Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Password FAQ w/ Level 160 passwords

This FAQ is for those who don’t understand the password aspect for Tenkaichi 
2. This can be used for the Wii version and the PS2 version. Since it is my 
first FAQ it won’t be perfect, but it is worth a try. It will cover most 
things associated with passwords like Z-items and “custom“ characters. Well 
lets get started shall we. If you have any problems with the passwords

Note: Either on the Tenkaichi 2 or by e-mail can you ask me for password 
help. (ex. This guy’s balance password doesn’t work.) I’ll test them again to 
see if they work or not. Some of these passwords might have been canceled out 
(don’t know the word I was thinking of).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Password? What do they do?

A password is a bunch of  random characters (letters and symbols) that are 
generated so you can put them into the game to be able to use other 
people’s “custom” characters. You can either play with or go against other 
people’s “custom” characters.

What are “custom” characters? How do I make my own character?

You can’t actually create your own character. “Custom” characters are 
characters that have Z-items equipped to them. You can go to Z-item 
Collection in the Evolution Z menu to equip there or when you are picking 
your character you can pick Evolution Z from there to work on them quicker.

What are Z-items?

Z-items are used  to power up or give abilities to your character. There are 
Blue Potara and Yellow Potara that you can equip. Blue Potara are the Z-items 
that up your stats and raise your level (ex. Health +1, Blast 2 +5, etc.). 
You can level these up by going through Dragon Adventure and Ultimate Battle 
Z, but you‘ll need them equipped to the character you‘re using.. Yellow 
Potara can raise your stats (and level) and/or give you some abilities to 
help you in a fight (ex. Halo, Oolong‘s support, etc.). These are the type 
that you can’t level up. 

You can only put 7 Z-items on each character. Some slots may be shaded out on 
most characters so you will need to use Blue “Equipment slots” Potara or 
Yellow Potara that have the same function.  Those Yellow “Equipment Slots” 
Potara also raise the characters stats or give them abilities (ex. Generic 
Power, Piccolo‘s Uniform, etc.). 

What is Logic?

Logic is used for the AI in this game. It is how the AI fights in a match 
(moves that they do). I’ll explain the different ones.
Balance: uses melee and ki attacks (Blast 2’s) equally. Some people have said 
that this is more like the Powerful logic.
Powerful: uses more melee attacks than ki based.
Technical: uses more ki based attacks than melee.

^For some characters Powerful and Technical switch up so Powerful is now 
Technical and vice versa (ex. Burter using mostly ki based attacks on 
Powerful).
 
How can I generate my own password?

You go to Evolution Z from the main menu and pick Z-item collection. You then 
pick the character and you can check if you have the Z-items you want on them 
and the logic you would want the AI using the character to use. After that 
you push Password and it generates a password. Make sure to copy it down so 
you can give it to others or use it for yourself. A password will be randomly 
generated every time you push password on that screen so it will never be the 
same password for the same character every time you generate one.

How do you enter in a password?

You go to the Data Center from the main menu and go to enter password. The 
password you have should have 32 characters (letters and symbols) for 
Tenkaichi 2 passwords or 36 characters for Budokai 3 passwords. When you 
enter a Tenkaichi 2 password there will be 4 spaces left over at the bottom. 
You don’t need to put anything in there since the spaces are only used for 
Budokai 3 passwords.

After you ok the password (if it’s correct), it will then show the character 
the password is for. You can then save the password character in one of the 
10 spaces available. You can only save up to 10 password characters. If you 
enter another one you will need to overwrite one of the characters.

After I generated a password I tried putting it in. It didn’t work. What’s 
wrong?

You have just made that password. That password is for one of your custom 
characters. I think that if the password character has the same Z-item setup 
as the same custom character (Password Vegeta having the same setup as your 
Custom Vegeta) it won’t work. Try taking an item off of your custom character 
before putting in the password again.

Do passwords unlock the character for you?

Short answer: No 
Long answer: It won’t unlock the character for your game. You still have to 
do that by yourself. You can use the password character of the character you 
haven’t unlocked. Also, if the character has a transformation and you haven’t 
unlocked it yet you can’t transform.

I put in a password for *put transformaton or fusion here* but it gave me 
this character. Why won’t it give me this form?

Because transformations are linked to their owners. It displays their first 
form when the password is processed. When you’re picking your character just 
go to where the password character is and go through the forms and you’ll 
find that form you’re looking for. It isn’t that hard to understand.

Do these passwords work on Tenkaichi 3?

Yes, they should. Just put it in regularly and it should. There will be 
spaces left after you put the whole password in. Don’t put anything in those 
spaces, just hit done. Which leads to the next area below.

Using Tenkaichi 2 passwords on Tenkaichi 3
There were some people talking about using  BT2 passwords on BT3. As far as I 
know all these passwords should work. Someone named VampireSlayerCD on the 
Wii Tenkaichi 3 board tried a few of these passwords (Kid Gohan and SS4 Goku) 
and they worked. I think some people on the PS2 Tenkaichi 3 board did too. I 
tried a few and they worked. So I’m updating to include this info. 
You should know that every character in the FAQ is at level 160 which is the 
max, has a combination of Title Tenkaichi & Kiss of #18 (3 Tenkaichi & 2 
Kiss), a Halo or Majin Seal and/or may have Genuine Power if they only need 
to open 2 equipment slots. I’ve tried good and evil characters. Here are the 
items they have equipped when transferred to Tenkaichi 3.

Ultimate Warrior 3- A red potara(not regularly obtainable) that gives the 
plus effect which increases Attack, Defense, Ki and Super
Dragon Crush- A yellow potara that gives the plus effect, Dragon  Homing +2
Master Roshi’s Training- A yellow potara that gives you +10,000 Health

It shouldn’t matter which logic the password is since the logic system from 
Tenkaichi 2 is kind of gone from 3 (Z-items you can use in Tenkaichi 3 to 
change how the AI fight with the characters). So if one doesn’t work, try one 
of the other two. To add, some characters that got another form added to 
Tenkaichi 3 (Goku & Piccolo); their passwords will use their Late/End forms. 
SS4 Goku’s password will give you Goku GT for example since he‘s part of the 
new Goku GT form.

Level 160 Character Passwords w/ extra characters
Now these are the passwords that are featured in this FAQ. These passwords 
are for every character in the game complete with all three logics at the max 
level. This also has the extra characters that were featured in the PAL
(Europe), JPN(Japan), and AUS(Australia) Wii versions of the game. Those 
passwords DO NOT work in the American Wii version or any of the PS2 versions 
out right now. Don’t try because it has been confirmed a bunch of times. You 
can thank Kirfalas for those passwords along with a lot of others listed. 
Also, these passwords (except for the extra characters) work on every version 
of the game.

This will be the guideline. The characters under this (*) are the passwords 
that I did. The characters under this (**) are the ones Kirfalas did. If you 
want to search for a specific character use the Ctrl +F (for windows users) 
or Find function on your browser and type in their first form name. Some like 
Frieza or Cell that have 1st form for their first form name you don’t have to 
type 1st form in, just their name. The characters transformations and fusions 
are listed next to that character.

The characters are also listed in order from which row they are in (except 
for extras).
