Intro.| ----------- Robo-Pit is a great Robot fighting game, were you can control, customize, and battle robots. You are fighting in a tournament of sorts. Your goal? To become #1 in the rankings, and collect all the Arm weapons. Your bot can either be powerful or very weak depending on how you setup your bot. This FAQ is best view the the resoloution 1024x768, as it was created in 1024x768. So I cant know if it is viewable in any lower resoloutions such as 800x600. You shouldnt have any problems viewing it if you are in a higher resoloution. _------------------_ |2. Making a robot.| -------------------- This process is very easy, and very simple. But choose wisely as each body part(Head, Body, and Legs) have different stats that affect your bot's performance. I recommend using one of the two default pre-built robots for your first couple of battles, so that you can remember the controls and get a real feel for the game. _-----------_ |3. Contols.| ------------- Default configuration: X = Jump. Square = Left arm. Circle = Right arm. Triangle = Block. L2,R2 = Specials. L1,R1 = Strafe Left/Right. Up = Move up. Down = Move down. Left = Move left. Right = Move right. _--------------_ |4. Body Stats.| ---------------- Each body has a different shade and size, which arent just for looks. Each body has its own weight, which in turn effects their speed. Also. Power and Weight effects special attacks. Power effects - <500 = shockwave, and >500 == beam. Weight effects - >500 = flying somersault, and <500 = spin attack. Body #1 - Power: 500. Weight: 590. Defense: 15. Body #2 - Power: 480. Weight: 750. Defense: 25. Body #3 - Power: 400. Weight: 485. Defense: 5. _-------------_ |5. Leg Stats.| --------------- Legs... Well all I can say about the legs is that you might want to get fast legs with a lower jump distance. This will help in your matches because you really dont need to jump all that high in order to win. There are objects you can jump onto and jump off of to get higher, and well, Speed is just good to get away when you are being trapped into a corner or about to fall out of the ring. Speed is the speed of your robot. Turn is the turning speed of your robot. Jump is how high your robot can jump. Legs #1 - Speed: 80. Turn: 56. Jump: 290. Legs #2 - Speed: 90. Turn: 40. Jump: 290. Legs #3 - Speed: 100. Turn: 56. Jump: 300. Legs #4 - Speed: 90. Turn: 64. Jump: 300. Legs #5 - Speed: 120. Turn: 48. Jump: 400. Legs #6 - Speed: 100. Turn: 56. Jump: 400. Legs #7 - Speed: 120. Turn: 56. Jump: 200. Legs #8 - Speed: 110. Turn: 64. Jump: 200. Legs #9 - Speed: 70. Turn: 64. Jump: 250. Legs #10 - Speed: 80. Turn: 56. Jump: 290. Legs #11 - Speed: 150. Turn: 48. Jump: 270. Legs #12 - Speed: 200. Turn: 40. Jump: 270. _-------------_ |6. Arm Stats.| --------------- Arms are the heart and soul of your robot, they are you first and last line of defense(other than blocking ^_^). You want to select an arm, test is out on a lower ranking robot. Once you found a combo that you can use, put the left arm weapon onto the right arm, and battle with it until its at 100%(Do the same with the other weapon that you feel you are good with). Now that your two best weapons are 100%, you can feel proud of yourself and go battle. Punch 1 - Power: 67. Speed: 100. Defense:0. Type: A. Punch 2 - Power: 81. Speed: 80. Defense:0. Type: A. General Information.| ------------------------- When selecting your enemy, be sure you always look at what its using, and what the percentages are for each arm. Keep in mind that when its higher that means its better with it. So always select the correct arms for the current battle, and you should nearly always be victorious. 8.1) Boss Strategies. Lips: While Lips is using her attack she will stop, but not for long. Jump or run closer and wait for her to attack once she does JUMP and move forward and to the left or right, and attack her while her Lips arm is coming back. Repeat this to win. Level: Easy, could be done at anytime. Boomer: The best way to attack Boomer is to get behind him and attack, fast. Again repeat this to win. Level: Hard if your arm percentages arent atleast above 75%. Samurai: Two are two ways to defeat this HARD enemy. One is to equip two shields, and lure him to a ring out. Second One Sheild and the Sword, try to jump and land on him then attack while hes stunned for less then a second, this is VERY HARD to-do. Level: Extremly Difficult. Teketeke: Dodge, Dodge, Dodge. It couldnt be any more easy. He will run out of ammo. Level: Hard/Easy, depending on your speed. Big Punch: Pretty much the same thing you do with Samurai, although with two Swords. Just Attack Attack Attack, nothing else i could think of. Level: Near the same diffuculty as Zio Gigas, but a little more easy. Zio Gigas: The three best ways, which most people tend to use(Well I do). One again Sword to the resuce. Equip a sword and a shield. Jump behind Zio Gigas and hit him, repeat. Two, use a Punch, and throw stuff at him. Third, Equip a Shooting type arm(TekeTeke, Cannon, etc.), and a meele weapon. Make sure they are BOTH 100%. Level: Extremly HARD, may take you a few times to win. 8.2) Loading times & Memory cards. One thing I find really annoying about this game is the loading times, and the first couple videos. For one you cant skip either one, and they are too long. Memory cards you cant play two plays with the same arms and bots, if you can I havent figured out how and ive played the game for years. Loading from the robot listing to the game is a veru smooth, theres practically 0 loading time. This game only requires 1 block. 8.3) Music. I think the music in this game rocks. The first PSX games back in '96 never really had that much good music, but but this game is very different the music rocks. I havent found any other games made in the early days of PSX to have to good of music, well maybe Twisited Metal. But I havent played that in more then 5 years, I actually want to buy that. You need a pretty good TV/AV input capabile to experince the full greantess of the music. _-----------------------_ |9.
