This took advantage of the "Sega Card" and "Sega Cartridge" format ,which means it as 32K ram. Here's some introductory Info to F-16: You are about to take control of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the most advanced jet fighter in the world(I wonder if thats still true). In this carefully crafted simulation, your mission is to seek and destroy enemy aircraft and to remain airborne as long as possible. This is a really cool game. Checkout the screenshots for SC 3000 at game the Info in the F-16 Section in GAMEFAQS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-16 Fighting Falcon Starting the Game ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. The Controls. You need to use 2 control pads (Or Quickshot Flight pad) for it to work properly. Here is a list of controls. Note: You may think I'm copying the manual here. I'm not! I'm Just showing you the controls and that Using 2 Control Pads Controller 1 D Pad -->:Turns the Plane over and over to the Right: Loses Altitude <--:Turns the Plane over and over to the Left: Loses Altitude Up: Descending Down Ascending Button 1 Selection of Weapon: Missile, 20mm Gun. If you only have one SMS pad then find a another one or throw away the game! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-16 Fighting Falcon Your View From the TV Screen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You see a control panel and the view of the land in front of you. If a MIG 22 is near you, you see a gray figure that is the aeroplane (Red when you've shot it down, White when ????). You also see your planes speed, compass and pressure on the screen. The control panel is pretty hard to explain as I do have a picture of it but I can't put it on notepad so I'll tell you the things by explaining them. E-mail me if you have in problems with this. 1. Speed Indicator: Your F-16's speed. Ranges from 0miles (0km) to 1450miles (2333km) approx. mach 2 (I'm not a pilot I just find out this stuff!!). The dot on next to it shows the actual speed you're traveling. 2. Compass: Shows the direction your traveling. North is 0 and 360 Degrees, east 90 Degrees, South 180 degrees and west 270 degrees. Hopefully you understand what I'm saying :) 3. Pressure Altimeter: If the pressure is Too high, The Plane Will Explode and you must eject. 4. Weapon: Shows what weapon and the amount of it left. Example Missile = M2 (2 is the amount of it left and 320 equals the amount of ammo left in the gun. 5. Explosion Time: This means the number of seconds (Not real time) left before the missile explodes. It normally starts at 165 and goes down in increments of 10. It also goes faster if lock on's off and slower if lock on is centered to the enemy. 6. Pilot Mode: Changes from manual to autopilot. Autopilot means auto pilot. Everything is done for you except for the shooting. Manual means you have to do everything (much harder). 7. Ready and Change: When the weapon selected is ready for usage the word "ready" is displayed on the bar. When you shoot the word "change" is displayed, which means that you cannot use weapons until the last weapon as finished firing. 8. Kind Of weapon being used: This will tell you which weapon is selected for firing. It shows either "Missiles" or "20mm Gun" 9. SC: This Shows how many points you've scored in the currant game. Example SC: 00040 10. WRN: This means warning. This tells you that the enemy fires a missile at you (They have like 100 and we have 2!). This flashes and makes a beep when the enemy fires (That Sucked Didn't it?) 11. EJT (Ejection): This lights up when you're shot and cannot recover. Emergency ejection ends the game and scores you points. 12. ECM: The electronic countermeasures are used to block and annoy :) the enemies missile pursuit. 13. FUL (Fuel): This shows the amount of fuel left. Be sure to conserve the fuel by not using the accelerating or afterburning features often. 14. Look Down: There is no function for this display. 15. R (Range): This shows what range the enemy is in. 16. A (Altitude): This shows the altitude of the enemy is at (in units of 1000ft). 17.I(Intercept): This shows the intercept angle to the enemy. 18.S(Speed): Shows the enemies speed in Miles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-16 Fighting Falcon Describing When Its Dangerous ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section features when to eject or when to get ready for game over. Noises and Screens This shows the different sounds and screens that appear when you've been shot down 1. A #Cling, Cling# Sound Effect is heard: This means that the Fighter is been hit with the 20mm gun. If you or shot at 9 times then you've been shot down. You have a chance to eject when you've been shot 9 times. 2. The Entire Screen is red. A Ding.... Ding noise is heard: Moving the fighter is almost impossible. The player has around 10 seconds to eject. 3. Upper half of the screen is red and a crashing noise is heard: The fighter has been destroyed. You cannot eject. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-16 Fighting Falcon Shooting Down the MIG-25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section focuses on the main point of the game: To shoot down the enemy in the time provided. Using the Missiles To Shoot Down the Enemy. To shoot down the enemy you have to have the lock on settings correct and have autopilot on for missiles. Shoot the missile when you are ready. Move the lock on around the plane so you can shoot it. Look at the seconds left indicator on the screen. One it reaches 60, start directly aiming for the plane. It may take 2 missiles to shoot down one plane. Using the 20mm Gun To shoot it Down. This is a little bit harder but once you have done it once, you will keep on doing it. First, select the gun instead of the missiles. Turn the Pilot mode to manual and get your guns ready. The lock on will come up and the usually green lock on circle will turn red when you can shoot it. As usual, it takes 9 gunshots to shoot it down. When the lock on circle turns red, start shooting the hell out of it. there is a large chance you've shot it down! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-16 Fighting Falcon Levels And Differences ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are ten levels in this game and they're all different in their own way.
