Introduction -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Welcome to the ultimate NCAA March Madness 2007 strategy guide. Whether you are new to the game or an avid veteran, this guide will teach you new techniques to better your gameplay. Not only does this guide teach you the basic strategies to use while playing online, but it gives you my personal strategy on how to maximize your gameplay both on and off the court. With the addition of XBox Live, now anyone can put their skills on the line against thousands of other competitors. After reading this guide, you should sky rocket through the leaderboard. Currently, I'm ranked #1 on the XBox 360 leaderboard. I'm always looking for a good game so please send me a message on live letting me know what you think of this strategy guide. Also, being a broke college student, I do give one on one lessons online for a small fee. Feel free to e-mail me at gromzzz@gmail.com for more details. These lessons will greatly enhance your game and are quite cheap. I charge roughly $20 per hour, so if you are interested please let me know. Thanks and I'll see all of you online. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 2. About the Author (Gromzzz) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Now that you are about to read my NCAA March Madness 2007 guide, I figure it would be beneficial to know who the author is before reading on. First and foremost, you can call me Gromzzz. My gamertage on XBox 360 is Gromzzz and I am currently in the midst of playing NCAA March Madness 2007, Gears of War, and Lost Planet. I wrote strategy guides and reviews for the last eight years. I worked for some of the major videogame websites and decided to get out of the industry a few years ago. In my first couple years of college, I lost my gaming touch. Now as a senior and knowing that I will never be able to lounge around and play games all day and night I'm back into gaming more than ever. Having experience in the gaming industry, I know that criticism is a good thing. If I receive e-mails over and over again saying my guide is wonderful, my strategy guide willnot improve. Please let me know how you feel about my guide and make sure to leave your true thoughts. Also, I am currently graduating in June. I live in the Bay Area but I go to school in Southern California. If anyone is looking for a dedicated worker, please get in touch with me. I am majoring in Business Adminstration and I would love to get back into the video game industry once I'm out of college. On a sidenote, being that strategy guides nowadays go for about $20.00 at your local videogame store, feel free to donate a few bucks if you would like. You can paypal me at gromzzz@gmail.com. Enjoy reading the guide and please e-mail me your thoughts at gromzzz@gmail.com. Thanks and enjoy! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 3. Update History -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- January 24 2007 (Version 0.1) - Fresh out of the oven and ready to go. This is the first of many updates to this strategy guide. Right now, I wanted to get a useful guide on the market so I left out a few major aspects of the guide. As of right now, there are no tips on recruiting or a walkthrough on the dynasty mode. These will come in a very short time. Currently, I believe this guide is roughly 30% done. By the time this guide is complete, I will have this game broken down in every aspect. If you have any ideas that will make this guide better, definately drop me a line at gromzzz@gmail.com. I hope you enjoy the guide! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 4. Controls -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The controls in March Madness 2007 are quite easy to get use to. Here I will describe exactly what each button does in the game with a brief tutorial of some personal tips. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Move Player -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To move your player, simply move around the Left Analog Stick. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- EA Sports Freestyle Control -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Run the floor with EA SPORTS freestyle control. While dribbling, move the Right Analog Stick in any direction to break out a Freestyle move. Making the same shape results in the same move every time. You can also create combinations of Freestlye moves, so be sure to use Campus Hoops mode to help perfect these moves. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Quick Plays -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Direct traffic on both ends of the court by calling a Quick Play. To call a Quick Play simply press the D-Pad either left, right, or down. On offense, you can run Isolation, Post Up, and Pick-and-Roll plays. On defense, choose to double team or intentionally foul. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Floor General PlayCalling -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Move your offense and defense on the fly with the Floor General Playcalling system. Before each game, customize your school's playbook with dozens of available sets. Call offensive plays that include a 1-4 high, Zone base, 4 Around 1, and more. Pressing the D-Pad up once brings up three plays, and pressing the D-Pad twice brings up three more. Level the playing field with customized defensive playbooks, whether you want to play Man-to-Man or Zone defense. Press the D-Pad Up while on defense to call a play then click the Right Analog Stick to view a graphic on where you should force the ball handler. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Turbo -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Simply hold the Right Trigger. Turbo is quite useful on both defense and offense. I recommend using turbo throughout the game. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Call Timeout -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- You can only call a timeout when you are on offense. Remeber in college basketball you will not get the ball at halfcourt until you cross halfcourt. Thus, you'll inbound the ball at your end of the court when you aren't attacking the basket. To call a timeout, simply press Back. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Intentional Foul -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To intentional foul simply press Back on your controller. This is great to do when you are losing at the end of the game and you want to save clock. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Pause Game -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To pause the game, press Start. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Shooting -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To shoot, simply press B on the controller. Make sure to time your release perfectly to give you the best chance of making the shot. When your player is at the height of his jump, release B. To do a pump fake, simply tap B. To do a fade away jump shot, hit the Left Analog Stick away from the basket and press B. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Passing -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To pass the ball, press A. By tapping A, you will throw a hard pass. By holding A, you will throw a lob pass. Also make sure to be pointing with your left analog stick in the direction of where you want to throw the pass. If you want to make a direct pass to a certain player, simply hold down the RB trigger and press the corresponding button that appears (X, A, B, Y). The direct pass is great for inbounding the ball when there is full court pressure. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Dunk/Lay-Up -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To dunk or do a lay-up, press X. Double tap X to adjust your shot in mid air. Todo a Mid-air rebound, press Y. To do a tip in slam, press X when close to the basket. To do a tip-in, press B. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Pro-Hop/Power Dribble -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To do a Pro-Hop simply tap Y. To do a power dribble, hold Y when your player is standing still. While in the low post, you can slam dunk by pressing L toward the basket and X when close to the basket. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Back Down Defender/Protect Ball -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To back down the defender or to protect the ball, hold down LT. To do a spin move from the back down, pull and hold LT + the Left Analog Stick in the direction you would like to spin. Release LT to initiate the spin move. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Off Ball Switch -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To run an off ball switch, hold A. To call for a shot, press B. To call for a pass, press A. To call for a dunk or a lay-up, press X. These buttons must be pressed while holding A. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Alley-oop Pass -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To do an alley-oop press RB. You must tap RB when a player is near the basket. This is best to use on fast breaks when a player is running down the court with no one guarding him. This will usually result in an easy scoring basket when used properly. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Show Play Overlay -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Press down on the Right Analog Stick. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Switch Player (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To switch a player press A and use the left analog stick to direct who you want to switch to. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Steal/Dive (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To steal or dive for the ball, press X. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Hard Foul (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To commit a hard foul press B. The refs will usually blow the whistle if you press B. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Block/Rebound (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To block or rebound a shot, press Y. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Lockdown Stick (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Dictate the flow of the game and take total controle of defense with the EA SPORTS Lockdown Stick. Playing an up-tempo style of basketball, smother opponents with an aggressive style of defense and create turnovers that lead to easy baskets. When playing in front of a ball-handler trigger the EA SPORTS Lockdown Stick by moving the right analog stick down. While doing this, move the Left Analog Trigger to stay in front of your man. Once your opponent is trapped, you can force him into a turnover situation or put him in a position for an easy double-team. In addition, pull LT to draw a charger, or pull RT for a steal attempt when using the Lockdown Stick. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Take a Charge (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To take a charge, hold down LT. Though this is very hard to do in this game, I try to take one or two charges in a game. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Direct Player Switch (Defense) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To do a direct player switch, hold RB + X, A, B, or Y. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Free Throw Shaking (Multiplayer Only) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To shake your opponent controller both on and offline, rapidly press X and B while your opponent is shooting free throws. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 5. Team Intensity Breakdown -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Now you can own the floor and control everything from the excitement in the arena to the confidence of your opponents like never before with Intensity Control. Every player on the court has a Player Composure rating that affects how well he plays. Star freshman and experienced upperclassen are more familiar with pressure-packed situations and thus have higher Player Composure rating. Meanwhile, the average incoming freshen raw to the college game, as well as other inexperienced players, have a lower rating. Player Composure ratings fluctuate throughout every game based on how each player performs. Players with low composure are more susceptible to blown lay-ins and unforced turnovers while those with high composure have the ability to step up and drain the clutch three-pointer and make the big play. At the same time, a Team Intensity meter tracks your team's success while the game is being played. Making key three-pointers, forcing turnovers, and going on long scoring runs are just some of the factors that add to your Team Intesity. At any time throughout the game, you have the ability to directly affect the game in one of the following four ways - interacting with teammates, interacting with the crowd, pumping yourself up, and intimidating your opponent - by pressing RB and moving the Right Analog Stick (Left, Right, Down, or Up). Each of these interactive measures can impact the game differently, so carefully consider the current game situation before making a choice. For instance, if your team is playing at home and goes on a 6- 0 scoring run that's capped by a thunderous fastbreak dunk, take the opportunity to pump up the crowd and use the homecourt advantage. On the other hand, if you are playing on the road in a game that is tight, ift might not be wise to provoke the crowd by celebrating the long three you just drained. Whne your Team intensit meter is completely ull, you can trigger an impact movement by pressing LB when prompted during certain post-whistle situations. Impact Movements can change the entire coruse of the game, and give you the opportunity to interact wit hthe environment in unique ways. During an Impact Movement, move your player towards a teammate, your bench, or opposing player, a cheerleader, the mascot, the crowd, or the band and press A to watch the action unfold. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Intensity Control Menu -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- LB (During Gameplay) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Interact With Crowd -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Right Analog Right (With The Intensity Control Menu Open) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Pump Up Yourself -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Right Analog Left (With The Intensity Control Menu Open) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Pump Up Your Teammates -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Right Analog Down (With The Intensity Control Menu Open) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Intimidate Opponent -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Right Analog Up (With The Intensity Control Menu Open) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Trigger an Impact Movement -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Press LB during a stoppage in play when your team intensity is at 100%. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Move Player -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Left Analog Stick -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Interact -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Press A when in proximity to other players, cheerleaders, mascots, the crowd, or the band. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 6. My Personal Strategy (Online) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Being ranked #1 in the game, I must be doing something right. Here is my personal strategy on offense, defense, and on making free throws. Read this many times and get a good feel for it. Also, remember I do give lessons online for a very small price. I guarantee that a hour of my lessons will get you to the Top 50 in the leaderboard instantly. If you are interested, please e-mail me at gromzzz@gmail.com. If you have any additional questions, feel free to e- mail me at gromzzz@gmail.com -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Offensive Strategy -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= I believe a good defense wins games. That said, you should still be able to score at will when you need to. First off, make sure to inbound the ball properly everytime. A lot of people get steals off inbound passes. To insure that they won't steal the ball walk your player to as close to the baseline as possible where he will be standing right in front of the inbounder. Pass the ball and hold the left trigger to protect the ball. Walk up the court protecting the ball and making smart passes. The only offense play on run online is the pick and roll. It's easiest to score in the paint so penetrate the paint as much as possible. It's smart to get your other team in foul trouble due to the fact that the subs in this game are no way near as good as the starters. I personally play with Tennesse and use both of my small guards to penetrate the basket. My SF can also dribble quite well and score. Make direct passes to the hoop when your opponent tries to double team use. Be able to use the pro hop when you are on a fast break. The biggest problem online is people stealing the ball. Make sure to protect the ball by protecting it with the Left trigger. Other than that, there is nothing else I can really say. Take smart shots and run the pick and roll like Karl and John use to do. The best way for me to help you out is by taking a 30 minute lesson with me. Lessons for a hour are $20 dollars and lessons for a half a hour are $15. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Defensive Strategy -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Defense is where its at. First off, always pressure the ball handler using the lockdown stick. Once you master the lockdown stick, you will be quite good at stealing the ball from people who don't protect it well. To use the lockdown stick, simply hold down the right analog. When a player is coming out of his fancy move, press RT to attempt a steal. When the ball is poked lose and it looks like both players have a chance to get it, rapidly tap X to steal. I always use Tennessee online and I find it very useful to use the default defensive scheme. I press the inbounder with one of my guards and I double team manually all the time. I never press the double team button due to the fact that it will create open lanes in the basket. I attempt to shot block as much as possible, and I never hit the charge button due to the fact that this game doesn't call charges. I also press up on the analog stick to wave my hands in the air like a monkey. This helps distract players for making passes and occasionally helps steal the ball. My main advice when it comes to defense is to block the passing lanes and pressure the ball handler as much as possible. Always control one of your guards and let your opponent shoot three pointers. It is a lot easier to score in the paint than to shoot threes, so even if your opponent is great, he will only make 40 percent of his three pointers. Thus, by you blocking the paint, you'll play great defense and cause a ton of turnovers. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Free Throws -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Free Throws online are very easy. Simply pull back on the right analog and press up when the ball is anywhere near your face. It seems like the later you are, the better. Remember the down and up motion on the right analog stick results in a smooth, clean shot if timed properly. Moving and holding the right analog stick down too long results in the loss of strength where the shot will miss short. Moving and holding the right analog stick up too long will result in an increase of power where the shot will miss long. You should easily get the hang of free throws down within three games of playing online. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 7. 8. Playbook Descriptions
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Here is a list and brief desciption of all the playbooks in the game.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Offense Playbook
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Here are all the offensive plays that you can run in the game. Each play has
advantages and disadvantages so choose wisely when customizing your playbook.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Double High
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Create an advantage using screens set by either of your big guys out on top.
Great offense for teams with a scoring guard.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Fist
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
High ball screen set for the PG at the top of the circle which should get him
into the paint to make a play.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Zone Base
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Work the ball around the perimeter, try to get into gaps and look to use your
big man who is flashing to the high post.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
3 Point
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Good 3 PT offense. Two looks at a 3 PT shot as players come off a single double
screen on both sides of the floor.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
1-4 High
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Good screening offense to get a 3 PT shot or pick and roll situation on the
wing.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Zone Off
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Basic zone offense. Weak side big man flashes to the high post looking for his
partner or a ball reversal.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
3-2 Motion
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Tough offense to guard as it has a good back screen which leads to a cut and
cross screen for a post up situation.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Motion 2
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Good motion offense with multiple screens and cuts.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Baseline
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This offense allows for your best 3 PT shooter to come off a double screen
along the baseline for an open look.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
High Post
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Tough offense to defensd as perimeter players come off back screens set by a
big man in the high post.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
1-3-1 Off
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Highpost offense. Great offense to run with a good passing big man.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
1-4 Low
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Allow your PG to beat his man off the dribble and create something for his
teammates.

9. Dynasty Walkthrough
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This part of the strategy guide is dedicated to helping you succeed in your own
Dynasty. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to e-mail me at
gromzzz@gmail.com

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Introduction
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Dynasty mode operates on a year-round calendar so be prepared to handle the
duties on the court, as well as off it for multiple seasons. After choosing a
school and selecting your settings, Season One begins. Before you start making
key decisions be sure to check your PDA for messages from the Athletic
Director, Coaching Staff, and more that can help determine the success of your
Dynasty. Use Dynasty Points during the season to improve player and team
abilities. Dynasty Points are awarded for accomplishing feats in the Task List.

Training Camp
Before the season begins, put the team in your trainer's hands to improve
player and team abilities during training camp. Your trainer focuses on certain
aspects including offense, defense, shooting, and conditioning. Each has its
reward and downfall. Be sure to balance the training in order to cover every
area of need.

Dynasty Central/Calendar
Manage all aspects of your school in Dynasty Central, the biggest being the
team schedule. Review your yearly calandar to play or simulate the season
schedule game-by-game. It's here where the gamesare won or lost. If you choose
to simulate a game on the schedule, you have the option to intervene anytime
during the simulation period. Once the game picks up, you are thrown into the
middle of the action with time already off the clock. See if you can help your
team hold or make a comeback and grasp a victory.

Coach Options
Off the court, coach options allow you to recruit local and national players
during the season. With the help of stat tracking, scout hot prospects and
invite them to a game before extending scholarship offers. Once your team is
et, gain the upper hand by using the assistants to gatyher information on
upcoming games, teams, and players from across the nation. Coaches can create a
gameplan before the big game by analyzing opponent before tip-off, or simply
altering the overall team strategy and playbook. You can also view Preogram
Standards, your Report Card, conduct a Training Session, and view Dynasty
Points anytime during the year.

Player Violations
Players can get themselves into trouble, so it's up to you to make sure the
team rules are enforced. Take action when GPAs drop or when rules are broken -
or your school may suffer the consequences. You need to decide when to suspend
players for a single game or for the entire season; if you don't take action or
your Academic Progress Rate is too low, the NCAA may limit your school's
scholarships, TV appearances, or its participation in either of the postseason
tournaments.

Off-Season
After the NCAA tournament, it's time to evaluate your roster for the next
season. To remain a successful program over the years, be sure to track which
positions you'll need to concentrate your recruiting efforts on. If your senior
point guard is leaving due to graduation, for example, you better replace him
with a highly touted freshman or a solid junior college transfer who can fill
his shoes for the following season. Pay attention to your scouting reports and
study up on the incoming clas before you make any offers. Also, take a look at
what's been happening during the off-season; find out if players have been
working on their game and perfecting their skills, or whether they've grown a
couple inces. Remember, your recruitment decision can make or break your
school's chances of making it to the Big Dance.

10. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Here are a few questions that people have asked me numerous times online.

Question: Are there any division 2 schools in this game?
Answer: No, there are no division 2 schools in the game.

Question: When I play online I get disconnected from the EA Server
occasionaly. What is the problem with my connection?

Answer: There is no problem with your internet connection. The EA Servers
are known to be a bit glitchy and on NCAA March Madness they don't
disappoint in making all of us a bit angry with disconnects.
Personally, I've been disconnected over twenty times already which
has completely destroyed my win/loss record.

Question: How in the world are you ranked #1? How do you gain so many points?
Is there any tips that I can receive in how to gain any extra
           points?

Answer: I play this game a ton. To tell you the truth, you receive more
points when playing people that are ranked higher than you. That
said, being ranked #1 and playing a person who is ranked 1000 does
not give me a lot of points. Thus, I play most of the the other top
guys when I have the opportunity.

Question: I'm having trouble mastering the lockdown stick. Are there any
pointers that you can give me?

Answer: If you read the whole guide, you would have learned a lot about
using the lockdown stick in my defensive personal strategy. Please
consult that part of the strategy guide.

Question: I'm trying to add you to my friends list and it is not letting me.
           What is the problem?

Answer: I already have the maximum amount of friends that are allowed on
XBox Live. That being said, send me a message and I will try to
delete a friend that is no longer online.

Question: What is the best way to contact you?

Answer: Contacting me on XBox Live through Gromzzz is by far the quickest.
E-mailing me at gromzzz@gmail.com will get you a response within 24
           hours.

Question: My disk says that it's unreadable. What should I do?

Answer: A lot of people are having this problem. Luckily, knock on wood, I
have not gotten this error at all. Make sure that your XBox 360 is
sitting horizontal and not standing vertical. Other than that, I
recommend returning your disc and getting a new copy.

Question: Why do you have so many losses online? If you were so good, you
           wouldn't have 20+ losses.

Answer: The EA Servers are horrible and many of the top guys get
disconnected atleast once a day. It seems like I get it the worse,
being disconnected 22 times already. Hopefully, this will be fixed
           as soon as possible.

Question: What are those yellow boxes that come down at half court
           occasionally when playing?

Answer: The yellow boxes are half court traps and other defensive plays that
you can run while your opponent is inbounding the ball.

Question: I always seem to get the ball stripped. Is there anything I can do
           to fix this problem?

Answer: Yes, you can press LT and this will protect the ball. It doesn't
guarantee that you will not get the ball stripped, but it certainly
           helps.

Question: Thanks so much for the guide. How can I donate to you?

Answer: You can donate to my paypal account at gromzzz@gmail.com. Thank you
           for even considering this.

Question: I'm looking to contact you for a job opportunity. Would you be
           interested?

Answer: Like I said before, I'm currently a senior in college and I'm
looking for a job that I can have lined up when I graduate in June.
I'll have a Business Adminstration major and I live in Fremont,
California which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

11. Achievement Walkthrough (How To Get 1000/1000)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
There are 25 achievements in NCAA March Madness 2007. Here I will not only list
the achievments but give my tips to get 1000/1000 in the quickest way possible.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
15 Three Pointers (65 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team scored 15+ three
pointers. This achievement can be done very easy if you set your game sliders
to junior varsity. Put your steals at the highest possible and your three
pointers also at the high possible. That said, play UC Riverside with Tennessee
with 2 minute halves. Steal the ball over and over and shoot your three
pointers with your shooting guard. That said, you will be able to score 45
points (15 three pointers) within the four minutes.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
100 Points (100 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team scored 100+ points.
Simply set the game to Junior Varsity and set all your sliders (short range
shot, mid range shot, long range shot, dunk/layup ability) to the highest. Set
your computer's defaults to the lowest. Set the game to six minute halves and
use any good shooting guard to get this achievement. It's also smart to set
your free throws at the highest incase you get fouled and to turn off fatigue
and injuries to make sure your player does not get tired or hurt.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
22 Assists (65 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Partipate in an entire game where a player on your team got 22+ Assists. This
achievement is very easy. Simply pass the ball into the paint with your same
player over and over. Not hard to do at all. Set the half time at four minutes.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
30 Free Throws (60 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your teamm ade 30+ free throws.
To do this, simply turn off fatigue and raise the sliders to everything being a
foul. Take your power forward or center to the paint multiple times in a row.
Set your free throw sliders at the easiest.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Upload Roster (30 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Upload a roster to the EA Sports Locker. Simply change one attribute by going
to edit rosters and save it. Then go online and go to your EA Sports Locker.
You can upload your new roster you saved and get the achievement. This is by
far the easiest achievement to get in the game.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Unranked Custom Match (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Finish an online unranked match against another player. No one likes to play
unranked, so set your unranked match to 2 minute halves. Get a friend or
someone without this achievement at the lobby and explain what you are trying
to do. Most people will help you get this due to the fact that it is only 2
minute halves.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
All-American Hero (30 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Partipate in an entire game where your team won without attempting a 3 pt shot,
on All- American. Simply play with one of the better teams in the game and play
against UC Riverside. Don't take a three pointer. Simple as that.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Win on Buzzer Beater (50 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in a game where your team won a "buzzer beater". This must be done
at the buzzer so play two minute halves on JV with the sliders in your favor.
Run the clock down to five seconds, do a pick and roll and drive to the lane.
Make sure you do it with no more than five seconds on the clock or you will
leave a few seconds on the clock.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
No Turnovers (40 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where your team committed no turnovers. Simply
put the halves to two minutes on JV and just run the clock out. Once the clock
is at three seconds, fire up a shot. Lose the game but don't turn the ball
over.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
13 Steals (60 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team got 13+ steals. To do
this, simply turn fouls down to the lowest, steals to the highest, and make
sure there is no foul limit. Take your point guard and consistently do the
lockdown stick against the JV opponent. This is quite easy and should be done
in no more than four minutes.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Pump Up Crowd (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Pump up the crowd. Simply press the LB and pump up the crowd with the right
analog stick. You must have some team momentum.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Pump Up Team (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Pump up a teammate. Simpy press the LB and pump up your teammate with the right
analog stick. You must have some team momentum.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
No Three Pointers For Opponent (35 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where your opponent made no three point shots.
Play on 2 minute halves, JV setting, with the computer sliders on impossible to
make a three point shot. Simple as that.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
20 Points From Free Throws (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where your team scored 20+ pts from the free
throw line. Attack the basket with fouls on high and you will easily get this
achievement.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ranked Challenge (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Challenge another player to an online ranked match and finish the game. This is
very simply, just play a game.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ranked Custom Match (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Finsih and online ranked match against another player. Just go into the lobby
and accept a challenge and play the entire game.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Triple Double (35 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team got a triple double.
The easiest is points, steals, and rebounds. Set the neccessary sliders to get
steals and you should get this quite easily.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Double Double (20 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team got a double double.
The easiest is points and rebounds. This achievement should come naturally.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Floor General Play (15 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Call a floor general play. Simply press up or down on the d-pad when you're on
offense to get this achievement.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
14 Blocks (60 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team get s 14+ blocks.
This achievement is quite hard to get. Use the center on Georgetown to get this
achievement. Set fouls to very low, and make sure you can't foul out. Play a
small team like UC Davis who likes to run and gun.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
51 Rebounds (70 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team gets 51+ rebounds.
Use Ohio State and set shooting to the hardest possible for both you and the
computer. Set the time limit to around 20 minutes per half and get the
achievement by firing up a ton of shots you know will not go in. Make sure
fatigue is off.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
100% Free Throws (40 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where your team makes 100% free throws (min 10
shots) on All American. The simple way to do this is play a friend on all
American and let him foul you ten times with your best free throw shooter.
Simply make ten and let the time run off the clock.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
100% Shooter (25 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where a player on your team shoots 100% from the
field (min 10 shots). Simply turn your sliders up to making it very easy to
shoot mid range, short, and long jumpers. Take ten shots on JV against UC
Riverside with two minute halves. Very easy to get.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
All-American Victory (30 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Participate in an entire game where your team wins vs. CPU, with default
settings and All-American. Make sure to play with the default settings or you
won't get this achievement. Play against UC Riverside and you should win.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Quadruple Double (50 Points)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Partipate in an entire game where a player on your team gets a quadruple
double. The easiest to do is points, steals, rebounds, and blocks. Use a big
man like the center on Ohio State and turn the shooting sliders for both teams
to the lowest. Make sure steals and blocks are very easy set. Turn fatigue off
and turn the amount of fouls before getting thrown out of the game to infinity.
Play a 10 minute half game and you should be able to get this achievement.

12. Credits
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I would like to thank EA Sports for making a great game. Without them, we would
never have the opportunity to play a game that at the tempo. That being said, I
have consulted the instruction booklet in the game and I have quoted the book
in parts of the guide.

Also, I would like to thank gamefaqs.com for hosting my new guides. Without
gamefaqs.com, I would have never been discovered.

And last but not least, I would like to thank you for taking some time and
reading this guide. Please e-mail me at gromzzz@gmail.com with your input on
