In this guide, you will find what each capsule contains and where to find these contents. I have also included a list of other ambient wildlife in the Hot Shots Golf universe. If you have any information about capsule info I may have missed OR a correction/addition/other input about anything else in this guide, please e-mail me at: ericreiman@yahoo.com. Thanks and happy hunting! 1.0 Capsule Info 1.1 Capsule #1: Macaw In-game description: A wild bird with beautiful red wings. Course: Blue Lagoon C.C. Hole: 15 Specific Location: Atop one of the Easter Island-like statues/totem poles behind the green. Specifically, the macaw is on the third statue from the left. The macaw can be viewed on any shot. 1.2 Capsule #2: Tumbleweed In-game description: Mysterious grass with animal-like behavior. Course: Western Valley C.C. Hole: 1 AND 8 Specific Location: This capsule item is somewhat strange. I believe that you need windy conditions to see it. On Hole 1, I had a 6 mps wind blowing from right to left, and the tumbleweed came rolling across right in front of the tee box from right to left, following the wind. On Hole 8, I had a 4 mps wind toward the hole (helping me) and I saw the tumbleweed on my approach shot to the green (my second shot). It was rolling across the green in the direction of the wind. Incidentally, I got my second Double Eagle on that shot! :-) 1.3 Capsule #3: Pirarucu In-game description: Largest freshwater fish in the world. Course: Wild Green C.C. Hole: 6 AND 12 Specific Location: In the pond surrounding the front of the green. It swims to the right and then back left again. It's easier to see in the overhead view, THEN you can use the normal view zoom controls to see it better. On Hole 12, TWO pirarucus are swimming under the middle of the bridge to the left of the green. 1.4 Capsule #4: Pirate Ship In-game description: A pirate ship that shows up during bad weather. Course: Blue Lagoon C.C. Hole: 3 Specific Location: This capsule item is also very strange. I decided to play a few rounds at Blue Lagoon C.C. under different seasons to see if I really needed bad weather in order to see the pirate ship. The definitive answer is "NO". I saw the pirate ship during the fall season at Hole 3. It is on the left side of the hole, slightly past the beach almost directly to the grove of trees in the left center of the fairway. The pirate ship floats to the right, then back, and then begins to FLY! It touches down in the water again, and continues its counterclockwise circling. The pirate ship can be seen on any shot. However, it is NOT guaranteed that the pirate ship will show up on any given round. Its appearance is random. 1.5 Capsule #5: Panda In-game description: An animal you only see at the zoo nowadays. Course: Silk Road Classic Hole: 5 Specific Location: Right in between the tee and the green, the panda sits in a grove of bamboo trees. He can be viewed on any shot. The panda is chewing on a twig (and looking very cute while doing it)! 1.6 Capsule #6: Hippo In-game description: A humorous animal with a huge body and a big mouth. Course: Wild Green C.C. Hole: 10 Specific Location: In the pond behind the green, to the right of the hole. There is another hippo on the embankment behind the pond, back and right of the hippo in the water. 1.7 Capsule #7: Hermit In-game description: A super-human that hops on a cloud and flies across the sky. Course: Silk Road Classic Hole: 13 Specific Location: Flies left and right over the huge chasm in the center. Disappears and reappears in other parts of the chasm randomly. If you aim your drive to the right hand fairway, you will often see him as the ball is flying through the air toward the fairway (that's how I saw him the first time). 1.8 Capsule #8: Super Jet In-game description: Beautiful delta-winged airplane that travels at sonic speed. Course: United Forest G.C. Hole: 10 Specific Location: Flies across the sky toward the tee box. You can't miss this one! 1.9 Capsule #9: Parasailer In-game description: A tropical toy that gracefully flies through the air. Course: Aloha Beach Resort Hole: 9 Specific Location: Right in between the tee and the green. Glides to the left and then back again. You really can't miss this one either! 1.10 Capsule #10: Mystery Train In-game description: A mystery train that travels space on rails of light. Course: Day Dream G.C. Hole: 6 Specific Location: The train's take-off point is behind and to the left of the green. The "rails of light" are fairly obvious too and extend over the green and intersect the futuristic city on the right side of the hole. The travels on these "rails of light." 1.11 Capsule #11: Balloon In-game description: Cluster of balloons floating across the sky. Course: Day Dream G.C. Holes: 5 AND 15 Specific Locations: On Hole 5, the balloons float above the Arc de Triomphe replica on the left side of the hole. On Hole 15, the balloons float above the whimsical castle directly between the tee box and the green. 2.0 Other Ambient Wildlife by Course NOTE: There are ants that crawl around the inside lips of some cups on every single course; they are not included in the following lists. 2.1 Mt. This is on Hole 14. It zooms around the hole, changing its position every second or two. It can be seen on any shot, but it is easiest to see on the second shot. Use the overhead view to follow its erratic flight path. 2.4 Bagpipe Classic *Duck - Holes 2, 4, and 17, swimming in the water. Always appear in pairs. *Jackrabbit - Hole 1, hopping in fairway. On Hole 9, they are to the left of the green, in the grove of trees. On Hole 11, one fox is on the left side of the hole, in the grove of trees. On Hole 13, aim at the third bunker on the right side of the fairway and zoom in. The foxes are in the trees behind this bunker. There are also two to the left of the bunker with two trees coming out of it (same hole). On Hole 14, between the two bodies of water, in the grove of trees. On Hole 16, is in the field of flowers, behind the man-made "observation deck." *Cranes - Hole 4, between tee box and green, flying over the water. *Dragonfly - Holes 6 and 15. On Hole 6, begins over water, flies over right side of green, then off the back right side of the screen. They reappear every 10 or 15 seconds and continue the pattern. On Hole 15, the flight is very similar, but the dragonfly starts from the left of the green then exits back right of the green. *Small Dragonfly - Hole 6, buzzes over the green. *Horses - Hole 9, grazing in pasture in front and right of the green. *Sheep - Holes 9 and 16. The giant creature can be seen mangling a ship of some sort. *Cars - Hole 6, travelling on elevated highways in the futuristic city on the right side of the hole. *Cars - Hole 9, travelling on overhead highway above the fairway. Be careful! It's possible to land your ball up here, so be careful! The shot will count as Out of Bounds. *Floating castle(s) - Hole 10, the floating castle moves right, while the other floating object moves in the opposite direction. (Does anyone know what this other floating object is?) These two objects can only be seen from the overhead view. *Racing Cars - Hole 11, on racing strip between the tee box and the green. 2.8 Wild Green C.C. *Alligators - Holes 1, 2, 6, 11, and 15. To zoom in or move the camera forward (or down from the overhead view), press [triangle]. To pan back out again or move the camera backward (or up from the overhead view), press [circle]. To get to the overhead view [and back again], press [start]. This view is very useful when trying to spot capsule items 3 and 7: the pirarucu and the hermit. It is also the only way you can seem some objects, most notably the floating structures on Hole 10 of the Day Dream G.C. 4.0 Oddities 4.0.1 Volcanic Shortcut On the 2nd hole at Day Dream G.C., there is a secret passageway from the middle volcanic opening to the green! I hardly believed it when someone mentioned it on the message board, but it is true! Aim for the middle volcano (it's the second steaming one). --This was brought to my attention by User ID: Trevor2099 4.0.2 "Father" Statues At United Forest G.C., in some places there are bust (head only) statues labeled "Father." I don't know what these mean (can someone shed some light on this subject?). There are 4 statues that I know of: 1. Hole 9, behind the green, in front of the two-tiered house 2. Hole 12, placed in the winding creek, in front of the green 3. Hole 16, placed in pond in front and to the left of the green 4. Hole 18, back right of green, in front of the two-tiered house 4.0.3 Flashing Hieroglyphic Rock At Blue Lagoon C.C., on Hole 6, there is a rock that sticks out of the water/beach to the left of the green (next to the yellow airplane). If you watch closely [it may help to zoom in], some characters (hieroglyphics?) will flash on and off on the rock. There are 4 letters, and I personally cannot make out any of them. Any information anyone may have on these letters would be greatly appreciated! 5.0 Copyright Information This FAQ was written solely by me, Eric B.
