Introduction ) Jiang Wei, one of the greatest men of the Three Kingdoms era. Many people see him as boring and original. But here I will show you that he is one of the most interesting characters. Having been born in 202 A.D. he only saw the end of the Three Kingdoms era. He went and served Wei as he was young but after a plot by Zhuge Liang he switches over to the Shu army. The was the battle at Tian Shui. There he is treated handsomely. He took an interest in Zhuge and Zhuge to him. Zhuge was his mentor and he was one of Zhuge's favorite officers. Later at the battle of Wu Zhang Plains, his mentor dies from stress and of getting poor health, he leaves Jiang Wei his strategy books. These were Zhuge's most trusted books. He leaves every single one to Jiang Wei and no other. So, Jiang Wei studies the books for years and is put in control of all the military by Liu Chan. Once he got that position he later leads raids on Wei land. Not even focusing on Wu all he attacked was Wei. He did a total of 10 raids but only half proved successful. Jiang Wei is later attacked while on a raid and is captured by Zhong Hui. With Jiang's great talking and persuasion skills he convinces Zhong to fight for his cause and restore the Han. This is around the time Jiang hears of Liu Chan being attacked and surrendering to what is now the Jin since the Sima clan overcame Wei. Around this time Jiang was struggling against Deng Ai. So he has one of his officers Wei Guan arrest him and bring him to the two generals' palace. Later at a banquet they tried to get some of the Wei generals to join their side and take out Sima Zhao and whoever oppose will be killed. They all eyeballed each other and then all signed the document promising they would. Jiang new they were not really with them and ordered a hole be dug and bury them all alive. Clubs would beat those who disagreed to get in. A night or 2 before they were going to kill them Zhong had a dream of serpents biting him. Jiang Wei interpreted this dream and said, "Dreams of dragons and snakes and scaly creatures are exceedingly auspicious." However this was not a favorable condition little did they know they would soon get a surprise attack on their castle. He was just about to carry out the plans to kill the Wei generals when he got a terrible spasm in his heart. It was so bad he collapsed. As he came back and started to get up he heard a big "BOOM" from outside the palace. This now continued and kept getting larger. They tried to hurry and kill the officers but a report came and said outside forces have entered the palace. A fire sprung up and Zhong sent men on the roof to pelt out the forces. By now they were already through the gates and killing guards and soldiers left and right. Jiang Wei and his new to be partner Zhong Hui were attacked by Jin the murderer of the emperor Siam Zhao's force at their castle at they were plotting to kill some of Wei's generals they captured. Wei forces appeared and stormed the castle. Guards fell quickly and Zhong Hui was among the first to be killed. Zhong was forced to fight himself. He fought bravely but only took out a few when flights of arrows rained down on him and killed him. From anger the Wei soldiers hacked off his head. Jiang was running all around and slaying them in the masses. Jiang Wei put up his best fight and held them off greatly, until he got a sharp pain in his chest he got a short time ago that was so severe he collapsed. Then he continued fighting but felt it again. He was no longer able to fight because of the pains he slit his throat after saying his last words, "Failed! But is the will of Heaven!" He was 59 when he put his own life into rest. Some say that if it weren't for the spasms he could have held them off and escaped from the palace even at his old age. But do not fret. Jiang Wei got his wish and that was Deng Ai getting killed. Tian Xu and Wei Guan took revenge on him Tian for Deng killing his family and Wei for killing Jiang and Zhong. Tian Xu cut him down and his son at the very same spot and killing Deng's son only seconds after. ( 2. Why should I use him? ) Jiang Wei is a very unique character with good moves and great looks. Other than his personality there are still many reasons to play with him. When playing on stages Jiang Wei is in he always has some very interesting roles in the stages. He is a young looking man with long hair and in some "different" kind of clothes. As you may or may not know he has a trident in this game. It has good reach and not so bad attack power. Plus the guy is speedy. His attack is fast along with running speed making stages more fun to play on. However his horse attacks are not unique and are weak. It is better just to put on a Speed Scroll and forget the horse. He also is a Musou man. He can have the most someone can have when you max it out. He starts out with pretty good attack and defense along with HP. Jiang Wei just is one of the best fighters in the game. ( 3. How to unlock Jiang Wei ) Well you will have to put some effort in to unlocking him it is not just get him with musou with Jiang Wei. You must first be at the battle at Tian Shui. It is a problem for most people to get so look in the next section it tells you how. At the battle of Tian Shui listen to Zhuge's commands. Just go on and attack generals on the outside of the fort. Then Jiang Wei will get a command to exit Ji fort and attack. This is your chance to get him. Start destroying his troops until not many are left then attack and defeat both of his officers. At this point Zhuge would start to come up to meet Jiang Wei to get him to defect. If Zhuge is stopped by troops you will have to hit Jiang Wei once and he will follow you. Make sure he keeps following you and lead him to Zhuge. There will be a cinema and after words Jiang Wei will be on your side! And the other 2 generals by the commander will defect to and start attacking. Finish the battle and you will have him. THIS MUST BE DONE IN MUSOU MODE. ( 4. The Battle of Tian Shui ) This is actually easy to unlock. First you must start a Shu musou. Go through it normally until you come to the chapter with Chi Bi. Skip all of the places and just do Chi Bi. There just wait. And if it is just on normal and you do not help Zhuge, he will retreat and the wind will not happen from there just charge and defeat Cao Cao. All you had to do was not let the fire attack happen. Even if the wind did not blow it can still happen so you must beat the place once he retreats. Once you finish the chapter, go on through the Musou normally *IT WILL APPEAR BEFORE THE FINAL CHAPTER* at the switching you will get a Shu Tales stage. That is Tian Shui. There you go now go get Jiang Wei! ** I get numerous Emails about this. Saying my guide is incorrect that people didn't get it after Chi Bi when it said before the final chapter but here I made it clearer. ( 5. Move Set ) Normal attacks- He will first swing upwards at the enemy, then hit them with the other end of the spear and the rest are wide hit attacks great for crowd clearing. 1st charge- Jiang Wei will shoot a beam. When the musou gauge is full then it will alter the attack. If you have jades the beams will change according to the jade and it will have the effect of the jade. This is useful for all of the jades and good to use on troops running toward you or as you run into a troop to battle for it weakens them a great deal. But without the musou gauge full, it is useless. 2nd charge- Jiang will thrust the spear upwards and knock enemies in front of him in the air. After this is a great follow up opportunity. 3rd charge- Jiang will swipe 3 to 7 times with this powerful quick move with a good crowd-clearing end. The more hit your weapon allows the more you can do. To do more simply press Triangle repeatedly on the 3rd charge. 4th charge- Jiang will thrust his spear in front of him hitting only a few though and it will knock them away. This move is pretty powerful yet hard to hit with. But you can hit more easier than on DW3. 5th charge- Jiang Wei will make like a wave with his spear and knock a great deal of enemies in the air and plenty of time to recover and follow up on the enemies falling back down. 5th charge follow up- after you do the 5th charge immediately press triangle again and Jiang Wei will jump up with the enemy and hit them down in a powerful blow. 6th charge- Jiang Wei will send a vertical beam out of his spear. It is strong and easier to hit with than other beams. Not at all a bad move. Musou attack- Jiang will spin his spear on the side of him repeatedly that will keep the enemy up in the air and end with a powerful swing from side to side. True Musou attack- Basically just the musou attack with an added fire element and a few more ending hits at the end of the Musou. I think that he is actually one of the people worth having the Way of the Musou item on because it in reality is a lot better than the regular. Jump attack- Jiang will thrust his spear down. Press Square again and he will stab down a second time. Jump charge- Jiang will jump really high and come crashing down knocking surrounding enemies to the ground. Though it is a great move it is easy to get hit out of it. Horse attack- the standard side to side swipes. Horse charge- standard power side to side swipe. Name Declaration- Yells and knocks all enemy's guards. " I have Arrived!" Parry- He counters back with his 4th charge and since it improved since DW3 it can hit more people but if you direct it good you can hit just the person you are going after. It is also one of the faster ones. Dash attack- a very useful and good attack since it hits everyone and does a lot of damage. Awesome crowd clearing and great attack power what more could you ask for? ( 6. Jiang Wei's 10th level weapon ) For this it must be at The battle at Tian Shui. But you cannot do it in free mode. So you must restart Shu musou and do the Chi Bi technique and get there again. Save before it and change the mode to hard. Start the stage and immediately go ahead of you and destroy the 2 nearby generals. There you must hurry and go up toward the East side of Ji fort and kill the Guard Captain for the gates to open. Once you go in there will be an ambush now go south and go around the southern side and do the same. Now at this time you may just want to kill Cao Ren on the insides to prevent a threat to Zhuge. This will demoralize his troops. Then go to Tian Shui gate after killing everyone outside of Tian Shui Gate and kill both guard captains and go in both interests to get 2 ambushes. From there kill the 2 generals by the commanders and if all goes well you will get a message saying Jiang Wei has earned the Blink. Kill the commander and at the weapon screen the 9th level will become the 10th. It is unique. +55 attack and longer reach and the ability to use jades without your musou being filled. ( 7. Suggestive Techniques ) Jades- Jiang Wei fares good in uses of all jades. My favorites for him would be Poison, Fire, and Ice. His charge attacks are perfect for all of these. He also fares well on Vorpal though I do not really suggest it. Blast is pretty much equal on everyone so if you like using it, it is perfectly ok to use it on him. Lightning is the worst on Jiang Wei mainly for his already good reach you do not need it much. Items- Jiang Wei can have 5 items more than the average character. For him I usually have +attack, defense, health, musou and either these 2 speed or musou charge. This will make him unstoppable. Saddles- If anything the Red Hare. For it is fast and to the point. He is not a horse battler so there is no need for the Shadow Saddle. Jiang Wei is fast anyway. I think it is a waste. Moves- Jiang Wei has complex moves so use this section to get the most out of it. For charging into battle use his 1st beam with a jade. There hack away. His 3rd is great for coming into battle and taking weaker enemies. Since his 5th hits a lot of people use it to your advantage. Using the 6th beam when coming into battle helps too. Battle- Jiang Wei is made to be an archer killer. He gets to them fast and attacks fast before they can even shoot. But since archers aren't much of a problem anymore that is useless. His Jump attack is great. He will stab down and it makes the enemy kind of go in the air. You press square again and he can stab the same enemy 2 times. The best features of it though, is that after you hit them up in the air with the 5th charge press Triangle again to hit them back down and as you are falling you can stab the enemy and add to your combo. So far this is the only character I know that can do it. Some times this little Jump attack has saved me in Duels. When you face Jiang Wei I always find him easy to defeat. Just because the computer does not know how to put him to work. So in battle against him he is easy. But in 2p mode and a skilled person is playing with him you are dead. You are either great with him or you... suck. You pretty much need some skill to be good with him. Remember to use his great reach as an advantage. You don't have to go after just one enemy with his good reach you can take out a whole party easily in a few swipes. This way you don't have to constantly look behind your back when in battle because most of his attacks keep them away from there. Easy Duels- One way to win duels is use the Jump attack. This is sometimes the only way I can wind some duels. Jump towards the enemy and he/she will jump to. Then use the double jump attack and he will fall down being vulnerable when he gets up so hurry back down and get be it and when the get up unleash combos to his backside. This works with every character and really helps in duels. ( 8. FAQs ) ***Will add when I get some*** Q: How do I get Jiang Wei? A: You go to Tian Shui and defeat his 2 officers when he comes out of the gates and have him meet Zhuge there after he should defect. Q: How do I get Jiang Wei's 10th level weapon? A: Do Shu musou and get to Tian Shui again. Before the battle, save and put it on hard. When playing on Ji castle go in and out both entrances before Cao Ren charges out and once you went in both kill Cao Ren. Then do it to the other Tian Shui gate. Then once you did the same on this kill the 2 generals by the commander. NOTE You cannot go in one and out the other you must kill the guards captains and enter all 4 this will trigger enemy ambushed. When you kill the 2 generals you automatically receive the weapon. See the 10 level weapon section above. Q: How do I get the stage Jiang Wei's 10th level is at? A: On whatever chapter Chi Bi is at on Shu musou skip the other places and just do chi bi. There let the enemy kill Zhuge to stop the winds and then kill Cao Cao right away. Look above sections. Q: How has Jiang Wei improved from 3? A: His: stats are better along with better weapons more speed and a very much greater reach. Q: What is your opinion on Jiang Wei? A: I think he is the True Hero of the Three Kingdoms. He was the closest anyone else was to restoring the Han. He was also very good in strategy's thanks to Zhuge's book and nonetheless a very skilled fighter. He was also very smart and was just as capable as being a strategist or adviser as a fighter. Q: What items do you prefer on Jiang Wei? A: I prefer Attack up Defense up HP up and Musou up and the last space is usually what ever you prefer since he works well with most items. I prefer speed scroll to make him even faster or an elixer to increase the musou. Q: What is the best jade for Jiang Wei? A: I like poison, fire, and lightning. Those are his three best. I use all 3 on different occasions. Q: Would you consider Jiang Wei as top tier, mid tier, or low tier? A: Definitely of the top tier. He is one of the best generals of the 3 kingdoms and a guy who is interesting and worthwhile to learn about him. ( 9. Attack speed- great This is something that saves his ass in battle, he attacks fast in charge attacks but especially for normal attacks, this gives the enemy no time to hit you while attacking.
