Wait, no, wrong mind frame. This is another FAQ written by yours truly, this time with a vengeance. Why? Because Metal Arms is one of the rockin'est shooters I have played in a while! But seriously, I hope this guide helps you in your quest involving this game. Whether you just want to beat it or master it, I think this guide should prove useful. And with that, here's a little background on the game: Seemingly out of nowhere comes Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for the Xbox, GameCube, and PS2 consoles. MA was released amidst the 2003 holiday season and was easily overlooked by the gaming public due to other high-caliber and well- known games such as Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando and Jak II. But MA was not the only game that suffered from this, no. There were other platformers and shooters that were missed as well. But in the end I can safely say that no matter when you bought this game or how much you paid, you will enjoy it. I can best describe this as Halo meets Ratchet & Clank. It's funny as hell and has a lot of charm in a weird sort of way. To me that is Metal Arms. Here's hoping for a sequel from Swingin' Ape! For those who are interested in my walkthrough, be sure to read the few notes at the beginning of the walkthrough before browsing into it. ############################################################################### 2 ) CONTROLS & HUD ############################################################################### Xbox ~~~~ Move - Left thumbstick Turn/aim - Right thumbstick Primary Weapon Select - B (hold and scroll w/d-pad) Primary Weapon Fire - Right trigger Primary Weapon Reload - B (tap) Secondary Weapon Select - X (hold and scroll w/d-pad) Secondary Weapon Fire - Left trigger Primary/Secondary Weapon - Quick-select d-pad (hold to prog., to select) Combo/Action/Fly Up - Y Jump/Fly Down - A Flip/Stamp - A (tap twice) Melee Attack - Black Special Move - Special Move Exit Bot - X (hold) Pause - Start Go Back - Back GameCube ~~~~~~~~ Move - Control Stick Turn/aim - C Stick Primary Weapon Select - Hold X button and scroll Primary Weapon Fire - R Button Primary Weapon Reload - X tap Secondary Weapon Select - Hold B button and scroll Secondary Weapon Fire - L Button Primary/Secondary Weapon - + Control Pad Combo/Action/Fly Up - Y Jump/Fly Down - A Flip/Stamp - A (tap twice) Melee Attack - Z button Special Move - Special Move Exit Bot - B (hold) Pause - Start Go Back - B Button [Big thanks to Minsc30001 for GCN controls!] We really like your walkthrough. To drive, use the left analog stick. To aim use the right analog stick. Primary fire is the right trigger and on the tank you have secondary fire which is assigned to the left. The Loader has a claw for grabbing smaller Mils and a machine gun for destroying them. Taking Control of Mils: To take over a Mil (assuming it can be taken control of), equip your Control Tether then sneak behind the unsuspecting robot. When the square turns red you're close. Move the joystick a bit until it turns green then shoot it. You'll now have control of whichever Mil you've taken over. Recruiting/Discharging Droids: Droids are your helpers in the battle to defeat the Mil army. To get their help recruit them by moving the targeting reticule between their right shoulder and head while facing them. A message will pop up and press the necessary button (depending on your system). To discharge them do the same thing while you have them recruited. Triple Jumping: Glitch cannot perform a triple jump, but a character you play as later in the game can. (Hint: this character has a torch.) To triple jump tap jump three times very fast, otherwise it won't work. Weapon Macros: Weapon macros allow you to bring up a certain primary and secondary weapon with the touch of the D-pad. This is good for times when you want to bring out the Slingshot and Grenade or the Rivet and Scope without going through weapon menus. To program a macro, first equip the combination that you want the macro to bring up (example grenades with the Slingshot). Next decide what direction of the D-pad you want to set it to. Press and hold that direction for a few seconds until the blue arrow blinks. Finally, change your weapons and press that direction on the D-pad to make sure it works. Once you have it, pause then unpause your game to save macros. Heads-Up-Display (HUD) ---------------------- The HUD in any game is all status indicators that are on your screen. For example, ammo, health, etc. The numbers in the box on the left are where each thing is at relative to your television screen. The key on the right is a description that corresponds with the numbers in the box. +-----------------------------+ | 1 | 1 = Batteries/Health | 5 | 2 = Secondary Weapon | | 3 = Secondary Weapon's Ammo | | 4 = Targeting Reticule (crosshair) | | 5 = Motion Sensor (radar) | 4 | 6 = Upgrade Level | | 7 = Primary Weapon's Ammo | | 8 = Primary Weapon's Reserve Ammo | | 9 = Primary Weapon | 2 6 9 | | 3 (GLITCH) /7\8\ | +-----------------------------+ ############################################################################### 3 ) GAMEPLAY TIPS ############################################################################### >> Tossing and firing grenades: There's no reticule on-screen when throwing from hand or firing via slingshot, so you must improvise. And the way you do that is by using the little ball that's on top of Glitch's antenna. Slowly move so that the antenna ball is lined up with the target, and fire the grenade. Even if the antenna is bouncing back-and-forth you can still get a rough idea where the grenade will land up. This method isn't 100% accurate, but it'll do. >> Use the Control Tether when possible: This is one tip I cannot stress enough. If you have a chance to Tether a Mil then by all means do it! Regardless if I say something else in the walkthrough because sometimes guards will go investigate and the gameplay dynamic changes. Tethering Mils is good in a few ways: 1) If you do good with the Mil you're eliminating Mils you would have wasted ammo on. 2) Even if the Mil you're controlling gets destroyed, that's one less enemy you have to worry about. 3) Mils can often get to places that are hard to with Glitch because they can go unnoticed. Also, tethering enemies isn't as hard as you may think. They don't have to be standing still and you don't have to get very close to them. So when you're confident enough to do it, go for the Tether. >> Don't always use the same weapon: Metal Arms is a game where it's important to use the right weapons on the right things. You may like the Spew, for example, but it just doesn't work well on all enemies. In fact, some weapons are a complete waste of ammo if you use them on a particular enemy. Check the enemy and weapon section of this guide, or for a more in-depth look go to GameFAQs.com and check the specialized guides there. >> Be aware of the special grenades: What I'm referring to is the Recruiter and EMP grenades (as well as the other two). These grenades come in handy when you have many enemies to fight (especially Titans). An example would be throw a Recruiter at a group of enemies and have them help you. Or use an EMP to freeze an enemy, go behind them to take control, and then use them to do your dirty work. >> Try to fight one enemy at a time: Switching back-and-forth between a group of enemies is a bad idea as it often gets you killed fast. Take cover, step out, and shoot at a particular enemy. Repeat this and when it's dead focus on your next target. I find this necessary because not only do you take less shots it also gives you a chance to use a particular weapon on that one enemy. >> Don't stay out in the open: While it may seem like an obvious thing to say, it's not wise to stay out in the open too long. Especially on the higher difficulty settings where groups of Mils inflict big damage fast. Don't make yourself a target, so take cover and look for a better way to defeat the enemy. >> Check the non-obvious spots: When looking for secrets and pickups such as health, gold washers, and ammo; check behind buildings or even on top them. The developers didn't get lazy and stick everything in the open. Sometimes the fun is had just looking for stuff. >> Take advantage of the realistic AI: This game sports very cool enemy AI, in my opinion. If an enemy sees you run behind something they will follow the same way looking for you. Use this to your advantage by circling behind them and blasting them in the back. >> Get in the vehicles when possible: While it's probably obvious to you, you should always get in a vehicle whenever you can. They're often faster than Glitch and they save on ammo. Running over your enemies is another advantage to using them. ############################################################################### 4 ) WALKTHROUGH ############################################################################### O This was written under the NORMAL difficulty and many level walkthroughs have been revised to better suit all difficulties. Regardless, this will work no matter your difficulty. O This is a chip-based walkthrough. I give the walkthrough as if you wanted to find the secret chips. If you don't want the secret chips then I suggest checking GameFAQs.com for some alternative guides. O For the most part I do not tell you to pick up small things such as ammo, washers, or energy. They're expected of you if you need them, so if you don't then me telling you to pick them up is pointless, right? O Last but not least... I am not perfect. If you see something in this guide that really messes things up, send me a friendly e-mail and I'll see about correcting it. Please give the section and/or line that is messed up. And be as descriptive as possible when e-mailing me. My e-mail address is in the Guide Related section. Final Battle Begin Walkthrough: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.01 | Droid Mine: Hero Training ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Follow Hosed and Screwed through the Droid mines and learn the basic gameplay maneuvers. Follow them onto the elevator with the fleeing Droids. Take it down but be sure not to fall off! Keep following the pair through the mines, doing as they say. When you get to the second elevator wait for the Mils to come down and then destroy them with your mining laser. Collect the chip and activate the panel to take the lift up. When you arrive at the top don't cross the bridge just yet: it's destroyed by the enemies below and to your left. Look down and shoot the second-to-left link on the bridge. It will break away and they'll fall in. Go through the next shutter door. Follow around and grab the core charge, then throw at the rocks on the left from a safe distance. As the come out head down to grab the energy and secret chip. Come back up and through the hangar door near the rocks. Follow around and down the slippery slope. At this point you can finish the level by grabbing onto the zipline. If you want another secret chip run down the slop and jump over the lava and to the right. Defeat the Mils and at the top-right is the secret chip by the fenced area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.02 | Mil Mines: Do Ore Die ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Find the Ripper and use it to cut the red cables and bring down the pipes. Cross over the pipes into the Mil mining operation. Grab the Ripper from the right. Look to the pipes on the left and use the Ripper to shoot the wires holding them up. Jump on the pipes and cross the gap to destroy the enemies on the other side. Head around the corner and shoot the hatch on the ground for it to open. [TIP: It is possible to get through the shutter doors instead of going down the hatch. What you have to do is not alert the second Grunt over here, sneak up behind him, and shoot his head off. He will panic and rush in the door. But this is hard to do so I'll assume that you didn't.] Drop down, grab the Ripper ammo, and shoot the vents out. Come up and kill all of the enemies in this room and grab the chip. Head up the ramp and on top of the platforms you should see a vent (NOT the one by the red wires) -- shoot it out and head inside. Go right to get the Spew gun and a battery for extra life on your gauge. Head back to the left and if you look around you'll spot a secret chip. While still over here head down the ramp and shoot the vent out. Recruit the bot and shoot out the manhole. Down here get the secret chip just before the bridge. Cross the bridge and shoot the manhole above you on the other side. Recruit these two and head back to the first one. Go back out of the vent and into the room with the computers and fans everywhere. Look for the green door and head through. Use the arcade console to your right to control the Grunt below (it requires one chip). Destroy all of the other Grunts that are on this ground level and then the ones on the ramp. Go back down to the ground level and activate the red panel to open the shutter doors (you will come here later). Head back up the ramps in the center. At the top shoot the glass out and walk into the electricity to screw everything up. You'll have control of Glitch again. Exit back to the computer room and take a left. After the guy on the PA is done talking the doors will open for you to take care of the enemies inside. Pick up the fire buddy that's inside the container in this hall -- it will shoot the same weapon that you shoot. With it on you, quickly head into the larger room and kill all of the enemies in it. Be careful to not stand out in the open but do help out your recruits (especially on the higher difficulties). Now head around the back and blow up the machine that is respawning the enemies by hitting either of its tanks directly with a grenade. Take the lift up. Release the prisoners below via the control panel up here. Shoot the flying thing and any remaining enemies below. The green shutters doors on the same wall as you came in at are now unlocked, so head through. Take out the enemies that rush this hallway from behind the crates. Take the lift down. As you come into the room that you used the Grunt to destroy, hug the left wall and through the open doorway. Jump in the steel box to grab the secret chip (if this door is lock it's because you didn't take care of business when you were controlling the Mil earlier). Head to the other side of the room to meet up with a drop and complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.03 | Mil Mines: Seal the Mines ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Find the Det-Packs. Plant them at the designated locations inside the giant Mil Ore Processing Machine. From the start, blow up the biggest rock that has light shining out to get a secret chip. Head through the mines and kill the first set of enemies. Jump through the hole in the wall to slide down. Hop in the Loader (Y button on Xbox). Take out any enemies you want in this area. In the right corner (hidden in the dark, behind a crystal rock) is a secret chip in a steel box. Head for the other cave via the tunnel on the left side (follow the strips of land). Use the ramp on the right to go to the top, destroying all ground & air enemies. In order to get in this next tunnel you will have to step off the Loader and walk. The two Barter Droids with the boom box are selling stuff that you can by with washer you collected (I bought the scatter blaster). Take a left and then drop in the hole. Follow through to a big, open area; drop down in to the bottom and shoot the big generator thing (it's an orange-ish color). Use the lift to get back up and jump towards the center into the hole. Since the generator is blown up, the spikes can't harm you. Go through the red door straight ahead. Drop down into this open area and grab the picks out of the steel box to your left. Take care of any enemies in this area (you can use the Ripper to shoot the wires that are holding the steel slabs in the air). Around the back is a steel box with three Det-Packs in it. Grab them then use the elevator nearby. First, head down and through the pipes to the bottom where the ore is. Down here is a secret chip. Now it's time to go up to the next level and plant a Det-Pack on the blinking light in the center. Go up to the next two levels and do the same. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.04 | Droid Town: Clean Up ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Clear the Mils out of Droid Town. Move on only when the Droid Troopers tell you that an area is clear. Keep the Droids safe. Come out into the open and do as the objective says. But first use the blue jump pad on the right to get the secret chip on the building it springs you onto. Clear the first area and a Droid will tell you the objective is secure. After securing the second area walk up to your Droids and one of them will give you a Det-Pack. Use it on the door down in the tunnel, back out, and come back down when it blows. A store is down here. Come up to the next open area. As you come out of the hole immediately, prepare for a tough fight with the Grunts. Try to get the Loader if you can because it his virtually unlimited ammo and it hits hard. If you need it, there's some Spew ammo behind the building on the left as you come up, and some RLs by using the jump pad next to the tunnel as you come up. When you secure the area go further down and use the jump pad behind the pool of liquid ore. Up here, jump to the ledge on the rock wall and grab the secret chip. Drop down and continue. Take care of the Grunts in and around the hangar. Once inside hangar, run up the ramp and jump atop the platform hanging from the ceiling for the secret chip. Come back out of the hangar and look to your left and head for the jump pad just outside the hangar door. Take the second jump pad that's just up here across to the tunnel. Head down it and out to the third open area, making sure to get the battery before dropping down. This area is frantic, so work quickly to destroy the enemy whilst causing little damage to you and your Droids. Your best bet is to use a Cleaner grenade to target the Grunt in the Loader *first* (you may have to do this twice). When you get the loader, put some distance between you and the enemies and finish them off. When it's clear, head left of where you came out the pipe. Yet another wave, but this is the last one for now. Before destroying them take the Loader over to the pile of rocks (right wall) and move the small boulder with the loader's claws to reveal a secret chip. Collect it and finish the Grunts off. A boss will step out to fight you. At this point, you should definitely be in the Loader. Simply keep your distance, going in circles while shooting him. Eventually he'll blow up and you'll complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.05 | Wastelands: Wasteland Thunder ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Ram enemy RATs while racing to the Wastelands to catch up with Vlax before he gets away. Be careful with Krunk's RAT. This is a driving mission where you drive and a Droid "mans" the turret. Just get through the level before the timer runs out (easy task). Drive straight, avoid barrels and water, watch out for the plane that drops bombs, and haul ass. Before you know it, you'll be done with this mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.06 | Wastelands: They Live ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Beat Vlax to the Mil Communications Facility on foot through the treacherous wastelands. Cross the bridge and destroy the enemies up ahead under the arch. Continue forward for some more enemies -- one drops a grenade launcher. There's a secret chip behind the pile of ruble on the right side (just before the left turn). Also, grab the scope that's hidden under the ramp. Now go up this ramp and up the path. At the campsite let the enemies fight, move in and take out the remaining. Head into the green tunnel on the right. Take the path down and come out to an open area. Kill the two bots on the left then drop down and go right. When you get to the lake, kill the guard in the center and take his Rivet Gun. From here equip your scope as your secondary and the Ripper as your primary. Press your primary to zoom in across to the Mils on the bridge above the water. Now shoot the wires off by hitting your primary fire. Cross this area via the land to the left. Jump up onto the platform and use the pipe over to the right to get across to the other side of the water. As you step down two Zombiebots will come from your left where the burning torches are. Don't go left just yet. Instead, stay on the path towards the right and along the water (in a blown up vessel) is a secret chip. Go further back to collect the picks by the cages. Under the platform is another secret chip. Shoot the Zombiebots down with your Ripper and they'll become your minions. Now go back to where the path split and take the left passage this time (it's on your right from where you're currently coming from). Follow through, killing the Grunts and Zombiebots until you get to the beach. Turn right and look up. Shoot the wires to create a bridge. Cross it and take the path to the left. Kill the enemies and blow up the door. Kill these ones and look up at the platforms: shoot under them to kill the Grunts above with RLs. Head up the ramp behind you. Use your jumping skills to get up to where you just killed those guys. Toss a few grenades inside the doorway and finish off any remaining Grunts inside. Walk around and out onto the grated platform. Look out the opening shoot any enemies you see nearby below. Fall down and finish off any enemies on and around the bridge and then cross it. Turn left and look under the bridge after you cross: walk over the debris to get the secret chip under this bridge. Turn back around and continue through. Clear this area out while making sure you keep your distance from the multiple Zombiebots in the narrow path. When you pass them, jump the debris and up into the pipe. Walk down a bit to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.07 | Wastelands: Wasteland Journey ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Find a way out of Goo Canyon. After you slide down take the first right you see into the elbow tunnel. Get behind the Zombiebot and destroy it. Getting behind it prevents you from being knocked off the ledge. Come out the other end of the elbow tunnel and turn right. Head up and over to take care of some enemies below. Cross the bridge, destroying the enemies as you go. Use your scope and Rivet Gun to get the enemy on the pipe to the left. Make a right as you get across and head around the platforms into the pipe. Take care of the enemies in here, the Zombiebot will push you back so be careful. As you come up you can see the bridge to your right, below. Head left up here and around. When you get to the zipline look past it and to the left -- toss a grenade inside and rush in to pick up the scraps (not literally). Inside, activate the valve on the steam pipe. This lowers the lake's water level, so turn back around and take the zipline down. From here drop off onto the ground level below (where the water used to be). Blast the onslaught of Zombiebots and then look for the ramp against the wall that leads into a cave. First, grab the pickups under the ramp, head inside, and shoot the barrage of Zombiebots. Next, shoot the wires to form a ramp up to the Barter Droids. Across from this store is a secret chip hidden behind some pipes. You may want to upgrade a weapon or two before leaving this area. As you exit this cave head over to the left and you should see a secret chip on a crate that's floating under a bridge. Grab it and then head over to the right tunnel. Before going in look over to the right and you should see a secret chip. Get it then head into the tunnel. When you enter, the door behind you shuts and you are surrounded by Zombiebots. Take cover behind the debris but don't stay behind it too long or you might be pinned down. Work fast and keep strafing. When they're all blown up the door opens back up. Jump up the ramp fixed against the wall in here. Walk up to the big Droid to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.08 | Wastelands: Mozer, Schmozer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This mission is straightforward like the previous driving mission, only you're on foot and are using Mozer. Shoot with right trigger and swing with the left. When enemies are close, smash them. Use your gun from turret enemies and vehicles. Simply follow the level through and you'll beat this short mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.09 | Wastelands: The Zombiebot King ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Defeat the Zombiebot King and his minions in order to save Mozer from the giant bot chipper. Boss time. :) First, you want to get Zombiebot King to break open the thee gates covering the holes in the ground. Collect the pickups out of these and the secret chip. Now set your focus on the boss himself. Collect as many RL rounds as you can while learning their locations (there are some near the spawn point). Shoot your rockets at him until he stops and leans forward. At this point quickly equip your slingshot and coring charges and shoot a coring charge into its mouth (or a well-thrown grenade will work). You'll know you made a direct hit when he groans in pain and goes on the attack again. If you miss his mouth, re-adjust and try firing another shot. Do this process over three (3) times and one of his Zombiebot minions will come out. Destroy it and collect its energy. Attack the Zombiebot King once more, hitting it in the mouth and two more Zombiebots will appear. Take care of them and finish the Zombiebot King off with a fifth and final attack to the mouth. TIPS: - If you need extra energy, destroy the beam hanging near your spawn point. - Avoid getting near the Zombiebot King, run away while facing him. - When dodging Zombiebot King's mace (spiky ball), dodge left and right instead of backwards. - The mace can hurt you even when it's being pulled back, so watch it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.10 | Mil Comm Center: Into the Trenches ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Make your way to the Crater Compound by foot. Mozer gives you an upgrade of the Rivet Gun. Double jump to the first rock and over to the secret chip (if you fall off you'll have to restart the level to get it). Walk down the canyon and through the opening between the barriers. If you want to, snipe the two Grunts from up and then zip or drop off. Head into the mine to be warned by the Colonel. Kill the Grunts up ahead and then blow up the rocks on the right with a grenade to get the RL upgrade. Continue through to meet another Grunt. Head left just before it and there's more Grunts. After you've destroyed them, find the path out of these trenches where you will see a Grunt on a turret just up the ramp. Back up against the corner then equip your scope and RL. Shoot the top of it to kill the enemy inside. Come up and collect the EMP Grenade by the rocks up here. Destroy the Grunts up here and set your sights on the hangar door -- a Titan will come out. Destroy it with your rockets and/or grenades to move down into the bunker. Move through, killing the first two guys around the bend. The sentry on the ceiling can easily be taken out with a Spew (don't bother with explosives). Take the lift down and get the secret chip by jumping up and out of the lift as it goes down. Go forward as you jump and you'll land on the platform surrounding the top of the lift. The chip is on the bottom ring, so jump after you see the second yellow line. At the bottom Colonel Alloy warns of the scout bot. Throw your EMP Grenade towards it to disable it. Now hit it with an explosive or two (if you don't you will set off the alarm but can gain access to the ammo room on the right but it's not important). Head around the corner to the left and take care of all the Mils (one on the ceiling). Go forward to exit this bunker. Jump up to the right and look up above the bunker's entrance: run up the hill to grab a secret chip (it's high up). Go back in the trenches for now: kill all enemies you see in these trenches before going out. Once they're gone, jump out and take care of the Titan and any other remaining Mils. Look for the tower to the right of where you came out of the bunker. Its entrance is connected to the trench. Take the lift up, kill the two Mils, and then grab the Det-Packs. Drop down and plant the Det-Pack on either side of the huge wall opposite to where you exited the bunker. After you blow the wall head to this next area to clear it out. Take care of the Titan and the Grunts in the trenches. Head north of the entrance and into the second bunker. (Look behind this bunker entrance and to the left, you will see an alcove on the rock wall that has some pickups.) Destroy the two Grunts and the sentry and head inside. As you come in notice the locked door to your left -- use the panel just past it to go inside and get the secret chip (this activates the alarm but who cares?). Follow through the bunker destroying all as you go. You'll eventually emerge outside onto a curved bridge. First, take out the two Grunts up here. Then equip your scope and Rivet. Pick off the Mils on the left and up center (you can shoot through the railing). Jump over the railing and to the ground below. Take out the two Titans and the Grunt operating the turret up on the right side. There is a bunch of pickups in the building on the left. Destroy the two red domes on the left right side. Get on top of the big building via the ramp inside the building. Now jump inside the one dome to get the last secret chip. Jump back to the top of the building and up the ramp to the bridge. Head over to the zipline and take it down to the other side of the fence. Go down and into the cave to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.11 | Mil Comm Center: Infiltrate The Compound ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Find a way into the Crater Compound without being caught. Board the Sentinel straight ahead. Clear out this immediate area and head right a long strip. Take out all enemies that you possibly can using the machine-gun and cannon on this vehicle. Once they're done for head over to the right of the front entrance (across from it) and behind the rocks is a Spew Gun upgrade. Grab it and head back to the front entrance. First, blow up the four towers of this fortress. Blow up the entrance using your cannon. While still in the Sentinel shoot inside to kill any enemies you can to save your own ammo. Hop off the Sentinel and go into the fortress. As the alarm goes off run back to your Sentinel and shoot the two Titans. Then hop back down and enter the fortress once more. Clear it out and the Grunt on the turret ahead. Now head through this doorway and make a right. Mils rush in so take cover while firing back. Head through the door and destroy the second turret's handler. Make a right and into the building. Destroy the Mil replicator machine by firing several rockets (or grenades) at one of its two tanks. Head out and make a left into the next area where two red tankers are. Clear it out and make sure you get the Mils at the top of the zipline. Go into the building on your right and you'll see some of your Droids imprisoned by a force field. A Grunt will emerge as you walk around in here, so destroy him and collect the chip he drops. Use it on the panel to free the Droids. During the cutscene you get a scope upgrade. Follow the two Droids back to where they stop by the second turret. Hop in it and wait for the door to open. When it does shoot the Mils with it, but it takes a while, so be patient. When there are no more red dots on your map move forward to where the Mils were. If your Droids survived, they will head in with you for another assault. Otherwise, go through the doorway with the red panel next to it. Run straight across into the building. Destroy all inside as you work your way to the left into the other building. After blowing up the replicator, head outside and take care of the two snipers behind the buildings. Get between the two building and double jump onto one. Work your way on top and up to the sniper platforms. Follow this hallway along to the left and around the corner. Come out and drop off the platform. Walk up inside the big vehicle and grab the secret chip and weapon upgrade. Turn around and jump over the fence using the barrels. In front of you are the four generators -- blow one up and the rest will follow. Turn around and take out the onslaught of Grunts (use explosives). Go to where they came from. In this final area head to the right and enter the building. Walk up to the control console (looks like an arcade machine) and activate it. Take this bot down the ramp past the barriers. Blow up the orange containers and it should blow up the enemies in this garage. If not, use your rockets and grenades. While still in control, walk into the back left corner and then call the lift down via the red panel. Lose control of the bot (hold X for 3 seconds on Xbox) and go down into this Sentinel garage with Glitch. Jump onto the left Sentinel and double jump to the center one to get a secret chip. Hop onto the elevator to complete the level. NOTE: If your green Mil gets damaged you can access the control console again to get a new one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.12 | Mil Comm Center: Destroy Comm Arrays ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Stop Vlax from transmitting the location of Droid Town. Destroy the two Communications Arrays. In the same room that you start in, access the console to control a Grunt just outside. Run across the street and hop into the Sentinel. As fast as you can, destroy the Titan and any other Mils you possibly can. You need to wait for the hatch on the tank-like vehicle just up the road to open and shoot the Titans in there as well. If at any point your Grunt is destroyed (probable), you need to bring Glitch out and have him drive the Sentinel. With Glitch, go behind the big tank-like thing where the Barter Droids are. You can buy any upgrade you wish but just make sure you buy the secret chip that's in the right-hand column! Now get back into the Sentinel and drive it through the shutter doors that opened after you killed the Titans. You're in the comm array area. Obliterate everything that moves (watch for the Titans to the left as you come in). Once you've done so hop out, go to the corner northeast of coming in, and grab the secret chip behind some boulders. The third secret chip is on this same wall but more towards the bridge. Head inside the big tank-like vehicle in the corner. Get all of the Det-Packs and head over to the fort on the right side. Use the ramp inside to emerge on top. Turn around and plant a Det-Pack on the tower. Run across the bridge and plant the second. Go further across and plant another bomb on a second comm array. Cross the bridge and run along the left through the doorway. Destroy the Grunt then head through the hallway to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.13 | Mil Comm Center: Hold Your Ground ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You must defend your base and not let the Mils cross the bridge and get through the left and right gates. You're on the defense cannon so use both machine gun and rockets to fend enemies off. They come from the left, center, and right caves; and in three separate waves. Wave one is short and easy. Just shoot them as they come. Wave 2 introduces airborne enemies to the equation. Be on the lookout since they come from sharper angles left and right. Wave 3 is fairly harder than even wave 2. Enemies come fast so constantly use your machine gun in conjunction with your rockets. Shoot rockets before they come out of cave, scan area, and then focus back in. When the 5 minutes is up and all Mils are destroyed, you'll complete the level. TIPS: - On higher difficulty levels, shoot your bullets in bursts and NOT hold the trigger down. For example: shoot, shoot, then shoot at the same enemy again. Shooting in bursts keeps the machine gun stable thus increasing accuracy and lowering time it takes to destroy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.14 | Mil R&D Labs: What Research? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Make your way into the Research Facility in an effort to catch Vlax and retrieve Krunk's Morbot Power Chip. Quickly dash left to grab the invulnerability pickup that's in the crate. Destroy both the Titan and "scientist" both straight ahead. Turn right and use the button to raise the RAT into the air. Fall down into the pit to get the secret chip. Run over to the other side (the left) and do the opposite: hit the switch to lower the RAT and then get the secret chip in the turret seat. Head further back to where a big yellow trailer is (it has a turtle-life face on it). Destroy the multiple Grunts as well as the Titan over here. Next to the left conveyer belt and in the corner is a secret chip. Turn around and get the Det-Pack out of the yellow trailer. Exit this trailer but go by the crates just outside of it. Jump onto them, onto yellow trailer, and then double jump to the light hanging from the ceiling to collect a secret chip. Go back towards the beginning of the level and as you do make a right into the garage where you lower a RAT. Plant the Det-Pack on the door, destroying it. Grunts rush in so off with them and the sentry on the rails above once inside. Blast the two scientists in the green-lit room and then head down the blue hall adjacent to this. Destroy the Grunt of the left and the first and second sentry on the ceiling. Make a left passed the door, shoot the Scientist, and retrieve the chip it drops. Go back to the door and through it by activating the panel. Go forward and make a left through the doors. Destroy the red Grunt and the scientist but watch out for the two green Grunts with RLs. To get to the Barter Droids deactivate the force field at the top (I recommend buying any upgrade you need the most). Either way, go to the right side of the room and through the set of double doors. Once you go through the next set, you'll see a room filled with various Mils. Back off and let the Grunts rush the doorway and get them as they come in. Go out, use the crate on the left as cover, and then take care of the Mil on the RAT. Turn left and destroy the scientist and then the second Mil on a turret. With the room cleared, collect the pickups on the right side and everywhere else. Now head north and towards the elevator that opened during the brief cutscene -- equipping your RL as you do so. As you near it a Titan appears (you know what to do). Use the containers for cover as you destroy it. Before going on the elevator get the secret chip out of the back of the crates (jump on the ledge). Board the elevator and take it down to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.15 | Mil R&D Labs: The Search For Krunk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: Locate the foul-mouthed but loveable Krunk. He may have valuable information concerning the Mils' evil plans. Step off the elevator and wipe out the room full of Grunts. Now destroy the four replicators that are regenerating them (a scatter blaster works great). Blow up the mortar that's behind the central pillar. Use the jump pad behind it to get on the ledges above. Navigate to the central pillar using the zipline, and then drop down into it. Hit the switch and a bunch of Mils, including two Guards, rush the path behind you. Destroy all using your RL for fast work. Collect the chips that each Guard drops and then go to the door they came in. Activate both yellow panels and head through the hall. In this hallway, destroy all Grunts in sight. Now blow up the mortar on the right wall using your RL. Shoot out the grates on the floor, drop down, and collect the secret chip. Get out and continue down the hall to the green control console. Blow out the vent next to the console then take control of it. Now that you're controlling this Grunt, blow the vent up that's on the floor. Shoot the enemies that *may* emerge, drop down into the vent, and head to the other end. Jump through the vent above and open the door for Glitch. Take this Grunt inside the laser room. At this point you want to use this Grunt to do all of the dirty work it possibly can (especially on the higher difficulties). Now you should know that you can use the control console to respawn this Grunt an infinite amount of time, so keep sending it up the ramp and in the hallways until things are clear. You will get the "losing signal" message but don't worry because you can still go really far back. There's two things that Glitch will have to trigger but if you want to save ammo and health, run back to the console and spawn a Grunt. The two things are Mils that break through the glass in the laser room, and the mortars on the wall just past the vents Once the Grunt has done all of your dirty work, finally lose control of it and take Glitch up the ramp again. Shoot out the vents on the floor and get the secret chip down inside. Continue through the halls and shoot out the vent on the front of the duct above. Jump inside while standing on the catwalk and get the secret chip and pickups inside. Come out and you'll eventually see a green hologram in the corner. Go through the nearby door. As you come down this hall, get to the control console on your left. Use this guard to go on a rampage. Immediately take action on the Mils nearby, then head left into a big room with a bunch of crates. IMPORTANT: While standing by the doorway, aim for the replicators in this room. One is on the far left, one's to the back left, and one to the back right. Get the angle on all of them and shoot them with your lasers until they explode. If you can't do this on the first try, you should consider dying so that you can come from the last checkpoint. With the regenerators blown, do as much as you can before this guard is destroyed. Finally, take Glitch into this room. Dash straight across
and grab the invulnerability triangle from the crate. Now go crazy on these
guards. Once the smoke settles you'll see a cutscene for the level's end.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.16 | Mil R&D Labs: F&!?ing Krunked
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What you want to do is destroy *everything* you see below. First, take control
of the wimpy Grunt. Cause as much carnage you possibly can while your Grunt is
still in good shape. Once you've gotten it blown up, I recommend sneaking
behind a Titan, freezing it with an EMP Grenade, then taking control of it.
Use this Titan to destroy everything else. Assuming you're destroyed
everything, get against a wall and fire rockets at it until your Titan blows
up. (At least this is how I did this section) When everything is destroyed the
door in the adjacent room will open. Go to it.

Glitch is standing in the door waiting for you. Krunk gives Glitch (you) the
Control Tether and the level will be complete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.17 | Mil R&D Labs: You Know The Drill
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Explore the Research Drilling facility and look for chips to unlock
doors.

You start this level with the newly acquired Control Tether and another
battery added to your health. Ahead and to the right are the Barter Droids.
Once through the doors ahead, destroy the two Mils and round the corner with
your RL equipped. A few quick shots will do the trick for the mortar. In the
door on the right is a "sleeping" Mil for you to control (assuming you don't
screw up!). Equip your Control Tether and focus on its back until the square
lights up green -- now shoot and hold. Take him out this mining area with a
huge hole of abyss in the middle. This is important: use this Mil wisely,
taking cover behind any and everything. Destroy all that you see, including
the Titan on the other side and any Mils you spot in the rafters above. If you
want to, use the Loader while controlling this Grunt -- grab onto other Grunts
with the Loader's claws and then shoot them. Once you've done this, lose
control of the Grunt.

Come out here with Glitch and board the yellow Loader vehicle. On the right
side before a big pipe are some crates. Use the loader's claws to move them
and reveal a secret chip. While still on the right side go through the green
door, kill the Mil, and collect the chip it drops. Head back to the red door
you entered the mining area from. As you approach it turns green, a Titan and
a few of his Mil friends attack. Destroy them then head through the doorways.
Use the chip on the door across from where the mortar cannon was.

Run down the ramp and as you turn right toss grenade or launch rockets at the
enemies hiding behind the computers. Come out onto the balcony and follow it
to the left. When you get to the big pipes check in the last one for a secret
chip. Follow around and down the ramp, destroy the Titan, and the Mil that's
on the Loader vehicle. (It's best to use an EMP and take control of a Titan --
there's an EMP under one of the ramps by the pipes.)

At the ground level, head to the other side and up the ramp to another
balcony. Follow it around into a crate room. When the Grunts rush in take
cover and then toss a grenade or two; and finish them off. Go left of the door
they came in at, and to another store. Buy whatever you want/need and collect
the secret chip from the open crate. Head back around through the door that
the Grunts rushed just around the corner.

The elevator takes you up to a yellow hallway. Turn and destroy the Grunts.
Hit the switch on the panel to lower the drill bit, destroying the Titan in
the process. In turn, a Snerq arrives, shooting at you from the sky. Take
cover behind the central panel or in the yellow hallway. Equip your Rivet Gun
(or whatever you wish) and blast it out of the sky. Start to approach the
plank that extends to the drill bit, now look down to the platform on the
right and you should be able to see a secret chip: drop down and get it. Drop
to the lower platform and then double-jump onto the teeth of the drill bit. Go
up the spiral until you see two more platforms. Jump across and get the secret
chip from the open crate. Get back onto the big drill bit and take it all the
way up until you spot a Titan and some Grunts in plain site. First, destroy
the mortar up here with you. Then drop down to the plank that leads to the
rest of your enemies. Use the first doorway for protection as you destroy them.

Walk across the platforms but do not get on the red-trimmed lift. Instead,
jump off to the right to the baby blue colored ledge (you can't miss since
it’s huge). Head to the other side where you'll see some beams in a pit. Grab
the secret chip at the top of one of them. Turn around and go to the other pit
(this is where the lift leads you to). Head down the yellow hall and take the
elevator up to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.18 | Wastelands: Wasteland Chase
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Vlax is getting away in his RAT! While Zobby chases him down,
destroy all opposition using your RAT's RJV-780 20mm gun.

Vlax is in the first vehicle you see, so shoot at him until a second vehicle
approaches from the left, then focus on it instead of Vlax. After it's
destroyed focus on Vlax again and he will eventually get out of sight until
the end of the level.

You're operating the turret this time. It doesn't need to be said but I'll say
it anyway: take out your enemies as fast as possible so that you can focus on
another one that much quicker. This saves your RAT's precious energy. Most
importantly, shoot the barrels whenever enemies are close to them,
particularly in the building area where there are many Grunts on foot.

On higher difficulties this level must be played with near flawlessness. You
must learn the patterns, how to take out enemies effectively, and what to
focus on at the right moment. So you'll likely need to repeat this level quite
a few times and there's no checkpoints either. At some points it may seem
impossible but just keep trying.

Eventually you'll meet up with Vlax and his orange RAT. Quickly shoot the
explosive tank behind him; he takes off while you should be firing at him.
When he rounds the bend at the opposite end, shoot a second explosive tank
then quickly focus back to him while firing away. On higher difficulties this
method is *crucial* to defeating Vlax -- it's hard as hell but certainly
possible.

Eventually you'll wear him down enough for him to get out, but don't kill him
just yet. First head between the red and orange buildings for a secret chip.
Now take care of Vlax around this area (he'll eventually attack your RAT).
Once defeated, you get a chip and beat the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.19 | Morbot Region: Morbot City
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Get through the Morbot region alive.

Collect the weapon pickups on both sides of the room. Walk onto either pink
holograms to lower the steps. Go down and get the secret chip that's behind
some pipes. Walk to the pink hologram that's down here to open up an entrance
straight ahead. Jump through to the outside. Walk out towards the ledge ahead
(but not onto the hologram yet) and two Leeches will appear. Blast them out of
the sky and then walk to the pink hologram. A bridge forms crossing the water
but at the same time a Mil or two will fly towards you from the center. Blast
them out of the sky, preferably by using your Spew. Cross towards the center
and form the bridge to your left; and then cross it. Blast the Mils over here
and proceed through the door on the other side.

One the other side, when you get out of the tunnel, is an area full of various
Mils. Destroy them but try getting the Loader as quickly as possible to save
ammo. Once you have it head around the corner that bends right and destroy the
rest of the enemies in this area. With the Loader's claws, grab and remove the
pillar thing that's in front of the force field. Leave on the side and shoot
the Grunts and Predators on the other side of the force field. Go through the
door and into another tunnel, destroy the Grunt with the RL, and out to
another open area.

Blast the Mil out of the sky, go forward, and then blast a second one. At the
bend head over to the left and behind the building there's Recruiter Grenade
and a secret chip. Approach the dip in the road further down. This is where
things get difficult. You have your typical ground Grunts as well as some
Predators when you get to the other side. My recommendation: go down the dip
and up to the other side to lure the majority of the enemies out. Now run back
to the alcove where you picked up the last secret chip. Use this for cover and
only come out briefly to attack the land enemies. With them out of the way,
come out and use a pillar (or something like a pillar) for cover. Then when
the Predators get close on your radar sidestep and take them out. Head back to
the other side of the dip. Destroy any remaining enemies (if any). Over to the
left are two pink lights right next to each other (they're difficult to spot,
they're just left when you get to the end of the dip in the road). Behind the
light on the left are a secret chip and another recruiter grenade. Head
through the and into the tunnel. Shoot the Grunt to come out into the next
area.

Come forward and kill the two Snerqs. Move forward a bit more and take out the
Leech. Head around to the left. Step on the pink hologram to open the door. Go
inside and around to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.20 | Morbot Region: I, Predator
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Find a way to get to the Reactor beyond the pink force field. The
Reactor is your way out of here.

From the start, you will see glass panels on the floor straight ahead. First,
make a right and go up the ramp. Behind the pipes is a secret chip for you to
get. Go back down and step on the center glass panel -- the coolest elevator
*ever* is formed! At the top, slowly walk behind the snoozing Mil by the
zipline. Equip your Control Tether and use it on the Mil. Get on the zipline
(you have to jump out and away from the ledge so that it doesn't stop you).
Blast the other Mils as you near the landing. If you can, take out the enemies
across the water. Lose control and control Glitch again (make sure the Mil you
were controlling is destroyed). Take glitch down, cross the bridge, and finish
the Grunts off (if any). Walk towards the ramp and two Troopers will attack.
Make fast work of them and then collect the secret on the right side just
above the ramp. Head down the ramp to the control console.

You are now in control of a mighty Predator. I recommend getting used to the
controls since this is the first time you control a flying vehicle in Campaign
mode. Once you've gotten familiar, head around the corner to blow the bridge
up with your primary fire (purple lasers). Take the Predator in front of the
pink force filed. Blow up the bridge to destroy it. Basically, this is all you
do. When a force field blocks your path shoot the little bars that are moving
around it. In addition, remember -- shoot off the arms of the Predators using
your primary fire first. When you get to an open room with a cylinder thing in
the middle, go down and shoot out the shinny sphere in the center. This causes
the force field near Glitch to deactivate.

While in control of Glitch, turn back around and up the ramp. Make a right at
the top and through the newly opened force field. Run along the riverside and
when you get to the end jump off to the left, onto the closest pedal. Now fall
down into the hole.

Run forward for a Control Tether upgrade. Run along the tunnels and when you
make a drop a second time you'll be done with the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.21 | Morbot Factory: The Reactor Core
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Explore the Reactor area of the Morbot region.

Come forward to get the weapon upgrade. If there's a Mil hanging from the
pipe, take control of it and use it below until it blows up. Drop out of the
pipe and onto the floor below. Take out the ground enemies then set your focus
on the air enemies in this room only. If you strafe enough and use grenades
wisely, using a Mining Laser isn't too bad. It saves you ammo. When you've
cleared the room out head around the corner and down the hall to a bunch of
Grunts. One or two of them has a RL, so be careful. When you've cleared out
get the two secret chips in this room: one on the left alcove and one on the
right alcove. Walk over to the jump pad in the center right of this room. Time
it so that when you are launched, you hit the second jump pad in the air. Up
here, hit the third jump pad across. Make a left and go through the round door
with the pink arrows on it.

As you come out to a big, open area quickly dash left through another round
door. Follow along the left and through a round porthole. Slide down the
winding pipe to take control of the resting Grunt. Take this Grunt all the way
through, not stopping until you get to the end of the pipe. Don't worry about
the Swarmer spiders -- when you get to the end, throw grenades and use your
Toaster flame-thrower (primary) to inflict whatever damage you can to the
other Mils outside the pipe. Once destroyed, take Glitch on this same route,
not bothering with the Swarmers. Take out any Mils left, strafing to avoid
their flames. Once they're gone jump across the chasm onto the floating
platform in the center. This protects you from the Swarmers because they can't
get to you. Drop down onto a lower platform (but NOT the jump pad). Jump into
the alcove and get the secret chip. Jump to the platform with the jump pad and
take it up. (Tip: A lot of the times you will hit the ledge as you get to the
top, and fall to your death. To avoid this hit the jump pad at the very back
left corner. This usually works.)

Follow through and through a narrow opening. Quickly blast the Grunt who has a
flame-thrower. Continue across and into the pipe. Take it all the way down and
around. Eventually you'll get to a gap in the pipe (you have to fall through
it because the game won't let you cross). Circle around the room to the right,
blasting the Mils as you go. On the other side is a pink hologram. Stepping on
it reveals a door behind it -- go inside.

Pass through the next hologram and when you go down a bit you'll see a
cutscene. Go further down to encounter some enemies. Grenades work great in
these close quarters. Keep advancing until you get to yet another pink
hologram. Walk through the doorway that opens. Go around and hijack a Loader
as fast as you can (stun the one on the far left with an EMP and blast him
with Scatter Blaster from behind). Then the Loader to destroy the other
Grunts. Drive across the water and then pull the plug out to help the Droid in
the cutscene. Before exiting, get the chip that's on right side from where you
came in. Now go back to this Droid. Destroy the resistance on the way. When
you get to this room drop down to where the water used to be, step on the
hologram, and head through the door. Follow through this hallway with flames
on the floor. When you come out the door, you'll see a cutscene and the level
will be complete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.22 | Morbot Reactor: Fire it Up
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blast through the vent ahead with your Toaster (primary). Jump onto any of the
two platforms closest to the force field doorway. Blast the vent and then jump
across, inside. As you come up inside another room that has four vents, go
through one of the two vents on the left (not right). Follow it through and
you will come to a larger room with water in the center. Destroy the Grunts
with flame-throwers as well as the Leech flying around. Go through the
porthole on the other side that has pink arrows pointing into it. As you
progress through the tunnels beware of the Grunt with a flame-thrower. When
you get out head to either side at the split, go left and run across to the
porthole on the left. Descend the pipe, go left as you come out and to another
porthole. Blow the vents to come out to a large room with water to the left
and right.

Run up the ramp either way at the split. Up here, take out all Mils (on ground
and in air). Go further up and step on the two pink holograms connected by the
same platform. Now find the curved pipe in between these two, jump on it, and
cross. Use it to get to the 3rd and 4th holograms. With all four activated,
the pump is going fast.

At this point you want to backtrack up the pipe you slid down earlier. Once
you get to it, go up and, and make right. As you go down further, you'll
notice that the door is now locked. Use the jump pad that's now there to get
across. Head down to the left and through the porthole. Follow the hall around
then drop down into the hole in the floor. A bunch of Swarmers will come out
of the hole in the floor. Keep running to the end with a hole above. You have
to TRIPLE jump up through it. To do this, tap jump three times fast.

Come out to a room where an elevator is in the center. Destroy all enemies as
you run around to the other side. Walk onto the hologram to form a bridge to
the center. Step on the elevator and the hologram to take it up. Level
complete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.23 | Mil City Hub: The Hand is Mightier
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Welcome to the Mil City Hub. Search for Agent Shhh. He will provide
you with mission information.

At the start of the level you're given a new weapon, the Toaster, and another
battery towards your health total. I hope you're ready for a change of pace
because this is one tough level if you ask me. I don't know what you'll get
from the Barter Droids behind the building nearby, but if you can, at least
get the level 3 upgrade for your Mining Laser. The gun sucks without it, and
this upgrade makes it worthwhile. (There's a glitch in the game, so just keep
running around this building until they appear). Jump on top of this same
building using the double jump. Equip your Rivet gun and your scope -- look
out to the street (top right) and pick off the green Grunt(s). All right, head
out towards the street to encounter some Grunts. Jump on the green containers
and blast them from up here. Out in the street, turn right and up the hill
should be a Titan. Wait for it and then blast it as soon as it approaches.
Alternatively, you could stun or recruit it and then take control of it. Run
across the street to its left side. Leap over the pipe running along the
ground and in a vent up the hill is a secret chip. On the opposite side of
this hill is another secret chip. It's in an alcove that you can get to by
jumping on the pipe at the top of the hill and running back along the wall.

From here, you can tackle the top of the hill several ways. Stay on this left
side. Get the Titan's attention and when he comes over unload on it -- keeping
in mind that it has a shield on. When you do that shoot the mortar on this
same side. Further back is a mortar, which you can easily blow up with 3-4
rivet shots from long-range. Next, take care of the Grunts and miscellaneous
Mils you see. Go back a bit and jump over the green liquid to the left side
where the steel crate is. Get the chip from inside this crate and then head
over to the top right corner. Blast the mortar in the tower and any Grunts
that might come out. Take the lift inside to the top. Place the chip on the
control panel. This opens the pipe across the way, but this also triggers a
Predator. If you can shoot its arms off with the Ripper do so. If you're low
on energy just blast it with a RL instead. Once it's down go through the pipe
that was opened across the way.

When you go into the pipe, the cutscene will give you insight as to what is
going on. Holster your weapon (i.e. equip your Empty Hand) as this will
prevent you from being attacked in the next area. Head down the pipe and out
to large hub area. Over to the left is a green dumpster, and behind it is the
third secret chip. [If you don't want the fourth secret chip, for whatever
reason, skip to the very last paragraph.]

Getting the fourth chip will prove difficult, however. The map below in
conjunction with proceeding paragraph will aid you in getting it.

Position 1: Alert the left Titan by swiping your fist.
Position 2: In the trailer, wait for the Titan to come.
Position X: When the Titan moves here, attack remotely.

First make sure you have the third chip (also displayed on the map) before
doing *anything* in this area. After that, walk to the right a bit to where
the Grunt is standing in front of the hangar with two Titans inside (one on
the left and one on the right). The one on the left has the fourth secret chip
that you want! Unfortunately, it's seemingly impossible to simply go gun-hoe
on the Mils because there’s just too many of them. On the lower difficulties
you could try using and EMP on the Titans and quickly kill the one with the
chip. I was able to do this twice but it takes effort. Your best bet, instead,
is to alert the Titan on the left and lure him out to you. You can do this by
standing by the trailer where the Droids are hanging out. Check position "1"
on the map -- stand there and swipe your hands in the air -- this should get
the Titan's attention. Now, quickly run behind the trailer and inside. If the
Titan doesn't come to where you see the "X" the map then you'll need to come
out and make sure he sees exactly where you are. Once he does, he'll come back
here. Now all you have to do is angle grenades outside the trailer (the crates
will stop him from coming behind it). Use rockets, grenades, and whatever else
you need to; making sure you don’t get close to the explosions. Don't stray
too far from the back of the trailer. Once you've destroyed this Titan he will
drop the fourth chip. Quickly run on out and grab that sucker.

Now all you have to do is talk to the Droid that's behind the trailer,
outside. A cutscene will play and the level will be complete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.24 | Mil City Hub: Find the Spy Factory
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Get to the Mil Spy Factory through the No Droid Zone of Mil City by
any means possible.

Turn around and collect the pickups out of the trailer behind you. Run down
and through the hangar door that automatically opens. Take out the two Grunts.
A Titan is down the ramp so I recommend discharging your Droids in the
building on the left to protect them while you take out the Titan. Either way,
get the Titan's attention and take it out with whatever firepower you have
(try sniping it with a Rivet or RL first). If your Droids are still alive get
them and head over to the green dumpsters to the right. Jump up to the walkway
before the ramp that goes down. Blast the glass enclosed walkway above. It
will fall and a secret chip will fall out.

At the bottom of the ramp awaits a Titan and a bunch of other Mils. But first,
you want to get something... At the bottom of the ramp and to the left is a
fence with steel crates stacked against it. Jump over it, round the corner,
and take out the Titan. Collect the Rocket Launcher upgrade and secret chip,
then head back over the fence.

In this city area again, destroy the Titan and the Mils. Head further back,
destroy the Grunt operating the cannon, then the generator to deactivate the
force field. Jump inside the conveyer belt tunnel and come into a round room
with two pillars (do not shoot at the Titan across the way!). Collect the
pickups including the Control Tether upgrade. Jump up to where the arrow is
and then take control of the Titan using your Control Tether.

While in control of the Titan, destroy the generator and look towards the gate
to the left. Blast the Grunts as they come out of the little building to your
left (keep blasting this thing with rockets until no more come out). Blow up
the Titan and head out here. Clear out all enemies including the Sentinel
that's on patrol. If you are killed in the process it will be tough to do this
with Glitch, so be careful. Once the area is ridden of enemies, destroy this
Titan by walking into a wall and continually firing rockets (secondary). Take
Glitch out to this area and collect all of the nice pickups the Titan yielded
you! Be sure to check in all of the little buildings that the Grunts were
coming from. Hop into the Sentinel and head up the tunnel.

When you come through the shutter doors you get a gold washer by running over
the post on the left. Over to the right is a back pathway where you'll see a
phone on the right. Across from the phone, get the secret chip in the crate.
Come back out to the street and head up the ramp. Blast the tower straight-
ahead until you see two flashes. Then focus your attention over to the left.
Take out the Grunt in the Sentinel and every Grunt on the ground you see. A
bunch will flood out of the building adjacent to each. Keep switching to the
left and right side, blasting them with your cannon and machine gun as they
appear. After a long while they will stop coming. Go over to the right
entrance and shoot the Titan hiding inside. Get off the Sentinel and blast
both generators -- one in each building. Head through the gate that you just
opened. Jump onto the conveyer belt and go down with the crates to complete
the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.25 | Mil Spy Factory: Unhandled Exception
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Infiltrate the Spy Factory. Find the reprogramming chip. Escape in
one piece.

Go through the door ahead and blast the Sentry on the ceiling -- hide behind
the pillar on the left for cover. Head around and through the door out onto a
balcony. Turn left and blast the Sentry in the distance. Run down and make a
left through the door under this Sentry. Round this purple hallway, destroying
a third and forth Sentry. Come out and then step onto the center of the circle
to take the lift down.

Shoot the Scientist down here then turn around and get the Wrench from the
crate. Equip this Wrench on your secondary then walk over to the machine next
to the computer. Step onto the platform where the claw reaches down. Next, hit
your secondary fire, and since you have the Wrench equipped Glitch will
dismantle himself. The claw will pick up your head and escort it away. Press
secondary again to reanimate what's left of Glitch (torso and legs). Run over
to the right and under the first conveyer belt, to the second machine. Press
secondary like before and the machine will carry your torso away. Reanimate
Glitch once more and run further right, under the second conveyer belt. Get
the secret chip that's in the crate and then use the wrench a third time over
here. This final time Glitch's legs will be carried away and you'll see first
hand what's going on.

After the entertaining cutscene you're in a room with a Grunt that's guarding
you. You cannot be caught here, so read carefully. You're standing in the
middle of the room on two footprints. As soon as the Grunt leaves make your
move. What to do: Open then close 4 of the boxes at a time (open one, close
it, and move on to the next). After checking a fourth box run back to the
center and stand *somewhat* lined up the way you were, facing the door. The
Grunt will eventually come in and if you closed all of the boxes and lined up
correctly, you will go unnoticed. Leaving one box open will simply make the
Grunt suspicious -- leaving more than this will cause a mission failure. When
he leaves again, spring over to the next four boxes, circling the room. Do
this until you find a chip (it's in a random box each time). When you get the
chip head back to the center and stand on the footprints once more. When the
Grunt comes in again you will see a cutscene to a training area.

If you watched the cutscene you shouldn't have a problem with understanding
what you have to do. It's like Simon Says, only without the flashing lights.
Whenever the Grunt says "Command" followed by an action, you do that. If the
Grunt doesn't say command then do not do it. Screw up three times and you're
toast. It's not super long, and once you complete it you'll see a cutscene of
Glitch running to an arena. Let the Droids fight it out until there's only one
showing on your radar. Go out and finish it off. Go through the door that
opens up. Run along the conveyer belt and quickly jump *over* the panel that
you see in front of you. Otherwise, you'll be sealed into a steel crate. (If
you are sealed in the crate, you can use a Coring Charge to blow yourself out
of it.) Pass up the two Grunts and through the door. Head around the hallway
to meet up with some partner Droids and to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.26 | Mil City Hub: Access the Ruins
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Take the RAT through Mil City and locate the entrance to the Ruins.
Clear the blockades using the Det-Packs.

Run to the left side of the ramp and get the Magma Bomb and secret chip. Go
back to your RAT and use it to jump the first gap. Over here, drive straight
and run over Grunts you see. Then, quickly jump to the turret and blast
whatever's left. Make sure you take out the Titan. Hop off your RAT and into
the small building on the left is a Grunt with a RL -- blast him and take the
Det-Pack from inside here. Blast the wall preventing your RAT from
progressing. Hop in and through the doors.

This area is tougher than the previous. First, focus on the Mils in the street
ahead. Get on your turret and blast them (don't bother running over them this
time). When you've cleared them out, head through the gate on the left and
take out all enemies you see here (there’s a Mortar in the tower and a Titan
behind in). Over here, behind the left tower, is a secret chip in the corner
(blow the barrel up). Now go back into the street and look for the sewer lid.
Blast it off, drop down, and destroy the Grunt with the RL. Head to the other
side of the pipe and come up to the right side of the street, in a building.
Get the secret chip and any other pickups you can (if you shoot certain
computers in this area washers will fall out). Get the Det-Packs from the back
of this place (in the open crate, next to the green dumpster). Head into the
street again. Go up to the wall and plant the Det-Pack. Run back to your RAT
and proceed on through.

Before going down the ramp into the tunnel, get out and on top of your RAT.
Jump to the wall on the left side. Walk along it a bit and drop off to the
left. Collect the pickups as well as the secret chip. Use the crate to get
back up. Go back into your RAT and drive through the tunnel.

Drive through the green liquid and when you get through the next shutter doors
you're greeted by a Titan and a Grunt or two. Handle this any way you like,
but I always choose to get out and use my turret since it saves precious ammo.
When they're toast head up the hill and take out any enemies in sight (one in
the tower and a few behind the barriers). Go to the top of the tower and get
the Det-Pack. Come back down to plant it on the barrier. Cruise on through.

When you come out, head around the corner to the right. Take out the two
Grunts standing next to each other. Get up to speed on this straightaway and
hit the ramp ahead to cross. Drive through the shutter doors and follow the
path to a dead end. Walk towards the ruble to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.27 | Ruins of Iron Star: Seen Better Days
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Search through the ruined city for Agent Goff's parts.

Wait a few seconds for the Mils ahead of you to stop fighting. Go down the
ramp and take out the remaining enemies. Follow along the road until you see
what looks like three stain glass windows on the right. Below them and to the
left is a door -- go around this and to the other door next to the purple
flame. Go up the ramp and collect the secret chip up here. Head through the
tunnel to blast some Mils that are fighting up here. Fall off the platform and
to the right.

Through the doorway is a Zombiebot or two, so make quick work of them. Across
from where you came into this area at is a secret chip. It's hard to spot
because it's behind a wall that blends in well. All you need to know is that
it's left of the two blue beams against the wall. Once you have it head to the
right and past the broken down RAT. Blast the Grunt on the turret and other
Mils. Head around to the left inside the building, and then up the ramp where
the purple flame is.

When you get to the top blast the Zombiebot and the other Mils as you drop off
the ledge. Proceed through and you'll encounter a Mortar that's on your right.
Destroy it and look for the Mining Laser upgrade in the alcove on the left,
just before heading down the ramp to the right.

This area resembles a subway except it has green liquid where tracks would be.
Come out and blow up the predator then use the catwalk to cross to the other
side. Go up the ramp on the other side. A Zombiebot will drop from the ceiling
on your way up, so be careful.

You come out to an open area with Grunts trying to shoot you from afar. Use
your scope and preferably you Rivet gun to pick off the one on the bridge and
the one inside the building on the back lower left. Run over to the right and
up the ramp inside the blown-out building. Get the Grunt in the back up here
before he turns with his turret. Hop on the turret and shoot the Grunts that
will rush across the bridge. The doorway to the right of this turret leads to
the bridge. Slowly cross the bridge, and the moment you see an explosion
backtrack to the turret. Look down and across to shoot any Grunts you see
below. Now cross the bridge.

When you get to the other side go down and then cross another smaller bridge.
Blast the Zombiebot that lunges towards then proceed through the building.
Make a right at the T-junction. Head straight and up into the pipe for a
secret chip. Turn around and the Zombietbot will come animate itself (you know
the deal) Now head back to the opposite end. Blast the two Grunts that run
down the ramp, using the left wall as cover. Once you've destroyed the Mortar
head up and around.

You come out to a big, open area this time. Quickly drop down and use the
broken wall in the center right for cover from the Titan. Shoot the Grunt as
it crosses towards you then set your sights on the Titan. Before going through
the doorway on the other side, first go over to the top right corner where the
ruble is. Find the broken up bridge and take it to the back corner. Up here is
a secret chip. Go back to the other side, through the doorway, and up the ramp
to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.28 | Ruins of Iron Star: The Sniper's Lair
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Find all of the pieces of Agent Goff scattered among the ruined
section of the city.

First, walk forward and over to the right corner, ignoring the Grunt to your
left. In this corner and next to the flag is a secret chip hidden behind the
wall. Collect and go to the left to notice the Grunt that's not facing you.
Take control of this one and then head around to the right corner. Take out
any other Grunts you can (I was able to take out three by shooting the third
one from a distance). When you're done with the Grunts look through the
archway to the top right and blast the Mortar with a rocket or two. With them
finished, destroy the Grunt that you're controlling. Now take Glitch around to
this same area. Go forward through the archway and pick up Goff's Torso.

This next area is full of enemies hiding behind things, so you will want to do
it systematically and in order. Go to the right and blast the Grunt up on the
ledge. Go left a bit and you should see a doorway leading inside of a
building. Take the ramp up to shoot the Grunt from behind. Do not take the
zipline down unless you know this area very well. Come back down and go
through the left, open path this time. Make a right behind the building as
soon as you can. Go up the ramp behind here and destroy the Grunt on this
ramp. At the top, take out the remaining Grunts that have Rivet guns. Leap to
the other building to collect a secret chip. Now focus on the two Titans on
the ground level. Take one out at a time, using the ruble around this area as
cover. Once you've destroyed them (or if you don't even want to destroy them)
go back on top of the building using the ramp, and look for a doorway to the
right as you come up. There's a purple torch right by it so it's hard to miss.

As you walk straight, get Goff's Legs ahead of you. Turn left at this doorway
and pick off any unsuspecting Grunts from distance. Destroy the two Mortars:
one below you, to the right; and one ahead of you, to the right. With that
taken care of walk down the right, being careful to not fall into the liquid.

This upcoming area I found to be challenging. It’s littered with enemies high
and low like the previous area only with more enemies. What you need to do is
take cover and destroy all enemies on the ground first. Then go for the two
cannons that have the bull's eye aiming for you. After doing this and
collecting everything, go towards the back and defeat the Zombiebots. There's
a building in the center back here. Go up the first ramp and as you do turn to
the left at the top and go into the corner. Collect the health and secret chip
that's on the ledge. While still up here go over to and up the second ramp,
out onto the ledge. Look over to your left then equip your scope and RL
(assuming you have ammo for it). Shoot the Mortar twice. Then shoot the Grunt
across the way, on the other side of the zipline. DO NOT take the zipline over
just yet. Get on the other side of the fence below by either going out to the
bottom of this building or jump across to the ledge or walking around it. Get
the secret chip that's over here. Now you can go back into the building and
use the zipline. Double jump forward to get on it. When you get to the other
side collect Goff's Head to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.29 | Mil City Hub: Secret Rendezvous
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Head toward the tower at the center of the city. Find Agent Shhh.
Droids are not allowed in the city at night.

From the start you are given an Arms Servo Upgrade and receive a transmission
from Colonel Alloy. Quickly go left and jump onto the conveyer belt. Go down,
get the secret chip, and then come up to get the grenade. Take out the Mils on
the other side now. When you've cleared things out go into the yellow trailer
in the center to get the Det-Pack. Get the chip out of the steel crate just
outside of the trailer. Across from the tower and to the right of the shutter
doors is a closed door. Above this doorway and on the building is a SUPER
secret chip. To get it, double jump to about halfway up the door's frame.
Then, as you hit, double jump again while holding forward. Alternatively, you
could do the jump trick detailed in the trick section of this guide. Get the
secret chip and check your objective for a little message from the game's
developers (thanks to BrutalForce202 for making me aware of the objective
message). Now head back and plant the Det-Pack on the shutter doors to blast a
hole in them. Don't go through just yet. Instead, head to the top of the tower
and use the chip on the control console (the chip is found on one of the
Grunts that you kill in this area).

While in control of the Titan the first thing you need to do is blast the
Grunt in front of you. Quickly turn around and head through the door to
outside. Make a right through the doors you blew open with the Det-Pack. (On
higher difficulties it's probably wise to stay on the other side and shoot
through the hole that's in the doorway.) In this hub-like area, destroy
anything and everything that moves. Take out a Grunt or two then focus on the
Predator in the sky. Once it's out of commission (if you still have the Titan)
sweep the area.

Get Glitch back and take him across to the small building where the Titan was
is. Blast the first Grunt you see inside (they keep regenerating) and then get
the secret chip that's behind the computer. Come out and head through the
doors you blasted. As you enter the hub area with Glitch you'll see a green
hologram in the center. Go across and behind this thing to a booth where a red
light is. As you enter it, the alarm goes off and then some Grunts will from
your back left. Destroy them and head through the doors that they came from.
Walk down the tunnel and approach the Barter Droids. Buy the secret chip
that's in the right slot, the battery, and anything else you might want.

Here's the important part. Remember the booth you went to and set off the
alarm? Well, you want to use this same booth to open the nearby door but you
can't set off the alarm. To do this go back to where the enemy regenerator was
(it's in the first area). Run to the left of the regenerator and behind the
computer. Wait for the next enemy to come out of it. When it does use your
Control Tether on it. Now take this Grunt to the booth, activate to open up
the shutter doors. A Titan and a few Grunts run out. As much as you can, blast
them. If your Grunt is blown up, simply repeat the process you did before to
get another Grunt under your control. Keep doing this until they're finished
off (especially the Titan).

You need to go through this northern entrance but it's highly recommended that
you keep using Grunts to do your dirty work, unless you're going for the Speed
Chip then you may not want to. There's a Titan on top of the bridge, some
Grunts in the street and one Mortar to the right as soon as you come through.
Once you've cleared them out take Glitch to the top of this hill to meet up
with Shhh and to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.30 | Mil City Center: Bright Lights, Mil City
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Find your way to the Tower at the heart of Mil City and rescue
Exavolt from the Mils. Beware of the Scout patrols.

Before I get to the walkthrough, I just wanted to inform you, the reader, that
this level was such a pain in the ass to write a walkthrough for. Why? Because
the unlimited possible ways of beating it. I found that you can run through it
many, many different ways and that there is no tailored review that would work
for everyone. My best is all I can give, so here goes...

The first thing you want to do, if possible, is take out the little Scouts
from the ground level in front of you. All they do is sound the alarm and
annoy the hell out of you. After you destroy them (preferably with the Rivet
gun), hit the jump pad near the start, on the left. Walk along the ledge and
jump to the building further left. From here, blast the Sentry in the tower.
Double jump to this same tower and shoot the Sentry across the street. Go down
the ramp and in the booth on the left is a secret chip. Head back up the ramp
and sneak left, through the fence. Head up the ramp where the Titan is.

Titan strategy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you take control of the Titan that you see at the top of the hill you'll
notice that you can't go far with it because it keeps losing signal. What you
can do is take control it, move forward in the level, then take control of it
again after losing signal. If you keep doing this you can essentially make the
Titan do all of your work such as destroying the Mils and whatnot. Be careful
not to get too close when you Tether him and always face him in the direction
that you will be going as you lose control. Otherwise, if the Titan sees  you
he will attack. After you've cleared out the level with Titan, go around with
Glitch and collect the pickups and secret chips. For this and level
completion, simply scan the following paragraphs.
Glitch strategy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look for an alleyway on the left (don't bother with the Titan). Follow along
and take out the Grunts you see. Head around further where two more Grunts are
facing toward the street. Take control of one of them, destroy the other one,
and do as much damage as you can.

Come out into this street with Glitch and head around to another area with
electric force fields in the way. Get past the Scouts around the corner and
you should see a tunnel to your left. Just before tunnel is a gate. On the
right side are some crates behind this, and in one of them is a secret chip.
Collect it and head through the tunnel, passing the yellow trailer.

When you emerge and go to the left you will see a bunch of enemies further
down. Shoot them as you work your way forward. On the right you will see and
alley. Follow it around where you will see an electric force field and some
crates. Go around the crates and you should see another crate by itself in the
corner. Get the secret chip inside then head back out the streets. Run across
to the left side where the jump pad is. Take it up to a bridge and destroy the
Grunts up here. Work your way along the ledges, using this area to care of the
enemies (such as the Titans) below. When Mils are cleared walk to the left of
the big ramp and under it, in a pipe, is a bunch of pickups for you to
collect. Turn around and round the corner to go up the ramp with the big face
above it. Walk around to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.31 | Mil City Center: Get to the Tower
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Find a way to steal the tank. Climb the statue of General Corrosive
and look for a way to reach the large tower.

Come out in the open and use an EMP grenade one of the flying Mils. While it's
stunned, go behind it and take control of it with your Control Tether. Use it
to get on top of the tank storage building in the center of this area. Fall
down into the hole on top, drop down, and activate the green switch to open
the gate. Step back outside, walking around and destroying all Mils you
encounter. I was able to kill all of them in a square block, but you should at
least make sure you get the Mortars in the towers. Destroy this Mil you're in
control of by firing your primary against a wall.

Take glitch to the tank storage building. Get the secret chip behind the
Sentinel (tank) and then hop in. Take it to the ramp and drive through the
fence. Come up through the tunnel where you'll see a big, gold statue. The
path splits left and right: go through the right, blasting any Mils that you
encounter. Drive around the back, hop off, and blow up the computer that is
inside the alarm building.

Go to the right side of the statue where you'll see a ramp. Head up the ramps
until you get to the raised foot of the statue. Jump onto the front of the
foot and up to the platform. You'll be on the left side, take it up and around
to the back. Finally to the right, jump up to the platform and take the
zipline over here down. Take it down, get the secret chip out of the crate,
and use the jump pad to get back over the fence. (Note that it is possible to
use the Sentinel (tank) to get over both force fields simply by parking it in
front, standing on the very top, and double jumping over.)
Work your way back up the statue as you pass the back zipline look for a
support beam on the right just before you jump towards the right side zipline.
Walk over to this beam and if isn't a lift there wait for it and it will
appear. Take it up to the right arm that's holding a globe. Jump out onto the
arm, turn around, and then jump into the hole that's in the back of the globe
to get a third secret chip. The last chip is up here also. You can get it by
taking the lift up as usual, walk across the *very* top of the state (head
area) and to the platform on the other side. Turn around and look above the
statue's head to see the secret chip. Jump to get it. If you want to get to
the Barter Droids jump back to the platform you were just on and take the
rappel down.

Finally, you want to get to the rappel behind the statue that's on the same
level that the lift comes down to. With everything said and done, double jump
to this zipline and take it down to complete the level.

4.32 | Droid Town: Unwelcome Home
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: It's the last stand for the Droids. Clear out all the Mils from
each section of Droid Town.

This is a tough level if you don't formulate a strategy that works for how you
play the game. If there is one level I recommend using -- no *demand* --
Recruiter grenades on it's this. Also, if you can, EMP one of them and use the
Control Tether.

At the start, turn around and get the easiest secret chip in the game! Follow
through outside and get ready for battle. There are two waves of enemies in
this first area. Use the mounted Turret on them and if you want to get up high
to shoot rockets at them, use the jump pad. After the first wave, grab the
mega energy from the beginning behind a building on the right. Destroy the
second wave in the next sector, get energy, and proceed to the next area via
the tunnel on the far end.

As you come to the second area note the mega energy behind the left building
as you come out. Take cover for a strong first. There's a jump pad behind the
tunnel that you come up -- hit it and toss a Recruiter down when you see a
ground of Mils below. Destroy all Mils and allow your Droids to do most of the
work if you can. After the first wave a cutscene will play.

Go to where the cracked ground is. Step on the jump pad, walk along the bridge
to get the secret chip that's up here. Now turn back and go to the first area
where your base was.

As you come out of the tunnel it's a best bet to get on top of some buildings
so that you can easily pick off the flying Mils with your Rivet guns. This
works well. So use the jump pad on the right, go up the ramp, and double jump
on top of the bridge/tunnel. Stay up here, pick off the Mils, and use grenades
for the ones below. Blast the ones at the big door. Come down and when the
area is clear, the level will be complete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.33 | Coliseum: 15 Minutes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Unavailable.

When the old-timer is done talking follow the Grunt guards down the hallway.
You're given a choice between a Spew, Control Tether, Ripper, and a Scatter
Blaster. (I will cover the Spew and Control Tether walkthroughs since they are
the two recommended weapons.) If you go back and push the old-timer out into
the hallway, you can get him shot up and then collect his Cleaner grenade.
It’s up to you. Either way head through the open doorway and wait for your
moment to enter the arena. I cover the Spew and Control Tethers, the other two
weapons aren't recommended for this battle.

Spew strategy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you get out to the arena blast the two crafts floating in the sky, and
collect the secret chip that one of the two will drop. Collect the secret chip
and whatever else falls down. Eventually a cutscene will play and two Titans
will enter the arena.
For the battle, take out the flying Troopers first. You can do this by
carefully shooting them with the Spew and taking cover while you reload. To
save ammo, you can try luring towards the various traps on the walls and
shooting the bull’s-eye above them when the Trooper is close. You're going to
need the Coring Charges that area straight ahead as you enter the area, so get
those and set your sights on the Titans (if you need ammo or health run in
between the various piles of ruble). Next, focus on the Titans one-by-one. If
you have the Cleaner you should use it on both first, then start using the
coring charges. Keep tossing them until you run out, then use your Spew.
Control Tether strategy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting the secret chip while using the Control Tether is somewhat tricky.
What you want to do first is get the EMP from the back left area of the arena
that's under a V-shaped piece of concrete. Quickly find a Titan and toss the
EMP as you run towards it. Now rush behind it as it's stunned and use the
Control Tether. DO NOT shoot the other Titan! Instead, shoot the flying
Troopers that will attack and then look to the skies. See the two black things
floating in the air? Shoot both of them down while in control of this first
Titan. Once you shoot them down commit suicide by standing near the spikes on
the wall and shooting the bull’s-eye above it. With control of Glitch again,
run to both sides of the arena where the floating crafts were and look for the
secret chip that one of them dropped. Collect it and focus on the last enemy
left: a Titan. All you have to do is run behind him with the Control Tether
and grab control. Finally, make this Titan commit suicide to complete the
battle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.34 | Coliseum: Round Two
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Unavailable.

This is basically the same deal as last level. The Spew and RL are the best
weapons to get. Come out and shoot down the flying thing on the right side.
Collect the secret chip and hop up on the mound towards the wall. Destroy the
Zombiebots as they approach. Scan the arena and destroy any more that you see.
With them out of the way, head down and towards the middle of the arena. Get
the secret chip that's inside the cage. Shoot the Grunts in that usually hang
out in this area. Now focus on the several Guards in the arena. Use cover and
grenades. As usual, if you need health be sure to pick some up. With all
enemies eliminated, you remain victorious.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.35 | Coliseum: Last Bot Standing
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Unavailable.

When you get out to the arena collect the Coring Charges ahead and shoot down
booth flying things. The one on the left has a secret chip, but shooting down
the one on the right usually takes out a bunch of Mils so it's okay. Run
around the arena throwing and flinging grenades at your enemies. When the
Grunts are gone, take out the lone Predator in the sky to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.36 | Coliseum: Fall to Pieces
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Unavailable.

Gee, no wonder the old-timer said that no one has ever survived General
Corrosive -- you’re not given a friggin’ weapon! But fear not, it's easier
than you think.

When you get to the arena, quickly dash to the back right and look for a glass-
enclosed box. Stand behind it and pick the Wrench when Corrosive breaks it
with his attack. Run under one of the little shelters in the level (they have
three entrances). Use your Wrench while under it. Corrosive will smash it,
thinking he's won...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.37 | Wastelands: Race to the Rocket
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Race to the Rocket and stow aboard before it launches.

Quickly collect your weapons and pickups, then hop into the driver seat of the
RAT and ram it through the gate. Haul major ass throughout the path, dodging
rocks, explosives, and driving through the gates.

When you come to the dead end, Glitch automatically hops out. Run into the
building on the right and blast the two Grunts. Pick up the secret chip then
head through the doorway on the left. Blast the Grunts ahead, making a right
just before other RAT ahead. The second secret chip is dead ahead, between two
tanks. Make left here and through the doorway. Run out to the RAT. If you're
making good time you should have about 2 minutes left on the clock.

I said haul ass before... now you must haul *major* ass. Do not stop for
anything and do your best not to wreck at all. Eventually you'll get through
the gate for a cutscene, ending the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.38 | Mil Space Station: One Small Step
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Find a way to get by the force field.

NOTE: For this walkthrough's sake, I will refer the force field area as the
front and the open bay (outer space) as the back. The other sides are a given.

While on the ship step up to the ledge in front of you. Turn around and walk
up the spike that goes up towards the back (I guess you could say it's the
ship's fin/flipper). While on the back jump to the ledge over to the left, in
the rafters. Take the path down, jump through the opening and over to the
other side. On the front wall you should see a secret chip. Get it then fall
all the way down to the ground level.

On the right side of the hangar is a pit, which is directly under the ship.
Get the secret chip that's hidden in one of the cut-offs of the pit. While
still on the right side look for a lift towards the back. Step on the lift to
send it up but back off and get the secret chip that's under the lift itself.
When the lift comes back down take it up and destroy the Titan and Scientist
that's up here. Hit the switch on the other side. This moves the big magnet
over the force field. While still up here by the switch, equip your RL or
Slingshot to knock the magnet down, crashing onto the force field and
eliminating part of it. A few comes out the doorway to the right and below.
Blast them and get the secret chip inside of here.

Head over to the now damaged force field and destroy the Scientist as you go
through the door that's over here. As you round the corner blast the Titan. Go
further down and into a smaller hangar where the Barter Droids are. Buy
whatever you want and then get on the Loader. Come out and you'll be faced
with a tough battle. I recommend waiting in the hangar where the Barter Droids
are for at least until you've safely taken out a few Mils. Come out and finish
the rest off. There's a Titan on the left side wall of the hangar. Your best
bet for this one is to take control of the Mil that's inside the first ship
(the one you start on) and use it to destroy this Titan.

With this Titan destroyed, drive the Loader to the mid-section of the left
wall (it's your right as you come from the Barter Droids). Look for a small
blue crate stacked on top of a bigger red crate. Park your loader by this
stack, get out and out top, and then jump onto the boxes. Once atop the left
wall, head towards the back of the hangar where the open bay is. You will see
energy straight ahead. Come out onto this ledge. Now maneuver along these
ledges until you see a Mil standing around. Blast it, collect the secret chip,
and jump through the opening further up to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.39 | Mil Space Station: Fully Operational
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Search the Space Station for Zobby and Dr. Exavolt.

Make a right and buy whatever you want from the Barter Droids. I find that the
Scatter Blaster comes in handy on this level, so you may want to buy the 50
rounds they have. Head down the opposite end of this hallway, destroying the
mounted gun above the doorway. Blast the three or so Mils on the other side of
this doorway. When you come to this split up room that has separate sides,
fall into the center via the openings in the glass windows. Use the jump pad
that's in this center to reach the other half on the side you were just on. Up
here, head across the bridge, turn right. This is all the while blasting any
and every thing that moves.

When you see the green light in the corner go around the wall and collect the
secret chip. Now shoot the gun above the doorway then head through. As you
round this light up hallway, blast the Mils straight ahead. Advance a bit and
shoot each mounted gun on both sides. Shoot the computers if you want a few
extra washers. (Proceed through the halls, and if you see the Troopers hanging
from the ceiling be sure to move to the left side and Tether it.) Go through
the door straight ahead. You may want to use your RL for this next hallway
since there are two Scientists amongst the four Mils. When you're finished,
proceed forward into a square room where you need to destroy all of the Mils.
When you finish them off, collect the Rivet and Spew ammo out of the alcoves,
shoot the computers for some washers, and whatever EMP Grenade you see lying
around. Head through the next door.

This area has curved tubes with green liquid flowing through them. First take
out the two Grunts by the doorway. Then take out the three mounted guns in
this room. From the entrance there's one straight-ahead, one on the other
side, and one to the left on the ceiling. Now head across to the other side of
this big room. Look behind some dark pipes and you should see a secret chip.
Now drop to the bottom and destroy any enemies you see. Wait for a flying Mil
to come out of the replicator machines. Stun it with an EMP and then take
control of it with your Control Tether. Fly up to the platforms above and to
the center where the lift control is. Activate the switch to bring the lift
down to the lower level. Destroy this Mil that you're in control of. Get on
the lift with Glitch and head across through the door. Blast the Grunt and
head through to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.40 | Mil Space Station: Bring it Down
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: Find the Master Mil Control console and shut down the Mils.

This level is strictly run-n-gun unless you feel the need to stop and/or waste
ammo. Just keep running and only focus on the Mils that get in your way and
are vital to beating the level.

Area 1 is simple. Run out and under the bridge. Head around the hole and to
the back. Go through either of the two green doors into the back hallway.
Blast both Grunts and collect the chip that one of them drops. Go back outside
and use the chip on the red door that's on the right side. Collect the health,
Spew pickups in this hallway, and head out to the next area.

Area 2 is tougher, expectedly. But we wouldn't have it any other way! Run
forward around the hole, and shoot the guns under the bridge if you must.
Round the corner to the left, running fast to avoid the Titan. Eventually you
will see a dip into a pit. Take the ramp down into it and use the jump pad to
get onto a bridge. Activate the control panel that's up here to release the
force field below. Mortars appear with this. Blast them and head through the
door in between. Like before, collecting the pickups and moving to the next
area.

In area 3, run forward along the right wall. Make a right and, as you do, try
to avoid the Titan by not letting it see you. Go through the door over here
and shoot the two Grunts that come out. Take out the gun on the ceiling and
the two Grunts off to the right. Head along the hallway and out to the other
side of the force field. This section is hectic. Take out the flying Mils and
all other enemies on this side. Look for a doorway on the left, just past the
force field. Take the lift up to the bridge and cross it. Follow the hallway
to the next area, destroying the enemies in your way.

You come out to a big area where a platform is in front of you and the rest of
the level below you. If you're going for the speed chip, you want to QUICKLY
jump off to the right side and run straight back. Fire as many shots at the
Titan during this period. Go into the green doorway back here to complete the
level. If want to do this right, fall off the platform near the door and
Tether the Trooper that usually hangs below the platform. Use it to first take
out the Titan(s) and the rest of the Mils. If you want a chance to see what
the Speed Boost is like, blow open the crates on both sides of this area.
They're used for getting up on the high ledges. When you're done collecting
stuff go to the lift in the back right corner to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.41 | Mil Space Station: General Corrosive
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: General Corrosive's armor makes him invincible to weapon fire. Find
another way to stop him.

You need to collect 4 chips to operate the computer. Four is all you need, all
of which you can find on the ground level. Blow the crates up around the areas
displayed in this diagram below.

    (B)C
    .----[ RED ]----.
   /C C \ KEY:
  | | S = Starting point
  | C.--. | C = Chip (for computer)
  | ( ) | B = Barter Droids
  | '--' | GREEN = Green side
  | | RED = Red side (lifts)
   \ C /
    '----[GREEN]-. |
                  |S|
                  '-'

[You do NOT need to buy the fifth chip off the Barter Droids, but if you still
want to and/or you just want to get to them, skip to the last paragraph of
this level's walkthrough. If you're only about defeating Corrosive then go to
the next paragraph.]

After you have at least four chips come back down and hit any of the jump pads
in the center of the arena (do not move your analog stick and it should take
you to the very top where the computers are). While up here go into the glass-
enclosed control room and use the chips, one-by-one, on the computer.

You now have control of Corrosive himself. Activate the computer with your
four chips. Now that you're controlling Corrosive, all you have to do is fight
off the enemies for 5 of the 10 minutes. Use your primary weapon since they're
heat-seeking rockets. Eventually, Agent Shhh will send you a transmission.
Activate the big green control panel. Now lose control of Corrosive by holding
the necessary button down for a few seconds. Level complete.

Barter Droids - Fifth Chip
--------------------------
The fifth, off-map has to be bought from the Barter Droids. You do NOT need
this chip, but to get it go towards the center of the map and hit a jump pad
up to the top. Look for a bridge (that isn't broken) below and jump down to
it. Cross it, look for the side with the RED machine, and go towards it (not
the green side). When you go over to it fall onto one of the lifts after it
lowers below your ledge. Take it to the top and jump to the ledge as you get
up. Use to the ledge to maneuver your way to the Barter Droids up here. Buy
the fifth chip that's in the right slot for 150 washers. Go up two paragraphs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.42 | Wastelands: Final Battle
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objective: General Corrosive's armor has been damaged in the crash. Take
advantage of it to bring down the General for good.

[If you don't want the secret chips skip to the next paragraph.] Before I get
into the walkthrough, I'm going to give you the secret chip locations. 1) East
of your start point, on top of a crate behind some ruble. 2) Far back wall
(northeast) behind an elbow pipe. 3) West and north of your start point. It's
on the tip of the rocket. I jumped onto the fin closest to the beams, double
jumped onto the beams, and on top of the rocket. It's hard as hell to get and
will require some practice. 4) Northeast of you, on the tip of cannon. Get the
Speed Boost on the east side, then head over to the cannon. Run up the wall
just right of the cannons. Once you get up here jump onto the cannon to walk
out and get the secret chip.

Now it's a matter of destroying that big hunk of junk. It's basic really. Find
some small piece of shrapnel that you can hide behind. Do so and fire your
rockets (or whatever at it). The shrapnel will stop Corrosive from trying to
stomp you with his foot. Keep shooting at him and his body will start falling
apart. Do about double of this and he'll blow up, completing the game.

TIPS:
- Circle the arena. Health and items regenerate, so it's best if you come back
later if you need a particular item. Just give it some time to regenerate.
- Use ruble as cover. The pipes, block, and whatnot provide excellent cover
from Corrosive's weaponry.
- Use Recruiter grenades on stray Mils that Corrosive sends on you. They will
in turn attack Corrosive.

Congratulations on beating Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Be sure to check
out the Original Concept Movie by loading your profile after beating the game!

###############################################################################
  5 ) WEAPONS & PICKUPS
###############################################################################

This section details weapons, vehicles, and various other items that can be
had at some point in the game. Most of these things are also available in
multiplayer mode.

Weapons and other items can be bought from the Barter Droids. The local
currency is washers -- collect the washers (and gold washers) found throughout
the levels and spend them when you see the Barter Droids. You can't go
shopping on every level so it’s wise to save up for weapons and upgrades that
are worth the asking price since most weapons are given to you free on certain
levels.

This weapon list doesn't detail ammo increases since the clip size is
increased pretty much every time an upgrade kit is used.

Weapons
-------

All descriptions pertain to level 1. Level 2 and 3 info comes after the
paragraph.

Control Tether:
One of the most innovative things seen in videogames in a while, the Control
Tether allows Glitch to control Mils. Simply find their control port -- or D-
Port -- (in the back usually) and aim. If the Mil can be taken over, you will
get a green icon on screen. (Note: Shielded Mils cannot be taken over.) Shoot
it and you'll have control of the Mil. Be warned that if you go out of range
or lose control of the Mil it will still fire upon you if it sees you. So it
is best to commit suicide with the Mil after it's served its purpose.
Level 2: Faster lock-on, increased enemy damage.
Level 3: Faster lock-on, increased enemy damage.

Empty Hand:
The empty hand is primarily for melee combat only. In other words, if you run
out of ammo swipe your enemies with your hands. This is a last-ditch effort.
Level 2: "Arms Servo Upgrade" allows faster switching and reloading.

Mining Laser:
Glitch's trusty weapon, the mining laser is very weak. It shoots at a rapid
rate and has infinite ammo. However, when the gauge runs out it takes a while
to fully recharge. This is a big disadvantage for when you're fighting many
enemies at once. Only recommend for saving ammo on enemies. Can be upgraded.
Level 2: Charge shot (slowly pull trigger and it will charge).
Level 3: Dual barrels for double the damage.

S.P.E.W. Gun:
The Spew is your typical machine gun (or gattling gun for a better term). It's
automatic and fires at a high rate. It's powerful but the disadvantages are
that it runs out quickly and its accuracy isn't the greatest. Can be upgraded.
Level 2: Increased accuracy and damage.
Level 3: Increased accuracy and damage.

Ripper:
This gun shoots out sharp blades at a speed that allows it to cut through
steel wires. It's not very useful except for the mentioned use because of its
slow fire rate. In addition, if you want, shooting off parts and limbs of your
enemies works but it's time consuming. Can be upgraded.
Level 2: Fully automatic, increased limb damage.
Level 3: Spins after hitting target causing more damage.

Scatter Blaster:
This is the equivalent of a modern-day shotgun. It shoots out a burst of
material that is very strong at a close range and weaker at a longer. This is
great in close-quarters combat where you must deal with a few enemies. Be
warned that it must be pump several times before you can fire it, leaving you
open for attack. Can be upgraded.
Level 2: Second barrel gives double the power.
Level 3: Fully automatic for massive infliction of damage.

Rocket Launcher:
It's what you'd expect from such a weapon: fires a single rocket that explodes
on impact. The blast radius is large enough to destroy a small group of normal
enemies. Can be upgraded.
  Level 2: Increased damage.
Level 3: Rocket splits into four, increasing damage.

Rivet Gun:
This shoots an arrow that bores into the enemy's body. By default this weapon
is upgraded for your enemies so it will explode moments after hitting you, so
be careful. This is an excellent weapon for sniping. Can be upgraded.
Level 2: Explodes moments after piercing.
Level 3: Super heating -- press trigger and hold, release to explode.

Scope:
Use in conjunction with a weapon, the scope allows you to zoom in on your
enemies and see vital information about them. You have to equip it from your
item menu (left side). The scope will not work with all weapons, and if it
doesn't the crosshair icon will flash red.
Level 2: 8x zoom and improved accuracy for compatible weapons.

Slingshot:
This is used in conjunction with a secondary weapon such as grenades. All
types of grenades can be use in conjunction with this, but they must be
equipped as your secondary or else it won't work. Use to the tip of your
antenna to aim your shot.

Toaster:
A flame-thrower of sorts, the toaster has a flame to be reckoned with. Only
recommended for weaker enemies with no shield around them.

Turrets:
You don't actually pick these up, but the stationary turrets are found in
various levels (mostly in Droid towns). Stand by them and press the
appropriate button to get inside. Then fire away. There's infinite ammo with
all Turrets but note that they can be destroyed.

Grenades
--------

Cleaner:
A deadly grenade, it can target (up to) 3 enemies and fire guided rockets at
them. With the Cleaner equipped, hold the secondary fire button and focus on
up to three targets. Then release secondary fire to throw Cleaner, and let the
game do the rest.

Coring Charge:
This is a grenade used for blowing up objects and enemies. Used effectively
you can take out large groups of enemies. Careful, though, since it can easily
kill you and your Droid comrades.

EMP Grenade:
When used near an enemy, it disrupts their circuits and powers them down for a
few moments. Useful for disabling Titans and Tethering them.

Magma Bomb:
Similar to Napalm, the Magma Bomb lets out a burst of flame as it explodes,
leaving your enemies in flaming agony.

Recruiter Grenade:
When equipped an icon appears about the heads of certain Mils. When tossed,
this badboy gives you the ability to recruit nearby enemy Mils! It does this
by reprogramming them. Purple icon: Mil can be recruited. Yellow icon: Mil is
already recruited.

Items
-----

Arms Servo Upgrade:
This nifty upgrade for Glitch's arms allows for faster weapon switching and
even reloading on some weapons.

Battery:
These increase your maximum life capacity by 1 bar. There are 5 extra
batteries found throughout the game.

Chip:
The standard blue chips are used to gain access to computer for unlocking
doors and controlling Mils at certain points. There aren’t a whole lot of them
in the game but that’s because their use is very deliberate.

Det-Pack:
These are given during specific objectives. Pick them up and plant them on
whatever the game wants you to blow up (i.e. walls).

Equipment Upgrade Kit (EUK):
This is a generic term for the various kits you get throughout the game. Some
are given to you and some are bought. w
Energy:
Increases Glitch's health by approximately 1 bar.

Fire Buddy:
When you pick it up, the fire buddy fires the same ammo for just about any
weapon that you're using, giving you double the firepower. Only lasts for a
limited amount of time. The icon is a spherical cage with a bee inside.

Jumping Boost:
This Morbot artifact does exactly that: increases Glitch's jumping ability,
and by a great amount.

Mega Energy:
Restores full health, no matter what your maximum capacity is at.

Secret Chip:
These yellow chips are found throughout the levels in the game and they unlock
multiplayer maps (and General Corrosive for play in multiplayer). The more
secret chips you get the more maps you will unlock. There are a total of 104
secret chips to collect, including speed chips, bringing the total to 143
secret chips to be had.

Shield:
The triangle thing with spikes sticking out, the shield makes you invincible
from enemy attacks for 25 seconds.

Speed Boost:
This Morbot Artifact makes you go twice your normal speed on foot. In
addition, it seems to give Glitch a magnetic pull for easier Washer
collecting. The icon is an aquatic blue circle.

Speed Chips:
These are the bonus chips you get for completing a level/difficulty under a
set amount of time, and they go towards your Secret Chips total. Refer to
the "Speed Chip Times" section for a complete listing.

Washers:
Use these to buy goods from the Barter Droids. They're the currency.

Washers (Gold):
These are harder to find but are worth getting. They're equal to 25 normal
washers.

Wrench:
The Wrench has one purpose only. It's for dismantling Glitch. When activated,
Glitch will fall to pieces. This comes in handy in later parts of the game and
is necessary to passing a certain area.

Vehicles
--------

RAT (Rapid Armor Transport):
The RAT is the red armored vehicle with a turret on top. It has three wheels
on each side and can climb steep hills thanks to them. To drive it you must
stand near the front and access it. To use the turret you must get to the back
of it when accessing.

Sentinel:
While relatively slow, the Sentinel is a great vehicle because it's heavily
armored it has a rocket and machine gun combo. The best part is that you can
use them both while driving, something which makes the Sentinel superior
vehicle in multiplayer.

Loader:
This is the yellow, speedy round vehicle with the claws on the front. Grab
your enemies with the claw and shoot them with the machine gun. Be warned,
you're an open target if your enemy is behind you. Avoid sniper areas also.

Story Characters
----------------

Agent Shhh:
In the Droid resistance there has to be some secrecy and Agent Shhh
(appropriately name) realize that. Rendezvous with Shhh when the time comes.

Agent Goff:
Yet another agent looking to help the Droid rebellion. Goff can't seem to hold
himself together.

Barter Droids:
Named Shady and Mr. Pockets, the Barter Droids are the traveling store that
you wish you had in real life. They are a source for weapons, upgrades, and
various other trinkets needed to aid the Droid rebellion.

Droids:
These are the good guys whom Glitch and the other yellow guys are apart of.

Colonel Alloy:
He's your guide throughout the game. He dispatches you and gives you
information on the situation. Colonel Alloy is rough on his soldiers but it's
for the good in the end.

Dr. Exavolt:
Former scientist for the Droids, Exavolt hasn't been scene his lab blew up
during an experiment gone wrong. As a result of this botched experiment,
General Corrosive is created.

General Corrosive:
The main bad guy, General Corrosive is aiming for Droid territory. Your job is
to stop him before it's too late.

Glitch:
You play as this character. The Droids found Glitch during the Droid
Rebellion. He was repaired and then recruited into the Droid army. Glitch is
to stop General Corrosive and help the enslaved Droids.

Hosed:
One of your fellow Droids. He is here to serve and protect for the Droid
resistance.

Mozer:
Mozer is a big Droid intent on stopping the Mils. At a few points, you get to
control Mozer in the game.

Screwed:
Like Hosed, Screwed helps you in the fight against the Mil army.

Slosh:
Another robot fighting for the Droid cause, Slosh is the very nervous Droid
with a Toaster flamethrower.

Enemies (Mils)
--------------

Grunt:
These are you basic enemies in MA. They're quipped a single weapon and don't
do much damage. However, some Grunts are equipped with more powerful weapons
in the latter parts of the game. Description: Roughly the size of human, the
Grunts walk on two legs and come in several different colors. This includes --
but not limited to -- red, maroon, and orange.

Guard (a.k.a. Elite Grunt):
Stronger and faster, guards are not easily defeated. They have a better
arsenal than the Grunts and they're not as apt to hide from you as a Grunt is.
Description: Maroon with touches of silver on their bodies. They're fast and
attack with an axe.

Leech:
These things remind of Sonic The Hedgehog because if they manage to suck you
in you'll lose washers as they spit you out. Do not let them get close because
their spinning blades cause damage. Rockets work well.

Mil:
All enemies in the game. I use this generic term many times in the walkthrough
because often you face more than one type of Mil at a time. Description: The
size of Glitch with a small lower body with various colors depending on what
weapon they're using.

Predator:
These are the flying things with four arms -- two on each side. They will tear
you a new hole if you're not careful. Hide from them while not shoot and use
rivets or rippers to tear their arms off. Finish them off with rockets.

Scientist:
Mainly dealing with computers in the hi-tech sectors of the game, scientists
don't like to be bothered by a meddling Droid. Description: To me they look
like wizards. They will shock you with their electricity if you get close
enough.

Scout:
Best described as the watchdog of this game. They'll sound alarms but can
easily be defeated. But watch since the alarm can bring stronger Mils towards
you. Description: Distinct track wheels and a light on their head.

Swarmers:
Small spiders that eat away at your energy. Don't not stop for them and use
the Toaster if you need to get them off you. Jumping helps avoid them and
shake them off Glitch.

Titan:
Bad to the bone, Titans are a Droid's worst nightmare. Heavy armor, awesome
weapons, and balls of steel (literally). They will stop at nothing until you
or they are no more. Description: Purple and silver with twin gattling guns.
They fire rockets out of their right shoulder as well.

Trooper:
These are the flying things that you will sometimes see hanging from something
like bats. They don't like to get close but if they do try the Scatter
Blaster. They have very high-speed boosts. Description: Usually purple, with
blades (wings) sticking out of shoulder area. When you take control of them
use the left trigger for a boost.

Turrets:
There are a few different types of turrets in the game. The ceiling turrets
are best dealt with by shoot with a machine gun. The larger turrets (Sentries)
should be taken out with rockets or grenades.

Zombiebot:
Built of scrap metal, the zombiebots are very aggressive with the attack.
Shoot them with the Scatter Blaster and they'll blow apart. Get close -- but
not too close -- and wait for them to reform. As your reticule turns red
immediately shoot, and again if you have to.

  7 ) TRICKS & UNLOCKABLES
###############################################################################

TRICK: Go Up Steep Hills/Ramps (a.k.a. The Jump Trick) :: various levels:
I've discovered a way to get up steep angles that Glitch would normally slide
down. To do this, jump to the slope (not exceeding ~60 degrees or this won't
work). Jump to where Glitch starts sliding while holding the analog stick all
the way towards the slope. Now, in rhythm, keep tapping the jump button,
pressing it each time you hit the slope. If timed correctly you should slowly
work your way to the top of the slope. Double jumping and incorrect timing
will cause Glitch to slide down normally.

GLITCH: Barter Droids are Gone :: Level 23 - The Hand is Mightier:
At the beginning if you go directly around the back of the complex nearby the
Barter Droids won't be back there nor will you hear their music. If you go
around the front and to the right, however, they will be back there. It all
depends, though, since it takes a bit of running around to get them to appear
sometimes.

TRICK: Go Through Conveyer Belts :: Level 25 - Unhandled Exception:
This is a forced glitch that you must make happen. First, get to where you are
dismantled by the claw that picks up your body parts. Get the Wrench from the
corner crate. Run towards an opening in the conveyer and right before you hit
into it use your Wrench. Then use it again to reanimate. If timed correctly
you will be under the conveyer when you reanimate. You can do this on the
other conveyers as well.

Unlockables
-----------

Original Concept Movie:
Beat the entire campaign mode. When you've done so, go to the "Launch" menu
and look for it at the bottom of your screen.

General Corrosive in Multiplayer:
There's a lot of speculation as to how you play as Corrosive in multiplayer.
First of all, you can in fact play as him. However, to do so you will first
need to unlock the last level in multiplayer, Corrosive City, via Campaign
mode. This is not an easy task but if you truly want the General Corrosive you
could try going through the game on Easy and earning chips that way. Either
way, after you unlock Corrosive City you must go to the main multiplayer menu
and press the edit button (look at the bottom of the screen to see what button
it is). Press it, go into the edit menu, scroll down to "Only Vehicles", and
press over until "None" is selected. Now, obviously, this disables vehicles in
the level but this is the only way you'll be able to play as General Corrosive
(with vehicles disabled). Accept the changes and choose Corrosive City at the
level select. When the level loads find the jump pads on the one side of the
center complex. Hit either one to be boosted into the center. Next, hit the
one nearby and the next few jump pads until you're up on the catwalk with the
control console. Access the console and you will now have control of General
Corrosive.

Multiplayer Levels:
To unlock multiplayer levels you need to collect secret chips found throughout
the Campaign portion of the game. These include hidden secret chips and speed
chips. Speed chips work like secret chips except they must be gotten by
beating a particular level in a certain amount of time. Check the speed chip
chart found within this guide. Also, the secret chips are covered in the
walkthrough of each level in this guide.

###############################################################################
  8 ) SPEED CHIP TIMES
###############################################################################

The following chart shows the amount of time in which you must beat a level
and difficulty under to earn the Speed Chip. It's recommended that you play
the level normally, getting the Secret Chips on the first run through, then
play it again whilst running through it for the Speed Chip. This way you're
familiar with the level and you won't have to stop for Secret Chips.

###############################################################################
  9 ) MULTIPLAYER
###############################################################################

Metal Arms GitS supports up to four players in an arena setting. A mode that
can be accessed from the main menu. This section is just a basic run-through
of some of the things related to this mode. Most things are already covered in
the manual and the menus tell you about them also, but I'm going to go over a
few other things.

Unlocking Levels
----------------

The majority of multiplayer arenas are locked, for you to open through
Campaign mode. To see how many chips you need to unlock the next level, simple
scroll right at the level select screen and look at the first black-and-white
picture (it will say how many you need). When you unlock one level your goal
is to simply unlock the next.

To unlock multiplayer levels you need to collect secret chips found throughout
the Campaign portion of the game. These include hidden secret chips and speed
chips. Speed chips work just like secret chips except they must be gotten by
beating a particular level in a certain amount of time. Check the speed chip
chart found within this guide. Also, the secret chips are covered in the
walkthrough of each level in this guide.

Setting Up
----------

"Choose Game Type":
First choose the game type that you want to play under. As you cycle through
each type, the description box at the bottom of the screen will change. This
box tells you the premise of each game.

"Play Mode":
Team and individual are your two choices. Individual is every Droid for
himself.

If you chose Team as your mode of play, the next screen will be for picking
teams. Use the legend located at the bottom of the screen to pick sides.

The final screen is the level select screen. Scroll over through the levels
and if a level is locked you cannot play it. After picking a level it will
load up and then the game will start.

Editing Games
-------------

At the bottom of the Game Type screen is a legend that shows which button to
press to edit the game rules. After this you're shown a save warning, usually.

From here you can set the time limit, weapons, vehicles, and numerous other
things.

Practicing With Bots
--------------------

You can't play against bots in the normal fashion (e.g. Duke Nukem 64, Perfect
Dark) but you can turn them on so that you can practice with them. In other
words, they will attack you but no score is counted for killing them or vice
versa. To actively place them in the game, first go to the edit game screen
(refer to "Editing Games" above).

Now scroll down and make sure the "Possessable Bots" option is turned "On".
The next option, "Bot State When Not Tethered" option should also be turned
to "On". With these two settings on you can play against bots and even Tether
them for use against your friends.

Playing As General Corrosive
----------------------------

There's a lot of speculation as to how you play as Corrosive in multiplayer.
First of all, you can in fact play as him in multiplayer. But to do so you
will first need to unlock a certain map in multiplayer, Corrosive City, via
the Campaign mode. This is not an easy task but if you truly want the General
Corrosive you could try going through the game on Easy and earning chips that
way. Either way, after you unlock Corrosive City you must go to the main
multiplayer menu and press the edit button (look at the bottom of the screen
to see what button it is). Press it, go into the edit menu, scroll down
to "Only Vehicles", and press over until "None" is selected. Now, obviously,
this disables vehicles in the level but this is the only way you'll be able to
play as General Corrosive (with vehicles disabled). Accept the changes and
choose Corrosive City at the level select. When the level loads find the jump
pads on the one side of the center complex. Hit either one to be boosted into
the center. Next, hit the one nearby and the next few jump pads until you're
up on the catwalk with the control console. Access the console and you will
now have control of General Corrosive.

Vehicles Details
----------------

RAT (Rapid Armor Transport):
The RAT is the red armored vehicle with a turret on top. It has three wheels
on each side and can climb steep hills as a result. To drive it you must stand
near the front and access it. To use the turret you must get to the back of it
when accessing.

Map Descriptions
----------------

 * All map descriptions are based on default setup.

** Note: It has been brought to my attention that the PS2 version has an extra
level, called Mac Mines, that the Xbox version doesn't have. This changes
the exact chip requirements between the games, and for that reason no chip
requirement is shown. And besides, you can see how many chips you need at
the map selection screen. As for the GameCube version, I don't know.

Big E's House:
The largest part of this (mainly) indoor map is hallowed cylinder with ramps
spiraling inside, leading to four doorways that take you outside to a
waterfall. One Titan is on the main platform by the waterfall and the other is
placed at the bottom of the cylinder with some pickups. Also in this cylinder
a lift that takes you up to a Trooper and a zipline that leads to a turret for
you to control. You must jump out to the zipline to grab hold. A shield is on
a narrow ledge after crossing the bridge above the water.

Mil Factory:
This indoor map's arching doorways remind me of my Quake III days. There's two
levels to this map: The bottom is where most of the recruitable Grunts are and
the tops level is mostly narrow pathways that area excellent for an in-and-out
offense. There a few recruiter grenade spots. Use the jump pads to your
advantage -- recruit Grunts and let them stay on the Ground while you jump to
the top and shoot from above.

Tanks A Lot:
This urban-set outdoor map is excellent for honing your assault skills.
There's a Sentinel up the middle street, one up left, and a third next to the
tower. At the top of the right street is a Loader but it doesn’t have the
firepower to effectively stop the Sentinels. If you can, use the Titans found
on the ledges as a counter-measure to the Sentinels. There's also one in the
corner across from the left building's front. If you need to hide, you can do
so in the left building and in between the conveyer belts are some pickups.
The tower is excellent for sniping but don't be caught in it. The ledges are
good to use when not playing with Sentinels and there's even a cool little lip
on the left building at the bottom.

Last Minute Effort:
Based off 'You Know The Drill' this indoor industrial map is very deadly.
There’s a pit in the center with scaffolding above. On the catwalks is a bunch
of health and weapon pickups along with a recruiter. The recruitable enemies
are on the outskirts of the level, at the tops. Use the jump pads to get to
them if you want. The Loader can be used to dominate the bottom area. If you
need cover from the Predators or Troopers hide in the pipes nearby.

Mac Attack:
This is a very small indoor map with a pit of ore at the bottom. The platforms
wind around the machine in the center, and to the bottom where a Guard is
awaiting. If you Tether the Guard be careful not to fall into the ore since it
moves fast. The Recruiter is in an alcove just past the second Guard near the
top. You can jump on top of the machine and drop down for a weapon and another
Recruiter.

Old Droid Canyon:
This dogleg map set in a pseudo Droid Town is excellent for sniping. Hit a
jump pad and equip the Rivet gun whenever you can. The Mils are placed up high
and Sentinels are on the ground. The big base can be reached by using the jump
pad on the left in front of it.

The Trenches:
This setting is the later half of 'Into The Trenches'. The walls are blown out
and there are rocks every... So there’s a lot of looking around to do. If you
think your opponent is on the other side of the map try jumping to a rock and
looking around. Try to stay out of the trenches unless you need pickups.
Recruiters are found in several places, as are Titans. The high towers are
great for escaping almost all forms of attack. If you're playing with 3-4
players then using the turret isn't a bad idea.

Matt's Big Gun Fun:
What is probably considered the best map in the game, MBGF is certainly a huge
outdoor map! It's section off into three areas separated by gates with
catwalks above. The center is where most of the action occurs because it is
the largest area containing a RAT and a Titan at the bases opposite to one
another. There are turrets to be manned in the left and right sections.
Recruiters can be found in the very center of the map and Speed Boosts are in
a few places.

Morbot Land:
The consistent theme of this level is to use dark purple and blue colors.
There's a blue-lit base and a purple-lit base. You can teleport to the blue
base by dropping into the hole near the RAT (there's a Recruiter up here).
Also over here is a tunnel that goes through the purple building and out to a
second Loader. The Titan is on the ledge and nearby that is a jump pad that
launches you to a floating platform. Use the back launch pad to get to the
Trooper and straight ahead is a Sentinel tank.

The Reactor Factor:
Purple as ever, this level consists of two areas, which long tubes connecting
them. The room with the swirling cylinder on the ceiling doesn't serve much
purpose other than having the pickups in the center. The other room has a
glowing purple floor below -- this is a trap. When your opponent is at the
bottom step on the pink hologram above to drop out the floor. A Trooper is up
here also.

DMA Death Sphere:
Much like Reactor Factor, this map is very, *very* purple in color. In fact,
it looks somewhat cool might I add. There are three independent, spinning
platforms. The jump pads will take you to the very top but if you look to the
walls, you will see doorways. When these line up with the small platforms you
can jump out to collect the pickups. At the very bottom of the level are some
Jump Boosts and a Trooper.

Ruins:
Ruins is the only Wastelands-themed map in multiplayer, and it's a very good
one at that. The main path forms a square with some Mils and pickups thrown in
for good measure. You can go up inside the building that the turret is in
front of. It is highly recommended that you recruit and/or control some Mils
as quickly as possible in this level. The map is so small that there really
isn't any other way to play it.

The Coliseum:
If you beat the singleplayer mode then you really don't need me to explain
this map, though I will. It's a carbon copy of its singleplayer counterpart,
themed after the Roman coliseums long ago. Run up the ruble near the Guard and
Tether it. Shoot the bull’s eye to activate the traps on the walls.

Corrosive City:
This is a square-shaped level with jump pads that lead up to a control console
in the center. Turn vehicles off and access this console to play a General
Corrosive. The game encourages you to Tether the Troopers in the corners and
the Titan in the center. You can get on the very top of one of the towers by
dropping from the building ledge (spawn) and onto the purple sign and jumping
across.

 10 ) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
###############################################################################

Q: How do I play as General Corrosive in multiplayer?
A: Check the Multiplayer or Glitches & Tricks sections.

Q: Are there any Metal Arms fansite on the net?
A: At the time of this writing, there are two fansites but they're incomplete
and extremely malnourished. Why don't you create one?

Q: What's the difference between the three different chips?
A: -Regular chip (a.k.a. "chip"): Blue, used to access computers. Not special.
-Secret chip: Yellow, found in levels and are used to unlock stuff (for
    multiplayer).
-Speed chip: Yellow, gotten by beating a level under a pre-set amount of
time. (Refer to the previous section for times.) Essentially, speed chips
ARE secret chips because they go towards your secret chips amount, which
    unlocks stuff.

Q: What is this V-Sync tearing that I keep reading about?
A: It's when you rotate (your character) fast and you see a horizontal
line across the screen that looks like a "tear" in it. It's minor and is of
miniscule importance to me. If you're bothered by it seek professional help
as it was done so that quality gameplay would not be sacrificed.

Q: Can I get in first-person mode without having to use the scope?
A: No.

Q: Is there a Metal Arms soundtrack available?
A: While I'm not sure if there was one for retail sale, Sierra did release a
link to a download of the full soundtrack (MP3 format). Try going to the
   following link:
             http://www.sierra.com/downloadfile.do?mediaid=8949

Q: What is the original concept movie?
A: It's a demonstration video that Swingin' Ape made and displayed at an E3
event a few years before MA was released. Basically, it was an early build
of the game that was used to impress potential publishers. SPOILER: It
shows some Droids pouring into some type of industrial building and posting
up behind some beams. One Droids pokes his head out only to have it shot
off. An early rendition of Mozer seems to be in the video as well.

Q: Will there be a sequel to Glitch in the System?
A: At this point, no. Just today (3/30/2004) a news posting confirmed that
Swingin' Ape has no plans for a sequel *at this time*, but possibly in the
future. Right now SA is looking into new game projects. Update: Swingin' Ape
is taking over the Starcraft: Ghost project for Blizzard and VU.

History
-------
v1.22 : Apr. 24, 2005 - PS2 controls added.

v1.21 : Apr. 04, 2005 - GameCube controls added. Now PS2 is only needed

v1.20 : Feb. 01, 2005 - Lots and lots of new stuff included. All chips are in
the walkthrough, all batteries are recognized in the walkthrough, weapon &
item section completely revamped, new strategies added to walkthrough, a small
multiplayer section added, General Corrosive in MP detailed, as well as a
bunch of other things such as tips and whatnot. This is my last *planned*
update. My apologies for taking so long on this one. If anyone has a
submission please don't be shy with it. :) Also, I may do a Speed Chip
walkthrough in the future.

v1.09 : Mar. 30, 2004 - Speed Chip chart complete thanks to Skrying who sent
me the remaining six levels I needed. I also swapped the Corrosive fight's map
around to the way it should have been displayed. Minor corrections made here
and there. More to follow.

v1.04 : Mar. 17, 2004 - Fifth chip with battle of Corrosive (41) added. I got
tons of e-mails about how people didn't have enough washers to buy the one
from the Barter Droids. Thanks to the boards, I found that you don't need
to!... I also changed "Berserkers" back to "Zombiebots" since the Metal Arms
production site refers to them as latter.

v1.01 : Feb. 21, 2004 - A little bit of proofreading done. Corrections made.
Bits of stuff added as well.

v1.00 : Feb. 13, 2004 - Walkthrough completed. First public release set.

vBETA : Jan. 07, 2004 - Metal Arms guide started.
