Introduction ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Inuyasha: A Fedual Fairy Tale is a game based off of the anime "Inuyasha". It follows the storyline of the anime and manga. It is a good anime fighting game with different mechanics and lots of extras for a 2D Playstation game. Even though it doesn't have as many characters as most fighting games, it has diverse character and no one is a clone like mose fighting games. This game has Japanese voices, but the menus are in English and there are English titles and sub-titles. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4. Basic Attacks ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Weak Attack: This is a quick attack that isn't one of your strongest techiniques, I suggest using it to give a quick attack and start linking in you strong attacks. Strong Attack: This is a slow yet more powerful attack. I suggest using these with you specials to get the most out of you attacking prowess. Some characters have a lag time after some of their attacks so be warned. Special Attack: Each Character comes equipped with 3 special attack. They are are usually strong attack and have lots of lag time if blocked. They are good when you really want to build your Spiritual Meter because they build up your meter a good bit. Counter Guard/Attack: When someone attacks you, you have the ability to knock them off balance by pressing the button time you are about to be attacked. It leaves the opponent open for you Super Special Attacks and Strong Attacks. Super Special Attack: This is a very powerful attack. It does a lot of damage, but sometimes it's better to wait until your opponent is doing a hevay lag timed move or counter guarding to be sure that you will hit them. When this attack is used, you use your whole Spiritual Meter, the blue meter under your health meter, to do this attack. Guarding: When your opponent attacks, you can hold B, the back button, to lower the damage. If the attack is coming from a crouching opponent, then you need to use DB, Defensive crouch, to block the attack. This also lowers a LOT of the damage you would receive if you were ebing hit with a Super Special Attack. You can also guard when you are in the air by holding B when you are being attacked. Dash: To dash, you can either hit FF to dash forward or BB to dash backwards. While you are dashing, you can hit an attack button to do a dash attack. This can also be done by pressing L1 or R1. Air Dash: You can dash in the air, unlike the Street Fighter games where you may dash forward, you go in an oblique, downward, direction towards your opponent. You may not Air Dash backward and not all characters can Air Dash. Throw: To throw your opponent, get in close and press F+O to throw your opponent. Your character may do a different throw if they are fighting a certain character. The YASHA Combos: These are combos that can be easily executed. They are uasually 2-8 hits depending on how many times you pressed the button. They aslo end with a Special Attack if you don't stop it. You may end it in your own Special Attack if you press the buttons quick enough before your character starts their Special Attack. Most Yasha combos are done by pressing, TTTT or OOOO, yet sometimes you may be able to do TOTOTOTO and it that will end in a Special Attack. Double Attack: Press the R2 button to make your character execute an attack. If you connect, your teammate will rush in and do and attack. It will either knock the character down or knock them back. You can only perform this in Team Battle. This drains one block of your meter to use this. Character Switch: Pressing L2 will make you switch characters. You will use your whole Team Meter to execute this move. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6. Meters ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Health Meter: This is mainly what you should be concentrating on whenever you are fighting. This shows how much more damage you charcater can take before he/she is knocked out. This takes a while for you characters health meter to completely drop because unlike most fighting games, these matches last a bit longer. Remeber to block when needed and if you run low on health, block when you can and unleash as many combs as possible. Even though this game is so easy that you may not even need to block and watch your health, playing against a good fighting player, you will need to block and watch this meter. Spiritual Meter: This is the meter which tells you when you can do your Super Special Attack. It is directly under your health meter and once it's full, you are able to do you Super Special Attack and unleash heck on your opponents. Once you use your Super Special Attack, your meter goes empty. The meter fills in these 3 ways: 1. When You Attack 2. When You Are Attacked 3. When you pick up a jewel shard dropped by your opponent. Tag Meter: If you are playing Dream Fairy Tale Mode or you are in a Team Battle, you are given a meter at the very bottom of the screen. The meter has three blocks on it. If one block is filled, then you are able to do a Team Attack. If all three blocks are filled, you are able to switch characters. Your Meter is filled: 1. By 1/4 if your or your opponent is hit with a weak attack 2. By 1/2 if your opponent hits you with a strong attack 3. By 3/4 if you hit your opponent with a strong attack You should also note that when you teammates picture is blinking, you gain double the energy for you meter. So unleash combos when the picture is blink red! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 7. Tiers ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Tiers are the advantages that some characaters have when you are playing with them. People have different opinions on their tiers, and I think mine is not one where I love a certain character and I don't notice theybare poor characters, but their skills as a character. I do not mean anything if your most effective character is in a lower tier, but I find some characters better than others. The higher a character is on a tier, the better he/she is. * Shippou can be on a different tier because he can change into any character. The problem is that when he is hit with a special attack, he changes back to normal. If that didn't happen, he would be a top tier character. Top Tier ~*~*~*~*~*~ Miroku Kikyo Demon Inuyasha Upper Tier ~*~*~*~*~*~ Koga Inuyasha Kagome Shippou * Middle Tier ~*~*~*~*~*~ Sesshoumaru Naraku Totosai Lower Tier ~*~*~*~*~*~ Kagura Sango Shippou * As you can see, the higher your character is, the better a chance you have at winning a match against a good player. Even though you character may have a low ranking, he/she may even be able to KO a higher tiered character. So, please do not send hate mail saying that a character is better than another character, but you may send me your own strategies for a character. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 8. Character Strategies and Movelists ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Thses are strategies built for each character and how to use them to the best of their abilities. Key Name: Character Name Tier: What tier the character is in Air Dash: Can the character Air Dash Character Type: Which type of shards this character can pick up Pros: The things they are good at Cons: The things they are bad at Move List: Their Moves Strategy: How to use the character properly _________________________________________________________________ 8.1 Name: Inuyasha Tier: Upper Air Dash: Yes Character Type: Purified Pros: Good Power An All Around Good Character Has a wide range of abilities A very good suprise character Has a good range for a male character A speedy character Cons: He has poor long range capabilities He can't stack up to projectile users He has a huge lag time on some moves Move List: Iron Reveaver: S Inuyasha does a downward slash that is very quick and you will do a good amount of damage. Make sure you are close to the opponent to asure that you will hit them. Blades of Blood: F+S Inuyasha throws a bit of "blood" at the opponent. This does not really look like blood and it's a standard projectile. It is also a great air suprise attack because it can be done in the air. Wind Scar: B+S Even though in the anime, this attack is very powerful, this attack is your regualr special. It does a good amount of damage, but it's short ranged. Inuyasha slams his sword onto the ground and a shockwave slide across the ground for a few moments. This has a lag time in the beginning where Inuyasha must strike the ground before really doing the attack. This attack make the opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Super Special: Dragon Twister: D+D+S Inuyasha stick his sword out in front of him an unleashes a huge twister that twister shoot outwards. This covers up most of the screen. It is best used when your opponent is recovering from a one of their moves or they are throwing a a projectile. Strategy: I didn't put Inuyasha in the upper tier just because he is the main character of the story. He is a great character for a beginner. His sword attacks do a lot of damage and his weak attacks aren't so weak. He has a projectile to keep enemies away and he does best at close range fighting. The best thing to do when you are Inuyasha is to rush in and unleash as many combos as possible. Don't rely on you Super Special too much because of the lag time. Use it when your opponent is hesitating and out of options. Inuyasha's lag time after moves may kill him, but if you can use his speed to advantage, you'll be okay. He doesn't seem to give a lot of power just from his attacks, but when you link them into combos you can be unstoppable. All you need to do is switch up your weak attacks, going into storng combos, or even a mix of the two. Most opponents forget that you can fight a bit of long range yourself because Blades of Blood has a lot of priority, a suprise attack in an air move or just and attack that you can cheese with. This attack isn't as good at Kagura's Dance of Blades because it doesn't have the giantness of her attack and it doesn't (in my opinion) rack up as much damage. Yet, unlike Kagura's Dance of Blades, you have little start up time and you can hit dashing opponents when needed. Inuyasha is a great character because you start with him from the beginning and you can easily master him when you first get the game. _________________________________________________________________ 8.2 Name: Miroku Tier: Top Air Dash: No Character Type: Neutral Pros: Fights well long range and hand to hand All of his attack have a good range He has a good speed advantage He can even wack away at a crouchinh Shippou He has a great amount of combo ability His Spirit Hold plays a good part in his keep away method He plays keep away almost as good as Kikyo Cons: He has a good amount of lag time If he can't handle Shippou, he'll be eating his tricks He has little air dominance Ashen Salt sucks Move List: Ashen Salt: S Miroku throws a bit of salt at the opponent. It take a while for it to actually come out because Miroku has to throw it first. Don't abuse this attack or use it a lot. The salt also hits a crouching opponent. Spirit Hold: D+S Miroku throws some incantation paper in front of him. It will stay in place for a second or so and if the opponent runs into it, they will be held there for a moment and he will hit them with his staff. If the opponent is in front of the paper, Miroku will stand there chanting and you can attack him. This has terrible lag time. This make the opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Sprirt Ward: F+S Miroku throws flaming incantation paper at the opponent. Like the Ashen Salt, it hits even crouching opponents. This attack also comes out faster than Ashen Salt and you have a bit of lag time when you pull it out, not as much as the Ashen Salt though. Super Special: Wind Tunnel: B+B+S Miroku unwraps his hand, stick it forward, and the Wind Tunnel appears. This does not make the opponent get sucked into the Wind Tunnel though. It does 8 hits to your opponent. It covers almost all of the screen and is a great attack to use, even on a blocking opponent. Strategy: Miroku is best used for his keep-away abilities. Almost all of his attack can deal great amounts of damage when used correctly and they keep the opponent back. To use him to the best of his ability, rush in, do a Strong Attack combo, rush back to the end of the screen, do the Spirit Ward to keep the opponent back. If you don't like cheesing then keep doing combos, when they get in close, do your Spirit Hold. If they get TOO close, do your Ashen Salt and do your Spirit Ward and when your meter is full, use your Wind Tunnel. It has capabilities for any type of situation. This will keep distance between you and your opponent. This will kep you health high, they keep taking constant damage from your attacks, and you keep launching them. It may seem cheesy, but it works. There is one more way he can be played, rush down. Run in and do you combos and your Spiritual Hold when the opponent gets off guard. Mix up your stategy and you'll be doing good. Remember, Miroku is the highest ranked character, which is also a plus. Don't let this make you think that you are invincible because evn a good Shippou player can kill you. You have a lag time that will make you wince and that leaves yo very open to a high damaging combo. Don't make yourself completely predictable on what you're doing if you are going to play a game of keepaway. Switch up your attacks and watch out for dashing opponents, your Spirit Ward may not come out fast enough for you to hit them in their kisser. _________________________________________________________________ 8.3 Name: Kagome Tier: Upper Character Type: Neutral Pros: Queen of Speed A powerful female character An intimidating character A Long Range Character Different Fighting Capabilities Powerful Special Attacks Cons: Her Lag Time Her somewhat weak combos Spiritual Power doens't rank up to a useful move Moves List: Spiritual Power: S Kagome raises her hand and iemits an orb of energy in front of her. This is not a projectile, because it does not release out of her hands. This attack is somewhat like Chun Li's Mini Kikyouken from Street Fighter, but smaller. Purification Arrow: F+S Kagome shoots an arrow at her opponent. The bad thing about this attack is the lag time of it. You have a bit of time to block the attack, but it's a good projectile and let's Kagome follow up with her combos. This also makes the opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Curse Deflection: B+S Kagome lifts into the air a bit, her eyes close, and and she is surrounded by some light. If this hit an opponent, then they are sent flying towards the opposite side of the screen and does a good amount of damage. She is left open to a projectile attack if she misses this move because you have to be close range. Super Special: Sacred Arrow Using the technique from Kikyo, Kagome fires a GIANT blue arrow at the opponent. It doesn't travel as fast as Kikyo's, but it is still fast and does a good amount of damage. There is very little wind-up unlike her Purification Arrow. Strategy: Kagome is a speedy character for her size and she is very durable for her stature. She plays more of an in between game of keep away and turtling. Her combos are up to par, but you'll need to perform her combos with her specials. Do NOT use her Purification Arrow a lot because of her lag time using it. I suggest you mainly keep the opponent bak with your combos, when they get close, use Curse Deflection, and when your meter is full, USE your Purification arrows. As usual, whn you have an opportunity, use your Sacred Arrow to finish the opponent off. One more thing to remember is you're a fast character and you can sneak in with attacks and rush out quickly. _________________________________________________________________ 8.4 Name: Sesshoumaru Tier: Middle Air Dash: Yes Character Type: Neutral Pros: Strong Attacks Little to no Lag time Has a LOT of speed Great close ranged combat Cons: No Long Ranged Attacks Long Range combat will kill you His range isn't very good His Super Special is hard to connect with Move List: Poison Claws: S Sesshoumaru raises up one of his hands and it glows green with poison. He rushes forward slices at the opponent. This is his best ranged attacked, even though it isn't a projectile. Whip Of Light: B+S Sesshoumaru spins around and a yellow whip emits from him while he is spinning. It comes out a bit and then it closes in. While doing this, he looks somehwta like a tornado. Tokijan: D+S Sesshoumaru takes out his sword and slashes with it. It leaves a blue cresent and it covers the whole screen. Not the WHOLE screen, but a small vertical portion of it. This also makes an opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Demon Transform: Sesshoumaru disappears and reappears a giant wolf striking the middle of the screen. The bad thing about this move is that it only hits in the middle of the screen. He then reappears falling from the top of the screen. Strategy: Sesshoumaru is more of the physical type of character. You will probably only be using his Strong attacks and his Poison claws to do most of your damage because he has little range. His whip of light is a great anti-air attack and his Tokijan covers a the vertical radius of the screen. His special lacks range. Since it only hits in the middle of the screen, you'll do best counter guarding, while the opponent staggers, quickly do you super special. Sesshoumaru is easy to learn with but he may take a few moments to master because of his lack in range. So follow these tips, stay in close, block projectiles, when needed use your poison claws, and use your Tokijen as a suprise attack. Never forget that you can also use your weak attacks to an advantage also. Your weak attacks are a bit more powerful than Inuyasha's and you will get mostly used to using them. They aren't as deadly as Inuyasha's because his are a bit faster. You may also keep using his weak attack in combination after you have performed your Whip of Light on an enemy and you can press the Weak Attack button to get in a few extra hits for some extra damage. This may not always work though. I ended a combo with the Whip of Light once and added a few weak attacks to it and got 11 hits. That's the most I have ever gotten. _________________________________________________________________ 8.5 Name: Sango Tier: Lower Air Dash: No Character Type: Purified Pros: Her Special covers the whole screen and comes out fast She's great at the Poisonous Insects Mini-Game Good anti-air character Cons: Her range is SOOO crappy Her Hiraikotsu has a HUMONGOUS lag time when blocked She does poor long range She does poor close ranger She doesn't have good foot speed Posion Powder: S Sango throws some poison on the ground and it rises. Sango rushes backwards a bit. You have to be pretty close to you opponent to actually get some use out of it. Hiraikotsu: F+S Sango throws her giant boomerang and she staying in the throwing position for a while. If it is blocked, she stays in that form. If you jump over the boomerang, it will hit when it comes back. If she is hit after it is thrown, the boomerang will appear again on her back. This attack cover all of the vertical area of the screen when it is thrown. Chain Attack: Sango throws her chain at an angle and it will hit opponents in the air. If it misses, she will saty in that postion for a few moments and pul the chain in again. You must be REALLy close to you opponent to hit them with this move. It is a very bad move to use. Use it ONLY if someone air dashes near you. This will also make an opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Super Special: Kirara: F+F+S Sango shouts Kirara's anme and holds out her hand. Kirara then rushes across the screen with great speed and attacks the opponent. This is her BEST attack. It has almost no lag time and you can then use her Kiraikotsu to do even more damage. Startegy: Sango is an AWSOME character in the anime. In this game, they totally messed her up. It's sad that she has such bad lag times during her moves and she has a hard time gettig around. To really get some use out of her you need to uses your weak combos because they will add some speed to your attacks. Link your weak attacks with some of you Special Moves to really get some damage done. She is best used in Mini-Game Mode because her Hiraikotsu can hit all the insects, even when it returns. Sango isn't a bad character, she has many possibilities into doing damage, but you have to be ever so close to an opponent to actually see some results. Remeber, block, get you Spiritual Meter up, and use Kirara when you are able. _________________________________________________________________ 8.6 Name: Naraku Tier: Middle Air Dash: Yes Character Type: Cursed Pros: Good attack strength Nice range on his attacks His Super Special covers the whole groudn area Cons: His lag after some moves His Miasma is somewhat useless Moves List: Miasma: S Naraku is rises off the ground a bit and is encased in his purple Miasma. He shoots forward a little. Demon Puppet: B+S Naraku summons ne of his demon puppet to come and attack the opponent. The puppet appears and does a downward slash at the opponent doing a good amount of damage. If your opponent is close to you while doing this, the puppet's attack will totally miss. Poison Insects: Naraku holds up a beehive and 3 Poison insects come forth. They hover for a bit and the go towards the opponent. This is a great Special attack because it does 3 hits if all insects hit. Also, however many insects hit, is how many jewel shards you drop. Super Special: Illusory Death: D+D+S Naraku faces towards the screen and his hands turn into toots. The dig inot the ground and com up to strike the opponent. This is a very quick attack for a Super Special attack. This is a great suprise attack because you can't block standing, you must be defensive crouching to block it. Strategy: Naraku has a mix of techniques to handle almost any type of opponent. He has the ability to change up his styles and suprise any type of opponent. To start off, his Poisonous Insects are great projectiles and when they're blocked, you can play rush down on them. If you need all the health you can get, block and unleash your powerful combos you have up your sleeve. You also have the ability to destroy air attack opponents. Use your Miasma ability to guard against air attackers. Once they try fighting on the ground, release weak attacks and use your Illusory Death to suprise them. All this makes you q great all around character. Now remember that you don't have all the speed of the faster character. Don't worry, just block, and psyche your opponents into falling into your traps. Try going in an all out rushdown type of thing. If you are facing someone who doesn't really know that Naraku can deal a lot of damage if used correctly. Mainly, the only things you need to do when you are playing with Naraku is stay on the offensive. Try making you opponents come to you and give them the cold, steel blade from your Demon Puppet. Annoy them by using you Posionous Insects to build your Super Meter up, beat them down with your Strong Attacks. When they least expect it and make sure they don't go air-bourne, unleash your Super Special because it gets VERY annoying and it makes the opponent play harder than they can handle and gives you the upper hand! ^_^ _________________________________________________________________ 8.7 Name: Demon Inuyasha Tier: Top Air Dash: Yes Character Type:??? Someone please email thsi to me. I don't have my game with me today. I let a friend borrow it. Pros: The King of Cheesiness He is superbly fast He has a lot of power on his hands He has a lot of ranged ability His speed helps his hand to hand combat His hand to hand combat is very worthy of the Nobel Piece Prize Cons: He has somewhat lots of lag time after his blocked moves He can't switch his styles up very much Can you say long ranged attacks? Iron Reaver: S Demon Inuyasha does a very quick slash just like Inuyasha yet this is faster. It has a lot of range but you have to be in close to get the most out of this move. Charge: F+S Demon Inuyasha leans over in a hunched postion and rushes forward quickly. It's more a quick shoulder ram. This move is fast amd can be done repeatedly if the opponent doens't know when to block this move. This may be the move that you may want to abuse all of the time. The only bad thing about this is that it leaves him open for an attack when it's blocked. The opponent will drop one jewel shard(s) when hit with this move. Bite: D+S Inuyasha advances forward toward his opponent. If he makes contact with them then he will hold them and performs 3 bite attacks on them. Super Special: Demonic Power: B+B+S You'll have some problems executing this move because hitting back will cause you to go backwards a bit. Demon Inuyasha will have some light surround him and it expands quickly. It doesn't go out very far, but it's more of a defensive attack rather than an offensive one. Strategy: Demon Inuyasha is a fast and powerful character. He is one of the cheesiest characters in the game so to speak. You can do his charge attack over and over to keep your health high and theirs low. You have the ability to keep opponents from jumping at you with your attacks and you can punish their mistakes. Demon Inuyasha is definately not a clone of the orginal Inuyasha because he has no sword and he is much faster than his counterpart. His Iron Reaver move is deadly because you can do it over and over to keep suprising them with combos and you will also be dealing great amounts of damage. If you seem to find yourself losing you match, stay on the defensive and attack every chance you get. Demon Inuyasha's Demon Power attack is best used on jump in opponents or air dashing opponents because it may be hard for it to connect with it if you haven't mastered using it. _________________________________________________________________ 8.8 Name: Kikyo Tier: Top Air Dash: No Character Type: Neutral Pros: THE BEST LONG RANGE CHARACTER IN THE GAME A combo fiend Easily plays the best keep away A powerful character She can also be a great evasive character Her strong attacks have awsome range She has a bt of air dominance Almost as good as Sango in Poisonous Insects Mini Game Cons: Poor Foot Speed Close Range Combat could be better Moves List: Purification: S Kikyo launches 3 soul snatchers in a horizontal pattern. The come out at different times though. This can hit up to 5 times giving you a good rang, power, and it has almost no lag time during this move. Ascension: F+S Kikyo holds out her hand and a Soul Snatcher runs across the ground. It hits in all directions and does a lot of damage for a projectile attack. It has little recovery time and is best used as a suprise attack. Curse Deflection: B+S Kikyo does the same thing as Kagome does. Except, Kikyo holds her hands in prayer, chants, and then she lets out the light surrounding her. If she comes in contact with the opponent, the opponentb will fly across the screen and do a lot of damage. This will make an opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Super Special: Sacred Arrow: D+D+S This is the same as Kagome's Sacred Arrow. This arrow is pink instead of blue and it travels at a faster pace than her counterparts. This will hit ducking opponents, so don't expect to duck under this. This has almost no lag time when done. Strategy: Kikyo is the mastet or projectiles. Her 2 main styles of fighting is to launch projectiles and ruhs down. Launching her strong attacks, she will be able to keep you away from her and her Purification is a suprising move which does a great deal of damage. She also has her Ascension move to cover ground attacks. Her weak attacks aren't really worth using but, since she has poor foot speed, you may want to use it. Her Super Special is a force to be reconned with because it travels so fast you may not even be expecting it. Her crouching strong attacks are her specialty because she is like shippou but stronger and her range with them is awsome. Using all of her strong attacks with her Ascension makes Kikyo a force to be reconned with. Her combos are mainly easy to do because all you have to do is end them with her Purification to give them up to a 3 combos hit. Her standing strong has relatively good reach, maybe a little bit more than Mirokus, but it take a while to disappear once it's released, so make sure your opponent won't block and you are very well in range. Kikyo's weak attacks shouldn't be used much beause unlike Kagome's bow, her's lacks range and it may be swift but it doesn't pack a punch for a good Kikyo player. _________________________________________________________________ 8.9 Name: Kagura Tier: Lower Air Dash: Yes Character Type: Cursed Pros: Queen of Air Dominance Quick Weak and Strong Attacks Very Mobile Very Durable Cons: Her lag time Her power rating Her recovery time Her speed of her attacks She's predictable Her Super just doens't cut it She's supposed to be a long ranged character but she can't do it Moves List: Dance of Blades: S Kagura raises does a swipe and a "blade" of wind shaped like a circle appears and goes toward the opponent. It travels at a moderate pace and does a very good amountof damage for her attacks. It can also be performed in the air to keep her in the air! It will surely suprise opponents who love to jump in and go on an all out assault. Dance of the Dead: B+S Kagura makes a samauri appear and it does a quick slash. If you are close to Kagura, it will miss and she will be left open to attacks because she is laughing while the move is being performed. Kanna: D+S Kagura make Kanna appear in front of her and she is holding her mirror. She then makes a light come out of the mirror. It damage the opponent for a good amount of damage. Like Naraku's move, if you're standing close to the opponent then this attack will miss. Like her Dance of the Dead, she is chuckling being her minion and she can surely be attacked by the opponent. This attack will make the opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Super Special: Dragon Dance: F+F+S Kagura draws a circle with her fan and a cyclone appears. It covers the whole screen and travels across it. You muct block this attack and it only hits once. It doesn't travel very fast and can easily be seen comning. Use it after you have counter guarded. Strategy: Ugh, Kagura isn't a very good character when it comes right down to it. She is a durable lady though. She owns the air as usual. Just jump and do her Dance of Blades attack to see how long she stays in the air. She can also air dash and her attacks have a good range, but she lacks recovery time. She plays best as a defensive character, blocking attacks and waiting for an opening. She does poorly against a fast character like Miroku or Demon Inuyasha because she doesn't have the fast attacks to chip their health away. Her combos are okay buy you'll mostly be using her weak attacks because that is mainly one of the only things she will excell at. Just remeber, you aren't a powerhouse and you aren't a speed demon, and you need to wait for an opening to attack. Kagura's Dragon Dance isn't as good as it seems. It mainly should be used to catch jump in opponents because they won't be expecting it. It covers the whole screen and works it's way over to the opposite side of the screen and it only hits once! So your opponent can block that one hit and start attacking again. You also have a great projectile, Dance of Blades. Don't use it to much, only when you really need to stop that Charging Demon Inuyasha or Koga's super fast footspeed. Kagura is mainly a defensive character and should be played in that way. _________________________________________________________________ 8.10 Name: Koga Tier: Upper Air Dash: Yes Character Type: Purified Pros: Has the best speed among ALL characters He has no lag time in his moves He can easily eat away at your health meter His Super Special also has little to no lag time His attacks are strong, not as strong as Inuyasha's though He has many suprising attacks Cons: He may not be able to cut it at keep away His footspeed may be good but you have NO long range attacks Once your Wolf Kick is blocked, you're left open He has lots of recovery time after blocked special attacks Moves: Wolf Kick: S Koga jumps in the air and does a quick kick towards the opponent. This does a lot of damage for just a special move, it has a lot of recovery time if blocked. Dmemon Kick: B+S Koga does somewhat of a flip towards the opponent and rises in the air. If he hits an opponent, he will knock them into the air and then will kick them to the ground. Wolf Wind: F+S Like Demon Inuyasha's charging move, Koga can do it to. You can cheese with this move by doing it over and over. Koga will rush towards the opponent and a tornando is somewhat around him, and he does a shoulder ram towards the opponent. Your opponent will drop a jewel shard if hit with this move. Super Special: Demon Pack: D+D+S Koga raises his arm and points toward the opponent and a pack of wolves rush at the oppoenent. Koga stays in this postition until the entire wolf pack has run across the screen. The wolf [ack does 9 hits an is pretty long so you will be blocking for a while. Strategy: Koga masters speed. He's faster than Demon Inuyasha and Kagome. He uses fast attacks and his cheese moves to get his damage done. You can keep using your Wolf Wind over and over on an opponent to get in a lot of damage. If they block then you should be worried because you will stay in that charging position for a few moments and the opponent is very much liable to attack you. All of his attacks do a lot of damage. You mainly want to end you combos with 2 Wolf Winds to decrease the opponents health meter by a lot. His Super Special mainly should be used when the opponent stops blocking. The pack still does damage even if blocked, just not as much if it weren't blocked. It suprises opponents and if they jump, they will have to stay in the air a long time to avoid it. Kagura may be able to do this if you can time her Dance of Blades at the right moment to keep her in the air and when she lands, the attack will be over. His Wolf Kick has more priority than his Demon kick. The Demon kick starts up quicker but the Wolf kick isn't as predictable and does a good amount of damage. A good strategy is to counter you opponents attacks and wait for them to slip up. If they don't slip up, go on an all out assault of your weak attacks, specials, and your throw. The reason I didn't include his strong attacks is because the weak attacks have more range than the strong ones and have enough power ro keep you satisfied. Koga is a good character for all out assaults or countering opponents mistakes. _________________________________________________________________ 8.11 Name: Shippo Tier: Lower, Upper Air Dash: Yes Character Type: Purified Pros: He is short so your most of your opponents attack will miss You can use your crouch to evade most moves You have a good amount of speed You are the best evasive character in the game You can be any character in the game Cons: Your transformation has it's own con (explained later) You don't rack up a lot of damage You have poor reach Projectle characters will kill you You have no long range attacks Your combos aren't all that powerful Moves List: Multiply: S Shippo ducks a it and 3 copies of yourself lash out at the opponent. It dones' have good reach but it does up to 9 hits if you are close to the opponent. Fox Fire: B+S This is somewhat like Naraku's Miasma move. Shippo is surround by a blue falme and advances forward a little. This is hard to connect with because it has little range. This will make the opponent drop one jewel shard. Transform: D+S This is Shippou's best move. He transform into the opposing character. There is a tiny mushroom above your head and you have the same moves of you opponent. If you are hit with the opponents Special Attack, you will transform back into Shippou. If the opponent switches characters, you will trnasform back into Shippo. There is no way to manually transform back into yourself. If you are fighting another Shippou then you will transform into Shippou but in their costume color. Super Special: Illusory Top: F+F+S Shippou throws a small top at the opponent. It goes by very fast but you can it coming becase Shippou jumps in the air a bit more than usual. If the top connects, a giant top will appear on your head, give you 9 hits of damage, and disappear. This does the same amount as everyone's Super Special. Strategy: >_> As you can see, Shippou has no Pros that deal deal with attacking. He is the Servbot from Marvel vs Capcom 2. He is so short, most of your attacks will miss and you need to crouch to deal damage against him. If you are Kikyo, you can launch Purifications left and right and destroy Shippo. You need a lot of practice to master Shippou because he doesn't have many strong attacks. His Super Specialc comes out relatively fast for him. He can get around the screen and may not even need to block some attacks like Miroku's Spirit Ward and Koga's Wolf Kick because he can crouch and you'll sail right over him. If you are playing against a keep away charcter, you'll have many problems because you lack range and most keep away characters will use all of their tactics to KO you. You don't have enough power to get around and win tons of matches against a good player. That's why you have a move that comes in handy, your Transformarion move. This move is a Double Edged Sword because you will transform into the opposing character. This may also be a bad thing because you may not be able to use that character and all they have to do is hit you with one of their Special Attacks and you're finished. So mainly, you want to stay in close dealing CROUCHING strong attacks rather than do you standing ones. When your Spiritual Meter is full, you are able to quickly launch your Illusory Top and hopefully you can rush in and finish them with a 5-8 hit combo. To use him effectively, you must evade lots of attacks and counter theirs. _________________________________________________________________ 8.12 Name:Totosai Tier: Middle Air Dash: Yes Charater Type: Neutral Pros: Your range with your strong attacks You have a bit of speed for an old man Your Special attacks have a good amount of range You have lots of suprise attacks Cons: Your attacks can be seen coming a mile away You have a bad lag time before you moves start up You fighting is predictable Your opponents can out run you Specials Moves: Fire Breath: S Totosai jumps in the air and blows fire from his mouth. Like Naraku and Shippo's attacks, you advance forward a little. Giant Hammer: B+S Totosai slams his hammer on the ground and a bit of lava splashes out. The lava is what you should be worried about because that is what hits you. The hammer doesn't. This will make the opponent drop their jewel shard(s). Mo Mo Drop: D+S Totosai points at the opponent. A lighting bolt will strike the opponent exaxtly where he/she is standing and a cow, Mo Mo, will appear on top of you. You must get out of the way before the lighting bolt strikes your position. The lighting does no damage, the cow does. Super Special: Super Hammer: F+F+S Like his Giant Hammer, he strikes the ground. The hammer can NOW do damage if you are hit and wherever you are standing is where the lava will rise from the ground and hit you. Strategy: Totosai is a strange old man. He is the most balanced character in the game. He can't play keep away because he has no projectile attacks and most of his Special Attacks are indirect, meaning that he doesn't do damage, something else does. Totosai's standing strong attack with a LOT of reach. This makes him a good character from far away. Not very far, but enough to keep your opponent back. If an opponent bombards you with projectile attacks, you can use your Mo Mo Drop to smack them exactly when they do it. His Fire Breath shouldn't be used very much because it'll take about half a second before you actually breath the fire and it has poor range. To really annoy your opponent, stay in close and use your weak attacks, get some distance, keep doing the Mo Mom Drop, and the hit them with you Strong attacks because they have a LOT of range and Power. He doesn't get around very well, so if you opponent is far from you, then just jump and air dash towards them and hit them with a mix of weak attacks and Strong attacks. Totosai is a good character for mix ups but shouldn't be used to rushdown opponents. _________________________________________________________________ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 9. Shards ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Maybe you have noticed a charcter's type. This means which type of shards the opponent is able to pick up. If you pick up a shard that you aren't compatible with, you will take some damage. The list at the bottom tells you about your type of character. It will take about a second before the shards turns to the neutral color and then you are able to pick it up. Why Do I Need Shards? They help build up you Special Meter by 1/3. Where Do I Get Them? Each character you pick has a certain amount of shards. 4 is the most you can have. Not all character have them. If you don't have any, use your move that makes you opponent drop their shard. Purified Character 1. CAN pick up Purified and Neutral Shards. 2. CANNOT pick up cursed shards. 3. Their shards are blue. Neural Character 1. CAN pick up all 3 types of shards. 2. Their shards are purple. Cursed Character 1. CAN pick up Cursed and Neutral shards. 2. CANNOT pick up Purified Shards. 3. Their shards are a dark red. Even picking up a shard you dropped will increase your Spiritual Meter. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 10. Mini Games ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ I will describe the Mini Games in a broader detail. I will list the objective and some of the characters that do good for this mini game and why they do so well. I will tell you which attacks are best used for that
character. Some character will have the same strategy because they don't
have moves that are very good for that mini game.

___________________________________________________________________________

11.1

Poisonous Insects!!
Objective: Destroy all 45 of the poisonous insects flying around!
Great characters to use: Sango, Kikyo
Description:
Poisonous Insects are all flying around. They come at various speeds.
Some insects come low meaning you will have to use a crouching attack
to hit them. The ones that come in mid, you have to use a standing attack.
For the ones that come in high, jump and attack. This will take some time
getting used to but you will soon get the hang of it. If you are hit by an
insect, you will be vunerable for 3 seconds. Some of them may carry a blue
or or Shippo and you will need to hit the insect carry it or you will lose
5 seconds to destroy the rest of the insects.
Use Sango's Hiraikotsu move to hit ALL insects, even when the
boomerang returns back to you. When your meter is full, use Kirara, your
Super Special, to hit all insects coming toward you. Finally, Sango has
SOME use.
Kikyo does well, but not as good as Sango. Her Purification will
hit mostly all of the insects. Her Ascension can deal with the low insects
and some of the ones that come in mid. Do NOT use her or Kagome's Super
Special because it will only destroy ONE insect.

11.2

Flame Slashing
Objectives: Hit Jaken when he is vunerable before time tuns out.
Great Characters to use: Kikyo
Description:
Jaken will be making a giant flame. You must destroy the
flame. Once you destroy the flame, Jaken is left open for a second and
you will need to hit him before he uses the flame. If you are hit with the
flame, you will be vunerable and waste time and be hit repeatedly,
Kiko's Purification does a great job here. When you have destroyed
the flame, use Ascension to knock Jaken down and finish the Mini Game.

11.3

Rock Smashing
Objectives: Destroy the big boulder before time runs out.
Great Characters to use: Kikyo, Koga
Description:
A Giant Bould is sitting right in front of you. You will have to
destroy all 4 portions of the rock with your attacks. Once one side is
destroyed, jump to the other side and you will have to destroy that part.
Kikyo's Purification again is great to use. Just keep using it
and finish with her Super Special.
Koga works well because of his quick attacks. Keep using your
Wolf Kick and Wolf Wind to chip away at the rock. Your Super Special
Demon Wolf Pack will deal a LOT of damage to the rock.
