Your goal is to play four beautiful songs for the Martians who have already left Mars and are on their way to Earth! They will arrive in one week's time, so you have seven days to play four beautiful songs - even if you screw up the song, it counts as a day, so do your best! -------- Contents -------- 1. How to Play 2. Menu Screens 3. Music (Levels) 4. Acknowledgements -------------- 1. How to Play -------------- The point of Bravo Music is to conduct music. That is, to keep the orchestra to a beat as well as instructing them on how light or strong to play each measure. The main play screen is set up like this: _ / \ | | | | | | __ | | / \ | | | | __ | | \__/ / \ | | __ __ / \ | | / \ / \ \ / | | | | | | | | | | \__/ \__/ | | | | __ | | | | / \ | | | | | | | | | | \__/ / \ | | \ / / \ Conductor \__/ | | Buttons Pressure | | Gauge \___/ Power Meter The Power Meter shows how well you are doing. The closer the bar is to the bottom, the worse you're doing. Try to keep it at the top at all times, as it needs to be full when the song ends. If it hits the very bottom, you're done too. The Pressure Gauge gives you an indication as to how hard you are hitting the buttons (blue, green, or red). Push down lightly on the buttons to make it hit blue, normally to hit green, and hit the buttons hard to make the gauge hit red. The Conductor Buttons is what you'll be looking at for most of the game. In fact, you'll be staring at these until your eyes hurt. A blue ball will go around the buttons counter-clockwise, and it's up to you to press the corresponding button on your controller (Triangle, Square, X, or O) at the same time it hits. So... you will always be pressing the same combination of Triangle, Square, X, O, Triangle, Square, X, O, over and over again (in 4/4 time, in 3/4 time the number of Conductor Buttons will be reduced to three, in this case, use Triangle, Square, O). The tricky part comes in with the increasing and decreasing speed of the music, as well as how loud or soft the music is to be played. Let's look at an example: __ / \ To play this, you would first press down | R | Triangle very hard, because it's red. \__/ __ __ Now, press Square as you normally would, / \ / \ not hard, but not too softly either. | G | | G | \__/ \__/ Next is another red, so press X down hard. __ / \ Finally, press O with a normal pressure. | R | \__/ Makes sense so far? Another thing they'll do to trip you up is to throw in arrows at certain parts in each song. All you do is push the D-Pad in the direction of the arrow at the same time you press the button. Let's look again: __ / \ In this situation, you would first press | B | the triangle button very lightly, as the \__/ first colour is blue. __ __ / \ / \ Now lightly again with the Square button. | B | |R/Up| \__/ \__/ Now push it down hard with X. __ / \ Finally, push O down hard and press Up on | R | the D-Pad simultaneously. \__/ Easy, right? You can do it with a little practice. Although you won't get better without practice, this'll help you get started! Also remember that every once in a while a star will show up in a circle, --------------- 2. Menu Screens --------------- From the main screen you have five choices: * Tutorial Welcome! To Bravo Music World! Press O to go through the tutorial screens, press Start to exit. You might not have much luck here if you can't read Japanese. * Game Start When you choose Game Start, a text wondow comes up asking if you would like to view the tutorial first. Choose the left option for Yes, right option for No. Choosing Story Mode on the main menu screen will start the actual game. You have four main options: ____ / \ /Story \ Choose from a selection of six songs to conduct. \ / \____/ ____ /Game\ /Sett- \ Set Volume (1-7) and Conductor Button Pressure \ ings / ____ \____/ / \ / Save \ Do you want to save? Yes/No \ / \____/ ____ / \ / Exit \ Return to Title? Yes/No, Save before exit? Yes/No \ / \____/ * Game Load When you press O, a text window comes up asking whether you want to load this data, left option for Yes, right for No. If you press X, you are asked if you want to check for other data. This is for if you want to insert another memory card, because you can only save one game on each memory card. * Child Mode In Child Mode you can choose from six planets, each leading to a different song. Child Mode is really, really boring, because there is no pressure measure and no arrows. You just press the buttons in sequence over and over. Still, you should check it out for the freaky looking bear on the loading screen. * Toy Box View toys you have collected (more info later). ----------------- 3.
