Object The Object of the game is to go for the high score by making your frog jump off of the lillypad and eat the insects that pass by. Theres different difficulty settings to make it harder or easier. II. Visual Settings -There is 2 different visual settings of the game. Night and day. Both night AND day games last 3 minutes. Night - Night is where you can play at night. The bugs are harder to see because they are black on black! They flash however, like lightning bugs so you can see them. Night is harder then the daytime. Night ends when the stars come out and the moon goes down. Day - Day is where you can play during the day and twilight. This setting is easier to play because the bugs are black on blue. Day ends after the sky gets pink and then turns black with stars. III. Skill Levels -You can change your skill levels in-game. They both start out as easy and you can change them to medium and hard. Easy(FIXED ARC) - Easy is when the frog will jump in a fixed arc (half circle) every time. The computer will control when you stick your tongue out. Medium(DIR) - You control what direction your frog jumps. The computer still decides when you stick your tongue out. Hard(DIR + TONGUE) - You control what direction your frog jumps AND when you stick your tongue out. To stick your tongue out, you use the side action buttons. IV. Controls -Heres a rough sketch of what your controler looks like. _________________ | | FROG BOG | | | |_____________| | | | O C | | @| | | |@ | | | | | | | | @| | | |@ | | FA DIR DT | | | |_____________| | | | | ____ | | / \ | | | J | | | \____/ | |_________________| @ = Action Buttons O = Day C = Night FA = FIXED ARC (Easy) DIR = DIRECTION (Medium) DT = DIR + TONGUE (Hard) J = Jump V. Scoring There are 4 different kinds of bugs you can eat. I will try and illustrate them for you. @@@@ @^^^^@ @^^^^^@@ @^^^^@@@@@ @^^@@^^@@@ @^^@@@@ @@@@ @ @@@ This is what I will call a moth. It is worh 5 points and is the easiest bug to eat. He usually flies in a strait line and doesnt change direction. ## ## ################# ########### #####~~~~~~## ##~~~###### ### This is what I will call a cricket. It is worth 10 points. It is the second easiest bug to eat. It flies in relativly strait and doesnt change direction often. ## ## ##``## ##``## ####``##``#### ##``######``## ##``##``## ######## ##############``## ## This is what I will call a dragonfly. It is worth 15 points. It is the second hardest bug to eat. This one Flies faster and changes direction more then the above bugs. #### #### ##()## ##()## ########## ## This is what I will call a mosquito. It's worth 35 points. It's the hardest bug to eat. They fly faster and change direction more then the other bugs. VI. Other Notes -How far you jump depends on how long you hold the Direction Disk. If you just lightly touch the disk, he will jump short. If you hold it down, it will jump longer. -If your frog jumps off the lillypad into the water, your frog must swim back to the lillypad before he can jump again. -You can see your score by looking at the numbers at the top of the screen. -If you are in 2-Player mode and your frog isnt jumped for at least 20 seconds, the computer takes over that frog and plays for you. -To get a 1-Player mode, just dont jump the 2nd player frog for at least 10 seconds at the beginning of a game.
