Also note that I will not respond to any requests for any codes apart from the ones mentioned in this guide. I do not want to be asked about where you can find all the necessary system accessories/devices to hack this game, nor do I want any inquisitions about material that is irrelevant to this guide. If you are having trouble understanding a particular section of the walkthrough and have a valid question, that is fine, but I do not want to be pestered for additional support on how to play the Legend of Dragoon. Also, if any material in this guide is incorrect, then please let me know so that I can make the proper corrections. However, if anyone simply wants to send me their thanks and compliments regarding my guide, I will be more than happy to receive them, as you will make my day. Be sure to provide an appropriate title as well so that I don't overlook your e-mail as junkmail and delete it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iv - Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my third official walkthrough, and it deals with getting the most out of two special characters in LoD: Shana and Lavitz. I love hacking in characters we're not supposed to have, as it just adds so much more replay value. What's so great about this whole thing, is that LoD accepts these two hacked characters so well! However, certain measures must be touched upon to ensure that no problems arise, which of course, can all be found in this guide. Now please, enjoy the walkthrough! -=============================================================================- CHAPTER TWO: GAMESHARK CODES -=============================================================================- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i - System Requirements ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In order to gain access to Shana and Lavitz all throughout the game, you must meet certain conditions: REQUIREMENTS ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` * Gameshark CDX. * A PS One (the newer compact model), OR a PlayStation 2. * The Legend of Dragoon (NTSC). ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` While a Gameshark Pro (for the older PlayStations) will work, you can't save or load your game with one since LoD uses Slot 1 exclusively for the memory card. And as you may know, the GS Pro occupies Slot 1, unfortunately. So the best you can do with one is start a New Game every time, ;_; ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ii - Master Codes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll need either one code or the other, depending on your version of the game (and/or GS?), in order for all the other codes in this guide to work. -= ENABLE CODE A =- ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` D01BF6F4 023A 801BF6F6 1000 D00FC08C 023A 800FC08E 1000 ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` -= ENABLE CODE B =- ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` D01BF664 FF52 801BF66E 1000 D00FBFFC FF52 800FC006 1000 ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iii - Hacking Lavitz And Shana Into The Active Party ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following codes set the respective character into the party. Just load the game with them on: -= CHARACTER IN-PARTY CODES =- ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` 300BAF24 0003 ~ Lavitz 300BAF50 0003 ~ Shana ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` *THE FOLLOWING NOTES ARE VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THROUGH THEM: NOTE 1: Don't ever bring both [Lavitz + Albert], or [Shana + Miranda] into the ¯¯¯¯¯¯ into the same battle together, or else the game will freeze as it attempts to load. (The alter-egos just don't work together, unfortunately.) NOTE 2: Since Shana has no additions, there will never be any problems hacking ¯¯¯¯¯¯ her back in to the active party. However, when you do so with Lavitz occasionally, the statistics for his Additions (including other minor things) will be glitched. In order to remedy this, just take him into a couple of battles and the game's natural coding will fix him back to normal. (*Only save the game once he's back to normal, or else you risk file corruption.) NOTE 3: Shana/Lavitz will remain in the game until the game removes them, that ¯¯¯¯¯¯ is, whenever the party is split up in accordance to the story's progression. Simply hack them back in again and fix Lavitz if necessary. NOTE 4: Hacking these characters in after the game removes them from your party ¯¯¯¯¯¯ will return them to you exactly as they were the last time you had them. So for instance, when Lavitz is about to be "permanently" removed for the first time, I advise equiping him with valuable items, like with an Amulet or some Bandit Shoes. That way, when Albert joins your party he'll come with the same set of equipment you had on Lavitz. Now when you shark Lavitz back in, you'll have the second set of the same equipment! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iv - Codes For Modifying Dragoon Spirit Combinations ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section is just an added bonus. Has anyone ever wanted to have Dart use his old Red-Eyed Dragoon Spirit again instead of the Divine Dragoon Spirit at the end of the game? Well here's what you've been looking for! The following code modifies which combination of Dragoon Spirits you currently have; just substitute the desired xx digit for the corresponding combination. -= DRAGOON SPIRITS MODIFIER CODE =- -=============================================================================- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i - Pros ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section points out benefits of hacking Shana and Lavitz into the game: * Lavitz's Additions are slower and thus, easier to use than Albert's. * You can get a duplicate set of equipment once from each character after they're removed for the first time. * Both can be brought anywhere in the game; they are glitch-free in battles, they work on the World Map, in dungeons, towns, shops, menu screens, and will load up every time without fail. * Shana has no stallpoints whatsoever. * Both characters can be used against all major bosses, including Faust and Melbu Frahma. * They are just plain cooler than their counterparts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ii - Cons ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section sheds light on the downside of hacking Shana and Lavitz into the game: * Kongol and Miranda's portraits get pushed off past the right edge of the screen in shop menus, and in your Use Item screen. (Harmless) * Lavitz's character is slightly glitched when hacked back into the game occasionally, specifically with his Additions' counts and levels. (Just fight two battles to return him to normal.) * Lavitz can't be used with Albert, and Shana can't be used with Miranada. (Oh well, at least now you can't really argue that this whole thing is cheating.) * Lavitz has a stallpoint. -=============================================================================- CHAPTER FOUR: COMBAT SKILLS -=============================================================================- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i - Additions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately, Shana doesn't have any Additions, so Lavitz has this section all to himself.
