Tricks ------------------- ~~Basic Tricks~~ *Carves: Large smooth turns on the face of the wave. *Pumping: Moving up and down on the face of the wave. This helps the surfer to gain speed. *Snap turns: Pressing the B button at the top of the wave will execute a snap turn back down the face of the wave. Depending on where the snap turn isexecuted on the wave, the surfer will have different results. If a snap turn is attemptedat the bottom of a wave,it will fail, and the surfer will momentarily lose balance. *Ollies/Airs: Holding down the A button puts the surfer into a crouch. When crouching, thesurfer can’t turn as well, but maintains speed better. Once the A button is released, the surfer jumps. Jumps on the face of the wave result in ollies. Jumps heading up with faceof the wave to the lip result in airs. *Floaters: If the Y button is held at the top of a wave, the surfer will execute a floater. While in a floater, the user must try to keep the glowing ball asclose to the center of the floater meter as possible. If the ball goes off the ends of the meter, the surfer wipes out. Once the Y button is released, the surfer returns to normal surfing. *Barrel: When the surfer is inside of the area when the wave is crashing overhead, he/she’s in the barrel. To get deeper into the barrel, the surfer can use the X button to slow down. *Fakie: When a surfer intentionally surfs backwards, he’s surfing fakie. There are various ways to end up in fakie, and various ways to exit fakie. Experiment with different methods of getting in fakie. Once in fakie, the easiest way to get back surfing forwards is to use the B button. ~~Advanced Tricks Snaps~~ *180 Snap turn: When the surfer is facing to the left of the screen move the thumbstick from the right, counter-clockwise to the left, then press the B button at the top of the wave. When the surfer is facing right, start from the left, then move clockwise to the right, then press the B button at the top of the wave. *360 Snap turn: When the surfer is facing to the left of the screen move the thumbstick from the right, counter-clockwise all the way around to the right again, then press the B button at the top of the wave. When the surfer is facing right, start from the left, then move clockwise all the way around to the left again, then press the B button at the top of the wave. *Reversal: A reversal is executed basically like a reversed 180 snap turn. When the surfer is facing to the left of the screen move the thumbstick from the left, clockwise to the right, then press the B button at the top of the wave. When the surfer is facing right, start from the right, then move counter-clockwise to the left, then press the B button at the top of the wave. ~~Airs~~ *Left-hand grab 1: When in the air pull the left trigger *Right-hand grab 1: When in the air pull the right trigger *Two-handed grab 1: When in the air pull the left and right triggers *Two-handed grab 2: When in the air pull left and right triggers + X button *Left-hand grab 2: When in the air pull left trigger + X button *Right-hand grab 2: When in the air pull right trigger + the X button ~~Flip Tricks~~ *Kick Flip: Hold the A button, then on the thumbstick move up, down, then release the A button. *Heel Flip: Hold the A button, then on the thumbstick move down, up, then release the A button. *Shuvit 360: Hold the A button, then on the thumbstick move up, right, down, then release the A button. Floaters: *Boardslide floater: Hold the Y button + move left on thumbstick direction towards the wave. *Crooked floater: Hold the Y button + move right on thumbstick direction towards the wave. ~~Special tricks~~ *By executing tricks, a surfer’s Trick Meter begins to fill. *Once the Trick Meter reaches max, special tricks can be executed. *Special tricks are done by executing combinations of up, down, right, and left on the left thumbstick and hold. *Each surfer has a different combination of special tricks. See the Surfer Bios and Special ------------------- V. Tips ------------------- *Surfing a wave all the way in requires that you start at the area where the wave starts to break then surf until it ends. *Some goals can only be completed if you catch a specific wave. In the wave select screen after calling the Reef girls, look for the corresponding icon for specific level objectives. The icon on the wave will be the same as in the list of level objectives. *Difficult waves have more peaks and spilling sections. *Hazardous waves have obstacles in the water. *Speed is key to getting big air. *Maintain a steady stream of tricks for huge combos. *Some tricks can be linked together to create one trick. For example, the Roundhouse Cutback is a cutback into a snap turn. *If you need to “spray" something, it’s best to execute a Snapturn at the top of the wave. *"Scaring" a bird from a wave requires the surfer to jump as close to it as possible. *Freeing the dolphins requires you to surf through the net they are caught in. *Calling Reef girls by pressing Y when lying on the board or after a wipeout can save you a lot of time. *If your wipeout is too extreme or if you land on the beach, an emergency Reef girl will come to rescue you. *Max Trick Meter + Max Good or Bad Karma Meter gives surfer’s special bonuses. *Be sure to manage the clock wisely in competition or you may end up with just one great wave, and no points on any other. ------------------- VI.Characters ------------------- Rochelle Ballard Rochelle is a hellwoman. She charges harder than most of the guys and can lay it on rail with the best of them. Rochelle is a barrel-rider extraordinaire so you will find her in the tube more often than on the beach. Walkthrough ------------------- At the beginning of the game you start with a very crapy fish. It really has no speed or air added to it. It has some decent handling but it does the job for the simple goals of Kirra Point... Kirra Point: Queensland, Australia Size: Small Weather: Clear Skies Population: Low Water: Warm Hazards: None To Unlock: 0 Goals Complete Wave Types: All *Mid-Day - Score 10,000 Points ~ This is a pretty easy goal to acomplish. Just hit a few tricks and you should easily get 10,000 points. Try to start getting used to getting that score multiplyer up now so you can get some good practice for sick point goals later. - Do a 3 Trick Combo ~ Another easy goal, just three tricks. Any tricks will work. A few airs, floaters, anything. - Carve 3 Cutbacks on One Wave ~ Pretty much all you have to do here is turn around towards the barrel three times. Just go down the line, turn around and repeat three times. - Free 8 Dolphins From the Tuna Nets ~ Start this goal by calling for the Reef Girl. Once she picks you up just kinda chill for a minute and wait for a new Hazardous Wave to appear in the line up. One should appear around 2:51 on the timer. Tip: Use the right thumbstick to get a better view of whats going on infront of you. *Sunrise - Score 15,000 Points ~ Again, just like the 10,000 Points, just hit a few tricks, get your multiplyer up to about X6 or X7 and you should be fine. - Scare 5 Birds from the Wave ~ These goals are by far the most anoying in the game. It requires so muhc timing and practice to be able to do any jumping goals. The way to scare of these birds is by jumping and hitting them while you are in the air, this one is the easiest in the game. You need to make sure you are really good at hitting big airs and landing them. The first two birds are easy to get, they are right at the beginning of the Normal Wave right infront of you at the start. Just get the Reef Girl to get you on that wave and hit those two in a few jumps. The third bird will appear a few seconds after you have hit the second bird. The third bird is the easiest to get, it flys low and is not really that much further ahead. Once you get him the fourth and fifth bird will apear flying side by side. You have to get these two as soon as possible because the wave will start to die down very soon. The fourth bird will go off towards the wave first making it easier to get and then once he does that you can hit him. The last bird is the hardest. Everytime I do this goal I always get it as soon as the wave dies. Just keep jumping up until the bird gets close enough to scare off. - Surf the Entire Difficult Wave to the End ~ First you have to call a Reef Girl to take you to this wave. You have to wait about 20 seconds before a new Difficult Wave will show up, as soon as it does, GET ON IT. You must not wipe out on this wave, do not bail until you see the goal completion pop up on the screen. Watch out on this wave, there are many peaks that like to pop up randomly. JUst get down the line and enjoy the ride. - Air 2 Wave Peaks ~ It is really righteous if you are able to pull this goal off the same time you are trying to ride this wave all the way in. That is a little harder, because when you try to jump the peaks it can be hard to land most of the time and that will ruin the ride. It is best to do this goal on a new Difficult Wave, that way you can see all of the peaks starting to form and you will have more time. Start *Pictures - This dude can be found about a minute down the line on a new Normal wave. You might have to be back towards the barrel a little bit for him to see you, but you still have alot of face to hit lip tricks and airs. - You can find this dude hanging around the fifth dolphin net in the mid-day level. Its best to get this picture while you are freeing the 8 dolphins. Just hit a simple trick like a kick flip when he sees on you. That way you can still stay in a straight line towards the dolphin net. *Secret Spot -Found: Bottom Left corner by the rock wall, Sunrise -Goal: Do a 45 second barrel on a Difficult Wave ~ Most of the secret spot goals will not be as easy as this. Most are close to impossible. This one is pretty easy. Just catch a difficult wave right as it forms and get in the barrel. Make sure you stay close to the front incase it decides to break again up ahead and you can link the two together. *Competition - Globe Kirra Cup -This compatition is a very easy one to win. Since this is probably your first competition I will give you a rundown on how they work. In Transworld Surf your score on each wave is very important. You get 3 Minutes to catch as many waves as you can. Your top three waves will be the ones that are judged. From what I have seen the waves really are not judged. They just give you a point score for how high of a score you get on the wave. There are three rounds you must make it past before you can win. The first round there are three surfers that are out int the water with you. The top two surfers in your heat will advance the the 2nd round. In the second heat the top two surfers will advance. Then you have the finals. A 1 on 1 surfing duel. You have to win this one. You can not just get in the top to to advance. This one is a must win. Just try to get some good combos going and you should be fine in this compatition. The conditions for this compatition are Normal and Hazardous waves, alot like it is during mid-day. When you win this competition you will win a new fish. Make sure you hit take new board. You will need it. Hossegor: France Size: Small Weather: Clear/Overcast Population: Moderate Water: Cold Hazards: Bunkers To Unlock: 5 Goals Complete Wave Types: *Mid-Day - Score 20,000 Points - Do a 6 Trick Combo - Execute 3 Snap Turns on One Wave - Ollie 4 Bunker Walls *Morning - Score 25,000 Points - Surf a 5,000 Point Normal Wave all the Way - Shoot the Bunker Section - Car 3 Roundhouse Cutbacks on One Wave *Pictures - One can be found a little ways down the line of a new breaking Normal Wave in the Mid-Day. It isnt hard to get him to take your picture either, just hit a good air or cutback and you should be fine. - The other picture can be found while trying to shoot the bunker section in the morning. FaQs ------------------- Q: How do i get codes to work? A: To get the codes to work you must first earn them, then you can use them. Some problems that I have seem most people have is not hitting the back button or not entering the code in a steady pattern. Try that and see if it works any better. Q: How do i earn the all levels one? A: I really dont think that is a real code...from everybody I have talked to it has never worked. I have beaten the game with all of the characters and I have never seen it show up in the game. ------------------- XI.
