So you can see how they compare against the pros. Also I have included a list of good cheap players to buy in Master League, thanks to EMIK for his cheap players list, which can be found in the Master League guide. I must also thank Manwe for informing me that you can unlock the world all-stars on half season International league. Also fixed a couple of errors. v0.41 (16/5/02): Only a minor update. I have sorted out a problem with the B.F. Fake tricks, where I hadn't actually completed how to do the move. v0.4 (13/5/02): Finally got 'round to adding my improved Vieira stats. I have also added a comprehensive 'silky skills' section, at last, be sure to check it out. I am still working on improving a couple of players, before I post them, Yashin and Ward are a bit good at the moment. Also, I would like to make a request for any decent CAF's that you may have. I am going to be continually updating this FAQ, so it will (hopefully) improve over time. I am a HUGE fan of PES, without which, this FAQ would not be possible, big thanks to Konami for such a great game, I look forward playing and, maybe writing an FAQ for PES2! The idea for this FAQ came when I was trying to find out who the best players in the game were, I thought, why not just add up the totals of all the best players, find out who the best is, so I can add them to my ML team, so I rote down some of the best players stat points and average stats, and then thought, why not make this into an FAQ, so I did. Then I added some playing tips and stuff to make it a bit more interesting. I can't believe that there isn't that much interest in CAF's, I think the edit mode is great. Please note that this is an FAQ for the PS2 version of PES, where some things may be similar, I wouldn't know any exact details because I have not played the PSOne version, but I doubt the game is much of a resemblance. So if you are looking for a guide to PES on PSOne, then this is probably not the best one to be using, sorry. [This FAQ is best viewed with a screen resolution of 800x600 or above] ================== 2.0 - Best Players ================== This is the main focus point of this FAQ. I have carefully added up all the best players' stat points, to show who should be considered to be the best player in the game, although it still depends on your preferred playing style. Please note, that all player names in the lists are their real-life names, not the names that appear in the game. A big thanks to Nogs' player roster (Real Names) FAQ! Without which I would not have the real names. The info is split into several categories: + Name - The players' name, obvious really. + Team - The Country or club squad that the player can be found or brought from. If the player doesn't play for a national side, I will use his club side. + Position - What position the player plays in (look in section '4.3 - Position Help' for a detailed definition of each). + Foot - Which foot the player uses. B=Both, R=Right, L=Left. + Height - The height of the player in centimetres (from 155cm to 205cm). It might be of use to see if a big defender or striker is required. + Total - The total number of stat points the player has, there are 24 in all. + Average points - The total number of stat points divided by 24. + Stars - The number of special skills a player has. A, B, or C indicates the players injury proneness, A being least prone to injury, C being most prone. If you are unsure as to what any of the special skills do, then when you are creating a new player, go to 'Special abilities' and press select on the one you are not sure of. + Price - The price of the player in Master League (Price/Wages), I'll use credits as the price unit (rather than points) from now on to avoid confusion with stat points. + Value for money - The higher the value, the more points a player has per credit (Total number of points divided by price). The following are the best players in the game (according to their stats). Unsurprisingly, the best players appear to be the classics. Formation - You should pick the formation that suites your playing style best. The team starts off with a 3-5-2 formation, which in my opinion, is too weak defensively for your starting eleven. With this team early on, the last thing you want to be doing is conceding several goals per game. You should try changing it to a 4-4-2, or if you are exceptionally bad defensively, then try a 5-4-1, or a 5-3-2, depending on who you are playing against. If you have played a few matches and are confident in your ability, then you may want to try an attacking formation, I find that a 3-4-3 works best, or if you are still unsure of your defensive ability, then you could try a 4-3-3. Again, It all depends on your own style of play. My choice for the best team, would play the 4-4-2. I have listed below, the best starting eleven, even though some may have higher stats on paper, don't be fooled into thinking that these are the best. Look at their stats for their positions. I have also included which player is the most suitable replacement if one of the following players in injured. This will be the second name you see next to a starter, along with their main position, indicated by " - Burchet" for example. Remember that sometimes a straight swap may not be what is required, you may have to think about changing your formation accordingly. Where I have used the same sub twice, then he will, normally, be a suitable replacement for either position. GK - Kelsen - Inorov CB - Vorlander - Stromer CB - Daric - Stromer RB - Valery - Nachtegall LB - Eddington - Nachtegall DH - Cellini - Harty LH - Ximenes - Matt RH - Espinas - Burchet OH - Marinda - Ostwald CF - Castello - Burchet CF - Huygens - Njord With this starting eleven (you should replace any player who has a grey arrow at the start of a match) you should be winning games. Good Luck. ------------------------ 3.2 - Cashflow & Bonuses ------------------------ Keeping an eye on on your current bank balance is the key to the Master League. If you take a gander at 'Team Management' on the ML menu, you will see the number of points that you MUST have at the end of the season if you wish to avoid the dreaded 'GAME OVER'. When buying players add their cost together with their wage demands, and try to make sure that you have that amount before buying the player. For example, Zidane costs 57 credits and his upkeep is 21 credits per season, so you should try to think of him as costing 78 credits (57 + 21). If you do this with every new player that you buy, you should be able to survive. The real problem occurs when you have a team with 22 World class players, which totals to astronomical wage demands. Which in some cases may mean that you have to quite literally win evey single game in Division 1 to stand a chance of avoiding 'GAME OVER'. The cash you win is based on, you get an average amount for a draw, more for a win and, obviously, nothing for a defeat. You get Bonuses for every goal you score, and for winning the leagues, and getting top place in the top scorer tables and top assist tables. Of course you get more in division 1. The cash is awarded like this: Division 2 ---------- Win a match - 5 credits Draw a match - 3 credits Lose a match - 0 credits Goals per game - 1 credit per goal (bonus) Team Ranking Bonus - 50 credits (finish 1st) Goal Ranking Bonus - 10 credits (finish 1st) Pass Ranking Bonus - 10 credits (finish 1st) Division 1 ---------- Win a match - 10 credits Draw a match - 6 credits Lose a match - 0 credits Goals per game - 1 credit per goal (bonus) Team Ranking Bonus - 100 credits (finish 1st) Goal Ranking Bonus - 20 credits (finish 1st) Pass Ranking Bonus - 20 credits (finish 1st) Getting the Bonuses ------------------- To finish first in Division 1 you should aim for about 60 points, but this all depends on how well your oponents are playing throughot the season. One season you may win with 50 points, in another you may need 70 to ensure glory. Teams to watch for are Manchester, Munchen, and Madrid! To win Division 2 you can probably get away with 55 points, give or take 10 to claim victory. For the Goal Ranking Bonus in division 1 you will need 25 goals. In Division 2 you will probably only need around 20. But again this all depends on your rivals, whether their attackes are on form or not. To get the Pass Ranking bonus you will need one player to get about 10 assists during a season for Division 1, and around 8 for Division 2. ---------------------------- 3.3 - Master League Bargains ---------------------------- Aiming to buy all the best players is one thing, but being able to afford all of them, and their wages, is another matter. The best way to start off in Master League is to buy, at least a few, cheap players. Not just any cheap players mind you, you still need to search for quality. A lot of these players can be found by simply looking for them. But I have included all the best here for easy reference... and to save you all the hassle. These players will help you win early on in division 2, but should really be replaced with better players if you want to be winning Division 1... Unless, of course, you are up for a challenge... Hell, why not make up a Master League winning team by only buying cheap players?! Go for it! The best way to get through Master League with a good team, is to first buy good cheap players, these guys will help to get you some results, which will act as a great base for building a super team. Only when you have a few good players in all positions should you start buying a star player. You may find that you get 'Game Over' if you gamble on an expensive player. You need a strong all-round team, it's no good just buying a star striker. The chances are that he'll not get the support he needs from quality team-mates. Think before you buy! You should look at the players positions in the game, some of them are more versatile than you may have already known, i.e. did you know that Campos (Mexican GK) can also play CF? Most players that play in a SH position will often also be able to play in the SB position, and vice-versa. Same with some CF's and OH's. Have a look at the player in the game, they may just play in the position you want them to after all. ------------------------------- 3.4 - Multiplayer Master League ------------------------------- A lot of people seem to have problems with this, but it really is quite simple. All you need to do is: With Player 1's pad, on the pre-match menu, choose "Controller select" with X. As you are doing this, get your friend to repeatedly hit left and /\ together on his pad, quite quickly. Now when the "Controller Select" screen appears, player 2 should have moved to the left side of the screen. Now player 1 or two can choose to be either team. Player 2 will now have control of the menu selections, to give control back to player one, player 2 has to choose "Controller select" and then player 1 must press /\ on this screen. The above technique should also work with more than two players by repeating the exact same procedure. ================== 4.0 - Playing Tips ================== NOTE: - Wherever d-pad is referred to, I also mean left analogue stick, not just the digital pad. Also, all controls refer to the default control settings. More tips are coming soon! I thought that you would rather learn the fancy stuff first. ------------------ 4.1 - Silky Skills ------------------ The beautiful game that is PES, has cleverly managed to try and hide a few things away from those who don't venture further than the basic controls printed in the manual. Thanks to a bit of help from some peeps on message boards (cheers guys) and a little bit of exploring by myself, I think that I have finally unearthed all that PES has to offer in terms of skills. There'll be none of your FIFA style flick-overs, 360 degree spins, and Rainbow kicks (although, admittedly, they would be nice) that see you waltzing through defences with ease by the simple, single tap of one shoulder button. Oh no! Mastering PES is an art in it's own right. Tricks have to be earnt by being in the right place at the right time, and timing your button presses to perfection... a millisecond out and you may have already given possession back to the enemy. Anyway, here is a low-down on all the special moves (that I know of), what they do and most importantly how to do them: NOTE: - Where I have put 'in manual' I mean that the move is mentioned but not explained in detail in the manual. Similarly with 'in training' The move is mentioned when you are in 'Practise Mode' but no in-depth details are given. Credit should really go to Distiction for help with the Both Foot Fake stuff. And also to Filthydani, who gave me some playing tips. Cheers Dudes! Skills For The Average Player ----------------------------- The Step-Over (in manual) - The easiest trick to pull off. Simply repeatedly and quickly tap L2, three times should do it. Hold down a direction on the d-pad to 'peel off' in that direction when the trick is finished. This is a quicker version of its L1 counterpart, the player lifts one foot over the ball and knocks it forward slightly. Useful for getting out of tight situations. The Double Step-Over (in manual) - Repeatedly and quickly tap L1, again about three taps should do it. In this instance, the player lifts one foot, followed by the other, over the ball, it looks a lot flashier, and also takes slightly longer to pull of then the single step-over, so is therefore better as a show-boating move in multiplayer games, rather than anything else, as the player generally runs straight at the oncoming defender, but sometimes it will sell him. Again, hold a direction on the d-pad to move off in that direction when the move has finished. The Shot Feint (in training) - Also known as the 'Shot Cancel'. The ol' jink one way, and turn the other, leaves the defender standing, also ideal for taking the ball 'round the keeper, although some will find more adventurous ways of doing that... Quite easy to pull off, it depends on how far the ball is from the player's foot. It is achieved by pressing [] to shoot, followed by x when the power bar is up. To 'cut-inside' more effectively, [] and x should be pressed at pretty much the same time, be careful not to press x first though, your player will simply pass the ball to the opposition. The use of a d-pad direction while doing the move will result in the player moving that way, as long as the direction is pretty much at right angles to the way your player is facing. Be careful though, sometimes, even the most talented players will stumble on the ball and lose possession if you try to turn at too acute an angle. Also be sure to only use this move in the opponents half, as attempting it in your own half will result in your player punting the ball up field. Skills For The Experienced Player --------------------------------- The Dummy - As the ball comes towards your attacker, you need to let go of the d-pad and Press R1, the attacker will lift his leg and let the ball run on, and it can be picked up by one of your wingers, or whoever. This move can be very useful if you meant it too happen, but very annoying if you don't want it to happen, and you give the ball away. If a direction is pressed at the same time, then the player will not perform the dummy. The thing putting this in the experienced player bit rather than for average player, is that, average players tend to hold down R1 all the time, and will therefore let the ball go past them as punishment. Whereas experienced players will not hold down the sprint button down all the time, but instead limit it to only when it is needed. The Hop (in training) - Achieved by pressing R3 (press the right analogue stick). This will allow your player with the ball to hurdle incoming sliding challenges from ruthless opposition. This has to be timed well though, a good PES player will se the tackle coming, and can anticipate the exact moment that he must press the button. Unfortunately with this move, the ball will sometimes be tackled away from you by the opposing player, but you wont get injured! Other times, the ball will skip underneath the sliders legs as you avoid the challenge and run on to the ball. If you can hop over the goalie, then well that is just about the best move you could ever do. But very, very hard to pull off, unlike in FIFA. The Shuffle - The player just shuffles with the ball very close to his feet to one side, and looks like a monkey HAHAHA! This can be achieved with all players, and is not too hard to pull-off. But to work it effectively in a match is another matter. To do it, all you have to do is hold R2, then press and hold a direction on the d-pad at right angles to the one you are running in. For example, if you are running, with R2, from left to right, then hold up/down on the d-pad to move in the specified direction. This move is amazingly satisfying if you can take it round the goalie with this move, and as ever, it's even better against a mate! Don't be afraid to try. Skills For The Advanced Player ------------------------------ Many of you wonder... "What exactly is the 'Both Foot Fake'???" Fear not, we have all been there. The both foot fake or B.F. Fake for short is a special little knock the ball forward manoeuvre that can only be achieved by the very best players, the ones that have a B.F. Fake star in their list of special abilities. This move should only be attempted by these players, as no other players can do them. Most good strikers should have the ability. I will list all three different versions here in the order that they are easiest to do. I think this is a move that is regularly used by the CPU, although it usually gives the ball away when attempting it. B.F. Fake 1 - The easiest to pull off, but by no means easy, it requires great timing to pull off on a regular basis. start running in the direction you are facing and hold R2, now just before the ball touches the player's foot, after he has dribbled it forward, quickly move the d-pad into a diagonal position, i.e. if you are running from left to right, press either up + right or down + right on the d-pad. Then you must move the d-pad back into the direction that you are running, i.e. right. This can also sometimes be achieved by moving the d-pad to as far as the up position, and then switching back to forward, as long as it is done quickly enough. The player will knock the ball forward about 10 yards, after he has switched it to the other foot. This move is ideal for breaking down the wings. B.F. Fake 2 - Repeat the same procedure as above, but without holding down R2, simply allow your player to jog with the ball (hold no shoulder buttons!) and then after he pushes the ball forward slightly and the ball is moving back to his feet, again, just before he makes contact, press a diagonal direction on the d-pad, then move it back to the direction you are running. As before, the player will knock the ball forward about half the distance. This time though, don't use a direction at right angles to the direction in which you are running, because the player will simply change direction. B.F. Fake 3 - The hardest B.F. Fake to pull off. The procedure is the same as in the last two Fakes, but expert timing is required, and a keen eye to spot where the ball is in relation to the player, because the ball is closest to his feet with this move. This time hold down L1 to use the close control dribble. And again use a diagonal direction, followed by forward, to move the ball to that side. Use this move for getting out of tight spaces, where you are surrounded by defenders. The player will kick the ball forward only a yard or two, so can remain in possession after the move. More Useful Controls --------------------- Here are some more useful controls that are not mentioned in detail in the manual or training: Back Heel - When you are moving forward with the ball, simply move the d-pad in the opposite direction to that in which you are running, and then press x. Cut Back - Hold the opposite direction to which you are sprinting. The player will stop with the ball, then drag it back to start sprinting in the opposite direction. Great for leaving defenders standing. Knock Ball Forward - Double tap the direction that you are sprinting, R1, with the ball to push it forward a few yards, and allow a quick player to make extra use of his pace. Great to use down the wing. Winning Headers - When the ball is in the air, above and in front of your player, move him towards the ball by use of the d-pad and R2, then x to pass the header. If you are going for goal or want to make a headed clearance, then use [], but be careful to let go of R2 first, otherwise you will change your teams attacking mentality to more defensive (as mentioned below). Attack attitude - Your team/player's attack attitude can be altered during a match by holding R2 + [] for a more defensive attitude or R2 + o to switch to a more attacking attitude. You can se what level your player is at by looking at his name at the bottom of the screen, the left side is blue, and indicates defence and the right side is Red and indicates more attack. Stopping your opponents Progress - A fairly simple way of defending when under pressure, is to set one of your strategies to a 5 man defensive formation, i.e. a 5-4-1. These can be accessed and changed via the Formation menu. And then used during the match by pressing L2 and a shape, L2 + /\, L2 + o, L2 + x, or L2 and []. Mastering The 1-2 ----------------- Simply hold L1, press X in conjunction with the direction of the player who you are wanting to play the initial ball to. When or before this player has the ball, press /\ to play the ball along the floor, ahead of the forward running player, who initially passed the ball. Or When or before this player has the ball, press o to play the a chipped ball into the path of the sprinting player. Or Don't press anything and hold up the ball, use this as a decoy against the defence. This works best against human opponents. If you find that you are having difficulty with a particular move, then spend some time in 'Practise Mode'. You may be surprised, but if you keep trying, you will eventually be able to pull of these tricks. When You have learnt them well, then there is no better use then to pull of these moves in a match situation, it's even better if you can pull them off successfully against friends. Hey, you could even try some of them out in your own back garden, who knows, you could be the next Pelé... or more likely, Phil Neville. 
The spinning pass - if you have any info on this move, please e-mail me how to
do it, I can pull it off occasionally, but it seems pretty much a random
occurrence. Please everyone... I need to know how to do it!!!

4.3 - Position Help

When playing the beautiful game, it is best if you know what players playing in
certain positions do specifically. That is why I have supplied the following
info on what each type of player does. Followed by an example from real life.

GK (GK) - Goal Keeper (the guy who tries to stop goals being conceded) -
Schmeichel

CB (DF) - Centre back (Central defender - The guy who helps clear the ball) -
Hierro

SW (DF) - Sweeper (A very deep central defender - Cleans up the mistakes of the
CB's - hence the name, I guess)

LIB (DF) - Libero (CB who makes forward runs - Guy who breaks through
unexpectedly) - Beckenbaur

DH (MF) - Defensive half (Defensive Midfielder - The guy who makes the tackles
in the midfield) - Vieira

SH (MF) - Side half (Basically a Winger - The guy who gallops down the side
lines, and puts in the crosses) - Beckham

OH (MF) - Offensive half (Offensive Midfielder - The guy who helps your
attackers) - Rivaldo

WG (FW) - Winger (Essentially a cross between an SH and a CF. An SH in a
forward, more attacking role - The guy who can score, but can also cross) -
Overmars

CF (FW) - Centre forward (Striker - the guy who gets you the goals) -

5.0 - Game Secrets
==================

There are no 'cheats' in this game, but PES does offer several quality Classic
teams to unlock, along with small, pointless things that don't really do
anything.


Extra teams
-----------

All the following teams are available by winning the relevant cups stated. They
can only be used in international exhibition matches.

Classic Netherlands - Unlock the team considered by many (including myself) as
the best team in the entire game by winning the Europian cup on any difficulty
with Holland.

Classic Germany - Unlock some great German players by winning the Europian cup
with Germany.

Classic Euro - Unlock some of the best English, French and Italian players of
all time by winning the Europian Cup with England.

Classic Brazil - Unlock the team that despite having all the best players in
the world at the time, still managed to fail to win the World Cup by winning
the American Cup with Brazil.

Classic Argentina - Unlock the classic team that only has one 'stand-out'
player, Maradona (who is still a cheat by the way) by winning the American Cup
with Argentina.

Euro All-Stars - Win the International Cup with any team. They have Shevchenko,
need I say more...?

World All-Stars - Win the International League with any team on either Full or
Half season.


Bonus Players
-------------

Gain extra players for purchasing in Master League, or base copying (the game
won't let you do anything else with them, like changing their names). Do this
by winning Master League division 1. Each time you do this you open up 11
random players, simply win division 1 three times and all 33 bonus players are
yours! You can buy these in the 'Freelance' players lists.

If you want to cheat a little, simply save your game before the last game of
the season, play the match, make sure that you have enough points to win the
league. Don't save after the ceremony (unless you want to save in a different
block), then load up your game, play the final match again. Then just repeat
the process one more time. All 33 players should now be available with minimum
effort.

Editing these players could not be simpler. In 'Edit Mode', choose 'Player
Edit', then choose 'Base Copy'. Then find page 4/7 in the list of teams, and
look for two flags with F's on them. In these are the unlocked players, called
'Free Players'. Also on this page are all the classic teams if you wish to edit
these.

Cheaper Players
---------------

Is there a player that you have wanted for ages in Master League, but just
can't afford him or his wages? Just cheat a little bit, no one will know. You
want to get Pelé for a bargain 36 points? The way to do this is simple, all you
have to do is 'Base Copy' the player in  'Edit Mode'. Then when you look at
your created players in ML you can purchase him for the reduced price! It works
with all expensive players. Trying this with a cheap player may result in him
becoming more expensive. Remember though 1 star = 1 credit. So if you've given
Pelé every special ability, then he's not going to be the bargain price that
you originally had.


The Pointless Stuff
-------------------

When creating players, If you want to see them wearing long sleeves, then Hold
L1 when you select edit mode from the main menu.


The Bogus Bits
--------------

OK, lets get this sorted. There have been a lot of rumours about certain things
that can be unlocked by playing the game. I want to clear up confusion once and
for all by saying:

"There is NO unlockable Clubhouse Stadium OR Winners Cup!"

This information is correct until proven wrong. If you disagree, then please,

6.0 - CAF's
===========

Ever wanted to see yourself playing for England??? Well now you can, in digital
form at least. Thanks to the great Player Editor you can make yourself play
alongside some of the greatest players of all time, fancy playing on the same
side as Pelé, Maradona, Beckham, Bergkamp, or even Terry Butcher.

Ever noticed that your favourite player is not in the game? (why the **** is
Ian Wright not in Euro Classics?) Well why not create him, just because he's
not in the game doesn't mean you can't have any fun.

I have made several players in PES, including myself, and the great thing is
you can modify underrated players, e.g. Vieira (France/London).

The following are some of the players I have made up:

Ian Wright (Arsenal and England) - Retired but not forgotten, still regarded as
the greatest Arsenal player ever, mind you, he only left 3-4 years ago. We wish
you all the best Wrighty!

Dennis Bergkamp (Arsenal and Holland) - He is retired from international
football, shame!

Bobby Zamora (Brighton) - Great young player, top goal scorer in division 2
last season, helped lead the Seagulls to the title.

Patrick Vieira (Arsenal and France) - Improved version, he is heavily
underrated in the game.

George Best (Manchester United and Northern Ireland) - Such a waste of a great
player, still no reason to keep him out of the Euro Classics though.

Lev Yashin (Russia) - One of the greatest keepers of all time, kept out of the
Euro Classics by Gordon Banks? Surely they must be joking. I know he played for
1966 England, but Yashin was better.

Peter Ward (Brighton legend) - One of the greatest players in the English
Leagues ever, a true legend at the old Goldstone ground.

7.0 - FAQ's
===========

Here I will answer a few questions that are regularly asked in the PES
community, hopefully clear up between what is fact and what is fiction.

 Q) How do you unlock the Clubhouse stadium?
  A) You can't, the clubhouse stadium was a bonus for winning the Konami Cup on
ISS Pro Evolution 2 on the PSOne.

 Q) Is there a Winners Cup?
  A) NO! The Winners Cup does not exist, it was a bonus cup in ISS Pro
Evolution 1, but does not feature in PES for PS2. There has been a recent
belief going 'round, about a Chicken Cup!?! I kid you not! This cup DOES NOT
EXIST!

 Q) Can you use created players in Club teams, i.e. for friendly matches?
  A) NO! A feature that has unfortunately been left out. The only way to get a
created player in to a club team is to play Master League.

 Q) Why can't I get anyone else sent off?
  A) When you have already had three sendings off from one team, there is know
way to get anyone else on that team sent off or even booked! Stupid, I know.

 Q) What's the deal with the coloured arrows next to the player's name?
  A) The coloured arrows represent the player's current fitness level. Red
means Excellent, Orange means Good, Green means average, blue means Poor, Grey
means Very Poor. Affected by the player's stability. A High value means more
Red, Orange and Green arrows. These are completely random for every game.

 Q) What the hell are those coloured bars under my player's name, during a
match?
  A) They represent the player's attacking attitude. Blue means very defensive,
Green means defensive, Yellow means balanced, Orange means attacking, and Red
means very offensive. The default setting for this is 'semi-auto' meaning that
you can change it slightly during a match, but the computer will decide for you
most of the time. But you can change this in the Formation Menu. Affected by
the players aggression - Players with a higher aggression stat will be more
offensive.

 Q) What special ability does what?
  A) When creating a player look at his special abilities, then if there is one
you are not sure of, simply press SELECT to bring up information about what it
does. Some are not too accurate though. This also works for the player's
ability stats.

 Q) Can you edit the names of the bonus players?
  A) Only from the classic and all-star teams. You can't edit the names of
players unlocked by winning Master League! You can base copy them and change
their name, appearance and stats though.

 Q) Why/How the **** have you spelt European wrong?
  A) It is spelt as Europian in the game. I'm just trying to relate to it in
terms of the game. Simple as that!

 Q) How do you play multiplayer Master League
  A) See section 3.4.

 Q) Why do players on the formation screen have different colured dots
(indicating their position on the field)?
  A) The different colours represent the players' general position. Yellow is a
GK, Blue is a DF, Green is MF, and Red is a FW. More info on these positions
can be found in part 4.3.

 Q) What's the deal with the darker dots on the formation screen?
  A) The darker coloured dots indicate a player that is not in your default
starting eleven.

 Q) Why have all the players on the 'Player Acquirement' screen got different
coloured prices?
  A) A red price means the player plays in Master League Division 1; A Blue
price indicates that the player plays in Division 2; White means that the
player has no club, i.e. he is a freelance player.

 Q) What is the green number next to the players price?
  A) This is the player's wage, or number of upkeep points required to pay the
player at the end of each ML season.

 Q) AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!! I keep getting 'GAME OVER' in Master League! Why?
  A) You didn't have enough money to pay all your players' wages at the end of
the season (you have less than zero credits remaining, i.e. you are bankrupt).
You should only buy the players you need, especially towards the end of the
season. You can also get 'Game Over' in all the knockout copetitions in the
game, if you get knocked out, at any stage.
