SD Gundam G-Generation Neo FAQ Version 0.4 Created by Michael Cox (dragen@aol.com) DISCLAIMER: This FAQ is written with the knowledge gained by playing the game. Any errors contained in it are due to my mistake in assuming how I did something. I welcome email helping to correct a mistake but will delete mail flaming me for making an error. This is done for fans of the game by another fan. If something doesn't work for you, I might not be able to explain why. As noted in almost all FAQs created during the last couple of years, the work contained in this document is owned and copyrighted by it's creator, Michael Cox, and is not to be used without permission. This FAQ was written specifically for the visitors to www.gamefaqs.com which is the only site I will be sending updates to. Though I play Japanese import games, I do not know the Japanese language. Hopefully that won't hinder the use of this FAQ too much. Acknowledgements: Thanks to Aguille Delaz for correcting two of the emblems. History: Version 0.1 - November 30th - December 15th Started gathering data while playing. Figured I had enough to upload the first version of the FAQ. I'm currently on Stage.18 with a profile rank of MS 68%, WS 61%, Character 70%, and Base 65%. Version 0.2 - December 15th - December 19th Nearing the end of my first game. Added in the Stages and Tech Level sections as best I could. Added additional Combining units and fixed typos in various sections along with two additional chapters. I'll be playing some while on Christmas vacation but likely won't be able to update this until I get back. Version 0.3 - December 19th - December 29th I've been away on vacation for two weeks but have continued to update this FAQ as best I can. Just complete the game my first time with a profile rank of MS 88%, WS 79%, Character 81%, and Base 81%. Version 0.4 - January 30th - February 14th Began playing again after finally hooking up my PS2 after it's month- long sitting in it's box after my vacation. I plan to do all the stages I didn't do my first time through the game. Then it should just be a matter of playing the game a third time, if necessary, to get the 5th Gundam Wing emblem I'll likely be missing. Currently at a profile rank of MS 98%, WS 97%, Character 98%, and Base 97% Glossary: Chapter 1 - How to Start Chapter 2 - Playing/Menu Translations Chapter 3 - Stats Chapter 4 - Option Parts Chapter 5 - Emblems Chapter 6 - Gundam Fight Chapter 7 - Evolution Chart Chapter 8 - Combining Chart Chapter 9 - Stage Chat Chapter A - Tech Level Chart ----------------------- CHAPTER 1: How to Start ----------------------- This game doesn't use previous SD Gundam G Generation data, so you can start a new game as soon as you want. I recommend you go through the Tutorial section and look through all of them even if you can't read Japanese. This seems to effect your gaining one of the original chracters later in the game. New Game = Starts a new game :) Load/Continue = Load will use one of the three saves you make after battle, Continue is for your single in-battle save. Gundam Fight = Check the section below on this. Gallery = Keeps track of what units/warships/characters/bases you've seen and will contain a CG movie viewer once you've beat the game, I'm told. This is the only way to look ahead to see what your newest MS will evolve into. Takes the place of Profile Mode from the earlier G Gen games. Once the game is beat the first time, you will be able to view the CG movies you earned in the game as well as having access to 100 BGM selections. Tutorial = Gives you the basics of the game. Option = All of these are offered in English also, so they should be self-explantory. ------------------------------------ CHAPTER 2: Playing/Menu Translations ------------------------------------ Alot of the menus are in English, so I haven't worked on this section yet. ---------------- CHAPTER 3: Stats ---------------- Unit Stats: Lv. EXP HP EN Mv Att Def Mob Space Air Land Water* Lv. = Level, ranging from 1-3, Ace (Lv 4), and Customized. EXP = Experience, how much exp you need until your unit reaches the next level. HP = Hit Points, how much damage the unit can take before being destroyed. EN = Energy, expended while attacking. Mv = Movement, how far your unit can move during a turn. Att = Attack Strength, the higher the Att, the more damage you can do. Def = Defense Strength, the higher the Def, the less damage you take. Mob = Mobility, the higher the Mob, the higher the team speed for turn placement. Space = How well the unit can move in Space terrain (*see below) Air = How well the unit can move in Air terrain (*see below) Land = How well the unit can move in Land terrain (*see below) Water = How well the unit can move in Water terrain (*see below) * Terrain ratings range from A to D, with a - meaning it can NOT move in that terrain at all. A is the best with D the worst. Pilot Stats: Lv. EXP Melee Shoot Dodge Agility* Awake MP Leader Operator Driver Mechanic Guest Lv. = Level, ranging from 1-30: Some Emblems require a certain pilot level. EXP = Experience, how much exp you need until your pilot reaches the next level. Melee = Effects your close range limit blocks, hit %, and other? Shoot = Effects your mid and long range limit blocks, hit %, and other? Dodge = Effects your avoid % Agility = Effects your team speed. Awake = Awakening, effecting team speed, Chance Step and Pressure occurences. MP = Gauges your Tension level, necessary for certain attacks. Leader = Leadership, effects team speed, leader rank, and command radius. Operater = Communications for your WS, effects team speed, leader rank, and command radius. Driver = Pilot for your WS, effects team speed, leader rank, command radius, and adds to mobility of WS. Mechanic = Mechanic for your WS, effects leader rank, command radius, and how much HP and EN is recovered by units resting inside the WS. Guest = Guest for your WS, effects leader rank, command radius, and might effect the MP of pilots resting inside the WS. * Agility, and thus Team Speed, is a very important factor in the difficulty of this game. When one of your team reaches a combined speed of 45 or higher, it will get two full attack/movement phases in a single turn. If they reach 65, then they will get three. So far, I've gotten all the way up to 96, but haven't been able to get four phases in one turn. ----------------------- CHAPTER 4: Option Parts ----------------------- To have access to all the options listed below, you must have a Tech Level of 10. Each increase in it will allow more parts to be bought. (mobile fighter only) Super Asia - Melee +50, Dodge +20, Agility +25 ----------------------- CHAPTER 6: Gundam Fight ----------------------- Gundam Fight is a great way to make extra money in between stages. It's also how you can get some of the best emblems in the game. I've included the prizes for each level of the fight, minus the emblems since they're just one time items. For quick money making, once you have a good pilot and MS, I usually fight on Level 5 of Space up to the 5th fight, then quit and pocket the 5750 capital. Please note that the item/capital won per fight is NOT cummlative. Menu: Gundam Fighter & Unit Select Partner Select - Mechanic skill helps repair, Guest skill helps give MP after battle Field Select - Pick Space or Earth and then whatever level you want. Higher levels become available by beating previous levels. Pattern Select - Attack Patterns are Close, Middle, and Long Range attacks. Choose the best area for the limit blocks of your pilot and the weaponry of your unit. Defense Patterns are either counter-attacking and dodging, or counter-attacking, dodging, and shielding. I recommend putting it into counter-attacking as much as possible. GP Code - You get these every time you finish a full level. It will allow you to replace pilots and units with the ones you just won with. Since this usually makes it harder, I don't recommend it. If you can win with who you're using already, why change it? Battle Start - Ready...... GO! Exit - Go back to the main menu. Note: Some of the OP parts you win can change depending on who the MS Pilot/Unit you fight are. Once these have been changed from the default, it's hard to say what you will get. I've listed an example under Space, Level 6. When given time I will try and figure out various results. Space, Level 1 Fight 1 - Nothing Fight 2 - 250 Capital Fight 3 - Silver Armor - MS is shown in battle with silver armor plating (sells 2000) Space, Level 2 Fight 1 - Nothing Fight 2 - 500 Capital Fight 3 - 1250 Capital Fight 4 - Gold Armor - MS is shown in battle with gold armor plating (sells 3000) Space, Level 3 Fight 1 - Nothing Fight 2 - 500 Capital Fight 3 - 1250 Capital Fight 4 - 2500 Capital Fight 5 - Exam System - Atk +6, Mob +8, -10MP per turn (sells 4500) Space, Level 4 Fight 1 - Nothing Fight 2 - 1000 Capital Fight 3 - Silver Armor - MS is shown in battle with silver armor plating (sells 2000) Fight 4 - Gold Armor - MS is shown in battle with gold armor plating (sells 3000) Fight 5 - Super Mega Booster - Mv +3 (sells 5000) Fight 6 - Barrier Field - Negates Map Weapon damage (sells 5000) Space, Level 5 Fight 1 - 250 Capital Fight 2 - 1500 Capital Fight 3 - 2750 Capital Fight 4 - Silver Armor - MS is shown in battle with silver armor plating (sells 2000) Fight 5 - 5750 Capital Fight 6 - Anti-Beam Coating - Beam Damage Reduced, +2000 HP (sells 6000) Fight 7 - Barrier Field - Negates Map Weapon damage (sells 5000) Space, Level 6 Fight 1 - Nothing Fight 2 - Tim Rey Circuit - ??? I haven't done some of the charts for units I don't have or just don't know that well, like the enemy V Gundam units. An = sign means the unit evolves/devolves both ways, while an -> or <- sign means it's a one way d/evolve. I've tried to place the evolution chart in series chronology order, though there were some that I could only place as best I could considering some of the overlaps. -M-O-B-I-L-E---S-U-I-T---G-U-N-D-A-M-------------------------------------------- GM = GM Command = GM Sniper II = GM Custom* = GM Custom = GM Command* = GM Quell = Gundam Mk II (Titans) = Bazam* = Gundam Mk II (AEUG) = GM II = Nemo = GM III = Jegan -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guntank = Mass Production Guntank -> Gun Cannon = Gun Cannon Groundtype = Gundam* --------------------------------------&---0-0-8-0---&---0-8-T-H---M-S---T-E-A-M- Gundam -> GM* = Ground Based Gundam = EZ8 = Gundam* = G3 Gundam = Perfect Gundam = Red Warrior = Alex --------------------------------------&---Z-E-T-A---G-U-N-D-A-M----------------- Zaku IIF = Zaku IIJ -> Acguy = Zugok = Zugok E = Hygok -> Gouf = Gouf Flight Type = Gouf Custom = Gouf Custom -> Dom = Rick Dom = Rick Dom II = Dom Troppen = Zamal <- Doraizen -> HS Zaku II = Masunaga's HS Zaku II = Gyan = Ifrit = HS Zaku II = Gyan Kai = R Jaja = Gaza R = Galbady Beta = Hizack* = Gaza L = Galbady Beta* = Gaza L* = Gelgog = Gelgog M = Cima's Gelgog = Gelgog J = Char's Gelgog = Gelgog J = Zaku II Custom = ZakuIIJ* = Hizack = Hizack (blue) = Zaku II Custom = Marasai* = Marasai = Bazam = Gundam Mk II (AEUG)* = Gundam Mk II (Titans)* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elmeth = Ziong = Noie Ziel = Queen Mantha = Alpha Aziel -0-0-8-3------------------------------------------------------------------------ GP01 -> GM* = GP01Fb = GP02A = Gebera Tetra = GP02A = GP01 -----------&---0-8-T-H---M-S---T-E-A-M------------------------------------------ Apsalas II = Biguro = Val Valo = Apsalas III -Z-E-T-A---G-U-N-D-A-M---------------------------------------------------------- Rick Dias = Dije -> Hiyaku Shiki* = Shutsurum Dias -> Hiyaku Shiki = Metus = Zeta Gundam = Zeta Gundam = ReGZ = Nu Gundam = Hi Nu Gundam = ZZ Gundam = Ex-S Gundam -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doben Wolf = Psycho Gundam = Psycho Gundam Mk II = Psycho Gundam MK II -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ashmar = Gaplant = Gaplant Custom = Gaburusei = Hanburabi = Baiaran = Messara = Palace Athena = The O -D-O-U-B-L-E---Z-E-T-A---G-U-N-D-A-M-------------------------------------------- Qubeley -> Hamma Hamma = Mass Production Hamma Hamma = Mass Production Qubeley = Puru's Qubeley Mk II* = Puru's Qubeley Mk II = Geemaruku?
