If you're not I am not responsible for any inaccuracies due to this. In order to understand this walkthrough to its fullest, I recommend that you study the Rascal manual a little bit. That way you get to know the terms I'm mentioning as I walk you through the game. Because, after all, if you don't know what I'm talking about how can you complete the level? :) ############################################################################### 2.00 | THE STORY ############################################################################### Chronon, the Evil Time Overlord, is meddling with the past. Having kidnapped Professor Casper Clockwise, scientific adviser to N.A.T.O., Chronon has stolen his plans for a time-travelling vessel. The E.T.T.A.S. machine (Exploration Through Time And Space) will give Chronon powers that will set him up among the Gods. However, the Professor's teenage son, better known as Rascal, has other ideas. He's had his hi-NRG, Isotonic Nutri-Vibe drink, so he's fired up to take on Chronon's henchmen, pistol-packing gun-slingers, cut-throat pirates, ferocious guard-dogs and fire-breathing metal dragons to rescue his father and his planet - and get his homework in on time!!! Armed only with the Professor's latest invention, the Bubble Gun, Rascal time travels through adventure after adventure including the Wild West, the land of the Aztecs and the Corridors of Time. But Chronon wants rid of his arch-enemy, and be it in the past, present or future, well.., time is ticking for Rascal... ############################################################################### 3.00 | CHARACTERS ############################################################################### Rascal Son to Professor Clockwise, Rascal is your typical kid. He likes to have fun. But your father has been kidnapped by Chronon. It's Rascal duty to deat Chronon, retrieve the the pieces to the Time Clock and weaken Chronon's strength in time and space. Rebuild the clock piece to free your father. Chronon As an evil ruler Chronon is bent on taking over the space and time realms and becoming ruler of everything. He has his minions scattered about to do his dirty work and prevent Rascal from ever getting his father back. Don't be fooled, however, Chronon won't back down from some pesky kid! Professor Jasper Clockwise A genius scientist, Professor Clockwise has been kidnapped by Chronon. It is believed that Clockwise has some affiliation with the pieces in some what. Either he used to have the pieces to the Time Clock or he knows that Chronon can harness their power and take over. Either way, Chronon needs to be destroyed in order for Professor Clockwise to make a safe return. ############################################################################### 4.00 | GETTING STARTED ############################################################################### ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.10 | Controls ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (From manual) SQUARE - Fire X - Jump (the press X again, while in mid-air to perform a mighty Slam Attack) LEFT - Turn Left / Rotate (if stationary) RIGHT - Turn Right / Rotate (if stationary) UP - Move Forwards DOWN - Move Backwards R1 - Turn the on-screen icon display ON or OFF L1 - Skid stop L2 - (press and hold) Lower camera view R2 - (press and hold) Change camera angle START - Pause and access the In-Game Menu SELECT - Access Map Screen The circle and triangle buttons do nothing and serve absolutely no purpose. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.20 | Movement ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slam Attack: This move is used for ground enemies such as rats. You can't do it on all ground enemies, such as the crab. In this case you'll need to shoot them unless they're immune to your attacks. Skid Stop: It is crucial that you learn how this works. You press and hold the L1 and you'll move a lot slower. This is good for when you jump onto a small platform such as a box when you're over something that can hurt you like water. Shooting: Get familiar with how each of the three bubbles work. The blues are short-range bubbles that are not good. Green shoots further but do not lock-on. Red bubbles go far and they lock onto enemies. Jumping: Rascal jumps as high standing as he does while running. But be aware that he jumps farther when running and jumping. This allows you to jump across gaps and such. ############################################################################### 5.00 | WALKTHROUGH ############################################################################### Head out of your room and down the steps. Go through the door that's left of the blue door. In this room run up to the machine in the far left corner and jump through the ETTAS machine (Time Bubble). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.10 | Castle Hackalott ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Set in a medieval castle, these levels are very fun to play on. The enemies are cool and have nice characteristics. The levels themself span quite a few floors and there some traps to dodge, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.11 | Castle Past ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First, go through the only door in the room. Turn left and kill the big guy that charges you (you can opt to take care of him later if you wish), pick up the top-left piece to the hour glass that he drops. Turn around and go through the wooden door next to the yellow door. Proceed through the wooden door in this room as well. You will now be in a room with a bad guy in an armor suit. Take care of him and continue through the door. In this room you'll encounter a Sir Hackalott guard. Kill him and take the yellow key in the center of the room. Work your way back to the hallway where we first saw the yellow door. Since we now have the yellow key go through it. You'll now be in a dungeon-like area. In this area simply go forward a bit and pick up the blue key in front of you. Turn back around and exit to the hallway again. Go all the way down and then turn left. Open the gate with your blue key, then enter up the steps. Shoot the guard that is up here and proceed to the next room with traps swinging from the wall. Carefully maneuver past them while (while running) and through the door ahead. Oh no, more traps and a guard on top of it! Get between the two cannons' fire and shoot the guard, he drops the bottom-left hourglass piece. Go through the door ahead, pass even more traps, and straight through the door. In here take care of the guard and then collect the top hourglass piece that he drops. Next, go through the door on the left. In here is Stokes The Blacksmith. Get rid of him to get the bottom hourglass piece. Pass the furnace flames ahead and through the door, entering a room with water below. Do NOT fall into the water, you'll just die if you do. Work your way around, jumping the gaps as the water recedes into the walls. Once through the door on the other side you will be in a room with lava in the center. Work your way to the left, go through the doorway up and up the steps. Shoot the bad guy and go through the door next to the entrance you into this room at (it to the right on the same wall). Go across this shuttle bridge and take into the door. Run over to the throne and grab the red key. Head back across the bridge and into the room. This time go through the door that's left and across from where you entered. In here kill the guard by the green bunk beds and pick up the top-right hour glass piece that he drops. Jump onto the chest then onto the first bunk bed. Work your way across the bunk beds by jumping bed-to-bed. Hit the switch on the wall then jump to the door, enter. In this room you'll see a platform floating up and down, jump onto it and drop off to the bottom. Go through the door on the right (with the wood next to it). In here, grab the bottom-right hourglass piece and head back to the straw room. Take the floating platforms back up to the bridge, only this time you will go across and through the opposite door. Here you will be on a narrow strip high up. Hugging the wall, take it around and through the door. Cross this bridge and go through the red door. Jump through the ball. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.12 | Castle Present ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Walk forward through the door in front of you. In this room will be lasers shooting across. It's easier to go left and work your way around but it's also longer. If you go right it's hard but a shorter distance. It's up to you. In any event go through the door to the right. In this room is a bunch of spiders and two grates on the floor. Go to the top left and through the door. In this room (with lasers guarding the door to the right) will be a dog. Shoot it and go through the door ahead. You will come back to the laser-guarded door later on. In this room is a well-like thing and some steps to the left. Go up and around the steps, jump off and grab the extra life. Now go back up those steps and at the edge of the platform. This time, instead of jumping off, fall off at the very end and you'll get the blue key. It's kind of hard to see, but if done right you'll get it. Once you have the blue key head back to the beginning of the level and to the room you start off in. Once there go across the room and through the door opposite to your location. Go down the steps and open the blue gate and go through. Go forward then turn right, going into the first door on the right. Go back out and turn right and then go through the door on the left. In this room be careful not to touch the ghost (since you can't kill it and it can hurt you). Go through the door. Go ahead through the next door and into a room with a ghost and a security guard. Shoot the guard and get the bottom hourglass piece. Work your way all the way back to the room with the well in the center. Next, jump in the well and into the water (to do this you'll need to walk up those steps and jump off the platform and into the water). This part is completely composed of water and you can't surface for air. Be sure to pick up a bubble every time you see one. When you start down here there's three ways to go: left, forward, and right. Go right if you need an air bubble. Then go forward and make a right. Continue all the way down and make another right. Eventually you'll go through a door way and into a room with the bottom-right hour glass piece. Note: Going left is absolutely pointless, so don't bother. Head back as soon as you get the piece. Surface to get out of the water (where you originally jump in at). Now go through the other door in this room where you didn't come in at (to the left if you're looking at both doors). In this room there are lasers going across like before. The only difference is that they're closer together, making things a bit hard. Get past the first ones then jump on the display case to the right. Use this to jump over the next two laser beams. Go through the door ahead. More lasers in this room so just pass them and go through the door on the right. In here there's no obstacles or enemies. Just run forward and go through the door on the left. Shoot the security guard to obtain the bottom-left hour glass piece. Go down the hall and through the door. Go around this hall and hit the red switch on the wall in front of you. This switch does two things: It deactivates the laser beams (the shooting ones and the ones blocking the door) and it brings the guards to life. Now you need to head back. When you see the first guard in the room with the sword display in the center, shoot him to obtain the top-right hour glass piece. Continue back. Shoot this armored guard (who spins at you) to get the top-left hourglass piece. Go through the door. You'll now be back in the well room. Go through the door next to the steps. In here you'll notice that the lasers blocking the doorway are now gone. So go through that door and up the steps. Hey, it's those three bunk beds! Jump over the barrier to the left and go through the door. In here you'll need to shoot the security guard to get the top hour glass piece. Go back out and then go through the door next to the steps you came up. Cross the bridge and open go through the yellow door (you should have picked up the yellow key). In the throne room you need to jump up on the throne and over the wall. Go through the door ahead. Go through the door on the other side of this bridge. Walk around the path until you see a protruding platform. Walk on out to the platform then fall off and in into the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.13 | Boss Level ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As far as bosses go (in any game) they don't get much easier than this. Unfortunately, Rascal's controls make things a bit harder, but that's okay. All Chronon does is shoot flames at you. That's it. That is, when he pulls down his shield he shoots flames at you. Walk down the steps and start circling him while avoiding the flames. If you keep running around him the flames will not touch you. All the while you'll need to shoot him as he lowers his shield (once or twice). Once he shoots his fire start running again till he's about to lower his shield then shoot him again and run from his flames as he shoots. You'll know to start running again as soon as he starts to raise his shield, since it takes Rascal to get up to speed. Just repeat this until you defeat him. It's that simple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.20 | Aztec Temple At Chichimeca ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These levels are tough because of many obstacles in the way. You'll be dodging a bunch of different things as well as fighting some fast enemies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.21 | Aztec Past ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kill the guard to obtain the top hour glass piece. Go through the door then grab the red key in this water room. Go across the narrow beam then through the red door. Run to the other side while avoiding being hit by any of the three cylinders. This next room, with falling statues, splits into two ways. First, go left and shoot the crack in the wall to reveal a secret room. If you need health or bubbles, here's your chance, otherwise don't bother with this room and continue through the door in front of you. Jump in the water in the center of the room. You'll now be in a swimming area. Swim down and hit all of the colored panels in the corners. Now swim even further down to the cage area and grab the bottom-left hourglass piece. Head all the way back up out of the water to where you first jump in. Go back to the fork and this time you need to go right. Be sure to grab the top-left hour glass piece on the right side of this forked room. In this next room (on the right) will be two treadmills leading you into spikes. Avoid the spikes keep jumping through and opening to the left or right. Go over and get the top-right hour glass piece in the left corner of this room. Go through the door nearby. Jump across the platforms and through the door. Run through the arrow-shooting corridors by timing your jumping. At the other end, jump up on the jar and to the bottom-right hour glass piece. Next, enter to the next room. In this area is a slide (or half-pipe if you will), before going down be sure to grab the blue key in the corner! Now, jump over the pipe to slide down this half-pipe. You are now in the half-pipe mode. On the way down there's virtually no pickups to get. All you have to do is slide all the way to the bottom while avoiding the boulders since they take damage if collided with. Don't just stay on one side since there's boulders on the sides too as you get further down. Just swing from left to right until you're done. Once you're done go through the door and into a room with hotplates at the bottom. Jump to the right and through the blue door. Jump across the floating platforms and through this door. Now in this room you need to kill the warrior guard then continue in the room ahead, passing the yellow door up. In this small room is a gigantic flower that you'll need to jump the pedals of in order to get to the top. Once up there, grab the yellow key and the bottom hour glass piece. Slowly work your way back down the pedals, falling off each one slowly. Go back to the yellow door and enter. This next area is composed of two slopes with water on both sides of them. On each slope is a new boulder that rolls down every few moments. The best strategy, believe it or not, is to stay on one side. Simply pick the side you want to go up (it doesn't matter which one). Jump across to it on the edge---avoid falling in the hole---just hit the side then jump towards the center. Start walking up then when the boulder comes towards you jump to the center lane to avoid it then quickly jump back onto the same slope. If done right the boulder will miss you. Do this till you get to the top. Once at the top you will enter the room will the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.22 | Lumber Yard ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kill the guy with the chainsaw to get the bottom-left hourglass piece. Jump up on the swinging logs and to the top log. Walk into the red button on the top log and the gate behind you will open. Go through the gate to the river. Wait at the top (the left) for the log to come. Jump on it and then on the stump, jump on the next log, then on the stump, and finally on the next log and to the riverbank. Grab the yellow key and work your way back across. Go to the yellow door to the right of the three swinging logs. This water slide is fairly easy to maneuver down. The trick is to stay in the middle as much as you can no matter what. So, if you get pulled to one side quickly tap towards the center, otherwise you may hit into a branch above and take damage. Now done with the slide, walk to the right and push the red switch in. Very quickly run into the water to swim down and grab the top hour glass piece. If you miss it swim back up and hit the switch again. What side of the water you come up on depends on where you're at when you get to the top. If you come up on the lip side you'll be near the red button, and if you come up by the ledge side you'll be near the three switches. After getting the piece in the water come up to the three switches. Pull the left and right switch down, leaving the middle switch up. Jump up on the lowest stone and work you way to the top and through the doorway. Shoot the chainsaw guy to get the bottom hourglass piece. Hit the lever on the right to raise the three stumps on the left. Jump up on them and on to the building, then go through the hole. You'll be on a treadmill. Walk off of it to the left. Walk to the other side and jump back on to the treadmill and through the doorway. You're still on a treadmill, so walk off to the left jump back onto the center of the treadmill (between the two spinning steel things). Jump up and grab the top-right hour glass piece. Get off the treadmill and go through the door on the northwest side of the room (by the wooden beams). Go through it to yet another treadmill room. Jump onto the center of the back treadmill and get the bottom-right hourglass piece. Follow the treadmill through the next area. In this treadmill room you will need to follow the main treadmill down while avoiding the guillotines cutting down. Be sure to get the top-left hour glass piece between the first and second guillotine. Proceed through the doorway. You'll now be in a room with a bunch of boxes. Run around to the left and jump up on the boxes and over the brick wall. Go through the Time Bubble portal. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.23 | Boss Level ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As Chronon lowers his shield shoot him for the first time. Start running around him while he throws five hourglasses at you. Simply running around him without stopping keeps them from hitting you. After the 5th one is thrown turn towards him and wait for him to lower his shield. Once this happens shoot him with your gun and run around him again then shoot him again. Keep repeating this till he's no more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.30 | Atlantis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Atlantis levels are for the thinking man. The puzzles are clever and the graphics are enchanting. The enemies don't pose much of a threat, though. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.31 | Atlantis Past ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ah, what a pain in the butt this level turned out being for me. There's a little story behind this level. I'll explain it briefly: I purchased Rascal when it came out in 1998. I played the first few levels until I got to this level. I could NOT figure out what to do. Was I supposed to open the blue door first and how? If you've had this same problem and have resorted to this guide, fear not, this will explain everything. See I stopped playing in 1998 but I never started playing again until 2003, a whole five years. Would you believe it? Well, anyway, here's the walkthrough... Walk across the bridge and jump up on the first platform. Jump back and forth on the platforms, working your way inside the building. Once inside the building you can shoot the wall to your immediate left to reveal a secret if you wish. Whether you do are not, jump into the round pool of water in this room that I'll refer to as "the lobby". Swim down, get the red key at the floor of the water, get the extra life on the way back up, and swim back up to the lobby. Go through the center yellow door on the ground floor of the lobby. In this large room you'll see floating platforms moving back and forth over the water. Carefully jump across each one and to the other side where you'll see a red switch on the left and a blue switch on the left. It's important for me to explain that you need to first jump on and press this blue panel for later reasons. Each of the blue panels in this level raises a floating platform in this exact room that you're in, so just make sure that you press every blue panel from here on out. (See the FAQ section for all panel locations) Now that we've go that clear, go through the door on the side with the red & blue panels. Once outside, run up to the statue on the left to jump up on the front of it and grab the bottom hourglass piece. This is where I got stuck at: run over to the right statue and notice that it is sparkling. Shoot this sparkling statue to reveal the blue key (pearl)! Collect the key and head all the way back to the lobby. This time head upstairs, on either side of the room. No matter what side you went up, the steps take you to the same place so immediately walk up the steps and turn around at the top, go through the door ahead. Shoot the guard in this room and collect the top-right hour glass piece. Look for a table on the left side of this room, jump up on it and hit the switch on the wall. This reveals a blue doorway behind a bookcase. Go over to the blue shell on the table, and if you have the blue key, the blue door will unlock. Go through it. In this room is a yellow door on the left, go through it and into a good-sized room. First take care of the guard walking around to collect the top-left hour glass piece. Next look for the sparkling water pitcher on the right table. Shoot this and the green key (pearl) will pop out. Collect this and head through to the next area. The switch on the left lowers the floor so you can go down and get the bottom-right hour glass piece. Unlock the green door by walking up to the green shell. This next area is a bit tricky to get past. Out here is some water with four stones lying in it. Jump over to the first stone then wait for the water to rise all the way up then stop. Jump ahead to the second stone, then over to the third. Make sure you line up perfectly for the fourth stone because you want to jump off of it and to the ledge as quickly as possible. The reason for doing this is because as soon as you get to the fourth stone the water starts to go back down. Once you're on the ledge go through the door. In this carpeted room you'll notice a red door at the bottom right which you can't go through just yet. Instead, go through the door ahead. Go through this room with music notes on the wall and through the next door, to a bathroom-like area. Take care of the guard and collect the top hourglass piece. Walk up to the red shell in the corner of this same room to unlock the red door. Instead of going back to the red door, jump into the big bathtub and down the slide. Once you complete the slide you're be dumped into the pool in the center of the lobby. Swim up (again) and go through the yellow center door for a second time. You're back in the room with the platforms floating across the water. Now if you followed what I said earlier about pressing all the blue panels then you should have an ascending staircase up to the top platform, previously unreachable. Work your way up and get the bottom-left hour glass piece. This is going to be a pain in the butt but you need to work your way back to that red door you saw before going down the water slide. You can start by heading back to the lobby and going up the steps. Follow your previous path until you get to the red door. This time, go through it. Maneuver past the chess pieces and you're home free. Jump through the Time Bubble. Congratulations, you just beat a level that technically took me five years to beat. ;) Level complete. [If you really can't find all of the blue panels, refer to the FAQ section.] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.32 | Atlantis Present ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The whole level is flooded this time around. Quickly turn around from where you start and go through the door outside. You will see a plot with different colored squares on the ground. The object to this puzzle is to push the pillar down and then over to any colored square to open the corresponding gate on the mountain in front of it. Notice the mountain with the colored cages? Simply push the pillar that's down on the ground into the yellow slot to get the top-left hourglass piece and then into the red slot to get the red key. Finally, open the blue cage to get the tile piece. This part can take quite a while so if you need air simply swim back up to the lobby and grab an air bubble up there. However, please keep in mind that the pillar resets to the first position once you leave this area, so it's important that you at least get one object before going up for air. Once you've gotten both items swim back up to the lobby. Once in the lobby swim down into the hole. Get the yellow key at the bottom in front of you, then grab the piece of tile with a pattern on it that's to the left in an alcove sort of thing. Swim back up and through the center green door at the bottom of the room (the one between the two staircases). Swim to the other side of this room and grab the bottom-left hour glass piece and go through the door ahead. You're now outside. Swim forward and grab the piece of tile and the top hourglass piece. Now swim all the way back to the main lobby where you started at. Go up either side of staircases. Once up here go over to the yellow shell behind the stairwell banister. Touch it to unlock the yellow door behind you (it's yellowish green by looking at it). In this small room are mines, a guard, and the blue key. Grab it off the podium and head back out the door and through the dark green door across from you. Swim to the northwest side of this book room and get the top-right hour glass piece. Look for a hole in the ceiling of this book room and swim up through it. Next, look for a rip-out hole in a picture on the northwest wall of this room and swim through it (don't bother with the blocked doorway). In this big room swim down to the blue shell and touch it. This will unlock the blue door across the room, which you now need to proceed through. In here watch out for the pitchfork-wielding Delphinus, he's very nasty. First, grab the bottom-right hourglass piece in the right corner. Then turn around and hit the switch on the left to open a staircase in the middle of the room. Swim down into it and grab the extra life. Finally, go through the door to get the heck out of this room. You'll now be in a tank of water. Swim up through one of the squares in the top. You're now out of the water. Go through the door and into a room with red carpeting all around. Shoot the guard to get the bottom hourglass piece. Go up to the red shell on the right to unlock the red door and proceed through it. This part is a dead, but you still need to grab the tile piece next to the piano. Grab it then head back up until the room above the bookroom. The room I'm talking about has the blocked door and the picture with the hole in it. On the wall adjacent to the picture is a glimmering thing on the wall brush up against it and lay your four tiles down. Next, head all the way back to the lobby. Swim down into the hole in the middle of the lobby. This time look for the cage on the back wall, it should now be down. Swim through the hole that was once blocking to go down a pressured tunnel (like a slide). This will take you into a bathroom-like room. Kill the guard and then hop into the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.33 | Boss Level ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chronon is a bit tougher this time around. Run around him as usual (I go counter-clockwise). As his shield is lowered you want to attack him once as usual, only being sure to take off instantly or you'll be hit by one of his black flying saucers. If you come in for the hit too early then the ones that are following might hit you. So make sure the timing is right. Keeping attacking until he is defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.40 | The Jolly Raider Pirate Ship ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These levels are tough for two reasons. The first being that the areas are tight-spaced, so moving around can be difficult when an enemy blocks your path. The second reason is that there's so much stuff going on in the levels and there's lots of obstacles that can hurt you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.41 | Ship Past ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shoot the bird a few times to get the bottom-right hourglass piece and then go through the only door in this room. Be careful to not touch the crabs and the shimmering barrels in this room, for they can only harm you. Go through the next door. Go to the top of the room and shoot the crack in the wall and enter this room for an extra life and a heart. Go back out and to the right of where you came in, and through the wooden door. In this room you will see three crabs lined up in front of you. Kill all of them and get the bottom-left hourglass piece from the one in the middle. Turn around and grab the yellow key in this room and proceed the door opposite to where you came in at. In this narrow hallway that you're in, first jump over the cannon and shoot the pirate in the yellow shirt. He drops the top-left hourglass piece, so grab it and proceed through the next door. In this next narrow hallway take care of this pirate and continue through the door ahead. In this room is a blue key next to the steps, grab it. Now head all the way back to where you shot the wall out. Look to the left of the broken wall and you'll see a blue door. Go through it and into a room with a bunch of big crates. Jump over the first set of crate, then the second set, and through the doorway. Jump over the crates directly to the right and pick up the red key. Jump over the crates at the north side of the room and go through the door. Run over to the grate on the floor and stand on it. It'll open up and you'll drop down to a lower level on a crate. Jump across the boxes to the other side and grab the extra life and the bottom hour glass piece. Work your way back to the first crate that you dropped down on. Jump on the first ladder step and keep jumping up to the upper room again. Go through the yellow door. Shoot the parrot on the right and get the top-right hour glass piece. Now head all the way back to the room where you shot a hole in the wall. You will now need to go back to the right side door (the wooden one). Keep pushing forward until you get to the small room with the steps again. Walk up the steps to the red door and open it. Walk up the few steps to encounter another pirate. Kill him and then take the top hourglass piece that he drops. Walk down the steps in front of you out onto the deck. Walk up the steps ahead of you and then go through the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.42 | Sunken Wreck ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Swim up and get the red key that's to the right of you. Swim over into the hole in the rock wall with the heart in front of it. Get the top-left hourglass piece and swim back out. Swim over to the black hole (in the ship) and enter it. In here go through the red door and grab the bottom-left hourglass piece, then head back out the red door. Go through the wooden door across from it. When you get in this room you'll notice that it's really big and that there's a lot of things going on. Swim to your immediate right and get the extra life and the yellow key behind the crates. As you're on the right side of this room swim to the north side and through the door. In here there are two doors that you go through from here: one directly across the room (in the center) and one around the corner to the left. Go through the door in the center. Get the top-right hourglass piece in the northwest corner. Head back out and go through the door across to your right. Swim past the mines and through the door ahead. Swim across yet another hallway and through the door. Finally, swim through this third hallway and into the room. Swim up and get the bottom-right hour glass piece. Next, swim all the way back to the big room with a lot of things in it (where you get the yellow key in the corner from). If you don't remember how to get back, simply follow backtrack through the three hallways then turn right and through the door. Once in this room again look in the center where a pile of crates is. Look closely and you'll see a hole in the floor and ceiling. First, go into the ceiling. Swim across the board of the ship and get the top hourglass piece. Go back into the hole. You're in this main room again, only this time you will need to go down into the hole in the floor. Down here look for the doorway with the TNT barrels stacked in front of it, and go through it. Get the blue key in this room. Now go to the left side and through the door. Continue through the blue door. Go through the hole in the right wall. Swim around the wooden thing (left of your camera view) and get the bottom hourglass piece. Swim back to the intersection room where you got the blue key. This time you need to go through the right-side door. In this room go through the yellow door to your right. In here, swim forward while avoiding the mines and through the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.43 | Boss Level ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This battle is more of a cumulating of the previous battles with Chronon. Not only is the world completely different but he also has two different attacks that he uses in this battle. He shoots slow flames at you and throws multiple hourglasses at you. The best time to hit him is right after he throws the hourglasses. So, after he throws his last hourglass move in and shoot him, then start running again while he shoots his flames. Then he'll switch back to his hourglasses. Wait and then attack him again. Repeat until he's defeated. Note: While you can attack Chronon after he throws his flames I just don't advise doing so for two reasons. 1) The flames linger around for a bit even as the hield is being lowered, 2) It's very easy to get hit by the hourglasses if you don't have a good take-off. So that's that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.50 | Dodge City ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really like these levels. They look good and they're well spaced, allowing for the camera to behave (most of the time). I also like the different shops you go into. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.51 | Old West ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Probably my favorite level in the game since it reminds me of the Western towns in the Duke Nukem games, old west is more of an open level and not linear like most level before it. As you start off you'll be in a bank. Take note of the red door on the other side of the barrier in front of you. Now turn around and go out the door. Shoot and kill the cowboy in the middle of the street or else he'll tear you a new hide. Turn around and go into the building to the right of the bank you came out of. If you're looking directly at the bank that is. In here take note of the blue lock on the jail cell on the left. Go into the jail cell on the right and use the bed to jump up and get the top hour glass piece. Head back out into the streets. When you get out here stay on this side of the street and go through the door immediately left to where you came out of the building (the building with RIP on the doors). In here, first jump on the sparkling podium and it'll sink in. Go through the door that the podium revealed by moving the two coffins, to an area with a bunch of crates. Jump across the crates quickly, avoiding the bats. Work your way to the other side and get the top-left hour glass piece. Now work your way all the way back to the beginning crate and then jump towards the door. Go out the next door and into the streets again. Go over to the barn with the horseshoe sign hanging on the outside and go inside. Run to the back while jumping over the bails that the horses push in your way. Jump up and get the bottom-right hourglass piece and head back out to the streets. Run across the street and into the Saloon. Shoot the bartender and get the yellow key that he leaves behind. Walk over to the table with the pitcher of water lying on it. Shoot the pitcher to reveal the bottom hourglass piece. Now look for the door to the right of the bar stand and at the north side (in this Saloon). Go into it where you'll see a train that shoots steam out. Go to the left wall to avoid the steam and go all the way back and get the bottom-left hour glass piece. Turn around and head back to the streets. Run across the street and unlock the yellow do with your newly found key, enter. You're now barreling down a mineshaft and a shoddy mine cart. Like with all other parts like this stay in the middle but avoid any object that is in the middle. When you get to the bottom you'll be a cave area. Jump across the rocks, staying on the right side that's higher, and grab the top-right hourglass piece. Continue across the platforms and through the doorway. In here you'll need to jump across the pointed rocks to the other side while avoiding the swinging logs. If you fall into the water below run your butt off to the steps built into the wall and jump back up. The key here is to be patient. Once you get past the two logs you should be fine. Go through the doorway. Jump on the first circular platform that's leveled with the ledge that you're on. Then do a running jump to the platform to the far left. Work your way up and around these platforms, grabbing the red key that's on the 4th platform above your ledge. Once at the top go through the doorway. In this room are platforms that float across the water in threes. Jump on the first set, the second set, then forth set, and then the last and onto the ledge to the right. If you fall in the middle or at the top you might as well run the rest of the way over. Go through the doorway and you'll be back into the streets again. Go into the bank across the street. Jump over the barrier and unlock the safe with the red key. Get the blue key from the safe and then head back out to the street. Go into the building immediately left that has no sign on it. Walk up to the to the blue cell and open the gate to jump into the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.52 | Hollywood ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The level begins with Rascal walking through a door. Shoot the pirate in front of you and then turn around and go through the door. Take a mental note of the exit pad in front of you before leaving that area. In this next area the studio doors are numbered. Go through door number 4. In this street set grab the red key in front of you and use the parked truck to jump up and get the top-left hourglass piece. Exit out and go through door number 5. Run through this red archive place and to the door on the right. You'll now be in a Godzilla-like movie set with miniature buildings and a dinosaur in the middle. Take care of the reptile first of all. Next, you'll need to get the top hour glass piece that's in the shiny building in the center (on top). To do this you'll have to solve a puzzle. Notice the colors on the ground next to the building (blue, green, and red). What you have to do is raise these objects in that order to form steps going up the building. First look for the building with the blue helipad on top. Step on the helipad, jump two buildings over and step on the green helipad, then finally walk over to the other side of the room and jump up to the red helipad. If this is done fast enough you will raise all of the steps without any sinking back in. If you can do this they will stay for the remainder of the level. Jump up the steps onto the building and grab the aforementioned top hourglass piece. Exit through the only door in this room. Since you entered the city set through a trap door you'll now be on the other side, opposite to the red door. Now you need to go through door number 6, which is the red door. Kill the guy in this room to get the bottom hourglass piece. Now get the blue key in the center of this room. You'll now be in a cool looking set where everything is oversized. If the spider drops down shoot it a few times to make him go away. Regardless, jump up onto the books. Jump across to the green box and then onto the first shiny ball. Jump across two more times and jump forward to get the bottom-right hour glass piece. Head out of the room and all the way back to the area with the numbered doors. Go into door number 3. Unlock the blue gate and jump into the coffin thing, where you'll be in a sewer area. Jump across the floating platforms and to the side to get the top-right hour glass piece. Take these next platforms across to the next ledge. Go through the reddish door. Note: As soon as you step through this door you are automatically given the yellow key (just so you know). This area looks exactly like the last area except with one difference: there's a crack in the wall right where you come out the door. Shoot the crack and go into the room to collect your extra life on the steps above. Once back out take the same way across as you did before, only grabbing the bottom-left hourglass piece. Once you're all the way across go through this reddish door as well. You're now back on the street set, so go through the door on the other end of the street and back to the numbered door area. Go through door number one and unlock the yellow gate with the yellow key that you got earlier. Go through the Time Bubble. Level complete. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.53 | Boss Battle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In this battle Chronon is just as easy as the past battles. He is more aggressive and persistent, but still easy. Dodge all three of his takes as you circle him, striking as he lowers his shield, and immediately taking off. Repeat until he is dead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.60 | Corridors of Time ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Corridors of Time is a hub much like your house. The only difference is that you go directly to boss levels instead. These bosses are more varied than what you've seen, some of which you have and some you haven't. It does not matter which boss you start off with. Simply jump across (North, East, West, Southeast, Southwest) and jump to the last platform and walk forward. You will be entered in the corresponding boss arena. These guys, like most bosses in the game, are easy enough. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.61 | Delphinus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Location: North. Keep shooting him as he circles around the arena. He stops every so often to shoot at you if you're in site. Dodge this attack and keep shooting. Eventually, you defeat him and are returned to the hub. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.62 | Gordon the Good-Natured ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Location: East. It's that big green dragon Gordon again. Only this time he's flying and seems a bit ticked off. Watch for his fireballs that he shoots at you --- they're pretty fast. Get the green bubble gun if you need to. Keep shooting him till he's no more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.63 | Unknown (blue dragon) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Location: Southeast. While in not certain on his name, one thing is for sure: this boss is relatively tough when you consider how easy most of the bosses are. He moves fast and always follows you, so don't stop moving. Run to the outer wall and face him. Start shooting him while jumping backwards. If you're lucky he won't shoot. Do this till he is defeated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.64 | Deputy Warren Nash ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Location: Southwest. This guy is particularly nasty because you can't really see his firing since he's using a rifle. My suggestion is that you wait for him to fire, jump to the side, and shoot him as he's getting the shot off. Be careful, though, he's quick with the draw. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.65 | Camaxtli ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Location: West. Like the unknown dragon, this guy likes to rush you. He shoots fast fireballs as well. Collect the green bubble in the center of the level and try to get your distance from this guy. As he flees to the middle shoot him up
till he's no more.

After you defeat the last guy in this area you will be forwarded to an area
that is similar to an area in the movie studios. This is the final showdown
with Chronon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5.66 | Chronon - Final Battle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's the final battle and yet it's another easy fight with Chronon! Ah well, at
least you're almost done with the game. Like with the million other Chronon
battles, circle around him, only stopping as his shield goes down. Shoot him at
this point. Be careful not to fall of the ledges, though! Keep attacking him
till he's no more.

Congratulations, you beat the game!

6.90 | Glitches
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Castle Past", go through wall
I found that you can sometimes go into the right wall in the throne room. The
wall right of the throne and at the top. If you brush up against it the right
way, if you're lucky, you can go through it. I've got this to work twice (once
forwards and once backwards). I've tried other times unsuccessfully.

"Castle Past", go through floor
Also on this level I've been able to go through the floor of the room with the
mound of straw on the floor. Toy around by walking off the platforms that
floats up and down. Quite frequently you will go straight through the floor as
you fall.

Rascal Disappears
This glitch happens all the time. It's when part of Rascal's body seems to go
into an object visually. Obviously, this is do to bad game coding.

Rascal on PlayStation 2
There are some glitches when running Rascal on the PS2 system. One that I know
of is the options menu. If you go to the options menu you'll notice that the
objects don't show up. This prevents you from adjusting the audio, changing the
password, and so on. While this not *necessarily* the game's glitch, it is an
incompatibility glitch between the game and the PS2.

Q: Can you tell me about those GRAY doors in the house?
A: First, of all I want to say that I don't know how to unlock them as of right
   now. But I have seen where they lead to. How? By using the HOUSE cheat.
   Anyway, both gray doors that are in the house lead to the same garden area.
   This area is nice-looking, but small. On the brick wall is glass blocks
