Sure, there will probably be *minor* additions in the future, but that's it for now. # I changed layout of the FAQ just a tad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Version 1.3 # I finished everything to the point where I only have two more sections to go! So, this guide is almost done...:) ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= III. Introduction =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Hey, my name is Nick Henson (which is evident if you actually bothered to look at the top of this guide. I would now like to take this time to welcome and introduce you to my FAQ/Movelist for the game InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale. This is an Arcade style game which is based off of the original anime by Rumiko Takahashi. Well, even though I have school and grades to worry about maintaining, I still find time to write FAQs for the games I love (weekends rule all!). This guide will strive to bring the most complete and in-depth guide to this game ever, and I won't quit until I attain that in this guide. The sole purpose of it is to inform and to help the people who need aid with anything in the game (easy or difficult). I hope you enjoy the guide as well as the game (as I do). Also note that this FAQ is not spoiler-free. So if you do not want all aspects of the game ruined for you, get out as quickly as you can, it's your last chance. But if not, by all means, stay... - Note: Some names may very from when I got the Japanese version (Sengoku Otogi Kassen), and the USA version (A Feudal Fairy Tale). ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IV. InuYasha =-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Automatically ----- About ----- InuYasha is a half-man, half-demon who lives in the feudal era. He can go back and forth through time via a magical well that is in his land. This can take him to the era in which a young girl (a reincarnation of Kikyo) named Kagome lives. InuYasha is searching the world(s) for all of the shards of the Shikon Jewel in order to become a fully-fledged demon. He is also the son of a great and powerful demon, Taiyoukai, and also the brother of another very strong demon, Sesshoumaru. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Bakuryuuha (Dragon Twister) <--- - Description: This move looks pretty cool and awesome, and on top of that, it does some pretty huge amounts of damage too. What it does is InuYasha swirls a gigantic whirl-wind cyclone at the enemy and it blows catastrophically around the whole screen for some massive damage done. This is his ultimate attack. - Combination: <--, <-- + [] ---> 2. Hijin Ketsou (Blood Blades) <--- - Description: This move I found to be rather cool. What happens in this move is InuYasha can either be doing this in air or not, and he fires off blades of blood at the opponent (see why it's cool?). Extremely useful attack. - Combination: [] + --> ---> 3. Kaze no Kizu (Wind Scar) <--- - Description: This attack, what it does is InuYasha sends out a blast of energy that moves steadily across the ground for a little bit and then it will vanish, but if it makes contact with an opponent, then of course it is going to blow up on their sorry butts. - Combination: [] + <-- ---> 4. Sankon Tetsou (Iron Reaver) <--- - Description: This is InuYasha's most basic attack. What happens is he just jumps up into the air and then moves forward a good 1 to 2 normals steps forward, and when he lands, if someone is there to receive the damage, the move will dish it out to them. - Combination: [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-= VI. Kagome =-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Automatically ----- About ----- Kagome is a young girl in the anime show created by Rumiko Takahashi, InuYasha. She is going to Middle School currently, and she discovers that she has a magic well which leads to the feudal era. Here she constantly meets up with a half-man, half-demon named InuYasha. He is looking for the shards of the Shikon Jewel in order to become a fully-fledged demon. Kagome helps him out because she is a reincarnation of Kikyo, a women who InuYasha once loved, and Kagome can detect pieces of the Shikon Jewel. That is all I will say about Kagome (hey that rhymes).;) ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Sacred Arrow <--- - Description: This is Kagome's most cataclysmically powerful attack. It is my absolute favorite in the whole game, even over everyone elses'. I don't really know why though. Anyway, what it does is Kagome readies her bow and arrow and then unleashes a gargantuan arrow across the screen that eradicates the enemy and does amazingly large amounts of damage as well. - Combination: v, v + [] ---> 2. Spiritual Power <--- - Description: This move can be kinda useful if used at the right time only. If you don't use it well, it's virtually useless against all enemies. What happens is Kagome lunges her hand forward as to go for a blast but then her hand begins glowing, and then she unleashes it on enemy. - Combinations: [] ---> 3. Arrow of Purity <--- - Description: This move is also pretty good, but it is not much in terms of visual eye candy. What it does is her bow and arrow lights up with energy and then she releases it will that energy towards the opposition for some fairly decent damage amounts. - Combination: --> + [] ---> 4. Curse Deflection <--- - Description: This move doesn't really have a name that I am aware of, so I just named it this. You'll be able to recognize it if you do it from the combo and the description. What occurs is Kagome's beautiful body emits powerful energy and then she blasts it out. Usually opponents go flying pretty far. - Combination: <-- + [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-= VII. Shippo =-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Sango and needed shards. ----- About ----- Shippo is a rather young boy. He is a demon fox who really likes to play tricks on people with his bizarre powers. His dad is killed by the Thunder Brothers, Hinten and his brother Monten and was worn for somewhat of warmth for Monten. So, Shippo set out to get revenge on them, and with the help of Kagome and InuYasha himself, they were all able to defeat the Thunder Brothers (it was mostly InuYasha do all of the killing). That is all I will say about the player known as Shippo. ----- Moves ----- ---> 3. Spinning Top <--- - Description: This is Shippo's ultimate attack in the entire game, just thought that I'd let you know that before getting to the actual description. What this attack is mostly about is that Shippo throws a pretty darn big Spinning Top at the opponent for some above average impressive amounts of damage when struck. - Combination: -->, --> + [] ---> 2. Fox Fire <--- - Description: First off, this move in the show is also known as Foxfire, just so you know. What this attack does is Shippo super-charges up his body and then unleashes all of the pent-up energy that was gathered up onto the opponent that he's facing. - Combination: <-- + [] ---> 3. Multiply Spell <--- - Description: Shippo makes three exact copies of himself so that they can leap forward about two steps and attack the opposition for mediocre damage that doesn't really 'wow' the user. - Combination: [] ---> 4. Transform <--- - Description: Shippo changes himself into the opponent. This is a really cool move to me for some reason. I guess it is because you get to see the same to people fighting each other, when it's not really the same character. - Combination: v + [] ---> 5. Fire Bombs <--- - Description: This move is when Shippo is in the air and then he just lunges a bomb down onto the opponent for some fairly decent amount of damage (at least for finishing off when they're low on health). - Combination: [] (must be done when you're airborne) ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-= VIII. Kikyo =-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Shippo and needed shards. ----- About ----- Kikyo was once InuYasha's one true love. She was the priestess of her village and was the guardian of the Shikon no Tama (or Shikon Jewel). With her very mysterious powers, she was able to purify the Shikon no Tama. Along with her great powers, Kikyo had the ability to be perhaps the best archer anywhere. She had sealed InuYasha to a tree with her arrow. But, Kikyo then died of a very fatal injury, and she made sure the Shikon no Tama was burned along with her, as to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. InuYasha then was awoken when a young middle school girl, Kagome, came along, which is a reincarnation of Kikyo. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Sacred Arrow <--- - Description: This move is Kikyo's ultimate move in the game, just for your information before we start up the real description. What this move does is just about the same as Kagome's Arrow of Purity which unleashes an enormous arrow of cataclysmic proportions at the opponent, and Kikyo's is different from Kagome's in the part that Kikyo's is that it is much, much faster than that of Kagome's (and maybe slightly more powerful). - Combination: v, v + [] ---> 2. Ascension <--- - Description: In this pretty cool looking move (most of Kikyo's moves are pretty darn cool), Kikyo sends her Soul Snatcher at the opposition to attack them for some pretty good damage. - Combination: [] + --> ---> 3. This is very similar to Kagome's same move. - Combination: <-- + [] ---> 4. Purification <--- - Description: In this pretty cool looking move (most of Kikyo's moves are pretty darn cool), Kikyo sends her Soul Snatcher at the opposition to attack them for some pretty good damage. The only real difference between this one and the 2nd Soul Snatcher is that this one flies a shorter distance and the 2nd on flies a significantly greater distance. - Combination: [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-= IX. Naraku =-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Sesshomaru and needed shards. ----- About ----- Thanks to AnimeForever.com this bio! Naraku is the enemy of Inuyasha and his party. Inuyasha dislikes him because it was Naraku who tricked him and Kikyou. Because of Naraku's trickery, Kikyou ended up dead, Inuyasha was enchanted, and their relationship was destroyed. Part of the reason he did this is because Naraku himself grew to like Kikyou. Naraku was not always a demon, and was once human. He had been badly hurt, and it was Kikyou and her sister Kaede that had taken care of him. Because of her kindness, known as Onigumo before Naraku, that was why he grew fond of her. However, Onigumo craved more power, and couldn't stand his useless, unable to move state. So, he let the demons that kept coming to the cave where he was stowed eat his soul and become part of him. In return, Onigumo became Naraku, gaining more power. Naraku can change forms as he sees fit, usually going from one human host to another. As for why Miroku dislikes him, this is because it was Naraku who put the curse on Miroku's family, the curse of the Kazaana. If Miroku defeats Naraku then the Kazaana will disappear. It was Naraku who brainwashed Kohaku, using him to kill Kohaku and Sango's father, and the comrades of their Demon Hunter Village. Naraku manages to keep Kohaku alive with a piece of the Shikon no Tama. Sango hates Naraku for using her brother, and wants to find a way to either let Kohaku rest in peace or free him of Naraku's grasp. However, Naraku uses Kohaku as a pawn against Sango. Sometimes Naraku helps out other demons or villians, anything to get at those he wishes to defeat. The Saimyoushou, the poisonous bugs, are of Naraku's doing. Also, Naraku likes to use "dolls" or fake minions to trick his opponents, not much at a loss if the dolls/fake minions do lose. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Illusory Death <--- - Description: This is Naraku's ultimate attack for your information. What this move does when used is Naraku sorta summons up roots from the ground, and then they start to move across and along the ground rather fast. They attack the enemy while doing this for some pretty damn heavy damage. - Combination: v, v, + [] ---> 2. Poison Insects <--- - Description: In this rather cool looking move (but it kinda gets old after you do it about 10 times :)) Naraku sends out a total of three bees that fly towards the opposition and attack them. - Combination: --> + [] ---> 3. Demon Puppet <--- - Description: This move, even though not the most powerful, is still my most favorite because of so dang cool it looks when Naraku uses it in battle. When this occurs, Naraku calls his previous self to come and attack the target from above them for some medium damage at best. - Combination: <-- + [] ---> 4. Miasma <--- - Description: With this move, Naraku uses his Dark Miasma to cover up around his body, and it does just that too. - Combination: [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-= X. Miroku =-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Kagome and needed shards. ----- About ----- Miroku is a monk who journeys along side with InuYasha, Shippo, Kagome, and Sango. He has amazing and almost unmatchable magic powers and sometimes cheats using his monk powers to get free food and stays and homes. He helps InuYasha battle with Sesshomaru, but his magical hand is clogged up with the Bugs of Hell, thanks to the malignant Naraku conspiring with InuYasha's evil brother, Sesshomaru. All around he is a very powerful and kind warrior. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Wind Tunnel <--- - Description: This move is really cool looking. Some people may remember it from when it was clogged up the Hell Bugs. But, what it does is Miroku opens up a portal in his hand, and then is starts sucking the opponent. Now, unlike the show, it doesn't swallow them up, it just does continual and perpetual damage. It is his ultimate attack. - Combination: <--, <-- + [] ---> 2. Ashen Salt <--- - Description: In this move, it does not do anything special, nor is it anything in terms of visual eye candy, either. What happens is Miroku throws some of his Ahen Salt, and it goes for a very short distance, and for very minimal damage. - Combination: [] ---> 3. Spirit Ward <--- - Description: This move is alright, well, in terms of looks. But in damage it is not anything to be to proud about. What occurs is that Miroku sends two of those cards which he uses to stray away spirits, at the opponent. Not much damage is done, as mentioned before. - Combination: --> + [] ---> 4. Spirit Hold <--- - Description: This is a rather helpful move at times, but if you mess up with it, it can turn out quite bad on your part. What happens during this is Miroku sends a scroll out, and if it touches the opponent, it holds them allowing for Miroku to follow up with a kick, which can lead into a huge and devastating combination of attacks. - Combination: v + [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-= XI. Sango =-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Miroku and needed shards. ----- About ----- Using her gargantuan boomerang called the Hiraikotsu, she is by far the most skilled and powerful (and beautiful) warrior of the Demon Exterminators. Her Hiraikotsu is made out of Youkai Bones. One day, she was on a job, when she was badly injured, but, her father and brother weren't that lucky; they died. But, at around the same time that occured, her village was attacked and utterly destroyed by Youkai; they didn't leave anyone or anything alive. Now, she seeks revenge against the insidious demon who had eradicated her family and village, this demon, Naraku. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Kirara <--- - Description: This move is really cool, and may be one of the coolest looking in the entire game. What happens is that she unleashes the huge monster, Kirara, to attack the opponent for some pretty darn good damage at that. And then it turns small again and walks away. This is Sango's ultimate attack. - Combination: <--, <-- + [] ---> 2. Hiraikotsu <--- - Description: This move is mediocre, so don't expect too much from it. All she does is throw her Hiraikotsu boomerang at the opponent. And if that misses its mark, it'll come back and hopefully hit there. - Combination: --> + [] ---> 3. Poison Powder <--- - Description: In this move, all Sango does is jump back away from the enemy while unleashing some poisonous pink power at them. Not too much damage is done during this attack. - Combination: [] ---> 4. Chain Attack <--- - Description: In this move, you are required to be right next to the opponent for it to take any affect, or they can be just in the right spot when they're in the air. What happens is Sango uses a chain to lift enemy up and then slam them on the opposite side of where they just were. You can do an altered version of this if you jump forward in the air and press Triangle button. - Combination: v + [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-= XII. Kagura =-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Koga and needed shards. ----- About ----- She is one of Naraku's evil and malignant possessed demons. She is rather powerful, but is easily defeated by the group. She is also easy to beat in the game, even with her wide repertoire of magic-type attacks. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Dragon Dance <--- - Description: This move is pretty darn cool to look at. What happens during this attack is that Kagura does a little spin, and then, unleashes the main part of the move, a catastrophic twister tornado for some pretty good damage to its unlucky victim. This is her ultimate attack. - Combination: -->, --> + [] ---> 2. Kanna <--- - Description: This move is alright. What takes place during the execution of this attack is that Kagura brings forth a little demon girl (I forget her name). And then she emanates a magical blue energy for minor damage. - Combination: v + [] ---> 3. Dance of the Dead <--- - Description: This move is almosty reminiscent of the last move, just with a few major discrepancies.:) What happens in stead of bringing forth small demon girl to use magic, she brings forth a tall human man to use physcial force to attack. Heh... ^_^ - Combination: <-- + [] ---> 4. Dance of Blades <--- - Description: Not much to look at here with this attack. All that happens is she unleashes a large energy blade spiraling at the opponent. Also can be executed while Kagura is airborne. - Combination: [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= XIII. Toutousai =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (Go to Secret Characters section for info on how to unlock)! ----- About ----- Coming Soon! ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Super Hammer <--- - Description: A very powerful, useful, and ultimately awesome-looking attack in this game. What happens is the Toutousai drives his hammer into the ground. Then, giant energy blast comes up from out of the ground, and this, will be able to hit anywhere along the television screen, which is very useful, indeed. This is Toutousai's ultimate attack in the game. - Combination: -->, --> + [] ---> 2. Fire Breath <--- - Description: This attack can be quite useful if utilized correctly. What will occur is, like a dragon, Toutousai will blow some fire out of his mouth at the opponent. - Combination: [] ---> 3. Giant Hammer <--- - Description: This attack is reminiscent of the ultimate attack, Super Hammer, but alot weaker. This does the same hammer slamming thing, but makes fire appear and attack opposition. - Combination: <-- + [] ---> 4. Momo Drop <--- - Description: This attack I had found really quite humorous (not as funny as Miroku grabbing Kagome's butt, though). What happens is Toutousai commands his cow to drop on top of the opponent, and all of the while that cow is doing the mooing sounds. Does mediocre damage, also. - Combination: v + [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= XIV. Sesshomaru =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with Kagura and needed shards. ----- About ----- This is InuYasha's brother. But, completely unlike InuYasha, he is a true demon and not a half-breed demon like his brother InuYasha. He is also completely dark and evil which is totally unlike InuYasha. Sesshomaru would be the true master of the powerful sword, the Tetsusaiga if it weren't for one big detail: only those with human blood in them can possess that sword, like InuYasha. But, Sesshomaru has only pure demon blood running through his veins, so if even attempts to touch it, it wards him off with mystical energy. But, one day, Sesshomaru was looking for an arm to replace the one InuYasha had cut off with Tetsusaiga, when Naraku came. He then offered Sesshomaru an arm of a human to replace the arm which he had lost. This then allowed him to wield Tetsusaiga. They are both sons of Taiyoukai, an immensely powerful demon. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Demon Transformation <--- - Description: This move looks some damn cool. It is also very powerful in the battles as well. What happens when this attack is performed is Sesshomaru transformed into his true demon state which looks like a gigantic wolf (that's why you fight him in the Wolf Demon Den). He then clashes down onto the opposition, and if done right, can deal some enormous amounts of damage. This is Sesshomaru's ultimate attack in the entire game. - Combination: -->, --> + [] ---> 2. Tokijin <--- - Description: In this move, Sesshomaru will draw out his Tokijin sword, and the energy from it goes around the entire screen where you opponents are fighting each other. - Combination: v + [] ---> 3. Whip of Light <--- - Description: For no apparent reason, I just seemed to like this move. What happens is he starts to spin around in a cyclonic motion, and he attacks like a whip. - Combination: <- + [] ---> 4. Poison Claws <--- - Description: This move is nothing too special, nor is it anything to marvel or gawk at, really. All it does is Sesshomaru starts running for opponent while is claws are out. This does very minimal damage. - Combination: [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-= XV. Koga =-=-=-=-= Unlock: Finish with InuYasha and needed shards. ----- About ----- Coming Soon! ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Demon Pack <--- - Description: This move is really cool (and it received extra bonus points because of the fact that wolves are my absolute favorite animals). In the attack, what happens is that Koga commands a very large pack of brown wolves to go and attack the opponent all at once. This is very useful, and does a very impressive amount of damage. This is Koga's ultimate attack. - Combination: v, v + [] ---> 2. Demon Kick <--- - Description: This move is pretty alright. What happens is that Koga does an upward kick attack at the opposition. This is done for minimal damage, and can be quite handy for carrying over into other combos. - Combination: <-- + [] ---> 3. Wolf Wind <--- - Description: In this move, Koga will strike the enemy, and wind will accompany him. This, in my mind, can easily qualify as the most useful attack in the whole game, easpecially if you keep using it over and over again. - Combination: --> + [] ---> 4. Wolf Kick <--- - Does a spinning kick at the opponent. This does not do a wowing amount of damage, either. - Combination: [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= XVI. InuYasha Transformation =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (Go to Secret Characters section for info on how to unlock)! ----- About ----- Note: Will be same as InuYasha. InuYasha is a half-man, half-demon who lives in the feudal era. He is transformed, though. ----- Moves ----- ---> 1. Demonic Power <--- - Description: This is attack is perhaps my favorite attack in the whole entire game now that I've unlocked him (yes, I like it more than Kagome's Sacred Arrow ultimate attack). He unleashes a cataclysmicly destructive energy at the opponent for massive damage. This move also is the coolest and most-like-the- show move in the entire game as well. Trust me, it is worth it to get this InuYasha just to see this move! - Combination: <--, <-- + [] ---> 2. Claw <--- - Description: This is InuYasha's most basic attack. What happens is he just jumps up into the air and then moves forward a good 1 to 2 normals steps forward, and when he lands, if someone is there to receive the damage, the move will dish it out to them. Very fast. - Combination: [] ---> 3. Charge <--- - Description: In this move, InuYasha will strike the enemy, and wind will accompany him. This, in my mind, can easily qualify as the most useful attack in the whole game, easpecially if you keep using it over and over again. - Combination: --> + [] ---> 4. Biting <--- - Description: You must be near opponent. What it does is InuYasha holds the enemy and then starts biting three times in a row. - Combination: v + [] ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= XVII.
