INTRODUCTION] [JUMP2.0] This FAQ means to serve as the undeniable number one source for unlocking the gallery pics in 'History Mode' and ultimately Kenoh for player use in Hokuto No Ken for the Sony Playstation 2. Each 'Historic Moment' contributes to fulfilling a total of 77 total moments. When all 77 moments are unlocked, Kenoh will be able to be selected on the character select screen. To do so, simply press START while Raoh is highlighted and he will switch over to Kenoh. The game was released on March 28, 2007 and came with a pack-in DVD (Region 2) that includes a Starter Guide, a Contest to find the real Kenshiro, a trip down memory lane with past HnK titles, and finally, some commercial clips and anime clips from the upcoming anime. I also in no way claim to have figured out all this info on my own and am really just trying to place it in a lasting form for fans to come to if need be. The real heroes who found out the secrets of this game are the fans (with particular ones named in the 'Thanks' section.) Without fans, HnK wouldn't be a reality and definitely wouldn't have such a wonderful game available. The core of this FAQ was already written by BBQmyNUTZ. I rearranged some things, made some additions, notes, etc. I've decided to use the numeric pad system of listing commands. The community has began to shift over to this and has been a staple in Japan for years. It also allows FAQs to be created faster since other methods are cumbersome. Below I have made a diagram as well as listed each direction for posterity sake. 789 456 123 7 = up-Back 8 = up 9 = up-Forward 4 = back 5 = neutral 6 = forward 1 = down-back 2 = down 3 = down-forward In the Street Fighter series, a standard Hadouken fireball would be denoted as 236+P (P for any punch.) In this game, there are 5 face buttons, each being something different. Below is a list of how those translate in the FAQ: A = Punch B = Kick C = Hard Punch D = Hard Kick E = Boost ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3. TIPS FOR DIFFICULT MOMENTS] [JUMP5.0] There are a couple of 'Historic Moments' that are quite annoying. By annoying, I mean absolutely brain hurting and troublesome. Heh. Anyone, here are some hints on how to get past the ones that people (like myself) seem to have trouble with. They are listed in chronological order. 22. Ken vs. Jagi - Connect with Ken's Guard Crash during Jagi's crouching block (Destroy's the Jagi Statue) Tip: Choose Jagi and constantly crouch and block. 37. Rei vs. Raoh - Counter Rei's 236236+C with Raoh's 214214+A Tip: Choose Rei and watch your opponent's Aura gauge. As soon as Raoh gains a stock, perform Rei's 236236+C directly next to him. Raoh will most likely counter you instantly. This saves a lot of headache. 39. Toki vs. Raoh - Connect with Raoh's (Air)214+D Special in a combo 40. Toki vs. Raoh - After connect with Raoh's 214+D Special, block Toki's 2+D Tip: There are two approaches to this. You can let Raoh do his signature abuse air combo on you (which results in the HM every time) or you can do it yourself. If you choose to do it yourself, you can just block as soon as you hit the ground with the knife. Toki will attack most likely with an attack string that includes his crouching 2+D. 50. Rei vs. Juda - Connect with Rei's OHK 236+CD while Juda is performing his OHK 236+CD 51. Rei vs. Juda - Connect with Rei's OHK 236+CD Tip: Let Juda get you down to ZERO stars and just wait for him to whip out his OHK. Juda goes OHK nuts when he can. As soon as you see Juda power up, activate Rei's OHK. You'll eliminate both in one fail swoop. Another suggestion someone had was to choose Juda and wait for Rei to go nuts with his instant kill. Since Rei's starts up slower, you can input Juda's and make the event happen that way too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [6. THANKS] [JUMP6.0] I'd like to first thank anyone and everyone who has contributed info to this FAQ and if you feel like you've been left out, please email me and I'll fix it immediately. I'd also like to thank my wife for keeping me sane and putting up with my antics since I'm nothing more than a big kid :) Thanks to Kao Megura for his wonderful FAQ on many of the fighting games I grew up with. Check out his other FAQs. RIP bro. Thanks to GameFaqs and CJAYC for hosting such a wonderful (and FREE) database of info and I can only imagine how much hard work he puts in daily. AnimeJunkie2112, Final Ultima, BBQmyNUTZ, and Akuma Hokoru for working on and compiling several lists for the completion of the History Mode. Also for rigorously testing and finding out the needed 'Historic Moments'. Anyone else who contributed, let me know and I'll add you on. The four mentioned above are the main pioneers in the search for the completion of this mode. Thanks to TokyoNeko ALWAYS finding my errors. Heh. GaijinD also for pointing out some errors. Trueluk2000 for the Ken vs Toki error. Yaw for the OHK errors. Etryus for some suggestions, fixes, etc. Errors pointed out by Chester Villar – Thanks! Me for finding the final 'Historic Moment' to complete the list. Heh. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [7.
