================================================= PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER F.A.Q. Version 1.3 (march 14th, 2002) ================================================= Prefatio: Everyone who just have ISS2pro don't lose his money.. this game it's only a (bad?) update.(about a jleague2001- euro vers.), with less commentary and same sound errors,no player's name in commentary, few secrets, no real player's names, and stadions, unreal club shirts(strange colors).. better graphics, BETTER controls and less more.. If you wanna some PsOne konami game, search for Major league soccer Game noght OR JLeagueWinning Eleven 2001 (BEST) WARNING: this is not good for PS2 game only for Psx version. Disclaimer : This FAQ is made for personal use only and can't be used for anything besides non-profit. This FAQ can be posted on any sites as long as the document are not changed and I am fully credited. This FAQ is more correct than last versions but no sure about Korean Nad chinese players ... for advices please e-mail me at diegus.j@libero.it Contents : 1. Introduction 2. Game Explanation 3. Keys 4. Hints and Tips 5. Secrets 6. Nationals - True Players' names 7.Clubs - True Players' names 8. Default Master Players 9.WE series 10.Bugs 11.Credits 1.INTRODUCTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- It's finally come the new series of Winning Eleven for Psx/Psone... This was a surprise for me ..Konami politics, infact should be exclusively for Ps2. and last game was J-League Winning Eleven 2001. This FAQ is going to show you what is inside the new PES. 4.GAME EXPLANATION --------------------------------------------------------------------- Pro Evolution Soccer is really the last of W.E. There is some technical limits - however it CAN'T be similiar to the same PS2 game (Psx=32bit, Ps2=128bit) The graphics is more improved, music are good, but the commentary is not good - and no players namein it, it seems... As you know according to the title, this PES is no else than ISS2pro update. This game can be played by more players (Of course if you use Multi-Tap) and compatible with ANALOG controller. There are some that new in ISS2 , that is better controls, better graphics, speeder loading, but not all teams (cfr clubs) are realistic. There's a secret cup (like WE japanese serie) to unlock, but less secret teams. 3.KEYS ------------------------------------------------------------------ Just like the older ISS2 ,no new move , the game controls is easy to learn and I recommend to you NOT to change the controls. X : -Shorts pass -Normal tackle O : -Long ball -Crossing -Sliding tackle Square : -Shoot the ball -Clear the ball Triangle : -Through ball L1 : -Change player -One-two pass (L1+X) -One-two air pass (L1+O) -Short lob pass (L1+Triangle) -Lob shot (L1+Square) -Playing with the ball (L1 rapidly) L2 : -Use with X, O, Square, Triangle to set up the strategy R1 : -Run R2 : -Use with Square and Circle to set up the defensive and offensive (see the light below the name of the player) D-Pad (left only): -Move player 4.HINTS & TIPS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- There are some hints that you can learn like skills, playing tips, and many more. Nothing is good like pratics in playing. 1) When playing, set up the exact strategies that you often play with. My strategies are 4-4-2 A 3-4-3A , Oposite side attack, zone press, counter attack, (not with 3-4-3). I like that because I like fast and hard play. 2) Also set up the kickers because sometimes you can score from free kick and corner. 3) Oh yeah, when free kick, choose the exact kicker because if you stand on right you must choose the left foot player and so on. 4) When your opponent like to play with crossing ball, try to choose the Defender with high heights and jump power, mostly of the cross will be clear out by your defender. 5) When your opponent like to play with speed, try to choose fast player. 6) And if your opponent like to play with those two above the best strategies to set is the SB (both left and right) with fast speed and both CB with high heights and jump power (I use four defender). 7) You can use Fake Shot (Square+X/Shoot+Pass) when you are one on one with the keeper. I recommend you to do this if you sure you are pressing the right button because sometimes only X button that pressed (I made a few mistakes like that). 8) In W.E 2000 the referee is now more "aggressive" to show the yellow and red card. That's way I recommend you NOT often to use hard tackling except on certain condition like blocking cross or shoot. 9) You can score a beautiful long range goal. If you see the GK is a little on front, quickly press L1+Square.Usually when the GK will come forward if his teammate crossing the half line and when that happen quickly steal the ball and do what I told you above. 10) Try to use variety skills like one-two and short lob pass. 11) At the beginning, when ball is of opposite team, press and keep pressing square+ x +R1 to catch the ball and go to shoot on goal; useful in defense too... 12)Use awardeness option with side midfields....it works well. Others... 1)Veronica In italy there's a particular thecnical move called "veronica", i don't know if is in-use "para vos otros".. The forward receive ball an make a turn aroun the opposite defender going at his back redy to go on or shot on goal. This in ISS2 is very good when the forwards are on the line of opposite area so pass to the forward pressing X key (not triangle) and use directional keys to turn around the defender..better if you have a speeder or dribbling-able players. (shearer,owen,ronaldo,baggio..as you like) 2)sure run when you press R1 you cant' make any change of direction fastly and often defenders steal you the ball...BUT if you press R1 and soon use direction keys (roght-front-right-front etc) you can make a faster dribbling ..it depend however from what player are using (don't try it with Bourchet!) 3)Feint in shot on Goal usually is square+X but mysteriously, if you are in opposite area in a BAD position or a defender is on line with the shot the program do a feint only press square..it seems. or sometimes pass the ball to a central in better position to shot. 4)ENANCHE command Autogoals by your defenders when goalkeeper don't keep the ball? (it happens 'cause the program activate automatically a nearer defender to kick out in this case. Press several times the Triangle to activate SOON the GK before an autogoal Ah , to keep a free kick (or rarely a penalty) in- game Triangle.. (square or circle is better in this case) AND the directional key (in the direction of screen you think will arrive the shot) - must press and keep pressed..before shot The opposite goalkeeper catch the ball before you beat it by head ? The forward don't hop when you beat a corner? Press several times the square ,you'll maybe fault the shot (but better than no shot) Ultimate advice..even if you're in auto attack or dfense mode pressing R2+square(or circle) can modify the position of your team use it before a corner and wait yuor players are all in new positions. 5.SECRETS --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like the previous ISS2 pro... PES has only 4 secret teams in friendly match. World and Eurfo All Stars -world and Euro Classic ..You ought to win the international cup in Half AND Full season; no matter difficulty level. Unlock Club House stadium You must win konami cup ==================== Hidden teams in PES: ==================== win half season for EURO ALL-STARS WORLD ALL-STARS I.Casillas Chilavert Stam Montero Nesta Ivan Cordoba Thuram R. I won everything in whatever mode and I've find only this. Maybe if you win evrything I think there'll be another stadium unlocked(Masters?) 6.NATIONALS - TRUE PLAYERS NAMES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PES, like previous ISS Pro Evolution 2 games, comes with false player/stadium/club teams names. Licence, of course, they were unwilling to pay big bucks for licence. As most of you know, stadiums, Master League teams and players can't be edited (I'm not sure about Game Shark though), but you can edit national team players. It's hard to find all players' correct names, and, even though I've tried my best, I still may have some errors. If you find something you think is a wrong player name, feel free to mail it to me at diegus.j@libero.it . ==================================================== * is for default game name - searchin'...
