Digimon Rumble Arena Combo FAQ by Captain K. (shibakev@earthlink.net) Copyright 2002 At this time this FAQ has only been given to www.gamefaqs.com and nowhere else. If you would like to post this FAQ at another website or in a publication, please contact the author first for permission. This is not a movelist, for that you can read Skoban's FAQ, which can also be found at Gamefaqs. 03-01-2002 version 1.0 1. Reading this FAQ. S = the Square button C = the Circle button T = the Triangle button R1 = the R1 button (digivolve/GC attack) forward = push the direction pad towards the opponent pause = wait about half a second before you press the next button (X hits) = the expected number of hits. This may vary based on the size of the opponent you face (especially with moves like Diamond Storm) 2. Combo ranges. There are three ranges combos can be performed at: close, medium, and long. Close range is the area that your normal S attacks would hit. Medium range is a bit farther, about where Patamon's Slamming Attack, or Gatomon's Cat's Eye Hypnotism reach. Long range is way across the screen. These aren't exact measurements due to the scrolling nature of the screen, but you get the idea. If a range is not listed for a combo, it's close range only. 3. Combos not listed. Not all simple combos are listed. These include the Up+S attacks, which for most characters can be followed up with any other S attack. For example, you can do Up+S, then another Up+S when the opponent falls back down for a second hit. The game usually limits you to two attacks in this situation, but sometimes you can get a third, especially if you have your opponent trapped against a wall. I also have not included jump-in attacks. As a general rule assume that you can jump and do an S attack on a ground opponent and that you can follow that up with any other close range combo. The jump-in will add an extra hit in this case. Finally, I have only listed combos that register on the combo meter. There are some attacks that are unblockable in certain situations. For example, Impmon can throw his opponent to dizzy them, then digivolve and hit them with a Chaos Flare. Likewise, Magnadramon's Apocalypse will hit an opponent that has just been knocked down to the ground. However, neither of these register on the combo gauge, so they haven't been included. 4. Pausing between attacks When you press the S button multiple times, the computer assumes you're doing an S, S, S attack. Even if you press S, S, Up+S, you'll still just get the S, S, S result. So to link in the Up+S, you have to pause for half a second after the second S. This breaks the S, S, S loop that the computer thinks you're in, and you can then do an Up+S. Not all characters can get combos by linking this way. At this time I haven't explored all the possibilities of these; hopefully I'll have them figured out by the next FAQ update. I assume that some characters can also link in a down+S attack as well, but I haven't tried it. 5.
