Battle Hunter for Playstation Gameshark Guide (U.S. Version) ------------------------------ by Lutepin Lutepin@rocketmail.com ------------------------------ Contents: 1H) Intro & Important Note 2H) Name 3H) Character 4H) Stats 5H) Identification Code Note 6H) Inventory 7H) HP Codes 8H) "Record" Stats 9H) Credits 10H) In-Mission Card Hand 11H) Super Character Code 12H) Closing Statements 1H) Intro: This is my first Gameshark guide. I like Battle Hunter a lot, and saw that Gameshark codes were basically non-existant for this game, so I threw together this document here. I only have codes that affect Player 1 (the blue player slot), and this is for a couple reasons: 1) Writing codes for each player would be extremely redundant and repetitive, not to mention take much more time to jot down understandably. 2) All of these codes should be able to be saved to a memory card and used later withOUT the Gameshark (I haven't tested them all), except the in-mission card hand code. For all other codes, you can hack one character at a time, save them, and use them later, or use them together in a multiplayer game! Be careful that you don't save something you don't want. Important Note: As long as your Gameshark codes are on, any values entered for the codes will STAY that value. So for example, if you enter a Credits code and leave it on, you cannot gain or lose credits until either you turn the codes off or save your game and load it later, without the Gameshark active. 2H) Name Codes: * For name changes to take effect: 1) load a character in the Player 1 slot 2) Save the character, then send them to the Inn 3) Load the character again. In the character list, you should see their new name. Player 1 Name: * Use the digits in the "Letters" section for xxxx. * Use 0000 in place of xxxx for unused space after the name. 800CF990 xxxx - First Letter 800CF992 xxxx - Second Letter 800CF994 xxxx - Third Letter 800CF996 xxxx - Fourth Letter 800CF998 xxxx - Fifth Letter 800CF99A xxxx - Sixth Letter 800CF99C xxxx - Seventh Letter Letters: 4081: [space] 6082: A 7082: Q 4F82: 0 6182: B 7182: R 5082: 1 6282: C 7282: S 5182: 2 6382: D 7382: T 5282: 3 6482: E 7482: U 5382: 4 6582: F 7582: V 5482: 5 6682: G 7682: W 5582: 6 6782: H 7782: X 5682: 7 6882: I 7882: Y 5782: 8 6982: J 7982: Z 5882: 9 6A82: K 9581: & 5B81: - [dash] 6B82: L 9381: % 4581: [dot] 6C82: M 4881: ? 4481: . 6D82: N 4981: ! 4181: , 6E82: O 3436:[heart] 7B81: + 6F82: P * The + symbol is not normally accessible for names. It is also possible to use a variety of other characters with a Gameshark, like lower-case letters and other symbols (even Japanese ones), but that would take far more time for me to map out, and honestly just wouldn't be all that cool. 3H) Character: * Use the Character list to fill in xx with your desired character. * This code is great. With it, you can change your character to any character in the game, even Vikeif, Shuichi, and B PHS! * If you change a character to Vikeif or Shuichi, that character will keep their orginal name. Also, you will lose control of where your stat points go on level up :(. For a custom Vikeif/Shuichi character, just level a character to 15 first, then change them into your desired character. * Changing a character to B PHS, while awesome, has some graphical glitches. The picture in the save slot and in the status screen will be inaccurate (B PHS were not programmed to be selectable). However, once in-mission the character will be B PHS. They even work correctly in the results screen! 800CF99E xx00 - Player 1's Character Character List: * I know the characters have standard names, but for coherence, I made up descriptive names so you know who each character is. * The colors in parentheses are some of the main colors in that palette, and they are generally listed in this order: hair color, primary clothes color, secondary color (if necessary). 00: Vest Dude, palette 1 (red-orange, brown, blue) 10: Vest Dude, palette 2 (black, blue, red-orange) 20: Vest Dude, palette 3 (brown, orange, green) 30: Vest Dude, palette 4 (green, brown, red-orange) 40: Vest Dude, palette 5 (purple, cyan, green) 50: Vest Dude, palette 6 (yellow, red, lite blue) 60: Vest Dude, palette 7 (white, blue, black) 70: Vest Dude, palette 8 (black, brown, blue) 01: Shotgun Girl, palette 1 (Yellow, blue) 11: Shotgun Girl, palette 2 (Blue) 21: Shotgun Girl, palette 3 (yellow, orange) 31: Shotgun Girl, palette 4 (red, green) 41: Shotgun Girl, palette 5 (blue, green) 51: Shotgun Girl, palette 6 (lite green, red) 61: Shotgun Girl, palette 7 (white, black) 71: Shotgun Girl, palette 8 (black) 02: Sword Guy, palette 1 (brown, beige) 12: Sword Guy, palette 2 (red-orange, blue) 22: Sword Guy, palette 3 (blue, red-orange) 32: Sword Guy, palette 4 (cyan, green) 42: Sword Guy, palette 5 (black, yellow) 52: Sword Guy, palette 6 (yellow, brown) 62: Sword Guy, palette 7 (white, black) 72: Sword Guy, palette 8 (black) 03: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 1 (pink, brown) 13: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 2 (red, purple) 23: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 3 (yellow, red) 33: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 4 (black, green) 43: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 5 (green, blue) 53: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 6 (pink, beige) 63: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 7 (blue, black) 73: Cap/Kick Girl, palette 8 (white, brown) 04: Armored Guy, palette 1 (yellow, purple) 14: Armored Guy, palette 2 (orange, blue) 24: Armored Guy, palette 3 (green, red) 34: Armored Guy, palette 4 (orange, green) 44: Armored Guy, palette 5 (brown, yellow) 54: Armored Guy, palette 6 (purple, pink) 64: Armored Guy, palette 7 (orange, white) 74: Armored Guy, palette 8 (blue, black) 05: Army Girl, palette 1 (yellow, green) 15: Army Girl, palette 2 (purple, blue) 25: Army Girl, palette 3 (yellow, red) 35: Army Girl, palette 4 (red-orange, gray) 45: Army Girl, palette 5 (blue, beige) 55: Army Girl, palette 6 (red-orange, dull blue) 65: Army Girl, palette 7 (white, brown) 75: Army Girl, palette 8 (black, dark red) 06: Mohawk Man, palette 1 (green, gray, black) 16: Mohawk Man, palette 2 (yellow, gray, blue) 26: Mohawk Man, palette 3 (blue, blue-gray, red) 36: Mohawk Man, palette 4 (pink, yellow, green) 46: Mohawk Man, palette 5 (blue, yellow, black) 56: Mohawk Man, palette 6 (red, gray, brown) 66: Mohawk Man, palette 7 (yellow, red, white) 76: Mohawk Man, palette 8 (white, gray, red) 07: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 1 (green, red) 17: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 2 (yellow, blue) 27: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 3 (white, brown) 37: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 4 (yellow, green) 47: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 5 (blue, black) 57: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 6 (red, purple) 67: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 7 (purple, white) 77: Akimbo/Hat Guy, palette 8 (white, black) 08: VIKEIF (Valkief), only palette 09: SHUICHI, only palette 0A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 1 (Yellow, Green) 1A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 2 (periwinkle, red-orange) 2A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 3 (Red, Turquoise) 3A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 4 (White, Blue) 4A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 5 (lite yellow, pink-purple) 5A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 6 (Red, Yellow) 6A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 7 (Blue, White) 7A: B PHS (won't appear out-of-missions) palette 8 (lite yellow, black) 4H) Player 1 Stats: * This code is powerful: you can edit your character's stats! * If you want to stay within the 15-level limit, I recommend using a credits code (later in this guide) and simply purchasing all of your levels as you normally would. * Battle Hunter automatically detects your character's level based on how many stat points that character has distributed. This means that if you give yourself more stats than are normally possible (i.e. a total of 26 points: 1 in each stat at ceation, 11 to distribute at Lv.1/creation, then 14 more as you level; 1+11+14=26), you CAN exceed Lv. 15! * Giving yourself crazy stats and having your character at above level 15 or at 20, 30, 40 and so on leads to glitches. It seems that the more you exceed normal stats, the more likelyhood that the game can crash. As long as each of your stats stay within the normal 26-point max, you should be okay. (All stats at 26 is level 90! woah.) 800CF9A0 mmhh - Player 1 Movement and HP stat points 800CF9A2 ddaa - Player 1 Defense and Attack stat points * mm = move, hh = HP, dd = defense, aa = attack. These can be any 2-digit hexadecimal numbers. If you don't understand hexadecimal, then look at the example below. * When changing HP points, you may find that your current HP is still the same. This is because Current/Max HP is saved separately from HP stat points. You'll need to go to the Nurse with plenty of Credits to get your life up to its total. Check out the HP codes later in the guide. * Remember that this will change the number of stat points distributed for these stats, NOT change them directly. So, putting 08 for mm won't give you Move +8, it will put 8 stat points into move, giving you Move +2. EXAMPLE: To give a character the following stats: 5 move points, 1 attack point, 2 defense points, and 16 HP points (making them level 10), you would enter this code: 800CF9A0 0510 - 05 points in move, 16 points in HP (10 = 16 in hex) 800CF9A2 0201 - 02 points in Defense, 01 point in Attack EXAMPLE: To give a character the following stats: 10 move points, 6 attack points, 34 defense points, and 18 HP points (making them level 54), you would enter this code: (12 = 18 in hex) 800CF9A0 0A12 - 10 points in move (0A = 10 in hex), 18 points in HP 800CF9A2 2206 - 34 points in Defense (22 = 34 in hex), 06 points in AT some basic Hex numbers: * Hex uses the basic numerical characters 0-9, but also A-F. 05 (equals 5 in-game) 08 (equals 8) 0A (equals 10) 0C (equals 13) 0F (equals 15) 10 (equals 16) 14 (equals 20) 1A (equals 26, the normal max for a stat in Battle Hunter) B3 (equals 179) FF (equals 255, the largest 2-digit hex number) If you want specific stats, try using the calculator in Windows, and enter a number in "dec" mode, then switch to "hex" mode to see what you would enter in a Gameshark code. 5H) Identification Code Note: It is possible to assemble a code that makes your item collection 100% complete, but each item's identified status is kept in a different address in the game's RAM. This means that a 100% identified code would need 50 lines of Gameshark Codes (each code can write to 2 bytes)! While not unheard of, it's too much work for me to map out and explain every slot. If you want items identified, give them to yourself using the Inventory code, along with some Credits (if you don't have any) and identify the items you want to use. 6H) Inventory: * These codes let you customize what items are in your inventory! * Use the Item List below to insert numbers for gg, hh, ii, jj, kk, and ll. * This applies to player 1. * Remember that you must have an item identified in order to get its effects! 800CFA08 hhgg - hh is slot 2, gg is slot 1 800CFA0A jjii - jj is slot 4, ii is slot 3 800CFA0C llkk - ll is slot 6, kk is slot 5 Item List: 00: Scrap 01: Silver 02: Gold 03: Platinum 04: Controller 05: Sensor A 06: Sensor B 07: Sensor C 08: Sensor D 09: Sensor E 0A: Actuator X 0B: Generator 0C: Unit X 0D: Disc 1 0E: Disc 2 0F: Disc 3 10: Disc 4 11: Disc 5 12: Disc 6 13: Disc 7 14: Disc 8 15: Disc 9 16: Disc 10 17: Disc 11 18: Disc 12 19: Disc 13 1A: Disc 14 1B: Disc 15 1C: Chip 1D: Universe 1E: Earth 1F: Religion 20: Foods 21: Games 22: Folklores 23: Warfare 24: Defending 25: Travel 26: Garnet 27: Amethyst 28: Aquamarine 29: Diamond 2A: Emerald 2B: Pearl 2C: Ruby 2D: Jade 2E: Sapphire 2F: Opal 30: Topaz 31: Turquiose 32: Cursed Gem 33: Fear Stone 34: Dark Gem 35: Silver Ring 36: Gold Ring 37: Black Gem 38: Amulet 39: "Angle" Wing 3A: Medicine 3B: Crutch 3C: Releaser 3D: Bottle 3E: Soda 3F: Juice 40: Cider 41: Fragrance 42: Vase 43: Wood Doll 44: Porcelain 45: Figurine 46: Vintage 47: Coin 48: Dollhouse 49: Painting 4A: Sun Dress 4B: Dress 4C: Dark Dress 4D: Dark Pants 4E: Jumpsuit 4F: Trenchcoat 50: Body Armor 51: Full Armor 52: Cap 53: Helmet 54: Handgun SS 55: Handgun MS 56: Handgun LS 57: Wargun SS 58: Wargun MS 59: Wargun LS 5A: Shotgun SS 5B: Shotgun MS 5C: Shotgun LS 5D: Glove 5E: War Glove 5F: Claw 60: Knife 61: Sword 62: Long Sword 63: Buster 7H) HP Codes Current/Max HP: * This is seperate from the stat points that are put into HP, because of the half-Max HP thing when you die. * Just like the stat codes, any 2-digit hexadecimal number will work here. * The game can only display the last 2 digits of HP. The highest normal HP you can have is 99. The game can technically handle up to 255 HP, but it will only show the tens and ones digits. * This affects Player 1. 800CFA0E mmkk - mm is max HP, kk is current HP Total HP: * This changes the Total HP available for the character. * If the number you put in is higher than the character's current HP, you'll have to visit the Nurse! Or, use a Max/Current HP code with the same number. * If the number is less than the character's Max/Current HP, and you haven't used the Max/Current HP code to match this one, there won't be a change. 800CFA20 FFxx - Total HP for Player 1. Samples: 800CFA20 FF32 - 50 Total HP for Player 1 800CFA20 FF55 - 85 Total HP for Player 1 800CFA20 FF63 - 99 Total HP for Player 1 8H) "Record" Stats: * Yes, you can hack how many times you've won. Satisfaction not guaranteed! * Each stat here has 2 bytes, which means you can have up to 65,535 for each place! * For player 1. 800CFA10 xxxx - 1st Place count 800CFA12 xxxx - 2nd Place count 800CFA14 xxxx - 3rd Place count 800CFA16 xxxx - 4th Place count Examples: 800CFA10 0001 gives you one 1st place win 800CFA10 0064 gives you 100 1st place wins 800CFA10 00FF gives you 255 1st place wins 800CFA10 8888 gives you 34,952 1st place wins 800CFA10 FFFF gives you 65,535 1st place wins 9H) Credits: * Give yourself money with this code. A good code. * Once again, this code affects only player 1. 800CFA18 xxxx - lower bytes 800CFA1A 00xx - high byte * The most credits you can have is 9,999,999 * I'll save you some time and put the max money code here: 800CFA18 967F - maximum credits part 1 800CFA1A 0098 - maximum credits part 2 * If you want some room to make more money, here are some lesser amounts: 800CFA18 4B40 - 5,000,000 credits part 1 800CFA1A 004C - 5,000,000 credits part 2 800CFA18 4240 - 1,000,000 credits part 1 800CFA1A 000F - 1,000,000 credits part 2 10H) In-Mission Card Hand * This code is cool. You can make your own hand of cards! * Use the Card List to fill in pp, qq, rr, ss, and tt * Unlike the other codes in this guide, you cannot save this to a memory card. * As long as the code is on, that card slot will ALWAYS be the card you enter. You can use it as many times as you want; it will stay there! * For player 1. 800CFA21 qqpp - qq is slot 2, pp is slot 1 800CFA23 ssrr - ss is slot 4, rr is slot 3 800CFA25 00tt - tt is slot 5 Card List: 00: Move +1 01: Move +2 02: Move +3 03: Exit 04: Attack +3 05: Attack +4 06: Attack +5 07: Attack +6 08: Attack +7 09: Attack +8 0A: Attack +9 0B: Attack S 0C: Attack C 0D: Defense +3 0E: Defense +4 0F: Defense +5 10: Defense +6 11: Defense +7 12: Defense +8 13: Defense +9 14: Defense D 15: Defense A 16: L Trap 17: E Trap 18: S Trap 19: D Trap FF: [Empty] 11H) Super Character Code * This code puts all of your stats at the 26-point maximum (level 90) and gives you 99 HP. You can exceed 26 points in stats, but be careful, as the game can freeze/crash. 800CF9A0 1A1A 800CF9A2 1A1A 800CFA0E 6363 800CFA20 FF63 12H) Closing Statements: Guide Version History: -Version 1.00 completed on July 4, 2011 (Happy Independence Day, America!) **Every one** of these codes were found and written by me (I refrain from saying "created", as Gameshark codes are really just discovered addresses of a game's RAM). While there are a small handful of GS codes available online for this game, none of them were copied or stolen for this guide. Many of the codes in this guide were not available (to the best of my knowledge) before/during the creation of this guide, so please give credit, or just link to this guide, if you share these with others. If you have problems with some codes, or want to request a new code, feel free to contact me via GameFAQs private message (PM) or email me at: Lutepin@rocketmail.com Thanks for reading!
