In my main FAQ (that's the King of Colosseum Red Disc FAQ/Movelist) this section almost took off a half of the file size! It started looking ridiculous having an entire chapter half the size of the FAQ, so I have decided to split that section off into a separate file altogether, and thus this little Wrestler Edit FAQ is born. Note that this FAQ only details the first two modes of Edit Mode - the Free Edit Menu, which allows you to create a new wrestler and the Main Wrestler Edit which let's you edit almost every aspect of the wrestlers in the game. Both are pretty much the same in most options. __________________________________________________________________________ | ______________________________| \_ B. MAIN FREE / MAIN WRESTLER EDIT MENU_/ Enter the Edit Mode and you'll see a whole mess of Japanese menus. This FAQ contains info on the first two menus, Free Edit and Main Wrestler Edit. Free Edit allows you to create up to 100 extra wrestlers to add into the game, while Main Wrestler Edit allows you to change any aspect of the wrestlers already in the game. The two menus are basically the same :- FREE EDIT ========= NAME -> Give your wrestler a name SELECT MODEL WRESTLER -> Select a wrestler you want base your CAW on WRESTLER MAKE -> Change his looks here EDIT SKILL -> Change his skills and abilities EDIT PARAMETER -> Change his physical attributes EDIT MOVES -> Change his movelist EDIT LOGIC -> Changes COM's Logic patterns for this wrestler SAVE/LOAD -> Save/load/delete a wrestler on a memory card EXIT -> All done? Choose this to exit this mode MAIN WRESTLER EDIT ================== RENAME -> Renames a wrestler SELECT MODEL WRESTLER -> Select the wrestler you want to edit WRESTLER MAKE -> Change his looks here EDIT SKILL -> Change his skills and abilities EDIT PARAMETER -> Change his physical attributes EDIT MOVES -> Change his movelist EDIT LOGIC -> Changes COM's Logic patterns for this wrestler UPDATE -> Select top option to update this wrestler EXIT -> All done? Choose this to exit this mode Each of the following sub-menus will be discussed in turn. To exit a sub- menu, press ><. A little prompt will come up with three options. Top one is EXIT AND SAVE CHANGES, second is EXIT BUT DO NOT SAVE CHANGES, and the third is DO NOT EXIT. Incidentally, press /\ here will change a little box near the character info box from NORMAL EDIT to EXTRA EDIT. EXTRA EDIT is basically an entirely different set of moves you can give to your character. Also pressing L1 and R1 will scroll along the four possible costumes for each character. You can also pick which moveset each of the four costumes will use by selecting that costume and pressing /\ to switch between Normal and Extra Edit. Basically, four different costumes and two movelists per character. Neat, no? __________________________________________________________________________ | ________________________________________________| \_C._SUB-MENU_1_-_NAMING_/ Here you'll encounter the text entry screen, which, if you have played Fire Pro Wrestling, you should know plenty about. First four sets of characters are all Japanese Katakana/Hiragana characters. Fifth set are English characters and the last set are symbols. The last option here is Exit. You must choose Exit in order for the game to save the changes you made in naming! To move between menus, as usual, press () to go forward and >< to go back. [] deletes one character. L1 and R1 moves you between different fields :- NICKNAME -> Your wrestlers... nickname. Ahem. LEFT NAME -> This is the name that appears in all the menus RIGHT NAME -> You other name that doesn't always appear CHANGE -> Selects which name, left or right, is your surname CENTER POINT -> You can choose to put a space, no space, "." or "=" between your left and right name Once you're done, select the last option in the left menu to exit and save your changes. __________________________________________________________________________ | _________________________________| \_D._SUB-MENU_2_-_SELECT_MODEL_WRESTLER_/ This one lets you pick whom to model your wrestler after. The game will then load that wrestler's name, appearance, move list and CPU logic onto you Free Edit menu - not that this will overwrite every item you entered previously! Stats and parameters are not loaded. __________________________________________________________________________ | _________________________________________| \_E._SUB-MENU_3_-_WRESTLER_MAKE_/ Here's where you change your wrestler's appearance and entrance costume and music. It's separated into four different menus, which you can change by pressing L1/R1. Use the left analog stick to rotate and zoom to the wrestler you are editing to check the finer details. Note that in most of the clothing menu options, pressing () allows you to change colors. From left to right, the menus are :- BODY -> HEAD - Choose your... well... head. The list of available (and hidden) heads are found in the section below called HEAD LIST -> STANCE - Your idle standing animation -> BODY TYPE - From thin to muscular to fat, all kinds of body shapes -> HEIGHT - How tall you are, from SS/S/M/L/LL -> COSTUME - Which you can choose from Trunks, Karate Gi, Long Pants, Judo Gi, 3/4 Cut Pants, Long pants and belt, Track Suit and Boxing Trunks. The designs and colors, as well as other body wear are in separate menus, so don't start whining about the lack of options just yet! -> GLASSES - give yourself glasses - press () to change its glass and frame colors, as well as how opaque the frame is -> COLORS - The three colors you can set here is the Skin Color, Hair Color, Eye Color and Mask Color (if you're wearing one); note that some hair colors cannot be changed, and even if you do change them, facial hair color usually remains the same. Unique skin colors (blue, green, red, etc...) only appear on Green Disc or Red+Green State. UPPER BODY -> UPPER WEAR - All sorts of T-shirts and body wear right here. This option may or may not be available depending on what costume you picked in the previous menu; also you may press () to change colors -> RIGHT ARM - Choose various elbow pads and armbands, press () to change colors -> LEFT ARM - Same as above, except it's for the left arm -> RIGHT HAND - Choose various wristbands, gloves and taping, press () to change colors -> LEFT HAND - Same as above, except it's for the left hand LOWER BODY -> LOWER WEAR - Change designs and colors of your lower body wear; depending on what costume type you picked the options here will change -> RIGHT KNEE - Slap on a kneepad here, press () to change colors -> LEFT KNEE - Ditto, except it's for the left knee -> FEET - Choose the type and color of your boots ENTRANCE -> HEAD GEAR - Choose what kind of headgear you'll be wearing during your ring entrance; not really much choices here unless you manage to unlock those freaky masks -> BODY GEAR - Choose what kind of body wear you'll be sporting during your ring entrance -> BODY DESIGN - If you had chosen a body gear, you can change colors and designs with this option -> ACCESSORIES - Other miscellaneous items you can carry/wear during your entrance. Spotted a chair? No, you can't use it, sorry -> ANNOUNCE - What will be announced as you enter the ring -> ENTRANCE MUSIC - Plenty of music here for your entrance music. If you haven't noticed, some scores repeat, one normal and one with a (C) next to it. The (C) denotes that the music will come with crowd noises and chants -> PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCE - What the Play-by-play man will call you - some weird names here... -> RING ANNOUNCE - What will be announced as your height, weight and name at the start of the bout - some more weird names here Once you're done with the editing, press >< to exit. In the pop up menu, the top choice is SAVE AND EXIT, second is DO NOT SAVE AND EXIT, and last is DO NOT EXIT. __________________________________________________________________________ | ____________________________________________| \_F._SUB-MENU_4_-_EDIT_SKILL_/ If you've played Fire Pro Wrestling, you should figure at least some of these out by yourself. If you're not familiar, KOC and Fire Pro share the same point system - improving your wrestler in skills and attributes will cost you points, and the amount of points you spend ultimately decide how powerful (or weak) your wrestler is. Now, on with the Edit Skill Menu... - ORGANIZATION - Which organization you belong to, obviously. NOTE: I've had a number of people telling me (I've never encountered it before, luckily) that using this option to switch organizations frequently makes some wrestlers in the game disappear off the roster. Thus far it seems to be only encountered on the Red Disc, and seems to be fixed on the Green Disc. My advice :- use the "Transfer" option instead (that's the in the main edit menu). - WEIGHT CLASS - Ranges from JUNIOR, FREE, HEAVY, SUPER HEAVY (thanks to KANEster) - HOME COUNTRY - Ranges from :- Japan, USA, Canada, Germany, Mexico, England, France, Brazil, Russia, Puerto Rico, India, Sudan, Jordan, Cuba, Finland, Georgia, Holland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, China, South Korea, North Korea, Mongolia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Botswana, South Africa, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, Ukraine, Latvia, Paraguay, Palau, UAE, Unknown - SIZE - Your overall size category. I assume this affects how easy or hard it is to throw you around. A good idea is to set it the same as the height setting in the Body -> Height menu option - HEIGHT - In centimeters; self-explanatory - WEIGHT - In kilograms; also self-explanatory - BIRTH YEAR - Very self-explanatory - BIRTH MONTH - Really really self-explanatory - BIRTH DATE - Do you need to ask? - WRESTLING STYLE - Affects how you wrestle, and how appropriate are the moves you will use. It's in this order (thanks to KANEster and Kilroy42 & Melfina) :- Orthodox Technical Power American High Spot All Round (Lucha + Junior) Genius Revolution Junior Luchadore Heel Mysterious Shooter Fighter Grappler Wrestling Ground Striker Free Fighter Stacie (Gracie) Panther Giant Vicious King's Road Animal Super Man - DEFENSIVE STYLE - Affects how you well you defend against attacks; choices are identical to the WRESTLING STYLE option above - COUNTER STYLE - Affects how your counters will look like; again the same choices as that of WRESTLING STYLE options, but with a few more items at the end. The new items are (thanks to Kilroy42 and Melfina) :- Orthodox 2 Orthodox 3 Technician 2 Technician 3 Power 2 Revolution 2 Luchadore 2 Wrestler Shooter Wrestler Shooter 2 Ground 2 Power 3 Heel Luchadore Junior 2 Heel Power Heel Power 2 All Round 2 All Round 3 All Round 4 Power 4 Power 5 - SPECIAL SKILL PACKAGE - give your wrestler a pre-made package of special skills; check the related section below for more info - MINOR SPECIAL SKILLS - Sets up your special skills individually, again check related section below for more info - POWERBALL - Ranges from 0-4. Obviously, how many Powerballs your created wrestler will have. It's quite expensive; you'll spend 5/15/25/40 points to increase from 0 to 4 Powerballs respectively. - CRITICAL TYPE - The type of moves you use than can produce criticals - there's OFF (no criticals at all - 0 pts), FINISHER (only finishers can critical - 10 pts), SUPLEX (suplexes can cause criticals - 20 pts), POWER (power moves such as powerbombs can cause criticals - 20 pts), TECHNICAL (technical moves such as small package, backslide pin etc. can cause criticals - 25 pts), STRIKING (punches and kicks can cause criticals - 30 pts) and finally SUBMISSION (all submissions can cause criticals - 30 pts) (Thanks to Pink Spider) - RECOVERY - How quickly you recover from an attack. Comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (6 pts needed), Strong (12 pts needed) - RECOVERY (BLEEDING) - Same as above, but when you are bleeding - BREATHING - How quickly you regain stamina by breathing (L1) and also how quickly you get fatigued. Again, comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (6 pts needed), Strong (12 pts needed) - BREATHING (BLEEDING) - As above, but when bleeding - AWARENESS - How well you counter/kick out of pins i.e. fighting spirit. Also comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (6 pts needed), Strong (12 pts needed) - AWARENESS (BLEEDING) - As above, but when bleeding - NECK STRENGTH - How well you can resist a neck-based attack or submission. Comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (2 pts needed), Strong (5 pts needed) - ARM STRENGTH - How well you can resist a arm-based attack or submission. Comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (2 pts needed), Strong (5 pts needed) - WAIST STRENGTH - How well you can resist a waist-based attack or submission. Comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (2 pts needed), Strong (5 pts needed) - FOOT STRENGTH - How well you can resist a foot-based attack or submission. Comes in Weak (0 pts needed), Medium (2 pts needed), Strong (5 pts needed) - CORNER - How well you can climb up corners. Comes in Can't Climb (0 pts needed), Can Climb (2 pts needed) and Can Run Up (4 pts needed) - RETURN COUNT - Ranges from 1-20, and doesn't cost points to raise. It's the speed at which your wrestler will return to the ring after being tossed out - TAG FREQUENCY - How quickly to tag out to your partner in tag matches - comes in Slow, Medium or Fast (thanks to Shoplifter) - CUT PLAY FREQUENCY - How quickly you come out to help your partner when he's in a jam - comes in Slow, Medium or Fast (thanks to Shoplifter) - VOICE 1 - One of the grunts and groans your wrestler will yell out during a match. Press () to preview - VOICE 2 - Yet another voice clip for your wrestler. Incidentally, you can scroll through these faster by holding down R2 - FAVOURITE COLOR - What it says. These will determine what are the colors of the streamers shot out during some intros. Available colors are white, black, six shades of blue, purple, pink, red, orange, light red, light orange, another orange, yellow, another yellow, light green, green, dark green, blue-green, gold and silver in that order. If you're wondering, these colors follow the available costume colors in the game - POPULARITY - Comes in Low, Normal or High. Basically how much the crowd will chant for you __________________________________________________________________________ | ________________________________________| \_G._SUB-MENU_5_-_EDIT_PARAMETER_/ Here you get to set your wrestler's basic stats. These will determine how strong he is in different move categories, either offensively or defensively. They should be :- OFFENSE DEFENSE ======= ======= PUNCH PUNCH KICK KICK SUPLEX SUPLEX SUBMISSION SUBMISSION STRETCH STRETCH POWER FLYING INSTANT POWER CRUSHING ARM POWER LARIAT TECHNIQUE TECHNIQUE ROUGHNECK ROUGHNECK GROUND GROUND Highlight one category and increase it's stats using the left/right pad. Balance out your character, especially in defense! And also, if you're a real wrestling fan, don't use up all your points on your CAW. For one thing, not all wrestlers have SUPER STATS, so don't give it to your CAWs if you want to sim some good matches and not total squashes! __________________________________________________________________________ | ____________________________________________| \_H._SUB-MENU_6_-_EDIT_MOVES_/ This is one huge section that allows you to set your wrestler's moves. In the very first menu, the first option let's you jump right into the fray setting your moves. The second option let's you load up a sample movelist, in case you're lazy. Entering the first menu and you'll encounter all the move categories you can set moves to. In all the menus, there's three columns. The first one on the right allows you to set that particular move as your specialty / finisher. Up to four specials and one finisher can be set, and you will be prompted to rename your finisher when you're done. The second column adds one of the two sound clips you selected in the Edit Skill menu. And finally the last column lets you pick your moves. Press /\ to preview them. Also, note that moves that are marked with (PB) are Powerball moves - these require a powerball to use. Remember that you can create up to two movelists per person. Two switch a costume set to a different movelist, select that costume and press /\. You'll notice the NORMAL EDIT change into EXTRA EDIT - that shows you're now using another movelist! Once you come down to it, that is a heck of a lot of moves, more than any wrestling game at the moment! If you're too lazy to fill all that up yourself, you can use a sample movelist. Select the second option in the main Edit Move menu, then pick one of these. Note that selecting one of these will clear out the moves you've set previously, unless you're setting an Extra Edit Movelist. Again, those who have played Fire Pro would be fairly familiar with this mode. This game does make it easier for the lazier players though - there's a list of pre-made Logic Sets in the game. In the main menu, the top option lets you directly edit the CPU, while the second option lets you load the aforementioned pre-made logic sets. The pre-made logic sets correspond to the pre-made movelists in the Edit Move menu, so check there for translations; the list is just above this paragraph! Liquidalex and Melfina are the main two people involved in the huge translation process so all kudos goes to them, not me. Here's how the logic menu works :- the upper menu where you start off are the 43 different instances where you can set logic to (it's listed in order here). When you pick an instance (eg. Standing), you'll enter the logic menu below, and go to the leftmost pane. This one allows you to select the damage level of your opponent where this logic will apply to (for STANDING the options are SMALL/MEDIUM/LARGE/NEAR DEATH damage levels). Pick one of those and you'll get to the lower center pane. Here there will be a number of different actions your wrestler can perform. Here you can set the percentages, which will determine the chances that the action will actually be performed (eg. for standing there's BACK AWAY FROM OPPONENT, CIRCLE OPPONENT, GRAPPLE OPPONENT and STRIKES). Some of these options will open into a further menu (eg. STRIKES will open into the different strike options available). Again this is set in percentage to determine which move is more likely performed given the circumstances. Whew! SAVE/LOAD
=========
Here you can manage your created character's data. Top option is LOAD
WRESTLER, next option is SAVE WRESTLER, and the third and final option
is DELETE WRESTLER. Don't forget to save your wrestler once you've
done making him! In this game you can store up to 100 created wrestlers.
On the Green Disc (and also when you combine Red+Green) there's a fourth
option TRANSFER WRESTLER. This lets you load up wrestlers from another
KOC save file to add to yours. However, at any instance the most created
wrestlers you can have is 100.
UPDATE
======
If you're updating existing wrestlers then the SAVE/LOAD option becomes
the UPDATE option. Just pick this and choose the first option to update
your wrestler. And since I have been asked this often - no, updated
wrestlers do not take up any CAW space, it's stored in the main save file.
EXIT
====
All done with Editing? Saved your creations already? Pick this to get
the heck outta here!

\_L._SPECIAL_SKILLS_/
Every wrestler can have special skills - additional abilities that
aid or afflict your wrestler when certain conditions are met. They use
their own point system, which, for a lack of a better term, I will call
Special Points. When you start off, your created wrestler will have 20
Special Points, meaning those 30 Special Point Skills are out of your
reach. Anything above "Long Title Reign" is therefore unavailable from
the start. Play Trial Road long enough and you'll unlock the option
for more of these points. There are two Special Skill options in the
Edit Menu - the first option, Skill Sets, are simply packages of
different skills for those who are lazy in setting their own special
skills - however this too is unavailable from the start since all the
packages cost more than your basic 20 Special Points. The second lets
you customize your own by picking up to three different skills.
Kilroy42 and Melfina supplied a list of all the special skills you can
add to your character. Check here if you want to add in your skills

\_M._JUSTIN_CHU'S_THEMES_FAQ_/
Justin Chu aka chuchu33 of the GameFAQs board has put together an impressive
list of all the entrance themes used by the wrestlers on Red and Green Disc,
but for some reason the FAQ never got accepted into GameFAQs proper. He has
since agreed to incorporate the FAQ into this one, so take it away!
Theme Song Listing FAQ ver. 2.2

*******************
Ok... this is my first attempt at an FAQ of any type. Basically, it's a
list of every single theme available in King Of Colosseum (with everything
unlocked). I've tried to give the names to every one I could, but for
those I couldn't figure out, I've put a (???) to it. This FAQ is by no
means complete, obviously, so if any of you have any corrections or can
fill in some of the blanks, by all means e-mail.
[Wrestler Name - Theme Name] songs are songs that are original to their
fed of origin.
[Wrestler Name - Artist "Song Name"] are actual released songs, used with
permission by each fed.
All actual songs and some of the original themes have been altered by
Spike for copyright purposes.
This list is ordered from what you can select in the themes list in the
game, starting a new CAW in the Free Edit mode, with the next theme being
the theme on the right.
*******************
1.1 Revision: AKIRA's theme fixed
1.2 Revision: Names added to credits, numerous theme name fixes (Kido,
Abdullah), Albright removed and changed to Andre the Giant, (Rosia)
changed to "Red Sunglasses (NJPW Theme)"
1.3 Revision: Added Kensuke Sasaki's alternate theme, fixed Shiro
Koshinaka's themes.
2.0 Revision: Started list addendum for KoC Green
2.1 Revision: Fixed the name of the "2001: A Space Odyssey" theme, added
Michael Modest's and Donovan Morgan's themes, corrected a bunch...
2.2 Revision: Added Akitoshi Saito's theme.
2.3 Fixed Michael Modest's theme
