First Things First ============================================================================= Before we jump into things, I'd like to tell you a little about this FAQ. This FAQ is for a video game called 'Amplitude' for the Playstation 2. Please note that this FAQ does not tell you about how to play Amplitude and how achieve a better score. It is providing information for songs in the game. If you happen to notice any errors (spelling, grammar, etc.) you can e-mail me and tell me about what's wrong. If something in my FAQ is stated, please to NOT e-mail me and ask me about it. Trust me, it can get very irritating. Anyway, thanks to Harmonix for making a sweet game, and I hope you all enjoy it, too! ============================================================================= II. SONG: Boom! (The Crystal Method Remix) GENRE: Electro Rap Rock BPM: 104 BPM PRODUCERS: Atlanta Records WEBSITE: www.payableondeath.com DIFFICULTY: 1/10 HARDEST TRACK: First Drum / Vocals This song, being the very first you will encounter, is a fairly easy song. Also, the beats aren't very close together, giving you a smooth, easy rhythm. The vocals might give you the most trouble in some parts because it isn't in rhythm with all the other tracks. The guitar may also prove to be a threat for "n00bz" but not for "hardcore FreQz"... Song 02 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Garbage SONG: Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go!) GENRE: Electronic Rock BPM: 116 BPM PRODUCERS: Interscope Records WEBSITE: www.garbage.com DIFFICULTY: 1/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum / Bass This song also is very easy, except for one track. At one point in the song, the last drum track does a pattern like this: [L M R M L M R] and so on. The vocals also seem to be very "off" with what she's actually saying. Especially at the end when two different lines are being sung. All in all, this song is cake, so slice it and get on with life. Song 03 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Quarashi SONG: Baseline GENRE: Rap Rock BPM: 98 BPM PRODUCERS: Columbia Records WEBSITE: www.quarashi.net DIFFICULTY: 2/10 HARDEST TRACK: First Drum Quarashi's song is harder than the other level one songs, but it is still pretty easy. At one time, the guitar track does the [L M R M L M R] pattern with short pauses which can throw you off. Also, the first Drum Track in the song possesses more difficulty than the previous two songs. It has steady beats, and then it throws in a double, and every other time, a triple tap on the left side [LLL]. You have been warned! But don't worry, it's still easy. Song 04 - Boss Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Chris Child with Melissa R. Kaplan SONG: Shades Of Blue GENRE: Trance BPM: 136 BPM PRODUCERS: Harmonix FunkyBeatz WEBSITE: www.chrischild.com DIFFICULTY: 3/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum / First Synth A little harder than Baseline but not my much. This is probably one of the highest scoring tracks in the game. People have reached 8000+ on it. The Synth tracks can get complicated at times and the drum track will switch up during the middle of the song. It will throw in a [LMR LMR RML LMR] to help mess you up, but it's nothing you shouldn't be able to handle. Song 05 - Bonus Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Logan 7 SONG: Uptown Saturday Night GENRE: Funky Beats BPM: 137 BPM PRODUCERS: Palm Pictures, LCC WEBSITE: N/A DIFFICULTY: 2/10 UNLOCK AT: 5,300 Points HARDEST TRACK: Both Drum Tracks This Logan 7 guy is very misterious. There is not news, pics, or even a cheap website on him! But anyway, back to the song. The Drum Tracks will change every ten seconds it seams like. But thats about it. Some of the FX tracks can be funny with little voice impressions, but don't worry, they are real easy to play... Larry, it feels like a gun! BEAT FACTORY - Level 2 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Song 01 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Run-DMC SONG: King Of Rock (X-Ecutioners Remix) GENRE: Hip Hop BPM: 98 BPM PRODUCERS: Arista Records WEBSITE: www.aristarec.com/aristaweb/rundmc DIFFICULTY: 3/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum Boosh! Okay, easy song also, but the Vocals is probably the hardest, ya know, since they're rappin' and all. Anyway, if you get and Auto-Catcher, HANG ON TO IT! This song seems really hard to make it from one side to the other, so if you miss a beat, use your Auto-Catcher to keep up your multi- plier! The guitar sometimes meses me up. [L R L R L R M R M R]. That's about all you should have trouble with, though. Song 02 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: The Baldwin Brothers SONG: Urban Tumbleweed GENRE: Hip Hop BPM: 105 BPM PRODUCERS: TVT Records WEBSITE: www.baldwinstyle.com DIFFICULTY: 4/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum / Synth The second Drum Track goes something like this: [L M RR M RR L RRR M L M]. Something along those lines. Anyways, the double taps are hard, at least for me. The synth track gets confusing every two bars or so, with the little RM RM RM going pretty fast, so keep a keen eye out for that. The vocals, like other songs, seem to not match up with his voice, so be prepared! Song 03 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Weezer SONG: Dope Nose GENRE: Rock BPM: 128 BPM PRODUCERS: Geffen Records WEBSITE: www.weezer.com DIFFICULTY: 3/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum The bass tracks and the guitar tracks are not perfectly lined up, like this: [M M M L M M].(hardcore Freqs: remember Frequency by Fear Factory?) But this song is too slow to even matter. The drum tracks may complicate during the little transitions from Chorus to Verse to Bridge and so on. But hey, finally a song I like! :) Oh Oo Oh Oo Oh this Dope Nose! Song 04 - Boss Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: David Bowie SONG: Everyone Says 'Hi' (Metro Remix) GENRE: House BPM: 128 BPM PRODUCERS: Columbia Records WEBSITE: www.davidbowie.com DIFFICULTY: 3/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum / Synth Wow! A wierd song, but really easy (for Insane) until you reach one of those drum tracks. They have CRAZY patterns with double taps. But the rest of every- thing else is so easy it's really kind of funny. Especially the vocals at the end, "...and the big fat dog..." I've always found that funny...heh... Song 05 - Bonus Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Freezepop SONG: Super-Sprøde GENRE: Synthpop BPM: 150 BPM PRODUCERS: N/A WEBSITE: www.freezepop.net DIFFICULTY: 4/10 UNLOCK AT: 5,300 Points HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum / Second Synth This song sounds alot like the song they did for Frequency (Science Genius Girl), but maybe it's just me. Anayways this song has alot of those back and forth things: [L M L M R M R M] and so on. It's sorta fast, too, so keeping up your multiplier can become a difficult task. The drum tracks also have many double-taps (which is what I'm bad at... CURSE YOU FREEZEPOP!!!!!). Since the vocals don't come in when you're transfering (if you don't miss a bar), it can kill you out there. METACLOUDS - Level 3 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Song 01 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Pink SONG: Respect GENRE: Pop BPM: 131 BPM PRODUCERS: Arista Records WEBSITE: www.pinkspage.com DIFFICULTY: 4/10 HARDEST TRACK: First Drum Ok the first drum track is: [R L R M L R M L] and then it has a short pause to mess you up... then continues. The bass track is: [L M M R L MM R] and it is very off timing to trip you the hell up. The vocals sometimes seem to no match up with Pink's actually words, but maybe that's just me. This is the first of the songs that may actually mess you up! But you've gotten this far, and trust me - this song won't be the one to hold you up. ALSO: watch out becuase at one point, the song speeds up and slows down fast and it WILL mess you up!!! Song 02 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Papa Roach SONG: M-80 (Explosice Energy Movement) GENRE: Rock BPM: 173 BPM PRODUCERS: Dreamworks Records WEBSITE: www.paparoach.com DIFFICULTY: 5/10 HARDEST TRACK: Bass One of the fastest songs in the game with the first track (drum) being one of the back and forth patterns: [L M L M L M] which I also hate! BAH! Also, the guitars, bass included, at times go: [MMMMMMMMLLLLLLLLRRRRRRRR], which, you guessed, I ALSO HATE! Even though this song is fast and has two track patterns I hate most, it still is not hard, but it is difficult to score high on it... at least for me. (Think the fast guitar patterns are hard for this 173 BPM song? Wait until blink-182! 193 BPM...) Song 03 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Mekon with Roxanne Shante SONG: What's Going On? GENRE: Funky Beats BPM: 123 BPM PRODUCERS: Wall Of Sound WEBSITE: www.wallsofsound.com DIFFICULTY: 5/10 HARDEST TRACK: Both Drums Okay, the first drum track and the vocals during the chorus are the two of the hardest tracks in this song. The rest, except maybe the synth at times, should be easy. The bass is so easy it's almost funny. I think I'll laugh. HAHAHAHA!! So don't worry... although I'd recommend plugging your ears while you're doing the vocal track... I can't stand her voice! AHHHH!!! Did you know that Mekon was a guy? His picture looks very 'feminine', heh. Song 04 - Boss Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Herbie Hancock with Mixmaster Mike, DXT, Rob Swift, DJ Q*Bert, Babu, Faust, and Shortee SONG: Rockit (2.002 Remix) GENRE: Old Skool BPM: 113 BPM PRODUCERS: Transparent Music WEBSITE: www.herbiehancock.com DIFFICULTY: 6/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum Okay, one guy in a song featuring SEVEN people - wow! Those of you familiar with Frequency should recognize the FX track from Q*Bert. It has alot of that [L M R M M R L L R] kind of stuff. The drum track is super hard for this song, too. Something like: [L M RRR L RR M R LLL]. Crazyness! This song is not so much hard to beat, as it is to actually get a score worth talking about. This is one of the only song I haven't gotten four bars. I hate Herbie... Song 05 - Bonus Song --------------------------------------- ARTIST: The Production Club SONG: Rockstar GENRE: Rocktronica BPM: 110 BPM PRODUCERS: Lunch Records WEBSITE: www.lunchrecords.com DIFFICULTY: 3/10 UNLOCK AT: 6,100 Points HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum / Synth Whoa, baby. Talk about a step down from the rest. I hate this song, I really do. The onlt real hard track is the Synth, and maybe that bass or drum track, but compared to the other four songs in this level - PAH! This song gave me alot of trouble with transitions and getting a high score, so keep those Auto- Catchers and Freestylers handy! (See the Misc. Section) ELEKTRO KORE - Level 4 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Song 01 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: DJ HMX and Plural SONG: Cool Baby GENRE: House BPM: 128 BPM PRODUCERS: Harmonix FunkyBeatz WEBSITE: www.harmonixmusic.com DIFFICULTY: 5/10 HARDEST TRACK: First Synth Oh my, have you seen this chick's nose ring? Ehh! Well, the song doesn't sound half bad... it's all bad. Anyways the first drum track is the same as the DJ HMX song in Frequency, and the bass sounds AWFULLY similar, but the Synths are a big surprise. [L MR L MR L R L MR] - but it's not too hard. The second one is all over the place, but still controllable. The hardest part of this song is keeping up that damn multiplier... YEESH! Think we could get a break, eh? Nevertheless, some agree that this song is one of the best scoring in the game next to Chris Child. I'd disagree, but that's just me speaking. Song 02 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: BT with Wildchild SONG: Kimosabe GENRE: Electro-Rap BPM: 126 BPM PRODUCERS: Embrace The Future WEBSITE: www.btmusic.com DIFFICULTY: 6/10 HARDEST TRACK: Bass / Vocals Another good BT track! This song has ALOT of those back and forth, all the way tracks: [LMRMLRML] and the vocals: [LMRMLM RML] with minor pauses to throw you way off. If you can do the bass track, then the rest of the song will be cake, because the bass has got to be the hardest, worth 29 points. The drum track on the far end may stir up some havoc, as well as the vocals. When you reach the chorus ("...what we came to do..."), just about EVERY TRACK gets easy, so it's like your "lifeline". I still can't help but wonder how that guy says all those words SO fast... Whew! Song 03 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Manchild SONG: Nitro Narcosis GENRE: Breaks BPM: 135 BPM PRODUCERS: N/A WEBSITE: www.manchild.co.uk DIFFICULTY: 4/10 HARDEST TRACK: Synth Nothing too hard, except that Synth track at times. I can even handle that, but for some reason, the bass track messes me up - because of those double tap patterns. [LL M L LL M L LL M] but it's still enough to handle. Try to get as many Score Doublers because this song seen to score pretty low. It's strange also, becuase at certain points, the vocal track sounds like wind, not a man singing... eh, who cares? Song 04 - Boss Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Slipknot SONG: I Am Hated GENRE: Metal BPM: 126 BPM PRODUCERS: Roadrunner Records WEBSITE: www.slipknot1.com DIFFICULTY: 7/10 HARDEST TRACK: First Drum One of my two favorite songs in the game! The first drum track is fast, and it is always changing. Hardest track in the song. The drums get really tough during the part when he starts to scream, "I AM HATED!" with many double taps and [RMRMRMRM] patterns thrown in there. The bass is steady and easy during the verses but in the chorus, it rockets up to a 19 or 20 pointer. The first guitar track is SO hard during the verses - I may have gotten it once. It is: [RR MM LL MM L M R M] or something like that. It's not too hard in the chorus though, The second guitar is simple until the "I AM HATED!" part. It switches to a [R M R M R M L M R M] pattern. The second drum track is similar to the first, and the vocals aren't too bad. I'd like to end by saying: "CAUTION n00bz! ph33r SLIPKNOT!!!" (And by the way, this song takes 4000 points to get Three Bars, just to let you know). Song 05 - Bonus Song --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Game Boyz SONG: Push GENRE: Electronic Rock BPM: 122 BPM PRODUCERS: Jack's Hoose Music WEBSITE: www.jackshoosemusic.com DIFFICULTY: 5/10 UNLOCK AT: 6,800 Points HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum Once you've gotten this far, don't worry - but once you play this song, make sure you TRY TO GET POINTS because it is seemingly hard to score big. There is a track with the [L M R M L M R M] which can make you whiff after doing it for so long. The bass track is easy, but can be a beat short and cause you to trip and mess up. The drums are no harder than in any other song. The vocals are a sinch, except at one spot where the guy sings lots of words... not quite BT, though... Just remember - POINTS, baby, POINTS! BLASTLANDS - Level 5 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Song 01 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Blink-182 SONG: The Rock Show GENRE: Pop-Punk BPM: 193 BPM PRODUCERS: MCA Records WEBSITE: www.blink182.com DIFFICULTY: 7/10 HARDEST TRACK: Bass The fastest track in Frequecy and Amplitude togther! Throughout at least 80% of the song, all of the guitar tracks, and bass, are going [LLLLLLLLMMMMMMMM RRRRRRRR] over and over. Madness. One of the guitars takes a minor pause, like this: [L LLLLLL M MMMMMM] so watch for that. In the chorus, the first guitar will give a little [RRRR M L RRRR M L] which can mess you up big time. The vocals will be your "break" in this song, being very simple. The bass gets really hard during the part when he goes "...black and white picture of her on my wall..." by having a [LLLLLLMMLLRRRRRRRRRRMMLLLL] pattern. Many deem this song the hardest in the game, but I've played over 30 people at this online and NEVER LOST! (But that all changes in Single Player mode). Song 02 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Dieselboy SONG: Sub Culture (Dieselboy + Kaos Rock Remix) GENRE: Drum 'n' Bass BPM: 174 BPM PRODUCERS: HUMAN WEBSITE: www.djdieselboy.com DIFFICULTY: 8/10 HARDEST TRACK: Both Drums Glory, glory I must say I officially "suck this track up". I finished the song with my health in the "Danger!!!" zone. The far drum track has a wierd note placement with a fast double-tap. The vocals and the guitar are the only semi- easy tracks, still proving to fetch-off even the best of FreQs here. All I can really say is DO NOT PLAY THIS IN PUBLIC, unless you wish to be HUMILIATED. So you got all that? Yeesh. Song 03 --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Akrobatik vs. Symbion Project SONG: Out The Box GENRE: Funky Beats BPM: 132 BPM PRODUCERS: Harmonix FunkyBeatz WEBSITE: www.symbionproject.com DIFFICULTY: 6/10 HARDEST TRACK: First Synth Oh my gosh, an easy song... in Level 5? Well, this song is pretty easy for where they've placed it in the line-up but the synth pattern goes wacky a few times, with the [L M R M R L M] type patters. They seem to be off-beat a bit, as well. The easiest track here, like most is the vocals, except when Big Ak says, "...comin' out the b-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-x..." where the track slips off into one of those [RMRMRMRMRM] things. Blech. Compared to Ak's other song, in the game Frequency, this one isn't half bad. Seriously. Also, beware of the one synth track with a [LL M RR M R LL] pattern! AHHHHH! (Still, not hard). Song 04 - Boss Track --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Symbion Project SONG: Synthesized GENRE: Drum 'n' Bass BPM: 180 BPM PRODUCERS: Harmonix FunkyBeatz WEBSITE: www.symbionproject.com DIFFICULTY: 7/10 HARDEST TRACK: Second Drum For being called "Synthesized" the Synth track sure do lay off - ALOT. All of the parts to the second drum track are hard. It goes: [ML R M ML R M R] or it sort of resembles that. The vocals are easy, as are the synth tracks - just a little bit harder, but not by far. *TIP* Auto-Chatch the Drum Track(s) or you will die of a GAME OVER! *END OF TIP* Another sucky thing is that you start on the Bass track. What the hell? Getting to 8x might not be so easy... but who cares! *I WANT TO BE SYNTHESIZED* ...ahem, excuse me... got a little brain- washed for a second. Song 05 - Bonus Song --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Komputer Kontroller SONG: Robot Rockerz GENRE: Techno BPM: 150 BPM PRODUCERS: Harmonix FunkyBeatz WEBSITE: www.harmonixmusic.com DIFFICULTY: 10/10 UNLOCK AT: 6,200 Points HARDEST TRACK: Both Drums / Bass / First Synth My first Game Over! RIGHT HERE! If you want to be exact, it was my first TEN game overs, but who's counting? The drum tracks, both of 'em, hit you with a ton of the fast back and forth patterns along with a double tap. The bass in this song is impossible - no one has done it. Well, maybe a few. It goes like this: [LMLMLMLRLRLRLR] over, and over, and over... The first Synth track also has many double-taps and the second one is an off-times version of the [LMR] patters. Something like: [L MRL MRL MR L MR]... you get the point I'm trying to make don't you? Don't even try this song unless you are a true "hardcore" FreQ, or you are using some sort of cheating device (I highly recommend using Code Breaker, for fast and fun cheating!) But seriously, this track 0wnZ me. It will 0wn you. And your sister. And your mom. Hell, the WORLD. Stay AWAY, unless you wish to be bashed to the ground in an array of wild note patterns and incredible techno beatz! RUN FOR IT! Robotkid has once again unleased his army of robots and their out to destroy you!! Song... 06? Yup! - Secret Track! --------------------------------------- ARTIST: Cosmonaut Zero SONG: Spaztik GENRE: Drum 'n' Bass BPM: 97 BPM PRODUCERS: Harmonix FunkyBeatz WEBSITE: www.symbionproject.com DIFFICULTY: 9/10 HARDEST TRACK: (The 40 Point) First Drum Many believe this is the hardest track, but it's not... unless you were only talking about the 35 to 40 point drum track, then yea, it's pretty freakin' hard. But otherwise, because of the low, 97 BPM, the song isn't as hard as the "Robot Rockerz" track. If you are really good, and you can capture slow, 40 point tracks with a Score Doubler and an 8x Multi, you can nag 640 points, but I highly doubt you can do it. Ya know what? This song sounds kind of "fruity" in a science-genius-ice-cream-truck-freezepop sort of way... maybe it's just me. So, get ready, Mr. FreQ... can you handle the highly adored 40-pointer??? Probably not, but being the LAST sentence for the LAST song of this section of my FAQ, I needed to say something inspirational and touching, no? ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ What??? No SUPER SECRET track??!?!? What the hell? Don't whine, don't cry, let it go. It hasn't been found yet, and it will never be found becuase it is NON EXISTENT. So stop asking for it. Stop. It just is not here. Okay? I'm glad that's cleared up. ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ ============================================================================= V. Miscellaneous Stuff ============================================================================= • Save your Auto-Catchers for when you miss a track. When you miss one, hurry and Auto-Catch it, then move to a new one to save your multiplier. • Read the above note. The same thing can be done with a Freestyler power-up. • If you have a Score Doubler, save it until you see a Freestyler. If you see one, use the Doubler and capture the Freestyler. Hurry and use it! If you're playing Insane mode and have a 8x Multi, it will grant you 160 points every bar of scratching you do. • Save Slo-Mo's for a REALLY hard track when you're multi is high, to snag it and get all the extra points. • The Crippler is easy to avoid in Amplitude. The track you are on starts to look like waves at the ocean, but the notes can be easily seen. Just make sure you've lined up your timing right and everything. • HOW TO ANNOY PEOPLE: When online, go behind someone doing a track (preffer- ably a hard one). Then wait until they catch almost all of it and either use the Bumper to bump 'em or the Auto-Catcher... I love it. • Online, people will have symbols by their FreQ... A Circle means they have not beaten any mode with this FreQ. Diamond, they've done only Mellow. With a Triangle, Normal. A Cross, Brutal. And a Star, Insane! • If you like attention and you've beaten Insane, wear your "Halo" item when you go online to show off. ;) • A very big issue of Amplitude is the "score bars" when you beat a song. The score bare indicates how well you did. +-+ +-+ +-+ ONE BAR indicates that you did poorly. Basically, you should |#| | | | | try again. Unless you do well on the rest of the songs in that |#| | | | | stage, the Bonus Track may be out of reach unless that score +-+ +-+ +-+ gets "upped" a little bit. +-+ +-+ +-+ TWO BARS tells you that your score wasn't terrible, but it was |#| |#| | | not that great, either. You have a change at the Bonus Song if |#| |#| | | you don't bomb any of your scores for that stage. You should +-+ +-+ +-+ still try for a better score. This won't earn braggin' rights. +-+ +-+ +-+ THREE BARS means you've done well. Very well. You have a good |#| |#| |#| chance that you will unlock the Bonus Song. Just because you |#| |#| |#| have all three bars shown doesn't mean it's the best you can +-+ +-+ +-+ do. Nope, there's one more... +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ FOUR BARS means you've done awesome. Great job. Is there |#| |#| |#| |#| more to the mysterious "Four Bar Score"? Maybe, but that's |#| |#| |#| |#| up to you to find out. +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ • Tracks have the same color for a certain instrument. Get to know them so you know which tracks to do, and not to do, and whatever. RED TRACK - Drums BLUE TRACK - Bass Guitar ORANGE TRACK - Guitar YELLOW TRACK - Synthesizer GREEN TRACK - Vocals PURPLE TRACK - Sound FX • When you get a Score Doubler, wait as long as possible on a track before you actually fire it so it will last longer! • If you don't miss any tracks all the way from the left to right, you'll have one track length to get to the other side... so DON'T MISS!!! • Don't pay too much attention to the sound while you're playing, for some of the sounds seem to not match up. • One of the hardest things to do is get used to the different tempos (BPM's). It's really hard to play blink-182 and then go to Quarashi, so you need to practice and practice and get used to swithing from one to another. • If I think of more stuff, I'll add it. ============================================================================= VII. My Amplitude Review ============================================================================= Okay, if I've made a FAQ, chances are I've also made a review, right? Well, I have and GameFAQs® is hosting it. The website URL is: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/review/R50920.html if you wanted to see the "real thing". If you're internet is SLOW, you can just look below, but it may be harder to read. ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ Objective Of The Game: What you do in Amplitude is guide a futuristic space ship across different tracks. Each track represents an instrument for a song. On each track are blue notes; one one the left, middle, and right. Your space ship has three green circles that are respective to the notes. When your green circle lines up with a note, you must press a certain button. If done correctly, a sound of that instrument will be played. Concept: 8/10 What the people at Harmonix were trying to do was make a game which intensifies your reflexes while you get to make music from some new and old artists. They did a great job, except for the fact that some people might dislike their music choice. I liked it quite a bit, but who's to say that everyone else will? Besides this, I think this game is really put together well. Sound: 10/10 A game based on hearing and playing music, the sound must be perfect, and it is. The only minor peeve is that it sounds weird when you have an instrument going and it stops all of a sudden, but that's not enough to drag down the 10 because when they are together, the songs are sweet. Plus, you get to make your own re-mixes! Graphics: 9/10 Of course, graphics aren't the main concern for this game, but they do matter, and this game has good effects. You interact with things often. You make an avatar (called ''Freq'') who plays whatever instrument you are catching. The backgrounds move with your beats. The lyrics even show up on stages for the chorus. Though these aren't the best, the graphics are great compared to Amplitude's pre-game, Frequency. Control: 10/10 You can beat the game with 6 buttons. L1, R1, R2, Start. Left, and Right. It's a really easy game to control, you just need to have good hand-eye coordination and reflexes. You use the shoulder buttons to 'capture' notes on a track, then use the D-Pad to switch from instrument to instrument looking to play new music. Very simplistic - but that's not a bad thing. Not bad at all. Replay Value: 7/10 Yes, you can make your own re-mixes and you can try the four different difficulty levels for each of the 25+ songs, but it does get kind of old after a while. Same songs, same re-mixes, same track, same notes... This may be a game where you'd need to be easily amused to be able to play for a long time. Overall: 9/10 This game gets a 9/10 for me, but someone else may give it a 3/10. This game really depends on how much you like to press buttons - fast, and how much you enjoy listening to music. I love both, so I rate this game good and find it highly addicting. If you like music and have great reflexes, Amplitude is the game for you! ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ============================================================================= VII.
