- What is It?
Bug catching is probally the second most important task at gathering in Monster
Hunter, after Mining. Insects are more used in weapons and armor than any fish
or plant. On Top of that, bugs are used for some excellent weapons, for example
a Dragon Rider Spear. The second strongest in raw power in lances, and much
earlier achivable than Black Tempest, what you want to be your true goal.
You simply use your bug nets, weakest to strongest(old, Iron, and Mega) in any
order to try to find and get bugs. 

- How Do I catch bugs?
You can catch bugs by selecting your bugnet in the Item window, selected with
the L button, in collaboration with Square and Circle, and then releasing L,
to lock it. Then, use the square button to use your bugnet, which will have a
Large red X across it when you are not on a bug-catching spot. If you are in
such a spot, usually recognisable by flying yellow puffs(fireflies), then you
may use your item, but beware, as old bugnets break at 50%, Iron at 16.6% and
Mega at 12.5%

- Valuable Bugs
Here is a simple list of a few bugs that people want to know the best way to
get, as they are use for nice weapons or armor. If you stumble upon them, try
to keep about 10 in your storage unless you know where to get them or have many
already. 

Thunderbug(For Thundertip)

- Their Locations
There are many strategies that can be used for getting these bugs fast. I have
my own, and here is where I will share them. if you have any you want to share
that are as effective, please E-Mail them to me and expect them to be on the
next update.

Thunderbug: a Simple round, but may take up to an hour to gather a mere twenty
for Thundertip, but its well worth it.
1) Go on the 4* gathering quest in SWAMP Zone. carry with you 5 Mega Bugnets,
and 4 Iron Bugnets if you want. Farcasters, or other things you can bring as
well.
2) When the quest loads, go grab a Map, and a paw pass ticket. Now, head out
to area 2, and empty the first location. If you want to, head to area 3 and
empty that one also, but some people decide not to.
3) Go to area 1 now, where there are two spots. Empty them.
4) Some people may reccomend clearing the entire zone of bugs, but I would
say go return your ticket and head home, which will re-fill your zone with
bugs, and possibally thunderbugs, which you want. Re-Zoning feels faster,
fighting boredom, and getting you to your Thundertip faster... but only 
psychologically.

MONEY, Early game especially

King Scarab.
1) Go to the farm, and try netting levels +1 and +2. then, head to the bug
tree and whack it with gold cat hammer. on average, this yeilds about 2 or 3
of these red buggers each time. Other ways of gathering are slower.
To refresh your Kokoto feilds, I suggest doing a simple 1* quest.

Common Uses for King Scarab
Dragon Rider Spear
Guild Knight+/Personal+

Joiner Grashopper.
Readily available at Kokoto Fields, see above strategy
OR
Go do G- ranked runs similar to thunderbug strategy, but this time going
to area 3 all of the time.

Common uses for Joiner Grashopper
Guild Knight Sabers
Higher ranked weapons

Flashbug
+ and G quests in Forest and Hills have the highest chance to get them, or
just use your regular kokoto feilds abusage "Loophole".

Common uses for Flashbug
FLASHBOMBS, the #1 item against Diablos. Stuns them for a whopping 30 seconds!
Nothing else. but KEEP EM

Rainbow bug.
Only available at Kokoto feilds, the only best way is the Kokoto feilds
abusing by doing a short quest, and re-loading(NOTE: Works with other
places also(MINE MINE MINE FOR ORE))

Common uses for Rainbow Bug
Some U armors.

Bitterbug.
Using the first bug-net area in Kokoto feilds, they pop up every few quests
and with the White Cat hammer, 2 or 3 per smash. use a variant of the
loophole, where you catch bugs at Forest and Hills area 1 before going home.

Combinations. there are many that use this priceless item.

- Bug Tree
The bug tree is the "Special" for bugs, giving many rare bugs at a high rate.
To use this you talk to the cat nearby, who will ask for 300Z. Give hime that.
Select the first hammer in the begining, and then proceed up the ranks as you
learn your timing. Remember, do not press X AT the explosion, hit X BEFORE it
happens. The faster hammers tend to give better bugs, while a better timing
affects the amount of them. 
There are four levels of Hammer strength
the First level, you slam the tree, and it bounces off. Then, your character
tires and gasps for breath. You get 0-1 Bugs
The second level, you slam the tree, contact, but still tire. you get 2-3 bugs
the third is the easiest to get even if you have bad timing. right BEFORE the
explosion of power, you hit X, making contact, then placing the head of the
hammer onto the ground, and wipe sweat. 4-7 Bugs on average. pretty good, as
chances are, you will get King Scarabs, which sell for a pretty penny.
The Fourth one is the hardest to get. Hitting X right ON the explosion, and
your character will rear back onto one leg, smash the tree and cause the cat
to shake. then, the cat collects anywhere from 1 row to a full window, depending
on your luck.
