Revision History --------------------------------------------------------------------- 14/11/02 - Version 0.6 - Most is finished some parts need more work 23/02/03 - Version 0.7 - Mainly an eye-candy update, I'll add more info in the next few days. 16/07/03 - Version 0.8 - I know I said I would update in a few days but I seriously thought that my last version of the guide wasn't getting posted, now that I know that it has I've rushed to get this version out. 12/01/05 - Version 0.9 - Two years without an update, quite a period. If I'm honest, I forgot all about this but I've remembered now, so all is well again. I'm determined to finish this guide now. Decided that a walkthrough would be useless and also that a character VS character section would also be useless due to the lack of combat depth in the game. Not exactly sure what would be useful. 16/02/08 - Final - Three years without an update. Didn't really matter all that much as this game has basically been relegated to obscurity. Nevertheless, I randomly felt like finishing it, so here I am. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. If you're reading this I would have to assume you have the game. Kudos, it's fairly decent. Not the best out there, but far from the worst. Average, if you will. But still, let's see what we can do to help you out with whatever it is you're stuck on, shall we? :) --------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Characters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Corvalis - The King of Speed and the Duke of Destruction ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Col. Corvalis Bane Height: 5' 10" Weight: 180 lbs. Born: April 5, 1998 Birthplace: Portland, Oregon Rival: Incubus Avg. Kills per Game: 4.3 Vehicle: Burn Cycle Experience: Former Southwest Division Champion Vehicle details: The Burn Cycle is not heavily armoured, but is quick and maneuverable. It can penetrate areas inaccessible to other vehicles. SPECIALS; Rear: Plasma Mine - Square Realeses a small mine which can do a small amount of damage if an enemy drives over it. Long-Range: Quantum Torpedo - O, X, X A ball of blue energy is fired at an opponent the ball of energy will home in to some extent. Close-Range: Energy Lance - O, O, O An enery sword is pulled out and when used it fires directly in front of Corvalis, It can kill in 1 hit. Hover Mode - X, X, O, O, Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Desciption: Corvalis rides a flashy blue and yellow motorbike- type vehicle. He is fast and agile but is not as strong as other characters. If you're playing as Corvalis, you'll want to make good use of your agility, those bikes sure can turn. Also if you're accelerating with turbo then the only people keeping up with you will be Incubus and Chromium. This guy is far more user friendly than Incubus, his long special is slightly less likely to hit, but will usually do more damage if it succeeds. Good balance for a beginner. Also his close special hits whatever's directly in front of him, again, favours the beginner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Incubus - Insane and intent on revenge, he's the worst kind of enemy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Sgt. Connor Forsythe Height: 6' 0" Weight: 190 lbs. Born: December 10, 1999 Rival: Corvalis Avg. Kills per Game: 4.7 Vehicle: Modified Burn Cycle Experience: Northern Division Champion Vehicle Details: The Burn Cycle is not heavily armoured, but is quick and manuvrable. With careful handling, it can penetrate areas inaccessible to other vehicles. Visually it is practically identical to his rival's Burn Cycle. SPECIALS; Rear: Anti-Matter Mines - Square Drops 3 mines out of the Burn Cycle if an enemy is caught by all 3 they seem to get boosted forward for some reason. Long-Range: Tachyon Torpedo - X, O Man, this move is brilliant 3 red energy balls are fired and each homes in on an enemy at best this will take off 1/3 of an enemies health. Close-Range: Brimstone Blade - X, X, X Wow what a move will instantly kill if it all connects the attack will hit all enemies near you no matter where they are - a lifesaver. Hover Mode - X, X, O, O, Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: Incubus is my favorite character for a number of reasons. He is fast, agile, and unlike Corvalis, Incubus can actually slug it out with almost anyone and win. Also, how can you not like someone on a black and red bike who slashes people with a massive crimson sword? Ok, if you're playing as Incubus, it's basically the same deal as Corvalis. Except slightly more difficult ands slightly higher optimal damage. For a start, his long special consists of three balls, one of which almost always misses unless you're at a REALLY long distance. Brimstone Blade basically will NOT work unless you are within a few feet of your target, but is instant launch and damage, so unlike a few others, you can use it when dogfighting a character, the attack has a very slight biase to Incubus' front right, so you want to be slightly to the left of your opponent when you launch the move to get the most out of it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grok - The Colossus of Concrete. The Titan of Tremblors. The Gargantua of Granite. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Terrence Solum Height: 8' 3" Weight: 1215 lbs. Born: Unknown Birthplace: Unknown Vehicle: Steamroller Rival: Rancor Avg. Kills per Game: 5.2 Experience: Rookie - New Southwest Division Champion Vehicle Details: A powerful construction rig with a pile driver/rock breaker incorporated into the hood. Moderately armored, with average handling. SPECIALS; Rear: Magma Mine - Square Leaves a rock behind you wich soon explodes doing decent damage. Long-range: Meteor Strike - Triangle, Square Sends out multiple Meteors which home in and do decent damage to the enemy. Close-Range: Seismic Smash - O, X, Square Grok Punches the ground causing damage to all enemies surrounding him and forcing them back. It will save your life if you use Grok Hover Mode - X, Triangle, X, Square, O, Square Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: Grok's the only person who's forced me to delete his previous entry from past updates. The thing about Grok is that he is really slow. But that is remedied with Hover mode. Ergo, if you forfeit the ability to use your specials (Homing Missiles and Gauss Cannon are more effective anyway) you can really begin to exploit this guy's remarkable defense. If, however, you neglect to use Hover mode, you'll be relying on Seismic Smash for area clearence. You won't be able to keep much of a distance versus human players, and you won't survive close up. So if you're against a player, you'll NEED to revert to hover mode. Seriously. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rancor - Waiting to take a bite out of anything he can sink his teeth into ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Matthew Stellio Height: 5' 11" Weight: 225 lbs. Born: October 23, 2012 Birthplace: Los Alamos, New Mexico Vehicle: Scorpion Rig Rival: Grok Avg. Kills per Game: 3.2 Experience: Two-time Southern Division Champion Vehicle Details: Rancor's combat rig is a medium-armored muscel car with a devastating Close-quarters primary weapon. What it lacks in nimble handling it makes up for in acceleration. SPECIALS; Rear: Acid Rain - Square Squirts acid out of the back of the rig which lingers and does damage to anyone who drives through it. Long-range: Taser Tail - O, O Rancor rases his tail and points it straight in front of him then he fires a green ball of acid which homes in on an enemy. Close-Range: Venom Blast - X, Triangle, Triangle Wow! A very nice special which can't kill in 1 hit but can easily reduce all near enemies to critical. Hover Mode - O, O, Square, Square, Square Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: Rancor is like Grok, only better in every way. Let's face it, giant lizards are just plain cool no matter what. His specials are all very useful, escpecially Venom Blast. Arguably one of the most balanced characters in the game. Tough yet agile. Strong yet... Defensive? Not really but he takes blows better than, say, Incubus. You'll be reliant on Venom Blast, and quite rightfully so, it's very good at reducing enemies health, and can be used in tandem with the Flak Cannon to score multiple kills, racking up your score. Oddly enough I have a great deal of trouble beating players using Chromium using this guy. She just runs rings round him. You could pull a Grok and rely on hover mode, but he doesn't have Grok's defense and can't really win using regular weapons... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Orion - The guy you love to hate. Especially when he's hurting you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Maj. Heath Austin Height: 6' 3" Weight: 242 lbs. Born: June 2, 1990 Birthplace: Vancouver, Canada Vehicle: Combat Hovercraft Rival: Chromium Avg. Kills per Game: 4.3 Expeience: Southwest Division Champion Vehicle Details: He drives an armored, custom-built hovercraft. It has been filled with a variety of special weapons. SPECIALS; Rear: Afterburner - Square Amazingly this simple attack can almost kill enemies in 1 hit! Long-range: Mega Missile - Triangle, X Orion launches a missile that does medium damage it homes in to some extent. Close-Range: Concussion Cannon - O, Square, X Orion Launches a volley of missiles which all do some damage Hover Mode - X, X, O, O, Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. Short Description: I wonder what they were smoking when they made Orion, whatever it was I want some. He drives a hovercraft... A hovercraft with hover mode. Seriously, if Orion was in constant hover mode then perhaps he would be worth using. His only good point is Afterburner, but even that has its limits... Seriously, don't use him. Medicore agility, medicore defense, TERRIBLE offense. Useless character. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chromium - Can't take your eyes off those tasers? Nobody can! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Eva Lutska Height: 5' 10" Weight: 135 lbs. Born: October 20, 2001 Birthplace: Krakow, Poland Vehicle: Mirrored Sports Car Rival: Orion Avg. Kills per Game: 2.8 Experience: Northwest Division Champion Vehicle details: Chromiums jet-assisted race car has the highest top speed of any vehicle in the trials but it's lightly armored. SPECIALS; Rear: Telsa Mines - Square Chromium shoots out multiple little mine which do light damage but are very, very hard to avoid due to the fact that there are so many. Long-Range: Thunderball - X, Triangle Chromium launches a ball of thunder wich homes in on her opponents and does slightly below average damage. Close-Range: Super Shocker - Triangle, O, O Chromium surrounds herself with electricity which will either do a lot of damage or hardly any damage depending on how good or bad you are. Hover Mode - O, Square, O, O Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: Rediculously bad defense. Rediculously good speed and agility. Can run rings around just about anyone, would be good if her close special was instant damage, but as it requires you to hug an enemy for a prolonged time, making you vulnerable to other nearby enemies... Limited usability. Works best versus Grok, Void and Rancor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Volcana - Burning up to torch all contnders!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Daria Caminus Height: 5' 7" Weight: 124 lbs. Born: July 24, 2005 Birthplace: Barcelona, Spain Vehicle: Fire Engine Rival: Void Avg Kills per Game: 4.0 Experience: Three-time East Coast Division Champion Vehicle details: Volcana's fire engine is engineered to start fires, not put them out. She drives i and directs its weaponry from a standing position. Heavy and heavily armored, it is cumbersome but lethal. SPECIALS; Rear: Napalm Mine - Square This mine looks a lot worse than it really is but try to avoid it as you can still be caught in the X of fire that erupts from the mine Long-Range: Inferno Cannon - O, X Volcan launches a Fireball at her opponents and if it connects the enemy will recieve medium damage and after that will still be on fire for a few seconds which deals out some more damage. Close-Range: Fire Storm - Triangle, Square, O Volcana launches an awful lot of fireballs, it takes skill but if really use her a lot you will be able to use this as a 1 hit kill. Hover Mode - O, Square, O, O Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: Fire Storm looks cool and is one of the best attacks in the game if you are able to master it, especially if you get an air kill with it. The fire engine is original to say the least. Naplam mine is by far the coolest looking mine in the game. Her defense is also fairly notable, but her agility is laughable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Void - Tall, Dark and not even remotely handsome ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Emil Algor Height: 6' 6" Weight: 110 lbs Born: July 1, 2014 Birthplace: Langley, Virginia Vehicle: Black Limousine Rival: Volcana Avg. Kills per Game: 5.1 Experience: Northeast Devision Champion Vehicle Details: A menacing Black Limo that combines quick acceleration and heavy armor at the expense of handling. SPECIALS; Rear: Graviton Mine - Square Leaves a mine which does decent damage and does weird things to the enemies view for a few seconds Long-Range: Nightmare Missile - X, Square Void launches a few missiles which all home in on the enemy and do heavy damage if they all hit Close-Range: - Psychic Maelstorm - O, O, O This move wastes a lot of energy and is only useful if you're trapped. Hover Mode - O, Square, O, Sqaure Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: Psychic Maelstorm is the most offensive defensive move created. Ever. It's completely useless normally, but if you get, say, three characters on you at once, it can and sometimes does kill all three. Wierd. I genuinely mean that, irrespective of your range it normally does pathetic damage, there must be a multiplier that's activated when it hits multiple enemies. That's the only explanation I can come up with... Also, that limo is NOT black. It's purple >=/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Buzzsaw - Hard on the outside, Harder on the inside ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATS; Name: Dr. Lincon Curry Height: 7' 1" Weight: 722 lbs. Born: May 13, 1985 Birthplace: Montserrat, West Indies Vehicle: Bladed Tractor Rival: Everyone Avg. Kills per Game: 3.1 Experience: Western Division Champion Unlocked by becomming champion in all 3 VCL tournements. SPECIALS; Rear: Sentry mine - Square A little mine is left which shoots missiles at opponents, then explodes both do a little amount of damage Long-Range: Buzz Blade - X, Square Buzzsaw fires a circular saw at his opponent which does medium damage but keeps cutting away at the enemy which does some more damage. Short-Range: Saw Fury - O, Triangle, Triangle This special will either do a lot or next to nothing, it hits 4 times which will kil if every hit hits. I've seen one hardcore Buzzsaw use this and he took out 4 enemies! Hover Mode: - O,O, Square, Square, Square Hover mode give you better handling at the cost of speed also your car will gently float down from falls. The weels of your vehicle will fold while in this mode. Description: You know the Rockets weapon? His mine fires them randomly, rarely hitting, never damaging. Buzz Blade is a good long range special, it also has the added bonus of causing prolonged damage after the initial impact, which means if someone else starts beating on your target, reducing their life you can very often be creditted with a kill you did next to nothing to achieve, as your blade will deal the final blow :P As for Saw Fury... Overall? Takes too long to use, and has almost no range. Sure, If you pull it off it's devastating. But that's simply not going to happen that often. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Weapons / Pickups --------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons; Heat Seekers You fire a heat seeker, it locks on to the nearest heat source, even if that's not the guy you want it to go for. It also swerves and spirals which, although is visually appeasing, often results in it crashing into the ground or a wall or some other random object. Rather annoying, also if your opponent fires a generic rocket the Heat Seeker will chase after that rather than its previous target. Waste of disc space. Homing Missiles. These things are extremly handy and are also very reliable. aim in the general direction of your opponent and get trigger happy. These things will follow anyone anywhere no matter how far away you were when you fired them. However, if you are extremely skilled at the game, you can dodge them in hover mode with most characters if you can keep it changing direction by swerving around the arena, sooner or later, it will hit the ground. Additionally, going round a corner will more often than not result in the missile crashing in the wall in a vain attempt to follow you. Chain Gun. Unreliable, but powerful. Fires in a straight line directly ahead of you. Each bullet does little damage, but the rate of fire is incredible. This coupled with your regular machine gun can result in quite nice damage... But keeping it on target at range can be nigh on impossible sometimes... Pulse Laser. This weapon is like the Chain gun, you have to do all the aiming, it eats up ammo very fast but, unlike the chain gun, this deals a very cool amount of damage per hit. I'd say it'd take 7 secs to take an opponent from full to 0 health using this. Artillery. God, this thing is useless. It doesn't do much damage, there is a huge delay between shots and the energy balls it fires are extremly slow and travel in a straight line. This weapon is extremly annoying. Damage is nothing great either... Gauss Cannon. This annoys most people but I like it. It fires in a straight line but it is pretty quick so if you can aim, this is no problem. I wouldn't recommend relying on it when you are new to the game however as it has a lot of recoil that can send you off course slightly if you don't predict it and act accordingly. On the upside, this thing can take off half of someones life. I don't know why but if you are further away from your opponent, it seems to do more however, aiming is difficult at large distances so it's kinda a double edged sword in that department. Rockets. Almost uselees they do hardly any damage, though they fire fast and home in slightly. I don't recommend using them however they can be handy against characters like Chromium. Or you could use them to evade a heat seeker... I suppose... Missile Salvo. This fires 6 green rockets which hime in like Heat seekers only they perform a bit better... You should consider firing these when you're nose to nose with your opponent, does decent damage that way, otherwise, use 'em to pick off people in the distance. Chromium is especially weak to these. Flak Cannon. Treat this as a shotgun, it'll do decent close range damage but it's useless at long range. The bullets don't home in so there's a bit of targeting to be done. Also the spread is quite wide, so even when your opponent is in line, you can still miss with the majority of the shot. Mines. I never use these, they explode if someone runs over them which is unlikely to happen due to the fact that they also have an extremely strict time limit after which they explode, useless in every sense of the word. EMP Missile. God I love this ^_^. It homes in a bit and if it hits, your opponent loses ALL of his weapons, ALL of his energy and some health, he'll also be blinded for a short time. Extremly handy if it hits. Mini Nuke. I actually don't like this, it makes battles far to quick. This'll home in a bit on whoever is in the general direction you are facing whenever it makes contact with anything, it lets out a decent sized shockwave that harms everyone who is hit by it and does major damage to anyone who is hit directly by it, 2 hits will kill if hit directly 3-5 if hit by the shockwave. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Level awareness --------------------------------------------------------------------- VCL Coliseum - Size = Small The smallest arena in Motor Mayhem it is Hexagonal in shape and has two levels to it. To get to the second level, use the two bumps at either end of the arena. Notable things; The giant screen in the middle of the arena can be shot down by shooting the four engines that keep it in the air. It will land on the first floor and will destroy any opponents if it lands on them. Chain Gun; To get the second best power up in this level simply jump up onto the screen after you have shoot it down and it is on the centre of it. Mini Nuke; This is the best power up in the game, to get it use the bumps which you use to get up to the second floor only do it slowly so that you get launched up higher and you should be able to get the Mini Nuke. Cheat Key; In this level to get the Cheat Key, jump onto the screen in the centre after you have knocked it down and go to the top right corner. The Cheat Key is hovering just off of the screen so just drive off the screen towards it. Cheat Key Unlocks; VCL Coliseum II Secret Areas; This level has no secret areas sadly. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mayan Jungle - Size = Small This is a small square area with a few ) shaped cut-offs at the sides. there is also a centre platform, unless you are a burncycle you will have to shoot at the stones to get in. Notable things; This place should be renamed "Burn-cycle heaven" because there are areas in this level which need to be shot at to be accessed but if you are a burn-cycle you can just slip in. There are 4 large pillars (2 on each side) which can be destroyed, if you do that then a large platform will fall down, it will crush anyone that it lands on. Chain Gun; You must use hover mode and drive up the SIDE of the centre platform then you should see it hovering in mid-air. Mini-Nuke; After knocking down both platorms, drive up the one on the south side of the arena, you literally can't miss it. Secret Areas; I didn't think there were any secret areas in this area until 5 minutes ago(honestly). There is 1 wall which has no cut-offs in it now if you go up the platform facing it you should actually drive up the wall then to your left there is a solid platform which, if you are skilled with hover mode, you can land on. NOTE: you need to be in turbo to make it to and climb the wall. Cheat Key; Use the same method as you did to get the Chain Gun. Cheat Key Unlocks; Secret Combos (Exactly what that unlocks, however, is beyond me) --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Airport - Size = Medium This is a semi-circle shaped arena with two floors, to get to the second floor use one of the bumps to jump through a window or use the ramps inside the building. Notable Things; You can get into the building by shooting the two harriers outside this will make them plough through the wall but beware, if you are too close you will be destroyed. Chain Gun; Go into the building via the bumps and and drive up to the edge of the pier like structure, you can see it straight in front of you just turbo straight towards it. Mini Nuke; Go up the ramp i the middle of the building and do a very sharp left turn then turn right and look out the window at the corner, drive or turbo towards it to get this Mini Nuke. Secret areas; There are no secret areas but there are two black holes at the top of the two side ramps hidden in the wall either of these will warp you outside near the machine gun upgrade. Cheat key; This key is on the side where the Mini Nuke is. You have to drive towards the bump slowly then put in all but the last button to the hover mode special then when the bump launches you, wait until you are at the peak of the jump then hit the last button then turbo towards it. Cheat Key Unlocks; Unlimited Hover Mode. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Aircraft Carrier = Medium This is your classic aircraft carrier, imagine one in your head, that's what this arena is like. Notable things; In the middle of the ship there is a wall that sticks out, follow it and turn where it ends then shoot the dead end to get inside, there are two levels in this part use the small bump to get up to the second area. Chain Gun; Refer to secret areas Mini Nuke; Refer to secret areas Secret Areas; There are two large fuel containers near the bottom of the ship, shoot them. Then slowly drive off the ship into the hole. Inside this place here is a Chain Gun, Mini Nuke, Mega Health, and Mega Energy. Cheat Key; The Cheat Key in this arena is at the top of the ship (the opposite side from the 3 health Pick-ups). It is near the top lefthand corner. To get it, you have to turbo off of the ship in hovermode towards it. Cheat Key Unlocks; Park Hill --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mayan Temple - Size = Large This level is like a large square. In the centre are two temples. There is a ramp linking them. Notable things; See all those brown walls with the distinctly yellow rectangle bits? Those rectangles are destructable. In addition, at the top of the pyramid, the ground in the centre can be destroyed, letting you in. Chain Gun; Refer to secret areas Mini Nuke; The Mini Nuke is in mid-air at the opposite side of the ramp above the smaller temple. You have to turbo up the side if the temple to reach it. Cheat Key; Use the same method as the Mini Nuke Cheat Key Unlocks; Unlimitied Energy --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Space Station - Size = Large Initially this arena is split in half but all of the walls with VCL on them are destructible so you better get to it. >:-) Notable things; The bridge with the destructible cubes at the entrance and exit blows up after all four are destroyed. Anyone in it at that time will die. Chain Gun; Refer to secret Areas Mini Nuke; Refer to secret areas Secret areas; There is a Black hole near the 3 health pickups, if you go through this you'll be warped on to secret area #1. From secret Area #1 there is another Black hole to the right near the corner, if you go through this you'll be warped to secret are #2 there is a Chain Gun, Mini Nuke and a health pick up. Cheat Key; From secret area #2 go through the hole in the floor and look at the corner of the thing you land on. Turbo towards the key to get it. Cheat Key Unlocks; Unlimited Ammo --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bermuda - Size = Large A large arena with a Giant "beached" sub right in the middle, which basically, splits the level in half. Notable things; There are no secret areas per sei(sp) so I'm gonna list what there is here. The side of the sub has missiles on both sides, Shoot these to blow a hole straight through the sub. There is an old aeroplane in the arena, drive up the wings to get up to a ledge that has many goodies and is a temporary shield from other enemies. You can also drive up the ramp inside the sub after blowing a hole through it to get there. Chain Gun; On the ledge, drive along the edge, you will see the Chain Gun in mid-air, drive towards it kinda fast and you will get it. Mini Nuke; It is just a bit further along the edge than the Chain Gun. Cheat Key; It is between the Chain Gun and the Mini Nuke Cheat Key Unlocks; Start With no Health (Useful, no?) --------------------------------------------------------------------- SECRET ARENAS These are unlocked in Career Mode by finding the Cheat Keys. Don't bother looking for cheat keys in these arenas - there are none. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- City Canal - Size = Medium A large canal with buildings on either side, there are alleys between the buildings. There are bumps at each end of the canal that allow you to get back out. Notable things; Between the two bridges over the canal there is a part of the road with no barriers, it can be used to escape enemies if you are a good driver. Chain Gun; It is behind the bump in the canal. it is at the side that only has 2 healths. Mini Nuke; at the same side as the Chain Gun hit the bump in the centre at around 20 MPH and you should jump up and get it. Secret Areas; There are none in this arena --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Downtown - Size = Medium A large oval-shaped arena, it has a large bridge through the middle and buildings with alleys separating them on either side. Notable things; there are missiles coming out of the ground at both ends of the arena, shoot them and watch the fireworks =). Chain Gun; Jump through the black hole and pray that you land on the correct rooftop. Mini Nuke; Jump through the black hole and pray that you land on the correct rooftop. Secret Areas; Drive up the bridge, and jump through the black hole (you can't miss it) then you will be transported to one of three rooftops. (1) An empty rooftop, nothing to do here except blow up the air thing. You can also go to the opposite corner of the Chain Gun and turbo towards it, this will make you collect the weapon, fly off the building and land on the highest ACCESSIBLE roof. (2) Chain Gun!!! also if you are in hover mode you can JUST make it to the roof that is on fire, you will lose health on there. (3) Mini Nuke!!! also, there is some health on this one. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Dual Carriers - Size = Large My favourite arena ^_^. The 1st ship is from the Aircraft Carrier arena. The only difference is the lack of the secret area and the 2 new ramps. The second ship is a bit empty in comparison. Notable things; each ship has at least 1 ramp that is used to jump from 1 to the other, In the "familiar" ship, there is a ledge that seems inaccessible but by going over to the other ship, then turboing towards the ramp, start a 360 degrees powerslide(X button with turn) just before you hit the ramp, then switch into hover mode in the air and turbo towards the ledge. You'll understand more when you try it... Chain Gun; On the familiar ship head inside and face the two windows from the floor, the chaingun id the powerup on YOUR right side drive/turbo towards it to get it. Mini Nuke; Refer to secret areas. Secret Areas; The familiar ship has 2 ramps, one gets you onto the other ship and the other appears to head out to sea. Line your self up so that you hit it dead on centre then turbo. As you head further out, you'll see a black hole this will warp you to a secret area on the second ship. The Mini Nuke is straight ahead of you when you land. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- VCL Coliseum - Size = Small Exactly the same as the first one except where the screen used to be after you shot it down there is now a great big hole! Notable things; The only difference except from the hole is the place where items are located. Chain Gun; It is where the Mini Nuke used to be. Mini Nuke; It is at the opposite end of the arena from the Chain Gun --------------------------------------------------------------------- ===================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------- Park Hill - Size = Medium A square arena with, wait for it, Hills! Plenty of them. Notable things; Use hover mode in this arena - Infinite hover mode is recommended Chain Gun; It is on top of one of the 4 highest hills (sorry I can't be more accurate than that.) Mini Nuke; There is no Mini Nuke in this arena unless you cancel out all other weapons. Secret Areas; There are no secret areas in this arena. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 8.
