The Panzer series is one of my favorite series of all time and I wish more people would have experienced it's universe... hopefully the rumors that Sega will remake the games for the Xbox are true. These Panzer Dragoon guides are designed to be the ULTIMATE source for info on the games including the most complete storyline info. ANY HELP FROM THE PANZER DRAGOON COMMUNITY WOULD BE GREAT. Email any storyline info that I may have missed, with everyones help maybe we can start to complete the Panzer Dragoon timeline that's been neglected since Team Andromeda disbanded. Ia...Update/Revision history Version 1.0 - October.27.2k2 - Initial release. Ib...Credits - A special thanx to everyone listed. Panzer Dragoon Academy - http://www.sun-inet.or.jp/~dds552/PDA/top.html for a lot of the storyline info. Site is only available in Japanese and I don't think it's being updated anymore. GameFAQs message board users for assorted help: LMN8R ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ II...Story analysis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The best part about the Panzer series to me is the storyline of each game and how they intertwine with each other. I don't believe any other company would make a relativly short game like the Panzer games and take the time to flesh out such an awesome setting and universe. Every last detail has been worked out and they even made a timeline that goes back about 90 years BEFORE any of the games. The storylines for all the games are extremely intricate and best of all, emotional...even the shooting Panzers. I only hope the legacy can live on with MULTIPLE new Panzer games (after Orta) including a new RPG (like Saga) so we even get to see more of the universe I love so much... IIa...Storyline **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** Thousands of years have past since a once thriving human race was pushed to the edge of extinction by their own bio-weapons, genetically altered creatures of their own creation who eventually turned against them. Humans live in constant fear and struggle with the creatures endlessly, just trying to regain some of their lost power. ***Panzer Dragoon Zwei happens around this time*** It was a losing battle until one day a faction of the humans, known as the Imperials, found the secret weapon they hoped would give them the upperhand once again...the Tower. The Imperials then used the ancient weapons and devices inside the Tower to drive back some of the creatures and regain some of their lost ground in the war for humanity. The Imperials couldn't figure out how to operate the Tower itself though and it remained totally dormant. The Imperials became power hungry however and used the weapons found within The Tower against the other surrounding nations with a goal nothing short of world domination. Other nations eventually found ancient weapons of their own and a seemingly endless series of wars took place. Years later...a young man named Kyle (Ka-i-ru) from a small, unknown village somewhere in the Great Plains was in a hunting party, scouting one of the many canyons surrounding the Great Plains when a mysterious Imperial battleship passed directly overhead to their amazement. While in awe over the sight they were attacked by a group of Burrowers, killing one of the men in his group. One of the burrowers started to escape so Kyle chased it through numerous canyons until he reached one that he had never seen before to his surprise. And at the end of it was an even greater surprise...the entrance to an abandonded building of some sort... After entering the building and exploring a little, Kyle was attacked by a huge creature and just as he thought it was all over he was saved from the beast by a blast from down the hall. Once outside he gazed up into the bright, endless sky to see the unreal sight of 2 dragons engaged in a spectacular air battle above his head. Just as he was begining to get his barrings he watched as the blue dragon's rider's chest was peirced by a laser bolt from the black dragon's rider, fataly wounding him. Without remorse, the black dragon flew off into the sky until it disappeared from sight. To Kyle's amazment the blue dragon landed before him and the dieing rider held his hand out in desperate gesture for help and as Kyle touched it their minds merged and many images flooded into his head along with a long final image...the Tower. While staring at the picture of the Tower in his head, Kyle faintly heard the words "don't...let him go back to The Tower...my dragon...knows the way..." Suddenly Kyle regained his own consiousness and watched as the rider fell lifelessly to the ground, hearing a final word, "...please..." The blue dragon let out an ear-peircing cry of mourning for its fallen rider then slowly lowered it's head in Kyle's direction...waiting... With the sky rider's weapon in hand, Kyle mounted the mysterious dragon and with the fate of the world on his shoulders...he knew what he must do...stop the Prototype/Dark Dragon. IIb...Panzer Dragoon timeline Not finished yet!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ III...Level guides ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The biggest tip for getting good shot down %'s is to actually watch the radar more then the screen. As soon as you see a yellow dot on the radar rotate around to it an blast it out of the sky, continuously watching the radar for any new blips. You're going to have to be fast in your camera rotating, which is another other key, because it often moves slowly or not at all if you press L or R twice too rapidly. Try to play through every level multiple times before you go for a total 100% game and MEMORIZE it, try to have your camera rotated towards the next enemy group BEFORE the enemy even appears and shot it down as fast as possible. Memorize, memorize, memorize... IIIa...Episode 1 IIIa1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** After accepting his fate of riding the dragon and understanding his task of stopping the Prototype Dragon from reaching the Tower, Kyle (boring name...) and the Solo Wing began their journey by passing over a lake, heading towards the Empire's 9th excavation site and ultimately, the Tower. The Empire, knowing the dragon would take this path, sent a single Naraka class battleship to intercept it but they didn't anticipate it's hidden power and it was easily defeated. A single small fighter plane escaped the Naraka ship destruction and secretly started to follow the Blue Dragon. IIIa2...Level guide - Ruins of the Lake This Episode is really a walk in the park as there are really no tricky parts and most of the enemies appear in front of your dragon so there’s not a lot of camera rotation to worry about. Just shoot the stuff that gets in front of you. The second group of 3 winged enemies near the beginning after flying over the wall do appear to your right so be ready to rotate the camera at that point and YES, you can get hurt by hitting the pillars sticking out of the water so try to stay a high in the air and dodge only when necessary. After passing through an archway of pillars with enemies inside you will fight a group of jellyfish looking guys which are a little tricky because the bullets that they shoot at you look a lot like them and it's easy to get mixed up. After a second archway and a slow turn by the dragon, 2 more winged enemies will fly out of the water in front of you which you should be ready for, not because they're hard or will kill you but because they take TWO laser blasts to kill so don't just shoot them once and assume they're dead, you're going to need to hit them again, it's best to kill them with Kyle's gun. Through the next area with walls everywhere some enemies will appear over to the side on your radar but don't worry about rotating your viewpoint because the dragon will automatically fly along the path they're on, making it so you can just pick them off from the front. Just fly high to avoid the snapping plant-like things and you'll be great. Inside the ruin there are only 6 enemies, two groups of 3, and you can actually target them and shoot them through the walls in the room before them so this should be a piece of cake. IIIa3...Boss battle - Naraka Class Imperial Battleship Easy battle. The first thing you should do is lock onto the 6 small fighter planes that are flying around the Battleship and laser them, they'll become a pain if they stick around for long. Then start locking onto the Battleship and blast away. While you're blasting away though try and notice the little "things" on the ships deck that you can shoot with Kyle's gun and they'll disappear for a little while then come back. Those are acctually suposed to be human gunners (don't worry, they can't hit you) firing at you from the deck! Umm, anyways...it will rotate around you sometimes so just rotate your camera with it and keep plugging away. When it gets close to you it's better to use Kyle's gun then your lock-ons as it seems to do slightly more damage and can kill any bullets that are shot at you in close range. When it rotates to your left side, however, it will usually use a torpedo attack on you, dropping a torpedo into the water where it waits for a few seconds then launches at you. As soon as you see a torpedo in the water start blasting it with Kyle's gun as it takes quite a few bullets to destroy it. The Battleship only has 3 torpedo’s at a time so when they're gone, go back to regular strategies. When it retreats use lock-ons BUT as soon as you see it fire some regular bullets stop locking on and divert all your attention to shooting the bullets down with Kyle's gun and totally forget about the battleship. This tip is basically universal throughout the game as Kyle's gun is your only defense against any incoming projectiles. You should beat him with absolutly no problems. IIIb...Episode 2 IIIb1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** With the single fighter plane still secretly following the Blue Dragon, it passed over a desert area, fighting off the natural creatures and even destroying some giant sand worms. The aircraft pilot was amazed at the power of the Dragon as it pretty much killed everything with ease. At the stormy end of the desert he was even more amazed to see the other dragon waiting for the Blue Dragon and a furious battle between the two ensued. After both dragons relented, they both increased their flying speed and took off in the direction of the 9th excavation site. The fighter plane pilot couldn't keep up with the dragon's new speed so he broke off the pursuit and headed towards the Capital City of Teito to warn the Emperor who then alerted units near the 9th excavtion site including new ground units. IIIb2...Level guide - Flight Through the Desert This stage is actually pretty hard to get 100% on and it annoys the crap out of me. Right from the start there are a ton of yellow blips on your radar to your rear (where you're facing already) so try to kill all the flying guys first then hit the worm as many times as you can, they are REALLY hard to kill. As soon as you deal with the worm, or even if you can't, turn the view to the front AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLE...you're about to be assaulted by a ton of enemies and you need to get the jump on them. The first group is dead ahead of you but make sure you shoot them with Kyle's gun. This and the next group of enemies launch a pink thing at you when they get shot, which you also have to kill for a good percentage. By using Kyle's gun rapidly you can usually hit the flying guys then nail the pink thing with another bullet right away, not giving it a chance to get away or hit you. The second group of enemies just like the first group come right after the first group from the front-right so adjust your view accordingly. As soon that group is done turn to the front because a swarm of flying creatures should have appeared right in front of you. There's a lot of them so you have to be really fast to kill them all before entering the cave in front of you and missing them forever...I tend to believe that for completing this part with killing everything you need just as much luck as skill... As soon as you're inside the cave there will be 3 ground enemies on the floor in front of you so blast them away with Kyle's gun. Your dragon will fly forward a little and stop in the middle of a circular room. A few of the ground enemies will pop out of the dirt in front of you followed by a bunch more which will pop out in a COUNTER-CLOCKWISE circle around your dragon. The best bet for this part is to use Kyle's gun and follow the line of enemies by rotating your view and blasting away at them as they come out of the sand. If you don't nail one of these enemies as he pops out he'll jump in the air and fly at you so just keep firing your gun and slightly adjust your sight if any get in the air. After your dragon starts moving again a bunch of the same ground enemies will pop out of the ground as you fly forward. You should use lock-ons during this part because they are hard to see with your eye with all the dirt flying everywhere to manually aim at. Just hold the button down and move your sight back and forth along the dirt puffs and nail them with your lasers. Again though, if one gets up and starts to fly at you, you have to shoot it down with Kyle's gun before it hits you. Your dragon will start to slow down at another circular room and the KEY to this room is to have your sight pointed towards the center (about...) of the screen and hold the button down. 8 of the flying creatures will fly into the room and fly around in a circle in front of you and if you have your sight in the right spot, all of the enemies will fly right past it and get locked-on without you even moving the target. There are 8 of them so you can get a max lock-on before letting your lasers fly, killing all of them at once. From that room you'll start moving forward again and 2 ground creatures will pop up in front of you as well as 4 of the manta ray looking guys. Shoot them all with lock-ons then pay attention! The rest of this tunnel has the ground creatures popping out of the sand in steady increments, one to the left then one to the right. Instead of trying to shoot them off the walls wait and LET them jump at you, then nail them with Kyle's gun as they're in the air. Moving your sight slightly to the left or to the right you can nail each one easily. After you exit the cave there will be a flock of "birds" in the sky (which you can't shoot so don't try) ahead of you and a group of 5 of the manta ray guys that you need to quickly lock-on to and shoot because they are moving very fast across the screen, only being shootable for a few seconds. Then more worms...joy. Well the best advice I can give is shoot away. As I mentioned before it's really hard to kill these guys in time (before they go away). When they're to your rear use the regular gun because as they jump around they fire green poison that you'll need to shoot down. When they're in front of you they'll fire orange bullets out of their tails which aren't very hard to dodge so it's no big deal. IIIb3...Boss battle - Prototype/Dark Dragon After the two worm enemies a sand twister should appear in front of you at which point you should immediately switch your viewpoint to the rear because the Prototype Dragon is about to sneak up on you and let loose a fury of bullets. Just try dodge them and switch to the front view again. The best way to damage him is to use lock-ons, Kyle's gun is pretty useless this battle except for a couple times when the Prototype Dragon fires some homing bullets at you. The Prototype Dragon has 8 lock-on points so you can do a lot of damage in a little amount of time by maxing out your lock-ons everytime you aim at him. After he flies ahead of you and is far off in the distance he use a sonic wave type attack that is flat and long but very easy to dodge just by flying up or down. Sometimes he'll fly around you and if he stops to your right or left (usually your left) then he's about to fire some homing missiles at you so get out Kyle's gun and blow them up before they get near you. He should go down pretty quickly and gives you a nasty glance after you beat him before he flies away. IIIc...Episode 3 IIIc1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** The Blue Dragon reached the outer area of the 9th excavation site late at night as the Empire decided to try a mixture of ground troops as well as the normal air units to stop the dragon. They also had a new prototype combo weapon waiting for the dragon at the end of the encampment but it also failed, which the Empire decided was because of a problem in the design philosophy and it was permanently ceased from production. After defeating the Imperial weapon the Blue Dragon entered the ruins... IIIc2...Level guide - 9th Excavation Site Right at the start of the Episode a battleship is to your right with a couple smaller ships flying around it. Lock-on to the smaller ships first so you don't forget about them and let them get away. After they're gone continue plugging away on the main ship, shooting bullets when you need to BUT watch the radar! There is going to be a single small ship that appears way to the right (watch the radar!) that only stays on the screen a few seconds so when it appears stop everything and blow it away before it leaves the screen, killing your hopes of a 100% shot down ratio. Almost right after you kill the first battleship switch your view to the right again because another one is about the appear in the distance. Keep shooting it just like the other one but beware of when it stops because it will let out 3 or 4 smaller ships that you must lock-on to and destroy. After it's dead switch to the front view as a ton of yellow blips are about to appear ahead of you. Most of them are the new ground units and you can pick them all off from a distance before you even get near them. Floating over the top of them though is another battleship, so laser away at it and you can probably destroy it before you even get near it. In the next area a bunch of the ground units will rush you from your back and right areas so pre-adjust your view to deal with them. Also in this area are 3 destroyable mining machines that DO show up on your radar so don't forget about them! The next area after the archway you fly under is full of mounted gun turrets with 2 of them directly to your left and right after you exit the archway so to get a good start to this area use the "shoot through walls" trick and lock onto them and blast them AS you're going through the archway so you won't have to worry about rotating your view at all. All the rest of the enemies in this area are basically straight ahead of you so just keep an eye out and blast them...HOWEVER, after the third group of ground units, there are 2 units that don't move to your right where they're hidden behind a rock. Just be prepared for them and watch the radar to spot them and shoot em. In the next area there are a ton of the mounted guns on some platforms that your dragon will automatically fly around making it easy to hit all of them if your view is to your left. After you kill the last one switch your view to the front again because there is a single ground unit in the archway to the next area where your dragon is about to fly. Now this is the really tricky and annoying part. Ahead of you a few vehicles appear on the ground which aren't hard to lock-on to and hit but when you do hit them, with Kyle's gun or lock-ons, they split and start flying around. You've got to lock-on to them again to kill them but as they fly around they throw some sort of flaming barrels around that you can lock-on to also, severely limiting your ability to see the ships and lock-on to them. Make sure you do a good job of dodging from side to side and make SURE you are locking-on to the ships themselves and not just the barrels. IIIc3...Boss battle - Prototype Imperial Assualt Ship The boss will first appear in 2 parts, one on each side of you which you can lock-on to but don't bother to shoot it before it's health bar appears because it won't do anything. The 2 parts then fly in front of you, connecting with each other. Use lock-ons as soon as the health bar appears and get ready to dodge. Right after the health bar appears it will fly towards you and the helicopter blades on the bottom part will start to rotate around you. Just keep locking-on and dodging up and down when you need to so the spinning blades miss you. After you deplete its health bar it will break apart and reform with a new health bar. Lock-ons are the way to go again as it jumps up and down. The second time it jumps it will go off the screen and land behind you but don't switch the view just yet...when it jumps over you from the front to the back it will fire a couple of bullets that you must shoot with your regular gun before switching to the rear view or you will get nailed by them. When it lands behind you it will fire 4 bullets which can easily be shot down as it lands to your rear-right. This time when it lands it will fire 4 missiles straight ahead (NOT at you) which you NEED to lock-on to and destroy as soon as you can because if they get behind you (to your front) they will break into a bunch of smaller bullets and come back to hit you. Keep following the pattern and the boss is toast. Sometimes the bottom part will die leaving just top part to finish off but don't worry about, the top part just flies around in front of you and fires regular bullets. IIId...Episode 4 IIId1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** The Blue Dragon then entered the 9th excavation site followed by squardons of the Empire's finest in pursuit. Once inside the ruins, strange ships were mysteriously activated and attacked the Blue Dragon and it's rider. Later it was guessed that the ships were guardians of the site and were awoken by the presence of the dragon. Near the exit to the site the dragon also encountered the ruins main guardian which was a a bird-type guardian but again, the lone dragon's power was to much for it. The next morning the Kotoda (?) arrived at the site and picked up the survivors who then told the story of what happened to the Imperials. IIId2...Level guide - Inside the 9th Excavation Site This stage is insanely hard to get a great % on but it can be done and memorization is the key. Right when you start out 5 ships are chasing you so blow them away and immediately switch to your front view as 4 more ships are about to appear and they fly past you really quickly so you have to be fast. As your dragon turns downward and starts going down a tunnel 2-3 ships should appear in front of you far off in the distance so blast them ASAP and IMMEDIATLY turn to your rear as 4 more ships are coming from the back. Blow them away them IMMEDIATALY switch to the front view again as more ships have appeared ahead of you. This is definitly the trickiest part of the stage and you have to be really fast to kill everything. As you go downward there are a couple groups of 4 ships that dart out in fron of you BUT there are also 2 groups of 2 ships to shoot down near the middle of the tunnel that fly in from the side tunnels then stay completely stationary as you fly past them, if you miss any enemies this entire stage it's probably these guys. Just be aware they're there and have quick lasers. After a couple quick turns, keep shooting the groups of 4 ships that appear ahead of you (there are 2 groups I think) and after the second group is destroyed you should see two ships on your radar to you rear BUT DON'T SWITCH YOUR VIEW! The 2 ships will fly in front of you and you can lock-on to both of them pretty easily if you keep your target in the center of the screen and just move it SLIGHTLY to the left and right. 3 more groups of the same 2 ships follow the first 2 so kill them the same way. Keep your sight in the middle of the screen and be quick when they fly around you to the front because they're only in front of you for a second or so. Keep your dragon in the center of the screen too or the ships will run into you and mess up your aiming. You'll fly up to a doorway which will automatically open with 2 ships directly on the other side so be ready to blast them. As your dragon slowly goes through this room, ships will pop up in front of you and fire a few bullets so keep your view forward and use your lasers. After the room you fly down a hallway with passages on each side that enemies will jump out of and fire. This part is hard to see and shoot them down because it's a very confined space and their bullets are big and get in the way. After a quick turn you will fly down another hallway with a door at the end BUT you will not go through the door because your dragon quickly turns right before it...HOWEVER 3 new ships will come out of the door right before you turn so you have to be quick to kill them or you'll fly right by them and miss them. A few more enemies in front of you later you will enter another room just like the one before with easy enemies flying out in front of you and shooting. Use lasers. One quick turn later there will be 2 easy to hit enemies in front of you followed by a few more quick turns in a row. The next hallway has 3 enemies far off in the distance but shoot them ASAP because your dragon takes a sharp right about halfway through the tunnel without any warning and you'll miss them. Right after you take the sharp right there are 3 more ships in front of you that are easy kills. Your dragon should start to dip down a tunnel following 3 more ships that you should lock-on to and kill. 3 more enemies appear ahead of you and then your dragon will start to slow down and fly past a group of 4 ships in front of you which you also only have one shot at killing so blast them ASAP. Right after they're destroyed 2 ships will jump in front of you on the way down so kill them too. When you start to fly straight again you'll enter a room with 4 groups of 2 ground enemies appearing in front of you, just keep your target near the middle and it will be no problem. The next room after that is just like it with 4 groups of 2 of the same enemies falling from the ceiling. After a door and a quick turn you'll fly down a hallway with a bunch of doors that only open when you're really close to them and open just slightly so stay near the middle and try to slide through the openings. IIId3...Boss battle - Guardian The boss starts out way down the hall in front of you then finally comes alive after you pass over it and starts to follow you. It will fly in front of you then behind you again finally revealing it's health bar...now you can start shooting. While he's to your rear he'll just fly around and sometimes shoot a bullet or two at you which can be easily shot down. Whenever you lock-on to him and fire your lasers he'll cover himself up with one of his "shield" arms, protecting his tender midsection, so one of the keys is after you fire your lasers and he covers himself up try to shoot his arm with Kyle's gun...getting as many hits on it as you can before he takes it down. Use this technique throughout the battle and sooner or later his arm will get destroyed and trigger his second phase. He has a couple more attacks if he flies in front of you where he'll pull back his arm a little then launch it at you. It's really slow though and if you know it's coming then it's easy to dodge. His other attack when he's in front of you is when he starts to spin around and launches a spiral stream of bullets at you. There's no way to shoot them all in time with your regular gun so it's best to anticipate the animation for it then fly in a circle to avoid them. After one of the arms is blown off he'll fly in front of you and stay in a stationary position while shooting a green continuous laser that will follow you around the screen. Keep locking-on and firing while dodging the laser by flying around in a circular motion again...DO NOT stop moving or the laser will hit you and it does a lot of damage. Sometimes he'll stop the green laser and fly around firing a couple of bullets at a time which you can easily to dodge, just keep firing. His head should blow up next then just finish him off, dodging his regular bullets. IIIe...Episode 5 IIIe1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** The Blue Dragon and Kyle reach the Teito early defensive line over a forest...the Empire's final line of defense before the Capital City. Almost all of the remaining Imperial forces were gathered here and ordered to stop the dragon at all costs including the Empire's largest flying stronghold. The mysterious Blue Dragon plowed through ALL of the Empires finest troops and after a heated battle with the flying stronghold only the dragon was left standing. Afterwards the Emperor decided to stop any and all pursuit of the dragon after such miserable results not knowing of the attack about to occur in the heart of their own Capital City... IIIe2...Level guide - Assault Above the Forest This whole episode is a non-stop aerial battle and extremely hard to get a 100% on. Fast view changes and quick lasers are the only advice. The Episode starts with you flying in a downward slope with 3 incoming battleships. Lock-on to them and hit them once then they'll break apart, one in front of you, one to the back- right and one to the back-left. Finish them off as quickly as possible because by now there's about 4 more small ships on your radar to your left and rear. The ships should die pretty quickly but there's a lot of them and they shoot a lot of bullets. As soon as they're gone, 3 or 4 waves of small ships fly straight towards you so keep your sight ahead and blow em away. Then QUICKLY switch your view to the right because a fast wave of 4 ships should be on the radar. Kill them as fast as possible then switch to the left view to pick off another wave of 4 right when they appear. 2 more battleships also appear from the rear as well as a new ship which will fly over you to your right hand side. Kill the battleships first then lock-on to all the parts of the new ship (the top "cones" too) and keep firing until it goes away. Now get ready to be annoyed. The first group of ships appear in front of you, the second to your right, and then these little ships will start popping out of the trees shooting things at you. There's really nothing I can tell you for this part, just shoot as fast as you can and be ready after it's all over because 2 huge battleships will fly in front of you. Just beware there are a lot of the ships that jump out from the trees and they're hard to get a bead on. One of the 2 battleships that attacks you has 4 smaller fighter planes surrounding it so get rid of them as quickly as possible then concentrate ALL of your firepower on one of the ships because they have a ton of health and they fly away pretty quickly, if they do it's bye bye 100%. After one is gone take out the other. When the 2 huge battleships are destroyed or gone, the ship you met shorty before with the cones on the top comes back. Keep locking-on to it with as many as you can and keep an eye on the radar because some smaller ships join the fray from the sides and you don't want to miss them. The ship drops mines that explode when they hit the treetops and the "shrapnel" bullets home-in on you so start dodging. When you hit it enough it will fly behind you but DON'T follow it with your view, switch to the left view because there will be 2 smaller ships coming in from that side (if you're slow killing the ship they'll fly in while you're fighting it so be aware). 2 also come in from the right side directally afterwards so be ready. IIIe3...Boss battle - Imperial Flying Stronghold The mighty stronghold appears straight ahead of you followed by 2 battleships from the rear. At first concentrate all of your attention to the 2 battleships because if you don't kill them they'll fly away. After they're gone, the stronghold spins around, revealing 3 rows of red cannons that you should start plugging away at with you regular gun. It fires about 20 bullets at a time in different directions so have your sight ready to move slightly around and shoot any bullets that look like they're headed your way. The 3 red rings should die pretty quickly. As soon as they're gone the stronghold will fly back in front of you and spin around showing its underside. Your regular gun is the thing to use again, just aim for the blue part about midway and blast away. It will sometimes fire missiles at you and air torpedo’s, both of which can be easily dealt with Kyle's gun. Keep plugging away and it should die surprisingly quick. IIIf...Episode 6 IIIf1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** As the two dueling dragons got closer and closer to the Tower, a change started to occur in the activity level of the Tower and its reactor's power level greatly increased, eventually totally reactivating it. Suddenly an army of bio-mechanical creatures emerged from the water surrounding the Tower, blindsiding the Empire's fleet and destroying most of the Capital City. The dragons fought throughout the city, eventually reaching the Tower for the final showdown...It was now apparent that the Prototype/Dark Dragon was the Tower's guardian while the Blue Dragon was there to destroy it... IIIf2...Level guide - Teito, Empire's Capital City THE HARDEST STAGE TO GET 100% ON. By far. Right from the start you have to shoot down like 5 waves of enemies and those annoying boat guns. Also you duel with the Prototype Dragon the whole stage but shooting him does nothing so don't worry about him too much, just try and shoot the homing bullets he fires at you. IMMEDIATLY after this level starts there are 2 ground enemies to shoot directly your front-left, then 3 boats to the front-right, then a bunch more flying guys to your front. Pay attention to the boats! They're all over the place and I can almost guarantee you if you miss anything on this level it's of those guys. Another wave of more flying creatures will come in from the left, right after the Prototype Dragon passes in front of you. There will be 3 more boats to your right which are easy to lock-on to then the Prototype Dragon will pass in front of you yet again so just ignore him then move your cursor along the bridge up ahead as it's littered with enemies and laser them. The Prototype Dragon crosses in front of you again but ignore him again. On the sidewalk in front of you there are 4 more ground units so lock-on to them and kill them then IMMEDIATALLY go to your rear view as 2 waves of ships are coming in from the rear-left. Get to your front view ASAP after the ships are gone and shoot the big battleship that flies in front of you. It will fly forward then release some new ships that are easy kills. There's another bridge ahead with enemies on it so do the same thing as the last one. When you get up to the bridge 2 ships will jump out of the water on your front-left so be ready. After you go over the bridge there will be 3 more boats in front of you that are easy to hit but then when you fly over where the boats were, 3 enemies will jump out of the water to your left so have your view there and blast them away with your regular gun. Right after that 3 flying creatures will come flying around the corner of the building ahead, followed by 3 from the left. Kill em all and continue. There should be a bridge ahead now with a single ship directly in the middle of it so lock-on and shoot. Right after the bridge 2 more flying creatures will fly ahead of you so do the same to them. After a little enemy free flying some flying guys will fly in front of you from behind another building. As you go down this alleyway there will be part where there is a pathway to both sides and as you go by it an enemy will fly out of both sides. They both fly to the front of you so keep your view there and shoot them when they are there. Same thing happens at the next intersection too so be prepared. Your dragon will start to fly faster now through the alleyways so keep an eye on your radar, small waves of flying creatures will come in from the right side at the next intersection and there will be some stationary enemies on the walls of the alley. Concentrate on the stationary ships whenever you see them because they go by really fast while the flying creatures fly with you for a little while, giving you a longer time to deal with them. After the alleyway is over you will see a large "egg" looking thing ahead that will pop open and release 6 smaller flying creatures, as soon as it pops open lock-on to them and blast them. Another "egg" is right after it so do the same. Immediately after you kill the flying enemies from the second egg the battleship you met before returns so just keep locking-on to it and firing. Once and awhile the ship will release some smaller ships and some will jump out of the water so be ready and concentrate on them when they are around, only hitting the ship when it's clear. There will be a row of boats to the front-right after the battleship is destroyed and then 2 directly in front of you RIGHT BEFORE THE END OF THE LEVEL so don't miss them. IIIg...Last Episode IIIg1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** The Prototype Dragon, after reactivating the Tower with its presence, morphs with the shell formed inside the Tower creating a startling new creature and a monumental battle began. Only the eye witness testimony of a few survivors knew what happened and the remnants of the Empire oppressed their stories as they didn't want people to know that nearly the whole Empire was defeated by their stupidity of messing with the Tower. IIIg2...Boss battle - Prototype/Dark Dragon The Prototype Dragon starts out behind you on the radar but don't adjust the view because your dragon will automatically follow him around and he'll end up smack dab in front of you when its time to rock out. At the very beginning get as many lock-ons as possible and start firing away. Once he comes up towards you he'll release some probes that float around his head. When one is killed it shoots out a wave of bluish-green bullets at you so just keep locking-on to the Dragons head and moving around the screen at all times. The Prototype Dragon also shoots his normal homing bullets at you which you can dodge or shoot if you really need to. Another one of his attacks (he seems to do his attacks more random then the other bosses) while he's in front of you is the sonic wave attack that he did the very first time you fought him. The difference though this time the waves are much longer and a lot faster...the same dodging pattern applies here as before though, fly up or down to avoid them and again, NEVER STOP MOVING. When he flies to your rear he'll release a ton of tiny creatures that will launch themselves at you but they can easily be taken out before they become a threat if you're fast with your regular gun. After he moves to the front again he'll do a "tail swing" move which does a lot of damage if he hits you with it. He'll move towards you a little then swing his tail around from right to left and you'll have to be quick in flying up or down to avoid it. After a couple of swings with his tail he'll pull back again and release the probes around his head again and start to charge up HIS laser...and it's a big laser btw. Anyways, keep shooting like before, dodging the bullets that the probes release when they die. You'll know when he finishes charging up his laser because it will change colors until it's green, then will fire a HUGE blast that does a crap load of damage. Right when the color is about to turn green try to immediately fly to the farthest corner from him and it should miss you fine. He should start repeating the same pattern now so finish him off. IIIh...Ending IIIh1...Story details **SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED** After defeating the Prototype/Dark Dragon, the Blue Dragon teleported Kyle to saftey and completed its destiny by destroying the Tower. Kyle lived the rest of his life normally and eventually faded from memory, telling his story only to a few friends. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IV...Secrets and Extras ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Panzer Dragoon is chock full of a ton of extras, most of them really sweet (invincible mode) and some are...interesting (Manipulating the Segaman, Suicide code). All of them are easy to input and are readily available anywhere else on the net, which is where I found them...I just compiled them here for your ease of use, I take absolutly no credit for them. IVa...Invincible Mode - Just like it says, you're invincible. At the main menu press L, L, R, R, Up, Down, Left, Right and the words Invincible Mode should appear above the menu options. IVb...Episode 0 - A secret episode above a lake where your health constantly diminishes and shooting enemies replenishes it. At the main menu press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, L, R and the stage should start automatically. IVc...Stage Select - Select any stage. At the main menu press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Y, Z and then the menu should change into a list of the episodes. Just choose one and go. IVd...Infinite continues - If invincibility is just to cheesy for you then get yourself an unlimited amount of continues. At the main menu press Up, X, Right, Y, Down, Z, Left, Y, Up, X and you should hear a dragon cry. Now when you start you have infinite continues. IVe...Rolling Mode - In Rolling Mode, while you're playing, if you double tap any of the DIAGONAL directions on the d-pad you will roll in that direction...it's not all that practical game play wise but it's cool looking. At the main menu press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left and the words Rolling Mode should appear above the menu options. IVf...Weapon changing - A cool cosmetic code that lets you change some of the ways some of the weapons look. At the main menu press Up, X, Right, Y, Down, Z, Left, Y, Up, X and you should hear a dragon cry. Now after you start a game during the Episode 1 start screen with the black background you must press and hold a button to get whatever effect you want. Hold down B for red lasers, C for green lasers, Y for a multi-shot regular gun, or Z for a penetration bullet. IVg...Wizard mode - Woooaahhh...in Wizard Mode the game runs about 2 times as fast then it regularly does making a very good challenge. At the main menu press L, R, L, R, Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right and the words Wizard Mode should appear above the menu options. IVh..."Space Harrier" mode - Kyle only on the screen. Without a dragon you can only use the regular gun which makes the game pretty hard. First boot your Saturn up to the system menu then change the language the German and start the game. At the main menu press X, Right, X, Down, X, Left, X, Up, Y, Z and you should hear a dragon cry. Start the game and relive the Space Harrier days! IVi...Dragon only mode - Opposite of the "Space Harrier" mode because you're just the dragon with no rider and can only use lock-ons. To do this code you must FIRST put in the Weapon changing code, then, at the main menu again, press Left, Left, Right, Right, Up, Down, Up, Down, L, R and you should hear a dragon cry. IVj...Manipulating the Segaman - After you let the demo movie run by once a Sega logo shaped like a man should jump down...this is a way to control him. While he's on the screen press A + B + C + Start on a controller plugged into the second player slot then on the first player controller you can control him. IVk...Suicide - You will die...joy... Any time during the game if you press L + R + A + B + C your dragon will automatically die. Joy. IVl...Clean pause screen - Get rid of the word PAUSE in the middle of the screen. Just hit X + Y + Z while the game's paused and it should go away. IVm...View the ending - Watch the ending without beating the game. At the main menu press Up, Up, Down, Up, Right, Right, Left, Right, Down, Down, Up, Down, Left, Left, Right, Left and the cinema should start automatically. IVn...View the secret screen you get if you beat it on Hard - Watch the congradulations screen as if you just beat the game on hard. I only had Guardian Heroes for my Saturn at the time and too young for a job so eventually she bought it for me. I love you Mom!
