Shining Wisdom Walkthrough - Sega Saturn Written by Magnus Andersson, in August 2000 E-mail: rubens.barrichello@swipnet.se http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/8867 ---------- This document is split into four parts: 1. About this walkthrough 2. The story behind the game 3. Item list 4. Walkthrough ---------- 1. About this walkthrough This document is the walkthrough to Shining Wisdom for Sega Saturn. It does not cover 100% of all secret and items, but this walkthrough is enough for you, to play through the game from the beginning to the end. You may spread and copy this walkthrough in any way you like, and you may also upload it anywhere on Internet without my permission. But you are not allowed to make any changes to the walkthrough, and you may not sell it for own profit. Thanks to Casey "Slick" Lane and Brian "Lynx" Hunt at Workingdesigns for giving me a helping hand to find some of the items. Please forgive me if I wrote wrong, if I somewhere wrote "right", where I ment "left", and the other way around. I learned the words wrong for a long time in school (English is not my home language), and I still mix the words up. And please also forgive me for grammar and spelling mistakes. If there is something in the walkthrough that simply doesn´t make any sense, then please read on, and maybe you will understand later. You can also send me an e-mail and ask. :) A great *thank you* goes to my girlfriend, Maringa Mikic. Without her help, I wouldn´t had been able to write this walkthrough. Love ya, my own princess! :) ----------- 2. The story behind the game In this game, you play as the young lad "Mars" (default name, but it can be changed), in the land of Palacia. Your new life begins tomorrow, as a guard for the king of Odegan. You have already a good reputation, because your father was Sir Jiles, who killed the dragon who once terrorized the Odegan Kingdom. Your parents are now dead, and you were adopted, and live with your grandparents since 10 years, and your grandfather is a good friend to the king´s advisor, Sir Kaizel, and some people are saying that the reason that you were chosen as a guard only is because of the friendship between Sir Kaizel and your grandfather. Now it is up to you to prove that you are a man with the right abilities. The night before you are going to the city, you are having a nightmare. You see four scary creatures, hovering in the air, scaring two men, one of them sitting on a throne. Then, you see a young woman in her bed, and the four creatures once again. The creatures are holding out their hands and the woman is showered with light. She collapses and falls back, and the creatures vanish. The nightmare is over. Your grandmother wakes you up. You have overslept, and must hurry to the castle, where your new life is just about to begin... ----------- 3. Walkthrough The beginning and the City of Odegan ------------------------------------ The game begins with that your grandmother wakes you up, and helps you to get prepared for your first day at work. Before you leave, your grandfather wants to test your acceleration skill, which is the only attacking skill you have, if you don´t have any weapon equipped. To make this attack, press the B-button as fast as possible over and over again, til that you see that the acceleration bar shows number four. When you are on level four, keep the button pressed, and bump into your grandfather. You can now leave and head for the castle. First of all, equip the sword and the medical herbs from the menu (press START-button to access the menu). Exit south. You will find yourself in a great forest, and the way to Odegan Castle is easy to find, you simply have to go west (there will be a sign on your way). Don´t explore the forest yet, you have time to do that later. After reaching the city, simply go up (talk to the people if you like), and listen to the fortune teller (or the witch, whatever she is). When that´s done, you can look around in the city. There is an inn, where you can sleep for 10 gold coins, to get your health completely restored. However, you can´t use the inn for the very moment, but you will be able later on. There is also a church, where you can save the game (like in the other Shining-games). There is also a shop, where you can buy record books, healing herbs, and Angel´s wings. You started the game with 200 gold coins, so you should buy some more healing herbs. Two record books and two Angel´s wings are also a good thing to buy (it is always a good idea to carry a few record book and wings when you are about to enter a new labyrinth), but I leave that decision to you. When you are done in the city, go the left part of the castle, and enter. As you are inside the castle, go a little bit up, and right, and you will see the advisor, Sir Kaizel, and another black man (his name is Kaipa). Answer whatever you like to the question, (the outcome will be the same anyway). You will be introduced to your new partner, Alfred. After some talk, you can have a look around in the castle. When you are done, go up from the room where you met Alfred, and go upstairs, to the bedroom. Get into the empty bed, and sleep til that your night-shift begins. In the next scene, you and Alfred are guarding the left side of the castle, and Alfred is very tired. Answer anything you like to his questions, the outcome will be the same in any case (The only difference is that Alfred replies something else). Alfred falls asleep, and suddenly, a digging creature appeares. He goes into crypt. Follow him inside. In here, simply follow him upwards. Go down in the first staircase. You will find the first blue diamond. Go up again, and use your accelration skill to run north-east (the floor will break behind you, so run quickly). Go up to the top left corner to find a treasure chest with a healing herb. Go down into the sandy passage, and go downstairs. You will see the man again. Go a little bit to the right, build up your speed, and run up and right in the pasageway, where the floor looks a bit "broken". Be careful to not fall down in the holes. If you fall down, go upstairs again. Keep going, and go downstairs. You will reach a new room with lava. Go right and up, and walk around the lava, and get the chest, with the Vigilance Spall. Now get back outside, either by using an angel´s wing, or by walking back. When the first floor breaks, simply fall down, and go upstairs to the left. Go down to the other staircase, go through the sandy passage way, on the other floor that breaks (go upstairs again), then down-right to exit. When you are outside, it is morning again. Go up to Alfred. When the guards show up, and Alfred says that nothing happened during the night, confirm that by saying "yes". You can of course say "no", but if you say that, then you eventually have to say "yes", in other case, the game will not continue. Now, find your way to the king. It is a bit tricky to find the way in the castle, because everyone is blocking the ways in an idiotic way. But there are at least no enemies. :) If you find your bedroom, go down, then right, then up. You will now have a talk with the king. There will be a question for you, and it works again, like with other question above. After the talk, go back to your bedroom, and sleep. If you want to buy any items, or save the game in the church, you can do that first. It is night again, and your duty this night is to protect princess Satera. After some talking with chancellor, Alfred will ask you take a look around. Go inside the door, and through the stairs to the princess´ room. If you go down, you will see that a woman is sleeping like a rock on the floor. Get back outside. The green creature, who you saw from the intro (his name is Banbo) shows up. You will lie down on the ground (pretending to be asleep). Banbo will call out the princess, and will take her away. Now you must head after him! And that´s not easy, because you have to find your way through the castle, and again, everyone is lying in your way, blocking the ways. It is a bit tricky to find the way out. Go down, then left, then up (you are now in the room where the king is sleeping), then downstairs to the throne room. Follow the red carpet down, and take the staircase down to the right. Go outside (go south-east a couple of steps). Outside, go up. It looks like that the roof is blocking the way, but it doesn´t. Go inside in the up right corner, right through the next room and outside. Outside, go east to the river, up and over the bridge. There is only one way (almost) to go, so just keep going til that you reach the Royal Crypt. On the way, you will maybe see a red diamond which you can´t reach. You don´t have to think about that now, you will get it later. Royal Crypt ----------- First of all, go right to the room with big ugly mouths on the floor. Go through this room as well, and go up in the next room, to a room with spikes on the floor. Try to go down to the other room on the right side. The best way to go there without being hurt too much by the spikes is to try switching the down button. Run as quickly as you can, and if you get hurt, press B-button again as quickly as you can, so that you can get further. Go down to the room below, and pick up the treasure, the Angel´s Wing. Now, go back to the beginning again, and this time walk up the room. In the middle, two white statues are blocking the way. To get rid of these, go into the left room and push the statue, and then to the right room and push the right statue (pushing one statue should be enough). Go up, then right, and right through the next room with a chest. Walk around the mouths in the next room and get the treasure, a healing herb. Go back the room above the two blocking statues, and continue left this time. Go downstairs in the room with the rolling floors and the mouths. Go down, and push the statue to the right. Go upstairs again, and go left. Go down in the next room, and get over to the left side in the next bigger room with mouths and rolling floors. Go downstairs and pick up the next treasure, stone shoes. Go upstairs again, and go up through the room with mouths and rolling floors. Continue up as far as possible, and go left. Equip the stone shoes. Pick up speed to level 5, press agains the wooden block, and press C to kick it. Go down and collect a blue daimond. Now, go the entire way back (you might need to kick the wooden block again) to the place where you found the first chest, the Angel´s Wing (read above). Stand in the middle row on the stone floor. Equip the stone shoes, and make a normal jump, by simply pressing C. The floor will break. In the room below, kick the wooden block with the stone shoes, and go up, then left. Push both statues to the wall. When you have done this, continue up, kick the wooden block, and go upstairs. Go back to the beginning of the crypt, and go into the down left room, and downstairs. Kick the wooden block, and continue on your way, there is only one way to go. All white status should have moved by now. Go downstairs. Here, you will see the four creatures from the intro. You will now fight Banbo. Fighting him is easy, just watch out for his iceballs, and strike him when he is standing on the ground. He goes down after five hits. Karry, the blue woman, transforms into the princess, and the princess is transformed into a swan. When the talk is over, get back out of the crypt, either by walking out, or using an Angel´s Wing. As you walk out, you will see that it is morning again. Go back to the castle and talk (or rather, listen. You don´t speak a word in the game (like in the most other Shining-games). I wonder if Mars is mute?) to the king in the throne room. Of course, he believes that Karry is the real princess. The king orders you to go to Gudo Valley and meet a fairy there. You will get a grey key, so that you can get into the valley. You are also supposed to go to Gudo Valley, but your main reason is to find and save the *real princess*. But before you go to Gudo Valley, sleep in the city, buy items (if you like) and save the game. Gudo Valley is located north of the city of Odegan. To reach the valley, go first south over the bridge, then east and then northeast. You will see a sign saying "Beyond this point is Gudo Valley, Beware of wild animals!". Keep going up here, and continue to the valley (there is mainly only one way to go). Gudo Valley ----------- Inside the valley, Mars will automatically use the key to open the door, all you have to do is to walk up to it, you don´t need to have the key equipped. The same goes for all other keys and doors in the game. In the valley, first go right til that you see a stone plate on the floor. Go up here a short distance and go left as far as possible, and down, and go downstairs. Go down again, and you will find a chest with a healing herb. Go up/right as far as possible, and you will find a blue diamond. Now get back to the beginning, to the first stone floor, and go as far as possible to the right. You can break through the stone floors with the stone shoes. In this area, there are five stone floor plates. Smash the second one from right. You will fall down a level. On the down level, stay on the plattform. Walk upwards and upstairs. Go left. You will see that the floor above you is weak, so you need to run over it quickly. Pick up your speed to maximum, then start running over. It is a bit tricky, because there are also holes in the ground, and some ghosts are blocking the way. If you get hit a single time, you will fall down, and then you have to go upstairs and try again. Remember where the ghosts are, they are always at the same place, so you can make a technique about how to get over. On the other side, there is a stone floor plate. Break through it. On the level below, you will find the Slide boots. Exit the valley. If you prefer to walk out, instead of using an Angel´s Wing, then fall down from the plattform, go down as far as possible, and go upstairs. Touch the black switch (simply walk into it) and walk over the bridge that appears. It will only be up for a moment, so walk over it immediately. There is a sign on the bridge, but you don´t have to pay any attention to that for the very moment. You will take care of that later. After crossing the bridge, go down as far as possible, then left and then down to exit. Now you need another item, and it is hidden in the Mystic Forest. To reach the Mystic Forest, go to the place where you saw the sign about Gudo Valley (read above). From this point, go west, and then north. You will find another sign here. Continue north and then west to enter the Mystic Forest. Mystic Forest ------------- Equip the slide boots, and use these to get through the logs (press against the log and press the C-button), and find your way to the very south-west corner. There are several ways going southwest, but the very south-west corner has a log which leads to a new section in south direction. Finding it shouldn´t be too difficult. When you have found it, and gone to the south section, equip the stone shoes. You will see water, and you will also see a strange grey creature which is looking at you. You can´t cross the water by yourself, so you need some kind of bridge. Make a standing jump (I´m not sure if you need to pick up speed first, or not). The grey creature will fall on his back, and will try to get up. While he is on his back, pick up speed and kick him, so that he goes in right direction. Now you walk on him, over the water. Pick up the treasure, the record book. Go back, and up through the log again, and go back again. Equip the stone shoes again, and do the same thing again, but this time, kick him in the other direction. Now you can go down instead. On the next island, do the same again with the grey creature here and kick him, so that he goes left. You can now continue down. On the next island, do the same thing, kick the creatures in down direction. He, and the other creature makes a bridge so that you can walk down. Follow the way, and you will find a blue diamond. When you have taken it, get back again to the top, and through the log, and go back again. Kick the first creature, so that you can go down. On the next island, kick the other creature in left direction, so that you can go down to the island with the two creatures. Kick the two creatures up, on the next island. You will see how they will create new bridges for you. Go that way, and go up through the log in the north. There is only one way to go here, and here you will find the next important item: The magic hands. When you have collected this item, head back to Gudo Valley. If you prefer to walk out of the forest instead of using an Angel´s wing, then go back to the place with the water. You can go west here, north of the water, so that you end up in the beginning with the first gray creature you kicked. From this point, you should be able to find the way out of the forest. Gudo Valley 2nd time -------------------- Back in Gudo Valley, first keep walking til that you see the first stone floor plate. Go up here a short distance, and go left as far as possible, and then go up. Equip the Magic Hands, and punch the switch on the other side. You can now walk over the bridge. Go up and right, then up and up/right again as far as possible. You will see several stone plates on the floor on your way. Break through the second one from right. You will land on a plattfrom on the level below. Use the magic hands to hit the switch on the other side, and walk over the bridge. Continue down and hit the next switch, and walk over the next bridge. Go down, and then left, and downstairs. Down here, you will face the next boss. He is not very hard either. The boss(es) are several clouds flying around, and lightnings are coming out of the clouds just after that their eyes are turning red (watch them carefully). For a moment they fly higher, and for a moment they go down on the ground. When they go down on the ground, strike them. You need to strike every cloud. When you have struck every cloud, the boss is beaten. You will now meet the fairy, who will give you the Whisper Conch. Mystic Forest 2nd time ---------------------- Go back to the Mystic Forest again, and be sure to save the game before entering the forest, because a new boss is coming soon, and he is harder. First, go southwest til that you reach a log. Slide through and go down. Here is a tree with a face. Equip the Whisper Conch, and use it on the tree. The tree tells you about a swan in the forest, and that it is captured in a spiders web (I think). He will move a tree in the north, and now you can go up and save it. A new passageway is open in the northwest of the forest. Slide through the log. Now it is boss-time again, and as I wrote, this boss is harder. You have to strike him quickly, because he can throw small webs at you, and if you get stuck, you are unable to move, and you can´t even use medical herbs! The best way to kill him is to strike him once with your sword. Then he makes a high jump. Look at his shadow where he will land. Strike him again immediately as he lands, before he gets the opportunity to throw webs at you. If you manage to strike him again, he will make a new jump, and you can do this til he dies. If you fail to strike him, get away as far as possible from him, so that his webs doesn´t hit you. When the webs have missed, run up to him and strike him again. He is beaten after 20 strikes. Equip the Whisper Conch to talk with the swan. She (the princess) remembers you, and will follow you. Now you have to cure her, but before you go on to do that, go to the city of Odegan. You can talk to people if you like, some will think that you are crazy to have a swan following you, while some others think that it is cute. Go up to the kings sleeping room, and talk to the king, and then talk to the man, who is standing right of the king. He will reward you with a magic medicine bottle (not for saving the swan of course, only because you found the fairy and the Whisper Conch). You can´t use the bottle in any way yet, but you will have use for it later. While you are in the castle, you can also talk with the fake princess (Karry), if you go right, and up, and listen to what she is saying. She is mean...When you are done in the castle, go down into the city, buy new items if you like, and save the game. Now, you must go to the Millennium Tree. Go north from city of Odegan, til that you reach the sign about Gudo Valley (read above), and from this point, continue northwest til that you reach water. Go southwest from here, and you will find a cave, Creepy Cavern. Equip the Magical hands to hit the switch to remove the spikes. Then, simply follow the south wall to the exit to the left. Outside, go south to find the millennium tree (you have to walk around a few obstacles on your way, finding the tree shouldn´t be any greater problems, since there only is mainly one way down. Go west as soon as you see water). The Millennium Tree ------------------- I suggest you to save the game here. Walk inside the tree and go upstairs in the first room. On the next level, kill the green spider and go down. Now, I suggest you to do something which is pretty boring, but still pays off. That is that you collect 3000 gold coins now, because this place is possibly the best place where you can earn easy money. Do it like this: Walk inside the tree again, and immediately strike the green spider twice. He splits into two smaller spiders (red). Kill them both. They leave a 10-gold coin bag pretty often. As soon as you have killed both small spiders, go outside and inside again and repeat it over and over again. You will probably find a technique how to make it easy to kill the spider (since it moves exactly the same way every time). Collecting 3000 gold coins should take around 1 hour. It sounds like a lot, but it is really worth it. With the money, you can go back to the city of Odegan and buy 99 herbs (which is the maximum that you can carry). If you won´t need the herbs now, then you will need them later, believe me. Same goes for record books and Angel´s Wings, but you don´t need to buy more than 10 of each. The remaining money will be needed later, for a secret shop that sells very important (and very expensive!) items later. That wasn´t so bad, was it? :) When you have collected the money, and bought all items in the city, head back to the tree again, and save the game. Go inside and upstairs. In the room where you fought for money, go upstairs again on the other side. Continue upstairs once again, and go outside on the left side. Make a standing jump with the stone shoes on the wooden button in the top-left corner. The green plant below will vanish for a short moment. Go down there, and pick up the chest, the Monkey Suit. Now you can be transformed into a monkey, and can climb the vines hanging in the tree. Stand next to any vine and press C. When you have reached the top of the vine, press up and C again. Go back inside the tree, to the place where you fought for the money, and go out on the right side. Climb up the vine in the down-left corner outside. Hit the button on the level above, and go down-right. You will find a vine going down. Climb down, and you will find a blue diamond. Climb up again, and walk into the tree. Outside again on the right side, climb up the second vine to get a chest, a healing herb. Climb down again, and now up the first vine. On the next plattform, climb up the next vine to the right and take another treasure, a record book. Climb down again one plattform. Go inside the tree and upstairs. Exit on the left side, and climb up the vine for the next boss. The boss is a cactus, who throws away four smaller cactuses at you. To beat him, first get rid of the small cactues with your sword (you can not hit the real boss yet). When you have gotten rid of the four small cactues, then euip the sliding shoes, pick up speed, and slide-attack him (you will most likely be hurt, but it can´t be helped). He will now fall on his back and will try to get up. Quickly equip the sword again, and strike him as many times as possible before he gets up again. Repeat this til that he is beaten. He takes 20 hits. When he is beaten, talk to the hermit who appears. He cures the princess. Talk to him again, and he will fill your bottle with the curing sap. Now, go back to city of Odegan. The easiest way is to use two Angel´s Wings. Use one to get to entrence of the tree. Then go outside. Then use another wing. Now you are back at home, and the walk to city of Odegan is *much* shorter from here. Just before as you enter the city, the princess will run away in advance. Back in the city of Odegan -------------------------- Talk to the people in the city, just for fun. They are confused... Buy new items if you like, and save the game. Go inside the castle and up to the throne room. What a mess! There are two princesses here! Who is the real princess, and who is fake? You have to make the decision here. I´m not going to tell you who is the real princess, the outcome will be the same even if you chose the wrong one. But try to pick the real princess just for fun. :) Hint: Listen very carefully to their attitudes. After the talk, Karry turns back to normal and tells everybody that the Giant Seeega (very stupid pun...) is going to be risen. She escapes, and you must hurry after her. Go the way to the Royal Crypt. On the way, you will meet Kaipa, and the advisor. Talk to them both go get a healing herb from both of them. Continue right, and you will fight the next boss, Karry´s pet. The weak spot is (of course) the orange-red spike head. You can not kill the pet with your sword. There are two ways (I think) to beat him, either by using the magic hands, or by using the slide shoes. I suggest you to use the magic hands. They can hit him sometimes even when he is surrounded by rocks (as you fight him, you will see what I mean), but sometimes the glove returns immediately to you. But using the magic hands is a lot safer, since you can use it from afar. Just be sure to aim, so that the glove hits. If you prefer to use the slide shoes, then you must pick up speed, and slide-attack him. Doing this is dangerous, the pet gets hurt, but you are getting hurt too. So, I think it is better to use the magic hands, even though they are a bit weaker. If you use the magic hands, then the pet dies after 13 hits. If you use the slide shoes, he will die after 10 hits. Avoid the stoneblocks as you fight him, either they will drop from the sky, follow you, or be shot at you (in other words, they come in any direction, except from underground). When he is beaten, go back and talk to the king again. You will get a better sword: Battle Sword. Your maximum speed will rise to five (when you have the sword equppied). When you have gotten it, go down to the treasure chamber (on the first floor, straight up from the main gate). Down here, go left, and open the closed chest to get Hercules Gloves. Now you must visit four labyrinths, and the sand labyrinth is the first one. After buying items in the city (if you like) and saving the game, go out of the city, and go east til that you see a sign which says that the Sand Labyrinth is to the south. Go south here (the land is getting sandy, and then east, and continue down south and then west. You will see real sand here. North of this sand is the entrance to the Sand Labyrinth. If you continue a little bit further left of the entrance, you will see a crack in the mountain wall. Equip your stone shoes, and pick up speed, and kick the crack with the stone shoes. Here is a secret shop with healing herbs, Angel´s Wings and Record Books. Sand Labyrinth -------------- The Sand labyrinth is long, boring, and has terrible music. So let´s get through here as quick as possible. The clue in the beginning doesn´t say a lot, but you will understand it when you are done here. First of all, use the Hercules Gloves to remove the bombs blocking your way. Be careful, when you pick them up, they will be lit, and explodes in a few seconds, so throw them away in another direction. In the next room, go left and hit the switch in the next room. The sand will turn to stone (Like ELO sang: "I turn to stone..."). Go right two rooms. You will see a bridge here (if you had kept the sand, the bridge would had broken, if you had been walking on it). Go up the bridge and upstairs. Go left to the next large room with the ways down. Go down in the middle way, across the bridge. Enter the room to the right and go upstairs. On this level, hit the sand/stone switch in this room. Go left into the next room. Here, pick up speed to maximum and run to the corner of the bridge. You will now fall down. Go left. Here, pick up the speed again and walk on the sand under the upside-down T-wall. Here, the sand will break as you walk on it. You must fall down in the very right place, because on level below is a treasure, which only can be reached if you fall down. Try it, and you will see what I mean. If you fall down too far left or right, then simply go right, and up to the large room with three exits down. Go through the exit to the left and hit the sand/stone switch, then go across the bridge, and up again and try again. In the tresure chest, you will find the Mole Claw. Euip it, and dig your way out to the other side. When you have done that, walk up to the large room with the three exits, and go right, to the room with a downgoing staircase. Equip the mole claw again, and dig your way to the room below (you need to dig in the middle part at the downwall to be able to reach the other room). Here, you will find a red diamond. Dig your way back, hit the sand/stone switch on the left side of the large room, walk across the bridge (if the bridge isn´t there of any reason, then go downstairs, and up again), and up. Walk across the bridge to the left (don´t touch the sand/stone switch), and continue up, and around, and get rid of the bombs above, with the Herkules Gloves. Go down here as far as possible through the first way down, and then right, to pick up a treasure, a healing herb. Go back up again to the place where the bombs were, go down the other room, then go right, and up through the second way. Go upstairs. Walk over the bridge, and go down, and through the door to the left. Keep going left, and down and continue on and switch the sand/stone switch. Go back, and go up this time instead. In this room is a small room, and there seems to be a button at the top of the room. Use the mole claw to dig your way under, stop digging on the other side, and touch the switch. Now dig your way back, and go down through the other door (there is only one way to go). Dig in the sand again (in the room with the two bombs), so that you get over to the other side (down). From here, walk left, and up, pass the sand/stone switch (which is on the other side of the wall), and walk up in the sand to the wall. Dig in the sand, and try to get to the room above (the invisible way through the thick wall is quite far to the right). Up here is a treasure, a record book. Now go back to the room with the bombs. Remove the bomb, and fall down into the hole. Now go back to the beginning on the labyrinth and go outside (to restore the sandbridge). Go inside again, and in the first room after the first two bombs (where the north door closes when you get close to it), go left, and hit the sand/stone switch (only if the sand is turned to stone!). Go down, and dig your way up to the room above (to the sand on the other side of the switch), and continue up to the next room, then right. In the middle-top of this room, dig again, and go upwards for another secret room with a treasure chest, an Angel´s Wing. Dig back, and go back to the room with the switch (don´t exit through the door down!). Use the magic hands to hit the switch again, to turn the sand to stone. Now go back again to the room where you digged to get the Angel´s Wing. A statue has appeared. Use the Hercules Gloves to pick it up. Carry it out of the room (down). Now you must get up to the top of the labyrinth. On the first floor, walk over the bridge to reach the second floor. The same thing goes for the second floor to reach the third floor. On the third floor DON´T touch the sand/stone switch! If you do so, the stone statue will vanish, and you have to go back, and pick it up again. Above the bridge, you must get rid of the bombs to continue. Don´t worry, you are allowed to drop the statue. Drop it (Mars will throw it) and remove the bombs. Pick up the statue again and continue to the next level. Up here, fall down to the left, and go down, and up the small stairs. Keep going (there is only one way to go), up to the next level. Go down, and through the room with stone-sand. Go up the second door in the next room, then right. Be very careful here not to switch the sand/stone switch as you enter this room! Go up, then left, to find a button on the wall. Touch it, and the door opens. Go back to the room with the switch, drop the statue, get rid of the bomb, pick up the statue, and fall down. Now go up where the door opened, and continue up. In the next room, simply touch the door with your statue, and it will open. Now it is bosstime again. You will have a short talk with Karry, but you are not fighting her yet. Instead, you must fight a sand-worm. The sand-worm has two parts, and you must kill both parts. The worm is digging in the sand, and you get a warning, where the worm will appear (look carefully at the sand). One of the parts blows a stream of fire. The best way to get rid of worm is to always stay in motion, even when the worm is digging in the sand. Then, try to see where he will appear, and strike him with your sword. I can´t say for sure how many hits it takes to destroy the sand-worm. But when I counted the hits totally, I had given him about 20-25 hits totally, before he died. It should be something like that. The sand worm leaves the Spark Orb behind. But when you have gotten it, there is still one secret left in this labyrinth to discover. Go out of the boss room, and hit the sand/stone switch on the left side on this level. Now, dig your way under the small wall, since the door closes behind you. Go back to the room with the passageway leading up to the boss. If you walk against the wall on the downside, you will see that there is another hidden room. Dig in the sand here to go to this room. Here you find a blue diamond. Now you are finally done here. This is one of the most annoying labyrinths in the game. Use an Angel´s Wing to get out of there (you don´t want to walk out by yourself, do you?). Outside the labyrinth, you can either walk back to the city, or use another Angel´s Wing to teleport home, and then walk the shorter distance to the city, you decide. Save the game, and go up to the king in the throne room. Since you "failed" in the Sand Labyrinth, you need to visit some other labyrinths: Water, Air, and Fire. Water Labyrinth --------------- The first labyrinth to visit is the water labyrinth. To reach this labyrinth, first go to the Millennium Tree (read above). From here, continue left. On a wall, you will see a sign of a lightning. Equip the Spark orb, and your slide shoes. Pick up speed and slide against the sign. You will now be teleported to a new place. From here, go northwest to a cave. Enter. In here, go left til that you see some bombs on the ground. Pick up a bomb with the Hercules Gloves, and run quickly up/right and throw the bomb against the monster in the wall, who has two hands. Let the bomb explode. Now take a new bomb and do it again. The monster dies, and the wall explodes, and you can go up there. Slide through the crack with the slide shoes, and exit the cave (there is only one way to go). Outside again, go southeast til that you reach the entrance of the water labyrinth. If you go up, you will see a strange black door, which you can´t go through. You don´t need to pay any attention to it yet, you will go there later. Inside the labyrinth, go downstairs. In the first room with ways in all four directions, go right. Throw the bombs (two on each monster) on the monsters on the wall. Two new ways will open for you. First go up the right way, and downstairs, and you will find a treasure, an Angel´s Wing. Now go back up, and go up where the left monster was. Downstairs, you will see another teleporter, the same kind as you used before. Again, equip the spark orb and the slide shoes and slide inside. When you have arrived at the new place, go down and press the stone button (just touch it) with the shape of a moon. Fall down on the ice. Go up again, and you will eventually be back in the beginning of the labyrinth. In the room with four directions, go up this time with a room with water. Take the first way to the left. In this ice-room (with some spikes in the middle), go up the left way. Up here, you will find a treasure, a healing herb. Go back to the room with water, and take the upway to the right. Go through the next room, to another ice-room with stoneplates on the floor. Equip the shoes shoes, and smash the third stoneplate from the top. You will land on a plattform. Go up on this plattform and press the stone button in the wall. Go down and fall down on the ice. Go left, up and upstairs. Go back to the first waterfilled room, and go up (the door has opened), and go downstairs. On the level below, run down the floor that breaks behind you, and go left to pick up a treasure, a record book. Now fall down (it doesn´t matter where you fall down). Go through the door to the right. Ignore the monster on the wall, and continue to the next room, and up, and upstairs. Go left, and you will be back in the room with the collapsing floor. Go into the left room, and hit the switch that activates a bridge. Now, run down over the collapsing floor, and continue down the bridge, and go right when it splits in two ways. Keep going this way (only one way to go), and you will find a stone button with a star on it. Press it, go back, and fall down where the bridge was, and walk up again (read above). Hit the bridge-switch again, and go left this time. Continue on your way, and go downstairs. As you continue on, you will find a room with three teleporters. Use the middle teleport here. If you use another, you will just fall backwards in the labyrinth and you then have to get back again. In the next room, you will see another three teleporters. This time, use the left one. When you have teleported, go up, and you will find a blue diamond. Teleport back, and this time use the right one. You will end up in a room with a small square water pool. Go left, and throw the bombs at the monsters in the walls with the Hercules gloves (after that you kill the first one, another one will appear above, but you can get two bombs and destroy the other one as well). Continue right up, to a new room with water. In here, you will fight Banbo for the second time. Use the sword, and strike him as soon as you see him on the ground (make sure to have your speed on maximum, because you need to be fast). If it takes too long time for you to find and strike him, he will make a jump, which makes the green waterplants appearing and attacking you. He also throws iceballs from time to time, like he did last time. He is dead after 10 hits. Yes, in fact he is dead. Bosses from the Shining-games tend to appear over and over again, and you wonder when they actually are beaten for good. But now, Banbo is really history. He leaves the Freeze Orb behind. Get outside again, and when you are outside, I strongly suggest you to use an Angel´s Wing to teleport back to home. It saves a lot of time. From home, go down in the direction of the Sand Labyrinth. When you reach the "real" sand down here, go south and then east. Here you find a pool of water. Wade out in the water (if you look carefully at the water, you will see that the second half of the water looks different, the first part will not harm you. Here, equip the Freeze Orb and your stone shoes, pick up your speed to maximum, and make a standing jump. The water freezes over! And you can enter the cave, which is a hidden shop. In here, you can buy healing herbs, a Magic Pyjamas (Costs 1000), and Miracle Diaries (Costs 500). I suggest you to buy one pyjamas and one Miracle Diary. Now you understand why you had to collect the money at the Millennium tree. If you have enough money, there is certainly no idea in buying two pyjamases, that´s only waste of money, since you can use it as many times as you like. If you have the money, buy several Miracle Diaries instead. Return to city of Odegan and save the game. Your next destination would be the fire labyrinth, but you can´t go there yet, because you are missing an important item: The spring boots. You need to go to the Jump Labyrinth. The labyrinth is located north of the city of Odegan. Go to the cavern that leads to the Millennium Tree, and from here, go northeast to reach the labyrinth. Jump Labyrinth -------------- Inside the labyrinth, first go right. Here you will see floor that will collapse if you walk on it. Pick up your speed and run over to the other side (top-left), and go through a door that closes behind you. Keep going right, and you will see another collapsing floor, in down direction. Walk over here, and go over to the right side and take the red diamond. Fall down, and go upstairs again. Go back to the small sand-square (just before the second collapsing floor). Use the mole claw and dig your way up, and then to the next room with a sandsquare. Use the Hercules Gloves, and throw a bomb on the wall in the down-left corner. The wall explodes. Now, equip the freeze orb and your stone shoes. Pick up speed and make a standing jump, and be sure to stand close to the bombs when you do this. Some of the bombs will possibly (if they don´t, move over a little bit and try again) turn to ice. As soon as one bomb has turned to ice, immediately equip the hercules gloves, pick up the bomb, and run down as fast as you can, then left, then up, and throw the bomb at the monster in the wall. Do this twice to get rid of him. The ice melts after some seconds, so do it quickly. Continue up, and you will find a treasure with a blue Key. Now, go back to the room with the bombs, freeze a bomb, grab it, and this time, throw it on the button in the room where the wall-monster was. For a short moment, the door to the left will be open. Go through it, and go up the way with the rolling floors, and go up through the blue door (be careful so that you don´t fall down in the holes, then you have to get up again and try again). Now you will find yourself in a room, surrounded by water. Like with the pool with the hidden shop with the Magic Pyjamas, the water looks a bit different, if you look carefully. Wade out in the water in the downright corner, where it looks different, use the stone shoes and the freeze orb, pick up speed and make a standing jump to freeze the water. Walk over the ice to the right side (don´t go downstairs anywhere). Here you will see a passageway with plenty of sandsquares. Go up as far as possible in this passageway, and dig in the sand. Dig left (so that you vanish into the wall), then up, left, and down, and find your way to another bigger room with several sandsquares and stoneplates. Dig in the middle sandsquare on the very right side, into the wall, then down, then right again. Here is a treasure with a blue key. Dig back, and now dig in the middlesquare at the top of the room. Up, right, and up again, and you will find a blue diamond. Now dig in the sandsquare in the very top-left corner, straight up, and you will find a treasure, a healing herb. Now go back to the room next to the room with the water, that you froze to ice, and go right this time. Here you will see four spikesquares. You need to go down here. Do be honest, I don´t know how to get rid of the spikes (I think there is a possibility), so you walk down through the spikes as quickly as possible (tap the B-button as quickly as possible when you do this, so that you can advance). Continue down, and open the next blue door. Continue up on the rolling floors, and be careful so that you don´t fall down. After going upstairs, you reach another room with water. Freeze the water the same way as before, and go down to the down-left corner with real ground (don´t fall into the hole!). Continue this way downstairs, then downstairs again. Continue down, and when they way splits in two, go down-right, where you will see plenty of bombs. Remove the bombs, so that you can reach the stone plate. Break through, and fall down. Go left, and up to find a treasure, the Angel´s Wing. Go down and right to find a room with bombs. Take a bomb, and run left as far as possible, and blow up the wall with it. You have four bombs (four chances), but if you would fail to blow up the wall, use the Angel´s Wing to escape. Then go back to the place where you removed the bombs to reach the stone plate. If you blew up the wall, then continue that direction, and go upstairs. Back at the place where you removed the bombs, freeze a bomb (like you did before), and then carry it down to the next room on the left, and throw the bomb at the button, so that you can walk down. Don´t break through the stone floor below, there is nothing of interest down there. Continue down, and you will see a pool with blue rings. Equip the Spark Orb, and the Magic Hands. Pick up speed, press C-button, and shoot the thunderball into the ring (if you miss, move over a bit and try again). The ring vanishes, and a bridge appears. Walk over, and do the same thing in the next room. In the room after that, kill all monsters inside here, to open the big stonedoor. Continue up, and throw thunderballs into the three rings again (they are moving this time). A bridge appears, and you will find a treasure with the spring boots. Now you are done here, so use an Angel´s Wing, and teleport out of here. As you walk out of the labyrinth, strike with your sword immediately as you go outside. The risk is high that a creature hits you, and kicks you back into the labyrinth. Go back to the city of Odegan, and save the game. Now you can continue to the fire labyrinth. To reach the fire labyrinth, go the way to the Millennium Tree. But as you walk this way, make a stop in the Creepy Cavern. Just after the spikes in the beginning, there are two plattforms with only a short distance between them. Equip the spring shoes, and jump over. On the other side, you find a treasure with a healing herb. Jump back, and go to the Millennium Tree. From this point, go south quite a long distance (a good idea could be to follow the water on the east side. Continue a bit more south than that. Pass the first cave, and continue south, and you will see a sign that warns for volcanic activity, and that jumping proficiency is required. Here, jump over to the left side, and continue on your way. On this side, you will find the entrance to the fire labyrinth. You can also continue left, to find a hidden shop in the wall, like the hidden shop at the Sand Labyrinth. This shop sells "only" healing herbs, record books and Angel Wings - no special items. Fire Labyrinth -------------- The same music as in the Sand Labrinth! Gah! But fortunately, this labyrinth isn´t as complicated. Go left in the beginning (fall down on the ground). Jump over the hole to the left, and climb down the ladder here. On the level below, go right, jump over the water, and fall down on the brown ground. Jump over the small holes on the right side and continue down and left, to find a treasure chest, with a healing herb. Now wade out in water here (look carefully at the middlesquare), and freeze the water like you did before. Continue up, walk under the bridge, up the small stairs, and go to first room to the left, and go down, and press the button on the floor. Continue right, over the bridge, and continue your way up, and pass the sandsquare (digging to the other square is of no use, there is nothing interesting there). Jump over to the right side with a button, and press it. Jump back, go up, and continue left (north of the sandsquares) as far as possible (if you find the hole to hard to jump over, walk up and around to reach the other side). Here is a ladder going down. Continue right here, and look carefully at the mouths. The middle one is not moving! Walk inside it, and you will find a red diamond! Get out of the mouth again, and go right, then down (jump over the hole). Down here, jump over the next holes (you can steer yourself as you are jumping) and go down the ladder on the other side. Continue right here and jump over the holes on the stone plates. Be careful, because they break quickly behind you. Take the treasure in the middle, the blue key. Jump over to the other side, and press the button. Go up in the room with the sandsquares, and dig in the top-left square to find a secret room above. There is a blue diamond. Dig back, and go back up to the place with the mouths where you found the red diamond, and continue right this time, and use the slide shoes to get through the narrow pasage. Jump over the hole on the other side, and go up the ladder. Go through the blue door, and continue straight up. It is boss-time again. This boss (his name is Gueid) is extremely annoying. Hitting him is very difficult. What you need to do is to equip the freeze orb and your stone shoes. Pick up the speed to maximum, and make a standing jump when either the fireballs that the boss is throwing, are in the air, or when they have landed. If you succeed in freezing any of the fireballs, quickly equip the Hercules Gloves, pick up the iceball (it melts after some seconds, so hurry up!), and try to throw it at the boss. It is very difficult to hit him, even when it seems as you hit him, you still miss him sometimes. It is very much a question about luck. Sometimes he also teleports, and that makes it even harder to hit him. The best place to stay, where you have the best view over the boss, and how to aim when you shall throw the iceballs, is to stay on the left side of the lava pool. Fortunately, it only takes 2 hits to get rid of him. The boss leaves the Blaze Orb behind. But you are not done in the labyrinth yet. Use an Angel´s Wing to get back to the beginning of the labyrinth. Go up to the iceblock on the right side. Equip the blaze ord and the magic hands, and destroy the iceblock (you need to pick up speed to level four or five to use it, then press C). Keep going right, and destroy the iceblock, which blocks they way down. Continue down, jump over the hole to find a treasure chest, a record book. Now go up as far as possible, and jump over the square (steer yourself as you jump over, and destroy the next iceblock on the other side. On this side, you will find the Wonder Mirror. Now you are done in this labyrinth, so get out of it now. If you need to buy more items, buy them in the hidden shop nextby. There is no need to go back to city of Odegan (only if you want to save, and don´t have any record books left). Walk up to the Millennium Tree, and continue to the teleporter on the west side. Slide through the teleporter with the spark orb and the slide shoes like last time. When you have teleported, go north-east to find the Hobbit Village. Walk inside. Hobbit Village -------------- But where is everyone?? Everybody is gone! Spooky music too! Talk to the trees with faces to get a clue about what has happened. On the east side of the village, there is a well. Drink the water, it restores your health. The village is completely empty, so don´t try to look around for someone. In the northwest corner of the village is a pool. Wade out in the water, equip the Freeze Orb, and the stone shoes, and freeze the water. Now use the Magic mirror. Now you are teleported to the mirror Labyrinth. Save the game first of all. Mirror Labyrinth ---------------- I know that I said that the Sand Labyrinth was the most annoying labyrinth in the game. But when I think about it again, the Mirror Labyrinth isn´t very much nicer. The left and right control is reversed, when you go left, you actually go right, and vice versa, and that is frustrating. But let´s try our best even so. Walk up one room in the beginning, then go right and then down, to a room with squares on the floor (this is called the mirror room). Use the mirror here. Viola, the control is back to normal again (but it will get worse later!). Now go up, and go right through the both rooms. Here you will see some brown floor. Go up to the hole and touch it (or strike it) and walk away from it. A bomb appears. Pick it up with the Hercules Gloves and destroy the small brown stone door on the right side. Now go back to the mirror room and use the mirror. As you can see, the labyrinth has been turn around, so go left this time as far as possible, to the room with spikes. Go down here, and pick up a bomb from the hole. Throw it on the door with an eye in the top of the room. Think carefully as you do this, about the control, it is easy to do it wrong. Continue up through the next room, and in the room after that, pick up the next bomb from the hole, and blow up the door at the top. Up here, you find a treasure, a healing herb. Go down again, and go through the right door, and continue up, around the spikes. Pick up one of three big bombs, and destroy the door just nextby (there is a small risk that you stuck, so that you will get hurt when they explode. If that happens, move over a bit and try again). Up here, you find a treasure, and Angel´s Wing (destroy the monsters to open the door again). Now go back to the mirror room and use the mirror again. Now go up to the same place again, but keep in mind that the labyrinth is reversed again, so that you walk the right way this time (which is the way to the right..."right" way...). After the rooms with the spikes on the right side, go three rooms straight up to find a red diamond. From here, walk down and through the door on the left, and then around the spikes, and continue up to find a blue key. Now go back to the mirror room again, and use the mirror. Go up, and pick up the bomb that appears from the mouth (or hole, whatever), and run to the right side, and destroy the brown stone door there. Go back to the mirror room again, and use the mirror. Go up, then left, then up again. There should be a bridge here by now. Pick up your speed, and run over it as quickly as possible. Be careful, because there could be an enemy to hits you, making you falling down from the bridge. If you fall down, go back to the mirror room, and use the mirror twice. The bridge is back, and you can try again. Up here, take one of the three bombs and blow up the door. Go up, and left. You will see a door with a keyhole. This is the way to the boss, but don´t go here yet, there is still a bonus item to collect first. If you stand against the downwall, exactly in the straight direction from the door with the keyhole, you will see that there is something you can slide through below. So, equip the slide shoes, and go through, and you will find a treasure, a record book. Now go back up through the door with the keyhole. Now you will meet Karry again, and now you will finally fight her. After some talk, the fight begins. Karry swings around an iron ball, which causes quite bad damage if you get hurt. The best way to kill her is to try to stay away when ehs swings the ball. After a while, she stops, and swings the ball only in one direction. When you hear the sound which sounds the same as using the mirror, then quickly move into another direction, because that´s when she swings it in one direction (which is, in the direction you are standing, so move over quickly). Now you have your opportunity to attack! Quickly strike her, and then get away from her again, and repeat til she dies. When I fought her, I counted to 14 hits before she died. It could be that I calculated wrong, that it is 15 hits. But it should be something like that. When she is killed, you are teleported back to the Hobbit Village. You can talk to anyone here, to find out what happened. Walk around inside the houses, til that you find one house, where you will see a couple of persons talking (an old man, and two others). You will walk up there automatically and take part of the conversation (or rather, listen). The woman with blue hair, and the yellow/orange man (who also was the digging creature in the beginning of the game, when Alfred fell asleep) are no others than Sarah and Kazin from Shining Force II for Sega Mega Drive! :) You will get the Pegasus Helmet, and can now continue to the Air Labyrinth. Before you leave the village, go drink some water from the well to restore your health. You can also take water with you, but that costs 100 gold coins, and you have to empty your bottle. But, I suggest that you keep the blessed water you got from the hermit, because it will come in handy later. If you buy the water, you will buy the Lifeblood Medicine. The Air Labyrinth is located south of the Millennium Tree, up on the black mountain cliffs. To reach the labyrinth, follow the black cliff south, and look for the way where you can walk up to it. Finding it shouldn´t be any problems. The way to use the Pegasus helmet is like this: You need to step on a Pegasus stone plate (make sure to have the helmet equipped), to charge the Pegasus Helmet with energy. As you fly, press B-button over and over again, in other case, you won´t fly anywhere. As you look on the ground, you will often see small lamps flashing on the ground (only in the air labyrinth, not in any cave). When it is flashing blue, then you still have some time left, when it flashes red, you must hurry up, and when the light gets weaker, you are about to fall down. Note that you can not pause the game as you are flying. Be sure to have the right items equipped when you are about to start flying. Air Labyrinth ------------- First of all, go downstairs. In the next room, go left and upwards. Step on the Pegasus plate, and fly over to the the other side, and go upstairs. In the next room, fly down to the very down-left corner, to find a treasure with a healing herb. Fly around, so that you reach the staircase going up, on the right side. In the next room upstairs, fly down to the very down-left corner to pick up a red diamond (you will pass an ice-block on the way, you can destroy it, if you have the fire orb equipped (have maximum speed and fire with C). When you have gotten it, fly over to the upgoing staircase on the very right side, middle high (there are two staircases going up there, go for one above the other one). Up here, find your way up to the top-left corner to find a treasure, an Angel´s Wing. When you have gotten it, go upstairs in the top-right corner. Here, you can destroy several ice-blocks. Under the blocks, there are sometimes spikes, sometimes Pegasus plates, but no secret items. Fly down to the down-left corner, and go upstairs to find a treasure, a record book. Go back to room with several iceblocks. On the right side, there are two ways going up. Take the way in the middle, it will lead to a blue diamond. When you have taken it, go back to the room with the ice-blocks, and fly down to the down-right corner, and go upstairs. Now it is time for the next boss (I think his name is Doguu). Be sure to have the spark orb equipped (and the Pegasus helmet). Step on the Pegasus plate in the beginning and fly up to middle Pegasus plate above, there are three plates up here. Stay above the middle Pegasus Plate all the time, and hit B-button like crazy, over and over again. When you reach level 4, press C to fire off the spark. You can try to fly a little distance closer to the boss (but still so that you aren´t too far from a Pegasus Plate), and then fire off. Then the chance is greater that you will hit. As soon a you have fired the spark, press B-button like crazy again to reach level 4 again, and repeat til that the boss dies. You will probably get quite some pain in your thumb when you are done here...the boss takes around 30 hits before that you have gotten rid of him. Be careful with his tornados, and when he makes rolling attacks. He leaves the Blast Orb behind. When he is killed, you are done here. Now you must go to the Light Labyrinth. Get out of the labyrinth, and go to the Water Labyrinth (through the teleporter, west of the Millennium Tree, and through the cave on the west of the teleporter on the other side). But this time, go north of the Water Labyrinth. Up here is some kind of steel door. Equip the blast orb and the slide shoes, and slide inside, as you did with the teleporters. An island comes up from the sea. Jump over to the other side, and enter. Light Labyrinth --------------- Inside the labyrinth, go right over the floor that collapses, but have the spring shoes equipped, and be ready to make a jump over to the treasure chest on other side (you´ll see what I mean). Be careful so that you don´t fall down in any of the holes. You will get the blue key. Fall down into the hole, and go back up to the beginning room of the labyrinth. Go up now, jump over the three holes, and go through the next blue door. Continue upwards, and you will see a stone door with three stone buttons on the floor. You need to press them all three at the same time, so equip the blast orb, and the magic hands, pick up speed and use it on the buttons (it is some kind of multi-ice effect). Continue downstairs twice (there is only one way to go), so that you reach a room with rolling floors and mouths on the floor. Go down through this room, to an ice-room. Go to the passageway in the down-right corner (don´t fall down in any holes). In the next room to the right, there is a treasure chest on the downside of the wall, with an Angel´s Wing. Continue on, and go upstairs. In the next ice-room, go up on the ice (don´t go upstairs again), as far up as possible, stand to the next door. Equip the blast orb and the stone shoes, pick up speed and use the shoes to get rid of the door. Here is a blue diamond. Go down the room again, and go upstairs. Have the spring shoes equipped. An annoying task awaits you in the room above. You need to get over the rolling floors, without falling down in any holes. An annoying fly (or whatever it is), makes it more difficult, one hit, and you will fall down somewhere, no doubt. I don´t have any good advice about this room, just do it over and and over again til that you get through. Keep going down (don´t go into the downgoing staircase on the way). You will see a room with small plattforms here. Use the spring shoes to jump between the plattforms. There is a treasure chest with a healing herb in the right side of this room. When you have gotten it, fall down. In the ice room below, go up in top-left corner to find a treasure, a record book. Go back up again (the staircase is on the right side), back to the room with the small plattforms, and go to the place where the treasure with the healing herb was. From here, continue straight up, and you will find a vine. Equip the Monkey Suit, and climb down. Down in the room with water, equip the spark orb, and the magic hands, and throw the sparkball into the ring, like you did in the jump labyrinth. Continue on your way (there is only one way to go), and hit the spike switch in the end. Now go back to the room with the small plattforms, and this time, go down first, and then go up in the left way, and jump over to the left side. Go down (not in the staircase!) and you will see a another three doors that you can open with the blast orb and the stone shoes. You can also see a red diamond to the right, that you can´t reach. You need a better pair of jumping shoes, but you haven´t gotten them yet. You can the diamond later. When you have destroyed the doors, jump over the hole, then equip the freeze orb and the magic hands to create a barrier in front of you. Now you can walk up here, the beams will not push you back (you can also walk up through the beam, if the end of the beam doesn´t hit you, then no shield is needed). Walk up on the stone plate with a star to recieve the Shining Sword. Now you are done here, so get out, and go back to yhe city of Odegan. Buy any items if you like, and save the game. Go up to the throne-room in the catle. The feelings are mixed here. The king is satisfied with your efforts, while the chancellor isn´t (stupid fool). Now, the king will open a new way for you, behind his chair. This way leads to the final labyrinth, the Great Labyrinth. It was said that you were supposed to go after Pazort, but before you do that, let´s go for some treasure hunting! :) There are plenty of useful, interesting, and funny items hidden in the world of Palcea. Even in the city! Go outside the castle, and go to the top-right corner of the city. There is some sand here. Dig under the wall to the other sand, and go down on the other side as far as possible, to get a healing herb. When you have done that, go inside the castle again, go up to princess Satera´s bedroom, go upstairas, and straight down. You are now on the castle wall. Go down as far as possible, and then right. If you look carefully on the wall on the downside, there is a hole, one of the blocks on the wall is gone. Go down there. You will fall into a house without any entrance. There is an Angel´s Wing. You need to use it to get out of the house, so the only use you have of it, is that it gives another point to them Item Collecting Ratio when the game is completed. If you want 100%, then you need this item. After that, go up to the king´s sleeping room, and go upstairs from here. Go down outside, and you will find yourself at the top of the castle. There is a vine here. Equip the monkey suit and climb up. Up here, you will find a red diamond. Next, go in the direction of the Royal Crypt, where you fought Banbo for the first time. On the other side of the bridge, after that you have gone down a bit, you will see a bit of sand, that leads into the wood. Dig up here, and you will find a red diamond. Now walk back to the city, and walk out (through the main gate). Outside, you now can destroy the green bushes, that look a bit different to other bushes. The first of that bush is just above the bridge to city of Odegan, on the left side. Equip the blast orb, and simply walk into the bush. It will now be destroyed. There is a passage going down, and there you find a treasure, Toydona USA!! Now you race around with a small racing car. This is actually a parody from the racing game Daytona USA, one of the first games for Sega Saturn. There is also a racing track for the car, you can go there later. Go upstairs again. Continue southeast, in the direction of the sand labyrinth. On your way here, you will see a green tree, which looks "cleaner" (much greener) than other trees in the game. This kind of tree can be destroyed as well, and it works the same way as the blast orb, but instead, use the blaze orb. Under this tree, you will find a record book. Keep going in the direction of the Sand Labyrinth, til that you reach the place with a lot of "real" sand, just outside the entrance. There is one spot where the sand seems to lead up into the cliff, on the up-side (the cliff goes "in" a bit here). Dig here in the sand, and dig up, to find an Angel´s Wing. Now go back home. Toydona Circuit (Mini-game) -------------------------- Equip the Toydona car, drive into your house and talk to your grandfather. He will say the same thing as he always does, and then he asks if you want to go driving with him. Answer "yes", and you will be brought to the Toydona circuit. If you want to listen to the rules, ask your grandfather about it. Breaking the 2 minutes record is pretty difficult, you have to press the B-button like crazy (keeping the button pressed won´t help), but it is possible. If you break the record, then a funny thing happens, but you don´t get any special item. My record on the track is 1.49.01. When you are done here, go directly south from home. Here is a bush, with a record book. Now go to the sign that says that "Odegan City is to the West, Gudo Valley to the north..." etc. it is straight west from the first sign that your grandfather put up. Here is some sand. Dig in the sand here, and dig into the cliff (If you look on the cliff, there are three small bushes, placed like a pyramid. Stand right south under it, and dig right up there)! There is a hidden blue diamond here. Now, go in the direction to Gudo Valley. After that you see the sign "Beyond this point is Gudo Valley, Beware of Wild Animals", keep going to Gudo Valley, and you will see a green tree, with a record book. When you have taken it, follow the cliff on the west side, in norhtwest direction. You will see how the cliff goes around, it looks like a dead end. Walk into dead end, and down. Here is a hidden narrow passage, going down! Use the slide shoes to slide down, and you will get a red diamond. After taking it, continue in the direction of Gudo Valley. Where you can see that you can make a short-cut, by falling off a cliff, keep going north. In the north-west corner, there is a crack in the cliff. Equip the stone shoes, and make a running kick. Inside you will find a Medicine. And before entering Gudo Valley, pick up the Dazzle Orb under the bushes, a bit south of the entrance to the Valley. Now enter Gudo Valley, and go right til that you see the first stoneplates. Go up, and next left way. Then go up, and you will see a bridge switch. Equip your spring shoes, touch the switch, and walk up on the bridge as far as possible, and jump from the bridge to the other side, to get a red diamond. Jump back quickly again (or fall down and go back) to the switch, and switch it on again, as soon as its light goes out (and the bridge vansihes). Now, run down, then right, then up to the other bridge, which also had a Pegasus Plate in the middle. Stop on the Pegasus plate, equip the Pegasus Helmet, and fly down (the passage is a bit narrow, but it is possible to fly down there) to find another medicine. Now, exit the valley and go to the Mystic Wood. Before you enter, burn down the green tree just in front of the entrance to get the Shield Orb. Enter the Mystic Wood, and go south. In the south-east corner of the wood is some sand. Dig here, and go down to find a red diamond. Whops! And I forgot to mention another item, which actually isn´t hidden! Go up in the right log, next to the place where you fought the giant spider, to get a healing herb. Now you are done here. Exit the wood, and continue north to the jump labyrinth. West of this labyrinth are bushes with a Miracle Diary (nice thing, since it costs 500 gold coins normally). Continue to the entrance of the Creepy Cavern to the west, but don´t enter. Instead, go to the southeast corner of the cliff here, where the cliff goes "down" a bit. Here is a hidden narrow passage, like the other one on your way to Gudo Valley (where you got a red diamond). Slide down with your slide shoes, and you will find a silver bottle (You can bring it to the Hobbit Village and fill it with water, or let the hermit at the Millennium Tree fill the bottle with sap, that´s cheaper... :) ). Walk inside the Creepy Cavern, and dig in down-direction of the sand in the beginning, to find a blue diamond. Then dig back, and exit the cavern on the other side. Here, go south-west to find some bushes with a Medicine. Continue in the direction of the Millennium Tree, and you will see a green tree on a hill, that you can´t walk up to. Go up on the hill below, and jump over. Under the tree you find a blue diamond. A good idea is to stop by at the Millenium Tree, just to save the game now when you have collected so much items. Go inside the tree, and go into the room where you could collect money, and continue up another level. Exit on the left side, and go pass the vine. Use your spring shoes and jump over the green plant, and you will find an Angel´s Wing. Go inside again, and downstairs to the room where you could collect money, and exit left in this room. Climb up the vine in the south-west corner, and on the level above, jump over the plant, walk inside the tree, exit the tree on the other side, and climb up the first vine. From this point, go left, and then right, to the top/right corner just above the vine. On the level above, you can see a red diamond, that you can´t reach. But, there is a trick. Use the magical hands, and use them in such a way, so that the hands are touching the red diamond. Then it comes to you! If you miss, move over a bit, and try again. The last secret in the tree is a hidden labyrinth! To go to this labyrinth, you must have gotten the silver bottle from the castle (read above, you got it as a reward for getting the Whisper Conch). Make sure to have it filled with sap from the hermit (if you don´t have any sap, go up to the top and get some from the hermit. Now go to the room where you could collect money, and exit down from here. A vine plant is here on the left side. Walk up to it. The game will ask if you want to use something. Use the Blessed Water. When you have done so, go up to the hermit to get more sap, then go down to the vine and give it to it again, and do it again yet another time. You will get a message that the plant just has to grow now. Go away for a while. I don´t know exactly how long it takes for the vine to grow, but I walked in the direction up to the hermit, and when I have gotten a bit up, where you could see a strange hole, the vine had grown up to it. Just try it out to return later to the vine plant. Climb up this vine up to the hole. Now you are teleported to a bonus labyrinth, the Air Labyrinth (version 2). You don´t need to play this labyrinth at all, to complete the game, but there is a nice item here, and it increases your Item Collection Ratio, when the game is completed. Air Labyrinth 2 (Bonus Labyrinth) --------------------------------- You are brought up somewhere in space, and you need to find the goal of the labyrinth up here. Walking here is sometimes difficult, because of winds are blowing your in various directions. You can see on the golden roosters (you will see what I mean) in what direction the wind is blowing (and sometimes it changes quickly). When you start the labyrinth, you have no items, and there is a time limit on 8 minutes. Don´t pay any attention to the time, you have plenty of it. If you have collected an item, and fall out of the labyrinth, you still have it for the next time you go to the labyrinth, so you don´t need to collect it again. Touch the switch in the beginning, and walk over the bridge. Follow the down-edge in east direction, til that you see another bridge-switch. Touch it, and go over the bridge south. Continue down to the south-east corner to find the slide shoes. From here, go straight north and slide through the stone wall. Go west as soon as you can (follow the edge), and you will reach some sand, and a bridgeswitch. Now, run southeast, and go up on the very small way, and then run northwest, and over the bridge before in vanishes (this is a hard part, and you need to have some luck. If you have the wind against you, as you are heading to the bridge, you have no chance. If you don´t make it in time, go back to the switch, and try again). On the other side you find the magic gloves (I think, but I don´t remember for sure, but it doesn´t matter). Hit the switch and go back again, to the beginning where you walked over the first bridge. From this point, follow the edge in the other direction (in up direction), til that you see a bridge-switch. Touch it, and walk over the bridge. Slide through the stone wall, and continue straight north to the northwest corner, to pick up another item (I think it was the mole claw, but I don´t remember for sure). Then, go south, back through the stone wall (it is possible that you have to slide into it a bit from afar, there seems to be a bug in the game here). Touch the switch, and walk over the bridge. On the other side, go straight south, down to the sand, and dig under the sand to get the treasure inside, the jump shoes. Go back up to place where you picked up the mole claw (or at least, where I think that mole claw was). If you look southeast from here, you will see an "island" here. Jump over to it, to get the freeze orb. When you have gotten it, keep going southeast, and you will see a switch and a bridge, but the bridge doesn´t lead over to any other "island". Jump from the edge to the "island" below, that has sand, and the bridge-switch (where you had to hurry). Dig under the sand to pick up the red diamond. Dig back, and go southeast, and then north, so that you reach a narrow passage, with tree poles surrounding it. Here, equip the freeze orb and the magic hands, and create a barrier, and walk upwards. Press the B-button like crazy, because the beam will try to push you back. You also have to have the wind on your side, if the wind is the slightest against your direction, then you can´t go up. Wait til that there either isn´t any wind, or til that that the wind is blowing in up-direction. Simply walk on the scorpion to get rid of it (it can not cause any damage). Up here is the goal, the Bounce Boots. With these boots, you can jump even further, than with the spring shoes. (Nancy Sinatra sang that "These boots were made for walking, but I wonder...ahem, sorry.) In theory, if you had played this labyrinth before the jump labyrinth, it is possible that you wouldn´t had needed to go into the jump labyrinth, but then on the other hand, you would had lost some other items (for example, a red diamond). If you want to end the game with all 100% items, then every item is needed... When you are done here, save the game again (exit the tree and go inside again, so that you get an opportunity to save), go east, and follow the water down til that you see that the edge to the water looks brighter. Here you can jump over, and burn down the green tree on the other side, to find an Angel´s Wing. Jump back to side where you came from, and go straight west from here, to find some bushes with a red diamond. From this point, go west, and follow the black stonecliff (southwest), til that you can walk up on it. From this point, continue down a bit. There is a crack in the brown cliff down here. Make a running kick with the stone shoes. Inside this secret room, you find a medicine. Now, walk up on the black cliff, and go along the edge of it (in northeast direction), til that you see that the edge is missing some stone (the edge looks brighter). Equip the blast orb and the sliding shoes to "fly" over, or use the Bounce Boots if you have gotten them (using the spring shoes is not enough, at least I haven´t succeeded in jumping over). Burn the tree to find a record book. Jump back again, and go up on the small hill, just to the west. Jump west from this hill (this requires the Bounce Boots, or the blast orb/sliding shoes) to the other side. Break the cliff wall here (there are two cracks here - break the crack to the right) Here, you will get an Angel´s wing. Now go southeast and continue down to the place where there is a shortcut to the Sand Labyrinth, and the warning sign for volcanic activity (read above, before the fire labyrinth). If you are standing at this sign, go down the cliff (don´t jump over to the other side), and go down in the very southwest corner. Go down as far as possible. Here is a hidden narrow passage! Use your slide shoes to slide down, and you will find the Dyslex Orb. Walk back into the shortcut to the Sand Labyrinth, and follow the wall on the downside. Pass some sand, and if you look carefully, you will see a minimal part of a room below. Keep following the room a bit further, and when you see that the wall goes down a bit, use your sliding shoes, and slide through. On the other side, wade out in the water and freeze it. Go left to pick up a red diamond. Go back to the sand, and dig up to the other side (through the wall), so that you can exit on the other side. You will now find yourself above the Sand Labyrinth. Go east from here, then north. You will see that you can make a jump over to the other side (north direction). Jump over, and on the other side, there is a crack in the cliff, immediately to the northwest. Make a running kick with your stone shoes to enter this secret room, and you will find a blue diamond. If you continue north, then there is a place where you can go down, and also make another jump. There is a cliff in the north, with a green tree on it, but it is too far away! You can´t even get there with the Bounce Boots, so to be honest, I don´t understand how to reach that cliff. When you are done here, go through the teleporter, west of the Millennium Tree, to the other side. On the other side, go pass the entrance to the Hobbit Village and continue east to get rid of the bushes at the water. You will find a blue diamond here. Now go west, and then south, so that you are walking between two black mountain cliffs. Continue down as far as possible, and on the wall to the right (you will also see the entrance to a labyrinth here, on the right side), there is a hidden room. There is a crack (since the background is black, it is almost impossible to see it, but it is there. Inside there, you will find a record book. Go north and go through the Creepy Cavern, that leads to the Water Labyrinth. But don´t simply run through. Go over to the left side, pass the bombs, and continue up to the edge. Here is a square drawn on the ground. Pick up one of the bombs from below, and throw it on this square. A Pegasus Plate appears. Use the Pegasus Helmet to fly over, and you will find a red diamond. Exit on the other side of the cave, and go straight east and burn down the tree to find an Angel´s Wing. Walk north and around and get rid of the bushes (you can see them from the green tree), to get a medicine. From this point, go west, and then south, into the cliff-corner. Here is a hidden narrow passage! Equip the slide shoes, and slide down to find the Judo Suit. Now, go to the water labyrinth and collect the red diamond (read above), that only could be reached with a better pair of spring shoes. If you have gotten the Bounce Boots, then you can get that diamond now. These are all secrets I know outside, but I know that there still are things I have missed. Still, there is one more thing you can do, before going to the final labyrinth. Go down into the treasure chamber in the castle in the city, and walk over to the right side. There are shelves here, and also a teleporter on the up/left side. Go inside to reach the Royal Labyrinth. This is a bonus labyrinth, but you don´t need to go through it to complete the game. Royal Labyrinth (Bonus Labyrinth) --------------------------------- Go down in the beginning, down the ladder. In the room with rolling floors, and ugly mouths, go through the up/right way, and jump over the wooden block to get the treasure, the red key. Open the red door just nextby and go up. In the next room, go up the ladder. In the room above, equip the Pegasus helmet, and fly northwest, over all waterpools. Over here, you will find the green key. Go back down where you came from, and back to the room with the rolling floors and the mouths. This time, go up in the way up/left, and jump over the water (it helps a lot if you have gotten the Bounce Boots from the Air Labyrinth (the other bonus labyrinth). Go left when you see another way going up. Then continue up, and you will see a red diamond, but there seems to be no way to get it. But, there is. There is a hidden way from the two squares on the left side, so you can walk inside the wall from this side, to take it. Go back to the room with the rolling floors again, and take the way straight up this time. Go up the ladder, and open the green door on the level above. Here, you find the Power Orb. Now you are done here, so get out again. Save the game in the city and buy any more items, if you have the money. Then, go up to the throne room, and downstairs behind the king´s chair, to the Great Labyrinth. If you have collected all diamonds that are mentioned, then you should have 11 full life bubbles, and eight and a half LS-bubble by now (there is most likely another red diamond somewhere else, because it looks strange with eight and a half bubble. However, I don´t know where this diamond is located). Great Labyrinth --------------- Like the name says, this labyrinth is great. But nothing else is to be expected from the final labyrinth. First, when you reach Perilous Pass, then go left to reach a treasure with a record book. Then go down, across the sand, to a staircase going down. To be able to fight Pazort, you need to seal the four Djinns that were released in the labyrinths. There are four teleporters here. Go into the down right one, do it the same way as you did before. Go downstairs. In the next room, go up the right way, and then right, and in this room, go down immediately, to find a switch. Touch it, and then go through the room up/right. In the next room with the bridge, go up in the middle. Here is a Pegasus plate. Use the Pegasus helmet, and fly up the right way. Continue up in the next room, then right and up, to the next room with a Pegasus plate. Fly up the left way, over both holes this time. Then go right, and you will see a room with water. Walk around on the up-side, and hit the button on the floor on the right side. Now go back to the room where you flew over the both holes. Equip the slide shoes and the blast orb to get over the holes (you will "fly" for a short moment, but I guess that you also could use the Bounce Boots if you have them). Fly up the right way this time, and fly over the water (recharge your energy on the plate), to the down/middle of the room, through the door. Go down through the next room, and hit the switch. Go on the bridge to the left, go down, then to the right, and then up to find a treasure, a green key. Now fall down. Go down, and you will see some water. Wade out in the water, and freeze it with the freeze orb and the stone shoes. Hit the switch on the other side. Now go through the door on the right, that just opened. Continue here to find a treasure, the blue key. Go back, and go up this time through the door on the left side, and go upstairs. Hit the switch and walk over the bridge. Here, use the Pegasus Helmet on the Pegasus plate, and fly down, and go back to the beginning room of the labyrinth. Go up the left way this time, and fly with the Pegasus helmet over the big hole, to the down-right corner, and switch the button. You must hurry to the next Pegasus plate above before you fall down. Fly up to the door in the top/left corner. Go through the next room, and then go up to face the first Djinn (you will open the door with your green key). This is the Air Djinn. He is flying around, and the only way to hit him is when he lands. You can try several combinations with your sword, and the magic, but my favourite way to do it, is to use the spark orb and the sword. When he lands, I make sure to stay either straight over, under, left or right of him, and spark him. This is a very safe method to fight from afar. Be careful so that you don´t touch him, he causes quite bad damage if you touch him. And it can also get windy in here, so don´t expect the control to work 100% in here...If you use the spark orb, he goes down after 25 hits. At least, it was 23 hits when I did it, and then I dumped into him twice, which makes 25 hits. Go back to the city and save the game. Be sure to have plenty of herbs, becuase the next Djinn is harder (20 herbs is recommended just in case, and if you don´t need them all on him, you will need them later)! Go back to the room with the four teleporters again, and this time, go up in the up/left teleporter. First, go downstairs, and then left, to a room with fire. Go down for awhile, and you will see two monsters on the walls, and bombs. Use the bombs to get rid of the monsters. Above the monsters, there is a bridge-switch. Touch it, and run down quickly to the place with the bombs, and there run left, then left through the next room with some fire, then up on the bridge in the next room, and when the way splits in three ways, go right. In the treasure here, you will find a red key. Fall down, and go through the door to the up/right. Here, dig in the sand in the down/left corner, to reach the room below. Use the bombs to get rid of the monster, then go up to the room above, and hit the sand/stone switch. Now, go back down, and continue through the down/left door (in the first room where you fall down to). Go up in the next room, and through the upgoing staircase in the top/right of the room (you can jump over the fire). Now you will find yourself in a big room with fire. To get rid of the fire, use the blast orb and the stone shoes (pick up speed, and make a standing jump). There will be something that looks like a nuclear-explosion, and some fire vanishes. Be careful here, because you can not make any jumps on the weak floor, then it breaks, and you have to start from the beginning again. Look for the steady floor, it look a bit different (like the first square when you enter the room). Use the stone shoes on these squares. Find your way to the down/left corner. In the room here, go downstairs, and continue down as far as possible. Then go left and up over the bridge, and you will find a treasure, the yellow key. Go back again upstairs, to the room below the great fire-room. Go into the room to the left, then the first way down, into the next great fire room. Work your way through this room to the door at the top/right of this room. In the next room, there is a bridge-switch. Touch it, and a bridge appears in the next room. The next room is tricky as well, you must get down to the down/right corner, but to get there, you must get rid of the flames. Get rid of some flames by jumping on the bridge (the other floor is too weak, and as quickly as you have done the jump, get back to the switchroom before the bridge disappears. You have to do this several times, and it gets harder and harder, since you must go further and further everytime to get rid of the flames, an if you fall down, then you must start all over again. It is really hard...but when you have reached the down/right corner, go on, and through the door (you use a key, but I don´t remember which one, but it doesn´t matter, since Mars does it automatically). Up here, you fight the next Djinn. This is the Fire Djinn. He jumps around, and blows fire at you. When he jumps, look at his shadow, where he will land, and don´t stand too close, because there will be some fire around him when he lands. When he lands, you will also lose speed, if your speed is 5, then it goes down to 3, and you have to press the B-button to reach 5 again. And when is standing on the ground, he walks around (he is fast, and he makes bad damage if you touch him!) and blows fire. The best way to beat him, in my opinion, is a combination of sword attacks, combinated with the spark orb, and dumping into him (more or less by mistake, but it damages him!). I killed him with 24 hits, and then the most attacks were spark attacks (like the previous Djinn). Use an Angel´s Wing to get out of here, go back to the city and save. Then go back to the room with the four teleporters, and this time go through the down/left teleporter. There is only one way to go here, to reach the next Djinn. This is the Spark Djinn. He is digging in the sand, and when is digging, the sand that he throws away can hurt you, the same when he arrives. As he walks around, he sometimes also uses spark around him. Like before, my favourite way is to use the spark orb with the sword. You can try to do that when he is digging, or when he stands still to use his spark. When he is walking around, try to avoid him (don´t attack). I tried to count the hits, but I also had to concentrate (he is quite fast). But I think he takes 24 hits as well. If you want to go and save the game (and/or buy items), do that, before going into the last teleporter, the up/right one. There is only one way to go here as well. This is the Ice Djinn. The only thing he does, is appearing from the water, shooting ice-arrows at you. This time, don´t use the spark orb. Instead, wade out in the water, have the freeze orb and the stone shoes equipped. Pick up speed, and when he appears from the water, freeze the water! For a moment, he stucks, and can´t do a thing! This is your opportunity to attack! Strike him with your sword as many times as possible (if you got the Power Orb from the Royal Labyrinth, then equip it at the same time, to cause more damage). After a moment, the ice vanishes. Repeat this, til that he dies. Stay in motion when he is underwater, so that you quickly can move away, if he is too close to you, when he arrives. If you freeze the water, when he isn´t appearing, then the water will freeze, and he will not appear for a moment, but that won´t help you (the ice will melt again, so don´t worry, you don´t need to restart). It took 20 hits for me to kill him, but several of these 20 hits were attacks when I happened to dump into him (he appeard just where I was standing). I was not using the Power Orb when I was fighting him, because I hadn´t found it when I was fighting him (I found it afterwards). If you use that orb, it should be a bit less. All four Djinns are sealed now, and now it is time for the final showdown with Pazort. But before you fight him, go back to the city and buy as many herbs as you can, if you have any money. Sleep with your Magic pyjamas (if you bought it earlier) to regain your energy, and save the game. Have you collected all treasures in the forest under all trees and bushes? Do you have at least 25 herbs (if you got all secret medicine bottles, then 20 herbs should be enough) with you? If the answer is yes to both questions for you, then let´s go and kick Pazort´s butt! :) Go back to the room with the four teleporters, and go through the other downgoing staircase. Go up here, and you will see Kazin lying on the floor, but don´t worry, he is not dead. Speak to him if you like. Before you continue up, if you have any Magical Diary, then you can use it here, if you like (you won´t have any other opportunity to use it). Then continue up to face Pazort. First there will be a talk, and then the final showdown begins. But an important thing to notice first of all is, that the way where you come from, doesn´t have a door that closes behind you. That means that it is possible to retreat from this battle. But if you do so, then you have to start all over again (I noticed this, when I once was pushed back, and had to start all over again...agh!). Pazort is moving extremely fast (what do you expect for a final boss...?), and using various attacks, he throws waterfloods, fire, nuclear-explosions (sort of, the blast energy). The best way to beat him, in my opinion, is to use the spark orb, and the sword, and spark him from afar, when he is standing still (by doing this, you can also hit him, when he is standing too far away for you to hit him (he is standing in the air sometimes). As I wrote, he is extremely fast, and he causes major damage if you touch him, so you must move fast when he chasing you. You have to hit him 40 times with the spark attack. Congratulations! You have done it! Now you can lean back (well, OK, you need to press the C-button a couple of times, since people are talking) and look to the ending (I shouldn´t tell you what happens, you should discover it yourself, but they made a very good job on the ending). And if you completed Shining Force II for Sega Mega Drive before you completed this game, then there will be a name mentioned, that you will recongnize from that game, which had a sad story in Shining Force II. You will see what I mean... :) If you have collected all treasures that I described in this walkthrough, no more, no less, then you will most likely have collected 92% of the items (the Item Collection Ratio will be shown after the credits). In the game, one item is worth 0,85%, so that means that 9 items still are missing in the game. Not that much left, but it would be fun to complete the game with 100% once. I believe that there also are a couple of hidden labyrinths in the game, that I haven´t discovered yet... --- I hope that this walkthrough has been useful for you in some way. If there is anything that isn´t clear enough, just send me an e-mail, and I´ll help you out. :) Other walkthroughs I have written are "Mystaria - The Realms of Lore" for Sega Saturn, "Guardian Heroes" (strategy map) for Sega Saturn, "Tails Adventure" for Sega Game Gear, and "Prince of Persia" for Sega Mega CD. If you are interested in reading any of these, just e-mail me. :) Good luck with Shining Wisdom, and many thanks for reading this walkthrough. :) Maringa, I love you! :) Magnus Andersson rubens.barrichello@swipnet.se August 2000
