Introduction: (Int1) Welcome to my Weapons/Gadgets/Items Guide for the second Ratchet & Clank game. This is my second guide of this type, and both my third overall and third for the series. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Weapons: (Wea2) In this section, you will find all the details I could get on every weapon in the game. Following is an example of the set up: Name: Cost: Location: (If there is a cost, where it is first bought, if not then it's where you can find it) Max Ammo: Ammo Cost: Ammo Restored Per Crate: (The number in brackets is how much is restored in challenge mode) Description: Available Mods: Upgrade Name: Upgrade Description: Weapons will be listed in order of the planet they are first available on. All upgraded guns gain more power. The Ratchet & Clank 1 weapons do not upgrade, and have no available mods. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Weapon Details: (Wea2.1) Name: OmniWrench 8000 Cost: N/A Location: Start with it/Upgrade 1 on Tabora/Upgrade 2 on Aranos. Max Ammo: Unlimited Ammo Cost: N/A Ammo Restored Per Crate: N/A Description: The default melee weapon, attatched to the square button at all times. You can do a three swing combo on the ground, throw it by holding crouch and pressing square, or jump into the air and do a powerful downward smash by pressing square. Upgrade Name: OmniWrench 8000 V2/OmniWrench 8000 V3 Upgrade Max Ammo: N/A Upgrade Description: There are two upgrades for the wrench in this game, and both come as part of storyline progression. In both cases, it increases the amount of damage done. Name: Lancer Cost: N/A Location: Start with it. Max Ammo: 200 (300) Ammo Cost: 1 Bolt Ammo Restored Per Crate: 25 (50) Description: A machine pistol. Hold down circle to fire a continuous stream of bullets at the enemy. It has a fairly good range, and remains useful for most of the early game. Available Mods: Shock Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Heavy Lancer Upgrade Description: The pistol turns into a rifle. It still functions identically, except for it does more damage. Name: Gravity Bomb Cost: N/A Location: Start with it. Max Ammo: 8 (8) Ammo Cost: 50 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 1 (2) Description: This gun fires small bombs that create massive explosions. It is very powerful, but is best saved for groups of small enemies. It is close ranged. Available Mods: Acid Mod. Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Mini Nuke Upgrade Description: The explosion created is now bigger and more powerful. Name: Chopper Cost: 5,000 Bolts Location: Planet Oozla Max Ammo: 35 (35) Ammo Cost: 4 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 5 (10) Description: This gun fires out star shaped discs which home in on the enemy slightly. They will rebound off walls or enemies twice before running out. The disadvantage is that Ratchet stops moving to fire. You can counter this by only firing in mid jump. Available Mods: Acid Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Multi-Star Upgrade Description: When upgraded, the stars thrown from this gun split into two upon hitting something. Name: Blitz Gun Cost: 15,000 Bolts Location: Planet Oozla Max Ammo: 40 (40) Ammo Cost: 5 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: Description: A shotgun type weapon, with a slow fire rate and short range. If you hold down circle you will fire continuously. This is a useful gun against groups of small enemies. Available Mods: Lock On Mod, Acid Mod Upgrade Name: Blitz Cannon Upgrade Description: The Blitz Cannon now incorporates lightning into the shots, but otherwise acts the same, just doing more damage. Name: Pulse Rifle Cost: 20,000 Bolts Location: Planet Endako Max Ammo: 8 (8) Ammo Cost: 50 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 1 (2) Description: Your basic sniper rifle, but used from an over the sholder perspective. Press L1 to bring up the aiming target, and press R1 to zoom in, and R2 to zoom out. This gun is very powerful, so it's useful for taking out large enemies from a distance or enemies in hard to reach areas. Available Mods: Upgrade Name: Vaporizer Upgrade Description: The already extremely powerful rifle just got even stronger. It now also creates a small explosion when it hits, damaging nearby enemies. Name: Mini-Turret Glove Cost: 25,000 Bolts Location: Planet Endako Max Ammo: 15 (20) Ammo Cost: 15 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 2 (4) Description: This glove throws out balls which expand into automated turrets when they hit the ground. They automatically target and fire upon enemies, however they are imobile when placed. This means that they are very useful in arena battles. Available Mods: Shock Mod Upgrade Name: Megaturret Glove Upgrade Description: These upgraded turrets now fire out rockets which can then turn in mid air to hit moving enemies. Because it no longer fires bullets, there is a trade off between speed and power. Name: Seeker Gun Cost: 5,000 Bolts Location: Planet Barlow Max Ammo: 25 (20) Ammo Cost: 20 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 2 (4) Description: This gun fires out a bomb that will fly steadily forward. Upon coming in close proximity to an enemy, it will target that enemy and fly straight at it very fast. This makes it useful for hitting enemies over walls or around corners. Available Mods: Lock On Mod, Shock Mod Upgrade Name: HK22 Gun Upgrade Description: Yes, this gun actually has a max ammo decrease when it upgrades. However, this is because it now fires 3 bombs at a time, at the cost of one shot. Each bomb is capable of targeting a different enemy. It should be noted that this decreases the usefulness of the Lock On Mod, as when the enemy is hit, it will only take damage for one of the bombs. Name: Tesla Claw Cost: 8,000 Bolts (Free with Ratchet & Clank save) Location: Planet Barlow (Gadgetron Store) Max Ammo: 300 Ammo Cost: 1 Bolt Ammo Restored Per Crate: 10 (20) Description: The first of the weapons from the original Ratchet & Clank game, which you can obtain for free if you have a save file from that game. The Tesla Claw emits a continuous stream of electricity, which automatically targets an enemy. Unfortunately, as with the rest of the original weapons, it is very weak. It has a medium range. Name: Bomb Glove Cost: 1,000 Bolts (Free with Ratchet & Clank save) Location: Planet Barlow (Gadgetron Store) Max Ammo: 40 Ammo Cost: 5 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 3 (6) Description: The second of the weapons from the original Ratchet & Clank game, which you can obtain for free if you have a save file from that game. However it is unfortunately very weak. It throws out bombs with the same range as the Miniturret Glove, which then explode with a fairly small range. However, it does have quite a lot of ammo. Name: Walloper Cost: 8,000 Bolts (Free with Ratchet & Clank save) Location: Planet Barlow (Gadgetron Store) Max Ammo: N/A Ammo Cost: N/A Ammo Restored Per Crate: N/A Description: The third of the weapons from the original Ratchet & Clank game, which you can obtain for free if you have a save file from that game. The Walloper is a melee weapon much like the wrench. Only that it's weaker. However it has more push back, and doesn't require any ammo. Overall it's pretty useless, seeing as the Wrench does the same job, only better. Name: Visibomb Gun Cost: 8,000 Bolts (Free with Ratchet & Clank save) Location: Planet Barlow (Gadgetron Store) Max Ammo: 20 Ammo Cost: 100 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 1 (2) Description: The fourth of the weapons from the original Ratchet & Clank game, which you can obtain for free if you have a save file from that game. This gun fires out a missile which you then take direct control of in first person. You can press circle to detonate it. Sadly it is rather weak, but is still useful for hitting enemies whilst hiding like a baby. If you are shot at whilst the missile is being controlled it will disappear. Name: Decoy Glove Cost: 5,000 Bolts (Free with a Ratchet & Clank Save) Location: Planet Barlow (Gadgetron Store) Max Ammo: 20 Ammo Cost: 10 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 2 (4) Description: The fifth and final weapon from the original Ratchet & Clank game, which you can obtain for free if you have a save file from that game. This glove throws inflatable Ratchet clones. All enemies will be completely fooled by this and attack the clone instead. It works well, despite lasting for only a few attacks. Name: RYNO II Cost: 1,000,000 Bolts Location: Planet Barlow (Gadgetron Store) Max Ammo: 100 Ammo Cost: 50 Ammo Restored Per Crate: 10 (20) Description: Simply the best weapon in the game. Holding down circle fires a stream of missiles, which automatically home in on enemies. It kills bosses in almost no time, and enemies in 1/2 missles. The only problem comes in that it only has 100 ammo, but if you don't constantly hold down circle you should be okay. Available Mods: Lock On Mod Name: Synthenoid Cost: 65,000 Bolts Location: Planet Notak Max Ammo: 12 (12) Ammo Cost: 100 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: N/A, Synthenoid ammo is not found in crates. Description: This weapon can only be activated from the menu/quick select, and does not require you to press circle. It also uses up 4 ammo the first time, then as much ammo as is needed to fill up empty spaces. Upon use, four mini robots will fly up around you. They will then proceed to shoot anything on sight. After a while, they will vanish. Available Mods: N/A Upgrade Name: Kilonoid Upgrade Description: The upgraded version of the Synthenoid stays around for much much longer. In addition to this, it can now throw grenades, much like those from the bomb glove. Name: Lava Gun Cost: 25,000 Bolts Location: Planet Tabora Max Ammo: 200 (200) Ammo Cost: 1 Bolt Ammo Restored Per Crate: 20 (40) Description: This gun fires a constant stream of lava out when circle is held down. It will also fire for a short period after circle is released. This makes it good for small swarms of enemies. Available Mods: Acid Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Meteor Gun Upgrade Description: When upgraded, this gun almost changes completely. It now fires out small meteors. Whilst this is still good, it loses its ability to clear small swarms easily, as the effect is no longer constant. With the lock on mod, the range of this gun is increased by quite a lot, as Ratchet will change the angle at which he fires. Name: Bouncer Cost: 100,000 Bolts Location: Planet Tabora Max Ammo: 25 (25) Ammo Cost: 50 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 2 (5) Description: This gun is possibly the most useful in the entire game. It can take down the B2 Brawler in a total of 3 shots. This gun fires a huge bomb, which explodes but also creates lots of smaller bombs. These in turn will explode to cause massive damage. Available Mods: Acid Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Heavy Bouncer Upgrade Description: The Heavy Bouncer functions identically to the original Bouncer, except now the balls created by the explosion are bigger, and they do more damage. Name: Minirocket Tube Cost: 50,000 Bolts Location: Planet Dobbo Max Ammo: 20 (25) Ammo Cost: 20 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 5 (10) Description: Your standard rocket launcher. Pressing circle will fire a rocket. If an enemy was highlighted with a green circle, the rocket will go slightly out of its way to hit it. It is very strong, and as such will be a weapon you use until the end of the game. Available Mods: Acid Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Megarocket Tube Upgrade Description: You can now hold down circle to charge up 4 rockets at once. However this uses up 4 ammo at a time. I find it more useful to just keep pressing circle to fire one rocket at a time. Name: Spiderbot Glove Cost: 15,000 Bolts Location: Planet Joba Max Ammo: 8 (8) Ammo Cost: 50 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 1 (2) Description: This glove throws out small remote controlled spiderbots. You move them around with the analogue stick and can blow them up with circle. They automatically blow up if they fall too far or come into contact with something for too long. This is good for killing enemies whilst you hide around the corner. The spiderbot can step on switches, and is needed to walk through small holes to open up the doors to a couple of Platinum Bolts. Available Mods: Acid Mod Upgrade Name: Tankbot Glove Upgrade Description: The Tankbot can fire two kinds of projectiles, as well as blowing up with circle. Holding down square will let off a steady stream of bullets, and holding down x will charge up a bomb which slowly curves downwards when fired. These methods of attack can help to level up it's Mega level weapon. Name: Plasma Coil Cost: 150,000 Bolts Location: Planet Joba Max Ammo: 10 (15) Ammo Cost: 50 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 2 (4) Description: This gun fires a small ball of electricity, which explodes into several bursts that target anything within range when it hits something. This is great for attacking groups of enemies. Available Mods: Acid Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Plasma Storm Upgrade Description: The ball fired by this gun will now zap enemies whilst flying, and electrify them much like the Shock Mod. The ball rebounds of surfaces, allowing it to zap more than one group of enemies at once. Name: Hoverbomb Gun Cost: 120,000 Bolts Location: Planet Todano Max Ammo: 10 (10) Ammo Cost: 50 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 2 (4) Description: This gun fires a slow moving bomb, which travels directly forward. If you press circle again, it will detonate. However if you hold circle down whilst firing it, you can move it left and right with the analogue stick. I personally found little use for this, as you cannot move Ratchet at the same time. Available Mods: Acid Mod, Lock On Mod Upgrade Name: Tetrabomb Gun Upgrade Description: This gun now fires 5 of these bombs, which spread out whilst moving forward. Other than the increased damage, it works in the same way as the non-upgraded version, and all 5 bombs are controlled at once. Name: Sheepinator Cost: N/A Location: Inside the armoury on Planet Todano. Max Ammo: N/A Ammo Cost: N/A Ammo Restored Per Crate: N/A Description: The most entertaining gun in the game. Holding down circle fires a stream of energy that can transform the enemy infront of you into a sheep. It requires no ammo, and takes under half a second to transform a small enemy. Available Mods: N/A Upgrade Name: Black Sheepinator Upgrade Description: This gun now transforms the enemies even faster, into black sheep. Enemies will now attack these sheep instead of you! And they explode once they have taken enough damage! Definately the most fun to use weapon in the game. Name: Shield Charger Cost: 100,000 Bolts Location: Planet Aranos Max Ammo: 5 (8) Ammo Cost: 100 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: N/A, Shield Charger ammo is not found in crates. Description: This weapon has to be selected from the menu or quick select exactly like the Synthenoids. When used it creates a barrier around you that will stop all incoming attacks until it becomes too damaged. The problem with this is that to upgrade it you actually need to ram into enemies with it, and it does an incredibly small amount of damage. Available Mods: N/A Upgrade Name: Tesla Barrier Upgrade Description: Now this is much better. In addition to being the shield you've come to know and love, it now emits sparks of electricity at any enemy that gets too close. This does much more damage than the Shield Charger, and is useful in any situation Name: Zodiac Cost: 1,500,000 Bolts Location: Planet Aranos Max Ammo: 4 Ammo Cost: 10,000 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 1 (2) Description: The so called 'ultimate weapon' in this game. When you use it, sparks of electricity fly from the gun, the screen turns white, and then everything dies. As powerful as it is, it really removes the fun from this game, and it also has a very small amount of ammo. It really does cost 10,000 bolts to buy one shot as well, though by the time you get this money should be no object. Name: Clank Zapper Cost: 1,000,000 Bolts Location: Planet Oozla, Challenge Mode Max Ammo: 30 (30) Ammo Cost: 100 Bolts Ammo Restored Per Crate: 4 Description: The worst weapon in the game by far. You can only buy it when you reach challenge mode, and by that time it is incredibly weak. You have to select it from the menu or quickselect like the Synthenoids or Shield Charger, and then Clank will start zapping enemies with green electricity from his antenna thing. The problem with this is that it seems like the time between zaps is erratic, and there is no way of knowing when it runs out of ammo. The good news is that it is not required for the Weapon Envy skill point. Available Mods: N/A Upgrade Name: Clank Zapper Upgrade Description: Okay this is slightly better, but it's still annoyingly weak. Now Clank fires red electricity from his eyes in addition to the green electricity. However the fire rate is still annoyingly random. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.2 Mega/Ultra Weapons: (Wea2.2) The Mega version of a weapon can be bought from a Megacorp Vendor in challenge mode after you have upgraded a weapon. The ultra version is then an upgraded version of that weapon, which is done by killing enemies as normal. The only changes at each level is the amount of damage it does and the amount of ammo it has. It should be noted that the Ratchet & Clank original weapons only have a Mega version. Name: Mega/Ultra Heavy Lancer Max Ammo: 400 (500) Cost: 150,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Mini-Nuke Max Ammo: 20 (30) Cost: 1,500,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Multi-Star Max Ammo: 50 (70) Cost: 150,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Blitz Cannon Max Ammo: 50 (60) Cost: 375,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Vaporizer Max Ammo: 12 (20) Cost: 400,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Megaturret Max Ammo: 30 (50) Cost: 550,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra HK22 Gun Max Ammo: 35 (50) Cost: 200,000 Bolts Name: Mega Tesla Claw Max Ammo: 400 Cost: 100,000 Bolts Name: Mega Bomb Glove Max Ammo: 60 Cost: 50,000 Bolts Name: Mega Walloper MaxAmmo: N/A Cost: 50,000 Bolts Name: Mega Visibomb Max Ammo: 30 Cost: 150,000 Bolts Name: Mega Decoy Max Ammo: 30 Cost: 50,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Kilonoid Max Ammo: 20 (40) Cost: 450,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Meteor Gun Max Ammo: 300 (400) Cost: 200,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Heavy Bouncer Max Ammo: 40 (60) Cost: 350,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Mega Rocket Max Ammo: 40 (60) Cost: 650,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Tankbot Glove Max Ammo: 16 (32) Cost: 375,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Plasma Storm Max Ammo: 25 (50) Cost: 750,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Tetrabomb Gun Max Ammo: 20 (25) Cost: 1,250,000 Bolts Name: Mega/Ultra Tesla Barrier Max Ammo: 12 (15) Cost: 250,000 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.3 Weapon Mods: (Wea2.3) Weapon Mods can be bought from one of Slim Cognito's vendors for Platinum Bolts. All shots will now be directed at this enemy, and Ratchet will strafe in a circle around it. The health of the enemy will also be shown around the lock on circle. You can change target by tapping on either the L2 or R2 buttons. Shock Mod- When an enemy is hit by a weapon with this mod attatched, strands of electricity will come out of it and hit nearby enemies.
