INTRODUCTION ======================================================================== Hey all, this is yet another FAQ but this time on something I really enjoy all aspects of, I have been a fan of DbZ since 1997. My grandmother bought me this game called dragonball GT Final Bout, I still have that game sealed cause she died after the day I got it, well to keep the memory I saved the game and just started reading and watching the Db series, and now im here making this for a great game. So I hope this is worth your time!!! ======================================================================== II. VERSION HISTORY ======================================================================== Version 1.0 - This is the start of the FAQ. December 7, 2002. Version 1.1 - Well I am running through this FAQ nicely and I have added the story section so that anyone that really doesn't know whets going on will now have an idea. So I'm almost there. December 8, 2002. Version 1.2 - Well the Story mode list is complete, but for those of you that want the complete DbZ story you will have to hold off until I can use another PC with a better windows so that I will be able to create a larger document. December 9, 2002. Version 1.3 - The Characters Unique Moves are finished, and the Story mode is now complete and added to the FAQ. The capsule list should be done soon. I also added a site contact section were this FAQ was asked to be posted. Also there are more questions answered. December 15, 2002. DBZ STORY & SAGA'S ======================================================================== Okay this is the low down on all the stories and saga's since Budokai basically crammed over 200 of the series episodes into one game The game starts with the Saiyan Saga and ends at the Android Saga which goes into the Cell Games, anyways this section will get you caught up on the story so you will know what is going on. Its a great story so Enjoy!!!!! 1.) Saiyan Saga This is the beginning of the DbZ Series, after the events of the Dragonball series Goku had married his wife Chi Chi and had a son which they named Gohan after Goku's Grandpa. All was going great and so one day Goku Decided to take Gohan and meet up with all of his friends he met during the DB series. Then as everything seemed good a man by the name of Radditz had come from space and turned out to be Goku's Bro. He told Goku that he was sent to earth by his race the Saiyans when he was a baby to grow and annihilate the people of Earth, Goku though had banged his head and lost all memory of his mission, Radditz told Goku if he did not kill a 100 humans before tomorrow he wouldn't give back Gohan, anyways after hurting Goku, Piccolo showed up and said he would join up with him to help Goku beat Radditz, nobody trusted Piccolo but they had no choice, they went on to confronting Radditz and beating him. Piccolo's first intentions were to kill his rival Goku, and Radditz, and take over the world. Goku and Piccolo thought they had won but Radditz told them that two more powerful Saiyans had heard them talking about using the Dragonballs to wish Goku back through a communicator and a power reader called a scouter. So after seeing Goku and Radditz die Piccolo forgot about world conquer and decided train Gohan while Goku (now in Heaven) went on his way to King Kai to train for the new threat. Goku however was a day late and the two Saiyans Nappa, and Vegeta had arrived on Earth and confronted and defeated the Z warriors Tien Chaiotzu, and Yamcha. Piccolo bravely died saving Gohan from Nappa's blast. After all that Goku finally arrived and killed Nappa without getting hit once, Vegeta though was a great fighter and struggled against Goku, but after getting beat up he transformed into a giant ape, and ability which all saiyans are born with. Since Goku had his tail removed in DB he no had the ability and started to get pummeled by Vegeta. Krillen tried to cut the tail off but failed, after Vegeta let his guard down trying to defeat Goku a man that is very weak and hardly ever fights named Yajarobi sliced his tail off making him transform back into normal. Goku was no longer in shape to fight so he did what he could to make a small spirit bomb and gave it to krillen, Vegeta jumped out of the way but Gohan deflected back at Vegeta hurting him bad enough it made him retreat to where he came from to heal. Oh and when Vegeta made the light which resembles the moons light Gohan transformed cause his tail grew back and pummeled Vegeta. This marks the end to the Saiyan Saga. 2.) Namekian Saga Nappa and Vegeta didnt care that they killed Piccolo cause they knew if they went back to Piccolo's home at Namek they would find Dragonballs there also. See Piccolo was connected to the Dragonballs and the watcher of Earth Kami who made the DB's. So without Piccolo the dragonballs couldn't exist anymore. The thing is Vegeta and Nappa had scouters so at that time of talking and hearing about the balls a male creature of unfathomable power named Frieza was interested in making a wish for eternal life so that he could rule forever. Goku was in the hospital while Bulma, Gohan, Krillen, and Oolong rode the space ship built by Bulmas father Dr. Briefs to Namek. Once there they encounter a few weak opponents and took care of them easily, later though they saw Vegeta's space pod arrive and though Vegeta was less stronger he later encountered Dodoria whom he beat with ease. Zarbon on the other hand was much stronger then Vegeta thought, see Zarbon told Vegeta that beauty was only skin deep and in his case it was true, Zarbon revealed to Vegeta that he had the ability to transform into a more powerful creature. After defeating Vegeta, Zarbon powered down and flew back to tell Frieza that Vegeta was no longer a threat and that he is dead. Zarbon didn't know that Vegeta had survived though, and with Vegeta's saiyan ability to increase his power level after a near death experience came back to fight Zarbon in which he killed him. Gohan, and Krillen had went to collect more Dragonballs and encountered Guru who was the head Namekian, because he was the wisest and oldest of all the Nameks, Guru helped Gohan, and Krillen cause he saw that they had good intentions and so used a technique on them to unlock their fighting potential. Around this time Frieza had called upon the Ginyu Force to take care of Vegeta, and the rest from Earth. When the Ginyu had arrived Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillen did the best they could to hold there own but were defeated with only taking out the Ginyu Force member Guldo, Next up was Recoom who took out all of them and was about to finish them off until Goku had arrived just in time to take out Recoom, and Burter. Vegeta at the time fought and killed Juice, after which he charged Ginyu. Ginyu let Vegeta mess him up thinking that he would just use the body swap again, but to Ginyu's dismay Goku and intervened and jumped in reclaiming his body, Ginyu then tried once more to get Vegeta's body, but again an injured Goku intervened by throwing a frog into the path of the change now beam. After the battle Vegeta took Goku to a recuperation chamber that would heal him. See Vegeta knew he would need Goku's help against Frieza so he wanted to wait untill Goku was healed. As he was healing Vegeta tried to take a quick nap, when he awoke he saw the sky was black and new that Gohan, and Krillen had used the Namek Dende to help them awake the Dragon and ask for three wishes. Vegeta rushed to their spot and when he got there he was preparring to annihilate the three until Frieza himself showed up. Gohan managed to get Dende to ask for two wishes though which was to revive Piccolo and the second was to bring him to Namek. Piccolo was now on his way to Gohan but ran into the beat up Namekian named nail who had recently fought against Frieza, nail then fused with Piccolo making him even stronger. Now when Piccolo caught up with the three, Vegeta insisted he was a super saiyan and wanted to confront Frieza alone, he was fighting well until Frieza transformed into his second state which gave him even more power and let him over-power Vegeta. at this time he attempted to kill Krillen, but thanks to Dende healing him he was saved. Piccolo then intervened and was bringing him down until Frieza transformed into his third form. Frieza then beat Piccolo and turned back to Vegeta. While Piccolo was fighting Frieza however he made Krillen blast him with a blast that almost killed him, and again thanks to Dende Vegeta was healed and even stronger. Now that Frieza was getting irritated he decided to transform into his final form to erase all speculations of any persons beating him. Goku now was out of the healing pod and raced to the battle scene where he found Vegeta near death. Vegeta said that Frieza killed his dad and forced him to take orders from him. Frieza then killed Vegeta and faced off against Goku. They fought for awhile but then Goku took on the act of making a huge spirit bomb which he used against Frieza. The bomb should have worked but Frieza somehow survived and came back and shot a critical blow to Piccolo, after which he killed Krillen. At the sight of Krillen dying Goku became enraged and turned into a super saiyan. After Frieza realized he couldn't beat him he attempted to blow up the planet. Meanwhile Kami was telepathically talking to King Kai and Goku and made a plan to revive all the people Frieza killed in one years time. This worked and with the revival of some of the Namekian civilization Guru had also been revived since he only died of pain of his people dying. This event let the Namek DB's reactivate and allowed Dende to grant a third wish, this wish granted that all the inhabitants at that time be transported to Earth except Frieza, and Goku. Goku ended up defeating Frieza after Frieza had struck himself with is own attack. After the battle Goku used a ship from the Ginyu force to leave Namek just in time cause Frieza's ship wasn't working. All the Nameks were still on Earth and Dende healed Piccolo, Guru died there but not after appointing a new Namekian leader. Later after one year they used the Earth DB's to give the Nameks a new Planet because of their loss of the first one, Dende however didn't want to leave so he was appointed the position Kami had. They tried reviving Goku the dragon Shenlong said that it was impossible cause he was still alive. This was the end to the Namekian Saga!!! 3.) Android Saga - After the Namek's had moved to their new a home, The Z warriors one day felt an enormous power level coming to Earth and they new it was none other than Frieza, see after Goku defeated him Frieza was barley alive floating through space until Frieza's father King Cold located him and picked him up to repair him, The only thing was that he was so badly damaged that they had to use Cybernetic attachments to save him and rebuild him, it worked and it also made him allot more stronger then before. On earth the Z warriors flew towards the power level to encounter Frieza who was really coming for the sole purposes of destroying Goku and everything he loved. when Frieza landed he was encounter by a boy named Trunks who killed his henchmen him and his father King Cold. trunks then blew up Frieza's ship and told the Z warriors to come with him to meet Goku. When Goku arrived Trunks talked alone with him and said he was from the future and that Androids made from Dr.Gero were going to be activated and destroy all the Z warriors and cause nothing but fear and pain for the Earth and its inhabitants. He also told Goku he was going to die from a heart disease, but gave him the antidote so he would be saved. After that he left as the Z warriors began to prepare for the coming of the Androids. Years past and what Trunks said was true (sort of) see two androids began to devastate a town near West City which attracted the Z warriors to go and fight, the two Androids 19, and 20 told Goku that he studied him and the warriors for years and made it so he had no chance of winning. The one thing that #20 didn't know was the events that took place on Namek and thus didn't know that Goku could transform into a Super Saiyan, Goku made the Android follow him away from the City were they could fight without anyone innocent getting hurt. #20 made #19 fight Goku, Goku seemed to be doing quite well until the dreaded heart disease that Trunks talked about came upon him giving #19 the upper hand, it seemed like Goku was done for until Vegeta came onto the scene and showed he had the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan as well. At this time Trunks had come back to the Past and felt the power levels of the warriors still fighting and so headed into the direction of them. Vegeta killed #19 and bluffed his way out of getting into a fight with #20 who would have attack Vegeta if weakened which he was. #20 then took off leaving Vegeta and the Z warriors. #20 tried to beat Piccolo but lost since Piccolo spent his time training for him. #20 was then cornered until Trunks arrived to tell them that the head of the android #19 and the android #20 before them was not the androids he had spoke of. It turned out the #20 was actually Dr.Gero himself, he then evaded the warriors again and rushed to his lab to activate the two androids Trunks was Familiar with, Androids #17, and #18. Upon the two new Androids activation Android #17 killed Dr.Gero, and activated Android #16. The Androids then went on a search for Goku While on the search for Goku Trunks went into the lab and destroyed everything including Cell who was still incubating in a tube. The Z warriors then went on to confront the new threat on a highway Vegeta with his new ability fought #18 but was beaten badly and then she kicked Vegeta breaking his arm and taking him out of comission. Trunks then tried avenging his father but was beaten along with all the other warriors. Time was passing and the Androids destroyed what they could, #16 however wouldn't hurt anything as he loved nature and his only true intention due to his programming was to kill Goku. Meanwhile some place else another ship exactly like Trunks arrived and was in bad condition, and looked very old, what arrived with that ship was Cell from the Future who came back for the sole purpose of becoming perfect by absorbing Androids #17, and #18. See he couldn't have done this in the future cause Trunks eventually killed them before Cell was fully grown, Cell killed Trunks and took his time machine. With the arrival of Cell meant new problems and after he came out his larva stage into his imperfect Cell form he went on to cities to absorbed the inhabitants, each human he absorbed gave him more power that he needed to beat and absorbed the androids. After the Z warriors found out about Cell the went on to stop him at all cost. Piccolo and the others new they couldn't beat the Androids and Cell so Piccolo went to Kami and they made an agreement that they would once again fuse back together as one being. This made Piccolo much more powerful and he went off to fight Imperfect Cell, Krillen was the first one to lose by Cell, but when Piccolo fought him he was winning until Cell absorbed his arm and made it look like a raisin. Cell thought that he had him until Piccolo ripped his arm off and regenerated it back to new. Cell then retreated and escaped Piccolo so that he could just absorb the androids and become stronger, Piccolo later went on to face Android #17 because Goku was still healing from the heart disease and everyone was afraid of Goku getting killed while healing. Piccolo but up a great effort against #17 but the only problem was that Piccolo was losing his energy while Android #17 wasn't losing anything. After thinking it was over Imperfect Cell came and absorbed #17 making him transform and become even more powerful. At this time Goku was healed and got Gohan off Chi Chi so that he could train with him in the hyperbolic time chamber so that they could defeat Cell. The time chamber is a place where one day of our time is a year inside the chamber. Vegeta insisted to go in the chamber first with Trunks. While training Vegeta gained the ability to increase his power close to a Super Saiyan two, this came to be known as a ultimate Super Saiyan, Trunks however gained more strength than Vegeta and came even closer to a Super Saiyan two. On the outside of the chamber Android #16, Krillen, and Piccolo were trying to stop Cell from absorbing #18 and thus becoming complete. Android #16 was beating Cell when trying to stop him from absorbing #17 cause he was stronger then both androids and Cell, but with Cells transformation and new strength #16 was defeated. Bulma was informed top work on a self destruct switch which the Android #17 destroyed so Gero wouldn't be able to stop them. She had completed this device and gave it to Krillen to use on #18. Meanwhile #16, and #18 had fled so that Cell wouldn't get her, Cell then began destroying the islands in an attempt to flush her out. At this time Vegeta and Trunks were getting out of the time chamber and went off to fight Cell, leaving Goku, and Gohan training. Vegeta went and confronted Cell and was destroying him, Cell new he was going to lose so he fooled Vegeta into letting him absorb #18 since Vegeta wanted a better challenge and thought with his new power he couldn't be beaten. Krillen arrived with the destruction switch but destroyed it cause he had fallen in love with #18, Trunk new Cell would get to strong and so tried to stop Cell, Vegeta however was stopping Trunks cause he wanted to fight a Perfect Cell, trunk got frustrated after Cell had recognized #18 hiding and hit Vegeta with a powerful kick sending him flying. With Vegeta down for the moment Trunks battle Cell the best he could until Cell tricked him and went for #18, she attacked but with the new transformed Cell it was worthless and she was absorbed making Cell into Perfect Cell and attaining his dream. Vegeta had now come back to face Cell and did no harm at all, Cell mocked Vegeta and his strength, this enraged Vegeta and made him strike Cell with a powerful kick to the neck, to Vegeta shock the kick didn't do any damage at all and Cell went on to beating Vegeta literally senseless. Now it was Trunks turn, see Trunks understood his fathers pride and didn't want him seeing that he had surpassed his power, so he waited until Vegeta had gotten knocked out. So with that done Trunks powered up to Ultra Super Saiyan two which was a form even closer to Super Saiyan two than Goku or Vegeta had achieved, Trunks then made Krillen take Vegeta somewhere safe where he be safe. Trunks then started to fight Cell but with little effects. Trunks couldn't understand why he would be losing and then Cell told him that he too could bulk up his muscles for more strength but it is pointless since the your speed drops dramatically making it virtually impossible to beat a faster fighter, so even though Trunks was stronger he wouldn't be able to match Cell's speed. Trunks knew he wouldn't win so he told Cell to just kill him, Cell than declined saying that he would hold a tournament just like the ones that used to be held to see who the strongest fighter in the world was, the only trick was that if nobody could beat Cell than he would destroy the Earth. Trunks then left to tell the others, and at this time Goku, and Gohan had finished their training and came out of the time chamber as Super Saiyans. See in the chamber Goku helped Gohan achieve Super Saiyan as well as doing something totally new, Goku and Gohan decided to stay as Super Sayins until it felt natural since transforming took such a toll on the body it be perfect. Goku also realized while training that Gohan had even greater power sleeping within him. Meanwhile Cell was busy in preparing the tournament after Goku went off to confront him and tell him that he and anyone else who threatened the Earth would lose and basically left with that. Everyone waited for the tournament, while Cell waited impatiently to fight Goku and see his power as everyone else had because Goku was unusually calm when such a great battle was suppose to come. Android #16 however was getting repaired by Bulma at the Capsule Corporation which her father owned. The time for the Cell games had arrived and Goku was the first to fight Cell, they fought very long and seemed like Goku had him, Goku used a move never before seen by combining the Kamehameha with the instant transmission creating the Warp Kamehameha. The battle went on until Goku through in the towel and told Cell that he could not defeat him. Cell thought that there was nobody else that could match his strength and told Goku is he didn't fight who would, this is when Goku told Cell that Gohan be the next contestant. Gohan stepped out and nobody thought Gohan could do it until Gohan powered up revealing that he had immense power, Gohan fought Cell for a brief time but eventually got tired at which point he told Cell he didn't want to fight anymore, Gohan told Cell that when he losses the blacks out and beats then opponent until he is incapable of fighting back and told Cell he didn't want to kill him. Being that there is Saiyan blood in Cell he was eager to see Gohan's strength and tried pushing him to lose control and get angry, while trying to beat on Gohan Android #16 stepped in fully repaired thanks to Bulma, #16 took Cell by surprised and told everyone to run as far as they could cause he was going to self destruct and kill Cell. Bulma then told #16 that she took out the bomb at which point Cell channeled a blast of energy through his back destroying all but #16's head. After that Cell still wanted to get Gohan angry so he unleashed Cell Jr's to start hurting everyone of the Z warriors. Gohan was beginning to lose it, #16 as a head then asked Mr. Satan/Hercule to toss him over to Gohan, he told Gohan that it was alright to lose his anger to bring about peace and protect others, Cell was untouched though and went to destroy #16 for good, #16 at the last moment said to Gohan "please protect the life I love so much". When Cell destroyed #16 Gohan totally lost it and transformed into a Super Saiyan two and went on to kill all the Cell Jr's with one hit. Gohan then beat Cell badly with until he had to power up to a stronger form, this was still useless and with one punch made him regurgitated Android #18 thus making him go back to a less Imperfect Cell. Cell knew he couldn't beat Gohan so he attempted to blow up the world and kill everyone even himself. Goku then intervened and instant transmission Cell to King Kai's planet saving the world. Now everyone was talking and thought that it was over until a beam came down from the sky and killed Trunks, it was Cell in his Perfect Form and even stronger, Cell survived cause he was able to regenerate from a single Cell. At the sight of Trunks dead Vegeta attacked Cell but was beaten, Cell then attempted to finish off Vegeta but Gohan intervened and took his attack which left Gohan with a paralyzed arm. This is when Cell decided to try and finish the fight with a Kamehameha, Gohan thought it was over but with inspiring words from Goku he went on to power struggle Cell with a Super Kamehameha, Cell wasn't letting up until Vegeta attacked him making him distracted long enough for Gohan to push the attack and Kill him for good. This is the end of the Android Saga and the game. ======================================================================== IV. THINGS TO KNOW ======================================================================== If you are going to be playing Dragonball Z: Budokai your going to at least have to know the basics of it. This section will catch you up on all that you need to know. Also for those of you that will be renting this game lm dedicating most of these topics to you! 1.) Controls You will be using the controller in two areas of the game first is the Menu controls and then there are Battle controls. Menu Start - Skip Movie X - Select item Left/Right - Move Character Triangle - Cancel Battle O - Ki Blast Wave X - Guard Square - Punch Triangle - Kick R1 - Punch + Kick R2 - Punch + Guard L1 - Not Used L2 - Not Used Advanced Battle Advanced Kick/Punch - By pressing the Kick/Punch button while moving towards or away from an opponent you can unleash a new more powerful attack. You can even combine attacks together. Gathering Ki - You can gather Ki by holding guard then press back twice then hold back. Also when you land attacks your Ki goes up. Deflect/Return - If you press guard right before a Ki blast hits you it will be slapped away, if you time it better you can return it to your opponent. Dodge - Tap guard while pressing Up or Down, this will allow you to move in a circle around your opponent which is great to get away from the edge of the ring. Dash - double tap the forward or back to you opponent to dash at increased speeds. Grapple - By pressing punch and guard next to an opponent will allow you to grapple them. Energy Punch - Press Punch and Kick at the same time to charge energy into a more powerful attack the longer you hold them in the stronger it will be. Energy Kick - Press Kick and Guard at the same time to charge energy into a kick attack, the you hold them in the more powerful it will be Taunt - Press all four button all together at once to make your character taunt the opponent. 2.) Game Modes a.) Story Mode The Story here is the full actually story that is shown in the series and the one that I have typed for you below, anyways there are some bonuses, after you complete the story mode for the first time you will unlock what if stories, something all DbZ fans will love!!! b.) Duel Mode This is just somewhere for you and another person to fight one on one, also you have the opportunity to just battle a single computer player to train and get better at the game. c.) Practice This is a really cool mode where you can practice on all the characters and see just who you are the best with, the only thing I don't like about this is that once you transform into a state you stay that way and never power down, meaning you wont be able to do some moves as say normal Goku that you cant do while a Super Saiyan. But the practice has a menu were you can make the AI do nothing or just fight you with everything it has, also you have the option to turn on or off the damage and button configuration. It rounds out to be a great mode. d.) World Tournament Mode Probably one of the funniest yet hardest modes in the game, you start off with being able to play as Novice and then get all way to expert. The thing that makes this hard is that you have to worry about two things, one the AI can kill you, and two the AI can defeat you by knocking you out of the ring, which makes you get a ring out and thus disqualifies you from the rest of the competition. The most important thing about doing this mode is the money you earn money to spend in Mr. Popo's shop to buy skills, The money you get for all three difficulties is, Difficulty - # of Fights - Runner Up Winnings - Champion Winnings Novice - 3 - $5,000.00 - $10,000.00 Adept - 4 - $15,000.00 - $30,000.00 Advanced - 5 - $25,000.00 - $50,000.00 To win you are going to have to be able to quickly dodge around so the AI doesn't just get you by Ring Out and you will have to be able to block well and hit the AI quickly and with little to no mistakes, trying to Ring Out on the AI is dangerous and unless you feel you can do I suggest you don't try. But you will like this mode allot cause its so new and innovative. 3.) Exciting Skill System This in short is the E.S.S basically you have a mode called Edit Skills in here you will find Mr.Popo who sells all the capsules, see the capsules are skills like Kamehameha, Final Flash etc. they are also however throwing moves and other things like transforma- tions. In this mode you will be able to customize your character any way that you please and you have three ways in particular. 1.) No Death moves but a high Guard ability 2.) Ferocious physical attacker 3.) A one shot Death move killer You obviously need skills to do this so if you don't have the money to get them from Popo then just play through Story mode, but I advise you to just do Tournament mode and then get money for Popo. Now when you get more characters and skills you will be able to customize them as you see fit. See each character will have a case of capsules you can attain in the game, and you can attach up to seven capsules to one character. stronger capsules have a higher cost though, each skill from a capsule comes with a card that will show you how to perform the move, who can perform it, how its used, and some capsules skill take up more then one space some may take two, and some may take three. The most important thing to remember when trying to make a strong fighter is that you can set more than one of the same capsule if you have more then one, so if you attach two Big Bangs to Vegeta his attack will be stronger and bigger. 4.) Burst Zone The Burst Zone is a very cool and unique feature in this game and marks it as the first new thing to hit this new Dragonball game. The burst zone is activated in battle when you and an opponent strike each other with the same move, the easiest way to activate the burst zone is to press or hold R1 and charge a punch, this is the easiest because you can see when your opponent is doing the motion and charging. Anyways while in the burst zone the screen turns black with lightning effects and you and the opponent will be hitting each other at blazing speeds. Now when in the zone circle the left analogue stick fast, if you get the most rotations you will perform a knock back or stun hit, leaving your opponent pushed back and open for an attack. 5.) Dragonballs & Shenlong You start off in then game with the four star Dragonball, the rest you will have to go buy from Mr. Popo's skill shop. He sells them randomly in his Recommended Capsule section for $8,000.00 a ball. Collecting all the balls will allow you to summon Shenlong and he will grant you one wish with the option of giving the wish to one of three fighters, making the choice of a character will earn you a Breakthrough capsule which can only be attained from Shenlong. If the character you want to have the Breakthrough isn't there just exit and re-wish until you get the desired fighter you want. 7.) Breakthrough Capsules As I have explained above you get Breakthrough Capsules from Shenlong. Using the Breakthrough capsule on a character will make it so that all the ability and physicals skill will get attached and wont allow you to attach another skill cause all seven space slots will get taking up, also since it doesn't give you any support skill, you characters strength is better than his defense. On the plus side though the Breakthrough Capsule will double the effect of all the capsules it uses. If you take Vegeta and add his break- through capsule then he will have Big Bang x2, Final Flash x2, and all physical attacks x2, like meteor flash, provided you have the capsules. ======================================================================== V. STAGES & HIDDEN AREAS ======================================================================== Well I feel this is a nice little section to add onto cause its really a cool little feature in this game, see in each stage there is one area where if you hit your opponent with a charged attack or if you kick them back at the end of a stage they will go through various objects from mountains, floors, and even boulders! now if something like that happens it means you didn't get them in the right area usually making the person just bounce off an imaginary wall, when you think about it knocking the opponent through to the hidden area makes it to like a whole new level. Remember that big attacks will destroy the each level altogether. Stage Name - Hidden Area - Description 1.) Cell Ring - - 2.) Planet Namek - - 3.) Valley Plains - - 4.) World Match - - 5.) Grassland - - 6.) Time Soul Room - - 7.) Rock Mountain - - 8.) Island - - 9.) Shrine - - Also you can chose a random stage to duel at by pressing down at the stage selection screen. And each stage can be blown to a wasteland by using any characters special attack like the Big Bang, or a death Ball. ======================================================================== VI. The thing about the moves listed though are that they are unique which you cant find in the start menu during fighting while playing. The capsule in this game are separated into four categories and they are
 a very important thing in this game. The capsules allow you to make a
  character or customize them as you see fit, adding more then one of 
   a capsule increase its effect and allows you to get strongest in a 
    certain aspect.  You will also find that there are capsule that
     can tip any fight in your favor and actually help you during 
      a match. So without further words he is the list of caps!

Inside of each Capsule is a skill and each skill comes with a card these
cards tell allot, from how to use the skill to whether or not you can
trade it, and even the rarity of the skill. So here is how to read them.
Also not that the rarity basically tells you how much that card will
cost you, there are a few exceptions which I'll list below.

This Game is really extensive and the Secrets are no exception, if I

   are just as fun to get as they are seeing whats coming, and
    unlocking everything to know that YOU accomplished it all
     and completed the whole game. Ok so maybe you don't care

2.) Unlock More Tournament Modes
    Adept    - Beat Novice then Go to Mr. Popo's Shop and Buy Adept
    Advanced - Beat Adept then Go to Mr. Popo's Shop and Buy Advanced

2.) Legend of Hercule Mode
    After beating world tournament mode on advanced, go to Mr. Popo's 
    shop the recommended capsule will be the Legend of Hurcule Mode.  
    There are 11 fighters in this mode and you have to defeat them
    all without losing to complete this mode. Once you have beat
    all the fighters you will get a final score which you can submit
    your success at this website that I typed below for you people

    After submitting you will see what you rank is among all the
    other people that have submitted, so keep trying and maybe you
    will be on top, but believe me its really hard to accomplish!!

3.) Alternate Story lines
    Piccolo - Complete Saiyan Saga Once, New Episodes Will Then Open
    Vegeta  - Complete Saiyan Saga Once, New Episodes Will Then Open
    Frieza  - Complete Namekian Saga Once, Two New Episodes Will Open
    Cell    - Complete Android Saga Once, Two New Episodes will Open
 
4.) Alternate Backgrounds
    After you complete each Saga Story Mode, Do a soft reset with the
    PS2 controller (all games do this) just press all buttons. Once 
    done you will be brought back to the start menu, each time you
    do this you will get a different background, three in all.

5.) Alternate Costumes
    When selected a character press circle, instead of X. Doing this 
    allows you to play the character in a different outfit.

6.) Edit Character Fun
    In the Edit skills menu you can go through the characters capsules
    and customize them the way you want, but as you go left or right 
    through the characters you will notice a 3d image of the character
    you are editing on the upper left corner, and by using your 
    controller you can do many things with the image, below is a list
    of buttons and what they do. At least I thought this was cool!!!

7.) Dragon Radar Fun
    While any part of this game is loading to a scene or a fight, a 
    black screen comes up with a depiction of a dragon radar like the
    one in the show. The clever developers made it so to pass the 
    loading time you can control the blip of the radar with the L3
    analoge stick. Also you can make it go back to a scanning motion by
    pressing the L3 button.

8.) Random Stage Select
    While playing duel mode you can chose to randomley select a stage 
    by pressing down, make the picture have question marks other than 
    a pictue of the stage with pop ups. It's interesting but you might 
    just want to pick your favorite stage.

 Well I know there is allot of questions about this game, I had alot for
  myself at one point, but here is the low down.  If there is something
   you DONT find in this FAQ just send me an email, I will review it,
    at if its not in the FAQ then it will be posted here. ENJOY!!!!

Q.) Is there a Buu Saga?
A.) No but the programmers said we will see it but not yet.

Q.) Where is the Garlic Jr. Saga?
A.) That was just a filler that Funimations put in.

Q.) Is there any other characters from after the Android Saga?
A.) Well no only Saiyanman is there, it was just a bonus.

Q.) Are there Cut-Scenes for attacks like in DbGT Final Bout?
A.) Yes and no, some attacks have them some don't.

Q.) What type of an attack do I use to push the opponent away?
A.) The PPKKK attack is by far the best for hits and a push back.

Q.) Why can I only attach two caps on and the games says three?
A.) That is a typo in the skills menu you can only have two.

Q.) How do I connect the Wolf Fang Fist?
A.) The move has slow reaction time, so get them why there down.

Q.) Is there a Super Saiyan 4 Goku to unlock?
A.) No some guy made a new account and posted that crap.
