Planet Veldin (Wlka) >>-------------/`~`~`~`~`~` \_____________________________________________________/ ___________________________________ --------------------| 1. Investigate Crash Site (wlka1) |---------------------- *********************************** Welcome to the beginning of the game! You have a long road ahead, but for now things are pretty easy. For all intents and purposes, this world is a tutorial designed to get you familiar with the mechanics before moving onto the actual game. You can't travel to it after you finish it, so break all the crates while you have the chance. Even then, crates infinitely spawn, so there's not much to worry about here. First, you want to get familiar with the controls. Ratchet and Clank has the kind of controls that are pretty standard for platformers of its generation: the square button is attack, the 'x' button is jump, and the circle and triangle buttons are for special attacks. In this game, you use triangle to cycle through available weapons and circle to fire them. Once you're accustomed to basic movement and combat, you can move on. You begin the game next to your ship, though it won't run if you try to use it. To start, go to the right of your ship and into the garage building. There are several crates in here, and when you attack them, you get bolts. The screws are worth one bolt and the nuts worth five. Collect them whenever you see them in order to pay off some mandatory things near the beginning of the game. It's an awful experience to have to go collecting for bolts because you never got them earlier. Once you've cleared out the garage, head outwards towards the reddish-brownish enemies that resemble the offspring of a frog and a lizard. These are the first enemies of the game, and as such, incredibly weak. They have a really slow reaction time, so feel free to run straight up to them and smack them with your wrench. You'll notice that enemies also drop bolts, producing about the same amount as crates. After you've killed them, move on across the land platform to the other island. Kill three more of those enemies and beat up the crates. Cross the bridge to get to the next island and jump across the land platforms (be sure to kill the frog-like things too). When you get to a platform with two of them on it in front of a stack of crates, hold R1 and press the attack button to throw your wrench like a boomerang. This is actually pretty useful in the game, so don't shy away from using it over your weapons when you get them. Destroy the crates and smash the blue glass container with the orb inside if you were injured. It'll return one thing of health to Ratchet. He dies after losing four, but thankfully this game does utilize checkpoints before very difficult parts. When you get to the tunnel that looks like mickey mouse ears, go to the right and smash the crates before going through it. Here's the first real enemy in the game, a green robot that shoots a beam of electricity at the ground a few feet away for a second or two. Despite his appearance, he's actually very easy to fight. Press circle to take out your bomb glove weapon and toss it when the circle is over his body. Don't worry about getting hit by his weapon here - it has a very small reach. Next you'll see a stack of crates with a capital 'G' on the side. These restore your ammo, and so it's always a good thing to hit them. You'll pretty much always have ammo at the beginning of the game, but they become much more useful later on when your ammo is more divided up, so get them whenever you see them. Smash up the two enemies in front of you and then toss a bomb to the three enemies across the ledge. Kill the laser robots in this section and then smash up all of the crates in this area before continuing to the crash area. Once you've gotten everything, walk towards the crater to finish the mission. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`\-------------<< b. Planet Novalis (Wlkb) >>-------------/~`~`~`~`~`~` \______________________________________________________/ ____________________________ -----------------------| 1. Find a new ship (Wlkb1) |-------------------------- **************************** Here's the first real world in the game. Although it's only a slight step up in difficulty from the tutorial level, it's not a linear path to the exit, and practically the rest of the game is modeled in a similiar fashion to this (large overworld that has a few paths and links back to itself). Since Ratchet crashes his ship on the way over to the planet, your first job is to locate a new one. Technically you can do the missions in either order here, but you need a lot of bolts to complete the second one, which is why I'm going over this mission first. Note the blue box with a hologram of a sphere with the words 'Gadgetron' rotating around it. This is a Gadgetron vendor, which is basically a shop for all of your weapons. Right now, all there is to buy is ammo for your bomb glove and a weapon called the Pyrocitor. You definitely want to get the Pyrocitor, but it's much better to get it a few worlds from now thanks to all the costs you'll have to pay soon. Step on the yellow platform to be lowered down to the ground level. There are two new enemies here: a yellow and black flying enemy with a beak and a yellow enemy that stands in place and shoots meteor-like balls in bursts of four. You can kill the latter easily with the bomb glove and attack the former with your wrench. Beat the groups of them and smash up the crates next to the buildings for some bolts, and then jump up the stairs on the left. There's one of the yellow meteor-throwing bots there, but he moves back when you get near and can be easily destroyed as well. Turn to the right and walk on the bridge. A short cutscene will play showing a bomber shoot the bridge in three places, creating holes. Some robots will land to the sides of them, and you can shoot them easily again with your bomb glove. At the other side of the river there are three of those meteor bots and a swarm of the flying ones. Beat them all easily with the bomb glove and then collect the crates on the sides and under the bridge. Run into the clearing afterwards and a ship will land with three meteor bots. Beat all three and you'll get an infobot, which shows the location of a new planet. The man gives you a new ship as well, which lets you fly to new planets or travel to ones you've already been to. After that you've finished the mission. Be sure to get all crates before moving on. ___________________________________ --------------------| 2. Explore the waterworks (Wlkb2) |---------------------- *********************************** To begin this one, head up to where your ship is. If you haven't been getting many crates, there's a path behind the landing pad of your ship that leads to plenty, but if you have about 500 bolts, instead go into the tunnel with purple caves and a river flowing to its entrance. This section is mostly platforming, so jump on the rocks and falling rocks to the rising and falling mechanical lifts to get to the next room. Beat up the birds and smash all the crates to get some extra bolts, and then climb the platforms on the left to get to the next room. This room has a few more of the meteor bots which can be taken out easily using the bomb glove. Be careful when crossing the river in the middle of the room so that you don't fall in and get carried to the entrance again. You can double jump, in case you haven't already figured that out. Use the rising and falling lift to get up to the next room. This one is similar to the last one, though instead of jumping across the gaps, you have to jump to reach the stairs at the bottom to get up them. The first set is on the right side and the second on the left. After crossing, make your way up using the lifts in the back left of the room, get the crates if you need them, and go on the bridge to the last room. The plumber will offer to sell you an infobot for 500 bolts, which you should definitely be able to afford. This is the first of several fees you need to pay later on, so don't spend your bolts until you've payed off the last one. The infobot shows a video of Skid McMarx and his agent, and it unlocks the planet Aridia. You don't need to go there yet, but it will be helpful later on. Smash up the crates in the back of the room and jump into the sewer pipe to get back to the start when you're ready. You should now be ready to go to the next spot on the map, Metropolis on Kerwan. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~`~\-------------<< c. Metropolis (Wlkc) >>-------------/`~`~`~`~`~`~` \__________________________________________________/ __________________________________ ---------------------| 1. Visit Al's Robo Shack (Wlkc1) |---------------------- ********************************** Upon landing, smash up the crates around your ship before heading down to the area near the Gadgetron vendor. The path splits off here, so go right for the first mission. You'll spot immediately two new enemies: one is a metal dog that is easy to kill and dies in one hit, and the other is a slightly harder enemy that shoots rockets. Hit the dog with your wrench and throw two bombs at the rocket enemy to kill him. Cross the bridge to your left after getting the crates and kill another dog and rocket enemy. The dogs on this island will swarm you, so stave them off with your wrench (bombs don't work well when you're surrounded) and kill off the rocket guards. Over the next bridge is a helicopter enemy, which can be passed easily by running on one side and then jumping over the stream of bullets when it gets near you. Kill off the three dogs with one hit of your wrench and then finish off the rocket enemy as he runs. Go down the elevator here to find a group of dogs surrounding a new enemy. Let the dogs come to you before you attack, and then run towards the new enemy. He won't actually come and attack you, but will drop mines from his backpack as he runs away. You can toss a bomb at him or hit him from the side to finish him off. Cross the bridge to the right and fight another two rocket guards and dogs. Enter the building there and you get to meet Big Al. He has a heli-pack upgrade to sell you for 1,000 bolts, which shouldn't be much to you if you've been collecting bolts. Buy the upgrade and exit out the pack for some platforming to test it out. R1 + X will let you do a high jump, and if you're running while you do a high jump it changes to a long jump to cross gaps. Two high jumps and a long jump will get you up the stack of crates and to a ledge with an elevator. At the top of the elevator is a place you can glide from by jumping and then holding X, but really all you need to do here is long jump (same goes for practically anywhere you're meant to glide). Pick off the rocket guards one by one with bombs while maintaining your distance, and take the elevator at the back to find a spot with some more dogs. Kill off the few that are in front of you and then attack the pot shaped thing that spawns them. A few more will show up, so kill those off before getting the rest of the crates and pursuing the bomb-dropping enemy. He places bombs at the front of the bridge, so be careful to jump over them before running straight for him. At the end of the long bridge are another set of escalator stairs leading to a train station. There's a group of a few rocket enemies to the immediate left, so toss chains of two bombs at them until they're all dead and run to the left behind the boxes to find a huge amount of crates. You can do a high jump off the stack of two crates to get on top of the wall, and get the few up there before smashing the rest for a huge amount of bolts. When you're ready, jump to the second train platform at the left side of the station to move on. The train will begin moving, and an infobot is seen on the last platform. Jump across the platforms and over the rockets to get to the rocket enemies, which you can simply knock off the train by smacking them two or three times with the wrench. Jump to the last platform to bring the train to a stop, and the infobot will fly off to the right. Throw your wrench at the red exploding block on the left of the area for some bolts, kill another of those mine-dropping enemies on your right, and go into the space at the left to get the infobot for the Logging Planet, Eudora. Jump on the yellow elevator to get back to the start. _________________________________________ ------------------| 2. Explore the rest of the city (Wlkc2) |------------------ ***************************************** Whenever the mission that you're doing doesn't state a particular goal, it's safe to assume that you'll be getting some sort of new item after finishing it or the missions related to it. To start this one, go to the Gadgetron vendor and go left towards that looks like Captain Qwark on a spring. A cutscene will play, and you'll be told to finish an obstacle course with a reward on the third island. The course is made a bit easy by the added heli-pack upgrades, but can still be a bit annoying when you fall off after being impatient. Climb the first set of platforms on the first to find two metallic walls facing eachother. You'll need to climb up these by jumping into one and pressing the jump button when you make contact with it to spring off of it towards the other side, helping you get up the sides of the wall. Wall-jump up that set and then do the same for a taller set off to the left side around the corner. Go under the green circle and jump to zipline down to the second island. For this island, many of the blocks will move outwards/inwards while you're trying to climb them, which is a staple of the genre. The only real advice I can give here is to be patient, avoid using your heli-pack over the disappearing blocks, and don't rush through it. Jumping for the blocks right when they begin to come out is also a good strategy. Smash up the crates when you get to the top and run to the woman doing jumping-jacks to get your first tool, a Swingshot! You have to pay her unfortunately (Hopefully you saved up bolts like I mentioned), but it's necessary so you should go and get it now. Hold the fire button when you have it equipped to shoot to green spheres or two swing with two yellow spheres. You'll do one of both to test it out and then jump on the zipline to get back to the start of the course and move on to the next planet, Planet Aridia - Outpost X11. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\------<< d. Planet Aridia - Outpost X11 I (Wlkd) >>------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ This planet is pretty recognizable due to it being pretty much a swamp, and so every mission here is on a linear path from start to finish considering you can only walk on small island-like bits. By this point, you should have enough bolts to safely purchase a weapon from the Gadgetron, so go and get a Pyrocitor. It's not necessary to finish the game, but it's extremely useful in several parts of the game, and very good in some parts. From this point onwards, you want it as soon as you can get it. ________________________________________________________ ----------| 1. Locate Skid McMarx/Help Skid get to his ship (Wlkd1)|----------- ******************************************************** Behind your ship's landing pad is a path with a trail of bolts scattered across it. Follow it to find Skid McMarx standing near what looks to be a crashed escape pod. He offers to give you a hoverboard if you can help him get to his ship, which means clearing out a group of sand-sharks. The hoverboard leads to something pretty great later, so killing the sand-sharks is well worth it. This is where your Pyrocitor comes in handy. Cross the bridge over the mud across from Skid and a few red shark-like creatures will pop up from the sand and move toward you. Hold down the fire button on the Pyrocitor and either spin in circles or run at them. They all die in one hit, and it's unlikely you'll take any damage. After killing those, that leaves a little over fifty of them to be dealt with. Go to the right here to kill some more (be sure to kill the spawn points with these) and then cross the bridge to the far island to burn some more. Go forward from there to the back of the raised portion of land and burn the enemies that fall or come up from the sand. Once you've got them all, go and jump up the platforms onto the raised portion in the middle. Attack the spawn points around the center before jumping in and then burn all of the ones that show up. Remember that burning up the spawn machines doesn't prevent you from killing them but prevents more from showing up (there's not a set number of them that show up). Jump down from there and attack the ones that show up around the spawn machine. There should be about twenty left more. Jump across the platform towards the two remaining spawn points and hold down the fire button until all of them are dead and a cutscene comes of Skid McMarx giving you his hoverboard. Jump through his open ship to get back to the start and head towards the city for the next two missions. ______________________________ -----------------------| 2. Find Skid's agent (Wlkd2) |------------------------ ****************************** From your ship, there's a path to the city where the rest of the missions take place. Head that way and equip your Pyrocitor. A few sand-sharks will pop up, and then you'll meet a new enemy. They're equipped with what appear to be Pyrocitors too, though their downfall is that they start from the side when they fire instead of head-on, which is why you can take them out easily by long jumping and bashing them to death with your wrench. Take out the first one and then long jump to the platform the second one is standing on. Some sand-sharks will appear below you, so burn those before you continue. There are two more flamethrower enemies near eachother, so kill those and then take out the sand-sharks and the last flamethrower enemy before going up the elevator into the city. The paths split here, but right now you want to go right. Run straight at the enemy on the walkway to kill it, and then long jump towards the one after it. Across the conveyor belt, two of them will try and ambush you, but one is too high up to hit you, making them easy to kill. The conveyor belt moves against you on this one, so be sure to long jump to kill the last guy. Get the bolts from the stack of crates with your wrench-boomerang attack before continuing. When the elevator reaches the bottom, step to the left and immediately start using your Pyrocitor. Another flamethrower guard will be there, so long jump and kill him. High jump up the ledges and run through the pipes to bash the flamethrower guard before he can burn you. Jump up to the ledge and move across it by hanging. Jump up when there's room and blow up the crates there. Climb the ledges and run around the rock at the top to reveal Skid's agent standing next to a pod. He offers to make himself your agent if you can win the hoverboard race in Rilgar, which you can now do later with the hoverboard you got. Jump in the teleporter to the right to go back to the beginning and do the last actual mission here. _______________________________ -----------------------| 3. Use your Swingshot (Wlkd3) |----------------------- ******************************* Take the path from the beginning of the 'Find Skid's Agent' mission, but when the path splits off , go left instead of right and take out your Swingshot. It's very easy to use, and this mission is mainly just a simple obstacle course with no real challenge to it. The first half of it is just swinging forward, so keep pressing fire and you'll pretty much finish the mission. Remember to immediately shoot it after you jump off of one of the yellow ones in a sequence of two or more. There are no enemies, so it's a straight path to the end. Finish the mission, and you get the Trespasser tool. To use it, run up to a green circle on the ground in front of a locked door and fire. You'll be taken to a minigame showing three circles with a number of lasers and/or blue things that stop the lasers from making contact with the home ports that turn the lasers green. When all of the lasers are green, the lock is unlocked and you beat the minigame. NOTE: Since there are 12 ports on the lock, I'm going by the analog clock system to tell you the answers here. That means the very top one is 12, the lowest is 6, and the ones to the left and right sides are 9 and 3 respectively. I won't bother to go find multiple solutions of one puzzle, but I will list some if someone sends me a list and wants it for some reason. (tp1) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #1-------: : : : Outer Ring = 12 : : Middle Ring = 4 : : Inner Ring = 8 : : : :----------------------------------: From there, you can exit the place the same way you entered and get back into your ship to leave for the Logging Site at Planet Eudora. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\------------<< Logging Site, Eudora (Wlke) >>------------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ _____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Confront Robot Lieutenant (Wlke1)|-------------------- ************************************* This is where the game picks up a bit in difficulty. I consider it the first world that's any sort of challenge to the average player, and though I don't have much trouble with it at all now, I did struggle with it when I first played the game. If you collected enough bolts before, you should now be able to afford the Blaster, which helps plenty with this world. Don't worry about saving up for the Glove of Doom - It won't be very useful to you any time soon. Anyways, on to the mission. To the left of the landing pad is a hexagon shaped building with a Trespasser bit that's only slightly harder than the first one from the last planet: (tp2) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #2-------: : : : Outer Ring = 4,5 : : Middle Ring = 7 : : Inner Ring = 9 : : : :----------------------------------: After that you'll come out to a cliff. Long jump off the edge and glide at the end to make it to a small bit of land. Across from it is another small area with a screw sticking out of it from a metal base. Run up to it and attack it with your wrench and move counter-clockwise to screw it in, activating some Swingshot targets. At the end of those is another screw, which causes a series of platforms resembling pancakes to rise up and down. When crossing between them, remember to use long jumps instead of double jumps - they're further apart then it seems. Another screw is at the end, and once turned activates some more Swingshot targets, which take you to the back of a building with another Trespasser puzzle. (tp3) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #3-------: : : : Outer Ring = 6,8 : : Middle Ring = 9 : : Inner Ring = 11 : : : :----------------------------------: Run up to the Robot Lieutenant and a cutscene will play of Clank scaring him away and him accidentally dropping an infobot, revealing the coordinates of the Blarg Station at Nebula G34. Run through the doorway to get back to your ship. ______________________________ -----------------------| 2. Explore the mills (Wlke2) |------------------------ ****************************** This mission begins immediately going from your ship. From here, you'll spot two new enemies: A blue robot that chops at a tree and runs after you with an axe, and hovering yellow bots with blades for hands that travel in pairs. The first is easy to beat with just a couple of wrench hits, and the blade ones can be killed very easily with just one hit. Kill the ones immediately in front of your starting point and then screw in the screw on the left side to get to the next part of the level. Kill the few blade bots around you and go around the tree in the back to reveal a set of walls you can jump up to get some bolts and nanotech. Go into the clearing afterwards and take out the four blade bots and lumberjack bot before screwing in the screw to raise the bridge. On the other side is a new enemy waiting for you, and one of the most annoying in the game. It shoots three shots of missiles at you rapidly, and it also runs away when you try and bash it with your wrench. The best solution I've found against them is the bomb glove, though you have to be comfortable near them before you can use the tactic. Kill the two waiting for you there and climb the platform steps up to another area. There are several blade bots around along with the lumberjack bots, so kill those off before fighting the rocket bots from before hiding out in the corners. Cross the bridge on the left to the next area and use a high jump to get onto the walkways between the trees for some bolts. There's a decent amount of crates at the back, but there are two of the rocket bots standing next to them if you're going for them. When leaving the small space, the path to the next area is on your left. Jump up the platform steps and kill the lumberjack enemy with a jump attack. There's another one past it, so destroy that one before fighting the two rocket bots here. If the enemy is running around and none of your bombs are landing, let it get away and aim your bomb so that you can toss one right as it stops to shoot for you. Screw in the screw there to lower the raised spider-like platform and get the nanotech if you're low on health. Get on the lowered platform and do a long jump with a glide to get to the far end, where a large red robot is. He may look difficult, but two successive bombs from the Bomb Glove will destroy him immediately. There's another one inside the building a few paces away in front of some blade bots, but remember to get the crates and nanotech tucked away to the left before going to fight him. Afterwards, another long jump like the one at the beginning of the last mission is to be taken, and then a group of blade bots and rocket bots are around the area. Toss a bomb at the rocket bot among all the blade bots to clear them out, and follow it by tossing another bomb at the two hanging out at the very left to take them both with one shot. Inside the big yellow building are three of those large red bots you fought a moment ago, so run in and toss two at a time from the entrance until they all die. Clear the room of crates before running over to retrieve the shiny object you earned, the Suck Cannon. This is a pretty neat weapon, although you'll hardly ever have a real use for it. To demonstrate it, do a few long jumps from the back of the room to get back to the starting area, and then hold down the fire button for the Suck Cannon on the group of blade bots you land near. They'll be sucked up inside of it and fill it nearly completely, and then fire it to see what it does. Remember that once you've got an enemy inside the gun, you can't press the fire button again until you mean to fire, so if you're filling it up completely then you need to hold the fire button until they're all in there. Anyways, you've finished with the world now, so head back to your ship and prepare to go to a space station. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\---------------<< Blarg Station (Wlkf)>>----------------/`~`~`~`~`~ \______________________________________________________/ ____________________________________________________ ------------| 1. Explore the space station/Buy Grindboots (Wlkf1)|------------- **************************************************** This world is sort of a marker for when the game progresses from easy to medium difficulty, and this first mission proves it. When you start off, there are a few paths you can take, but for this mission in particular you want to head towards the gate covered by purple wires with a spinning ball next to it. Hit the ball to unlock the gate and continue inside. There are two oscillating fans that spray poisonous gas, which you can either jump over or pass when they turn off for a moment. Down the hall is a green creature walking on the ceiling. Take out your Pyrocitor here and mow down all of them that come out of the four vents. It may seem like a lot, but they die very quickly when on fire. In the open space ahead is a new enemy that shoots waves of fire on the ground, which can be taken down very easily with the bomb glove. The help voice will recommend you buy a Taunter from the Gadgetron for this space, but it's almost a completely useless item outside for a select few scenarios and a skill point, so you might as well save the 2500 bolts and just use a bomb on the guy. More of the short green enemies will spawn fron the vents, so burn them and then go to the end of the hallway and use the Trespasser on the switch straight ahead. (tp4) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #4-------: : : : Outer Ring: 12,5 : : *Middle Ring: 2,4,9 : : Inner Ring: 8 : : : :----------------------------------: *Since it is all blockers and not lasers, the points are marked not on where they're facing, but to the port they're closest to. If a laser was pointing at it, the port it would be blocking is the number the blocker is marked by. The lock reveals a room full of crates, although there is a fake one in the center filled with brown versions of the green creatures you saw earlier. Get all the bolts and then head into the room next to it. This room has a bottomless pit, so be careful walking here. Head to the left at the start and walk along the blue light bridge. You need to double jump up the escalating platforms, though there are several of those green poison gas emitters. You need to double jump right before they stop spraying them to pass them, and when you're at the top turn and face the otherway to spot a Swingshot target. Get to the other end and quickly toss a bomb at the fire-stomping guy waiting for you. There are some more of the short brown enemies hiding in the crates in front of you, so get out the Pyrocitor and use it before you continue. This room leads to another purple gate and has two scorpion-like enemies sitting in glass tubes. Release them by hitting the floating spheres next to their chambers and kill them quickly with a couple bombs. The next hallway is full of the short green enemies, so burn them all. The next opening takes you outside, and there's a fire-stomping enemy waiting at the top so bring out your bomb glove before getting up there to use it. Up ahead is a room full of the short green enemies from the hallways and two more of those scorpion like things. You want to equip the bomb glove here and spam it at the two scorpions while maintaining your distance, and then killing off the remaining green enemies with your wrench. There's a Gadgetron vendor here, but you should be well off enough to not need it here. Get all the ammo and bolts from the room if you need them, and smash the two spinning balls to the sides of the purple gate to unlock it. Two scorpion enemies will be waiting there alongside two green enemies, so get out your bomb glove and blow them all up. If you decided to get the Sounder anyways, you can use it here to lure the enemies into the purple gates and not do any work. If you don't have it, throw your wrench at the purple balls in the center to unlock the gates one at a time and bomb the enemies until you get to the next room. ******************************** BOSS BATTLE ********************************** GIANT SCORPION This one's the first boss in the game, and as tradition, very easy. I recommend getting some ammo for the Bomb Glove at the Gadgetron before starting this. Equip your bomb glove and toss four bombs at it while staying a few feet away and long jumping if it gets too close. About four bombs will take around a quarter of its health, and it'll summon some of the green enemies to help it out. Quickly get out the Pyrocitor and spray it before they close in on you. Once they're all dead, the boss will come out again and run towards you like in the beginning. Throw four more bombs at him and his next stage will come, where he summons two of the regular size scorpions you fought earlier. It's best to focus on one at a time and then go back to the scorpion boss. Four more bombs to kill him, and then the next room will open up. ******************************************************************************* Run to the next room that opens up and attack the brown enemies surrounding the person at the back. A cutscene will play, and you'll be offered Grindboots for 2,000 bolts, which you should definitely have enough for. A tunnel will open up with a rail on it, so get all the crates in the room and then jump on the rail in the center to give your Grindboots a shot. When you're finished, you'll land right in the starting room. ______________________________________________ ---------------| 2. Explore/Destroy the Blarg warship (Wlkf2) |---------------- ********************************************** Directly opposite to the room you went it to start the last mission is a cockpit with the controls to a pod-like ship. Go up to the controls and wait for the narrator to stop speaking and the command 'Board Warship' to come on screen. Make sure you have some decent ammo for the Pyrocitor and Bomb Glove before leaving. The pod will take off and fly to a nearby ship, where it attaches itself to a pod in the side and lands you into the ship. There are two rooms in front of you, but only the one on the right will open. Toss a bomb at the fire-stomping guy inside, equip your Pyrocitor, and move into the next room to burn up the green enemies waiting inside. The room lets out into a room with two of the fire-stomping guys, so toss a bomb or two in their direction and get some crates before moving on. The final room is at the front of the ship and has three scorpion enemies, so toss bombs at them or use your Blaster (if you don't have one yet, get one after this mission). Once you kill them, a covering will come off the button in the front. Pressing it activates the ship to be destroyed, and you have a minute to get to the escape pod. There are going to be a few enemies here and there, but mainly only one scorpion that actually has a chance of killing you, which you have about 20 seconds to kill if you don't waste any time. I recommend using the Blaster if you have it, or if not just tossing one bomb and getting rid of it that way. Either way, it shouldn't be too difficult - The last time I beat it, I managed to get by without attacking anyone. Finishing the mission and getting back safely in the pod you came in will reward you with an infobot that leads to the next planet, Rilgar, though there is one essential item we need from this planet before we leave... ________________________________________ ------------------| 3. Journey outside the airlock (Wlkf3) |------------------- **************************************** To start this mission, head over to the Trespasser lock in the starting area across from where the Grindboot slide from the first mission lets out. Here's the combination: (tp5) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #5-------: : : : Outer Ring: 2,10 : : Middle Ring: 1,11 : : Inner Ring: 12 : : : :----------------------------------: Run forward and you'll be prompted with a command to "Send Clank to explore outside the station", which lets you control Clank on the outside areas of the ship. Press it and you'll be in front of a blue room with a button in the center. Stand on it to lower it and you'll now be able to walk outside. Walk forward and go on the green bridge to the left to get on a ship. There's one brown frog-like enemy that you fought earlier on the ship, and after killing it there's several crates to the left behind the cockpit of the ship. Get all the bolts and then run to the opening in the back of the ship to glide to another (it works the same way as Ratchet's glide). Head to the back of the ship to fight three more of those monsters and then go to the right onto another green bridge to get to another ship. At the end of the green path, jump up to grab onto the ledge and then shimmy right until you can jump up and grab the edge of the smaller box to get on board. You're almost at the end, but unfortunately there's a large scorpion enemy in the way, and you're practically powerless to it. Fortunately for you, there's a surprise in the back of the ship. Four of Clank's Gadge-bots are in the back in glass chambers you can smash to control. Sending them orders works the same way as selecting a weapon with Ratchet, although you have to be near an enemy to use 'Attack' and near an entrance to use 'Enter'. Have them follow you up to the scorpion and then use the 'Attack' command to kill it and the enemies waiting behind. If one of your Gadge-bots dies in the process, you can always go back to where it spawned and use the 'Follow' command to have it join the rest of the survivors. Run up to the house with the '4' on it and use the 'Enter' command to unlock the gate and send the Gadge-bots away. Go up to the shiny item, and you've now got a Hydrodisplacer! It's one of my least favorite tools in the game, but you need it to win, so there's no real choice here. Go on the bridge to the right of the cockpit to get back to the start, and step on the button to turn back into Ratchet. You're now done with this world, and on to Blackwater City on the planet Rilgar, one of the best planets in the game! _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\-----------<< Blackwater City, Rilgar (Wlkg) >>-----------/`~`~`~`~` \________________________________________________________/ ____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Win the hoverboard race (Wlkg1) |--------------------- ************************************ It's a good thing you picked up that hoverboard a few planets ago, because now you finally have a chance to give it a spin. Head across the platforms in front of the yellow button and equip your Blaster (Get some more ammo if you're running low, it's helpful here). Step on the yellow button and start shooting at the yellow flamethrower enemy as soon as he comes out. A large tank will be going in back and forth movements in the back, and while it looks like a difficult enemy, it can actually be killed relatively quickly with a few shots from the Blaster. Go out through the left doorway and long jump across the gap to the grey platform over to the next purple building. Here you want to use the Mine Glove instead of the Blaster and spam it after you step on the button so they don't have a chance to get to you. A new enemy that looks like a large slug is in the back of the room, and it splits into two forms twice, producing a total of 6 enemies for each one of itself. Since it's a large amount of small enemies, the Pyrocitor always works best for it. Go out and step on the button there to make a bridge to all the flamethrower enemies, and then throw several bombs at them all when you get near. Get on the elevator to the right, and then kill the slug enemy when you get to the top. Stepping on the yellow button in the center will unleash all of the enemies at once behind the gates, so get your Bomb Glove or Pyrocitor out and get the Nanotech if you're injured before challenging them. Once they're all dead, go through the door that the group closest to the elevator came out off and jump in the taxi cab to go downtown. When you land, a group of enemies will be fighting, so wait until they clear out a bit before heading down and going to town with bombs on them. There's a few flamethrower enemies ahead, and then a tank on which you can use your Blaster to kill easily. If you head to the alien standing in the corner near the tank, he'll offer you a RYNO weapon for 150,000 bolts, which is a series staple but unfortunately pretty much impossible to use in the regular game. To continue, step on the yellow button next to the gate with the two flamethrower enemies behind it, and get them both with one bomb. Go through the elevator they were in front of and press the button. You'll come out in front of a cave with a huge pit in the center, where you'll be fighting. Equip the Pyrocitor and burn up the three slug enemies already out, and then step on the yellow button when you're ready to fight all of the flamethrower bots. There are a lot, and it can be difficult, but you can jump back to the top and toss bombs at them from above or just kill the two in front of the cave tunnel and run through there to go. I usually let them bunch up and bomb them when they're really close, but it's up to you. Anyways, when you're done with that, get some Nanotech if you were hit and head through the opening with an elevator in it. You'll come out to a grid with lasers seperating you from a large amount of enemies. Although it may look like you need to do some puzzling here, really it's just a straightforward path that you go on here. Flamethrower enemies get bombed, slug enemies get burned, you know the rest. After fighting a set of each enemy, you'll make it out and find that you can go back and unlock more in the grid, but it's not really worth it. There's a sewer plate here that rises by steam, though, and you can use it to jump up to the next floor. From the sewer plate, use the Blaster on the tank (remember to aim manually with L1 or L2 for this) and jump to the spot it was at. There's another tank in the room to your immediate right, so use the Blaster on it too and take the elevator up to finally get to the reporter and your spot in the race. You get to enter it for free, and for as many tries as you want, so don't get too nervous for it. To win it, you only need to hit the speed boosts as much as you can, and never let yourself slow down to regular speed where you might as well be walking. If you have a rough time passing someone, there's a particular spot about halfway through the course where the track does a near 180 turn to the right, and so right when the hill turns to flat track, jump on the very edge and you'll be able to skip the turn almost entirely, letting you pass a small bit of track. Just remember to turn right sharply when you land, and you'll do it fine. After you win, you'll get a prize which you can bring to Skid McMarx's agent, which is exactly what you'll be doing after this world. Remember to step on the yellow button to the right of the cab to the beginning. Press that and fight the enemies to create one half of a link to Qwark's trailer when you unlock it. Jump into the taxi at the end of the area to go back to the starting area for the next mission. ________________________________ ----------------------| 2. Locate Captain Qwark (Wlkg2)|---------------------- ******************************** Get some ammo for your Bomb Glove and Pyrocitor, and head forward to the path with the two Swingshot targets leading to a tunnel in front of the ship. Long jump to the first platform and use your Swingshot to pass the rest of the distance to the tunnel and step on the button to go up. This mission also sees the first use of the Hydrodisplacer, which the developers loved for some unexplainable reason. Its ability is to raise and lower the level of water, which you can do by stepping in front of oval-shaped green and blue plates with pipes emerging out of them. I would say keep this in your inventory at all times if you don't like constantly going to the inventory screen. Go and try it out on the pipe in front of you. The water level with be lowered, which lets you high jump off of the platform to your front left. Do that, and use the Hydrodisplacer again to refill the water. Jump in and jump back out to get inside the tunnel, where you smash the giant metal bits blocking the pipe. Jump out at the end and lower the water yet again to smash another metal bit in the pipe to your right below. Climb back up to the Hydrodisplacer spot, refill it, swim through the tunnel, and jump back out at the end to get to the level, where you can jump on the mudslide to be carried down to another level and find a gate with a button switch. When you press the button here, the gate opens and the water slowly floods the entire place, making it a timed sequence. There's no real specific advice I can give on this other than to use long jumps, don't waste time attacking an enemy unless they're in your direct way, and don't get too stressed out if you miss a jump - it doesn't really affect much, and you can always start over. At the end is a button, so press it and you'll finally get to Captain Qwark's trailer. The only problem is that his bodyguard is blocking it, and instead of fighting him, you have to pay him to be let in. Pay 4,000 bolts to the guy and then you'll finally get to Captain Qwark, who gives you an infobot to get to his home planet, Umbris, to take a trial and see if you're worthy. Before you leave, step on the button on the left to connect this area with the hoverboard race area. You now never have to go through either level to get back there again! This finishes up all the missions for this planet, so get back to your ship in the flying cab and you're off to to redeem a prize. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\------<< h. Bring prize to agent (Wlkh1) |---------------------- ********************************* When you found Skid's agent, he offered you a prize if you won the hoverboard race in Blackwater City. Now that you've actually gone and done that, he owes you a certain something. Head to the immediate right from the spot where you land and go on the ship to teleport back to the spot you met him. You'll only be a few feet away, so jump over to him and a cutscene will play. The prize is called a Sonic Summoner, which lets you spawn a mouse in a flying ship from antennas in the ground. Go over to the summoning point in the ground to bring it out, and he'll follow you around for a few minutes. It's a neat trick, and although I haven't personally used it much, I'm sure someone reading this should find it useful. Every world has one of these, as far as I know. Head back to the teleporter and depart for Planet Umbris when you're ready to face the trial of Captain Qwark. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\-----------<< i. Qwark's HQ, Umbris (Wlki) >>-----------/`~`~`~`~`~` \______________________________________________________/ _____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Survive Qwark's gauntlet (Wlki1) |-------------------- ************************************* This world is practically just made for one single mission, which should be pretty obvious just from the design of it. You'll come out on a platform with your ship with some Swingshot targets in front of you. This is the stage where the Glove of Doom can actually be useful, so get that along with full ammo for it if you can afford it. Get out your Swingshot and swing to the far platform to the left of the bridge with the two targets. When you land, you'll see a spinning enemy that tosses bombs everywhere, which is too far away to bomb, but can be taken care of easily with the Blaster (Stock up on ammo if you don't already have some before starting this mission) or the Glove of Doom. Cross the bridge and fight another, and then some spiked flying bombs will come over to you, which explode. These can be destroyed pretty easily with the Pyrocitor, like all small enemies, and then you'll come upon a turret that pops up out of the ground and shoots in long sprays. You can shoot it from the back, but it's easiest to just long jump past its fire and whack it with your wrench when you get up to it. There's another bridge with more of the flying spike bombs on it, so come to the front of the bridge and wait until they're coming at you in a line to burn them. Use the Blaster on two more of the spinning bomb enemies, and then get out your Pyrocitor before heading up the staircase so you can fire it on the two flying spike balls waiting for you. A long line of spiked flying balls is hovering around the next bridge, so wait at the very start and then start burning them once they set their sights on you and their spikes pop out. On the next platform, you'll see three green plates on the ground. The idea behind these is that you have to press them all within a certain amount of seconds after you press the first one, which unlocks a new area. Try it out in front of you, and then burst fire at the four spinning bomb enemies until you get them all. Three more buttons are in the area there, so step on them to unlock the next area and long jump across the bridge before it falls completely. Do the same for the next one, and you'll be in front of another turret, but this time several spiked fences lie between you. The key to this is just long jumping when you cross the fire that it shoots at you - if you're relatively quick, it won't have time to actually pinpoint your location and you can just run all the way up to it. You can bash it in when you finish. Two swingshot targets are in front of you, so swing up to the last one and then head to the left to see a bunch of turrets firing down alleys with walls between them. There are three of those green buttons in this area that you need to press, so get out your Pyrocitor to fight the spiked ball enemies hidden in some of these areas and get to work. The first one is down the middle aisle right in front of the turret when you come in to look at the area. Long jump over to it and then smash the turret before stepping on it. Run to your right and smash the turret firing down the hall to the left. There's another button in front of it, so step on that and then run out to the aisle you were in and go to the right to see another turret. Smash it, and then run over and step on the button before you run out of time. If the spiked balls on the side follow you here, burn them up, and then head towards the entrance of the area. The spot you unlocked has a horseshoe-shaped opening door, so get the nanotech to the right and then go up the stairs. Immediately, you'll spot a long chain of the spiked balls hovering around in lines, so get out your Pyrocitor and burn them all up when they approach you. Press the three buttons to unlock the door on the left. Climb up the long ladder of pipes here to get to the next area, featuring the Hydrodisplacer. Use it on the port on the left on your platform, and then jump into the drained pit in the center. A fish will be hopping around inside, which can be killed easily using a bomb or just a jump attack if you think you won't get hit. Cross through the pipe and bomb the next two fish, and then jump out and walk over to the next ledge to see some more fish to bomb. Kill them, and then climb the ladder back up to use the Hydrodisplacer and raise the water level so you can cross. For the next one, you'll see another pool filled with the evil fish, so drain the water and then toss some bombs at them to kill them off. Go back and raise the water level once they're dead to swim under and then jump back up onto the platform on the inside room. There's two Swingshot targets and a Hydrodisplacer port, so use the port to lower the water level and then it'll be low enough for you to not fall in the water when you try and swing. In the next room is a raised cylinder in the middle of the room with a low level of water and several fish hopping around inside of it. Kill the fish off here before raising the water level, and then swim to the center and jump to press the three buttons that open the door to the next room. Go back to the entrance, lower the water again, and then high jump up the platforms in front of the door to reach it at the end. In this next door, you'll see Qwark, but first grab the ammo and smash up the bolts to your left and right. Head over to see him for a surprise... ******************************** BOSS BATTLE ********************************** BLARGIAN SNAGGLEBEAST Yes, Captain Qwark tricked you, and now you must fight a Blargian Snagglebeast. Although it looks threatening, it's actually as easy as the Scorpion boss you fought earlier. His main attack is a stomping one where he sends out shockwaves you can easily jump over, but his other attack is a laser beam type thing that's extremely easy to dodge. The weapon you want to use for this fight is the Blaster, so run over to the platform he's standing near and jump on the tall rock to the right. Not only will the shockwaves completely pass you, but you're at perfect height to use the Blaster on him relentlessly. When he gets angry and summons a red ball around him, jump to the floor and run away from him using one of the metal platforms on the ground. He's angry enough to follow you anywhere, but when he steps on the bridge, he falls into the lava and it takes him down a large amount health-wise. He'll use the same moveset when he comes back, but unfortunately he may have destroyed your platform. If that's the case, you'll have to stand in front of him to use the Blaster and jump while shooting, which is fortunately much easier than it sounds. If you run out of ammo, use bombs or the Pyrocitor. They don't work as well, but they do get the job done. Overall, the boss is very repetitive, though he does have one move he uses near the end that sucks you up like a funnel and then shoots out all of your weapons on various platforms. It doesn't do you any damage, but it is very annoying. You probably won't get hit by this more than once, though, because afterwards it's very easy to see coming and avoid by running away quickly. After three cycles of him falling in the lava, the boss will catch fire and die, and you'll be free to leave. ******************************************************************************* There's a new infobot at the front of the new tunnel that shows up. Run over to it to get it, and you'll now have the coordinates for Planet Batalia, which is where you'll go automatically after the boss fight. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\----------<< j. Fort Krontos, Batalia I (Wlkj>>----------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ ___________________________ -------------------------| 1. Scout the area (Wlkj1) |------------------------- *************************** Here's a fun mission to start out with. When you first get on the planet, there's going to be a sort of alley to the right of the Gadgetron box with a row of houses. At the end of it is a grind rail, so use your Grindboots here and jump right on. There are a few obstacles on the track, but the key to beating it is to jump when a metal object is in the way, and to use your wrench and attack when there's a metal ball with red spikes in the way. Whenever you can jump from one rail to another, be sure to do that, and at the end you'll be prompted to buy an infobot from a guy for 2,000 bolts. Do that, and you'll get the coordinates for Planet Gaspar. Step on the teleporter to go back to the beginning and start the second mission. _____________________________________ -------------------| 2. Meet the Commando at City (Wlkj2)|--------------------- ************************************* The idea of this planet is that it's constantly under war, and since you're here to help out with the fighting for the Commando, it's going to be rough at first. You can now buy the Devastator from the Gadgetron, but you won't need that for a while. For now, just get some Pyrocitor ammo and Bomb Glove ammo before you start. In front of you, several robots will be flying. Get out your Pyrocitor before you go near them, and when they come to the ground to attack, burn them up. Ahead is a bot that shoots strings of bullet-like missiles at you, which are quite strong and almost difficult to avoid. Still, a good long jump to cover the distance along with a jump attack will kill them easily. The bridge in front of you will be destroyed, so long jump over the gap there too. Burn up the bots in front of you and smash the crates on the right to reveal a cave with even more crates and ammo boxes to smash. After getting those, jump down in the center where the screw is and burn up the bots there before turning it. A bridge will extend, so run up the winding path to get back up (watch for the missile bot) and equip your Blaster or Bomb Glove before you try to cross the bridge - a tank will be trying to cross it when you get up there. To the left of the bridge is a small river that takes you quickly in front of those two missile bots. Before you get hit, jump and slam your wrench on one of the bots, and jump out of the way when the other tries to attack before finishing him off too. Another tank will be near, and if you're out of Blaster ammo to kill it, I've found that the Glove of Doom works quite well to kill it. There are two screws on the ground, but before you turn them, throw a Glove of Doom round on the ground to kill the enemies that pop out while screwing them in. Once the bridge is made, jump up the stairs of platforms on the side of the area and cross to meet up with the Commando, who gives you an infobot that reveals the planet Orxon. There's another mission here, but unfortunately you need Magneboots to begin it, which isn't something you get for a world or two now. We're done here for the time being, so off to Planet Orxon! _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\---------<< k. Kogor Refinery, Orxon I (Wlkk) >>---------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ ____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Search the laboratories (Wlkk1) |--------------------- ************************************ On this planet, the atmosphere is poisonous to Ratchet, so instead you'll be playing this mission as Clank. When you get off the ship, head into the large blue pipe opening in front of your ship. A few spaces forward, there's going to be an opening to the left guarded by a crab-like enemy that can kill you very easily. To get past it, you're going to need some Gadge-bots, which can be found further on in the tunnel. Jump down from the ledge and smash the brown enemy to get the first Gadge-bot. The other two are guarded by a few more of those things, so order the first one to attack first the one on the same level as you, and then jump down and kill the two ones on the lower level to free the one down there. To get the bots to go in the teleporters, you have to be near them and command them to 'Enter'. Once you've got all three with you, order them to follow you and attack the crab enemy blocking the way. There's another enemy in front of the blue house, so have them attack it and then send them away into the house to unlock the door. Head down this hall and kill some more of those brown enemies, and go up some platform stairs to find a crab enemy and two more Gadge-bots. The area dips a bit, and in there you can find four more Gadge-bots to free. Take all them up to the house and let them all in to unlock the next gate. In the next room, there are two Gadge-bots in front of a gate, and a small platform that you can jump over but they can't. Free them and go to the other side. Stepping on a white pad on the floor releases the gate, so use the command 'Follow' here, and have them come up to you. There's another bot here along with a gate and a switch. Have the three bots you have now 'Wait' on top of the button to get to the other side, and then stand on the button on the other side and order them to 'Follow'. Break another Gadge-bot container to bring your total up to four, and have them enter the teleporter to bring all of you up to the top floor. Another bot is hiding in the corner, so get it. The next gate can be passed using a moving box on the right, and once you're over it destroy the explosive crates and order the bots to follow when you're standing on the switch. Free the remaining Gadge-bot and order them all to enter into the teleporter and then the house. The room will now be unlocked, and the Magneboots will be waiting for you on a ledge overlooking your ship to the left. Get them, and you'll now be able to complete the final mission in Batalia, which is where we'll be headed after the next mission. ____________________________________ --------------------| 2. Traverse the wilderness (Wlkk2) |--------------------- ************************************ From the ledge that you got the Magneboots on, there's a path leading to a clearing. Free the Gadge-bot in front of you and walk along the right side of the clearing to pick up all the Gadge-bots while avoiding the bombs until you have six bots and come to a doorway with a bomb in front of it. This building is designed so that it's very easy to drop your bots and lose them, or simply get them killed by the lightning-like bolts that travel through the floor. If a bot is killed, that means you'll have to travel back out and collect it from its spawn point. It's very annoying, and the only way to avoid that happening is patience. The bolts always travel in specific patterns, so take a few moments to observe where their path intertwines with yours, and cross over those areas immediately after they go through. The first one crosses in two specific points on the same level, and the second crosses once on two floors. Once you've gotten up to the final ramp in the far right corner, you'll make it to another room filled with acid. Be sure to walk in the exact center and be careful here so as to not let them fall in. At the end of the walkway is the house to let them in, so use the 'Enter' command and then continue into the final room. This room features a total of ten Gadge-bots, which is the most you'll see in the game. Hit the glass of the first one and order it to attack the crab in front of you. It will probably die once or twice, but you're right at the spawn point so you'll be fine. There are three of the short brown enemies in the area to the left, so fight them off and then free the three Gadge-bots in the area before continuing. There's a few more brown enemies and another crab next to the larger area to the right of the entrance, so use your current bots to kill it and gather back up any of them that die. You should have 7 before you have them attack again, so pick off the remaining enemies and the two crabs before you. If you have all ten, it's unlikely for them to die when attacking the rest. Have them enter the house there, and the gates will open for you to collect an infobot to Planet Pokitaru. Get back to your ship now, and we'll be back to Batalia for a short while before continuing further. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\---------<< l. Fort Krontos, Batalia II (Wlkl) >>---------/`~`~`~`~` \________________________________________________________/ ____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Explore the walled city (Wlkl1) |--------------------- ************************************ To start this mission, get onto the flying hover car to the left side of the walkway near your ship. When you land, jump on the hoverboard track and walk to the left. Using the magneboots is pretty easy, but don't forget that you can easily fall off by walking over the edge. A few of those small flying enemies will come up to you while you're walking, but they can be taken care of easily with the wrench. At the end of the track, you'll come out through a broken wall into the middle of the city. Toss a bomb at the missile enemy that starts shooting at you straight ahead, and then climb the stairs to the left to screw the bridge open and get back here easily. Jump down into the center and a lot of short robots will come after you. Burn them with the Pyrocitor and jump onto the ledge. Two giant tanks will burst out, so destroy them with the Blaster, the Bomb Glove, or the Glove of Doom. Afterwards, a screw will be where they burst out of, so turn it to lift up a gate and climb it to find the plumber you saw way back at Planet Novalis. He'll let you use the turret to blast the ships up. The trick to this is shooting at the missile supply of the ships, which is wrapped around them like a belt. The ships will fire at you in self-defense, but you can shoot down their missiles by looking at the radar. Their fire will appear as red blinking dots in the lower right-hand corner, so turn as fast as you can whenever you spot one and make sure you don't get hit. It's easy to finish this mission without getting hurt if you shoot every missile as soon as it's fired. Beating this gives you a new tool, a Metal Detector. It's designed to help you find stashes of bolts in the ground, although it's really less of finding the bolts and more of holding the fire button while you walk around and having bolts spring up a lot. Jump on the taxi to get a ride to your ship. It's time to go to Planet Gaspar. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\-----------<< m. Blarg Depot, Gaspar (Wlkm) >>-----------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ ____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Find the Pilot's Helmet (Wlkm1) |--------------------- ************************************ There's only one mission on this planet, but it can be pretty rough. I highly recommend purchasing the Walloper from the Gadgetron here. There's one particularly annoying enemy here that the weapon makes short work of. To start, take the elevator platform down to the ground level from your ship and use the Walloper on the short enemies that swarm you (destroy their spawn machine) along with the missile enemy in the back. Jump in the turret in front of you and use it on the giant metal circle to the right to open it up for you to jump through. The annoying enemies I mentioned are right in front of the hole it forms. They're these short metal ball enemies that swarm you and detonate, but with the wrench or a normal weapon, it's very difficult to get them all in time to survive getting hit. Thanks to the Walloper, though, they all die in one punch. Ahead, there's some more of those ball enemies along with two missile guys that hop out, so punch all of them too. Destroy their spawn machine, and then you'll come across another giant metal circle in the wall. Keep going forward on the path while punching all the ball enemies to get to the turret to destroy it. You can long jump to the land and go through it once it's broken. At the top of the elevator inside are more of the small enemies you fought below, so punch them and continue on. The next room is full of tanks, but thankfully they don't move as enemies. Instead, you get four of the missile enemies that pop back and forth to use cover and attack you. These guys go down in one punch, of course, and they're all separated out. It shouldn't be very hard to punch them all and be finished with the area in a short time. The next room is absolutely full of these same people, so throw two balls from the Glove of Doom to clear it out and punch any enemies that live. There's another turret there. Use it to destroy the wall on the left, and run outside. There are two missile enemies there, so kill them with the Blaster and quickly equip the Walloper to punch down all of the ball enemies that show up. Head to the right to find the Pilot's Helmet, which you'll find very useful soon. Smash up all the crates here for some bolts. You can now take the elevator to the left to get back to the beginning area for your ship. This completes the planet, so now we're off to the Jowai Resort at Planet Pokitaru. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\--------<< n. Jowai Resort, Pokitaru I (Wlkn) >>--------/`~`~`~`~`~` \______________________________________________________/ __________________________________ ---------------------| 1. Help the resort owner (Wlkn1) |---------------------- ********************************** Here's one of the more annoying missions in the game, although it's still not too difficult. Go to the Gadgetron here and get a full stock of both Glove of Doom ammo and Pyrocitor ammo. Afterwards, go over to the resort manager on a platform on the dock. He says he'll lead you to the other side of the island, but you need to escort him. You don't have to protect him or keep his health up or anything, but you do have to clear the way for him. He'll follow you wherever you go, so you don't need to worry about waiting up for him either. Go down to the shore of the beach where some orange spiked things are hopping. They may look easy to kill with the wrench, but it's actually relatively difficult not to get hit while doing so. It takes two shots of the Pyrocitor to kill them, so finish off all the ones on the shore and then jump attack the squid-like enemy at the end of the island. Once they're all dead, the manager will hop on his boat and wait for you to get on. Whenever you're on the boat, more of those spiked orange enemies will try and get on board, so get out your Pyrocitor and stand next to the guy facing away from him. Whenever one of the enemies gets near, turn to them quickly and burn them. The manager will take you up to a higher level next to a waterfall. There are a few on the area when you get off next to a squid enemy, so use the Blaster or however you want to kill them, and get the nanotech before going into the waterfall area. The first thing you'll notice here is that there are a lot of those orange enemies, and never use your Glove of Doom in these water areas - they die immediately when touching water. You can do this one of two ways: either get out your Pyrocitor and jump right into the water to burn them all and risk a few lives, or jump between the platforms and bomb them with the Bomb Glove. It's up to you, but I prefer bombing them considering Nanotech is harder to come by over here. Cross the water to get to another area with several fish, but this time it's easier. Bombing them works best, and once they're all dead it's time for the last boat ride. You'll land on another dock afterwards. There's a bridge here that's a bit hard to cross, but the ship always stays there so you can always get back up. There are a few more orange spiked enemies here, so bomb or burn them, and go near the stairs. There are a lot of them up here, and I find the Glove of Doom to be very helpful in this part. Step on the button here to extend the bridge once you've gotten them all to go to the last part of the mission. Toss about three Gloves of Doom up on to the ground here and let your minions kill them all. There will be a few left in the water pit in the center of the plaza, so use the Bomb Gloe to finish them off. The guy tells you that the place is locked and he can't open it, but tells you to talk to the mechanic, who offers you a Thruster-Pack for 2,000 bolts. Pay it, and you'll now be able to open the lock by high jumping and attacking at the same time. After you open it, you'll be able to fly the Jet Plane. This mission is pretty easy. You need to kill all the Centipede-like things to beat it, which you do by either firing bullets or missiles at the pods they carry. You'll get attacked every once in a while by small ships, but they do very little damage and can be killed with just a few bullets. Finish the mission, and you get an O2 Mask to breath in places you usually can't, like Planet Orxon, which we'll be headed to after the next mission. ________________________________ ----------------------| 2. Navigate the sewers (Wlkn2) |----------------------- ******************************** To the right of the ship is a teleporter that takes you to the sewers. Use it, and jump into the water. Dive under and swim through the flooded doorway to get to the Hydrodisplacer port guarded by a slug enemy (burn it or punch it). Go back into the main room and look for the gate blocked by a Trespasser lock. (tp6) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #6-------: : : : Outer Ring: 9 : : Middle Ring: 8 : : Inner Ring: 6,7 : : : :----------------------------------: Now that the door is unlocked, you can go back and fill the water up to swim to the platform past the gate. This room is full of slugs, which means the Pyrocitor is your best option. Jump up the platforms on the side of the room, but don't stand on the yellow ones for long - they sway and can drop you easily. At the top is another mechanical door which can be opened by your Trespasser. (tp7) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #7-------: : : : Outer Ring: 6,1 : : Middle Ring: 3 : : Inner Ring: 11 : : : :----------------------------------: This door brings you to another pool room, so dive in it and go through the tunnel on the left to be brought to another room of slugs. Burn all of them up and go up to the gate for yet another Trespasser lock. (tp8) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #8-------: : : : Outer Ring: 7,10 : : Middle Ring: 9 : : Inner Ring: 12,2 : : : :----------------------------------: Come in here to find a guy that offers you a trade: A Persuader for some Raritanium. The Persuader lets you get lower prices at Gadgetron vendors, which is something I'm sure you want. We can't get it yet, though, so teleport back to the surface and get in the ship. Since we have an O2 mask, we can now explore as Ratchet on Planet Orxon, which is what we'll be doing now. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\---------<< o. Kogor Refinery, Orxon (Wlko) II >>--------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ _______________________________ -----------------------| 1. Explore as Ratchet (Wlko1) |----------------------- ******************************* Immediately in front of you when you get out of your ship is a platform with several crates on it. Long jump to it and then long jump again from there to get to the low platform below. There's a crab enemy here, so use your Blaster on it and then open the purple laser gate by hitting the spinning yellow ball. There are two birds that swoop in on you past it, but they can be defeated easily using the Pyrocitor. Quickly jump across the next two platforms (they sink) and kill the three enemies waiting ahead with the Blaster. There's another purple gate with two balls instead of one, so hit both and continue through. The next area splits by two paths, but the one we want is on the right. If you have 14,000 bolts at the least here, you can buy the Devastator from the Gadgetron and go on the path to get to a Nanotech vending machine, which increases your total health by one. For now, though, I'm covering the right side. Get some Bomb Glove or Blaster ammo from the Gadgetron vendor and go to the right. There's a crab in front of you and three in a small pit below, so kill them with either weapons I mentioned and then long jump to the ledge. There are several crabs immediately in front of you, but you can jump over them completely and not have to deal with them at all, which is what I prefer to do. The blue flying enemy will scream and wake them, but you should have more than enough time to jump onto the Magneboot platform and walk away. This platform has two new things, which is fire-emitting things and the birds that swoop down on you from earlier. The former can be crossed just by taking them one at a time, and the latter I usually deal with by facing towards the enemy and then just mashing the attack button until the bird dies. Get off the Magneboot platform and you'll be in front of another purple gate with several more crab enemies in front of it. This is where you can get a skill point with the Taunter weapon by using it here and having all the crab enemies vaporize themselves, which is cool to watch, but really its only use. There's nothing you can do to really kill the crab enemies from behind the gate, so just get your Swingshot and use it on the target above the crabs. You won't wake them just by swinging, so jump over them and swing with the yellow Swingshot targets to get to a new area filled with the birds. The Pyrocitor works well on them as always, but the Walloper or the jump attack with the wrench will work too. Across the gap are a lot more crabs, which is why I suggested bringing the Bomb Glove. After you kill them, go across to the green area of land and up the platforms to find a few more crabs. They're in close proximity here, so I recommend you use the Blaster. Destroy the spinning ball, kill the crabs, and destroy the ball again and kill the crabs there to find a platform filled with a lot of crabs. Don't get close, though - a UFO-like enemy will come out and start shooting at you. You need the Devastator to destroy it, so if you have a hard time killing that I recommend you try and get the bolts for it. It takes three shots to take down, so stay far away enough to where it won't shoot at you but the auto lock-on of the Devastator is still active. There are a few more crabs ahead, and then two in the corner, and then a blue doorway to go through. The floor on it is magnetic, so walk upside down to go into a doorway and get the infobot you've been stalking for so long. You get the coordinates for planet Hoven, so jump down and head back through Clank's trail from his first mission to get to your ship. We're going to a Bomb Factory. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\-----------<< p. Bomb Factory, Hoven (Wlkp) >>-----------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ _____________________________________ --------------------| 1. Destroy the Planetbuster (Wlkp1) |-------------------- ************************************* Start by heading forward on the path near the Gadgetron and use your Walloper on all the short white enemies tht pop up from the ground. Follow the path to be ambushed by several of those rocket guys from Planet Eudora, which can be taken out very easily in groups with the Walloper as well. Beat two more groups of them, and then get across to the platforms to the left with the one moving back and forth. Some spiked enemies will pop out and fly to you, so buying a Drone Device at the Gadgetron helps a lot, but otherwise the Pyrocitor will do the job just fine. A flying helicopter will come after you on the last platform, so destroy it with a shot from your Devastator and a moving platform will activate. At the top, you'll be ambushed yet again by those missile enemies, so get out your Walloper and kill them all. If you grab the Nanotech on the bridge, another helicopter will come out, but it's not necessary to kill it and it won't follow you. Wall jump up the walls here and continue through the cave to get to another set of walls guarded by those spiked flying balls that you can burn. When you get to the top of the walls, equip your Walloper and go through the cave - a few of those short white enemies will come up, and you can then make short work of them. You'll now come to a set of floating platforms overlooking the bridge you were just at. These jumps are pretty tricky, so remember to jump from one platform to the next when yours is at the highest and your target platform is at its lowest. Head in the room to the right when you get to the other side, and a lot of missile enemies will be there waiting for you in formation, so spam your Walloper in the place where all of the missile enemies group up to take them out easily. Go out the doorway and onto the walkway to trigger a cutscene where Ratchet suggests using the turret to shoot down the ships. A large helicopter will come up, but you can smash it easily with one shot from the Devastator. You can now jump in the turret to start fighting the planetbuster. Fighting the actual ship itself isn't hard, but many (and I mean many) helicopter enemies will come up to you and start shooting, so what I like to do is just solely focus on taking down all of the helicopter enemies and enough of your stray fire will hit the ship to destroy it. It can get relatively difficult near the end, so expect to die once or twice before finishing with it. When you're done, the bomb will drop and an infobot will crawl out, showing the Chairman's new moonbase. The coordinates are for the Gemlik Base in the Oltanis Orbit, which you'll be headed to after these next two missions. ___________________________________ ---------------------| 2. Explore the Icy Wastes (Wlkp2) |--------------------- *********************************** From the spawn point, turn around and go into the doorway behind your ship. Several missile enemies will come through the door ahead, so use your Bomb Glove to kill them in a group. When you come out, you'll find a green pad on the ground in front of an icy river. Be careful not to fall in - you die when you touch the water here. Press the green plate, long jump to the right to press the second plate, and then use the Swingshot to get the final pad on top of the slippery hill. The doorway across the river will now open for you to enter inside. This next room features a wall with the green plates, and it's slightly harder than you would think. To start, jump on the left side first to hit the low plate, and then jump immediately as you hit until you get to the jump to the next plates. A lot of the time, your jump won't register unless you jump immediately after you make contact with the wall, so always be quick with your jumps. If you're too low or high to hit the plate with your jump, you can slide down the wall for a bit before you jump. Get all of them to release the lock to the door outside. Another icy river is here, except this time the floor is covered in slippery ice. You can easily jump across the gap here, but feel free to use the Swingshot target to get there if you need to. The next doorway is already open, and inside are two sets of two lasers moving back and forth through eachother with a Swingshot target at the end. It's all about timing here, so always fire when they're just about to pass through eachother. Attack the white enemies that show up where you land with the wrench and long jump past the icy river to the next area (or use the Swingshot target). Yet another barricade of lasers is moving here in front of a Swingshot target, so fire right before they pass through eachother and you'll hit it on time. Jump up on the snowy platforms to find yourself at the top of the area. All the platforms up here are covered in ice, so I recommend using your Walloper when you're about to fall off, and also because a few snowy enemies are waiting for you in the central platform. Once they're all dead, you're at the final obstacle, which is a timed plate pressing over to the large building in the center. There's no specific 'trick' to this, but I've found it always helps for me to double jump and glide to get to the second plate, and then long jump to the ledge where the third is. I did have a lot of trouble with this at first, though, so if anyone wants me to elaborate on this bit I'll be happy to help. Unlock the laser gate and you'll come across a guy with a large drill standing in the center of the building. The guy will give you some Raritanium, which is - surprise - what we needed to get the Persuader from the guy in the sewers on Planet Pokitaru. Be sure to stop by there and get it before continuing to the next planet. ___________________________________ --------------------| 3. Buy Hydro-Pack from Ed (Wlkp3) |-------------------- *********************************** jump on the elevator at the end of the path to the right and go in the cave. You'll be ambushed by yet another rocket enemy group, so beat them and fall in the center of the cylindrical room. You'll come out to a large room with several Hydrodisplacer ports. Run up to the first one here and use it to drain the water from the pipe, and then go behind the structure in the center and use that port to raise the water level completely. Jump on a rock in the water and use it to get on the ledge. Go around a short corner there to find another one of those water pump things, and go to the opposite side of the room to use the Hydrodisplacer port and raise the water level. There's a ledge right next to you from where you raise it, so jump on that and use that port too to get more water, and then go on the ledge on the opposite side to raise it one more time, bringing you high enough to jump on the platform in the middle and long jump to the doorway to exit. Go through the cave to come out to the first spot that resembles a Bomb Factory in the place. Equip your Walloper and jump down to the left side of the conveyor belts. You can throw your wrench to blow them up and get the bolts, but I usually don't do that. At the end, you'll find yet another mechanic like the one from Planet Pokitaru, and she'll offer to equip you with a Hydro-Pack for 2,000 bolts. It lets you swim quickly/against currents underwater, it's relatively cheap, and you need it to beat the game, so go and buy it. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\--------<< q. Gemlik Base, Oltanis Orbit (Wlkq) >>--------/`~`~`~`~` \________________________________________________________/ _________________________ --------------------------| 1. Explore Base (Wlkq1) |-------------------------- ************************* This is one of my favorite missions in the game, because it's long and difficult, but ultimately very fun and rewarding. You're going to need full ammo for either the Devastator or the Visibomb Gun to do this one, so go get the Persuader if you haven't already done so and get the Devastator. You're also probably going to find full ammo for the Pyrocitor, Bomb Glove, and Blaster very useful as well, so get those if you can and jump down to the area across the bridge after your ship and begin. There are a lot of those short enemies that come in groups in this first area, so burn them all up and then get out your Devastator and go into first person view (L1 or L2). There's a slightly large tower with a beacon at the top next to the bridge, so shoot at the area with the blinking light in the center to destroy it. It goes down in one shot, so if you missed you're aiming too low on the tower. Despite what the auto-lock on says, the part resembling glass is where you want to shoot. Jump up the stairs here and get out your Pyrocitor before going into the area with the flying enemies you just fought. There's going to be one of those fire-stomping enemies in this area, but the Pyrocitor works well on him too. There's another one of those large guardtower-like things across the gate, so stand in the back of the area and fire at it to take it down. Before you go in the next area, take note of the red enemy sitting in the small green hut at the far end. He uses a turret, but he's much better at aiming and much faster than the turrets you saw at Qwark's HQ. There's always a trick to getting out of these guys' lines of sight, and to do this first one, just immediately jump to the right and over the platforms there to get behind him and whack him to death. Even if you're behind him, he'll never actually get up, so you're home free as long as you're out of his line of sight. The next gate is blocked by a Trespasser lock: (tp9) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #9-------: : : : Outer Ring: 2 : : Middle Ring: 2,4 : : Inner Ring: 12 : : : :----------------------------------: Solve that, and you'll come upon another turret house. Cross this one the same way you did the last one - head to the right immediately and walk around. There are some stairs with a few short bird enemies like the ones you fought earlier. The next area is blocked by, you guessed it, another Trespasser lock: (tp10) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #10------: : : : Outer Ring: 4 : : Middle Ring: 11 : : Inner Ring: 7,12 : : : :----------------------------------: This gate unlocks the final turret-glasshouse enemy, who you can cross by first equipping the Bomb Glove, long jumping over the edge of the left side, and then tossing a bomb at the enemies waiting to kill them and getting behind the turret. The next area you'll come up to has many of those short enemies, so kill them with bombs or with Blaster fire and then fire another Devastator missile at the tower behind the laser gate. Once it's unlocked, though, don't step inside immediately. A ship will be waiting there that can kill you very easily and takes two Devastator shots to kill. Stand far enough back so that he can't shoot you before you fire, and then go forward where the ship was to unlock the next door. This time, there's two ships waiting right there, so stand far back before you shoot Devastator shots at them. Get out your Blaster and clear the area of the explosive tanks before continuing out. There's a bullet enemy waiting for you to the left, so kill him and then head onto the elevator in the building in front of you. You'll be taken to an underground room with more of the short brown things, so burn them up and continue. The next room here fills up with acid very quickly, so make a run for it when it's at its lowest and make it to the platform with the highest elevation before it rises up fully. The next area is a Swingshot bit with acid, so throw the Swingshot at the target when the acid is about 1/4 of its total height and declining. Have the Bomb Glove equipped as soon as you land, and remember to spam the absolute hell out of the fire button when you get over there. It's not that you need to fire a ton, but for some unexplainable reason the Bomb Glove will only work when you're on the ground on this world, so be quick. The next area is a Magneboot walkway that goes right up to some lava, but it easy to cross if you start going on the deeper parts as soon as it starts falling. Another missile enemy is waiting for you at the end, so use the Blaster on him and get ready for a tricky jump. I haven't really found a way to pass the gap to the right without losing a bit of health here, but if you're desperate you can most likely stand on a crate of acid, long jump from there, and then glide to just barely make it. Otherwise, you'll lose one bit of health when you just try to long jump and glide. Get the Nanotech to the left to recover your health, and take the elevator to the surface. This area is a favorite of mine. You come out to a spot with a few of the short enemies hopping around, so burn them up. A gate is there and a tower is visible within it, but it seems impossible to destroy! To blow it up, just head to the right side of the building, kill the short enemies, hop on the ledge, and look through the window into the warehouse, where the tower is perfectly centered and easy to blow up. Pretty ingenious, no? Anyways, once you've got that, restock on your ammo with the Gadgetron that's on the ledge if you're low and go up to the second step that leads into the warehouse. There's one of those annoying flying enemies waiting for you, so destroy it where you're safe and go in. There are two pieces of Nanotech along with some bolts on the top levels, which can be reached by high jumping from the tops of the tanks and pressing the 'X' button to jet forward and reach the sides. Ahead, there's a long row of turret guards hiding out in a building preventing you from progressing. To kill them, go up to the lock to the right of the walkway they're guarding and use your Trespasser: (tp11) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #11------: : : : Outer Ring: 11,12 : : Middle Ring: 7,10 : : Inner Ring: 9 : : : :----------------------------------: All three will be hunched over their turrets inside, so kill them off and don't hit any of the gas tanks. Go to the end of the walkway and look right. There's a lot of enemies there, but hidden behind the wall are also two of those awful flying missile enemies. Jump down in the area to get them to come out, and then retreat back and use the Devastator on them to finish them off before using the Pyrocitor to burn all of the easier enemies remaining there. The path continues on the side of the building forward, but before you continue, look at the wall to the right of the area. There are three square holes in it, and if you look down in them you'll see none other than some turret enemies waiting to ambush you. Go forward from there and cross the path they were guarding to get onto an elevator. It'll flip you upside down, and you'll come out walking on the ceiling of a room heavily guarded with enemies. Although it looks like you're at a vantage point with your spot, you can't fire any weapons from a Magneboot walkway, so just jump down, get your Pyrocitor in hand, and burn the place down. If you're having trouble with the fire-stomping enemies, use the Blaster or the Devastator. Finally, you'll find Qwark standing at the end of a walkway. Before you can smash him, though, he'll jump backwards onto his ship and fly away. Ratchet gets his ship now, and you come to a ship fighting segment boss battle. ********************************* BOSS BATTLE ********************************* CAPTAIN QWARK This is a battle done entirely with your ship, and it's practically all dodging. Qwark will fly away from you while you focus on destroying the sides of his ship and then his thrusters to knock him out of the sky (space?), and the only time he'll attack you head-on is when he sucks you up and holds you in front of him while he shoots alternating missiles at you. Shoot the missiles that he fires at you with your bullets, and then fire your missiles at him when you're locked on to him and he's dropping bombs or whatnot behind him. The fight is easily beaten if you remember to dodge and also to use the 'X' button to boost to make dodging easier. Combine all of this, and he'll be gone within just a few moments. ******************************************************************************* Beat the battle, and you'll get not only an infobot with the coordinates for the Gorda City Ruins on planet Oltanis, but an amazing new ship too! This one has a really great purple design which I love, and reinforces the feeling that you're really making progress in the game. Anyways, you've done all there is to do on this planet, so get in your ship and head off to planet Oltanis. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\--------<< r. Gorda City Ruins, Oltanis (Wlkr) >>--------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ _______________________________________________ ---------------| 1. Find survivors of the Blarg attack (Wlkr1) |--------------- *********************************************** On the intro cutscene to this world, Clank gets struck by a lightning bolt and is made unusable on this world, which means you're all alone for a while. This world's Gadgetron weapon is the Tesla Claw, but unfortunately it's 30,000 bolts even with the Persuader. Instead, get the Drone Device and get full ammo for it. Start the mission by jumping on the floating platform to get down to the regular floor and go forward past the statue into the alley. There are some of those bots that turn red and blow up, so get out your Pyrocitor here and burn them all up. This next area is relatively difficult. Four enemies with electric laser weapons will jump out of a sewer grate and all fire at you. Fortunately for you, there's the Bomb Glove, so double jump over all of their beams and throw a couple bombs to kill them all at once. The next area is slightly higher and on the right, but it's guarded by a flying yellow enemy not unlike the one you saw at the last planet. Get out your Devastator and stand a few feet behind the platform, but aim slightly higher than you think you should to avoid losing a Devastator missile to the stairs. Get out your Pyrocitor and burn up all of the small robots ahead. More of those electric enemies will come out of the sewer opening, so bomb them quickly and then continue up to the left. This area is a bit tricky, so get out your Devastator before you jump up and immediately go into first person. Another one of those yellow bomb ships will come out, but its bombing range is too short to reach you when you stand at the back. Fire three shots very quickly and jump back down to avoid getting hit by more of the electric enemies. When they go back in the sewer, quickly run and bomb them to make it by and continue. Go to the right, equip your Bomb Glove if you don't already have it out, and jump on the Grindboot rail for a very short trip. About five electric enemies will come out of the two sewers next to you, so bomb them all quickly and use the Pyrocitor to burn the short robot enemies there too. Next to the golden bolt mentioned above is also some Nanotech and a flying mouse spot for the Sonic Summoner, so it's a good idea to head up there if you don't want to die. Jump on the walkway that continues the level and wait at the edge for another one of the flying yellow attack enemies to show up. His bombs won't reach you from the edge, so shoot three times with the Devastator to destroy it. Equip the Bomb Glove before you jump up onto the next platform and quickly toss a bomb at the electric enemy before he has a chance to shoot you. Head to the left and burn up the small robots, and then go to the right to see a turret shooting down the walkway. It's a bit harder to pass these things without long jumps, but it'll work. Go to the end of it to find some more small robots and a Grindboot rail, so burn the robots or just jump straight on. Here's a twist, though: three electric robot enemies will come out from under the blue plate in front of the rail and jump on, following after you. This part is pretty intense at first, but not very hard. The bots will shoot bolts of lightning at you, so when that happens jump to the rail without one shooting. Eventually, you'll come to a crossing point with two towers where the middle one goes through an electric fence while the two around it go around the towers, which are the ones you want to be on. This will kill one of the robots, and immediately after you pass you want to be on the leftmost rail for the next gate, which has the middle and right rails through the electricity. An enemy will come by and place a spiked bomb at the point where the leftmost rail bends, so attack right before that point to pass it. Ahead, the same thing will happen but for the rightmost side. All of these gates will kill the three bots, and you'll then come out to find a shopkeeper with an infobot to sell you for 2,000 bolts. The infobot gives you the coordinates for Planet Quartu. Smash up the crates here and press the yellow button to get back to the starting area for the next mission. ______________________________________ -------------------| 2. Search the destroyed city (Wlkr2) |-------------------- ************************************** The next mission begins in the upper part of the city, which you can get to by taking the hover taxi in the starting area. You'll be welcomed by a turret, but it begins shooting pretty far away from you so you have plenty of time to destroy it. The next platform has a spotlight robot hovering over it, which will send a lot of enemies out to attack you if it spots you even if you destroy it. To pass it, wait until it hits your side of the platform and follow it while it's moving away from you. When it hits the other side and comes back in the other direction, double jump to the right over its beam to get past it. There are a lot of those short bots that turn angry and zap you in here, but if you get out your Swingshot, jump up all the platforms, and go to the target you can avoid them. Once you land, a turret will be shooting at the top. Double jump over its missiles and then slam the three bots there, getting the Nanotech if you need it. Climb up the side of the wall to the right to come up on another spotlight area filled with the bots. This area can be tricky, but passable if you're fast. There's a space between the first and second spotlight wide enough for you to stand in, so pass the first one and then go all the way to the right. The next two are right against eachother, so wait until the first one moves out of the way and then go past the spotlights. There are some bots here and another spotlight, but you can ignore the enemies and follow behind the last spotlight as it moves to get to the end of the platform. At the end here, a ship is floating around a cylinder building with a Swingshot target over it, so swing to it and then swing to another target in a hole in the building to the right of the spotlight platform. This next area is definitely the hardest to avoid, with four spotlight bots moving counter-clockwise quickly. To get past them, run right as soon as the one spotlight has passed you and follow right behind it, staying near the center. Jump on the peg-like platform at the end here to see another turret waiting for you over a platform section. Although it appears difficult, just be cautious when the bullets come near you and jump before it hits to make it out. This area has a second Swingshot boat, so get on it and then wait until another one comes in sight and swing to that. You'll come near a building that looks like a double-layered cake, and the last Swingshot target is over a boat that circles round the building. It may look like you'll get hit here, but the odds are very low you actually will. The Glove of Doom works well here by just tossing it on the ground and letting it take care of the turrets, but going into first-person view with the Blaster and shooting at everything in sight works even better. Even the spotlight bot explodes in only a few hits, and with nothing to alert since the turrets are all already out there. Jump down when they're all dead and climb up the ladder on the wall to get to the shiny object that you've had your eye on. It looks like a golden bolt from afar, but in actuality it's a new weapon! The Morph-o-ray turns enemies into chickens, and can even be useful at times if you're running low on ammo and faced with large groups of small enemies. It's a fun weapon, and you still have time to use it with missions, so consider giving it a shot. For now, we still have one more mission to finish up on this world, so try it there if you like. ________________________________________________ --------------| 3. Purchase Gadgetron PDA from 'Steve' (Wlkr3) |--------------- ************************************************ The last mission in this world begins in an odd place, which is on a curved Magneboot walkway to the left of the starting area. It's directly to the right of where the hovering circlular platform drops you off from your ship, and resembles a lamp post from a distance. Step on the platform with the button to be taken to another place with a purple electric fence and an ice floor. There's a path to the right that you need to get to, but a wind is blowing strongly enough to push you away from it if you try to get it. Run straight forward when you cross the ice to make it in. Here's another Magneboot platform, where the obstacle is floating red balls that you can destroy with your wrench. You'll land in a place with a lot of ice and a split off into two paths, although you can only go on to the right one due to the wind. It's an ice area, and has purple lasers across it, so go slowly here and double jump across them when you get near. Cross the Magneboot platform and do the same thing to continue. Another Magneboot platform with the spiked red balls takes you to an area made totally of ice. One of those yellow missile ship enemies will be waiting there, so stand back and shoot it down with the Devastator. There is another electric enemy hiding beneath a plate at the back, so run forward and bomb it before it has a chance to hit you. Go over to where the blue plate is and look to the left to see a small platform. Jump over there and up to get on another ice track, which has four purple lasers. It may look daunting, but really it's just four short hops. The end comes pretty suddenly, so get out your Walloper and punch in the direction you came from if you feel you might not make it with just double jumps alone. Surprisingly, Captain Qwark is over here standing behind what looks to be a lemonade stand with the Gadgetron logo pasted on it. Go over to him, and he'll offer you a 'Gadgetron PDA', which is only 1,000 bolts and is actually pretty neat. It lets you order ammo anywhere, and even discounts it for you with the Persuader. Go on the Magneboot platform and press the button to get back. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\----------<< s. Robot Plant, Quartu I (Wlks) >>----------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ _______________________________________________ ---------------| 1. Find out more about the Ultra-Mech (Wlks1) |--------------- *********************************************** Run forward here and burn up all the short enemies with the Pyrocitor. There's a robot enemy here that's pretty tall, but it can be killed with a few hits of wrench. Head left here and swing across the gap in the bridge with the Swingshot target. Go to the right and burn up all the smaller enemies, and then quickly bomb all of the electric enemies that come out of the hole. Keep going to the right here and burn all of the short enemies while bombing all of the electric ones, and soon you'll come to a dead end. There's a doorway on the right, so go through it and burn all of the short enemies before talking to the guy on the right in the building. The guy will let you turn Clank into a giant to fight some giant robots, so punch with Mech-Clank to destroy some of the walls, and press the fire button to shoot missiles. This area is very easy, so just keep pressing the punch button and head back around from the direction you came from until you get to the bridge with the Swingshot target. The arena in the center of the place will open up for you to go in, and from there you can go and fight the battle mechs that were shown in the infobot for this planet. You have three attacks here, which are the two previously mentioned along with the triangle button attack, which shoots a concentrated burst of energy. Use your punch button when the robots are on the ground next to you, use your missiles when they're on the edges of the arena or you're fighting the helicopter enemies, and use your energy attack when there are too many of them. Beat them all and you'll get an infobot for the Gadgetron planet itself, Planet Kalebo III. Head back to your ship to start the next mission. ______________________________________ -------------------| 2. Explore the coolant system (Wlks2) |------------------- ************************************** Remember when you got that upgrade to go faster underwater a few planets ago? This is where it sees some use. Go over to the left of your ship to find a ladder of pipes, which will take you to a room of water. Dive down, hold R1 which activates the Thruster-pack, and swim through the three rings to open the door. It's sort of like Qwark's green plate buttons from his trial. Head through the open door and swim quickly through the lasers to get to the end. Resurface here to find a button on a platform amidst a body of electric water. Pressing it activates a timed sequence where you have to go through all of the chambers while avoiding lasers. It may look stressful, but really everything is laid out in front of you in a linear path, and the lasers are easily avoidable by swimming to the right or above them (though you can swim in other places to pass them too). Reach the end, and you'll get the Bolt Grabber, which lets you get bolts without having to walk right over them. It doesn't sound like much, but it's actually pretty great. This ends our first trip to the planet Quartu. We're here to explore through the factory in the first place, but we need a Hologuise to get past the entrance, which is why we're now headed to the Gadgetron HQ at Planet Kalebo III to get one. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\--------<< t. Gadgetron Site, Kalebo III (Wlkt) >>--------/`~`~`~`~` \_______________________________________________________/ ___________________________________ ---------------------| 1. Win the Hoverboard race (Wlkt1)|-------------------- *********************************** Head to the right where the other two assassin enemies went and burn up all of the short enemies. Equip the Walloper before you go into the doorway on the left. There are a lot of crash test dummies that come out here and throw bombs, but you can kill them off quickly by either punching them with the Walloper or just burning them, which takes more ammo. Before you go up the elevator here, prepare to fight some more of those assassins and take care of them with either the Blaster or Devastator (Blaster works much better here though). On the right is a doorway in the middle of a wall activated by a button, so shoot it with the Blaster and glide in. Equip the Walloper immediately and punch all of those detonator enemies that come up to you. Another room of crash test dummies is up ahead, but these all use the Walloper and as a result are much harder to kill up close without dying, so definitely use the Pyrocitor here. Some more of those short enemies are up ahead followed by two more assassins, so back up into the last room, equip the Drone Device, and then fire the Devastator at both to kill them. There's some Nanotech to the right and left of you here, so get that before long jumping to the platform on the left to continue. Some more detonator bots over here, so use the Walloper. There's a platform to the left here with a Swingshot target indicating you should swing with it, but it's basically a trick. Instead, long jump to the right here to get to another platform which takes you closer to it, and you'll see a yellow button on the side showing that the area is blocked off by lasers. Stand on the edge of the platform, shoot the button with the Blaster, and then Swingshot over to get to a Grindboot rail. Kill all the short enemies at this platform here and then go through the next area with the Pyrocitor or your weapon of choice equipped. If you haven't noticed it yet, they use the last weapon you were using when you last fought them, which is pretty ingenious to me. The Pyrocitor works best on them the majority of the time, though, so use it and get it over with. The next area has three more assassins, so stand at the doorway and fire Devastator missiles with drones around you to kill them. Some more short enemies are ahead, so burn them and get the Nanotech to the right if you were injured. Up ahead, yet another set of those assassins will be out, so kill them using the same method. This time, there's an odd triangle shaped flying enemy near them, which takes four Devastator shots to kill but won't fire back. Head forward, use the Walloper on the detonator bots, and then cross here to continue. The final crash test dummy room is to the left, where all of the attacks from before are combined to form an evil group. Luckily for you, it's not in a closed room, so back up relatively far and use the Blaster to destroy all of them without getting near. Head to the right after this to find an old lizard looking man who will put you up agains a test bot in a Hoverboard race. This one is similar to the one from Planet Rilgar, except for the boosts being much more spaced out and the addition of missiles which you can use to attack your opponents. You want to hit every single speed boost possible on this track, or else you can end up going quite a while going very slow. Beating this race can be very difficult, but a trick is to use the shortcuts. The first noticeable one is to the right from the first big ramp on the track, but is only reachable by boosting. To boost, you need to do a trick off a ramp and fill up the boost meter, and then hold the attack button to use it. Do this from the ramp to get to the side, and then boost as you go through the three rings here. Doing so unlocks the gate across the other side, and keep doing the same thing to finish the race with a bit better of a time. There's another one of these near the end of the track, and doing both of these will get you in first place for sure. Finishing will give you the Hologuise, which will let you disguise yourself as a Sentry Bot and let you enter the factory back at Planet Quartu. Before we go, though, there's another mission to do. ________________________________ ----------------------| 2. Ride the Grind Rail (Wlkt2) |----------------------- ******************************** When you headed to the right to start the last mission from the beginning, this time head to the left and take the elevator. It's the same rules as always - jump over metal objects, hit the red spiked balls, and if anything is coming into your way on the track, move to another one that isn't in the way. When there's another rail that comes up next to you, jump to it. Make it to the end, and you'll meet the voice of the Gadgetron. She'll give you the Map-o-matic just for coming there, which reveals all of the hidden spots on the map by highlighting them. After getting the golden bolt, teleport back and take the taxi to get to the start of the rail, where you can go back to the start. We've finished everything here, so get back in your ship and get ready to go to planet Quartu again. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\---------<< u. Robot Plant, Quartu II (Wlku) >>----------/`~`~`~`~`~ \______________________________________________________/ _______________________________________ -------------------| 1. Infiltrate the secure area (Wlku1) |------------------- *************************************** Before you start, put the Hologuise on Quick Select and kill the three short robots near the factory entrance with your Blaster (Don't be afraid to let the bot see you). The Sentry Bot guarding it can see you from pretty far away, so you want to disguise yourself before you walk down the slope towards it. Walk past the guard outside into the doors, and then wave to the Sentry Bot inside to get him to let the gate down. Kill the guard there, and then jump up and kill the one to the left. There's a room full of acid ahead with another bot at the far end, so get out your Devastator and blow it up before it has a chance to set off the alarm. Head to the right here and then to the left with your disguise on. There are three bots here, but only two have access to an alarm. Wait until both of them aren't looking, and jump across the gap and smash the two. One will try for the alarm, so attack it first. The last one will spot you too, but can't do anything to attack. Smash it and climb up the ladder to shimmy on the ledge. A few robots are above you, but there's no way to get to them, so keep going to the left until you pass the conveyor belt. It drops vats of acid, so cross right as soon as they pass you and jump up on the ledge at the end. Equip your disguise before you move around the corner here. Wave to one of the bots to get past the gate, and then try and destroy all of them at once before they can press the alarm. If they do manage to press it, a few bolts of electricity will come after you, but it's possible to avoid them just by double jumping a lot. High jump to get up the pipe and then go forward to go into a green room full of acid. Two robots will be marching side-by-side below, so get out of the disguise and destroy them with the Devastator. Go across the conveyor belt here and destroy the robot here before he has a chance to press the alarm. In a tunnel on the right are three more bots walking back and forth. Jump up the ledge when they're walking away from you and blow them up with the Devastator. Double jump past all of the gaps in the ground and go into the place to the right to see some more robots. Try and take them out with the Devastator if you can, but if not just Swingshot up to the platform they're on and smash them all up. Stand on the button here, do a high jump, and smash it down by pressing R1 twice like back on Planet Pokitaru. Go forward here and equip your disguise to let down another robot gate, and smash the bot afterwards. Go to the left here to find the room that you first see Clank in at the beginning of the game, and after the cutscene you'll obtain the coordinates for the last spot on the map in the game, Drek's Fleet at the Veldin Orbit. Head there when you're ready. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\--------<< v. Drek's Fleet, Veldin Orbit (Wlkv) >>--------/`~`~`~`~` \________________________________________________________/ __________________________________________________ -------------| 1. Find the coordinates for Drek's Laser (Wlkv1) |------------- ************************************************** Welcome to the ending moments of the game. If you look on the map, you'll find that the ship isn't just one giant stage, but it's actually spread across several ships, which is why it's 'Drek's Fleet' instead of his ship. Start by going to the teleporter on the right of your ship. There's a Sentry Bot in this first room with no alarm, so kill it and equip your disguise for the next room. Wave to the robot to get him to unlock it and then kill him. The next room is filled with small dogs, so jump across the laser and burn them up. Smash the crates in here before using the teleporter to 'Dreadnought'. Go forward here and equip your disguise to find a room with three robots in it and several lasers walking in and out of rooms. Wait until the first one has his back turned and is walking into his room to jump attack him and kill him. Do the same thing for the next three and continue forwards. The next room has a similar thing going for it, except with four robots and several robot dogs in the middle. Wait until the robots have their backs turned here to jump in and wipe out all of the dogs, and then turn into a robot again before they come back. You don't have to kill the Sentry Bots in this one, so continue forward to the last room. There's a Sentry Bot here, so wave to him and kill him to use the teleporter to the 'Light Cruiser'. Use the Swingshot here to pass the laser pit and smash up all the dogs. Unfortunately, one Sentry Bot will always be facing you in this next room, which means you have to be quick for this. Go to the doorway without your disguise and fire one Devastator shot at the guard. He'll hit you if you don't have the Drone Device activated, but the room will be free for you to murder the dogs in afterwards. Again, wait until the robots have their backs turned to kill them. Wave to the Sentry Bot at the front of the ship and then smash him when his back his turned. Take the final teleporter to Drek's Flagship. Go to the right here outside the ship and press the button. It'll flip you upside down and put you on a Magneboot platform. There are some deadly turrets firing here, so walk over to where the platform has a part going off to the left and step on the button. There's a ship inside, and you'll get to go out and blow up the turrets yourself. This is a standard ship battle and it only takes two shots of the ship's missiles to take down each turret. Given that there's plenty of ammo from the ahip's drops, this isn't a very hard bit. Beat that, go back up to the path they were blocking, and step on the button at the end to end up in a room full of lasers upside-down. The places where the lasers hit are marked black, so cross those areas and step on the button on the platform at the end. You'll be flipped back right-side up, so go forward into the next room to find Chairman Drek. Or an infobot where he should be. He's actually on Planet Veldin for the destruction itself, and you'll now have the coordinates for it. Drek's Fleet may be the last new level, but it's not the last. You can go there now or complete the other mission on this planet if you'd like. __________________________________________ -----------------| 2. Swim through the water tanker (Wlkv2) |------------------ ****************************************** Jump in the water in the starting area and swim down until you find three rings circling the main platform. Use the Thruster-pack here to get all of them, and it'll open the doorway at the bottom of the water to get to the next part of the ship. This part is a timed electric segment using the Thruster-pack, exactly like the mission from Planet Quartu where you got the Bolt Grabber. It uses electric fan blades this time, but the good news is that the lasers are completely stationary and the mission is relatively easy due to it. Get to the end to get a CodeBot, which is a one-time-use only item used to open Invinco-Vaults. I'm not really sure what an Invinco-Vault is right now, but it's good to have it. Go to the right to take a ship back to the beginning. It's time to go back to Planet Veldin. _______________________________________________________________________________ `~`~`~`~`~\----------<< w. Kyzil Plateau, Veldin (Wlkw) >>----------/`~`~`~`~`~ \_______________________________________________________/ __________________________________ ----------------------| 1. Save Ratchet's planet (Wlkw1) |--------------------- ********************************** This marks the final mission of the game. Here's a mini-nostalgia trip for you. You'll land at the part where you first started out in the game, with the same starting enemies and everything. I recommend getting full ammo on all weapons you use a lot here. Go to the second platform to see another one of those assassin enemies from the Gadgetron world, and kill it with the Devastator. Keep going along the original path and kill the harder enemies with the Devastator or Blaster. When you get to the tunnel shaped like the mouse head, there's another one of those triangle shaped floating enemies that shoot missiles and die in four Devastator shots, so take care of that. Up ahead is a pretty tough enemy that looks sort of like an anteater and shoots rapid-fire missiles. Kill it with two Devastator shots and keep going along the original path until you get in front of the area that Clank crash landed in at the start. Equip the Drone Device and kill off all the assassin enemies waiting inside. There's a tank and a floating triangle shaped enemy in the back above where you found Clank, so kill them both and head across the bridge to a gate with a Trespasser lock. (tp12) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #12------: : : : Outer Ring: 2,10 : : Middle Ring: 7,10 : : Inner Ring: N/A : : : :----------------------------------: Go to the right and walk on the Magneboot platform to get to the top of the area. Drain the water here and stomp on the button at the bottom. There's a Gadgetron at the top here, so restock on Devastator ammo if you have it before coming down. There are four assassin enemies down here along with a tank, so equip the Drone Device and take them all out. Next is a large area with a lot of asssassin enemies and a few of the flying triangle shaped enemies. This area is one of the hardest spots in the game, so I recommend you bite the bullet and just use the Devastator for most or if not all of them. After you pass the corner, there's three more assassins and another triangle ship, so shoot them all down and Swingshot to the far end to get to another Trespasser lock: (tp13) :-------Trespasser Puzzle #13------: : : : Outer Ring: 4,6 : : Middle Ring: 3 : : Inner Ring: 5,7 : : : :----------------------------------: Once it's unlocked, go through the gate and keep going until the far left opens up to a group of the assassin enemies. Swingshot to the green target across the pit and climb up the ladder. There's a huge amount of assassins here, and once you shoot they'll all shoot back at the same time. You only need to destroy the front ones here, so climb up the ladder, shoot some Devastator shots at a few, and jump back down before all their fire comes in. It's not worth it to try and kill them all, so once you think you've got enough, go on the platform out there and jump in the pipe to the left. Use the Hydrodisplacer here and fill the room up with water. Jump in and swim through the tunnel on the side to get to the next part of the level, and then come back out. You get to turn into Giant Clank again! Head through the paths of enemies and step on the giant spot with headlights to find none other than Chairman Drek, in a giant robot himself. Time to battle. ********************************* BOSS BATTLE ********************************* CHAIRMAN DREK The first part of this is pretty short. He'll start shooting a lot of missiles at you, so shoot some back and use the focused energy attack (triangle button) to knock him into another cutscene. He'll shrink you down to regular size and then have you come follow him. Get some Devastator ammo before continuing here, and then Swingshot the targets to follow him over to a rock platform, where the real fight begins. His main attacks are either guided missiles or a ball that shoots a wave of flames from it. To avoid the missiles you run, and to avoid the ball flames just jump. The best time to attack is always when he's just finished using one of his attacks, and after a while he'll destroy the platform you're fighting on and move forward. The next stage is more of the first, except with a new attack. At random, he'll throw a large amount of spiked red balls on the ground that will follow you if you get too close. This is an annoying attack, but these aren't too hard to avoid and are always destroyed when he uses his flame wave attack. When he's around half health he'll destroy the platform and move on to yet another. On this final platform, he'll press the countdown button, and you'll have thirty seconds to stop it by slamming the button down. He keeps all of his old attacks for this, but also has a few new attacks. The main one is when he gets up and lets out a lot of bots to come and fight you, but in the final stages he also has a large beam attack with energy and a button attack that decreases all the way down to 15 seconds. Another one is that after you press the button, he'll chase you down and won't stop till he injures you, but you can prevent that by going out on one of the spots jutting from the platform at its sides and get away. This is pretty easily done by jumping on the rails around the spot and using them as Grind Rails, which is a very cool feature. It's a very fun fight, and once you've beaten it, you're given the honor of pressing the giant button to fire. Ratchet and Clank will just barely make it safely back, and afterwards you've beaten the game! Hooray! ******************************************************************************* After the game, you have the option of either starting a new game with your old weapons and bolts, or choosing to continue from your last save (so at the beginning of this planet). It's up to you really, but if you haven't already gotten all of the golden bolts or skill points, I suggest you do that and beat Drek again before doing a New Game+. O=======================<< II. Golden Bolts (Gb) >>===========================O (gb1) O--------------O Planet Novalis O--------------O #1 - Once you've gotten the Thruster-pack, jump in the river and thrust against the current up the left stream until you get out in a cave. Head to the back of it and go on a path to the right to come up and get a golden bolt. #2 - Go on the path of the mission to get where the Plumber was, and stop once you get past the first room to the small room made of technology parts. In the doorway to the next room, the space is small enough to wall jump, so do that and you'll make it up to a ledge with a golden bolt. #3 - Go on the path to the right of the entrance to the Plumber's place and keep going along it until you get to the room with the three water pools. Look for a semi-chipped wall on the left, and then throw a bomb at it to reveal the golden bolt behind it. (gb2) O-------------O Planet Kerwan O-------------O #1 - Jump off the back of the platform in the starting area and glide to where all the hover cars are passing to find the golden bolt. #2 - On the fitness course, climb to the top of the second tower and look to the right from the wall climb spot where you get up. There's a grey building there, so long jump to it and glide until you get into the entrance and find a golden bolt. #3 - At the train station, high jump over the boxes to the right to see the golden bolt above some crates in the back of the area. (gb3) O-------------O Planet Aridia O-------------O #1 - Go to the lowest point on the map and face north. You'll see an oddly discolored wall, so fire a weapon at it to destroy it and find a golden bolt inside. #2 - Go to where you find Skid McMarx's agent and look north towards the wall. Go up the Magneboot platforms here and into the green spot at the top to find a golden bolt. #3 - Go to the strip of sand in the middle of all the mud on the map. In the peninsula part, there's a truck with the golden bolt on it. #4 - Go to the area where you get the Trespasser and drop down onto one of the blades circling below. That's where you'll find the golden bolt. (gb4) O-------------O Planet Eudora O-------------O #1 - To the left of the ship, there are four yellow robots with blades. The wall they move in front of has a golden bolt on it, so high jump and then press 'X' again to jet forward and get the bolt. (gb5) O----------O Nebula G34 O----------O #1 - Go outside the airlock and when you're meant to glide from the first to the second ship, instead long jump right and go onto the wing of the 2nd ship and get the golden bolt on the back. #2 - In the room with a lot of holes in the sides with crates, jump on the top ledge on the left side and look for a room with a small place inside. In there you'll find the golden bolt. (gb6) O-------------O Planet Rilgar O-------------O #1 - In the grid-like area with the laser walls, go outside of it and stand on the rising sewer plate. Wait until it rises to the top, and then long jump to one of the supporting plates holding up the grid. Run all the way to the end of that line, and then turn to the right and do the same to jump into the area with the golden bolt. #2 - After you finish the rising water sequence, go back to the spot in it where the platforms start rising and dive to the bottom to the side of it, which is where a pipe is that takes you to a room with the golden bolt. (gb7) O-------------O Planet Umbris O-------------O #1 - Past the segment where you run in fences while a turret shoots at you, you land on a bridge after using the Swingshot. Long jump to the patches of land surrounding the building to the right, and to get the gate door open, land on all the green plates surrounding the place and go in for the bolt. #2 - Go to the part in the middle of the map with the Hydrodisplacer part, and after you go through the tunnel in the water from the start, jump up on platform facing south and look straight down to see the bolt next to some green plates. (gb8) O--------------O Planet Batalia O--------------O #1 - Go to the Trespasser lock on the left in the starting area, and wall jump up the sides to find the golden bolt on the roof. #2 - Cross the first bridge with the tank on it and go right. There's a patch of land that you can just barely reach with a long jump, and the golden bolt can be found around the corner past a few platforms of land. (gb9) O------------O Planet Orxon O------------O #1 - Go on the path that Clank does in his mission and when you get to the hallway before the large room on the lower left of the map, look across from where the crab enemy (to the left if you're going the original way) and wall jump up to find a golden bolt. #2 - There's a snake shaped stretch of land going fron the right to the lower right of the map. Get the Visibomb gun and go to where the land meets the lower right part of the map, which is at the beginning of Clank's second mission. The bolt is on what looks like a monster's mouth, and so when you get to it fire the Visibomb gun at the wall behind it to open up the land. Do this about four more times and guide all the missiles through until you get it to the end of the tunnel. Afterwards, go up to where it starts on the map from Ratchet's mission and go through the tunnel to get the bolt. (gb10) O-------------O Planet Gaspar O-------------O #1 - On the platform you get the Pilot's Helmet at, long jump from the corner into the volcano shaped pit and go to the end of the tunnel to get the golden bolt. #2 - To the right of the starting area, long jump to the low platforms and Swingshot across the lava to another platform. There's a ship here with a generator, so destroy that and swing with the target it makes. Keep going along the paths and destroying the ships until you come to a platform with four ships tethered to it. Destroy all of the tethers to get a makeshift bridge and get to the bolt. (gb11) O---------------O Planet Pokitaru O---------------O #1 - Dive next to the northern face of the landmass on the lower left of the map to find a tunnel. Keep going along the path here and jump up the waterfall at the end for the golden bolt. (gb12) O------------O Planet Hoven O------------O #1 - From the starting area, go along the path to the right and behind the trees that the short snow enemies pop out in front of. There's a thing that's moving up and down the wall, and it has a metallic wall inside of it, so use it to wall jump up the wall and get to the golden bolt. #2 - Go to the room where you fill up the place with water at three different levels. In the place where you fill up the Hydrodisplacer for the second time, there's a golden bolt on a ledge. Fill the last level up and then swim back there to get it. (gb13) O-------------O Oltanis Orbit O-------------O #1 - After you've beaten the base, go to the room with the rising and falling acid on the northernmost part of the map, and look to the west/left. There's a golden bolt in a room through the window, so just high jump and jet forward to get in the hole and get it. (gb14) O--------------O Planet Oltanis O--------------O #1 - Once you've finished the third mission and gotten to Qwark, a ship will shoot a missile at and blow up a statue revealing a button in the starting area that starts an obstacle course, with a golden bolt at the end. #2 - Before the ice platform that takes you to Qwark and jump to hang on the edge of the platform while not getting on it. Shimmy around the side until you get the bolt. #3 - A few moments before that is another ice platform with a enemy in the center. Go off the right side near some boxes to find a ledge with the golden bolt on it. #4 - After you ride the Grind Rail for the first mission, you'll see a Swingshot target at the top of a building straight ahead. Go up there to find a golden bolt. (gb15) O-------------O Planet Quartu O-------------O #1 - Make sure you beat both missions on Drek's Fleet before doing this. Go on the path to where you turn into Giant Clank, but instead of going in the mechanic's house, go to the left instead and approach the lock to use the CodeBot on it. The golden bolt is in there along with a lot of crates. #2 - Go to the area at the end of the factory where you get the infobot and use the Swingshot on the target at the top to find the golden bolt. (gb16) O-----------------O Planet Kalebo III O-----------------O #1 - When you land off of the Grind Rail from the mission to find the Gadgetron HelpDesk robot, go to the platform where you get off from the rail and look down for a teleporter. Take it to find a golden bolt. #2 - While on the Grind Rail, there are three targets you can hit near the beginning of the track. Hit all three and jump to the right when you get to a rail that had a blocked part on it but now is open to get to the golden bolt. (gb17) O------------O Veldin Orbit O------------O #1 - Do the second mission over again where you swim through the electrified water on a timer, but instead of passing through the three rings at the end, turn around and swim to the right around a corner to find a golden bolt. #2 - Go past the part of the main mission here where you pass the lasers on the ship, step on the platform that flips you upside down and lets you back on the ship, and when you pass the room full of dogs, go back inside of it once you're right-side up instead of going forward. The golden bolt is at the end of the chain of rooms. (gb18) O-------------O Planet Veldin O-------------O #1 - Buy the Taunter if you don't already have it and do the regular mission until you get past the area with the first lava after you use the Hydrodisplacer. On the platform to the right of the first platform after it, look behind you to find a locked gate. Use the Taunter here to get the enemy to press the button to unlock it, with a golden bolt at the end of the tunnel. #2 - Make it before the purple gate and the two yellow Swingshot targets, and then look behind you and to the left to see a platform. Follow the chain of them for a golden bolt. #3 - Before the green swingshot target to the next area, go to the very edge on the right and long jump down to the platform. Jump on the Grind Rail and ride it back to get the last golden bolt. O===================<< III.
