Let's begin. ----- Goku [GKU] ----- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel, US) First appeared as a child in the popular TV-anime Dragonball, Goku continues his leading role as an adult in the follow-up series Dragon Ball Z. Born on Planet Vegeta, our hero began his life as the Saiyan "Kakarot". A low-class warrior by birth, the infant Kakarot, second son of Bardock, was sent to Earth just before Planet Vegeta's destruction. After arriving on Earth, however, he met with an unexpected accident which cost him his memory. He was found by a kindly old man named Gohan, who took the boy into his care and raised him as his very own son. It was Gohan who gave young Kakarot the name by which he is known - "Goku". Since his first encounter with Bulma and the ensuing quest to find the seven magic Dragonballs, Goku has encountered many fierce opponents who have pushed him to test his limits in both body and spirit. He has even started a family with his wife, Chi-Chi. As Goku has grown, however, so have the stakes for which he fights. The fate for the entire universe now rests on Goku's shoulders as he battles increasingly powerful adversaries such as Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu. Always willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good, Goku has felt the sting of death two times, first in the battle against his brother Raditz, and again during the explosive climax of the battle with Cell. But not even death can stop Goku! Because of his heroic efforts, he is allowed to continue his training in Other World until such time as he can be wished back to life by the power of the Dragonballs. After defeating the evil Kid Buu and bringing peace back to the universe, Goku departed with the reincarated form of Buu, the young boy Uub, in order to train him. Together, Goku and Uub can continue to push their strength to the edge of their limits and beyond. Later, in Dragonball GT, Goku is returned to his boyhood form by the Black Star Dragonballs, and must embark on a journey that spans the universe in order to save the Earth. Since the first transforming into a legendary Super Saiyan during the ferocious battle against Frieza on Planet Namek, Goku has been able to push himself to ever-higher levels of power through intense training. He has demonstrated these powers in battle, transforming into Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, and the ultimate Super Saiyan 4. Among Goku's favored special-techniques are the Kamehameha Wave, the Spirit Bomb, Kaio-Ken, and Instant Transmission. He is also adept at using the techniques of his friends, such as the Destructo Disc and Solar Flare. Goku's greatest weakness - and perhaps only - weakness is his inability to stand up to his wife ChiChi, who constantly hounds him to quit his "karate-bum" lifestyle and get a real job. ------------------ Goku Super Saiyan [SSGKU] ------------------ (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel, US) Goku's Super Saiyan form. Tales of the legendary Super Saiyans of old had been passed down for a thousand years, but even among Saiyans themselves, there was much doubt that such a form ever actually existed. In truth, any Saiyan whose power level is above a certain threshold has the potential to become a Super Saiyan. Only those with a calm, still heart are able to achieve the Super Saiyan state; and even then, only by suffering an extreme sense of danger, anger, or sadness can the power actually be awakened. In Goku's case, witnessing Krillin's death at the hands of Frieza (Final Form) was the key to his transformation. The energy involved in a Super Saiyan transformation causes the hair to stand on end and turn a golden color. The facial expression is sharpened, and the color of the irises turns to a bright emerald green. A Super Saiyan's power-level is fifty times greater than that of his normal state. The massive energies involved causes the emotions to become stirred, and make it difficult to remain calm. As a downside to the transformation, illnesses progress much more rapidly in this form, perhaps because of the body's increased metabolic activity. There are no particular changes to the techniques Goku uses while his Super Saiyan state, although, since he possesses a much higher power-level, each of his techniques packs a much greater punch. -------------------- Goku Super Saiyan 2 [SS2GKU] -------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel, US) Goku's appearance after the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. Having achieved the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan, it is possible to reach this higher form through further training and battle experience, or through a burst of extreme anger. During the Super Saiyan 2 transformation, in addition to the increase length of the hair and sharpening of the features, the air around the body surges with a lightning-like aura. Those who achieve this form all share a similiar increase in power over the first Super Saiyan state, but changes in personality can vary widely, depending on the factors leading to the transformation. In Goku's case, after dying during the final battle of Perfect Cell, he gained the ability to achieve this transformation while training in Other World. Goku used this form to battle Majin Vegeta, after the Saiyan prince had been subverted by Babadi's powers. --------------------- Goku Super Saiyan 3 [SS3GKU] --------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel, US) Goku's appearance after the Super Saiyan 3 transformation, which he discovered during intensive training in Other World. In this form, the hidden powers of a Saiyan are tapped to the fullest. Noteable physical features include extreme growth of the golden hair and the disappearance of the eyebrows. A Saiyan's power level is increased dramatically in this form. In order to maintain this powerful transformation, a great deal of energy must be consumed. As such, the form is only sustainable for a very brief time outside of Other World. Goku gained the ability to achieve this form through intense training in Otherworld. He knew that performing the transformation while on his visit to Earth would drastically reduce the amount of time he was able to stay in this form. Therefore, he fought Majin Vegeta in his Super Saiyan 2 form, and only resorted to the Super Saiyan 3 form against Majin Buu (Good) in order to buy much needed time. Later, in the final battle against Kid Buu on the Supreme Kai's planet, Goku was able to utilize this transformation to fight an evenly matched battle with thw monster. However, he was unable to find enough time to store the energy necessary for a finishing blow. Thus, the battle ended in a draw. In Dragonball GT, after being reduced to his boyhood form, Goku us still able to make the transformation, though with a more youthful appearance. --------------------- Goku Super Saiyan 4 [SS4GKU] --------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel, US) The ultimate Saiyan form, first displayed by Goku in Dragonball GT. Only Super Saiyans who can maintain their rationality while becoming Great Apes can attain this form, which boasts the greatest power level of any Super Saiyan type. The golden hair and the golden aura that were key characteristics of previous Super Saiyan transformation disappear, and are replaced by black hair and reddish fur over the top half of the body, both being features never seen before. Having lost his tail long ago, Goku was unable to transform into a Great Ape. The Elder Supreme Kai used his powers to help Goku regrow his tail once again, thus restoring his lost abilty. As Goku transformed, he lost all rationality and began to run wild. But seeing the tears of his granddaughter Pan, he recovered his senses and successfully transformed into a Super Saiyan 4. While in this form, Goku's personality becomes one of composed combativeness. The increased power level also enables him to use super-charged fighting techniques, such as the 10x Kamehameha. ------- Vegeta [VGTA] ------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) An elite warrior of the Saiyan Race and the prince of the Planet Vegeta. Born as a prince of Planet Vegeta, he was blessed with a gift of fighting. While he was conquering other worlds as one of Frieza's servants, his home planet Vegeta was destroyed by Frieza. After receiving a transmission from Raditz, Vegeta learned that there were Dragonballs on Earth which could grant any wish. He proceeded to Earth, where he first met and fought against his eternal rival, Goku. While on Planet Namek, Vegeta found himself fighting on the side of Goku and his friends, in a joint effort to defeat Frieza. He was unable to withstand the power of Frieza's final form, however, as a single blast from the evil tyrant ended Vegeta's life. Having been restored to life by the Namekian dragon Porunga, Vegeta took up residence at Bulma's house, devoting his days to intense training. As time went on, he and Bulma grew closer, and ever since, he has fought alongside Goku as one of the Earth's greatest defenders. Vegeta's enormous sense of pride will not be satisfied until he has become the greatest Saiyan. No matter how far he pushes himself through training, however, it seems Goku is always one step beyond him. For this reason, Vegeta harbors complex feelings of anger and envy toward Goku. The fact that Vegeta is always second to Goku causes him considerable anguish. In order to prove himself the mightiest Saiyan once and for all, Vegeta allowed himself to be controlled by the wizard Babidi. As Majin Vegeta, he then used his new powers to challenge Goku to battle. However, at the revival of Majin Buu, he was forced to abandon the fight before its final conclusion. Following the interruption of his battle with Goku, Vegeta sacrificed his own life to save the Earth, blowing himself up in an effort to rid the world of Majin Buu. He was later returned to life through the power of the Dragonballs, and during the final battle against Kid Buu, he set aside his pride and fought united with Goku. Although he was forced to admit that Goku was the greatest Saiyan during the final battle with Kid Buu, Vegeta's desire to be the best remained unchanged, and he continued his rigorous training in the hopes of one day surpassing his rival. Intially, Vegeta possessed the cruel, killer instinct of a Saiyan warrior, but during his time on Earth, his heart gradually began to soften. Even so, his warrior's pride remains intact, making it difficult for him to express any sort of affection. Among Vegeta's favored fighting techniques are energy blasts such as the Gallic Gun. After he transform into a Super Saiyan. he adds additional moves to his arsenal, such as the Final Flash. In Dragonball GT, Vegeta changed his hairstyle and grows a mustache. He receives a tremendous shock, however, when his daughter, Bra tells him that the mustache does not suit him, and he ends up shaving it off. -------------------- Vegeta Super Saiyan [SSVGTA] -------------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta's Super Saiyan form. In Vegeta's case, the anger at his own inability to surpass Goku fueled his transformation. The energy involved in a Super Saiyan transformation causes the hair to stand on end and turn a golden color. The facial expression is sharpened, and the color of the irises turns to a bright emerald green. A Super Saiyan's power-level is fifty times greater than that of his normal state. The massive energies involved causes the emotions to become stirred, and in Vegeta's case, cause him to become even more aggressive and belligerent. The first time Vegeta appears in this form, he uses a powerful new finishing move, the Big Bang Attack, to dispose of Android 19. --------------------------- Super Vegeta Super Saiyan [SSVGTA2] --------------------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta's form after attaining a power level-beyond that of a Super Saiyan. This form has also been referred to as an Ascended Saiyan, or Super Saiyan Second Stage, and is not to be confused with the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. After being humiliated by Android 18, and realizing that his Super Saiyan powers did not yet make him invincible, Vegeta trained with Future Trunks inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where he discovered this powerful transformation. When taking this form, Vegeta's muscles swell, making his body several sizes larger than normal. Otherwise, there are no exceptional changes in his physical appearance. The lightning-like aura associated with the Super Saiyan 2 transformation is not present in this form. While in this form, Vegeta's speed and power are elevated far beyond his previous Super Saiyan limits. He is also able to use a new super finishing move, the Final Flash. Incidentally, there is an even more specialized transformation beyond this second stage, called Super Saiyan Third Stage. In this stage, however, the increase in power comes at a cost of reduced speed and mobility, and the strain upon the body is intensified, thus making the transformation impractical. ------------- Majin Vegeta [MVGTA] ------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta, after his latest abilities have been fully unleashed by the wizard Babidi's spell. After the final battle with Cell, Vegeta continued his intensive training in the hopes of surpassing Goku and regaining his title as the mightiest Saiyan. However, as he watched Goku's battle with Yakon inside Babidi's spaceship, Vegeta was shocked to discover that he had not closed the gap between himself and Goku in the least. Vegeta concluded that this gap could be bridged if he allowed himself to be controlled by Babidi and thereby returned to the way he used to be, posessed of a cruel warrior's heart, unhindered by concern for family and friends. Thus, Vegeta submitted to Babidi's power and became Majin Vegeta. After using Babidi's spell to draw out his power, Vegeta's fierce pride enabled him to disobey the wizard's commands. Instead, he challenged Goku to a long-awaited battle. The fight was so intense, but because their powers were so evenly matched, the battle eventually ended in a draw. Unfortunately, the massive amounts of energy released had already succeeded in reviving the monster Majin Buu. In order to defeat Majin Buu, who had been revived because of his own selfishness, Vegeta bid farewell to his family and friends and blew himself up in a massive flash of energy. Unfortunately, Buu was not completely destroyed by the blast, and Vegeta's noble sacrifice was in vain. As Majin Vegeta, there are no significant changes to his key techniques. But since his powers have been boosted to their maximum levels, the force of his attacks are increased substantially. In this form, Vegeta's strength may be equivalent to that of a Super Saiyan 2. One indication of this is the lightning-like aura surrounding his body, a key characteristic of the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. ----------------------- Vegeta Super Saiyan 2 [SS2VGTA] ----------------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta's appearance after achieving the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. In Vegeta's case, the ability to take this form was earned through many years of intense training. We first see Vegeta undergo this transformation as he stands against Kid Buu, holding the monster at bay while Goku gathers the energy for the Spirit Bomb. ---------------------- Vegeta Super Saiyan 4 [SS4VGTA] ---------------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta's ultimate form, which can be seen in Dragonball GT. Only Super Saiyans who can maintain their rationality while becoming Great Apes can attain this form, which boasts the greatest power level of any Super Saiyan type. In the final battle with Omega Shenron, Vegeta transforms into a Great Ape with the aid of a Blutz Wave Amplifier created by Bulma, which then enabled him to take this ultimate form. As with Goku, the golden hair and the golden aura that were key characteristics of previous Super Saiyan transformation disappear. These are replaced by reddish fur over the top half of his body, and the black hair sporting a reddish tinge. In the storyline, Vegeta underwent Fusion with Goku soon after taking this form, so the variety of techniques and fighting styles available to him have yet to be seen. ----------------- Vegeta (Scouter) [VGTAS] ----------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta, as he appeared during his first arrival on Earth, equipped with the scouter. Vegeta lived his life as a servant to Frieza, conquering many worlds in the name of the cruel tyrant. Upon learning of the Earth Dragonballs, however, he came to Earth at once. By using the Dragonballs to wish for immortality, Vegeta hoped to free himself from Frieza's rule once and for all. Little did he realize, Goku and his friends would be ready to meet his threat. Unable to sense power levels on his own, Vegeta relied on his scouter to detect the presence of others. He was belligerent and cruel, as befitting a pure-blooded Saiyan warrior, and his merciless attacks caused Goku and his friends great suffering. After Goku's Kaio-ken and Spirit Bomb techniques proved to be more than a match for Vegeta, the Saiyan created a Power Ball to transform himself into a Great Ape. His victory would have been assured, had Yajirobe not succeeded in cutting off his tail. In his weakened state, Vegeta was unable to withstand Gohan's transformation into a Great Ape, and he was forced to retreat. His pride seriously wounded, Vegeta berated himself for relying too heavily on his scouter. Once he recovered from his injuries, he began training himself to sense power levels on his own, and quickly mastered the technique. Vegeta then turned against Frieza, and he announced his intentions by destroying the tyrant's henchman Cui. Later, during a surprise attack on Dodoria, Vegeta destroyed his Scouter as a demonstration of his new abilities. ------------------- Great Ape (Vegeta) [GAVGTA] ------------------- (CV: Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Vegeta, transformed into his Great Ape form. When Vegeta attacked Earth with Nappa, and first fought against Goku, he suffered a great deal of damage from Goku's 3X Kaio-ken Kamehameha. He became so enraged that he changed into this form. At the time Earth did not have a moon. It had earlier been destroyed by Piccolo in order to stop Gohan, who had become a Great Ape, so Vegeta used a Power Ball to create an artificial full moon and then transformed successfully. Unlike other Saiyans, Vegeta was able to maintain his rationality even as a Great Ape, and proceeded to punish Goku with ten times the battle power he ordinarily had. But when Krillin and Gohan distracted him, Yajirobe was able to cut off his tail with his sword, returning Vegeta to normal. Vegeta's favorite moves in this form include the Rock Throw and the Super Mouth Blast. With his overwhelming stature and power, his fighting style never lets up in its intensity. The process necessary for a Saiyan to become a Great Ape involves their eyes absorbing special rays called Blutz Waves. These rays only occur when light from the sun is reflected by a full moon, which then causes a response in the Saiyan's tails that leads to transformation. However, for this transformation to be successful, the Blutz Waves must reach an intensity greater than 17 million Zenos. However, a limited number of Saiyans, including Vegeta, are able to create a Power Ball and mix it with the oxygen on the planet to create an artificial full moon. If the Blutz Waves are at a level of 17 million Zenos or higher, then transformation is possible. -------- Piccolo [PICLO] -------- (CV: Toshio Furukawa, JP/ Chris Sabet, US) The alter-ego of King Piccolo, the greatest rival Goku faced as a boy. Sometimes uses the name Majunior. Born of King Piccolo after his defeat at the hands of young Goku, Piccolo later emerged as a participant in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. In the final bout, he waged a mighty battle against the grown-up Goku in an effort to extract his revenge. Though he had allied himself with Goku during the battle of Raditz, in order to achieve victory, Piccolo was forced to fire a Special Beam Cannon that eliminated Goku and Raditz both. Piccolo then took it upon himself to train Goku's son Gohan in preparation for the arrival of the Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa. It was during this time that Piccolo's heart first began to soften, and the evil therein began to melt away. During the battle with the Saiyans, Piccolo sacrificed his own life to save Gohan from Nappa's attack. After this selfless act, even Kami had to acknowledge the good that had entered Piccolo's heart. After being brought back to life by the Namekian Dragonballs, Piccolo increased his power level by merging with the Namekian warrior Nail. With his amazing new strength, Piccolo was an even match for Frieza in his second form. However, when Frieza powered up into his third form, Piccolo was unable to withstand the tyrant's devastating techniques. After returning from Planet Namek, rather than accompany the other Namekians to their new planet, Piccolo chose to remain on Earth, where he could continue his intensive training. Piccolo's favored techniques are the Destructive Wave and the Special Beam Cannon, though he uses many techniques derived from the fighting style of King Piccolo. Though the Namekians are generally a good-natured lot, Piccolo's surly demeanor sets him apart from his brothers. With his virtually nonexistent sense of humor, he is very poor at telling jokes. For this reason, he had a difficult time being accepted as one of King Kai's pupils. -------- Krillin [KRLN] -------- (CV: Mayumi Tanaka, JP/ Sonny Strait, US) A martial artist of the Turtle School Style, and Goku's best friend. Hoping to make himself attractive to girls, he joined the Orinji Temple. Constantly frustrated by the hazing of the superiors. he eventually had as much as he could stand. He left the temple and sought out the legendary martial artist Master Roshi, and together with Goku, he became his pupil. As a boy, Krillin had a rather devious nature, but as his training with Goku prograssed he eventually learned to be more well-behaved. Over time, he and Goku grew to be best friends. Krillin has suffered one tragic fate after another, beginning with his death at the hands of Tambourine, one of King Piccolo's henchman. He has also been blown to bits by Frieza on Planet Namek, felled with one strike by Cell in his Perfect Form, turned into stone by Dabura, and in Dragonball GT, killed by Super Android 17. Undaunted by these minor setbacks, Krillin continued to train, and eventually became the strongest Earthling warrior. After Cell's defeat, Krillin married Android 18, and together they had an adorable little daughter, Maron (named after Krillin's first girlfriend). His favorite moves include the Destructo Disc, Kamehameha Wave, and Spreading Energy Blast. When he first appeared, Krillin had neither nose nor hair. As he merely shaved his hair for the sake of martial arts, he eventually grew it out after marrying Android 18. Unfortunately, he was never able to grow a nose. ------- Yamcha [YMCHA] ------- (CV: Toru Furuya, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US.) A martial artist and former bandit, he was Goku's first rival to appear in the story. Known in the past as Yamcha the Hyena, he would make his living by extorting money or Capsules from those who crossed through his territory in the desert. At first, he saw Goku as an enemy, but along the journey to find the Dragon Balls, they gradually started to get along, ultimately becoming friends. Afterward, he and Bulma dated each other, and he lived in West City with her family. After the fall of the Red Ribbon Army, he followed after Goku and Krillin and polished his fighting skills. During the battle against Vegeta, Yamcha loses his life to the self-detructive Saibaman. In the fight against the Androids, Android 20 delivers Yamcha a fist through his chest, forcing him to retreat from the front lines. Yamcha is the unfortunate character who always seems to fizzle out first in battle. (It should be noted that in all three World Tournaments he, each time, is eliminated in the first round.) Early on, he was extremly shy around women, so much that he would become uncontrollably flustered when one simply crossed his path. He overcame his weakness through interaction with Bulma, and actually became somewhat of a playboy. After many years of being fickle in his relationship with Bulma, she dumped him. This didn't seem to curb his tendency to chase women. His favorite techniques include the Wolf Fang Fist and Spirit Ball, and his fighting style is one based on speed. In the original TV anime, he was recruited as a professional baseball player, where he his consecutive home runs in three at bats. ----- Tien [TEN] ----- (CV: Hirotaka Suzuoki, JP/ John Burgmeier, US) A conscientious martial artist of the Crane style. Hoping to become an assassin, he studied the Crane style of martial arts. Early in his carrer, his methods could be quite brutal, as when he broke Yamcha's leg during the World Tournament. However, after recieving some sound advice from Master Roshi, and after witnessing Goku's strength and purity of heart firsthand, Tien realized the errors of his ways. He and his fellow pupil, Chiaotzu, began to distance themselves from the Crane school. Tien and Chiaotzu journeyed throughout the world as they continued their training. But no matter how far they might roam, in times of crisis, they quickly returned to their friends, ready to fight. In the battle against Vegeta, Tien sacrificed his life in an attempt to avenge the death of Chiaotzu. In Other World, he was allowed to train with King Kai until such time as he could be revived by the Dragonballs. Tien has challenged many powerful foes, only to be defeated time and time again. This does not prevent him from fighting valiantly, however, as when he prevented Cell from absorbing Android 18, or when he prevented Majin Buu's would-be attempt on Dende's life. Though at one time he mistakenly followed the path of the assassin, Tien's good character eventually shone through. Since that time, he has become a pure martial artist, whose only desire is to become stronger. Among his favorite moves are the Tri-Beam and the Solar Flare. As a decendant of aliens, his body possesses unique characteristics which he demonstrates often in the Dragonball series, such as his ability to split himself into four separate fighters or sprout extra arms from his shoulders - unthinkable behavior, as far as normal Earthlings are concerned. Blonde Launch became quite smitten with Tien and pursued him relentlessly for a time. She never did catch him, however, for Tien was single-minded about his training. --------- Chiaotzu [CHATZU] --------- (CV: Hiroko Ermori, JP/ Monica Antonelli, US) A martial artist of the Crane style, as well as an accomplished cook. Chiaotzu began his training in the Crane style of assassination techniques, but eventually quit the Crane school along with Tien. Together, the two of them traveled the world in order to seek out their own training. Chiaotzu was killed while attempting to prevent King Piccolo from summoning the dragon Shenron, though he was later brought back to life with the Dragonballs. Later, Chiaotzu sacrificed himself yet again in an effort to defeat the Saiyan Nappa. After training with King Kai in Other World, Chiaotzu is again brought back to life, this time by the power of the Namekian dragon Porunga. Afterwards, he and Tien continued their wanderings throughout the world. Having already been wished back to life twice, Tien judged it best for Chiaotzu to avoid dangerous battles, thus he often remained behind while Tien went off to fight. With the pale skin of a Kyonshi Vampire, he is a person of extremely small stature with only a single strand of hair growing out of his head and circles on his cheeks. He is poor at arithmetic, and has the weakness of not being able to add or subtract without counting on his fingers. He reveres Tien, and has proved his loyalty to his friend on more than one occasion. His favorite techniques include the Dodon Ray and telekinesis (a paralyzation technique). He often tries to stop an enemy's movement while floating in mid-air. Chiaotzu's telekinesis is also able to alter the numbers on lottery ballots. ---------- Kid Gohan [KGHAN] ---------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Stephanie Nadolny, US) Goku's son, Gohan, as a young boy. He appears throughout the anime series Dragonball Z. Though he has never been trained in the martial arts in accordance with Chichi's wishes that he instead spend his energies focusing on education, Gohan still has a tremendous power lying dormant within him. This vast potential is duein large part to Gohan's mixed Saiyan/Earthling heritage. Gohan's unique abilities manifest themselves in moments of extreme stress, when he loses control of his emotions and his rage explodes in an amazing display of power. During Goku's battle with Raditz, Gohan's anger erupted at the sight of his father's suffering, and his power level surged to incredible heights. This burst of power enabled him to deal a crippling blow to Raditz. After the battle with Raditz, the Z-Fighter prepared to stand against Vegeta and Nappa, the two Saiyans who would be arriving on Earth in a year's time. Piccolo noticed Gohan's hidden abilities and took him into the wilderness in order to train him to become a powerful warrior. During this time, little by little, Gohan managed to earn a place in Piccolo's heart. After Gohan's transformation into a Great Ape forced Vegeta's retreat from Earth, Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma journwyed to Planet Namek, hoping to find the Namekian Dragonballs and wish Piccolo and the rest of their fallen friends back to life. Once there, they encountered Frieza and his evil henchman, and entered into a desperate race for the Dragonballs. As a warrior, Gohan possesses an extraordinary power level, but die to his gentle nature and general dislike for fighting, he enters battle only as a last resort. Having inherited his father's sense of jusice, however, Gohan will fight courageously in order to protect the peace and in the defense of his friends. His dream is to become a scholar in the future. At this age, Gohan's favored battle techniques is the Masenko blast. When Gohan's sleeping abilities are awakened, however, the resulting increase in his power level gives any of his attacks the potential to be a finishing move. ----------- Teen Gohan [TGHAN] ----------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Stephanie Nadolny, US) Goku's son, Gohan, as a pre-teen. After returning from Planet Namek, Gohan devoted himself to school work as he and Chichi awaited Goku's return. But when a mysterious youth named Trunks traveled from the future to warn the Z-Fighters of a pair of deadly Androids that would soon terrorize the Earth, Gohan's studies were once again put on hold as he trained with Goku and Piccolo in order to meet the threat. As Gohan has grown from a small child into a pre-teen, and as he has continued his rigorous training with his father and Piccolo, Gohan's power-level has increased substantially. However, Gohan's scholarly pursuits have only served to reinforce his dislike for fighting, and he has displayed an increasing reluctance to use his hidden powers. Gohan still maintains a master-pupil relationship with Piccolo, who chose to remain on Earth rather than live on New Namek with the other members of his race. And after Piccolo began to live on Kami's Lookout, Gohan would go there to visit whenever he could. Since going through training with Goku, Gohan has learned to use the Kamehameha Wave in addition to the techniques he learned from Piccolo, such as the Masenko Blast. ------------------------ Teen Gohan Super Saiyan [SSTGHAN] ------------------------ (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Stephanie Nadolny, US) Goku's son, Gohan, in his transformation state. Only those with a calm, still heart are able to achieve the Super Saiyan state; and even then, only by suffering an extreme sense of danger, anger, or sadness can the power actually be awakened. Gohan first achieved this transformation during an intense period of training with his father inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Gohan's transformation into a Super Saiyan dramatically increased his hidden abilities, which in turn gave him the potential to surpass even Goku as a warrior. Realizing this fact, Goku asked Gohan to use his powers to defeat Perfect Cell. Despite having achieved the status of Super Saiyan, however, Gohan's dislike for fighting and his reluctance to use his hidden powers remained intact, leading him to withdraw from the battle before achieving a conclusive victory. There are no particular changes to the techniques Gohan uses while in Super Saiyan state, although, since he possesses a much higher power level, each of his techniques packs a much greater punch. --------------------------- Teen Gohan Super Saiyan 2 [SS2TGHAN] --------------------------- (CV: Masako Nazowa, JP/ Stephanie Nadolny, US) Goku's son, Gohan, after the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. Those who achieve this form all share a similiar increase in power over the first Super Saiyan state. In Gohan's case, the transformation was trigerred after witnessing the Cell Juniors' assult on his friends and the destruction of Android 16. As his rage erupted, Gohan's normally gentle nature was replaced by a fierce combativeness. Gohan is not able to take this form as freely as Goku or Vegeta, and can be often only achieve it through an explosion of emotion. This may be due to the fact that he has not endured the same level of training as his father. Or it may be that his reluctance to use his hidden abilities acts as a sort of limiter for him. There are no particular changes to the techniques Gohan uses while in the Super Saiyan 2 state, although at this extreme power level, any if his techniques has the potential to be a one-shot finishing move. ------ Gohan [GHAN] ------ (CV: Masako Nazowa, JP/ Kyle Hebert, US) Gohan, son of Goku, as a teenager. Having defeated Cell and secured peace for the world, Gohan went back to living a quiet life with Chichi and his younger brother Goten in their secluded mountain home. He continued his education through self-study and correspondence courses, but when he turned 16, Gohan began attending Orange Star High School in Hercule City, where he met Videl. In addition to his life as a normal high-school student, Gohan maintains a secret identity as the Champion of Justice, Great Saiyaman. Though still incredibly strong, Gohan had neglected his training since the battle with Cell, and his powers were not at their peak. But when he learned that his father would be returning to Earth for one day to participate in the World Martial Arts Tournament, Gohan began training with Goten to get back into fighting shape. After the defeat of Kid Buu, Gohan again devotes himself to his studies, fulfilling his dream of becoming a scholar. It was during this time that Gohan married Videl, and together they had a daughter named Pan. A veteran of battles that have decided the fate of the world, Gohan tends to be a bit happy-go-lucky in times of peace, and his behavior often borders on silly (as when he is performing one of Great Saiyaman's posing routines). But he is a kind older brother, and he takes good care of his younger brother Goten. There are a few significant changes to Gohan's fighting style in this form, though since his reach is longer now than when he was a child, the distance he maintains with an opponent is subtly different. In Trunks' dark future world, where Goku succumbed to a deadly heart virus, we meet a much different Teen Gohan. This Gohan acts as Trunks' master, training him in the martial arts. Gohan waged a valiant war against Androids 17 and 18, until he was finally killed by Android 17. ------------------- Gohan Super Saiyan [SSGHAN] ------------------- (CV: Masako Nazowa, JP/ Kyle Hebert, US) Gohan, as a teenager, in his Super Saiyan form. As a Super Saiyan, his power level is increased dramatically, but his lack of training in recent years is still quite apparent. He has a difficult time in the fight against Dabura, and while attempting to protect the Supreme Kai from Majin Buu, he is nearly killed by Buu's attack. --------------------- Gohan Super Saiyan 2 [SS2GHAN] --------------------- (CV: Masako Nazowa, JP/ Kyle Hebert, US) Teen Gohan, in his Super Saiyan 2 form. While participating in the 25th World Tournament as the Great Saiyaman, in an unusual display of boastfulness, Gohan demonstrated this transformation in response to Kibito's provocation. Spopovitch and Yamu then burst into the ring and drained Gohan's energy, leaving him unable to fight. This was the one and only time Gohan ever took this form. The reasons for this are not known. Could it be that his lack of training made this transformation too difficult? --------------- Ultimate Gohan [UGHAN] --------------- (CV: Masako Nazowa, JP/ Kyle Hebert, US) Teen Gohan's ultimate form, after his sleeping powers had been fully awakened by the Elder Supreme Kai's magic. After suffering a near-fatal attack from Majin Buu, Gohan was transported to the Supreme Kai's planet where he was healed by Kibito. Gohan then successfully drew the legendary Z-Sword, thus freeing the Elder Supreme Kai. As a reward, the Elder Kai used his slow but powerful magic to unlock all of Gohan's hidden abilities. Afterward, Gohan's power was so great that he was able to do serious damage to Buu without even transforming into Super Saiyan. Buu retreated from the battle of Gohan, returning only after he had absorbed Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo. Gohan's powers were no match for the new Buu, and in the end, he was also absorbed. Unlike the transformation to Super Saiyan, there are no significant changes to Goahn's appearance in this form, although his hairstyle and expression are subtly different. It is similar to the Super Saiyan 2 transformation, however, in the sense that Gohan tends to act much more brashly while in this state. There are no particular changes to the fighting techniques Gohan uses in this form, except that with his incredible power and speed operating at their maximum potential, he is able to fight with otherworldly skill. --------------- Great Saiyaman [GSMAN] --------------- (CV: Masako Nazowa, JP/ Kyle Hebert, US) Teen Gohan's secret superhero identity. In order to conceal his true identity, when battling crime, Gohan wears this special transformation suit specially developed by Bulma. When he dons his costume, he becomes the Champion of Justice, and is almost giddy in his search for evil to thwart. Though Gohan feels his mannerisms are quite impressive, most people who see him im action find his antics to be quite silly. When announcing his name, he goes through a series of exaggerated gestures, similar in many respects to the Ginyu Force's Special Fighting Poses. In Dragonball Z Movie 12, he battles a resurrected Frieza while wearing this getup, and does a splendid job of defending the peace. After starting to see Videl, she began teaming up with him as Great Saiyaman Mark 2, and together they thwarted evildoers everywhere. Before sprining into action, they have a special pose they perform together. ----------------- Trunks (w/ Sword [TRNKS] ----------------- (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Eric Vale, US) The half-Saiyan, half-Earthling son of Vegeta and Bulma, who traveled back in time in order to ensure the dark future in which he lived never came to pass. In order to save the Earth from a tragic future in which Goku succumbs to a lethal heart virus and the world is beseiged by a pair of merciless Androids, Trunks traveled from the future in a time capsule of his mother's invention to the world of the past, where he hoped to find Goku still alive. Upon reaching his destination in the past, Trunks quickly dispatched Mecha Frieza and King Cold, delivered a remedy to Goku that would stop the heart virus, and left a warning about the Androids who would appear in three years time. His mission complete, Trunks again boarded his time capsule and returned to the future. Despite the horrors of the future from which he came, Trunks has grown into a good-natured, if somewhat serious, young man. As the Androids had killed his father before he was old enough to remember, Trunks looked forward to meeting Vegeta on his journey to the past. Once there, he was shocked by Vegeta's cold-hearted nature and the apparent disregard he had for Bulma's safety. In the future, Trunks studied martial arts under his master Gohan, the last remaining Z-Fighter. It was Gohan's death that first triggered Trunks' transformation into a Super Saiyan. His favorite techniques include the Burning Attack and the Finish Buster, though he is also quite skillful with the sword he wears on his back. By preventing Goku's death, Trunks created a time paradox, the result of which was the creation of three alternate futures. The first was the tragic future that Trunks had known his entire life. In the second future, although Goku is still dead, Trunks is able to locate a suspension device to shut down the Androids. But since he has no knowledge of Cell's existence, he is unprepared for the monster's surprise attack. Cell quickly disposes of Trunks, and steals his time capsule to travel into the past. In the third timeline, Trunks' adventures in the past have prepared him for his return to the future, and upon his arrival he defeats both the Androids and Cell, thus ushering a new era of peace. In Dragonball Z Movie 13, we learn that Trunks' sword was given to him by the hero Tapion. ------------------------------ Trunks Super Saiyan (w/ Sword [SSTRNKS] ------------------------------ (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Eric Vale, US) Future Trunks, in his Super Saiyan form. He often fights using the sword he carries on his back. Using the time capsule of his mother's invention, Trunks traveled into the past in search of Goku. Once there, he used his Super Saiyan powers to easily defeat Mecha Frieza and King Cold. Only those with a calm, still heart are able to achieve the Super Saiyan state; and even then, only by suffering an extreme sense of danger, anger, or sadness can the power actually be awakened. In Trunks' case, his transformation was triggered after witnessing his master Gohan's death at the hands of Android 17 and 18. When transforming into his Super Saiyan state, Trunks' appearance is radically altered, and his power level increases dramatically. Even so, he always maintains his sincere, serious demeanor. While in this form, in addition to his Burning Attack and Finish Buster techniques, he can also use the Shining Sword Attack. This was the rush attack that defeated Mecha Frieza. The sword Trunks carries on his back was given to him by the hero Tapion. It was chipped when he attempted to save Vegeta from Android 18, and this was the last time he attempted to use it. ------------------ Trunks (Fighting) [TRNKSF] ------------------ (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Eric Vale, US) The half-Saiyan, half-Earthling son of Vegeta and Bulma, who traveled back in time in order to ensure the dark future in which he lived never came to pass. Since his sword was chipped while trying to save Vegeta from Android 18, he has cast it away, and now fights using his body alone.
After suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Android 17 and 18, he and Vegeta trained inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a year. In that time, his body has grown a little bit taller, but his power level has grown significantly, allowing him to perform a Super Saiyan Second Stage transformation. With the exception of those attacks that made use of his sword, Trunks has made few changes to his fighting style. However, due to the gains in speed and strength he has made through his training, his attacks are much more potent in this form. After being killed at the Cell Games and restored to life by the Dragonballs, Trunks returns to his future in the time capsule. Once there, he defeats Androids 17 and 18, as well as Cell, and restores peace to the world. Intially, Trunks was troubled by his father's cold-hearted nature. But after training with him for a year in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Trunks gradually began to understand what motivated his father, even if he didn't always agree. Later, when Trunks learned of Vegeta's outrage over his son's death at the hands of Cell, he realized that Vegeta did hold some genuine affection in his heart. And as Trunks boarded his time capsule for the return trip home, he and Vegeta exchanged a respectful salute. ------------------------------- Trunks Super Saiyan (Fighting) [SSTRNKSF] ------------------------------- (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Eric Vale, US) The half-Saiyan, half-Earthling son of Vegeta and Bulma, who traveled back in time from the dark future. Having lost his sword, he now fights using his body alone. Having spent a year of training inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Vegeta, he has elevated his powers to a whole new level, with the strength of his attacks sufficient to make his sword obsolete. After being killed at the Cell Games and restored to life by the Dragonballs, Trunks returns to his future world in the time capsule. Once there, he battles Androids 17 and 18, as well as Cell, winning decisive victories in each case. As far as his fighting style is concerned, Trunks has not developed any significant new techniques in this form. However, his training and battle experience have boosted his power to such an extent that the old techniques have been taken to a whole new level. -------------------------- Super Trunks Super Saiyan [USSJTRNKS] -------------------------- (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Eric Vale, US) Future Trunks' form after attaining a power level beyond that of a Super Saiyan. This form has also been referred as an Ascended Saiyan, or Super Saiyan Second Stage, and is not to be confused with the Super Saiyan 2 transformation. After his humiliating defeat at the hands of Android 18, Vegeta realized his Super Saiyan powers did not yet make him invincible. He and Trunks then began an intensive training session inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, during which time Trunks gained the ability to take this form. There aren't any particular changes to the techniques he uses in this form, although since his power and speed are increased dramatically over his normal Super Saiyan form, all of his techniques pack a great deal more force. Incidentally, there is an even more specialized transformation beyond this second stage, called Super Saiyan Third Stage, which Trunks utilizes while fighting Perfect Cell. In this stage, however, the increase in power comes at a cost of reduced speed and mobility, which ultimately puts him at a life-threatening disadvantage. ----------- Kid Trunks [KTRNKS] ----------- (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Laura Bailey, US) Young Trunks, the son of Vegeta and Bulma. As a heir to the Capsule Corporation fortune, he has been spoiled somewhat growing up. As a result of his happy, pampered childhood, his personality is very different from that of the future Trunks. He tends to be somewhat stubborn and cocky at times, but he is still good at heart. He takes good care of his best friend Goten; treating him as though he were his very own little brother. Possessed of a vast hidden potential, he was able to transform into a Super Saiyan without really trying, much to the shock of Vegeta. Later, after learning the Fusion Technique from Goku and Piccolo, he and Goten would put that potential to the test, joining forces to combat evils of Majin Buu. His childlike innocence enables him to fight without inhibition. His power level is approximately equal to Goten's; although since he often trains with his father, Trunks' style of fighting is much more refined. Despite Vegeta's rather cold nature, Trunks does love his father, though he is disappointed by the fact that they rarely do anything fun together. Trunks can barely contain his joy on those occasions when Vegeta offers to take him to the amusement park. In Dragonball GT, Trunks has grown into a young man and is the new president of Capsule Corporation. But when the Earth suddenly finds itself in jeopardy, he is more than ready to help, and departs on an epic journey through space with Goku and Pan. ------------------------ Kid Trunks Super Saiyan [SSKTRNKS] ------------------------ (CV: Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Laura Bailey, US) Young Trunks, transformed into a Super Saiyan Ordinarily, it requires intense training and extreme hardship in order to attain the level of Super Saiyan, but Trunks (like Goten), was able to accomplish this amazing feat with little effort. His ability to transform seems to come naturally. Trunks' power level increases drastically when he transform into a Super Saiyan. Indeed, he exhibits such an un-childlike level of strength that Vegeta sometimes forgets to hold back during their training sessions. As a Super Saiyan, his cocky, confident attitude remains unchanged, and he will not hesitate to take on any opponent, no matter how strong. His favorite attacks include a variety of energy waves, such as the Finish Buster. His style of fighting is a bit more refined than Goten's. In the movies, he is often seen in this form with Goten. On two occasions, the two of them got into a battle against Broly. ------ Goten [GTEN] ------ (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Kara Edwards, US) Goku's second son, who looks almost identical to his father as a boy. He was born after the conclusion of the Cell Games. Goten spends much of his time playing with his best friend Trunks, as the two are about the same age. He also enjoys playing with the various animals that live around his house. On occasion he spars with Chichi, as she teaches him a bit about martial arts. He has an incredible hidden potential. When he tagged along while Gohan was training for the World Tournament, he showed that he could transform into a Super Saiyan without really trying, much to his older brother's surprise. After learning the Fusion Technique from Goku and Piccolo, he and Trunks join forces to combat the evils of Majin Buu. His childlike innocence enables him to fight without inhibition. After the final extermination of Kid Buu, Goten shows little interest in fighting or training, and Vegeta is flabbergasted at the way he slacks off. Goten closely resembles Goku as a boy, and shares a similar personality. However, when he doesn't get what he wants he is prone to crying, and he sometimes acts selfishly, like the baby of the family that he is. He listens to his older brother, who he loves very much. His power level is extremely high for someone his age, and he can mimic the use of the Kamehameha Wave (although by slip of the tongue, he calls it the "Kamekameha"). He is not yet skillful enough to control the blast once it is in flight. As he grew older, Goten became tired of being mistaken for Goku, so he changed his hairstyle. This also made it much easier for him to find a girlfriend. In Dragonball GT, he is seen dating a young girl named Valese. ------------------- Goten Super Saiyan [SSGTEN] ------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Kara Edwards, US) Goku's second son, who looks almost identical to his father as a boy, in his Super Saiyan state. Ordinarily, it requires intense training and extreme hardship in order to attain the level of Super Saiyan, but in Goten's case, he was able to accomplish this amazing feat with little effort, suddenly transforming for the first time while sparring with Chichi. When this happened, Chichi promptly scolded her son, which gave Goten the mistaken impression that being a Super Saiyan was the equivalent of being a juvenile delinquent. Thus, he did not transform again until he began training for the World Tournament with his brother Gohan. When transforming into his Super Saiyan state, Goten's appearance is radically altered, and his power level increases dramatically. Even so, he always maintains his innocent, fun-loving personality. In the movies, he is often seen in this form with Trunks. On two occasions, the two of them got into a battle against Broly. -------- Gotenks [GTEKS] -------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Kara Edwards & Laura Bailey, US) The personas of Goten and Trunks, merged together by means of the Fusion Technique. He was formed after Goten and Trunks successfully performed the Fusion dance, a move taught to them by Goku as a drastic measure to defeat Majin Buu. At his first appearance, those present wondered whether his name should be "Gotrunks" or "Trunten". He settled the debate by selecting his own name: "Gotenks". After a few failed attempts at the fusion, Gotenks was finally born. Incredibly cocky and full of confidence in his abilities, he immediately took off to defeat Majin Buu. He was in for a big surprise when Majin Buu quickly beat him black and blue, and was forced to return home. With his cocky, know-it-all attitude, Gotenks refuses to follow any of Piccolo's instructions. His huge ego and glaring overconfidence are most likely derived from the worst parts of Goten and Trunks' personalities. He has the power to back up his boasts, however, especially after he completes his rigorous training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Gotenks clashes with Majin Buu time and time again. Each time he is beat up, but he soon comes right back for more, even more confident of victory. Despite Gotenks' best efforts, however, victory against Majin Buu was simply not meant to be. In this form, he can use many different types of energy waves, but he also has several original moves, such as the Wild Boar Attack and the Magnum Sundae (which are really just ordinary punches and body blows.) --------------------- Gotenks Super Saiyan [SSGTEKS] --------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Kara Edwards & Laura Bailey, US) The personas of Goten and Trunks, merged together through fusion, and having transformed into a Super Saiyan. While in his transformed state, Gotenks' power is significantly amplified, but unfortunately, so is his bad attitude. His cocky antics truly test the limits of Piccolo's patience. During his time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gotenks increased his power level, but he also learned a number of new finishing moves. This made for a fantastic, if sometimes absurd fight in his next meeting with Majin Buu. In this form, he no longer uses his typical finishing moves. Rather, he prefers more colorful attacks, such as the Galactic Donut (which can render an opponent immobile) or the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack (which sends a number of exploding ghosts chasing after an opponent). In spite of their silly names, each of these new techniques is packed with an incredible level of force, and even Majin Buu was nearly overcome by their power. Aside from his tendency to get carried away with himself, the short time limit of the Fusion Technique is his greatest weakness. In Dragonball Z Movie 12, we are shown an advanced version of the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, called the "100 Ghosts at Once Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack." ----------------------- Gotenks Super Saiyan 3 [SS3GTEKS] ----------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Takeshi Kusao, JP/ Kara Edwards & Laura Bailey, US) The Fusion of Goten and Trunks in his ultimate transformation. He refers to himself as the "Hero of Justice" in this form. After taking his Super Saiyan 3 form, Gotenks exhibits an even greater degree of strength, and he manages to deliver serious damage to Majin Buu. Unfortunately, because of his antics, he fails to seal the victory, allowing his time to expire beforehe can finish Majin Buu for good. He is taken by surprise and absorbed during their next rematch. In addition to previously mentioned techniques, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks has added a few new moves to his arsenal. With the Super Donuts, he is able to confine Majin Buu before blasting him with the hard-hitting Ultra Buu Volleyball attack. Though he has achieved his ultimate power in this form, Gotenks' greatest weaknesses - his cocky nature and his tendency to get carried away with himself - have been exaggerated as well. When combined with the fact that he is only able to maintain this transformation for five minutes, it makes a great recipe for disaster. ------- Vegito [VGTO] ------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel & Christopher Sabat, US) The personas of Goku and Vegeta, merged together by means of the Potara earrings. In order to defeat Super Buu, who had absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo, Goku first tried to merge with Gohan using the Potara earring given to him by the Elder Supreme Kai. Before the plan could be enacted, however, Gohan was also absorbed by Buu. With Hercule being the only warrior remaining, Goku's hopes for a successful fusion seemed dashed, until Vegeta made a surprise return from Other World. At Goku's urging, the two merged together, transforming into Vegito. Because he was formed through a merging of two Saiyans, Vegito outward appearance did not take on any surprising qualities, but as a fusion of two of the strongest warriors in the universe, he displays an awesome level of power. In the original manga, he immediately transforms into Super Vegito. In the TV-anime, he enters into battle with Super Buu while still in this form. Incidentally, for merged characters such as Vegito, two voice actors perform at the same time. This was the idea of Akira Toriyama; the original creator. -------------------------- Super Vegito Super Saiyan [SSVGTO] -------------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel & Christopher Sabat, US) The Super Saiyan form of Vegito, the personas of Goku and Vegeta, merged together by means of the Potara earrings. Vegito was unbelievably strong in his natural state, but when he transformed into a Super Saiyan, his power went off the scale. His abilities were so incredible that even after Buu turned him into a piece of hard candy, he remained as strong as ever. Though he could have most likely defeated Super Buu with his awesome strength, Vegito instead allowed Buu to swallow him, in order to rescue the others who had been absorbed. Ordinarily, a fusion created by the Potara earrings is permanent. However, the powerful gastric acids inside Buu's stomach disolved the fusion, and Vegito split back into Goku and Vegeta. In addition of his original moves such as the Beam Sword Slash, in this form, Vegito can also use favorite techniques such as the Big Bang Attavk and the Super Kamehameha. -------------------- Gogeta Super Saiyan [SSGOGTA] -------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel & Christopher Sabat, US) The personas of Goku and Vegeta, merged together by means of the Fusion Technique. He appears in Dragonball Z Movie 13. He is a warrior created by the Fusion of Goku, who had come to rescue King Yemma, and Vegeta, who had been revived by the disruption taking place in Other World, in order to oppose the evil monster Janemba. His hairline is taken from Vegeta, while the hair drooping over his brow is Goku's. The clothes he wears are in the fashion of the Metamorans, the aliens from whom Goku learned the Fusion Technique. While neither Goku nor Vegeta were a match for Janemba on their own, Gogeta has the strength and speed to overpower the monster. The prismatic energy attack that he used to finish Janemba is his favorite technique. With Vegeta reluctant to perform the Fusion, he and Goku botched the first attempt. The result was the creation of a roly-poly warrior named Veku. Since the Fusion that created him had been a blunder, Veku's power level was extremely low, and perhaps his stomach was upset as well, for he pathetically and repeatedly passed gas. Due to his unpredictable motion and repeated gas attacks, Veku somehow managed to survive for 30 minutes, after which a second Fusion was performed and the situation was dramatically reversed. ---------------------- Gogeta Super Saiyan 4 [SS4GOGTA] ---------------------- (CV: Masako Nozawa & Ryo Horikawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel & Christopher Sabat, US) In Dragonball GT, he emerges as the mightiest of warriors, born of the Fusion between Goku and Vegeta, and transformed into a Super Saiyan 4. With the ability to defeat even the most fearsome adversaries using only one finger, as he did with Omega Shenron, it would seem that his power is exponentially greater than that of any individual Super Saiyan 4. Featuring a wild crimson hairstyle, the upper portion of his body is covered in red fur, as is the case with any Super Saiyan 4. The Metamoran clothes that he wears are the same as Gogeta's in his regular state. Being an ultimate warrior created from the combination of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta is able to combine their respective attacks into the ultimate fighting technique: the Big Bang Kamehameha. He is completely invulnerable to any attack, with his only weakness being his inability maintain the Fusion for longer than 10 minutes. ------- Raditz [RADTZ] ------- (CV: Shigeru Chiba, JP/ Justin Cook, US) Bardock's oldest son and Goku's older brother. Raised as a pure Saiyan so, unlike Goku, he has an extremely cruel personality. He has no affection toward his younger brother. In an attempt to gain Saiyan control of the Earth and coerce his brother to join him in his mission, he kidnaps Goku's son, Gohan. Seeing his father in danger, Gohan explodes with rage and delivers a massive amount of damage to Raditz in a single blow. Taking advantage of the situation, Goku puts Raditz in a headlock and demands of Piccolo to kill them both with his Special Beam Cannon. Just before his death, he sneered that two more powerful Saiyans, Vegeta and Nappa, would be coming to earth in one year's time. Irate, Piccolo finishes him off. Born into the lowest warrior class, and lacking experience in life-or-death battles, his battle power is among the lowest for Saiyans. He also has not built up his tail muscles, and is referred to by his comrades as "that weakling Raditz". ------ Nappa [NAPA] ------ (CV: Shozo Izuka, JP, Phil Parsons, US) An elite Saiyan warrior that accompanied Vegeta to Earth. He appears to be middle-aged, thanks to his Saiyan characteristics, but in actuality he is over 50 years old. He has been Vegeta's attendant ever since Vegeta's childhood, and has a somewhat violent nature, even among Saiyans. Though in rank he was classified as an elite warrior of nobility, he ultimately served as a servant to the prince which, when compared to the rest of Frieza's elite, was not a very impressive position. He put Piccolo, Tien and Chiaotzu to death with his incredible might, but fell powerless to Goku who had returned to Earth with new training and a deadly Kaio-ken technique. He begged for Vegeta's help, but was executed for his cowardice. His favorite moves include various energy waves, and with his natural stature and power, he has an overwhelming style of fighting. When Bardock challenged Frieza in "Bardock: The Father of Goku", a younger version of Nappa is seen. At the time, he actually had a little hair on his head. --------- Saibaman [SMAN] --------- (CV: Yusuke Numata, JP/ John Burgmeier, US) Portable battle creatures used by warriors under Frieza's command. After being invented by Saiyan scientists, their performance gradually intensified until they gained enough intelligence to understand orders. They are furnished with a power level of 1200, rivaling the lowest class of warriors. They are an equal match for Raditz, in terms of strength. In battle, they are capable of emitting a powerful acid from their heads. Should they get close enough to their opponent, they will not hesitate to self-destruct. This is the manner in which Yamcha was killed. ------- Zarbon [ZARN] ------- (CV: Sho Hayami, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Frieza's attendant and intellectual advisor. Ordinarily a man of such beauty that he is often mistaken for a woman, he is capable of summoning his true power and transforming into a hideous monster. However, as a man of tremendous vanity, Zarbon does not prefer transforming into his uglier form. Hence, there are few people who have ever seen him do it. Using his transformation as a secret weapon, he manages to beat Vegeta once, but careleesly assumes Vegeta drowns during the fight and doesn't finish the job. Vegeta recovers, supercharged from the battle, and later kills Zarbon. His favorite move is the Elegant Blaster, launching it while striking a sassy pose. He is also the person who first realize the threat the Saiyans presented, and suggested to Frieza that they be exterminated. --------------------------- Zarbon Post-Transformation [ZARNPT] --------------------------- (CV: Sho Hayami, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) Zarbon transformed into his true form. Zarbon had kept this transformation a secret for many years, as its hideous features offended his refined sensibilities. However, feeling threatened by Vegeta's development, Zarbon set aside his feelings and assumed this form. He managed to beat Vegeta once, thanks to the power-up afforded by this transformation. However, not finishing him off was his worst mistake. When Vegeta recovers more powerful than before, he hunts down Zarbon and kills him, piercing his stomach and ignoring Zarbon's pleas for his life. His favorite moves include the Elegant Blaster and Monster Crash. However, unlike his normal form, he employs a style of fighting that forcibly immobilizes his opponents with his overwhelming strength. -------- Dodoria [DODRA] -------- (CV: Yukinori Hori, JP/ Chris Forbis, US) Frieza's attendant, he is the type of man that tends to settle problems with force. He travels to Planet Namek together with Frieza in search of the Dragon Balls. There, he exhibits the strength to defeat three Namekian warriors, said to be unusuakky strong by the universe's standards, in ten seconds. He goes after Krillin and Gohan when they prevent him from killing Dende. Upon taking this independent action, he is set upon Vegeta and killed. His favorite techniques include various energy waves and the Super Mouth Blast, and with his natural power, he employs an oppressive style of fighting. In "Bardock: The Father of Goku," he slaughters Tora and Bardock's other Saiyan comrades, and then attempts to kill Bardock himself when he comes on the scene. He leaves without assuring that Bardock was dead. -------------- Captain Ginyu [CG] -------------- (CV: Hideyuki Hori, JP/ Brice Armstrong, US) Captain of Frieza's elite band of mercenaries, the Ginyu Force. Ginyu is the strongest in his group and one of the few who truly respects Frieza. He devotes much of his time creating new tactics, and choreographing original Special Fighting Poses for his team. He is unusually pleasant for a villian and stands by his fellow team members with full support. Once he realizes that Goku possesses more strength than himself, he performs a Body Change with him. But when he is unsuccessful of drawing the power out of Goku, he faces a tough battle against Gohan and Krillin. Later Ginyu attempts to perform another Body Change, this time with Vegeta. This fails thanks to Goku's quick thinking and he is turned into a frog. In the original tv anime, after Ginyu has been turned into a frog, he manages to trick Bulma into allowing him to Body Change with her. Once he has taken over her, he sets his sights on Piccolo, but is unsuccessful and turned back into a frog. Still in frog form, he is taken to Earth where he remains in that state. Apparently he has made a home for himself in Bulma's greenhouse. Due to the fact that Ginyu performed Body Changes every time he encountered a stronger opponent, there are only a few in the galaxy that know what his original form was. -------- Recoome [RECOME] -------- (CV: Kenji Utsumi, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) A member of Frieza's elite band of mercenaries, the Ginyu Force. He is the second largest team member, next only to Burter. Recoome has a jovial attitude towards fighting, but that doesn't take away from the awesome power he possesses. He is a loyal member of the Ginyu Force and always takes the time to perform a Special Fighting Pose before engaging in combat. He easily defeated Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin, but with a single hit from Goku's elbow, he was knocked out cold. Vegeta, not quite finished yet, finished him off with an energy blast. His favorite moves include the Recoome Eraser Gun, Recoome Kick and the Recoome Mach Attack. His ultimate finishing move, the Recoome Ultra Fighting Bomber, ended abruptly halfway through it's lengthy motion when Goku struck him at an unguarded moment. As a result, the entire technique remains a mystery. In the original tv anime, Recoome's spirit was called on by King Kai to come to his planet following his death to fight against Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu, who had been training there. He was eventually beaten by Yamcha, who had gained power through his training, and thrown down into HFIL with the rest of the Ginyu Force. ------- Burter [BURTR] ------- (CV: Yukimasa Kishino, JP/ Christopher Sabet, US) A member of Frieza's band of mercenaries, The Ginyu Force. He is the largest team member, and boasts the greatest speed in the universe. He might have been the fastest person in the universe, at least until Goku came along. Not only was he outdone by Goku, and was also knocked out by one of Goku's elbow-jabs. Ultimately, he had his neck broken by Vegeta and died. His primary favorite moves include those that make use of his natural speed. Additionally, he and Jeice can combine their efforts to perform a cooperative move called the Purple Spiral Flash Attack. In the original TV series was a segment, where, after his death, he was called to King Kai's planet to fight against Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu in a training exercise. Even though he paired up with Jeice, he was defeated by Tien and dropped down into HFIL with the rest of the Ginyu Force. ------ Jeice [JECE] ------ (CV: Kazumi Tanaka, JP/ Christopher Sabat, US) A member if Frieza's band of mercenaries, The Ginyu Force. A warrior with deep red skin, long white hair, and sexy Euro features. He has about the same power level as Recoome or Burter, and is equally no match for Goku. Then, after being reprimanded by Captain Ginyu, he was struck by an energy wave launched by Vegeta at close range and blown to pieces. His primary favorite moves include various energy waves and his Crusher Ball attack. He can also collaborate with Burter to perform the Purple Spiral Flash Attack. In the original anime TV series was a segment, where, after his death, he was called to King Kai's planet to fight against Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu in a training exercise. Even though he paired up with Burter, he was defeated by Tien and dropped down into HFIL with the rest of the Ginyu Force. ------ Guldo [GLDO] ------ (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Bill Townsley, US) A member of Frieza's elite band of mercenaries, the Ginyu Force, Guldo is a short, odd-looking alien with four eyes. Unlike the other members of the Ginyu Force, his power is severly lacking, but due to his ability to harness supernatural powers, one must be careful around him. While fighting Gohan and Krillin, he had them against the ropes with the help of his paralysis technique. But his advantage was quickly stopped by Vegeta who eventually defeated him. His favorite moves involve his supernatural powers, such as his paralysis technique and psychokinesis. Living up to his nasty personality, Guldo was planning to skewar the paralyzed Gohan and Krillin, then eat them. He also deeply loathes Vegeta, who in the past had told him he suffered from bad breath. In the original tv anime, he was called by King Kai to come to his planet following his death to fight against Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu, who had been training there. He lost in a battle against Chiaotzu, where both used their preternatural powers, and was sent to HFIL with the rest of the Ginyu Force. ---------------- Frieza 1st Form [FRZA1] ---------------- (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Linda Young, US) An evil alien creature, possessing terrifying transformation abilities. Frieza assembled an army of superior warriors from around the galazy, and sent them to conquer a host of planets. Whether selling the planets for profit or adding them to his personal collection, Frieza was ruthless in his conquest of all. Fearing that the Saiyan race would one day rise up to oppose him, Frieza killed Vegeta's father, King Vegeta, Goku's father, Bardock, and destroyed the Saiyan homeworld, Planet Vegeta. In order to gain his wish for immortality, Frieza and his band of henchman came to Planet Namek in search of the Dragonballs. What he found, however, was much more than he bargianed for. His trusted lieutenants Dodoria and Zarbon were defeated, and not even the Ginyu Force could succeed where they had failed. The situation only grew worse, until finally Frieza's dreams of immortality were shattered, and in his rage he revealed his true nature. In this form, Frieza's power level already exceeds 500,000. But in response to Vegeta's continued challenges, he later transformed into even more fearsome forms. His favored attacks include the Death Beam and Death Ball attacks. His overwhelming power typically allows him to fight in a calm, self-assured manner. The depth of Frieza's cruelty is somewhat concealed by his polished, almost aristocratic manner of speech. ---------------- Frieza 2nd Form [FRZA2] ---------------- (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Linda Young, US) Frieza, in his second transformation. In response to Vegeta's challenges, Frieza shocks the Saiyan prince by taking this form. Though Vegeta was able to fight evenly with Frieza in his first form, he is helpless against the overwhelming power of this second form. As he transforms into his second phase, Frieza grows taller and sprouts two long horns, greatly resembling his father, King Cold. His previously refined manner of speech is replaced by a coarse, mocking tone. Frieza uses one of his horns to impale Krillin, leaving him critically injured. He then turns his attention to Gohan. He meets his match, however, when he faces off against Piccolo, who has powered-up by merging with the Namekian warrior Nail. In addition to the Death Beam and Death Ball, Frieza uses his long horns to perform charging attacks in this form. ---------------- Frieza 3rd Form [FRZA3] ---------------- (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Linda Young, US) Frieza, in his third transformation. After Piccolo proves an even match for Frieza in his second phase, the tyrant transformed yet again in an attempt to instill Piccolo with the desired level of terror. He claimed this was the first time he had ever shown anyone this transformation. His power increased well beyond that of his second transformation, Frieza toyed with Piccolo for a brief time, before finally putting a decisive end to the fight. In this third form, the horns on his head grow shorter, but there are now four of them, and his entire body has metamorphosed into something far more hideous. His personality reverts to the composed attitude he possessed in his first form, making his presence that much more errie. In addition to the Death Beam and Death Ball, in this form he also utilizes an ultra-high-speed energy blast rush, the Crazy Finger Beam attack. ------------------ Frieza Final Form [FRZAFF] ------------------ (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Linda Young, US) Frieza undergoes one last transformation, adopting his true form in this final metamorphosis. He takes this form in order to show Vegeta the true meaning of terror. As opposed to his previous transformation, Frieza's final form is small, sleek, and plain. But despite his deceptively weak appearance, his power level is even greater than before, giving him the overwhelming strength befitting the self-proclaimed emperor of the universe. Frieza's cruelty comes fully to the surface in this final form. Frieza torments Vegeta until the Saiyan prince loses his will to fight, and only then does he take his life. Frieza also easily overpowers Goku at his first arrival, but he goes too far and destroys Krillin, Goku's rage explodes and he transforms into a Super Saiyan. Having finally met someone stronger than him, Frieza loses his cool completely. In addition to the Death Beam, Frieza uses brutal techniques such as the Energy Cutter while in this form. He also makes use of certain psychokinetic abilities. He is sent to HFIL following his death, but in Dragonball GT and the movie "Fusion of Resurrection!! Goku & Vegeta" he fights Goku again, and returning with the other villians to Earth. ------------------------------- Frieza Final Form "Full Power" [100%FRZA] ------------------------------- (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Linda Young, US) Frieza's final transformed state, after he has released 100% of his power in order to combat Super Saiyan Goku. The outward appearance remains relatively unchanged, except for the expansion of his muscles, which makes his body a somewhat larger. By utilizing 100% of his power, Frieza is able to fight an evenly-matched battle against Super Saiyan Goku for a time, but when it becomes clear that Frieza will not be able to continue the fight, Goku is prepared to walk away. Unwilling to accept defeat, Frieza launches a surprise attack. The attack backfires, however, and Frieza ends up slicing himself in half with his own blast. Having been cut into two, Frieza abandons his pride and begs for mercy from Goku. Goku shares some of his energy with Frieza and leaves the scene, but before he is fully away, Frieza tries to kill him once again. The failed attack only succeeds in awakening Goku's wrath, and the Super Saiyan fires a blast that finishes Frieza off for good. In addition to his previous techniques, Frieza can also make use of his 100% Death Ball and Destructo Discs in this form. ------------- Mecha Frieza [MFRZA] ------------- (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Linda Young, US) On the brink of death after losing his battle with Goku, Frieza drifted through space until he was rescued by his father. Scientists in the service of King Cold replaced Frieza's missing body parts with machines, resulting in this "Mecha" form. It is assumed that these mechanical upgrades also increased Frieza's power level to a significant degree. Seeking to take his revenge against Goku, Frieza and his father traveled to Earth with the intention of destroying it. But when they were confronted by a mysterious youth named Trunks, they discovered that Goku was not the only Super Saiyan. With one swipe of Trunks' sword, the tyrant's evil reign was ended forever. It is suppose that the fighting style and favorite moves used by Frieza in this state are roughly the same as in his "full power" final form. ------------ Android #16 [A16] ------------ (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa, JP/ Jeremy Inman, US) A purely mechanical android equipped with a limitless power supply, he was built by Doctor Gero for the sole purpose of killing Goku. He did not exist in Trunks' dark, alternate future. Aside from Cell, he is the most powerful of the Androids, though this is offset by his gentle nature. Because of his unwillingness to harm any living creature, Doctor Gero considered him a defective product. He is a gentle giant of few words, and did not join Androids 17 and 18 in their battle against Vegeta and the other Z-Fighters. He instead chose to sit on the sidelines, where he passed the time by playing with some small birds. Later, he steps forward to prevent Cell from absorbing Android 17. For a time, it seems that he will win the day. But after Cell successfully absorbs 17 and morphs into his second form, Android 16 suffers a crippling defeat. After he is repaired by Bulma's father, Dr. Brief, Android 16 participates in the Cell Games, where he is destroyed by Perfect Cell. This demise of the peace-loving Android was the trigger that set off Gohan's transformation into a Super Saiyan 2. His gentle nature is often reminicent of Goku's old friend Eighter (Android 8), but of his programming, 16 maintains a cold attitude toward Goku. His favored moves include the Rocket Punch and Hell Flash, and he tends to press his attacks, continously bearing down on his opponent. ----------- Android 17 [A17] ----------- (CV: Shigeru Nakahara, JP/ Chuck Huber, US) A reconstructed, human-based Android built by Doctor Gero as fodder for Cell in order for him to attain his perfect form. He has an eternal energy reactor inside him, and never grows tired. Formerly a young human male, he was forcibly reconstructed by Doctor Gero into an Android, and bitterly hates him as a result. This led him having his functions shut down and being locked up for a time, but when Doctor Gero found himself in a pinch, he reactivated him. He shows a brutal nature toward Doctor Gero, but basically thinks of fighting as a game, and does not seek to fight for no reason. He demonstrates the strength to easily defeat Super Saiyan Vegeta and Teen Trunks, and fought evenly against the merged Kami and Piccolo, but in the end, he is absorbed by Cell. With the special property of being able to perform rushes without getting winded, as well as raising a Barrier that can bounce attacks back, he exhibits a fighting style that leaves nothing to chance. In addition to the #17 and #18 in Trunks' "other future" being slightly less powerful, they were also different in that their personalities were also completely brutal. In Dragonball GT, he merges together with the Machine Mutant #17 that Doctor Gero and Doctor Myuu create in HFIL to become Super #17. ----------- Android 18 [A18] ----------- (CV: Miki Ito, JP/ Meredith McCoy, US) A reconstructed, human-based Android built by Doctor Gero as fodder for Cell in order for him to attain his perfect form. She has an eternal energy reactor inside her, and never grows tired. Formerly a young human female, she was forcibly reconstructed by Doctor Gero into an Android, and bitterly hates him as a result. This led to her having her functions shut down and being locked up for a time, but when Doctor Gero found himself in a pinch, he reactivated her. As with Android 17, she displays a brutal hatred toward Doctor Gero, and has a generally stern personality, hating things that are patently uncool. She is the only female type among all of the Androids, but has the same level of battle power as Android 17. She easily beats Vegeta, even after he had become Super Saiyan, but eventually is absorbed by Cell in his second form. After Cell regurgitates her, she marries Krillin, who she had not previously spent much time with. They have a daughter named Marron. A powerful wife that does not age, she also shows that she has the smarts to manage the family budget when she swindles Hercule out of a fortune. Her power is slightly lower than Android 17's, but with her special ability to never grow tired, her sharp rush attacks pack a lot of force. In Dragonball GT, she teams up with Goku in attacking Super 17 in order to avenge her slain husband. ----------- Android 19 [A19] ----------- (CV: Noriyuki Hori, JP/ Phillip Wilburn, US) A purely mechanical, energy absorbing Android created by Doctor Gero. He did not exist in the "alternate future" that Trunks lived in. The most complete Android, but with an older style of energy absorption system, his battle power is lower than Android 17 or Android 18. He also oversaw the reconstruction of Doctor Gero as Android 20, so his intelligence level was apparently fairly high. His energy increased dramatically after absorbing some from Goku, who had been weakened by his viral heart ailment. However, he was soon blown to bits by Vegeta, who had turned Super Saiyan and hit him with a Big Bang Attack. Comprised entirely of mechanical components, he still expressed terror when being beat upon by Vegeta. His favorite moves involve energy absorption, drawing in opponent's energy blasts, or drawing energy directly from an opponent to increase his own power. ----------- Android 20 [A20] ----------- (CV: Koji Yata, JP/ Kent Williams, US) The reconstructed form of Doctor Gero, reown for being a mad scientist, who sought of eternal life and had himself converted into an Android. He did not exist in the "alternate future" that Trunks lived in. He was once affiliated with the Red Ribbon Army, but following its downfall, he devoted himself to the development of Androids in order to take revenge against Goku. He ultimately had himself reconstructed as an Android by Android 19. He defeated Yamcha and absorbed his energy, but misread Piccolo and was backed into a corner, where he had no choice but to reactivate Android 17 in a desperate attempt to save his own life. It backfired and Android 17 turned on him then killed him. As with Android 19, his favorite moves are of the energy absorption variety, drawing in opponent's energy blasts, or drawing energy directly from an opponent to increase power. In Dragonball GT, he works together with Doctor Myuu in HFIL to create a Machine Mutant Android 17, which when merged with the Android 17 in the living world gives rise to Super 17. He is then once again killed by Super 17, who was programmed only to follow Doctor Myuu's orders. -------------- Cell 1st Form [CEL1] -------------- (CV: Norio Wakamoto, JP/ Dameon Clarke, US) The ultimate Android, created by Doctor Gero. Cell was created from the collected cells of Goku and the other Z-Warriors, and incubated in Doctor Gero's secret underground laboratory. Born into an alternate future where Androids 17 and 18 had already been destroyed, Cell ambushes Trunks and steals his time capsule. He then travels to the past in search of 17 and 18, in order to absorb them and attain his perfect form. Cell began his life as an insect-like creature with mottled green skin, though he is designed to transform into increasingly powerful forms as he absorbs the other androids. In his first form, Cell was no match for Piccolo, who had recently merged with Kami. But as Cell absorbed the energy from more and more humans, he was able to power-up significantly. The next time he faced Piccolo, he surprised the Namke with his incredible strength. Since he was created from the genetic material of Earth's most powerful warriors, he is able to use a variety of their techniques, from Goku's Kamehameha Wave to Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon. He can also absorb his opponent's energy by stabbing them with his sharp tail. Armed with the knowledge of Cell's plans after his experiences in the past, Trunks returns to his future world and defeats Cell before he can steal the time capsule. -------------- Cell 2nd Form [CEL2] -------------- (CV: Norio Wakamoto, JP/ Dameon Clarke, US) Doctor Gero's ultimate Android, after absorbing Android 17 and taking his second form. Unlike his first form, which was similar to an insect, this form has a more humanoid shape to it. While still in his first form, Cell was outmatched by the power of Android 16. After absorbing Android 17 and transforming into his second phase, however, Cell was able to cripple Android 16 with a single blow. Powerful though he was, Cell later found himself at the mercy of Super Vegeta. Only by appealing to Vegeta's battle-hungry Saiyan instincts was Cell able to talk his way out of certain doom. There are no significant changes to the techniques Cell uses in his second form, although with his increased power level, his attacks are capable of causing considerably greater damage. Even seen in the best light, few would venture to describe Cell as handsome. He, on the other hand, is quite enarmored with his own appearance. ------------------ Cell Perfect Form [PCEL] ------------------ (CV: Norio Wakamoto, JP/ Dameon Clarke, US) Doctor Gero's ultimate Android, after absorbing Android 18 and achieving his Perfect Form. Though he was outmatched by Vegeta in his second form, he now has enough power to easily swat the Saiyan aside. Overjoyed by his new abilities, Cell proclaims himself "The Ultimate Android". Not interested in meaningless slaughter and destruction, Cell instead wishes to test his powers against worthy opponents. He therefore holds the Cell Games, an imitation of the World Tournament. There are no significant changes to the techniques Cell uses in his form, although with his increased power level, his attacks are capable of causing considerably greater damage. Even seen in the best light, few would venture to describe Cell as handsome. He, on the other hand, is quite enarmored with his own appearance. -------------------------- Perfect Cell Perfect Form [SPCEL] -------------------------- (CV: Norio Wakamoto, JP/ Dameon Clarke, US) Cell in his perfect form, after returning from the brink of death, even more powerful than before. After his self-destruction on King Kai's planet, Cell was presumed to be dead. Unfortunately, the nucleus inside his head survived the blast, and from this Cell was able to regenerate himself. Thanks to the Saiyan cells from which he was created, Cell's power level was increased significantly after his near-death experience. And having absorbed Goku's Instant Transmission Technique, he was able to quickly return to Earth. At his first act upon returning to Earth, Cell eliminated Trunks with a single shot. Gohan was then badly injured as he tried to protect Vegeta from a similar attack. Wasting no time, Cell launched a Super Kamehameha, intent on destroying the whole planet, but with his father's encouragement, Gohan is able to turn back the blast, and Cell is completely obliterated. Cell's appearance has changed a little in this new form, but as a testament to his new power, his body is now surrounded by a lightning-like aura, similar to that of a Super Saiyan 2. In addition to all previously mentioned fighting moves, Perfect Cell is also capable of performing the Death Beam and Spirit Bomb techniques. And with the added ability of Instant Transmission, it could be argued that Cell has in fact become the perfect warrior. --------- Cell Jr. [CELJR] --------- (CV: Hirotaka Suzuoki, JP/ Justin Cook, US) Cell's "children", spawned of Cell in his perfect form. In the TV-anime, seven of them were created. These miniature versions of Perfect Cell may be somewhat cute in appearance, their powers rivaled that of Vegeta and Trunks. They are the embodiment of cruelty, and take extreme delight in the suffering of others. In an attempt to awaken Gohan's anger, Cell ordered his children to attack the other Z-Fighters. Upon hearing the cries of his friends, Gohan's rage exploded and he transformed into a Super Saiyan 2. His blood boiling, the young Saiyan defeated all seven Cell Juniors in the blink of an eye. ------------------ Demon King Dabura [DABRA] ------------------ (CV: Ryuzaburo Otomo, JP/ Rick Robertson, US) King of the Demon World. His exact age is unknown, but he has been alive for at least 300 years. Dabura is the strongest man found in the Demon World. Babidi took control of his mind and made him his servant. He has the same level of power as Cell and possesses a good command of magic. Dabura fought an equally matched bout with Gohan, but once he discovered the evil lurking inside Vegeta, he returned to Babidi's side to inform him, and the battle left undecided. Later, he sensed danger coming from Majin Buu, and tried to defeat him, but was instead killed, turned into a cookie and devoured. Since he was a King of Demon World, rather than being sent to HFIL, where he enjoyed himself, King Yemma decided to send him to Other World instead. In addition to the magic he uses, his favorite moves include the Evil Impulse and the Darkness Sword Attack. His ace in the hole is saliva that turns a person to stone if spat upon. ----------------- Majin Buu (Good) [MBUU] ----------------- (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Josh Martin, US) The first form of the terrible Majin Buu, revived by the wizard Babidi. Majin Buu was originally created by the wizard Babidi's father, Bibidi. He possessed an extraordinarily high level of power, but his personality was so wicked that Bibidi himself was unable to keep him under control, and considered him a failure. After killing the Supreme Kais of the North and West, and absorbing the Supreme Kai of the South, he finally absorbed the kind-hearted Daikaioh which
resulted in his present form. His power has dropped, and his violent nature has also subsided somewhat. Ultimately, he was sealed up by Bibidi, but hundreds of years later, he was revived by Babidi to wreak havoc once again. At first, he grudgingly followed Babidi's orders, but after fighting Super Saiyan 3 Goku, he turned on Babidi and killed him, then proceeded to run wild to his heart's content. Afterward, he became friends with Hercule, thanks to their contact with a dog, and even promised to stop killing people. However, when Hercule and the dog were wounded before his eyes, he became enraged, and split into the good and pure evil halves of Buu. The good Buu challenged the evil Buu to battle, but since he lost the greater part of his power in the split, good Buu wound up being turned into chocolate when his own beam turned back on him, and he was devoured. After Kid Buu had been eradicated, good Buu went to stay with Hercule. Using the power of the Dragonballs, they removed all memories of Majin Buu from the people of the world, and he went on living a peaceful life as "Mister Buu". At first, Babadi held a great influence over him, and because of his childlike nature, Buu was unablw to discern right from wrong. However, once Hercule taught him the standards by which he could judge, he shunned the wickedness in his heart and went on to live in a carefree manner, all the while eating the candy he loved so much. In addition to the beam he uses to turn his opponents into candy, he also uses the Flame Shower Breath and Angry Explosion techniques, either of which can cause destruction on a massive scale. He also has a natural instinct for battle, and learned Goku's Kamehameha wave after seeing it performed only once. Unless all of his cells are obliterated, it is possible for him to regenerate from a tiny portion of his body, or even from smoke, which makes it very difficult for an opponent to gain victory over him. In Dragonball GT, we see him living amiably with Hercule and their dog, Bee. When he saw Uub, who ws an alter ego of himself, having trouble battling Baby Vegeta, he bid farewell to his beloved Hercule and went off to battle. He absorbed the Revenge Death Ball that Baby Vegeta launched at Uub in order to kill him, but in the end, he exploded and died. ---------------------- Majin Buu (Pure Evil) [MBUUE] ---------------------- (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Josh Martin, US) The part that broke away from Majin Buu, symbolizing the purely evil portion of Majin Buu. He has an exceptionally skinny and weak-looking body, but his power level is still extremely high, and displays more than enough strength to defeat the good Buu. He turns the good Buu's beam back on him, thus turning him into chocolate. The evil Buu then promptly devours him. He only appears in the storyline for a very brief time, so there isn't much data on the techniques he uses or his fighting style. It's probably that his style of fighting is similar to that of the good Majin Buu. ---------- Super Buu [SBUU] ---------- (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Josh Martin, US) The form taken by the first evil Majin Buu, after devouring the good Majin Buu. With barely a shred of reason, he makes the good Majin Buu seem like a genius in comparison. This is extremely dangerous creature shows interest in nothing but fighting strong opponents, destroying and killing. His power level is extremely high, as was seen when he destroyed Kami's Lookout while fighting Gotenks. Once the time on Goten and Trunks' fusion expired, Ultimate Gohan came to their rescue, and Buu was powerless to defend himself against Gohan's attacks. He was forced to blow himself up in order to escape. As with previous versions of Majin Buu, he is highly capable of regenerating himself, and extremely passionate about winning. He will use whatever means necessary to defeat am opponent that is stronger than himself, often resorting to trickery when he is backed into a corner. Favorite moves in this form include the Vice Shout, the Human Extinction Attack, and the Revenge Death Bomber. Each of these techniques boasts a brutal amount of destructive force. This is also the form taken by the original Majin Buu, created by the wizard Babidi's father Bibidi. after absorbing the strongest and brliest of the Supreme Kais, the Supreme Kai of the South. --------------------------- Majin Buu Gotenks Absorbed [MBUUG] --------------------------- (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Josh Martin, US) Majin Buu's powered-up form after absorbing Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo. Unable to defend himself against Ultimate Gohan's attacks, Buu used trickery in order to absorb Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo. With the considerable powers he aquired upon taking this form, he was ready to extract his revenge on Gohan. By absorbing Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, Buu's power level increased substantially, but with the addition of Piccolo's intelligence, Buu's power increased in a whole new way. Not only was he incredibly strong, he was now smart as well. Immediately afterward, he fought with Gohan again, and drove him back with an overwhelming force, until finally absorbing Gohan to facilitate an even greater power-up. In addition to his previous skills, he was able to use the techniques of those he had absorbed, and exhibited an even greater strength than before. His only weakness in this form was that once Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks' transformation time limit expired, his power was reduced. ---------------------------------- Majin Buu Ultimate Gohan Absorbed [MBUUGHAN] ---------------------------------- (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Josh Martin, US) Majin Buu's form after absorbing Ultimate Gohan and obtaining an even greater power-up. Having returned to the living world, Goku attempted to merge with Gohan using the Potara earrings. However, Buu absorbed Gohan first, which led to his taking this form. With Gohan absorbed and Hercule the only warrior remaining, Goku's hopes for a successful fusion seemed dashed, until Vegeta made a surprise return from Other World. At Goku's urging, the two merged together and quickly turned the tables on Buu. In addition to his previous skills, he now possessed Gotenks' techniques, Piccolo's brains, and Gohan's power. As opposed to his previous form, there was no time limit in his current state, a fact which led him to proclaim this transformation as the Mightiest Majin. Despite his incredible power, however, he proved no match for Vegito, and was forced to suffer one humiliating attack after another. -------- Kid Buu [KBUU] -------- (CV: Kozo Shioya, JP/ Josh Martin, US) The pure form of Majin Buu, created by the wizard Bibidi. Having absorbed the Supreme Kai of the South and the Daikaioh in the past, Buu's tempreament was somewhat calmed by their influence. However, after Goku and Vegeta went inside Buu's body and yanked out his good portion, he assumed this extremely violent form. Buu has an extremely high power level and a ferocity which not even Bibidi could control, and possesses an eccentric kind of brutality that could have easily destroyed the earth regardless of whether or not he had taken this form. After destroying the Earth, Buu spotted the Supreme Kai's planet and made his way there using the Instant Transmission technique. There, he began the battle with Goku and Vegeta that would decide the fate of the entire universe. In the end, it was Hercule's powers of persuasion that allowed Goku to gather the energy needed to create a gigantic Spirit Bomb and completely annihilate Buu, so that not even a single cell remained. Favorite moves in this form include the Kamehameha wave and the Death Ball attack, but he shows absolutely no reservations about destroying the whole planet, and is indeed worthy of the title "Maniacal Destroyer." -------- Hercule [HRCULE] -------- (CV: Daisuke Gori, JP/ Chris Rager, US) The Champion of the World and father of Videl. First appearing at the time of the Cell Games, he made a reckless challenge to Cell, and paid the price dearly by being thrown into a nearby mountain with a sweep of Cell's hand. Stating that his quick defeat was due to Cell rigging the match, he kept his place and stayed at the Cell Games ring but kept out of the fight, using the excuse that his stomach was upset. As a result, rumor got around that Hercule was the one who defeated Cell, and he became the world's hero overnight. Later, he lived a life of luxury in Hercule City, which had been renamed for him, together with his daughter Videl. Here he did not spend much time training. Basically just a man who is easily flattered, Hercule's power cannot hold a candle to Goku and the others. However, he became friends with Majin Buu, got Buu to promise to stop killing people, and played a key role in persuading the people of the earth to cooperate in creating the Spirit Bomb during the final battle with Kid Buu. To paraphrase Goku's words, he really could be the savior of the world, and in that regard, he is a great person. During the final battle against Kid Buu, he protected a nearly dead Majin Buu, and would live together afterward with Buu's dog Bee. With his curly hair, cleft chin and black uniform, he looks and acts like a professional US wrestler. His penchant for bluffing and unique way of talking makes him at least world champion in those categories. He does however have the kind of love for justice that is indispensable for a hero. His favorite moves include the Dynamite Punch and the Hercule Miracle Special Ultra Super Megaton Punch! These moves are almost completely ineffective and fantastic in name only. More often that not Hercule enlists dirty moves designed to take his opponent by surprised, such as the Present Bomb. In Dragonball GT, he has lost most of the curly hair he was so proud of, and is left with a fairly pathetic receding hairline, but thanks to the cheating he and Majin Buu conspire in, he continues to reign as the champion of the world. ------ Videl [VDEL] ------ (CV: Yuko Minaguchi, JP/ Kara Edwards, US) A high school student with experience in martial arts, she is Hercule's only daughter. She met Gohan while enrolled at Orange Star High School, and during her quest to learn about the Great Saiyaman, she was the first person to learn of his true identity. In addition to being directly related to Hercule, she possesses a deep understanding for martial arts. She has been trained by Gohan to master the flying technique and learned to control her energy with extraordinary speed. She entered the 25th World Tournament, but was easily beaten by the brutal Spopovitch, who was under the wizard Babidi's spell. After recovering with the aid of a Senzu bean, she tries to accompany Gohan and the others, who have left to chase down Spopovitch, but finds that she can't keep up and remains behind. Her love for Gohan was beginning to blossom at this point. Following the extermination of Kid Buu, she and Gohan were married when they graduated college. They later had a daughter named Pan. On top of her pretty looks, Videl has a strong sense of justice, as well as a strong will. Before marrying Gohan, she preserved the peace in Hercule City as a champion of justice. However, once she and Gohan began dating, they started fighting together under the monkier Great Saiyaman Mark 2. Although she is proficient in martial arts, Videl is still a normal girl. Her power compares unfavorably to other martial artists, but with the overpowering fighting style she embraces, along with her natural speed and spirited rushes, she is able to hold her own. In Dragon Ball Z Movie 13, the pair are shown striking a pose together. In Dragonball GT, she took out her Great Saiyaman Mark 2 costume that she tucked away in a dresser and donned to save the earth, but did not actually participate in the battle. -------- Bardock [BRDOCK] -------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sonny Strait, US) A lower class Saiyan warrior, and the father of Goku and Raditz. He appears in the TV Special "Bardock: The Father Of Goku". A typical lower class warrior who hailed from Planet Vegeta, he experienced many life-or-death battles while working as one of Frieza's underlings. Every battle increased his power level, until it reached nearly 10,000. His bravery was apparently well-known among the other Saiyan warriors. While conquering the planet Kanassa, he was hit with a surprise attack by a Kanassan, and as a result gained the ability to see into the future. As a result of this foresight, he learned of the extermination of the Saiyans, Frieza's betrayal, and the future battle between Goku and Frieza. To avenge his comrades, who were wiped out by Dodoria under Frieza's order, as well as to change the future, he single handedly challenged Frieza. In an epic, final confrontation with Frieza, he muscled through a swarm of henchman and closed in on the tyrant. But the difference between their powers was too great, and Bardock was swallowed by one of Frieza's massive energy balls, collapsing into space along with the obliterated Planet Vegeta. Typical of Saiyans, his personality was belligerent, and he had little compassion for his children, especially when he learned of Goku's low power level at birth. However, we see him tying on the blood-soaked bandana of his fallen comrade Tora as he prepares to go into battle, indicating that his affection for his companions ran deep. His primary favorite moves include different types of energy waves. His battle power itself does not set him apart from other low-class warriors. He does enjoy an abundance of battle experience, and an uncinquerable fighting spirit, so he is definitely not an opponent to be taken lightly. Bardock also appears in the original manga version for one panel. ------------------ Cooler Final Form [COLER] ------------------ (CV: Ryusei Nakao, JP/ Andy Chandler, US) Frieza's older brother and conqueror of the universe, this is Cooler in his final form. Appears in the movie "Cooler's Revenge". He possesses even greater power than his brother Frieza, and visits Earth to challenge Goku after he defeated his brother. A fierce battle between him and Goku then breaks out. Cooler is even more cold-blooded and combative than Frieza, yet he also has a greater sense of pride. He maintains Frieza's final form as his normal state, and from there he can transform once again to attain this form. After transforming to this state, he easily beats on Goku, who still in his normal state. But when Goku commits to protecting his friends and the rest of the universe from Cooler's cruelty, Goku transform into a Super Saiyan and turns the battle on its head. Finally, Cooler attempts to eliminate Goku and the entire planet Earth with a gigantic energy ball, but Goku counters by blasting him into the sun, where he burns up in the solar flames. His techniques and fighting style are similar to Frieza's, but since Cooler has a higher power level, all of his moves pack a greater force than Frieza's. He took his brothwe Frieza to be too easygoing, but just before he expired, he remembered how he too allowed Goku's space pod to escape as it left Planet Vegeta long ago, and realized that Frieza was not the only one who had been too lenient. In "The Return of Cooler", he is revived as Metal Cooler, burning with a desire to exterminate the Saiyans, and he once again does battle with Goku. ------ Broly [BRLY] ------ (CV: Bin Shimada, JP/ Vic Mignogna, US) The Legendary Super Saiyan, who appears in movies including "The Legendary Super Saiyan" and "Broly: Second Coming". Broly was born on Planet Vegeta the same day as Goku. The two even shared neighboring incubators. Having been subjected to Goku's relentless crying in the incubator would later serve as the pretext for the battle between them. As a result of Broly having a battle power of over 10,000 from the time he was little, his power was feared by Vegeta's father, King Vegeta, who ordered him killed along with his father, Paragas. After both of them are left for dead, Paragas determines to get revenge against the Vegeta family. Decades later, under the guise of doing away with the Legendary Super Saiyan, Paragas invites Vegeta to a "new" Planet Vegeta, called New Vegeta. In doing so he attempts to exact his revenge against the Prince of all Saiyans because this planet is on a collision course with a comet. Ordinarily, Broly's power was guided by a mind control device placed on his head by Paragas. However, when Goku came to New Vegeta via his Instant Transmission, Broly's instincts were awakened, and he became so unruly that not even Paragas could control him. Upon becoming the Legendary Super Saiyan, his monstrous battle power was triggered, and he defeated Goku and Vegeta together. He also demonstrated his brutality by killing Paragas after he tried to escaping and abandon Broly. Finally, with power received from his friends, Goku defeated him with a single blow, and it appeared he was destroyed, along with the explosion of New Vegeta. However, just before New Vegeta's explosion, he managed to escape in a spaceship and crash-landed on Earth near a small village in the mountains. He stayed there for seven years, critically injured and preserved in the ice. Later, in "Broly: Second Coming", when Goten, Trunks and Videl came to this same village in search of a Dragon Ball, the sound of Goten's cries revived Broly. He started a fight that drew in Goten and the others, eventually including Gohan who came to the rescue. This time Broly pressed his opponents to the brink of defeat, but with the assistance of Goku, who was brought back to life for just an instant through the power of the Dragon Balls, the father-son trio was finally able to defeat Broly. Later, in "Bio-Broly," he is reanimated using biotechnology but breaks out of his culture capsule halfway through his regeneration, leaving his whole body in a weird, melting gelatinous state. This "Bio-Broly" was a monster without a trace of rationality left within him. Including this "Bio-Broly" version, he has appeared in three different movies, making him the greatest, most powerful adversary with the most appearances. --------------------------- Bojack Post-Transformation [BJACK] --------------------------- (CV: Tessho Genda, JP/ Bob Carter, US) The transformed and more powerful version of the evil galactic warrior that caused chaos on Earth, together with his four underlings, appears in "Bojack Unbound". Long ago, he ran amuck across the four galaxies, together with his underlings, Gokua, Bido, Zangya, and Bujin. They were lockey away by the four Kai's, but their seal was broken when King Kai was killed. Planning to take over the earth as a first step towards their final goal of conquering the universe, they engage a young Gohan, Vegeta, and teenaged Trunks in an intense battle. Controlling his four underlings like they were his own hands and feet, Bojack display the cunning to use them as shields when he is threatened by Gohan. However, with a little help from Goku in Otherworld, the situation is reversed, and he is finally defeated after Gohan transforms to a Super Saiyan 2. By transforming into this version, the color of his skin and hair changes, and he is enveloped in an aura, while his battle power increases. All of these characteristics are similiar to the transformation of a Super Saiyan. His favorite moves include various types of energy waves, and he is skilled at using his power to pin his opponents. -------- Janemba [JAEMBA] -------- (CV: Tessho Genda, JP/ Kent Williams, US) A harmful monster that came into existence in Otherworld. Appears in the movie "Rebirth of Fusion". A Psyche Ogre that works in King Yemma's palace destroyed the Spirit Laundering machine due to his own carelessness, and when he was covered in the evil essences that came out of the ruined machine, a monster was born, locking King Yemma, palace and all, inside an alternate dimension creating great confusion between Earth and Otherworld. At first, he had a plump body and a blank face, but while fighting Goku at Super Saiyan 3, he transformed into this brutish form, displaying an overwhelming strength that punished even Goku. Afterward, he also beat up on Vegeta, who had been revived because of the disruption in Otherworld. While Pikkon risked his own life to keep Janemba in check, Goku and Vegeta succeeded in perfoming Fusion to finally become Gogeta and turn the tables on Janemba, wiping him out with a prisimatic energy attack. Possessing overwhelming power and speed, he is one of the strongest enemies from the movies. He had the ability to use spatial relocstion attacks. He had the ability to use spatial relocation attacks, dissolution teleportation, and psychokinesis, ------------ Baby Vegeta [BVGTA] ------------ (CV: Yusuke Numata, JP/ Mike McFarland, US) The embodiment of Baby, a parasitic warrior creature brought by the alien scientist Dr. Myuu, who took over Vegeta's body and then transformed into this final form. Appears in Dragonball GT. Baby has a genetic link to the king of the Tuffles, a race that was destroyed by the Saiyabs under the leadership of King Vegeta many years before. As such, he has an extremely strong desire for revenge against the Saiyans, as well as an ambition to convert all of creation into Tuffles by laying eggs throughout the universe. These eggs have the ability to take over another creature;s cells, making them his willing servants. Waiting until Goku and company were out in space, Baby took over the population of earth in one fell swoop. Baby managed to power himself up by taking over Goten and Gohan, and then successfully took over his ultimate goal of Vegeta. He also harvested energy from the Earthlings he had made his servants, and changed into this form. Having an extremely high power level, and by transforming into a Great Ape via a Blutz Wave emitting device invented by Bulma, who had become Baby's servant, he was the source of a great deal of pain for Goku. However, thanks to the powers of the Spirit Water, which returned everyone back to normal, Goku was able to borrow their power to do a great deal of damage to Baby, who abandoned Vegeta's body and fled in a spaceship. It looked as though Goku had let Baby escape, but with a gigantic Kamehameha blast, he plunged Baby and his spaceship, into the sun, where he was consumed by the solar flames. In addition to being able to use all of Vegeta's favorite moves in this form, he can gather the population's hatred of the Saiyans together to launch a Revenge Death Ball. He has an extremely selfish personality, and was even known for working his human servants to the death. --------- Super 17 [S17] --------- (CV: Shigeru Nakahara, JP/ Chuck Huber, US) A powerful foe that appears in Dragonball GT, the ultimate android, created by the merging of Android 17 and a new Android 17 that was formed in Hell.. Once defeated by Goku and sent to HFIL, Dr. Myuu and Dr. Gero, both brilliant scientists, created a new version of Android 17 in HFIL, which combined with Android 18's twin brother. He is the ultimate android, a combination of android and machine mutant. With the tough body of a machine mutant, he has a special energy absorption system that allows him to absorb any of his opponent's energy-based attacks. As a result of absorbing even Super Saiyan 4 Goku's attacks, Super 17 raised his own power tremendously and put a tough fight against Goku, how nearly gave up. However, Super 17 was only able to absorb an opponents energy while standing ready, a major weakness. Realizing that he was completely undefended in this stance, Goku and Android 18 combined their attack and defeated him. Super 17's favorite moves include the powerful Shocking Death Ball and Lightning Shower Rain attacks. He has high defensive powers, the ability to absorb energy, as well as the ability to use a Barrier technique, making him a tough opponent who rarely leaves himself open to attack. The original Android 17's personality does not show through this form, and he has no reservations about doing harm to others. However, he does pull his punches when attacking Android 18, leading us to believe there are still some faint familial recognition there. ---------- Great Ape [GAPE] ---------- (CV: Yasuhiko Kawazu, JP/ Shane Ray, US) The form of a lower-class Saiyan warrior who has transformed in the light of a full moon. Saiyans transform into giant apes when bathed in the light of a full moon. By doing so, they gain a ten-fold increase in power level as compared to their normal, human form. The downside of this is they become violent beasts without any rationality. Given these limitations, Saiyans can only transform into a Great Ape when a full moon is present. However, a limited number of Saiyans, including Vegeta, are able to create a Power Ball and mix it with the oxygen on the planet to create an artificial full moon. If the Blutz Waves are at a level of 17 million Zenos or higher, then transformation is possible. --------- Kid Goku [KGKU] --------- (CV: Masako Nozawa, JP/ Sean Schemmel, US) Goku as a young boy. He first appeared as the lead character of the TV-anime Dragonball. Born on the Planet Vegeta, our hero began his life as the Saiyan "Kakarot". A low-class warrior by birth, the infant Kakarot, second son of Bardock, was sent to Earth just before Planet Vegeta's destruction. After arriving on Earth, he met with an unexpected accident which cost him his memory. He was found by a kindly old man named Gohan, who took the boy into his care and raised him as his very own son. Upon seeing the full moon, Goku transformed into a Great Ape and accidentally stomped Gohan. After that, he lived alone in the mountains until meeting up with Bulma. Goku's most beloved possession is the Four-Star Dragonball, which he keeps as a memento of his adoptive grandfather. Goku had many adventures while searching for the Dragonballs with Bulma, and grew in both body and spirit. He also made many new friends along the way, including Master Roshi and Yamcha, among others. At the completion of his first quest to find the Dragonballs, Goku became a pupil of the great Master Roshi. It was during this time that Goku met Krillin, who would eventually become his best friend. As they trained, they used their friendly rivalry to push their strength to ever-increasing new heights. Goku's powers improved by leaps and bounds as he continued his intense training and battled stronger and stronger opponents. It was during the epic battle with King Piccolo, the first to ever put his life on the line, that Goku's indomitable Saiyan spirit first became apparent. It was Goku's love for his friends, as well as his strong sense of justice and hatred of evil, that pushed him to fight in the face of overwhelming odds. After defeating King Piccolo, Goku went out into the world alone to continue his training. Years passed, and when Goku finally returned, he had grown into a powerful young man. Goku's heart is so pure that he was unaffected by Devilman's Devilmite Beam, an attack which causes the evil in a person's heart to swell up and explode. However, as a result of living im seclusion with his grandfather for so long, he has very little in the way of worldy knowledge or social sensibilities, and is often struck by a sense of wonder as he discovers many new and fascinating things during his journeys. Goku has little sense of tact in social situations, and has the bad habit of bluntly speaking his mind. Fortunately for him, thanks to his good nature and complete innocence, nobody takes serious offense. As a boy, Goku's favorite techniques were taught to him by Master Roshi. However, there are some moves that he originally learned from his grandfather, such as his Power Pole and Janken techniques. Intially, Goku would lose his power if his tail was grabbed, but he overcame this weakness through rigorous training. After this, Goku's greatest weakness remained his voracious appetite, for he would lose his power when he became too hungry. Goku and Chichi were engaged to be married at a very young age. However, as was typical of Goku, he made the promise without knowing what the meaning of marriage was. ------------- Master Roshi [MROSHI] ------------- (CV: Hiroshi Masuoka, JP/ Mike McFarland, US) A lecherous martial artist and Goku and Krillin's master. Also known by the name Turtle Hermit, this funky old man wears a turtle shell on his back. After learning his fighting techniques from Mutaito, he devised a number of his own techniques, calling them his "Turtle style". He is a legendary martial artist, known of by anyone who takes up the art. However, he is an incredibly dirty old man at heart, and is always thinking about beautiful women. The amount of sexual harassment he has piled on Bulma in particular is incalculable. He is a person who even encourages his students bring him cute girls, or naughty books to look at in exchange for martial arts training. At the same time, he does display many compassionate attributes, such as watching over his pupils as they develop, and risking his life to stand against King Piccolo. Following the defeat of King Piccolo, he retired from the front lines of battle, choosing to live quietly with his turtle at Kame House. However, when the earth is in crisis, Kame House often becomes a base of operations. Among his favorite moves are the original Kamehameha wave, as well as the Afterimage technique. When he participated in the World Tournament disguised as Jackie Chun, he also performed the Sleeping Child attack and the World Surprise Attack. After Krillin and Android 18 were married, they moved in with him at Kame House. Roshi is known to go far as to risk his life making dangerously suggestive advances towards Android 18. It was Roshi that gave the Flying Nimbus to Goku, since he could obviously not ride it, so instead rode on his back of Gamera when he went to Fire Mountain. ------------ General Tao [GTAO] ------------ (CV: Chiako Otsuka, JP/ Kent Williams, US) The Crane Hermit's younger brother, and a brutal assassin. Generally considered to be the world's foremost assassin, he is a 20-year veteran of the profession. Hired by the Red Ribbon Army's Commander Red to kill Goku and steal his Dragon Balls, he easily dispatched Bora, the guardian of the Holy Land of Korin. He once even left Goku badly defeated. However, in a rematch with Goku, who had increased his strength dramatically by training atop Korin's Tower, he was vigorously worked over, and his hand grenade sneak-attack was also turned back against him, blowing him away. His primary favorite move is the Dodonpa Wave, but he also uses deadly rushes unique to the Crane style of fighting. When in a pinch, he will use any dirty tricks he can, so it is best to not take your eyes off him. Returning later as a cyborg, he entered the World Tournament, but was easily defeated by Tien. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Things that I'm aware of ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are some stuff in the profiles in the game that have repeated text in them and are not in this guide.
