Circle : Strums your Gitaroo/dodge X : Strums your Gitaroo/dodge Triangle : Strums your Gitaroo/dodge Square : Strums your Gitaroo/dodge ... that's it, no D-pad, L1, L2, L3, R1, R2 and R3. You don't need the Pressure sensitivity for this game. Which means that you'll be able to use your PSX and PSone ANALOG controllers. You need at least 1 MB of space in your PS2 memory card to save this game. Now, let's get down to the walkthrough of this game. Your first enemy: Panpeus His Gitaroo : Axe Area : U-1's house Song Title : Twisted Reality My thoughts of this song : Easy, too easy. If you like music, but if you listen to pop songs (i.e. Britney Spears, NSYNC, BSB etc etc), you may need a few rounds to adjust to all of the songs in this game. But heck, this song is nice and slow. If this is your first time playing, it doesn't matter if you lose a few matches or things like that, practice makes perfect, y'know? Tips : Be prepared, Use the Extra Boost and Extra Damage as your advantage. First few parts are charge-ups, after that, battle all the way until Final. 2p VS. mode tips : Nothing much, actually ... Your second enemy: Flyin' O His Gitaroo : Dance-till-you-die rays Area : In the middle of town Song title : Flyin' to your heart. My thoughts of this song : Fast, harder than the first stage, I would say. Try not to get distracted by the attacks on the background. Keep your eyes on the road! Or the trace line in this case. Be prepared for what might come ahead of you. Final may be a little bit tough. Tips : Extra Boost and Extra Damage! And, no, IT'S NOT A CHEAT! It's skill! First few parts are charge-ups, followed by battles and then the Final. 2p VS. mode tips : The Final for Player 2 is a little bit different than Player 1's. Your third enemy: Mojo King Bee His Gitaroo : Trumpet Area : In the JUNGLE, the mighty JUNGLE, the bee attacks you tonight! My thoughts of this song : FuNkY~! I love this song. Blues and disco mix are the best! Mojo is tough and so are your phase bars. The finals are okay, except for the last part, cause you'll have to tap fast. Tips : Extra Boost and Extra Damage are your friends. Be sure you are ready to tap fast in some dodges. First few parts are charge ups, battle and then the finals. 2p VS. mode tips : Nothing at all. Your fourth enemy: Ben-K (hammerhead shark mode) Area : In a black hole Song title : VOID My thoughts of this song : I hear lots of bass and drums. This is one tough shark to hammer, if you get what I mean. Guard for 1 minute and you're done! Tips : Block your way throughout the whole song. Make sure you switch your fingers fast. It's guard mode all the way. 2p VS. mode tips : This song is not there. Rumors said that this song is unlockable in VS. mode after you beat master's play. But this rumor was proved wrong, thanks to someone from http://www.gamefaqs.com Your fifth enemy: Ben-K (Robo mode) His Gitaroo : Turntables on his chest (So that's why he's twisting his chest every time he plays his part) Area : A robotic planet not far away from planet Gitaroo, I think Song Title : 'Nuff Respect My thoughts of this song : The slowest song I've ever heard. This song is considered quite tough for a slow song. Your phase bars are quite tough, cause in each charge there's only one phase bars, long ones. But what really matters is that how you move your analog stick accurately. Took me quite a while to adjust to this song. The guard mode is also a bit tough, depends on how well you play. This song has several charge ups, so don't worry of getting damaged by mistakes as long as you know how to boost up your power gauge. Tips : Extra Boosts are the key to this song! If you complete a phase bar and execute the Extra boost, it will recover tons of health. For example : I'm playing this song, first charge up and after I'm done with the first two phase bars, my power gauge is full already! Without misses! 2p VS. mode tips : Well, player 1 might win the match easily due to the boost, I have a weird feeling that the final might be different, please mail be to confirm this. Thank you! Your sixth enemy: Kirah Her Gitaroo : None Area : At the Seaside. Song Title : The Legendary Theme (Acoustic Version) My thoughts of this song : This song is legendary, alright. This song inspired me to take up guitar (Stupid game, but I'm glad that I took it up too!). Enough about me, time for this walkthrough. This is a full battle song, well, not exactly battle, but you're trying to win Kirah's heart. This song is too good to listen to! And it's not that hard to play (Both game and guitar). Tips : I guess you can play it clean. No harm to do extra damage (XD), no matter how well you play this song, there will be no different parts. (Don't know what I'm talking about? Read the FAQs!!). The phase is battle all the way. 2p VS. mode tips : Look at the VOID section. It's the same. Your seventh enemy: His ... erm THEIR Gitaroo: Their bone bodies Area : Prison Song title : Born to be bone My thoughts of this song : Think Spanish, senior! Or is it Mexican ..? Ah heck! These bunch of bones are a lot tougher than they look! This song is fast and your phase bars are crazy! So are the guard modes. One of the tough songs, this is. I can't give much tips, but be prepared! ALWAYS!. If you are losing, may the force be with you, so as Yevon. Tips : Extra Boost will help you during the charge-ups, use it well, cuz you might lose much power at the starting of this song, if you're inexperienced. Extra damage doesn't do much damage, but it's a whole lot better than nothing. The phases are Battle (starting), charge-up, battle (once again), then final. 2p VS. mode tips : Player 2, if you get to the final, don't be to boastful! The final is TOTALLY different than player 1's!! I'M NOT JOKING! Your eighth enemy: Gregorio His Gitaroo : The whole cathedral (Holy crap ..) Area : In his cathedral (Bigger crap ...) Song title : Tainted Lovers My Thoughts of this song : Violins? Organs? Isn't that considered as 2 Gitaroos? Against a puny pip-squeak like you? Well, have no fear, cause it's still the same (So what? It doesn't rhyme, and I don't care). I like this songs, your phase bars are crazy, even for the charge-ups and the final's. You must have fast reflexes and always fight here, to improve your Gitaroo skills! Tips : Extra Boost and Damage! It's the BEST strategy! The phases are : Charge, Battle (You attack only), Charge, Battle (You start first), Final. 2p VS. mode tips : Player 2's controls are a bit hard, I'm not too sure about the finals, might be a bit different. Get used to it! Your ninth enemy: Kirah Her Gitaroo : Gitaroo Area : Gitaroo Arena Song title : Overpass, The Legendary Theme (Soft Rock version) My thought of these songs: Overpass: Very nice, sounds good too! You're against Kirah with both at maximum power gauges. For Overpass, fight and defend you way through! The Legendary Theme : Alright!!!! ROCK VERSION! It's faster than the Acoustic version, and harder too. Because in this song, you are two guitarists, combined into one! You'll have to play the normal part and the additional parts together! Good luck and the grades are graded on how well you do in BOTH songs. Tips : Overpass: Just fight our way through, you've got a full power gauge and DON'T waste a single drop of it! Battle and guard all the way. The Legendary Theme : Ragain your lost health in the charge-up. Win Kirah's alliance by attacking her! Double team with her in the finals! And don't get distracted by the crowd and Kirah. She'll attack, but she will NOT inflict damage on you. 2p. VS. mode tips : The two songs are not available. Your last enemy: Zowie His Gitaroo : Ultimate wha-cha-ma-call-it Gitaroo suit Area : You'll be flyin'! Song title : Resurrection My thoughts of this song : This song sounds e-e-evil! Cool! This is one heck of a song! It's very tough. You might not win on the first try, but practice makes perfect (I've said that a couple of times already). Tips : Your thumb must move fast, do not make a mistake, cause this song it just a little sample of Master's Play. Use the Extra Boost to aid you in charge-ups. You'll be starting off with a full power gauge. That's it for single play. What was Master's Play? Master's Play is a mode where you'll have to play EXACTLY like the guitarists. It's faster, harder than ever, and if you think Zowie was hard, well, guess again. I WON'T be writing a walkthrough for Master's Play because I'm still playing it. It's nearly the same (Duh) All mp3's can be downloaded at http://www.media-zero.com/ (cause I know you can't resist it :) Yes, now that you've known what this game is all about, I guess you can always check this part, the Frequently Asked Questions section. Q : I see that you mention "phase bars" in your walkthrough, what is that? A : In the game, those are the things that you use to attack your opponents, or charge your power gauge up. Q : Speaking of which, since now I understand what is Battle and Charge, or Charge ups. What are finals? A : Definitely not football! Finals are the part where you attack all the way, when your opponent is weakened. Q : Okay, got'cha. But sometimes, when I play the same songs, there will be different phase bars and guards. Can you please explain this to me? A : Yes I can. It depends on how well you play, if you play really good, your opponents attacks will be tougher, so are your phase bars. If you are really bad, they'll give you easy phase bars. Q : Extra Boost ... ? Extra Damage ... ? They never mentioned that in the tutorials! What does it do? A : Obviously, it means that it'll deal extra damage while attacking and more charging for charge-ups. Q : Sounds fun! How do you do it? A : At the end of every phase bar, release the Circle button. And if you do it correctly, you'll see your health increase by a lot, and if you're in battle, you'll see that you've done a lot of damage towards your enemy. Q : Oh man, that means that my S rank can go bye-bye A : Well, not exactly. Cause, by doing this, it doesn't mean that you've missed the WHOLE phase bar. If you didn't press the Circle button on time, to strum your Gitaroo, then that's considered as a miss. Q : Okay ... HEY! Isn't this a cheat??? A : You've got me there, I don't know, cause I figured this out myself, then I realized I wasn't the only one who knew about this little "cheat". AND IT'S SKILL!!! Q : Okay, that's it for the extra boost and damage thing. Every time, I release my left analog stick, I see it going to the left! Is my controller spoiled? A : No, cause I also have the same problem. Q : Every time I dodge an attack, I see that pink bar flashing (Flashing to the left, I mean), which usually represents that I'm increasing my power gauge. Well, am I? A : I'm not too sure myself, I've seen that quite a lot of times, I'm not too sure whether I actually increase my health, but I'm guessing yes. Q : Okay, attack phases will be different, what about that Final thing in VS. mode? Is it true? Or you're trying to scare the guts outta us? A : No, definitely not! It IS true! Why don't you go try it! Get you and your friend to the on the finals of the Born to be Bone stage with Player 2!!! Q : Whoa ... okay, does that mean that Gitaroo Man has other final surprises for us??? A : I'm not too sure, no one's volunteering to challenge me! Someone! Be my GUINEA PIG! Or in other words, please mail me to help me confirm! Q : And when I play, I don't get misses, but I get a rank A, but words, from bottom to top, says "No Miss!". WHERE'S MY RANK S???? A : That's easy, you're not good enough. You've got to many "Ok!"'s. Try again. Cause you're getting better! Q : Oh, and about the extra boost thing? Does it work in 2 player VS mode? A : Yes it does. (I forgot to put this in, but when chimera_4587@hotmail.com mailed me, I just remembered about it. Thanks dude!) Anything else you need to ask? Mail me and ask!
