Nexus uses the same part meshes from the previous game Armored Core 3: Silent Line but From did a major overhaul on Nexus. When the game was released on March 18 2004, I made a topic in the Nexus message board called "The Discovery Topic". After a few months, I decided to make a FAQ out of all the info from that topic instead of making a new one which has to be kept bumped. This is my first FAQ so bear with me if I did anything wrong. ############## 2) Legal Stuff ############## This guide cannot be viewed on any website except GameFAQs or distributed publicly for profit without my permission. AC: Nexus also have some major changes in the gameplay & graphics department. ---------------------- What's new in the game ---------------------- -Dual Analog controls -Double Lock feature (L-Arm Weapons now have their own lock box) -FCS receives penalty for Double Guns(box size and range). -ECM Counter feature -New parts/weapons -Motion Blur during OB -Hanger Feature (Enables AC to keep small Weapons) -Magazine Reload feature -Tuning Feature = Gives 10 points for each part to upgrade (Head,Core,Arms,Legs,Boosters,Generator,Radiator) -Weapon Colour = Six Weapon Colours(Black, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, White) -Six new Versus maps ---------------------- What's not in the game ---------------------- -OP-INTENSIFY/PLUS/PLOW -Weapon Breaking -Weapon Pick up -Weapons that has the same mesh(eg:GS/54 and GS/72E) -All Howitzers -CROW/Cooling Extensions -Generator Jammers, Dummy Makers, ECM Rockets -Back Ammo Packs -Air Blade Tracking -Head/FCS Blade Tracking -Create an AI -AI Arena -EX Arena ---------------------------- What has changed in the game ---------------------------- -All part/weapon stats -Boosters/OB gives out heat -Radiators drain your Energy Bar during Overheat -You'll lose AP if your Core's Overheat Limit exceeds 100ºC -Weapon Arms have Defense points -Blade Wave available for all Laser Blades -Hard mode FCS lock box version -Inside parts cannot be dropped -PEGASUS(Back Booster) increases speed regardless of the Boosters equipped ######### 4) Extras ######### ------------------- Head Computer Types ------------------- -Crest Heads have Female Computer voices while Mirage Heads have Male Computer voices. -Heads with Special Computer Type will give information on bosses during missions. --------------------- The Calorific Formula --------------------- Add both Booster Heat and Generator's Calorific Value together and multiply it by 2. The total number you have will be the amount of Cooling [(Frame+Normal Cooling)+0.005(Frame+Force Cooling)] you must get for your AC. Formula: Calorific Value(Booster Heat+Generator)÷Cooling[(Frame+Normal Cooling) +0.005(Frame+Force Cooling)]=0.5000 or less This means that the Calorific Value(BH+G) must be 50% or less than the Cooling [(F+NC)+0.005(F+FC)]. This Formula also works on Overboosting. Just Replace the Booster's Heat with the Core's Discharge Heat in the Formula. Getting exactly 0.5000 does not mean you're safe because you will still heat up until 70ºC. There are 4 types of LVLs. R.LVL->0.5025->0.5100=180-240ºC LVL1->0.4800->0.5010=60-70ºC LVL2->0.4360->0.4700=30-50ºC LVL3->less than 0.4320=20-26ºC R.LVL means Risky LVL where your Heat Gauge will go above 180ºC but your Energy Bar will be nearly depleted which is determined by the Generator's Condenser Cap. ----------------- Core AMS function ----------------- The Core AMS only works if there are missiles on your screen. Eg: Play test mode wuth any Crest Core. Look at the Missile MT, then look down at the ground. -------------- Blade Tracking -------------- Since the Head/FCS BLade Tracking has been taken out, From added a new tracking system. The tracking box is stereoscopic like our eyes around 200<->300+ range. If the enemy is within the box, the AC will put the enemy in the middle of the tracking box when you blade. -------------- Hanger Feature -------------- When switching to Hanger Weapons, you cannot move until your AC equips the part. Certain Hanger parts delays you for more than 1 second if you drop your Primary Weapon while on the ground. Solid Weapons with Magazines has two type of Reloads: Normal Reload and Magazine Reload(Mag Reload). For Magazine Weapons, Normal Reload is more faster (AST Rifles has the most effect), but the Mag Reload is slow. The bad thing about Mag Reload is that you have to wait for that weapon to finish reloading before switching to other weapons. If you did not finish the whole magazine and wait for the Mag Reload, you can shoot the same amount inside the magazine again. ----------------------------- Generator Equip Condenser Cap ----------------------------- When you equip a Generator on an AC, the Generator's Emergency Cap will increase by three. To access the other missing missions, you must play that mission first when it appears on the map. There are 3 Free missions where you must fail ceratin missions to play them. Free Mission 4 : Fail Missile Performance Test and play Missile Performance Retest. Free Mission 5 : Fail Protect Mirage Base and Intercept Mirage Bombers. Then play Free Mission 22 : Fail Destroy Kisaragi Force and play the same mission again. ---------- Free Arena ---------- Clear the game once in EVO and load the cleared Save File. The Ranker ACs that is in the Free Arena is determined by the Ranker ACs you destroyed from your previous game. You get Credits if you beat any Ranker AC in the arena. The amount of credits is also determined by the Ranker AC's rank. ---------------- 100% Achievement ---------------- To get 100% Achievement in Revolution Disk, you have to do the following: -Get S Rank for all Missions -Collect all Secret Parts -Collect all Secret Emblems -Collect all Bonus Soundtrack -Collect all Openings and Posters -Defeat Ranker AC Valkyrie in Episode 6 Remake --------------------------- Evolution Disk Secret Parts --------------------------- Certain parts in this game are advance rewards in missions. LF71(Legs)-Defend Fuel Depot IWATO(Extension)-Destroy City Defense Force BABOON(Arms)-Invade Warehouse A88FG(Arms)-Ambush Crest Headquaters WALRUS2(Legs)-Investigate Phenomenon The requirements to get these parts are below. =========== Ruga Canyon =========== Destroy All Enemies (Attack Mirage Search Team) CR-WH98GL(R-Arm) = Go to the wide are that has the 3 MTs and boost up to the middle pipe. You can do this with the starter AC by climbing up the pipe above you at the start of the mission and climb the steps on the wall until you reach to the middle pipe. Destroy OAE Investigation Team (Attack OAE Expidition) CR-WR81RS2(R-Arm) = When the mission starts, turn right and boost/Overboost into the tunnel. Once your outside, boost to the other bridge(the top part) and head right into the dead end. =========== Raven's Ark =========== Defeat or Survive A Period of Time (Training Exercise VS AC) WH03M-FINGER(R-Arm) = Defeat Genobee in less then 55 seconds. Missile Efficency Test (Missile Performance Test) JITEN(L-Arm) = Clear the Mission. You must play this mission first when it appears. New Model MT Efficiency Test (New MT Perfromance Test) CR-WH69H(L-Arm) = Hold on for 3 minutes and let the MTs destory you after that. To make sure you got it, the Operator must say, "The results are much better than we expected." ========== Abax Plain ========== Guard Mirage's Transport Aircraft (Defend Mirage Transport) HOHSHI(Inside) = Destory the crates and grab the part. Support OAE Invasion E0SMG-ROE2(Extension) = Head North-west and destory the 3 hangars. One of them has the part. ============ Bayload City ============ Remove Special Assault Force (Special Forces Removal) CODON(Option Part) = Boost to the highest building located at the center of the map and look North-west. You'll see doors on the walls on each corner in mid-air and one of them has a white light(most door has red lights). Open the door that has the white light and part is inside. Eliminate Crest Exclusive AC (Destroy Crest Exclusive AC) WB31B-PEGASUS(Back Boosters) = Destroy AC Red Star in 50 seconds or less. Rescue Escaped Survivor (Safeguard Escort Route) RAIJIN(L-Arm) = Destory the downed yellow truck. The enemies might destroy it but the part will still be there. Infiltrate Underground Warehouse (Invade Warehouse) A04-BABOON(Arms) = Clear the Mission. Remove City Defense Squad (Destory City Defense Force) IWATO(Extension) = Clear the Mission. Mirage's percentage in the Corporate Trend must be low. *Note*: Due to the amount of Mirage missions in this game, it's better to get this part on your first game. Intercept Mirage Transportation Unit Attack Mirage Transport COWRY(FCS) = Take out all the transports. Eliminate Crest AC CR-WA91MSM(Weapon Arms) = Destroy Genobee in 70 seconds or less. ============ Lectus Plain ============ Attack VIP (Eliminate VIP) CR-WR88RS3(R-Arm) = You have to play the "Attack Supply Convoy" Mission before you play this mission to get the part. Attack Crest's Rebellion Squad (Ambush Crest Headquaters) CR-A88FG(Arms) = Clear the Mission. Defend Fuel Facility (Protect Fuel Depot) LN01-SEAL(Legs) = All fuel tanks must not be destroyed. Navis' percentage in the Corporate Trend must be high. =========== Nucleo Area =========== Destroy Power Generator In Minning Facility (Destory Mine Power Systems) CR-H95EE(Head) = In the room that has the 2nd Generator, drop down from the vent and land on the platform and destroy the boxes on your left. Survivor Search (Search for Survivors) RAKAN(Core) = Clear the Mission. Kisaragi's percentage in the Corporate Trend must be high. Prevent Initiation of Old Generation Weapons (Prevent Weapon Activation) WH04HL-KRSW(L-Arm) = Defeat the boss in 90 seconds or less. ===== Arena ===== H09-SPIDER = Achieve Rank 1. MF05-LIMPET = Achieve Rank 10. CR-O83ES+ = Achieve Rank 20. CR-I79DD = Achieve a rank in the Ranking list. CR-H97XS-EYE = You must have a succesful record in Crest Missions. ---------------------------- Revolution Disk Secret Parts ---------------------------- ========= Episode 1 ========= Reverse Side CR-194DD2(Inside) = None of your allies must be destroyed. ========= Episode 2 ========= Remake CR-WR93RL(R-Arm) = The submarine must not take any damage from the torpedos. Extend Side YMH07-DRAGON(R-Arm) = Clear the Mission. CR-B83TP(Boosters) = Go under the platform and look for the part located on one of the four pipes. ========= Episode 3 ========= Extend Side WH03M-FINGER(L-Arm) = Destroy all the bombs. Reverse Side KANGI(Option Part) = Protect all 4 Gun Emplacecments. ========= Episode 4 ========= Extend Side YWL03LB-TAROS(L-Arm) = Clear the Mission as fast as possible. ANANDA(Radiator) = After entering the second room, Head to the left and enter the next room. Move all the way to the end and you'll see the part on the floor. ========= Episode 5 ========= Remake WH06PL-ORC(L-Arm) = Go to the 2nd Room and head to those bunch of barrels on the upper floor. Destroy the barrels and grab the part. Extend Side WB28R-SIREN4(Back Radar) = The truck must not take any damage. ========= Episode 6 ========= Extend Side YH06-LADYB(Head) = Destroy AC Valkyrie in 90 seconds. Reverse Side FUNI(Extension) = Destory AC Freebird in 30 seconds. ========= Episode 7 ========= Remake CR-YH70S2(Head) = Destory AC Wild Cat in 30 seconds. Extend Side RENGA(Extension) = When you start the mission, look for three black towers on a hill. Go behind the middle tower for the part. Be careful not to cross the red line or else you'll abort the mission. ========= Episode 8 ========= Remake CORAL(Inside) = Head down to the lower floor. Look for two pipes that are connected to the 2 buildings. The part is on top of one of those pipes. Extend Side YA10-LORIS(Arms) = Clear the mission as fast as possible ========= Episode 9 ========= Reverse Side CR-LH79L(Legs) = Protect all 4 power generators. ========== Episode 10 ========== Remake JIREN(Extension) = When you start, turn 180º and boost forward. Look a little to the left to see the part. ========== Episode 11 ========== Extend Side WHO4HL-KRSW(R-Arm) = Your kills must be higher than the other AC by three. Reverse Side KARURA(Back Weapon) = When you start, move backwards and move to the right. You'll see a door on the factory that was on your right. Open the door and grab the part. ========== Episode 12 ========== Remake CR-LRJ84M(Legs) = Do not destory anything in the facility. Extend Side MIROKU(FCS) = Destroy all enemies and collect all the bombs before the time reaches 1:25. ========== Episode 13 ========== Remake NIOH(R-Arm) = Boost your way to the 4th room after using the elevator. From here, look for a vent grill on a wall and destroy it and It'll lead to another path. At the end of the vent, look up and destroy another vent grill, Boost your way up to the vent. Turn 180º to see yet another vent grill. Destroy it and grab the part inside. Extend Side YH08-MANTIS(Head) = Clear the mission. YWH07-DRAGON(L-Arm) = Destroy the MTs in 20 seconds and defeat Stinger in 45 seconds or less. ========== Episode 14 ========== Remake WL-MOONLIGHT(L-Arm) = Clear the mission as fast as possible. Extend Side YLH11-VIXEN(Legs) = Clear the mission. ========== Episode 15 ========== Remake BYAKUE(Extension) = Destroy Devastator in 30 seconds or less. During the game, press Start to pause the game, then hold Select and press Start. ###################### 6) Tricks and Glitches ###################### ------------------------- Fast Laser Blade Recovery ------------------------- Hold down any move button(Walk or Turning) while blading. This will cancel the animation where your AC brings its arm down after blading. Fastest : ELF2 Above Average : WL69LB,ELF,WL79LB2,MOONLIGHT,FUHJIN,RAIJIN Average : WL88LB3,SYURA Slowest : TAROS Also, holding the Forward button increases the AC's blading distance. Holding the Strafe/Turning buttons slightly increase it and the Back button does not increase at all. ------------------------- Back Cannon Reload Cancel ------------------------- Requirements: Biped/RJ/Hover AC, any Back Cannon with long reload time and the REMORA There are two ways to cancel the Back Cannon Reload: 1)After using the Back Cannon, quickly look up(hold this button) and press the Extension button. You will instantly stand up and be able to move freely. 2)After using your Back Cannon, look up(70º-90º) and press the Extension button. You will instantly fly up in the air. These 2 tricks can also cancel out the Railgun's Attack when your charging it. *Note* :You have to wait for the Back Cannon's reload time to finsih before you can switch to any weapon. ------- Sliding ------- Requirements: REMORA(Front Slide), ANGLER(Back Slide) There are also 2 ways to Slide: 1)Press the Extension and Boost button together. Aftereffects: Biped/RJ/Quads: Slide -> Jump. Tanks : Short Distance Slide. Hovers : Long Distance Slide. 2)Press the Extension and Boost together while crouching.(Biped/RJ/Hover) Aftereffects: Biped/RJ: You will slide while standing up. Hover : Same as above but you'll slide furthur. ------------------------------------------- Destroy Devastator without lifting a finger ------------------------------------------- Requirements: A fast AC In Episode 14 Remake, the Devastator launches Multi Missiles after opening it's Missile Hatch behind its shoulders. Stay away from the MT's range and its multi missiles will launched vertically, hitting the hatch. Some missiles will still come at you but they won't attack. After a while, the missiles will kill the Massive MT. ----------------- Opened Up WL88LB3 ----------------- *Import Version only* Requirements: WL88LB3 as Hanger Weapon. If you switch to the WL88LB3(Hanger), it will stay in it's "open" animation even if you're not using it. -------------- Infinite Hover -------------- Requirements: KONGOH, High Surplus Energy AC, E98HB This trick will make your AC stay in the air without using your boosters but you need an AC with high Surplus EN(6500-7000+) to use this trick. Note that your AC will drop very slow. ------------------- Quad Railgun Glitch ------------------- Requirements: Quad AC and a Railgun Charge the Railgun and fly up in the air. The railgun will still fire regardless of the Quad's Back Cannon penalty. ---------------------------------- Rapid Fire Relation Missile Glitch ---------------------------------- Requirements: A FCS/Missile Launcher with 3 locks and above and GAR or E73RM Activate your extensions and switch to your Back Missile when you start. Get a full missile lock and launch. Once the missiles starts launching, quickly tap the Extension Button. Tapping the Extension button will cancel the Relations reload time making the Relations launch missiles continuosly. Instead of launching at the 1st Lock, the missiles will fire at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th Lock. The reason why the GAR and E73RM extensions can only be used is because they have no "open hatch" animation like the other Relations. This trick also works in AC3 and AC3:Silent Line. -------------- No Clip Glitch -------------- Best location: Test mode, Raven's Ark Test Map. You need to use this Frame. There is a way to make another AC but it has to do with the overweight formula used in this game. H84E2 C75U2 A72F LH80S2 B81 F69 G91 R76 - E98HB WB85MPX WB85MPX KRSW KRSW - - Note:Do not tune the AC's weight or else the glitch will not work. First activate your Hover Boosters and jump. Instead of floating, you'll start flying up in the air(This is where the glitch starts). If you don't do anything, your AC will drop down to the ground and fly up again at high speeds but you'll go through the roof, leaving the area. To make half your AC stuck on the ground, off the Hover Boosters after counting 1 second when your AC is about to drop down. It takes practice because if you off it too early, you'll be back on the ground. If you off it too late, you will go through the floor. Once you stuck yourself on the ground, drop the Back Weapons and wait for your Energy Bar to recharge. Activate your Hover Boosters again and move to the end of the map. Press the Boost button and you'll come out of the map. Quickly land somewhere before your Energy Bar is depleted. -------------- Running Glitch -------------- Requirements: Default Type B controls, Biped/RJ/Quad AC, Speedometer Use this frame to try the glitch: H95EE HELIOS A88FG LH95M2 B69 VOLUTE G91 R76 - GAR KARURA KARURA - - When you hold both strafe buttons(R1 and L1), your AC will always move to the left. When you quickly strafe to another direction, your AC will instantly move to the direction you want to go. The trick to run beyond running speed limit is: Run while tapping L1 and R1 button rapidly. If you look at the speedometer, you'll see a slight increase of speed while you're running. You must turn right since you'll be running left all the way. The timing for tapping both L1/R1 Buttons is very crucial. One mistake and you will be back to normal running speed. This glitch can be very painful so be careful when trying this out. --------------------- Inside FCS Box Glitch --------------------- *Import Version only* Requirements:Type B Controls, Bomb Dispensers or Decoy Dispensers If you equip any of the Insides mentioned above, you will get W&S lock box for your L-Arm Weapon(except Blades/Hand Rockets/Flamethrower/Hand Missile) regardless of the Weapon Lock your L-Arm Weapon have if you swtich to insides. The FCS part determines the size of the W&S lock box. --------------------------- Flamethrower FCS Box Glitch --------------------------- *Import Version only* Requirements:Flamethrower on either arm L-Arm Flamethrowers gives W&S type lock box to R-Arm(except Hand Rockets/Parry Blades) and Back Weapons(except Rockets, Dual Orbits). R-Arm Flamethrowers gives W&S type lock box to L-Arm Weapons(except Blades/Hand Rockets/Flamethrower/Hand Missile). The FCS part determines the size of the W&S lock box. ------------------ Parry Blade Glitch ------------------ Requirements:Parry Blade, L-Arm Hanger Weapon Best Location for testing: Test mode Equip any L-Arm Hanger Weapon(except Laser Blades) and a Parry Blade. Charge the Parry Blade and quickly drop your L-Arm Weapon the moment you hear the "crack" sound. This will cause your right arm to go back to it's normal position but the Blade's spike is still outside. If you touch your opponent with the spike, you will deal instant 9999 damage in a few seceonds along with 9999ºC heat. This glitch needs precise timing because if you drop your weapon too early, the spike will still be outside but you cannot deal damage to anyone and you can't switch nor drop the Parry Blade. If you do it too late, you can't do it again since you already switch to your Hanger Weapon. Using this glitch will make your AC do weird things: 1)Your Core and Right Arm will not move while Running/Boosting/Overboosting. 2)You cannot switch to any Back Weapon. 3)You cannot drop the Parry Blade. 4)Your AC will still stand when you have 0 AP. 5)You cannot use Laser Blades Using light Hanger Cores on Biped Legs will make your AC's Core tilt to the right and your R-Arm will be 90º straight.
