Credits ============================================================================== I. Introduction ============================================================================== Hello! Welcome to my third FAQ that I made. Well, actually, it's not really the third FAQ. Instead, this FAQ are the mixed one from the first two FAQs. A lot of people have emailed me recently about the mismatch of the FAQ title and the FAQ content. I know about that and I've request a removal of the FAQ and will be changed by this FAQ. Sorry for the inconvenience, though. This game titled Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, is released at the same time as the Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana 2. Anyway, this guide is supposed to be the guide of the first game. Though I haven't found all of the Mana Synthesis and Item Synthesis yet (because in some cases, I'm too lazy to mix it up of I might accidentally missed it), this guide can be of a reference for playing. Contact me for any questions at: gismovaliant@yahoo.com or gismovaliant@netscape.net I will mark the updated section by adding [UPDATE] icon accordingly. ============================================================================== II. Mana Synthesis Section ================================================================================ *************** A. Mana Spirits *************** ------------------ 1. What is a Mana? ------------------ In this world of Regallzine, there lives the Great Spirits called Mana. So, Mana is like elements which lives. They have their own mind and body. Mana can be controlled by an alchemist and it's power can be used by the corresponding alchemist. There are many Mana elements around us and the elements can be extracted also by an alchemist. This element would then be used to create Mana Items. Each Mana has its own element cost to create a Mana Item. For example for the Fire Mana, Uru, it will cost 1x the Fire elements needed to create a Flame, while it will cost Power Mana, Grupt about 1,5x the Fire elements needed to create a Flame. Mana have feelings too, so they will have a bar indicates their feelings towards you and their health. To improve this bar, use the option Gift in the Mana Status. ---------------------- 2. Mana List [UPDATED] ---------------------- This is the list of Mana which I have found throughout the game. It might be though, there will be some updates in the following weeks. After you get the Aroma Material item from the Avenberry, you will be able to metamorph your Mana to become another corresponding Mana by selecting the Transform menu in the Mana Status. You can have TWO Aroma Material (refer to the FAQ section), so you can only metamorph one Mana at a time. If you want to metamorph other Mana, select the Unmetamorphosis menu to return the metamorphed Mana into the first form, then select the other Mana you want to metamorph. Some Mana though, cannot be metamorphed. Here's the list: +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | METAMORPHABLE MANA | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | Fire element cost 1.0x | | Fire Mana Uru | Light element cost 2.5x | | | Power element cost 3.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Power Mana Grupt | Power element cost 1.0x | | (use Aroma Material on Uru) | Fire element cost 1.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | Air element cost 1.0x | | Air Mana Silwest | Water element cost 2.5x | | | Lightning element cost 3.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Lightning Mana Zeilia | Lightning element cost 1.0x | | (use Aroma Material on Silwest) | Air element cost 1.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | Water element cost 1.0x | | Water Mana Nymph | Air element cost 2.5x | | | Spirit element cost 3.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Spirit Mana Flay | Spirit element cost 1.0x | | (use Aroma Material on Nymph) | Water element cost 1.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | Dark element cost 1.0x | | Darkness Mana Plua | Spirit element cost 2.5x (written as 1.5x)| | | Evil element cost 3.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Evil Mana Fanatos | Evil element cost 1.0x | | (use Aroma Material on Plua) | Dark element cost 1.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | Light element cost 1.0x | | Light Mana Eital | Fire element cost 2.0x | | | Holy element cost 3.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Holy Mana Paltia | Holy element cost 1.0x | | (use Aroma Material on Eital) | Light element cost 1.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | AMORPHOUS MANA | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Stone Mana Diemia | Stone element cost 1.0x | | | Power element cost 2.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Wood Mana Popo | Wood element cost 1.0x | | | Water element cost 1.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Life Mana Aion | Life element cost 1.0x | | | Fire element cost 2.5x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | Time element cost 1.0x | | Time Mana Luplus | Light element cost 2.0x | | | Dark element cost 2.0x | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ ********************** B. Mana Synthesis List ********************** ----------------------- 1. What are Mana Items? ----------------------- Mana Items are, well, items created from the elements used by the corresponding Mana. Mana Items though, cannot be created until you have found the formula yet and have the needed amount of certain elements. Mana Items will be on a special treasure chest in purple. Some though, will be given by another alchemist. Mana Items can be used in battle by an alchemist to either attack the enemies or heal the party. All attack Mana Items is NOT considered as physical attacks. -------------------------- 2. What is Mana Synthesis? -------------------------- Mana Synthesis is a process of creating a Mana Item by using certain elements and corresponding Mana. This Mana Synthesis can be executed even in battle. But it's best if you do it outside battle, because, if the corresponding Mana likes you and it's health is above Healthy level, they might give you an extra Mana Items as a bonus with no use of elements at all. To use Mana Synthesis in battle simply select the Mana Synthesis option, and the Mana Item will be automatically used at the moment. To use a Mana Item which has been created before, use the option Mana Items and select the item you wanted. ------------------ 3. Item Synthesis Section ============================================================================== ***************** A. Item Synthesis ***************** -------------------------- 1. What is Item Synthesis? -------------------------- Other than Mana Synthesis, there is also Item Synthesis. Item Synthesis is more like combining, constructing, building, or mixing some items and ingredients to get a totally new item. This new item can be used as healing items in battle or to accomplish some missions in this game. New synthesized items will be available throughout the game if you often talk to the owner. Also, when a synthesized item is labelled as SOLD OUT, if you synthesize it again, then there's a possibility that the corresponding item will be available. New synthesized items available throughout the game progress will be marked with an (E). --------------------------------- 2. Ingredients for Item Synthesis --------------------------------- Ingredients for the Item Synthesis can be found throughout the game progress. Every item you picked up can be as an ingredient to a synthesized item. However, some synthesized items request one, two, three or all or their ingredients in order to make it. For this circumstance, I have marked the requested as [M]. Some items are very rare, so you have to buy it and you can only buy it once. The ingredients also can be found in the stores, in the Regallzine (the currency is Cole), World of Mana (the currency is Pendelook), and the Hidden Village (the currency is Karikari Nuts). You can only have 9 as the maximum number of an item held. Some items have the same species, so they go in order. To see which item is better than the other in the Item Synthesis, just look at the order of items when being asked for ingredients. USUALLY, the last item in order are the item which gave the best review. ----------------- 3. Altering Items ----------------- Altering Items (I name it myself) are using different ingredients to make a different synthesized items but has the same type as the original one. To be able to alter synthesized items, you must have a wide variety of ingredients. When a new synthesized item is available for altered, the shop owner will tell you that "We will get something unique or new" or something like that. For an example, to make Tinglecannon, you'll need Tingleberry. But when you alter Tingleberry to Garigari Nuts, it will turn up as Garigari Liquor. But, the owner will not inform you that you will get Garigari Liquor if you have altered it before. This sucks. To reduce this effect, in this FAQ I have marked the crucial ingredients that makes a synthesized item altered with [!]. Also, there's four item as the maximum number of ingredients. Some synthesized items though, can be altered by simply exchanging the order of ingredients. For that reason, I have made corresponding numbers like this: [1][2] [3][4] Then in the recipe I will write: - (Recipe name) Ingredients: [1] [2] [3] [4] Description: (Item description) (Item effect) Here's the example, when the recipe highlight the Tinglecannon drink: ------------ xxxxxxxxxxxx ------------ [Milk] [Tingleberry] Tinglecannon ------------ [Karikari Liquor] [Honey] xxxxxxxxxxxx ------------ Then it will turn up in my FAQ as: - Tinglecannon Ingredients: Milk Tingleberry [!] Karikari Liquor [M] Honey Description: Very strong cocktail flavored with Tingleberry. (Single Life and Mana heal) It means that: 1) The Karikari Liquor is a must ingredient. 2) Altering Tingleberry may turn up in different result. 3) Tinglecannon is not an item available throughout an event, since there is no (E) icon. 4) You can alter Milk and Honey safely with the same result. 5) Tinglecannon can heal a single person's Life and Mana points. ------------------ 4. Reviewing Items ------------------ Review means the quality of the items. There's more than 30 reviews as far as I'm aware. There might be more than that. Every synthesized items can have up to 5 reviews. The better the review, the better the item will work. Good or bad an item's reviews can be seen by the review window which always comes up after you synthesize an item in the quality bar (so far, I can only reach the +97 level). The better the quality, the better the store review is. Store review represents how many people coming to the shop, which item is the most favourite, the item's quality ACCORDING TO THEM, and the reason why they choose that item. The better the store review, then the better your relation with the shop owner. The better your relation, more items will be able to be synthesized. So far, I got the store review 100% quality for Farewell, Love because of it's Soul Breaking review. ********************** B. Item Synthesis List ********************** ------------------------- 1. (Equipment) ============================================================================== V. FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) ============================================================================== In this section, there will be some general questions that I think you might ask me through email. So please DON'T EMAIL ME ANYTHING ANSWERED HERE! ------------------ A. Gameplay Questions ------------------ Q: Where can I find those ingredients? A: Mostly rare ingredients come from enemies, as for other ingredients, you can obtain them at the field. Feel free to grab them. Q: Some Items in your FAQ don't have the effects or the description explained, why? A: Because it's either I'm too lazy to use it or the item is so rare that I don't want to use it. But I'll complete the effects before this FAQ goes to Final version. As for the description, I simply haven't synhtesize them yet. Q: Some ingredients for the Items don't match the game, why? A: Because in the game it's the first ingredients, while in my FAQ it's the latest and newest ingredients I use. But don't worry, it's just the name that differs, not the type of items. Q: Where can I find Mana Spirits? A: You can find them in mostly, dungeons. Seriously. You'll have your first Wood Mana and Fire Mana automatically, but for others, you'll have to find it by yourself. Just check weird looking blue statue in some dungeons. Q: Where can I extract elements? A: Anywhere, anyplace, but not anything. You have to knock your cane to some things sometimes, to make sure that thing can be extracted. Or, you can choose Element Extraction option in the Items menu. Every items you collect have elements in it (not all weapon type items do). Q: Do some elements have their own level or rarity? A: Yes, they do. The most common elements are Water, Fire, Stone and Wood. Then next, comes the common Air and Lighning. Next, there are Power, Life, Dark, Spirit, and Light in the rare level. Then comes the extra rare Holy and Evil elements and finally the extremely rare Time element (even I just got 25 of this element). Q: Does every Mana Spirits adds one Action Dial button? A: No, not every Mana Spirit does. Silwest and Nymph have the same Action Dial button. But not all metamorphed Spirits have the same Action Dial button. Some though like Zeilia can be either in Destructive Blast or Barrier. (thanks to AVAVT for the info) Q: How many Mana Items are there in this game? A: It's a total of 30 Mana Items in this game. In my FAQ it's just about 28. I missed the Laruba Key and Vamp Fangs. (Thanks to weroth@gmail.com for the info) Q: How do I get Luplus? A: You have to finish the game first. Then a new dungeon will be opened after a few scenes. If you succeed the dungeon, then Arlin and Luplus will join you. Oh yeah, you need to wait until the credits is finished. (Thanks to m_blue_sapphire@yahoo.com and lord_of_ran@yahoo.com) Q: How do I get through the cell in Kavoc Sewers? How do I get treasure chest on top of the house? A: You will get it, eventually, just play the game first. Q: Does Mana Synthesis / Action Dial button affect the Mana status? A: Yes and no. It does affect the Health bar, but not the Affection bar. Q: What is a Growloon? A: Growloon is a purple baloon-like creature that can summons monsters. You have to use either your cane or Fire Blast to destroy them. Destroying them adds the number of Growloons you have defeated and the townspeople will give you reward for eliminating them. Defeating Growloons have some effects to the dungeon you're in, one of them is that you will not encounter a group of the strongest enemies in the dungeon. Q: Is there any best attack items you can use in this game? A: According to me, yes. But the ingredients are hard to get. It's the Rocket Flame. It does Fire-type attack, and hit all of your enemies with a hell amount of damage. -------------------- B. General Questions -------------------- Q: Why does sometimes the voice don't match the text? A: Don't ask me. I'm not the programmer. Q: Why don't you make the walkthrough? A: Well, simply, I don't want to. There's probably somebody out there more suitable to work on that kind of FAQ. Q: Why is the game so short? / Does the game ends when we reach Avenberry? A: Pft, you wish. Avenberry is just the first part. Q: Where do I save the game? A: What the....Just check the blue book in your headquarter or at the camp. ============================================================================== VI.
