Challenge Mode is back, and oh man, it's a killer. For the Veteran TS players you know what's up here, but for those of you who are new to TS. Challenge Mode is very similar to the Arcade Leagues. The only difference is, you do pretty much everything on your own. Along with no sort of game mode(DM, CTB, ETC). Plus, it's much harder. Paintball and Circus seem to be awarded only after totally completing Challenge Mode. So if your last challenge was "Hit Me Baby One Morgue Time" Then you would get those 2 unlocks. UPDATE: Paintball seems to be the only reward for completing Challenge Mode. Circus is unlocked after beating "Dam Bursters". (Information provided by, Erik Carpenter) *--------------------------* *4.0 Additional Information* *--------------------------* Some of the unlocks may be unclear in the sections above, that is why I wrote this up. Also some misc stuff I threw in that seemed kind of cool. Enjoy. ----------------------- 4.1 Mini-game Cartidges ----------------------- Throughout TimeSplitters 2 you might come across a mini-game cart. There are 3 in total and I have only been able to track down 2 of them. A small summary of the game and where you can find it are available. Once you have collected the game cartidge you can replay it anytime by selecting your Temporal Uplink and pressing the reload button(like if you wanted to reload your gun). ----------------------------- -The Anaconda Game Cartridge- ----------------------------- Anaconda or "Snake" as many cell phone owners call it, is a game where you start as a small snake and work your way around collecting points. As you gather more points, your snake becomes longer(wait!, that didn't sound right....). If you run into yourself or if you hit the white wall it's GAME OVER man. You can track this cool game cartridge down in 1900 Siberia on any difficulty. After you enter the main facility when your temporal uplink says "Time Crystal Located" After turning around the corner there will be 2 guards and a couple of shelves with melons on them. The shelf on the far left wall holds this item. -------------------------------- -The Astrolander Game Cartridge- -------------------------------- Astrolander is somewhat of a old game back when I was just a little kid. the only time I remember playing it was at the Exploritoriam in San Francisco. This game is pretty simple yet complicated at the same time. You try to land your little ship(that little blue triangle) in the small spot at the buttom of the map. You have to use the X button (may be different for other platforms, GCN, XBOX) in order to balance yourself out and gently land your ship. Becareful, you only have a certain amount of fuel, so watch it. Points are awarded for: Fuel, Landing Speed, and Landing Accuracy. This can be found in 2019 NeoTokyo on NORMAL in the second to the last locker on the right side [use activate to open it] in the room with the police laptop. -------------- 4.2 Silly Hats -------------- *New Hat Available???: As you progress through league and challenge mode, you may come across something like this. What you have is a part of a cheat called "Silly Hats". This cheat only works in Arcade Custom, and gives your bots/friends a little suprise on top of their heads. Silly Hats is automatically unlocked once you unlock your first hat. 10/26 Update!!!!!: NightmareSabin has been kind enough to take his own time and figure this little extra thing out for the Silly Hats cheat. It appears that only certain characters can wear silly hats. That is why some of you, when playing, didn't know why or if the cheat even did anything. The list above is his work and in it's original form. ---------- 4.3 Awards ---------- *Do I need Silver/Gold/Platinum to unlock anything?? In Arcade League only, what award you get depends on what you unlock. So, Bronze may net you only 1 unlock while Silver might get you 2. As far as I know, getting Gold will get you everything on that certain league game. Challenge Mode however it only appears that you need to at least get Silver to unlock everything on a perticular Challenge. *Holy **** I got a Platinum, what do I get? To anyones knowledge, Platinums at this point seem to do nothing. As the community continues to collect more Platinum Awards, more goodies may become available. As for now, they do jack as far as unlocking stuff. ----------------------- 4.4 Aztec Pillar Puzzle ----------------------- I had my good half hour trying to figure this one out, and when I finally did, I felt like a big idiot. I know a LOT of you are having the same headaches as I was so I made it just a little bit easier for you. I know, a co-worker of mine called me up AT WORK and he was just going crazy over just this. The breakdown: You can turn the pillars counter-clock wise only by using the activate button [Playstation 2 default is X]. Suggestion before going this far, be sure the clear the area of melon throwing monkeys and any Aztec Warriors chasing after you. The solution is provided below, sorry for the legend, I didn't know what to call certain symbols.
