It made you care for your character and made you want revenge on Razor. The cut-scenes are amazingly done (though they are quite scarce). As a result, most of the games story is told through text/voice messages from your fellow racers. Obviously this guide will have MASSIVE SPOILERS. I mean, what did you expect? This is a game script after all. All of the game's cut-scenes are in one section, voice messages in another, and text messages last. They are in chronological order, meaning scenes from the beginning of the game are at the top and late-game at the end. For cut-scenes there will be a dashed line separating each scene. For voice and text messages there will be a box telling who it is from and what the subject of the message was. She is also wearing tight black pants and is standing in front of two cars. JOSIE MARON: Hi! I'm Josie Maron and I play Mia in Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Make sure you do all of your racing in the game. [*] The camera is slowly zooming into her face. JOSIE MARON: On the streets, drive safely and responsibly, and wear your seatbelts. [*] The screen fades to black. ----[INTRO MOVIE-PT. II]------------------------------------------------------ [*] A quick shot is shown of two cars drifting around a street corner and flickers back to black. Another quick shot is shown of a car 'jumping' from a great hight. A third quick shot shows these cars being chased by cops. [*] The next scene shows these cars racing very close together. The BMW barely misses hitting a t ruck before swerving around a corner. The race continues as a cop joins the chase. The screen becomes split in two, showing two viewpoints of the situation. The cars continue their race into a tunnel. The cops grow in number. The BMW then swerves into a large truck. The truck falls on its side and many of the cops are disabled. The race/chase continues through a industrial area. The cars go roaring through a warehouse. One of the cars gets stopped by the cops but the BMW gets buy and does a 180. The cops stop, and the BMW revs its engines. The screen quickly changes to black. **Need for Speed: Most Wanted** ------[PRESENT DAY]----------------------------------------------------------- **Present Day...challenging Blacklist Rival #15** [*] A blue and white BMW pulls up next to a black car with fire vinyls. The viewpoint changes to inside the BMW. Someone is leaning against the black car and someone comes to your window. RANDOM JOCK: What's your car running? [*] A hot chick (Mia) comes into the screen and goes to the window of the black car and talks to the driver inside. MIA: Papers. [*] The person inside the car waves them around but Mia finally grabs them. She then walks over to your window. MIA: I'll need your pink slip. [*] You hand her your pink slip. She looks over at the guy in the other car, who revs his engines. MIA: He's dangerous. Be careful, he'll swap paint if he has to. [*] The guy in the other car leans out. RAZOR: First I'm going to take your ride, then I'm going to take your girl. Get ready for that. MIA: Stay focused. He's rolling on a lot of power so wait for him to shift first. [*] Mia smiles and walks away. The cars continue to rev their engines and then roar away, leaving a trail of skid marks. ----[HAVOC IN THE CITY]------------------------------------------------------- [*] Your perspective is from a cop camera. The BMW and black car are shown racing with a trail of cops behind them. [Police Chatter]: Attention division one, we have report of at least one code six driver followed by police. [Cop Chasing Racers]: I need all available units on this! Get 'em coming [*] The cars swerve around a corner with the police in close pursuit. The cars continue up the street, barely missing traffic. The chase continues to a busy intersection, where one of the police hit a minivan and goes spiraling out of control. The chase continues into a tunnel. A car swerves to avoid the racers and two police cars hit it. The camera begins a slow zoom into the BMW and the player takes control of the race. ----[CRUISING THE STREETS]---------------------------------------------------- [*] After being informed from Mia about your car being broken, the race slowly fades into black. **6 days ago..entering Rockport City** [*] A wide shot of Rockport City is shown, with a blue BMW speeding on the highway. The camera quickly zooms to it. It's cruising the streets, weaving in and out of traffic. A red car pulls up behind it and drives next to you. Mia looks into your window and starts to pull ahead of your car. You speed up in pursuit. She leads you into a port area and into downtown Rockport. At a busy intersection, a zebra-striped police car pulls up in front of Mia and you, however, she gets away. A man and a woman get out of the car, the camera zooming into the man. **Sergeant Cross** [*] The two of them walk up to your car, Cross pulls out his badge and shows it to you. He walks up to your window. CROSS: Oh man, did you pick the wrong street to run on! [*] He looks around the interior of your car. CROSS: Man, this is a nice car! Gauges, shifter, wheels...Is this all for show or is there something more I should know about? WOMAN: I'd like to take a little peek under the hood. CROSS: Good idea! Let me tell you what's about to happen. We're going to take your car, tear it apart, and see if its street legal. [*] Cross turns to the woman CROSS: Wonder the odds are that it ain't? Get a wrecker down here. WOMAN: Looks like your racing days are over. [*] Cross turns back to you. CROSS: I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Street racing in Rockport is finished. I've got a beautiful little surprise that's going to tear you up from the inside out. [*] Cross opens up the door, putting is hand on his gun. CROSS: Now get out of the car. [Police Chatter]: Attention patrol division, units are in a high speed pursuit of multiple vehicles aggressively avoiding custody, units in the area directed to clear up to provide cover. [*] The woman points at you and walks away. Cross slams your door shut. CROSS: Next time, you won't be so lucky. [*] Cross takes his keys out of his pockets and scratches the side of your car leaving one long mark. CROSS: Nice pin-stripe! [*] Cross's car pulls away and you race away. The screen fades to black. **4 days ago..crusing the streets..looking for a race** [*] Your BMW races around a corner and a yellow car does a 180, following you. The person in the car pulls up next to you and signals to start a race. **Ronnie McCrea** [*] Your cars stop, the screen fades to black, and the race begins. ----[AMPING IT UP]------------------------------------------------------------ [*] Ronnie, beaten, blows past you as you slow down and pull off the main road, right into a crowd of cars. Everyone gets out and walks towards your car. RAZOR: What did I tell you? RONNIE: Razor, he shadowed me! I couldn't see- RAZOR: Shut up! [*] Razor walks towards you and the camera zooms in on him. **Razor Callahan** RAZOR: Another bolt on wonderboy looking to get smoked? Why don't we save you the grief and peel those parts right now? [*] The camera quickly pans over to a car not seen before, Mia's car, the girl you were driving with before Cross showed up. MIA: Bolt on or not, that ride is hot. **Mia Townsend** [*] Mia walks over to the crowed. She walks over to your window. MIA: Faster than anything here... RAZOR: You obviously don't know your cars, sweetheart. MIA: I know your car doesn't stand a chance! RAZOR: My sixty-footer, quarter-mile, whatever you want to throw on the table smokes anything here. Including this punk gasket car. MIA: Then where's your punk money then? RAZOR: Five grand. FIVE GRAND says my boy will smoke this clown. MIA: What's your boy have to do with this? RAZOR: I won't race this nobody. And I wont' take orders from some chick that just rolled onto the scene. RONNIE: Yeah, this here is the number fifteen person on the blacklist. You got a lot of rep to earn before you can run with him. MIA: Thanks for the update. Are we doing this or what? [*] Another guy comes up to your view. GUY: I got him. [*] The camera zooms in on him **Toru Sato** [*] The crowd starts to talk amongst themselves. MIA: Why don't we make it ten grand? RAZOR: Oh yeah? You want to amp this up? Let's do it right. [*] Razor takes out his phone and dials a number. RAZOR: Yeah. Get me the police. We got a couple of guys about to street race here down at the shipyard. You better send the cops right away. Maybe an ambulance too. [*] Razor hangs up and everyone starts to drive away. RAZOR: When he's through with you, I never want to see your face again. ----[BUILDING REP]------------------------------------------------------------ **2 Days Ago...Building Reputation, Winning Races...** [*] Your car is shown, about to turn onto a street, where other racers are starting to gather. Your phone starts to ring. ???: Well, look what the Underground let lose. Let's see how well you do in the daylight. [*] The two of you pull up to two other racers and a race begins. ----[AN ALLY AND A CHALLENGE]------------------------------------------------- [*] Your BMW is shown driving up a street, when a guy you just raced against pulls up next to you. Your phone rings. ???: Good run. I like your style. Just make sure you watch your back with these guys, alright? See you around. [*] ??? pulls off into another road while Razor's car comes and cuts you off. Both of you come to a complete stop, the car's facing each other. RAZOR: What's up poser? I'm glad your putting it down out there I really am. 'Cuz I can't wait to get a crack at the ride. What? Didn't anybody tell you? You gotta put your ride on the line to race against a Blacklist racer. And that's why nobody is stupid enough to do it. I'll be waiting for you. [*] Razor's car spins around and speeds away. ----[BACK TO PRESENT DAY]----------------------------------------------------- See the script for scene named [PRESENT DAY] This scene is the exact same with just a few minor changes. ---["THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR RIDE"]--------------------------------- [*] Your ride is being towed away after breaking down during your race with Razor. After your ride is gone, Razor walks towards you with a group of people behind him. RAZOR: Thank you for the ride. I knew you weren't blacklist material. [*] Mia comes running towards you. RAZOR: Hey, where's your punk money now? MIA: What happened? RANDOM JOCK: What happened is he's all show and no go. [*] The small crowd all starts to laugh at you. RAZOR: She's all mine now. And I'm gonna ride her like you never could. RANDOM JOCK: Hard and flat out. RAZOR: Hey, Mia, winner's circle's over here. RANDOM GUY: Cops! Cops! [*] Everyone runs to their cars and gets out of the shipyard as quickly as possible. Several cop cars come speeding into the scene. Razor drives up next to you. RAZOR: Bus stop's that way champ! [*] Razor drives away just as the cops arrive. Sergeant Cross comes out of his vehicle. CROSS: See, I thought you would've won, but you're mine now. [*] His partner throws you down to the ground. PARTNER: Hey, where's your fancy ride? CROSS: Who cares? He's not going to need it where he's going. They're going to love you in the big house baby. [*] Cross's partner puts handcuffs on you. The screen cuts to black. **Some Time Later** [*] The outside of a jail is shown and Mia's car pulls up next to it. You walk out of the jail, towards the car. Mia rolls down her window. MIA: Get in. [*] Once your inside, she drives away. MIA: I heard they didn't have enough on you. Guess its hard to nail you for street racing when you don't have a ride. Razor set you up. He messed with your car. It gets worse. He's number one on the blacklist. And he used your ride to get there. [*] The names of the blacklist members with lines through scroll up as the car keeps driving. MIA: To get back in you have to become notorious. Win races and build up your bounty. I've hooked you up a place to lay low in, but first you gotta get yourself a new ride. [*] Mia gets out her phone and calls someone MIA: Hey, Ed, it's Mia. I gotta friend coming by. Do me a favor and hook him up? Thanks. I owe you one. [*] Mia's car pulls up in front of a garage and you get out. ----[SAFE HOUSE]-------------------------------------------------------------- [*] Mia opens the door of your safe house and lets you come inside. MIA: So you found it all right, what do you think? You can store your ride here, consider it your safe house. You can use it to lie low if your heat gets to high. If you wanna take out Razor and get your ride back, you've got a lot of work to do. [*] Mia shows you a blackboard with all of the blacklist racers names on it. She then plays a video of a cars being chased by cops. [MIA] You've got to work your way up the blacklist and take out everyone on the way. As far as they're concerned, you're just working to get back into the blacklist. Pick the right event, get enough bounty, and you can challenge a ranked racer. Once they're all out of the way, Razor's all yours. [*] Mia turns off the TV. MIA: Cool? I'll let you get back to business. I'll call you when the time is right. Later. ----[LUCK]-------------------------------------------------------------------- [*] Mia walks up to your car. MIA: Way to go. [*] Mia gets inside your car. MIA: You're in. [*] The device turns on to a Rockport Police Department screen. Cross's name is entered as the login and a password is entered and you are logged in. MIA: You've been buildin' a rap sheet with the cops. The more heat you bring down on yourself, the more hype and bounty comin' your way. So make sure you keep track of your rap sheet. [*] Razor walks up to your car and snatches the device from Mia. RAZOR: Well, well, well, what do we have here? MIA: Nothin' your ever going to get. RAZOR: You're so sweet... [*] Razor turns to you. RAZOR: you got lucky. Stayin' on the Blacklist is going to take a lot more then luck. And you better watch your back out there because, well, you never know what might happen. Do ya? MIA: What, you're going to work this ride too? RAZOR: Mia, I don't know what your game is, but I'm gonna find out. You can't ride this sucker up forever. And when he burns out, no more free rides I know- [*] Mia rolls up the window. MIA: Stay on top of that rap sheet. I've gotta go. I'll call later. The other Blacklist racers walk over but Mia takes off her jacket, showing a gun underneath. The Blacklist members stop and put their hands up. A police helicopter flies over. The Blacklist members flee as a group of cops come over, led by Cross. Mia turns to you and throws the keys to the BMW at you. MIA: Go! [*] You get in the car and drive away. Razor gets up and grabs Mia. RAZOR: Me and you are gonna have a real good time... [*] Mia pushes him off as other cops grab him. Cross and his assistant walk over to Mia. CROSS: Where's the other guy? MIA: He got away. CROSS: You mean to tell me, that the most wanted street racer happened to get away? What about the Blacklist? MIA: Forget the Blacklist, they're through. [*] Mia walks away. CROSS: I want every single unit after the guy. ASSISTANT: Everyone? CROSS (yelling): Everyone! vehicles during a pursuit. Your bounty only increases if you get away from the
police. You can start

Backup cars are also cool to have in case your favorite ride gets impounded. If
you don't have a car
to drive-it's game over.

You need to plan what cars you want and which cars you're gonna upgrade, or else
you'll run out of
money. Remember, if you're really tight for cash you can always sell one of your
cars.

By now I'm thinkin' you're using the Pursuit Breakers to ditch the cops. Here's
the deal on gettin'
the most outta the Pursuit Breakers.

Don't use 'em if you don't need to. You might get a few laughs by makin' the
donut fall down, but
save it for when the cops are on your tail and you need some breathing room, or
when you're tryin'
to lose the last one before backup arrives.

Learn where the police are in the world and plan your route so that you drive by
as many of 'em as
possible. WHen you get to the Pursuit Breaker make sure you got a lot of cops
close by you. Makes no
sense if they're way behind or in front of you. If you time it right you can get
'em all with one
Pursuit Breaker.

Speedtrap racing is a little different than other types of races, gettin' across
the finish line
first doesn't determine the winner.

The goal is to get the highest total speed recorded through a series of
speedtraps. You need to plan
your routes to make sure you're at maximum speed when you drive past 'em. Some
of the traps are
gonna be at the end of a corner-slow down so you don't hit the walls and then
hit the gas quickly.

Your radar detector will warn you about any upcoming speedtraps. When it goes
off, it's usually a
good time to use your nitrous for the extra boost of speed.

======================================

Pay attention to the heat of the car you're drivin', each car you own has its
own heat level. The
best way to keep the cops off your back is to make sure you don't let your heat
get too high for
the car you're drivin'. Each time your heat moves up a level, police tactics and
vehicles step-up
too.

You can cool your ride's heat level by driving a different car and by winning
races or evading
pursuits. If you wanna cool-it-down faster, change its look-different paint,
body kits, spoilers
etc. Not all changes make the same difference, but they all help.

Remember, if you're gonna lower the heat of a car then make sure you drop it
down a level for the
best results against the cops.

|Subject|Tip on roadblocks                 |

Once your heat gets high enough the police starts blocking the roads to try and
stop you. Each
roadblock will have its weak point. Some of the roadblocks won't cover the
entire road, so the best
way is to go around the cars. For the roadblocks that have the road covered,
look for the sawhorses,
they're usually a weak spot.

If you come 'round a corner and find a roadblock, don't forget to use
Speedbreaker to get a little
extra time to maneuver before hittin' the block. Aim for the cars in the back
half, they're lighter
weight and provide a better chance of escape.

At the higher heat levels watch out for the spike strips. If it looks like
there's no car blocking
part of the road take a closer look. You might be getting tricked into driving
over a spike strip
which generally ends with you getting busted. The cops call out the location of
the spike strips to
make sure that other cops don't hit 'em, so keep your eyes and ears open.

If you're running a little low on cash, you can always go back to races you
didn't complete when you
were working your way up the Blacklist. Bring up the Blacklist, select one of
the defeated rivals,
go to the Races page and finish off any races you haven't completed. You can
also re-enter races
that you've already won to earn more money.

Your other option is to sell one of your cars. It's a quick way to get some
money, but remember,
those local car dealers are only gonna give you half of the original stock price
for your car. Any
money you spent tuning it will be gone. If you decide to sell one of your cars,
go to the Safe House
car select screen, select teh car and you can sell it there.

You can't always run the same setup for every race if you're lookin' to edge
ahead of the
competition. Think about tuning the characteristics of your car to get the right
balance for a
specific race or race type.

Pay attention to your gear ratios. If you're on a tight track with lots of
corners, having more
acceleration might pay off. If you're ripping up the highways you might want to
slide the
performance over for more speed.

There are lots of options, so don't forget to give 'em a try. Making a smart
tuning choice might
make the difference between winning and coming in second. You can find the
performance tuning in
the pause menu.
