Well, I hadn't updated my previous FAQs for several months, so I decided to... well.....
update them. I had received plenty of contributions, but after a while they were a bit
repetitious (that was my fault). I gave credit to all who sent me information, but for
once, this FAQ I essentially did on my own. I started from scratch and took all my high
level (level 100) characters and went out on a rampage over the world of Final Fantasy 8
in order to collect items. As I gathered them I checked them out with the Ability Menus
and began filling out the sheet. (The reason I started over was that there were several
mistakes in the Items List.) It took me the entire day to write this out (I though it
would have taken more, but I noticed I had plenty of items from all the monsters that I
had defeated.
Not to sound rude, but I doubt this information is wrong, HOWEVER, if you find anything
in the FAQ that is missing or incorrect, BY ALL MEANS TELL ME, and I will correct it. I
know I am not perfect, so I could have switched things around by accident. But Note one
thing: There is information in the Tutorial > Information > Ability > Menu section that
is wrong, which is in part the reason why I wrote this FAQ. Allow me to illustrate my
point: Check under the "GFAbl Med-RF" section and you may notice that it clearly states
that in order to make a Phoenix Spirit you need 20 Phoenix Downs, but in reality to make
this item you need 20 Phoenix PINIONS, which is QUITE different.
Oh well, enough ranting on my part, enjoy the FAQ and help out any way you can.

RARE ITEM LOCATIONS:
( Feel free to modify SOME rare cards. When you reach the end of the third disc, on the
White Seed, you can play the members of the Card Club to regain any rare cards that you
lost due to the "Card Mod" ability. Also, if you lose a card at any time, it still is
in your card log, so as long as you've held every card at one time or another, you will
complete the collection. **However, DO NOT modify the cards needed for the Card Queen
Quest at Dollet until you lost it to her, gained the new card, and regained it from her
son in Dollet. Cards that fall under this category will have a "(CQ)" by them.)

** The higher the character's level, the better the chances of a
successful attempt and the greater the possiblity of acquiring more
than one item (EXCEPTION: BOSS BATTLES!!!)
** Magical Stones (ex: Ultima Stone, Aura Stone, Shell Stone,etc.) can
be found randomly at the 6 Chocobo Forests (small round forested
areas on the World Map). After solving the puzzle and getting the
Chocobo, use the ChocoSonar to find the spot with the highest
frequency. Then use the ChocoZiner to make the Chocobo dig in that
spot. It will unearth two or three of these stones.
** With ratios (X:Y) having to do with the "Card Mod" ability, The 1st
value "X" is the amount of card(s) needed, and the 2nd "Y" value is
the amount of item(s) produced. Simply, the item REQUIRED appears
first, and the item PRODUCED appears second in the pair.
** In order to find the items at the Lunatic Pandora, as Laguna
patrolling Esthar (DISC 1), you MUST have used the detonator.
Click on the switch for the farther boulder first (BIG EXPLOSION)
and then click on the switch for the closer one. ALSO, in order to
explore the Lunatic Pandora completely (DISC 3) you must board it
at the FIRST possible place (Center of Esthar City). Simply use
the "Enc-None" ability and be there in less than 5 minutes.

VERSION INFO:
v1.00 (23-Sept-99) -- First version released. Very shabby since I had
the inspiration, yet I lacked the written list. I
basically wrote it from memory.
v1.20 (24-Sept-99) -- Spent all morning writing up a list (of the items
which I knew their uses) and finally wrote it down
in ".txt" format. It's a small list, yet I hope
that through future contributions it will grow. I
would ESPECIALLY like information on items that
can only be acquired through the Pocketstation
Mini-game "Chocobo World", since I am unable to
buy a Pocketstation at the moment (no money to
