Conclusion ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I. Introduction ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Steambot Chronicles, you can ferry people and goods around the country for profit and fun. This is achievable by equipping back frames to your trotmobile. There are a total of three different areas you can venture into by equipping these back frames, and they are ferrying passengers around, digging for fossils, and last but not least, trading commodities. This FAQ is to serve as an introduction and guide to how to perform the abovementioned services and to list out benefits that you can get from doing so. These services are of course optional and are not necessary in anyway for you to complete the game, but they are a source of additional fun and can make your gaming experience more interesting. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ II. Passenger Service ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When leaving Nefroburg to depart for Sabbia Desert, you will encounter an event with the bus company where the bus drivers dare not service the bus lines outside the city due to fear of the bandits that roam the outlands. You will then be presented with a plate and given the option to ferry passengers around. In order to carry the passengers, you must first equip the Carriage as a back frame. The normal Carriage can carry 2 passengers while the advanced Wide Carriage can carry 6 passengers. To pick up your customer, talk to them at any of the bus stops located around the world. They will then tell you their destination and you can choose to accept their request or refuse it. Should you accept their request, you will have to bring them over to their destination and drop them off by examining the bus stop at their destination. You will be paid various amounts of money depending on the customer that you have ferried. If you decide to terminate their request, you can press the Select button to bring up a menu with the list of passengers you are currently carrying and select to drop off the passenger. But by doing so, your reputation will drop. Note: - The passengers you ferry have no plot relevance and are not involved in any quests except for Pablo the artist. By bringing Pablo around and purchasing his art pieces, you can introduce him to a university located at Happy Garland through the newspaper reporter. Completing this quest will reward you with a plate in the end. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ III. Fossil Hunting ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the Garland Globettroters depart for Happy Garland, you will be approached by Belmondo, curator of the Nefroburg Museum, to help him search for fossils and artifacts to exhibit at the museum. He will present you with a excavation license which will allow you to dig for fossils. Fossils can be obtained by digging at Wagtail Canyon. To obtain a fossil, attack the rock stratum at the places with a target. You can use any form of weapon to attack the stratum, but the best arm parts to use are the Pickaxe Arm and the Drill Arm as these two arms can dig out the fossil rocks with a single blow. Later on, you can also dig for giant fossils at Wagtail Canyon and Marlet Caverns. In order to carry the fossils, you need to attach a Flatbed to your trotmobile. The normal Flatbed can carry one normal fossil. The advanced Wide Flatbed can carry 3 normal fossils or a single giant fossil. After obtaining your fossil(s), you have to get them cleaned at the fossil cleaner located outside the museum at Nefroburg. Normal fossils cost 50 UR each to clean while a giant fossil costs 100 UR to clean. You can also obtain Coal and Amber from the cleaned fossils which cannot be sold to the museum. Those can be sold to the Deloche Emporium for money instead. The cleaned fossils and artifacts can either be sold to the museum by talking to Belmondo or you can keep them as decorations for your rented room. Depending on the rarity of the find, you can get various amounts of money, from 210 UR for the lower end to upwards of 735 UR for the higher end. Giant fossils are sold directly to Belmondo after cleaning and are worth 480 UR per piece. Each giant fossil can procure single to multiple pieces of the giant fossils. Artifacts can also be found by exploring the three dungeons that are available in the game. These artifacts can also be sold to Belmondo in the same manner as those evacuated from fossil digging. After the museum reopens when you return to Nefroburg, you can assemble the giant fossils that you have evacuated and exhibit them. You can also view the exhibits that you have sold to the museum. By collecting all the artifacts and returning them to the museum, you will get a plate for your efforts in helping to restore the Nefroburg Museum. Note: - Fossil digging is a great source of income in the early game when you are just starting out. By turning in the fossils, you can easily earn a few thousand UR to upgrade your trotmobile. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IIIA. Commodities Trading ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Commodities trading in Steambot Chronicles is similar to the trading system found in the Suikoden games, where you obtain goods and products from a region and sell it to another for profit. Though the profit from commodities trading is not a lot, it is still a viable means of income and can also help you earn a bit of extra money when you travel around the places for other purposes. In order to transport the goods around, you'll need to attach back frames to your trotmobile. These frames are the Tank, Basket, and the Flatbed. The basic form of these frames are sold at mechanics around the world and can carry a maximum of 3 goods at a time. By developing the advanced form of the carrier frame, you can increase the capacity to 8 goods. You can develop the advanced frames by purchasing 2 of the same type of basic frame. If you intend to venture into the trading business, it will be advisable to develop the advanced frames as soon as possible to maximise your profits. There are a total of 17 tradable goods in Steambot Chronicles. As far as I know, there is only one place to acquire the goods, but there can be multiple places where the goods can be sold. The trading goods are: - Spring Water - Wheat - Salt - Honey - Grass - Milk - Wine - Fish - Shark - Truffle - Mulberry Leaves - Dye - Silk - Carpet - Lumber - Iron Ore - Steel Beam Notes: - To obtain Shark, you have to attack them first and approach their floating bodies with a Flatbed attached to your trotmobile. There are two Sharks swimming in the water everytime you enter Seagull Beach. - Shark is probably the best trading commodity as you can get them for free and the best selling place is at Nefroburg Aphrodite Bar which is quite near to Seagull Beach. Not only so, you can also do this at night where time does not progress until you sleep, thus allowing you to continue this as long as you want. - Selling and buying price of all things double when the oil fields event happens, and only return to normal after the ending credits. This can be a good time to earn money if you intend to do so through trading as you'll essentially be earning twice the amount of money on a single trip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IVA.
