This F.A.Q was written for people who are stuck
somewhere in the game or need some help with the 
controls. Because the game is SLIGHTLY different
than the PSX version, I figured it would be nice 
to have a Saturn specified guide as well.

2.Controls
=----------=

D-PAD - Move around. 
A - Flip tank when it has flipped upside-down.
B - Use current non-weapon power-up (warp, shield etc), Cancel/Go back.(menus)
C - Fire current weapon.
X - While holding X press L or R for slower turning.
Y - Item (Shield/Warp etc) menu. Press multiple times through the items and
    press 'B' to confirm.
Z - Weapon menu. Press multiple times to cycle through the weapons and press
    'C' to confirm.
L - Strafe Left.
R - Strafe Right.
START - Pause menu.

Pause menu options:

*VIEW: 1-2-3-4-5
*RETRY
*GIVE UP - Yes
         - No

3.Save/Load
=----------=

TO SAVE: At the main menu, go to options, SAVE GAME. Select either
System or Cartridge RAM, pick a slot (1-15) and press 'C' twice to confirm.
You'll need 14 free blocks to save. When you've saved, the 'SAVE GAME'
option will now change into 'SAVE/LOAD GAME'. You can now load there as well.

TO LOAD: Do the same as above but use 'LOAD' instead of 'SAVE' Duh.

Level 1: 'Practice'

Guide: Only a complete fool would fail to complete this level.
Collect the gems and find the exit. Easy.

Level 2: 'Four rooms'

Guide: Four rooms and all contain 2 gems, except for the exit room.
(which is the room with the red tiles). You shouldn't need help, really.

Level 3: 'One way'

Time EASY-NORMAL-HARD: 11:30 - 4:30 - 1:30
Guide: As the name of this level says, there is just one way to go. Simply
follow the path and collect the gems, reaching the exit at the end.

Level 4: 'Elevator'

Time EASY-NORMAL-HARD: 12:00 - 5:00 - 2:00
Guide: Pick up the power up in front of you and turn around. Now, on the floor
of this area there's two gems to collect. Next, drive up to reach the elevator
and collect the red gem across. Ride up the elevator and watch out for the 
turret at the top. Turn around the corner and watch out for the wall zappers.
Enter the area where the arrows point at (shoot the turret on the way in)
You'll see three blocks with a red/white edge. Push them over the edge by
driving into them. Now zig-zag to the exit while collecting the final 4 gems
and minding the turrets.

Level 5: 'Move floor'

Guide: Locate the red gem and drive in the direction of the two wall zappers,
behind which two next red gems are located. Turn around the corner (watch
out for the turret) and locate the purple gem next to the slope. Drive up the 
slope and drive onto the yellow/black mover. Pick up the yellow gem and drive 
full speed onto one of the downslopes of the platform you're facing. Turn 
yourself so you see the turret on top of a hill and drive over the edge SLOWLY. 
You should land on a slightly lower pathway (but still red tiles) drive up the 
slope on the right with full speed. You'll jump across a gap. Drop down to the 
area with the three purple gems, pick them up and bash through the barrier of 
blocks (same ones as last level). Pick up the yellow gem and go right. Pick up 
the two red gems (watch out for the mines and enemies) now go back, follow the 
arrows and take the lift back up. Do the same thing as before (drive full speed 
onto one of the downslopes etc.) now instead of landing on the red blocks below
drive straight into the direction of the turret and back to the start of the 
level. Use the lift and exit.

Level 6: 'Factory'

Guide: Pick up the four gems (and power ups if you want) on the level and drive 
up the slope for another four. Locate the lift and ride up. Pick up another 
three gems (watch out for more turrets) and use the second elevator. Pick up 
the red gem and carefully drive onto the red mover. The last gem is hidden 
behind the exit.

Level 7: 'Gem Tower'

Time EASY-NORMAL-HARD:  15:45 - 8:45 - 5:45
Guide: Locate four yellow and two red gems before driving up the slope, towards 
three purple gems. Ride the red elevator and pick up yet another eight purple 
gems. Drive over the edge into the area below with the red gems. Don't forget 
the purple gem under the red elevator you just used. Carefully drive up the 
slope in this room and shoot the mines surrounding the yellow gem. Watch out 
not to be bumped off by the red mover! Turn around and enter a silver path near 
the purple gem you pick up below the red elevator. Turn left at the end 
(there's no other option anyway) and take the first road on the right. In this 
area you'll find the remaining six gems and the exit. Beware of the turrets and 
tanks.

Level 8: 'Fork'

Time EASY-NORMAL-HARD: 13:45 - 6:45 - 3:45
Guide: Turn 90 degrees to the left and pick up the yellow gem. Turn around 
and take the first on the left. Ride the red mover and pick up the yellow gem 
in the room ahead. Shoot the yellow/black lined block so it moves into the 
hole in front of it. Go back with the red mover,turn left and pick up the 
yellow and red gems. For a power up take the red elevator in this room, and 
turn around while you're on it. Otherwise take the LEFTMOST path that goes up. 
You can now drive over the gap with the box you moved earlier. Go straight on 
untill the next room. You can now choose from two slopes. Pick either one. I 
prefer the one on the left. Use the red movers untill you're in the room with 
a turret and the last gem (yellow). You're not done yet, the gap in front of 
the exit needs to be filled. Go up the small slope and turn 90 degrees right. 
You'll see another block which can be shot when the lift (which it is on) is 
up. After hitting it a couple of times it should slide away and fill the gap so 
you can enter the exit.

Level 9: 'Twin tower'

Guide: Quite an easy level, really. Turn left, shoot the mines and pick up the 
two gems and the power-up. Go back and enter the room on the left, pick up the 
yellow gem and go up. Pick up every gem on the way up. When you leave the tower 
you should have 5 of them. Use one of the red movers - MAKE SURE YOU'RE PARKED 
RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM OR YOU'LL FALL OFF BECAUSE OF THE SPEED - on the 
other side pick up the red gem and proceed down. When you've picked up gem #8 
you should find a pathway. At the split go right, pick up the final two gems 
and exit.

Level 10: 'Arena'

Guide: Another easy one. Turn left and drive around on the outer ring untill 
you have eight gems. Now drive up the next ring for another four and collect 
the last two from the bumps. The exit is on the outer wall.

Level 11: 'Cross Fire'

Time EASY-NORMAL-HARD: 14:00 - 7:00 - 4:00
Guide: Turn around for an auto turret, next turn around again, pass the turret, 
go right into the room with the red gem and pick up two yellow gems on both 
sides of the slope in the middle of the room.  Return to where you came from 
and enter the room with a slope and an elevator in the middle of a sloped 
platform.Drive onto the slope, turn right at the end and pick up the two gems. 
Shoot the blue block untill it slides down into the hole and go back down the 
slope and enter the lift. Drive over the small pathway (slowly!) pick up the 
last gem (red) and pass the wall zapper. DON'T go too fast or you'll drive 
right over the edge and will plummet. Make a 90 degree turn right and use the 
mover to reach the place where the blue block landed. When it's low enough to 
drive onto drive over it and turn right to see the exit on your left.

Level 12: 'Fly Up'

Guide: Go straight on (watch for the many mines on this level) and continue 
along the path. After you've picked up the fourth gem, turn around and ride the 
lift. It will bounce you into the air when it reaches the top, so beware. Pick 
up another two yellow gems on the path and use the mover to reach the last gem. 
After you picked it up, turn around, drop down and follow the path to the exit.

Level 13: 'Ghost City'

Guide: Take the first slope on the right and follow the path untill there's a 
split road going left and right. Take the right and collect the purple gem.Turn 
around and collect the yellow gem and the power-up. Turn right and immidiately 
left, follow the path untill you can collect another yellow gem. Take the path 
behind the 'X' wall and at the split drop the hole on your right and push the 
blue blocks over the edge. Turn around and drive into the gap between the two 
slopes that was created by pushing the blue blocks. Pick up the two red gems 
and proceed by going up the slope near the second. At the end turn right and 
right again for another purple gem. Follow the path and turn left at the end to 
find a mine field with a red gem in it. Go up the slope into the room you came 
across earlier. Return to the place where you picked up the second gem, but 
instead of going left, enter the path on the right, going down the slope. You 
should see a room with four red gems. Enter the room, kill the two flying 
creatures and pick up the gems and the power-up. While exiting this room turn 
right, follow the path and take the last corridor on the left to find another 
purple gem. Follow this path and pick up the last gem (red) which is just 
around the corner, next to one of the turrets. Follow the path and you'll 
drive straight into the exit.

Level 14: 'Impossible'

Guide: From the START, go right and pick up the yellow gem. Return to the start 
and ram right into the blue block. If it doesn't want to move, try a couple 
more times. It will only move once in a while because a lift is behind it. Push 
it untill it can't be pushed further. Now QUICKLY go back to the area where you 
picked up the gem and drive onto the slope and over the blue block you just 
moved.Just before going down the slope on the other end pick up the yellow gem 
immidiately on your left. Turn right at the end of the slope and up onto the 
yellow/black slope. Now, there's three moving blocks you should pass. The 
easiest way is to wait between every block and move when they've just done 
that.(Should you be pushed off, there's a short time to get out of the deadly 
pit again by driving up the slopes on the same side as the moving blocks). At 
the end there's a pit with two gems and a power-up. Go back (around the blocks 
again) and turn left at the end. Pick up the yellow gem. Push the blue block 
right to the end of the corridor. Turn around and drive back up the slope, 
where a gem has appeared (it was probably under the blue block) now turn around 
yet again and find the tower in the room with the blue block. Arrows should 
point to the entrance. Enter, and pick up the final two gems on the left and 
right of the exit.

Level 15: 'Tabletop'

Time EASY-NORMAL-HARD: 11:25 - 4:25 - 1:25
Guide: The best level in the entire game. Shame about the framerate, though. 
This level looks like a maze but is quite easy when you know what to do. 
Simply follow the arrows and always drive totally straight onto a jump. Make 
sure you have enough enough speed for each jump or you'll get off the set path 
in which case it's best to just start over. Halfway through the level you 
should crash into a wall. At this point TURN LEFT. Be really careful, because 
it's quite a small path. Drive up the slope at full speed and you'll land on 
the outermost part of the level. Follow it untill you can't go any further and 
strafe LEFT onto the path below. Drive up the slope again and pick up gem #5. 
Drive straight through for gem six. Go left and go full speed onto the slope. 
You'll land near the final gem and the exit. For a cool challenge, try this 
level on the HARD difficulty.

*General hints

-You always have the choice of three rigs, but for the best result 
always pick the standard/heavy rig). You really don't need the speed 
of the other rigs, while you DO need the better shield of this rig.

-You can shoot mines to get rid of them.

-Use the 'inner view' (View #1) for precise movement onto movers.
(especially useful on level 34, near the end).

-Guided missiles can be directed all around the level by using the
D-pad. Great for checking out upcoming hazards and hidden pathways to 
gems.

5.FAQ's
=------=

Here's the answers to some other questions you might have regarding
Assault Rigs.

Q.What happened to the PSX 2 player/Link up mode?
A.I only wish I knew. Perfect entertainment probably got no technical 
  support from SEGA and removed it. A real shame.

Q.I can't get the cheats to work!
A.Currently there's some cheats floating around on the internet which
  offer invincibility and full weapons. I don't know the original source 
  for these codes, but I couldn't get them to work either. After some 
  investigation I came across a Japanese website with the codes, which made 
  everything clear. Here are the WORKING codes, thanks to 'Shinonon':

  Invincibility: While playing press - LEFT, C, LEFT, C, LEFT, LEFT, C,
                 RIGHT, C, RIGHT, C, C, UP, UP. '
                 The message 'NEVER DIE!! I AM KING!!' will display. 
                 Cannot be made undone by entering again, but you must enter 
                 the code again in the next level.


  All weapons: While playing press - LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT,
               RIGHT, RIGHT, Up, DOWN, UP, UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN, DOWN, UP, UP.
               The message 'MAX WEAPONS - SUPER RIG!!!' will display. Enter
               the code again to be re-supplied. Code must be entered again 
               when playing the next/a new level.


Q.What are the differences between the three difficulties? 
A.The NORMAL and HARD difficulties have a lower time limit, while enemy
  fire does far more damage. There's no differences in gem count.

Q.Does this game support the analogue pad?
A.In short: Sadly not. When switching to analogue control in-game, 
  a 'INCOMPATIBLE PERIPHERAL' message will show.
