-------------- Tetsujin 28-Go -------------- ------------------------------------------- A Word Before We Get Down To The Real Talk: ------------------------------------------- This F.A.Q. is only for the Boss Battles/Story Mode for Hard mode. I will not cover the Challenge Mode or any mode other than the Story Mode. So if anybody have anything to add, please do so. Otherwise... do not bother. Strategies, corrections, notes, or anything to help to make the F.A.Q. better for the gamers, you are welcome. Other than that, sit back and enjoy life... Oh, one more thing. This FAQ is completely SPOILER-FREE, so be warned! ======================================================= ------ Notes: ------ When you start the Story Mode, a menu will come up: - Game Start. When you select it, you will be able to select the chapter you want (after Chapter 2). You will notice five cups beside every chapter. Each one will light when you finish the chapter (depends on what difficulty). Thus, you will be able to have a full percentage by completing them all. You press Circle to continue with five other options, Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Extreme... or X to go back. - Second option in the main menu is the Power Up section. This is to Power Up Tetsujin (EXP/Money) and make it very powerful. When you press the circle button, another three options come up: 1)First option, Power Up the HP. Second Option, go back to the Power Up menu. 2)Second option, Power Up his Jab, Punch, Chop, Upper, Straight, Throw, Flying Kick, Lunge, Rocket and Descent (Dive attack) 3)Third option, Back. - Third option in the main menu is to Save your progress in the game. - Fourth option is to Set Up sound, voice, BGM, vibration and so on. Nothing imporatnt other than the Vibration. - The fifth and last option takes you back to Tetsujin 28-Go main menu. ======================================================= ------------------ Legends & Control: ------------------ While playing, by pressing the Start Button, you will see four options: 1)Continue (playing). 2)Restart the battle (if you know you are going down, you might need it) 3)Go back to the Power Up menu. 4)Set Up menu (explained above). ========= Tetsujin: ========= Jab = Square Button Punch = Circle Button Hook = Hold Circle Button (or Square) until the green color Chop = Hold Circle Button (or Square) until the red color Upper = Hold Square Button until the yellow color Straight = Hold Circle Button until the yellow color Rush/Lunge = Triangel Button Rocket Charge = Hold Triangel Button until the red color Flying Kick = Hold Triangel Button until the green color Dive Attack = Hold Triangel Button until the red color Throw = X Button Dodge = Twice right or left Fly Tetsujin = R1 Come Tetsujin = R2 Defend = L1 Select = Control or uncontrol Tetsujin ========= Shoutaro: ========= Punch = Square or Circle Button Jump = X Button Select = Control or uncontrol Tetsujin Come Tetsujin = R2 ========= Morasumi: ========= Knifes = Square or Circle Button Jump = X Button P.S. Charged Rush can only be used when the Pwer Bar gets Blue. Dive Attack is a Super Move and can only be used when your Power Bar gets full (yellow). ======================================================= ------------ A Must Read: ------------ Before going to kick the crap out of any boss you should really check and do some important things: - Always look at your status if you are not doing good against any boss in the game. Which means, power-up Tetsujin enough if you are not doing any good. - Items are good if you are low with the HP. So, when you see one try to pick it up. They do make your fights better. There are three types, red Heart type for Shoutaro to heal himself... blue Repair type to repair Tetsujin and the green diamond type is for the EXP/money (pretty useful). - Try to boost everything to do well. Like Rocket Charge, Throw, Jabs, Chop and so on. - If you are out of ideas, picking up pieces of the environment is always a good thing. That would be all. I will rank each boss with a "*", example, Black Ox ***/*****, which means 3 out of five! This is just to give a clue to the new players, nothing much. ======================================================= -------------------- Combination Attacks: -------------------- Note that the following combos will not 100% work all the time because "most" of them depend on the opponent, position, and places (they ruin the combos). Once you know how they work, you will use them as you like. I will not repeat them with the strategy (only if needed), so you should now them right now: 1)Upper (uppercut), Straight - 2)Rush (normal rush attack), Jab, Throw (if near) - 3)Rush, Charged Rush (Rocket Charge) - 4)Hook, Upper, Chraged Rush - 5)Chop (circle), Upper, Flying Kick - 6)Upper, Straight, Dive Attack (my favorite) - 7)Square Hook, Circle Hook, Square Hook, Circle Hook, Straight/Rocket Charge - 8)Square Hook, Circle Hook, Rush, Charged Rush - 9)Hook, Upper, Throw - 10)Hook, Upper, Rush, Charged Rush - 11)Hook, Upper, Chop, Throw - 12)Chop, Throw, Dive Attack P.S. Notice a few of them are not combos but most likely string attacks to not give your opponent time to attack back. ======================================================= --------- Chapter 1 (difficulty: */*****) --------- This is a blast. You are here to bust up the X building. So, throw the X guys and when you are done having fun, press the triangel button near the building to knock it down. ======================================================= --------- Chapter 2 (difficulty: */*****) --------- This is another easy mission. The opponent is not so smart and hardly can do anything to write home about. As soon as the match starts, pick up anything near you and then throw it at the opponent. Then get to the robot and do double jabs and then press the triangel for a heavy attack. When he is down, try to get close to Tetsujin (if you are far) so that you can see better. Then hold down the circle button for a heavy punch, then release it. repeat until the end. ======================================================= --------- Chapter 3 (difficulty: **/*****) --------- The first thing you have to do is get to the joker and punch him in the face. ^_^ Now, get far from his robot and call the mighty Tetsujin with the R2 button. After the calssic pose, do the same strategy for Chapter 2. Just becareful, distance is the best in here (when you are not controlling Tetsujin). ======================================================= --------- Chapter 4 (difficulty: None) --------- Greetings to the best robot in the series, Black Ox. Shame that joker is controling him. ^_^ Well, this is a fast battle. The mighty Black Ox will make you feel pity for Tetsujin, really! You can make the match get as long as you like, the outcome is the same. You aren't ready to face him him yet... ======================================================= --------- Chapter 5 (difficulty: **/*****) --------- Tetsujin is mad and wants to kick Black Ox so bad. So, let's do it to free the robot from the joker's hands. ^_^ As the Doc. said, use the buildings to your advantage. Use the X button a lot here (do not forget to aim) whenever you want to uncontrol Tetsujin to punch the joker. All you have to do is get a free hit by uncontroling Tetsujin (select button) and then fast punch the joker and FAST control Tetsujin again and hit the triangel button (for the rush attack). While Black Ox is down, hold the square and circle buttons togther and when he gets up, give him a nice blow. Defend when he is about to attack you. When he uses his thunder or missiles-like attacks, uncontrol him and run towards the joker and hit him. Be always close to him so that you could hit him whenever his does something nasty to Tetsujin. Congratulations on your victory (thanks Bandai for the awesome BGM)... ======================================================= --------- Chapter 6 (difficulty: **/*****) --------- Three robots want to kick you so bad. Well, they are not that hard. The strategy is simple, hold the square and circle buttons and when they get near you, bomb. Then fast rush at them to not give them time to attack and so to get distance. Nothing new here. Just more number of robots. Nothing more... ======================================================= --------- Chapter 7 (difficulty: **/*****) --------- This fight is a bit different than before. The classic robot, Baccus, has nasty moves such as Fire Beam, Spinning Kick and Flying Punch and an uppercut. Blocking is good here. He charges a bit before performing the Fire Beam, so rush them with the triangel button. Then charge your square and circle buttons for heavy attacks. When you get hit, uncontrol him and punch the joker. The problem is when you are near the joker's guys. They will really try to hit you. So, go somewhere far and still can see everything clearly. Just do not let him perform the Fire Beam... ======================================================= --------- Chapter 8 (difficulty: **/*****) --------- Now you fight against three of the same above robot (Baccus). Stick with the same strategy mentioned above. But you might want to do a combo, hold the square button then uppercut the robot, before he reaches the ground, fast press the triangel button for the rush attack. When the robots are close to you. Let Tetsujin hold you and then fly to somewhere safe and continue. You can land on a roof and control Tetsujin from there. Very neat. The joker is still standing and not about to give up... ======================================================= --------- Chapter 9 (difficulty: ***/*****) --------- Shoutaro is tried and cannot run. He can hardly walk. This is not a plus. Call Tetsujin by the R2 button and let him pick you up as the Doc. recommended you to do. Then take off to where the #27 first two robots are. Land in a safe place and do the usual tactic. Then pick Shoutaro up again and take off to the other two #27 robots. Now land in a safe spot and the first thing you have to do is get rid of the joker's guys as they can harm you a bit. So throw them off and rush at the robots. Do again the same strategy and if anybody gets near Jotaro, let Tetsujin safe him. And do not plan to fight near Shoutaro. Just take it to anywhere else. Now the joker is happy that you cannot punch him in this match. ^_^ ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 10 (difficulty: **/*****) ---------- This Chapter is rather funny, since you hear everyone warning you for Gilbert's attacks and such, but he is not. He can be a pain if you let him walk freely. His Beam Strike is a pain and makes Tetsujin fly off (from the pain) very far away. His Spinning kick or Punch is easily painful. He does a lot of damage in no time. The thing is, the rush attack that Tetsujin has is so powerful. Gilbert hardly defends anything. And if he defends the rush attack, keep pressing the triangel button for a further rush. He will go down with time. Remember, whenever he is down, hold the square and circle buttons for heavy attacks when he gets up and then continue with the rush attack for a nice combo. When you are stuck, fly... always fly. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 11 (difficulty: */*****) ---------- Joker is out and Mr. Plus thinks that he can take Tetsujin down so he goes off to kick Tetsujin with a stupid robot that I used to laugh at back in the series. Well, you guessed it (maybe). Monster! This match is easy and Monster does not have many effective moves, but he does damage alright. He still has the Fire Crush attack which he used to have back in the series, but it is not that good. First kill all of Mr. Plus' guys and then go and take down Monster with your rush attack and the same old strategy which is hold the square and circle button down and when he gets near you, bomb. And then rush again. When he does the Fire Crush for no reason, pick up a very nice and huge building and then crush his laughable face with it. If he moves a lot, then uncontrol Tetsujin and then go punch Mr. Plus' face and continue kicking Monster's behind. Then you will see the classic laughable escape by Monster. Man, he really cracks me up when he flies! ^_^ ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 12 (difficulty: **/*****) ---------- Joker meets with Mr. Plus and tells him that he is not doing any better but Mr. Plus happily says that Tetsujin might be strong but what is he without Shoutaro? So, the dirty trick is known for everyone. Mr. Plus will use Monster's dirty move Baby Monsters to make them hit Jotaro and then Mr. Plus on the other hand can knock Tetsujin down with Monster. But that will never be done. Do the same strategy as above. When Moster rises his both hands, then he will perform the Baby Monsters move. So, do the rush attack to not make him perform it. And if he performs it, then kill the babies by picking them up and then throw them. If they get near you and Tetsujin is far away, then uncontrol when you do the rush attack and fast run to him. He will have time to recover and by the time he does that, you will have the time to get near him. Wakata?! ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 13 (difficulty: ***/*****) ---------- This fight is the same as the above one but against three Monster robots. ^_^ The key to win this fight is in three steps: 1- Rush attack. 2- Calling Tetsujin while running away from baby monsters. 3- Defending. You do not have to do jabs, chops or anything. Ruch with the rush attack like crazy because you are facing three Monsters. The rush attack can go through the Fire crush move, so that is a plus. The Monster will perform the Baby Monsters a lot so you have to run when they get near you and call Tetsujin while running. Let him kill them and get the money. One by one will go down if you stay with the strategy. Whenever your veiw is blocked, run and call Tetsujin with you to a better place. When they do the Dive attack, defend or get back to make them miss. When they group against you get very far and perform the powerful Dive Strike. It will CRUSH them easily. Even on Hard mode. Mr. Plus is shocked of the results. He really does not realize that Monster is just a stupid robot, nothing more... nothing less. Therefore he has been arrested for what he has done... so buzz off. ^_^ ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 14 (difficulty: */*****) ---------- Back to the joker (X) who does not seem to be surprised of what happened. Surely he is happy for it. You are about to face more than ten strange robots of the same type. Shoutaro thought that they belong to the X guys but not after he saw them running from the robots and not helping them to kill you. So, he is confused. They are very easy. Rush like crazy and then call Tetsujin to a safe place. When they gather around you, charge the triangel button for the Flying Kick move. There is a very nice hospital in the southern side of the map. Very huge and beautiful, be sure to pick it up and smash any robot with it. Thank you! Remember, if Tetsujin is heavily wounded (or you), collect the heal items after you kill any robot. They repair Tetsujin and heal you. The heart type is for you to heal yourself and the repair blue type is for Tetsujin to repair it. DO NOT waste Tetsujin's time to collect them. Let Tetsujin rush in a safe place and then while he is rushing, uncontrol him and go run collect them. Or simply let him fly and then while he is having a very nice day flying, go collect them and then call him back. That is all. This mission is easy. By now you know that the missions from now on will be longer and harder (not all) so be fully prepared. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 15 (difficulty: **/*****) ---------- More good for nothing uncontrolled robots. Nobody controls them therefore we will do it the easy way. You will fight more than twenty-four robots. They will come at you six after six. Use the exact strategy above. But here be really careful because they do more damage. Not to worry, as soon as you kill some of them and be wounded a bit, Black Ox will help. Very emotional. Nobody can do a thing as long as Black Ox is around. His moves kill the enemies in no time. Thanks to Bandai again for the very emotional BGM. Very nice indeed. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 16 (difficulty: */*****) ---------- Well, well... well! So the one who was controling them all along was Roby! I thought he would show up now or then. This mission is so short if you want to finish it fast. You can either kill the robots or wait for some moments until your friends tell you where to go and then they will locate Roby for you. Just go to his location and then have Tetsujin squash him like a bug and that is it for this chapter. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 17 (difficulty: ***/*****) ---------- The joker X is back in business again... and boy he is smarter than before. He surely learned from his mistakes. You will fight an easy robot but the problem is X now knows Tetsujin's weak point and that is Jotaro. He orders his men to attack you and that means Shoutaro. While his only focus will be on Tetsujin. He does a lot of damage now. That joker! His men are around 30-40 guys and will not let you control Tetsujin freely. So, let Tetsujin pick you up and then only thrash joker's robot by rush repeatedly. Do not let Shoutaro fall and if he does then pick him up again. The guys will not be able to touch and you will still control Tetsujin but without having effective moves (some). You will be stuck with the rushing attack, and flying Kick, charge attacks but the effect is not the same... but something is always better than nothing. That joker! ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 18 (difficulty: **/*****) ---------- It seems after the beat up, X's plan worked alright and he managed to get his filthy hands on Tetsujin's controller! Way to go joker. Jotaro managed to escape though. And now the joker is using Tetsujin for his pathetic evil deeds. Jotaro realizes that there is no use escaping since the result is the same which is Tetsujin will be used for evil deeds, but well, you will still have to escape. You have to servive the battle by running around with Shoutaro. Joker's men will follow you to kill you with their "MATEI, MORATA, JOTARO" quotes and after sometime it will end. The chapter is however, not over yet. Morasumi gets behind X and tells him (with complete ease) that he is going to get Tetsujin and the controller back to where they belong, but of course, Mr. Know-it-all does not give up. My favorite BGM plays here, so we are off to kick him bad with Morasumi. Morasumi is powerful with his knifes. He can kill anyone with one shot. So, you can either kill his men and collect some money or kick X's hairy behind and regain everything. Kill all of them and then go take X on. After the first shot, he will call Tetsujin. Becareful because Tetsujin can kill you with only two jumps. He will squash you easily. So, just keep attacking X until he falls then runs away like a rat. ^_^ ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 19 (difficulty: **/*****) ---------- Morasumi gives everything to Shoutaro and boy you can notice how gratful Jotaro is. X does not give up and thinks of something else, but a bald guy comes in and tells him that he will take care of both Jotaro and Tetsujin with his new robot. The fight begins. His robot is not all that powerful. He has a beam attack and some heavy punches. The thing that you should worry about the most is the Fire Birds. They do not let Tetsujin alone. You better take care of the bald's robot fast so that you won't lose HP just because of some birds firing at you constantly. Just do the basic combo. Uppercut and then heavy punch (hold square and circle to the limit). Rush when things get dirty. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 20 (difficulty: */*****) ---------- This is very easy. All you need to do is let Tetsujin pick Shoutaro up and go to where Taka is. You have to rescue her. Kick X's robot and his men until the police car arrives and take her to a safe place. Then the joker's robot and men are all yours. The robot can perform an uppercut and it does some damage so becareful. The basic strategy to rush all the time while Jotaro on Tetsujin is a good idea. Be sure to do that until the very end. Or you can always kill the joker's men and then get down and control Tetsujin easily. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 21 (difficulty: ***/*****) ---------- This is a bit tough because joker's moves are more powerful and his robot has a lot of useful moves and take A LOT of damage. Also, his men are really a pain. They do not make you focus. Defend a lot and then respond with a combo like uppercut then rush or uppercut then Rocket Punch. Before his robot gets up, be ready for a heavy punch. Or when he is down, chop his robot up. Remember to defend. There is no shame in defending since you are keeping yourself alive. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 22 (difficulty: ***/*****) ---------- Isn't this Saturn? ^_^ Boy, he is as dumb and cool as ever. He still has his powerful moves. He poses before performing them so always DEFEND. While blocking, charge up your uppercut and Rocket Punch so that you could use them as a combo once he finish performing one of his moves. The city is so messed up and everyone is afraid, but Tetsujin gets the job well done. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 23 (difficulty: ***/*****) ---------- From now on you have to depend on the block button a lot, because it will make the matches much better for you and for Tetsujin. Even dodge... Fire Sensie really deserves the title. He is much better now. The robot has Double Fire Balls, Fire Beam and Fire Rain. Every move is better than the other. He charages before performing any move so that is a good thing. The Fire Beam is pretty fast so defend when he charges, and then he will recover. Take him. Same goes for the Double Fire Balls. Take a good place to watch and control Tetsujin greatly. The one move you should worry about the most is the Fire Rain because it takes range and DAMAGE. DO NOT let Shoutaro close when he performs this move. That goes for Tetsujin too. It takes about five seconds or so for this move to activate. So, what you need to do is let Tetsujin fly without landing again (R1) and then uncontol him and you two get far away from the move. You will be okay. Do not worry about Tetsujin because he will be still flying. After that, go collect hearts, repairs and money if needed and then control Tetsujin and call him again to continue the fight. And then continue with the same strategy until the very end. This is a very fun fight. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 24 (difficulty: ***/*****) ---------- While you were fighting Fire Sensie, the joker X attacked the Doc. and took Black Ox with him. Now you are in great danger since he plans on blowing up all Nippon (Japan) with his missiles and he has Black Ox with him to kick you. You can now take Black Ox on but you will be wasting your time. You need to blow every missile up before they luanch them. If Black Ox is near then rush and take care of the missiles. Simple but tough fight at the same time. You need to teach the joker not to miss with Black Ox ever again. After you are finished with the missiles, beat Black Ox up. When you are taking care of the missiles, try to throw some at Black Ox so that you can make him a little bit weak after blowing up all the missiles. Oh, Black Ox has a very powerful move and you cannot even defend it. He can paralyze you and then do whatever he wants (heavy attacks, of course). So, do not get near him when you see a thunder type on his head. That is the most powerful move he has. After that, yes... you guessed it. It is pay back time. The geezer thinks that he is going to run away to his place and activate his hidden missile, but Tetsujin gets the job done. I love the ending theme (if you are not playing on Hard or higher difficulty). Very classic. ======================================================= ---------- Chapter 25 (difficulty: ****/*****) ---------- If you are playing on Hard or higher difficulty then you will reach this chapter. Thus, unlock Black Ox after you beat this chapter. Can't wait to use Black Ox. ^_^ Damn it! The joker just does not want to die! Time to put this old joker fool to sleep for a long time. The is a tough chapter. I am playing on Hard mode so I am feeling the pain. The geezer is giving it all. The first three to fight you will be Saturn, Baccus and Gilbert. As soon as the match starts, rush and keep rushing and then Charge Rush for a heavy damage. Their HPs are not that high so you should knock them down fast. Do the best combos (and short) you have. Do not make them divide. Let them come at you by group and then blast them with the Rush, Charge Rush and Flying Kick. When you finish, stupid Monster and #27 will continue the assult. Take them on. They are pretty easy compared to Saturn and Gilbert together. Use the same strategy as above. Do not worry about the HP. Everytime you finish a group, your HP will be full at the start of the next one. Geez, you are going against both Fire Nensie and Fire Sensie. There are some nice buildings around you. They look nice and very HUGE, no? ^_^ How about picking them up and throwing them at them for a start? As soon as they fall, rush and then hold the attack button for some heavy attacks and combos. When they wake up, bomb and then throw or Charge Rush for a beautiful combo. If things get complicated, do not be ashamed to use the R1 or R2 button. Then start with the rushing again. Flying Kick, Dive Attack and Charge Rush are your best moves here. Be sure to use them A LOT. When Fire Sensie uses the Fire Rain move, R1 and be done with it. DO NOT forget to dodge a lot because they are pretty slow. That will help you. Pick money, hearts and repairs if needed. You will listen to a beautiful song while you kick the last robot. Very touching. ^_^ Anyway, ehm... X is out of ideas again and he feels sorry for his robots. He cannot believe it. He gets arrested for what he has done to this world, or Nippon. Shoutaro on the other hand feels sorry and amazed of the robots' powers like Black Ox, Gilbert and so on. But then cheers up that Tetsujin was and is always there to protect them and Shoutaro is very sure that robots were/are not made for evil deeds but if there are any, then Tetsujin will surely be there to get rid of those who believe in evil and use the robots for their own purpose(s). Sit back and enjoy the ending theme. You deserve it. ^_^ ======================================================= -------- Secrets: -------- by finishing the twenty-five chapters, you will unlock two things. 1)Videos of combos and some imformative matches. 2)All the robots for the Training mode, Challenge Mode and Vs. mode. In order to unlock Mission 35, 36, 37, 38 and 39 in Challenge Mode, you have to get all the Trophies in the Story Mode. Which means Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Extreme's Trophies. The list goes like this to unlock each mission in Challenge Mode: 1- Easy Trophies = Unlocks Mission 35 2- Normal Trophies = Unlocks Mission 36 3- Hard Trophies = Unlocks Mission 37 4- Very Hard Trophies = Unlocks Mission 38 5- Extreme Trophies = Unlocks Mission 39 Just a reminder. For the six locked missions in Challenge Mode, you need some passwords: 1)Bucchus 2)Suspense 3)Monster 4)Black Ox 5)Franken 6)Makimura ======================================================= ---------------- Last Words: ---------------- If you want to complete the percentage then you have to finish every chapter with the five difficulties (easy, normal, hard, very hard and extreme). You will see the finished Cup beside every chapter (lighted). And so to unlock five locked missions in Challenge Mode. So, try them.
