I will probably consider this guide complete if I ever get a more exact idea of the requirements for the Garrulous title. Table of Contents: I. Introduction and Purpose of this FAQ II. Title Listing and Tips for Obtaining Them A) Left Column Titles B) Center Column Titles C) Right Column Titles III. Copyright Info and Contributor Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Introduction and Purpose of this FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to my End Game Title Guide. The sole purpose of this FAQ is to cover the titles earned in Way of the Samurai 2 at the completion of the game. This guide presumes a basic knowledge of the plot lines, mechanics, and events of the game. If you are new to Way of the Samurai 2, this guide is best used in conjunction with a full walkthrough. I will try to minimize spoilers, but they will sometimes be necessary to fully explain myself. I decided to write this guide because this information is not yet covered in any English language FAQ I've seen online. I'm not even going to pretend like I discovered the methods to obtaining these titles myself. The information within this FAQ comes when the GameFAQs Way of the Samurai 2 board, and I will credit those individuals who contributed revelant information at the end of the guide. If you have any questions or need for clarification, please post a topic on the GameFAQs Way of the Samurai 2 message board. Please only e-mail me if you have any corrections of additions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. Title Listing and Tips for Obtaining Them ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The full list of titles follows listed as they are in the in-game Records screen: Left Column Center Column Right Column ----------- ------------- ------------ 1. Samurai 4evr! 1. Frugal 1. Samurai King 2. Mushroom 2. Worthless 2. Supreme 3. Harmless 3. Sword Lover 3. Prodigy 4. Sword Wanted 4. Workaholic 4. Master 5. Revitalizer 5. Amorous 5. Famed 6. Consummator 6. Talentless 6. In Training 7. Quick Killer 7. Evil Lord 7. Ordinary 8. Wealthy 8. Garrulous 8. Novice 9. Wild Killer 9. Sword Abuser 9. Thug 10. Silent 10. Junk 10. Nobody Please note that there is a hierarchy to these titles. The Center Column Titles take precedence over the Right Column Titles, and Left Column Titles take precedence over Center Column Titles. Otherwise, titles that are higher up in a column will take precedence. A couple examples follow: Revitaliizer will take precedence over Wealthy. Quick Killer will take precedence over Frugal. Samuari 4evr! will take precedence over any other title. Ok, let's get into just how all these titles are obtained! A) Left Column Titles 1. Samurai 4evr! How to obtain: Clear the game with a 120% Samurai Rating. This is the highest possible. Tips: Do the Sayo path and follow it to its ultimate conclusion (that is, Ending 1). Keep all of your responses and actions honorable, and work for the townspeople completing no less than 8 jobs - you should tack on a few more for good measure, though. If you still can't get 120%, give items to the girl with the Sick Father in Numata-cho until he is healed. Don't kill him. :) You'll have the best luck getting this title on Hard since your Samurai Rating default will be higher. You might even HAVE to play Hard. I've never tried for this title on any other difficulty level. 2. Mushroom How to obtain: Use 10 Devil Mushrooms in a single game. Tips: This is my pick for weirdest title, but it's shouldn't be too hard to get. Take jobs at the Amakaze Inn until the Green Grocers in Otsuka-cho and Numata-cho are selling Devil Mushrooms for 500 mon a piece. Spend 5000 mon and get to eating them. It's all the better if you've already got some of these saved up. Keep in mind that you can only use one Devil Mushroom per time phase, so take a nap in Otsuka-cho after each one if you want to speed the process along. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 3. Harmless How to obtain: Clear the game without killing anyone. Tips: The only way to get this title is to do a Sayo path and let her die at the festival. This is the only ending that allows you not to kill anyone. You'll have to get the 1000 mon to teach her to read, but only accept jobs in which you don't have to kill anyone. Afterwards, sleep until the festival (make sure you get the cutscene where Sayo asks you to go with her). When Kyojiro and the thugs attack, move around until Sayo gets in the way and gets hit. Two or so hits should finish her off. 4. Sword Wanted How to obtain: Try to improve a sword past max quality 10 times. Tips: It doesn't matter if Dojima succeeds in his upgrades, and the 10 attempts can be spread across any number of swords. This title is easily obtained in Easy. Go to the Aoto Headquarters and kill thugs until you get a few brown sheath swords such as the Zato. In Easy, these will frequently start at or above max quality. Get 5000 mon, and get to upgrading. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 5. Revitalizer How to obtain: Finish the game without sleeping. Use services and items to recharge EP instead. Tips: The best recharge service is the Bath House in Numata-cho if you ask me. It's only 300 mon and produces no negative effects. 6. Consummator How to obtain: Finish the game without losing more than 1000 HP total. Tips: This sounds much harder than it really is. Start a new game, and after the initial cut scenes, go to Otsuka-cho and keep sleeping until Festival time. You'll have to kill everyone there, but only one fight will remain afterwards for a Lone Samurai ending. Use one of your best swords to make this easiest. If you still have trouble getting by without losing 1000 HP, try using a sword with a highly damaging unblockable such as the Hairando or even the Ukigumo-no-kodachi. Spam that unblockable until victory is yours! 7. Quick Killer How to obtain: Get 300+ instant kills in a single game. Tips: This is one of the more difficult titles to obtain, but it's still not too hard once you know how. Start a new game and kill everyone you see until the Aoto Gang and Magistrates are attacking you on sight. Go to either of their Job Brokers and take the job to kill members of the opposing group. Kill everyone you can with instant kills until the time period is over (don't worry about pay), and then go to the other side's Job Broker to get their version of the same job. Rinse and repeat until you get 300+ instant kills. Save up some healing items in other games to make this more easy. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending to get this title. 8. Wealthy How to obtain: Finish the game with 8000+ mon. Tips: This is easily done by working for either the Magistrates or the Aoto Gang. By the time you complete the job to kill the opposing Job Broker, you should easily have enough money for this title. 9. Wild Killer How to obtain: Get 300 total kills in a single game. Tips: You can use the same method for Quick Killer as long as you stay under 300 instant kills. Get 300 instant kills, and you'll get Quick Killer. If you can prefer, this title is also easily obtained by running around ruthlessly killing everyone for the entire game. There's more than enough time in a game. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending to get this title. 10. Silent How to obtain: Never talk to NPCs. Respond only when necessary in cut scenes. Tips: You can just hurry through the game as I advice for Consummator, but make sure you lose at least 1000 HP over the course of the game or you'll get Consummator instead of this. Pick a few fights to make this happen. Danpachi and Dojima are good characters to attack to lose life as quickly as possible. B) Center Column Titles 1. Frugal How to obtain: Finish the game with 3000-7999 mon. Never spend mon. Tips: This is easily done on any story path accept a Sayo path (since you have to spend 1000 mon to teach her to read). Just get 3000 mon and get an ending. 2. Worthless How to obtain: Get arrested 7 times. Tips: By far, the easiest way to get this title is to take Collection jobs from the Aoto Gang and get spotted by a Magistrate while threatening your target. You may want to get 2800 mon before doing this so you can bail yourself out of jail. If you can't post bail, time will advance causing your to lose a day. It may be tempting to try and get arrested by attacking the Magistrates; however, this is just as likely to get you killed as arrested, so I don't recommend it. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending to get this title. 3. Sword Lover How to obtain: Title any 10 swords in one game. Tips: Collect 10 swords that have at least 30 in Attack or Defense. Such swords can be titled by the 30+ attribute without any other upgrading. Just get any 10 such swords, bring them into a single game, get 5000 mon, and get to titling. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 4. Workaholic How to obtain: Successfully complete 20+ jobs. Tips: Work for whatever group you think has the easiest jobs. Sleep at least once to avoid getting the Revitalizer title. You'll have more time to complete jobs if you follow a story path up to festival time, but you can then abandon that story path if necessary. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 5. Amorous How to obtain: Stay at the Amakaze Inn 10+ times in a single game. Tips: Just get 4000 mon and go to it. Don't forget that you can use the Amakaze Inn at Late Night and Early Morning even though it looks closed. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 6. Talentless How to obtain: Fail 10+ jobs. Tips: Take any 10 jobs. Go to Otsuka-cho and take a nap each time instead of completing them. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 7. Evil Lord How to obtain: Attack dead opponents 150+ times. Tips: Start a new game. First chance you get, kill anyone and kick the resulting corpse 150 times. Congratulations, you're an Evil Lord. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. In fact, I recommend doing so since you won't get many points for this title. 8. Garrulous How to obtain: Talk to NPCs a lot. Tips: Unfortunately, this is the title I have the least information about. I don't know the exact number of times you need to talk to someone, but you can continue talking to the same person over and over and have it count. You don't have to get an ending for this title, so when you get tired of doing this, save and exit Amahara. If you don't get this title, just reload and keep talking. 9. Sword Abuser How to obtain: Break 10 swords in a single game. Tips: Play an Easy game since swords with 1 durability will be more common. Get 10 of them and break them. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. 10. Junk How to obtain: Faint from running out of EP twice in a single game. Tips: There's no special trick to this. Just never recharge EP in any way until you run out twice. You can leave Amahara without getting an ending for this title. I have a feeling this title is a bit of a mistranslation from the original Japanese. It's apparently better translated as "Worn Out," which makes more sense. C) Right Column Titles The Right Column Titles are all obtained by earning a Samurai Rating in the correct range without fulfilling the requirements for any of the Left or Center Column Titles. I don't have much exact advice for most of these - just vary the "honor" of your actions in each game until you get the desired title. Also, keep in mind that the default Samurai Rating seems to vary by difficulty level (making, for instance, the Nobody title easiest to get on Easy). You don't have to get an ending to get any of these titles, so you can experiment with leaving Amahara at different times to get any titles that are eluding you. Here are the Samurai Ratings to shoot for: 1. Samurai King (100-119.9%) 2. Supreme (90-99.9%) 3. Prodigy (80-89.9%) 4. Master (70-79.9%) 5. Famed (60-69.9%) 6. In Training (50-59.9%) 7. Ordinary (40-49.9%) 8. Novice (30-39.9%) 9. Thug (20-29.9%) 10. Nobody (0-19.9%) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III.
