You can upgrade your ginmei sword six times, each time increasing the amount of damage it deals. Head to the blacksmith for this service. To fully temper your sword, you would have to spend 121 000 taichi over a long period of time. You cannot skip sword forms, so you'd have to work up from the sixth form to the first with that huge amount of coinage and steel orbs. Form Name: Ginmei Sword Steel Orbs: N/A Purchase Price: N/A Effect: Attack +1 Note: Before the Professor gives you the sword, it's in your inventory called the Seiryu sword. You can upgrade the storage house to hold more items and more taichi. Account types can't be skipped, so you'd have to work up to the desired account type. You'd spend a total of 7500 taichi to upgrade your account fully. Account Type: Savings Starter Purchase Price: N/A Effect: Store up to 10 items, and 1000 taichi Account Type: First Savings Purchase Price: 500 taichi Effect: Store up to 20 items, 5000 taichi Account Type: Second Savings Purchase Price: 1000 taichi Effect: Store up to 30 items, 10 000 taichi Account Type: Third Savings Purchase Price: 2000 taichi Effect: Store up to 40 items, 100 000 taichi Account Type: Millionaire's Account Purchase Price: 4000 taichi Effect: Store up to 50 items, and a million taichi =============================================================================== = Infrastructure Downloads = =============================================================================== You can download extra toys from Climax, if you have a WLAN access. These weapons and accessories are slightly better than the in-game ones you can purchase. From the title screen, go to download and follow the prompts from there. You have to enter the appropiate passwords for whatever item you want. One note - the European version of Kingdom of Paradise doesn't support WLAN downloads. (It doesn't have the option for WLAN downloads in the main menu.) Instead you'd download packs of bonuses from the web to put on your memory stick. There are five packs currently out right now, and you can get them at www.yourpsp.com! ******************************************************************************* * Kenpu and Bugei * ******************************************************************************* Name: Seiryu Kenpu 31 & bugei Effect: Freestyle "forbidden" kenpu, and six-step bugei using it Password: kakeiti Name: Genbu kenpu 31 & bugei Effect: Freestyle "forbidden" kenpu, and six-step bugei using it Password: zoeuiss Name: Suzaku kenpu 31 & bugei Effect: Freestyle "forbidden" kenpu, and six-step bugei using it Password: myuicei Name: Kirin kenpu 31 & bugei Effect: Freestyle "forbidden" kenpu, and six-step bugei using it Password: qucmtkb Name: Byakko kenpu 31 & bugei Effect: Freestyle "forbidden kenpu, and six-step bugei using it Password: ptiuquc ******************************************************************************* * Weapons * ******************************************************************************* Name: Miracle Sword Effect: Attack +14 (can't use chi arts) Password: rkjulvj Notes: Even better than the 1st ginmei sword form! ******************************************************************************* * Accessories * ******************************************************************************* Name: Seima Hair Pin Effect: Increases technique +20 when equipped Password: otkciet Name: Seima Ring Effect: Increases technique +15 and body +15 when equipped Password: xktmyut Name: Seima Anklet Effect: Increases body +20 when equipped Password: ydkvcex Name: Seima Necklace Effect: Increases mind +20 when equipped Password: aietmaw Name: Seima Bracelet Effect: Increases mind +15, and body +15 when equipped Password: jticgek Name: Seima Earrings Effect: Increases mind +15, and technique +15 when equipped Password: lfiynvg =============================================================================== = Doctor's Corner = =============================================================================== Status Effect: Curse Treatment: Old lady's house, White Snake Fang Caused by: Skeletons, bats Effects: Randomly decreases 10 - 50 points from body, technique or mind Symbol: A ghost-like symbol, sort of looks like the mask from "Scream" Status Effect: Illness Treatment: Time, ya powder, and eating at a tavern Caused by: Hits from Kirin members Effects: Slows you down significantly, really devastating if combined with paralysis or poison Symbol: A purple sunburst Status Effect: Poison Treatment: Do Powder, Madoya Powder, eat at a tavern Caused by: Archers, walking through patches of sulphur chi Effects: Drains energy over time, and causes you to pause in combat Symbol: Green bubbles... Interesting Tidbit: "Do juk" is Cantonese for poisonous substance, so do powder is the cure for poison Status Effect: Paralysis Treatment: Ma Powder, Madoya Powder, eat at a tavern Caused by: Archers, walking through patches of sulphur chi Effects: Causes you to stop moving in and out of combat. Interrupts bugei, leaving Shinbu open to counterattack. Symbol: Yellow zig-zag lines. Interesting Tidbit: "Ma jui" is Cantonese for paralysis, so ma powder is the cure for paralysis Status Effect: Disease Treatment: Ya Powder, Madoya Powder, eat at a tavern Caused by: Walking through patches of purple chi... Effects: Randomly drops a status by 50 points.... Symbol: Very close to the curse symbol - looks like a shallowed face. Thanks to Skye Darkhawk for this information on the disease status condition! =============================================================================== = Freestyle Scroll Locations = =============================================================================== Freestyle scrolls are bugei in which you can arrange kenpu however you wish. Each freestyle scroll starts off with "their name plus one" kenpu slots, and by using them frequently, you can train them to ten kenpu slots. For example, the third freestyle scroll will have four slots when you first obtain it. There are a total of five freestyle scrolls, and you'd have to get them in order. If you try to skip getting one, the NPC will refuse, saying something about the scroll before it. Getting all of the scrolls requires a lot of walking back and forth between towns, so stock up on health items for the travels. 1) In Hokusai, Northern Genbu after witnessing the cut-scene in which Eikoukou or Eigen's master gets killed. You get a mission to head to the Raichin tavern and a kid stops you to tell you about a scholar finding something useful for bugei. Find the red-robed scholar named Kairkou to receive it. 2) Southern Suzaku, there is a man standing behind a bunch of explosive barrels, detonate them and talk to him to receive your second freestyle scroll. 3) In Chikuan, Eastern Seiryu after getting the first scroll from Kairkou. Near the school, there is a fence...head near the lakeshore to find an old man who gives the third one to you. 4) Western Byakko, there is a path that's under a bridge. Head down it to talk to an old man near a box and some Seima technology to receive it. This bridge is the path before the old lady's house and the blacksmith. Get this one before the boss battle with Suzaku's clan god - the phoenix...otherwise the entrance will be blocked. 5) Head back to Northern Genbu, Hokusai. Near the accessory and item shops coming from Eastern Seiryu, there is an upper deck with an old man with a cane. He says that he has something to give to his old friend named Gakuichi, and then he forgets what it is if you don't have the other scrolls. =============================================================================== = Training Shinbu = =============================================================================== Shinbu can increase his stats by leveling up, and by powerleveling mind, technique and body, he can make himself stand out from other clan members. Powerleveling involves using only chi arts or bugei to fight. For bugei, it's easier, as you can strike the Kirin dirt troops many times before they turn back into sand. Training the mind attribute can be done with a lot of nectars and a lot of enemies. Blast the enemies with any chi art and then refill chi using the nectars or chi cakes. The hardest attribute to powerlevel is body, as sometimes Shinbu dies before he can level up. Mind - Adds to the damage done by using chi arts of any type, increase this attribute by fighting with only chi arts. Technique - Shinbu's total physical damage, increase this attribute by battling with only bugei and kenpu. (Use the freestyle scroll, if possible.) Body - Shinbu's total defense/resistance, increase this attribute by allowing enemies to hit you and not using healing items...only rely on level ups to heal you. =============================================================================== = About the Author = =============================================================================== Fight the feeling Leave it alone 'Cause if it ain't love...it ain't enough to leave a happy home! - Pussycat Dolls, Don't Cha This faq was a labour of love, even through I didn't have internet access for the longest time, it got finished thanks to my friends.
