August 20, 2004 After a four month delay I have finally gotten the first version of this guide out. B. Translation Notes Sakura uses the phrase “Shannaro” a couple of times throughout the game. It is an expression she uses to convey aggression. I cannot think of any English translation. In accordance to Gamefaqs foul language rules I did not translate ‘Kuso”, its meaning is a vulgar synonym for feces. I decided to keep the san, kun and chan name suffixs. San is casual and for people you don't know and is also way to refer to people older than you. Kun is more for boys and for people who are friends. Chan is used to convey intamacy or sometimes used with nicknames. The term "sensei" can mean teacher or master. A Gennin is a lower lever ninja. A Jounin is an upper level ninja Konoha is the name of a village. You will also see Konohagakure. The literal translation is "Hidden leaf." Kirigakure is another village. The literal translation is "Hidden Mist." Sunagakure is another village. The literal translation is "Hidden Sand." Otogakure is another village. The literal translation is "Hidden Sound." Hokage literally means "Fire Shadow". It is the title given to the head ninja of Konoha. A Kunoichi is a female ninja. Taijutsu is physical techniques or hand-to-hand combat.
