This game features a fathom of new songs to be played, both by Aerosmith, and other bands as well. The features included in Guitar Hero increase with each new release, and truly help make this game what it's become. When looking for a specific part of this guide, look in the table of contents for the five character search term first. Next, press Ctrl + F on your keyboard and either type, or copy and paste, that term into the box that comes up, then press find. Anyone looking for score caps will have to look elsewhere, as I don't know how to figure these out. Perhaps at a later date someone will let me use the numbers from their guide to make this one more complete, but until then I apologize. This is my first FAQ and hope to make it as good as I can, so I will be including lyrics, tips, and hopefully even button layouts for each song. _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _________Version History______________________________________________ Version 0.25 - First go at writing, completed as much as possible in one sitting, further updates to be much more in-depth. Well first you're going to need to learn the basic controls! You've surely noticed the five(5) colored buttons on the neck of the guitar by now, these are your basic controls. Each of these buttons corresponds to the same colored button that appears on your screen. As the moving circles line up with the stationary line at the bottom of the screen you have to press the same buttons on the guitar. It may seem confusing here, but once you start playing it becomes much easier. Hold on though! That's not all! Just by pressing these buttons at the right times will still cause you to fail the songs! Why? Because just like a real guitar, no music is going to happen if you don't strum the strings. By pressing the correct buttons AND strumming at the same time, you'll be a Guitar Hero in no time. ------------Advanced Techniques--------------------------------------- -------Sustained Notes and the Whammy Bar- One thing you may have noticed after getting used to the basic controls is that some notes have a trail of color after them. These are sustained notes. After strumming these notes, continue to hold down the button(s) corresponding to these notes, and it will hold the note for you, causing an increased score. But that's not all you can do with these notes! You may have noticed a metal bar at the base of the guitar, this is your whammy bar. By pressing and releasing this bar continuously during those sustained notes the line will vibrate, causing yet another score increase. Using these techniques will help you increase your score. -------Chords- Chords are a big part in the later modes, though not so much in Easy and Medium. Chords are when more than one fret button is held and then strummed. So, a single note would be like a Green being held and strummed. While a chord would be a Green AND Red being held down simultaneously and strummed. Some of these chords can be hard to hit, especially when they switch between different ones quickly. -------Star Phrases and Star Power- There are sometimes a string of notes that appear and have blue stars around the notes. These are called Star Phrases. By successfully hitting all of the notes in one of these Star Phrases, you'll increase a meter off to the side of the screen. This meter shows how much Star Power you have left. Once you gain enough power, your screen will flash a message saying "Star Power Active" and a sound will accompany this. Once this happens you can use your Star Power. Either lift up on the neck of the guitar or press on the select button to activate it. By doing this all of the notes on screen will turn blue and begin to glow. The notes still represent the same colors, so this may confuse newer players. What this does is causes each note to increase your rock meter by more than normal and also and score multiplier will now be doubled(x4 is now x8). ------Rock Meter and Streaks- The rock meter is located in the same spot as the star power meter. The purpose of this meter is to show how well you're doing in the current song. Green is good, yellow is mediocre, and red means you're in danger of failing. Each note you hit moves you towards the green, while each one you miss moves you to the red. After missing too many notes in a row, you will fail the song, unless you're in practice mode. As for streaks, the more notes you hit in a row causes your streaks to increase. This helps, because the higher your streak the higher your score. --------------Tutorials----------------------------------------------- Anyone who still does not understand the different features and controls can access tutorials through the main menu. ____________Career Mode_______________________________________________

The career mode is the same in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith as it's been in all    
previous Guitar Hero games. Each mode is aimed at different people based on  
their skill and experience in the game. Here is a little description of each 
mode from easiest to most difficult.

----------------Easy--------------------------------------------------

As the name implies, this mode is the easiest. If you are new to the series  
then this mode may still seem hard at first, but don't get discouraged. In   
this mode you only need to use the top three fret buttons(Green, Red, Yellow)
and the speed which the notes come at you is relatively slow. Another key    
element of this mode is that there are very few chords in most songs. So, if 
you are new to the guitar hero games you may want to start with this mode.   


----------------Medium------------------------------------------------

The next easiest level is Medium. Here you are introduced to the blue button.
The speed of the notes coming at you is now increased, and there are also    
more chords in this mode. Hammer-ons and Pull-offs are also introduced in  
this mode. Many people tend to stop at this mode, as it is still challenging 
but not to the point of being frustrating.


----------------Hard--------------------------------------------------

This is where the fun begins. The orange button is added in this mode. The   
speed is stepped up yet again. Also chords are found in a much greater 
frequency than ever before. Hammer-ons and Pull-offs are now used much more,
but are not necessarily required to complete songs. This mode is a challenge 
for most people, and is frustrating to many. 


----------------Expert------------------------------------------------

If you play on this mode, you most likely don't need my explanation for it. 
But for those who dream of someday being a Guitar Hero expert here it is.    
The speed has been increased to an excruciating speed for most people. Chords
now appear more often, and also switch from one to another with little to no 
break In between. Hammer-ons and Pull-offs are now almost required to be able
to complete the songs with a decent percentage. Also, strings of notes that 
appear so fast mean you are going to have to strum both up and down where it
was not necessary before.
