canno eliminate the faces in the water, so there is no reason to
bother shooting at them. Just keep shooting at the water drops until you appr-
oach the dry land. Right when you reach the grassy area. a couple of ghouls from
the side of the screen will fly towards Katherine. Shoot at them to defeat them
before they hurt Katherine. Becareful of the ones that will come from behind
the screen to attack her.
You will then come to a bushfull of demonic berries. They will attack Katherine
all at once, so shoot at them fast before they hurt her. Katherine will then
walk into a new screen with tombstones in front of her. Shoot at them to collect
a few hearts and bonus points. You will then come across the boss of the level!

Boss #4: Demonic Hands
In my opinion, this boss is a joke. It is basically a pair of two large hands
that try to attack Katherine. The trick to this boss fight is to shoot the hands
while Katherine walks pass them. Doing this will cause the hands to retract and
not attack Katherine. Keep doing this while Heather walks back and forth in
front of them. After a few shots, these hands will disappear. Seriously, that's
all the boss fight was. I never took any damage the three or four playthroughs I
did with this game.

After defeating that terrible excuse for a boss, Katherine will come across more
tombstones and bats. Shoot the bats to get rid of them, and collect the extra
hearts and bonus points from the tombstone. After discarding the bats, you will
come across the HANDS AGAIN! The producers must have want to prolong the level
or something because the hands are the same as the last encounter. Dispatch
these worthless pair of hands using the strategy above, and finally get out of
this awful level!

3.5 Chapter 5 - The City of Terror (3005)
############################################
Just a side note for this level. Like the previous level, Katherine will come
across the boss in this level four different times. Instead of making a separate
section for each fight, I will just post the strategy for the first fight and
note the other times that the boss will appear, since they all use the same
strategy.
Okay, fianlly we are in a new setting. This time you will be walking in the
[abandon] streets of the city of terror. To gain extra hearts and bonus points
in this level, you must shoot the windows out in the building. Right away a
group of bats will attack Katherine. Use one of your special bullets to dispatch
all of them. More bats will be flying out of the doorway of the bulding to
attack her from behind. Come across another doorway with a purple building and
shoot at the bats that are coming out of the entrance again. Katherine will then
stop for a few moments and then a car will start driving towards her from behind
Shoot at the car to dispatch it, and then another car will speed towards her
from the other side of the screen. Once you dispatch all the cars, you will come
across more windows that you can shoot at to gain extra hearts. While you are
doin this though, becareful of the cars that come from behind and try to hit
Katherine. Keep going and do the same thing and watch out from cars in the back,
and bats in the front, and collect any hearts that you come across at the same
time.
Katherine will then stop to debris falling from the sky. Shoot at the debri so
it won't hit her, and watch out for cars from the sides at the same time. Keep
walking and you will come across the boss fight.

Boss #5: Possessed Car
You might not consider this a boss fight, but I do since they are a significant
part of the level. You will come across four of these cars in total. Katherine
will walk in front of a normal looking purple car in the alley when all of a
sudden the car will come to life! The car will apprach Katherine and charge at
her. Shoot at it before it hits her, although I don't think its possible to
avoid getting hit by the car when it comes to life. The car will then fly into
the air and start diving towards Katherine. Start shooting at the car while it
approaches Katherine to drive it away. Do this several times until you see that
the car is damaged and beat up, which then the boss fight will end. This strat-
egy can be used for all the possessed cars.

After defeating the first POSSESSED CAR, shoot at the window on the left to col-
lect a heart if you haven't done so already. Katherine will continue to the
right and come across more windows and bats flying out of a door. She will then
come across another POSSESSED CAR. Defeat it the same way as above, and Kath-
erine will proceed to the right like usual. Shoot more windows to collect more
heart, and you will come across two more POSSESSED CARS. Eliminate both of these
cars, and the level will end once Katherine reaches the entrance to the hotel.

3.6 Chapter 6 - Beyond Horror Hotel (3006)
############################################
This is technically the last level of the game, since the last chapter is bas-
ically a boss fight. This level is also longer than the other levels in this
game, so you want to keep an eye on the time. Try defeating the enemies in this
level faster than usual because you will need every second!
You will walk by the check-in desk of the hotel, where these cyclop-like crea-
tures will be firing their eyeballs at you. Ignore firing at the cyclops and
shoot their eyes they are throwing at you. As soon as you get past the desk, a
purple goblin will fly at you from behind, so prepare to shoot at it before it
damages you. Keep proceeding on and shoot at the purple goblins that come out
from the sides before they harm you. Katherine will then enter an elevator,
which will take her to the next floor.
Now you will be on the second floor of the hotel. This is where the level gets
annoying. As soon as you past the door, a hanging corpse will fall from the
ceiling and attack Katherine. While this could be considered the boss of the
level, but I felt that they were too simple and too many of them to warrant
their own sections. The trick to defeating the hanging corpse is to shoot their
body. Like the zombie boss from earlier, the hanging corpse will take multiple
shots to destroy. I counted four shots in total. While shooting at him, he will
shoot this vomit-like substance from his mouth. Shoot at this projectile before
it hits Katherine. It is imperative that you destroy these corpses as soon as
possible, as they are one of the reasons for the time consumption in this level.
Keep proceeding and you will notice a pattern. After every door you pass, a
hanging corpse will fall down from the ceiling. Shoot these corpse like the last
ones to proceed on. Once you defeat about two or three of these corpse, she will
proceed onto the next level of the hotel in the elevator. The next couple of
floors will follow the same pattern until you get to the fourth floor, which is
the floor that has green walls. The fourth floor is the final floor of the hotel
and it contains about 4-5 hanging corpses. Along the corpses, there are various
goblins flying from the side of the screen that you want to avoid. Once you
reach the end of the fourth floor, then you will be taken to the boss fight!

3.7 Chapter 7 - The Final Chapter (3007)

Here it is, the final boss fight of the game. This boss battle can be hard for
the first few times. It took me about 3-4 playthroughs to beat this boss since
it is so random. You are basically in an empty bedroom with a mattress in the
center of it. At the start of the level, you will notice faces on the wall spit-
ting some type of poison at Katherine. The trick to this level is to TRY AND
SHOOT AS MANY FACES ON THE WALL AS POSSIBLE! You only need to shoot at the faces
one time each. After the faces on the wall disappear, the mattress in the middle
of the floor will reveal the Poltergeist. The mattress will then levitate off
the floor and start flying at Katherine.
YOU CANNOT HARM THE POLTERGEIST ON THE MATTRESS! The poltergeist will fly toward
Katherine and try to damage her with the bed. When he hits her with the bed, she
will lose two hearts. That means you can take three hits total before Katherine
dies. The random part of this boss fight is that sometimes the boss will kill
Katherine on the first time, while other times she lets him live. I can never
figure out how she lives certain times and dies other times. IF YOU KNOW A WAY
TO AVOID THE POLTERGEIST THEN PLEASE EMAIL ME!. If you do manage to survive the
first time, then you will get another shot at the faces on the wall. This time
you must destroy all the faces, as he Poltergeist will kill Katherine the second
time you fail to destroy them.
Once you destroy the Poltergeist, you will get Katherine's soul back and finally
complete Laser Ghost!
