Story (Taken from mission 1 intro) Neuwork Inc. and General Resource are bitter rivals in the competition for economic domination of the world. A defection of key scientists from General Resource to Neuwork is the latest tactical coup in this atmosphere of rising tensions. Universal Peace Enforcement Organization (UPEO) Command believes that Neuwork's recent acquisitions of advanced technology and researchers in emerging technologies are part of a master plan to surpass General Resource in all critical economic sectors. Moreover, Neuwork's recent show of force against General Resource indicates Neuwork's willingness to use violence to achieve their corporate objectives. Your mission as a UPEO pilot is to protect General Resource's interests that are threatened by Neuwork's aggressions. However, keep in mind that UPEO's prime directive is to mediate and maintain peace among all parties at all costs. II. Secret Planes These planes can only be used in the Mission Simulator. See section V. Secrets for plane info. III. Weapons A. Guns 1. Vulcan They're just regular bullets. That's all. 2. Heavy Machine Gun They do more damage than the Vulcan. 3. Cannon They are the most damaging of the solid-type bullets. They don't have very fast rapid fire and they have fair range. 4. Neutron beam (Only available on R-352 Sepia) Used to blow up satellites in Mission 16 (But I doubt you'll need to use this weapon). 5. Pulse laser (Only available on R-102, R-211 and R-103) Energy orbs shoot out of your craft. 6. Laser Cannon (Only available on XR-900 and X-49) A long beam comes out the front of your plane. It is very damaging to whatever it touches and it goes pretty far. Has a slow reload time. B. Missiles 1. Regular Missile Just a standard, heat-seeking missile. That's all. Fire rate: 2 or 4 2. Short-Range Missile Shorter range than Regular Missile but has more rapid-fire Fire rate: 4 or 6 3. Ground Missile Made for ground targets, as they have very low range and firing rate. (When the current target is air-based, normal missiles are used regardless of the plane you use. It's just an oddity I wanted to point out.) Fire rate: 2 4. Plasma Beam (Only available on R-352 Sepia) Used to blow up satellites in Mission 16. Fire rate: 4 5. Anti-Nanobite bomb (Only usable in Mission 18) These are used to, well, get rid of nanobites. After all, it's called an "Anti-Nanobite Bomb", isn't it? Fire rate: 1 6. M.I.R.V. Divides into 4 warheads. Warheads converge onto target. Fire rate: 2 7. Spread Bomb Used to blow up stuff on the ground. (When the current target is air-based, normal missiles are used regardless of the plane you use.) This weapon can only be used on the Mission Simulator. Fire rate: 2 8. O.S.L. See Section V. Secrets for info. IV. Walkthrough Before I actually start the walkthrough, let me explain the messages you get after finishing a mission. - If you get a "Mission Accomplished" message, that means you have completed all the required objectives within the time limit if one exists. If you did the bare minimum necessary to successfully complete the objectives, you will get a "C" rating, which is not necessarily good. To get better ratings, you need to kill some enemies (marked white)! The more enemies you destroy the better! Just don't exceed the time limit... - In some missions, ratings of "A" are rewarded with new planes! "A" ratings are also necessary to unlock certain secrets. - If you get a "Mission Over" message, that means that you did not complete the required objectives within the time limit. "Mission Over" messages are followed by "D" ratings, which are VERY disappointing! - If you get a "Mission Failed" message, you need to repeat the mission! Examples of mission failures include: - Getting shot down by an enemy - Crashing into the terrain - Allowing the plane you're escorting to be destroyed - Allowing your targets to escape - Exiting the combat area If you fail a mission, you get the option to retry the mission. With that out of the way, let's get on with the walkthrough! 1. Transport Mission Briefing: Neuwork's air force is transporting military supplies over the no-fly zone above Expo City. Scramble immediately and destroy their transports. Targets: R-501 (x4) R-101 (x1) (appears after destroying all 4 R-501s) Enemies: R-201 (x2) R-101 (x2) R-101 (x3) (appear after destroying all 4 R-501s) Strategy: Destroy the 4 R-501 transports (marked as red on the radar) in under 3 minutes. After all 4 are destroyed, there will be no time limit and more planes will appear. Destroy the plane marked red on the radar to finish the mission. If you do not destroy the last R-501 before the timer hits 3:00, the mission will end after you destroy the last R-501 and you will receive a D for this mission. It doesn't matter if you destroy all the white planes, unless you want more planes or access to the last mission. You need all As and Bs in missions 1 through 35 to gain access to mission 36. Grading System (Kill-based): (For kill-based grading systems, I will state how many enemies need to be destroyed IN ADDITION to all targets. It should already be obvious that all the targets need to be destroyed, but I'm just putting this here to avoid confusion.) A: 5+ enemies B: 4 enemies C: 0-3 enemies 2. Interference Mission Briefing: Neuwork's Waiapolo Mountain radio transmitters are jamming General Resource's military communications. Destroy all 8 transmitters scattered throughout the mountains. Targets: Radar (x8) Base (x4) (appears after destroying all 8 radars) Bridge (x1) (appears after destroying all 8 radars) Enemies: R-101 (x2) R-201 (x2) AA (Anti-Aircraft) Gun (x5) SAM (Surface-to-Air Missile) (x2) Strategy: Seek and destroy the 8 radar sites in the mission in less than 4 minutes. After destroying the radar sites you will be updated with 5 more red targets: 4 bases and a bridge. Destroy all the planes, as well as the AA Guns and SAM Launchers near the bases. Note: the time limit only applies for the destruction of the radar sites. If you don't destroy the last radar site before the timer hits 4:00, the mission will end after you destroy the last radar site and you will receive a D for this mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 10+ enemies B: 5-9 enemies C: 0-4 enemies 3. Joint Maneuvers Mission Briefing: Based on the success of the previous mission, General Resource Defense Force has agreed to participate in joint training exercises. Follow instructions issued by GRDF's ace fighter in the F-15S/MT "Eagle+" to begin your training flight. Targets: Decoy (x3) (cannot lock on) Tower (x3) Container (x5) (appear after destroying all 3 towers) Enemies: R-201 (x4) (appear after destroying all 3 towers) R-501 (x1) (appear after destroying all 3 towers) Strategy: Follow the F-15. Try to keep the word PURSUE on your screen. If PURSUE disappears from your screen, Find the F-15 and get within 1000 feet of it. After 1½ minutes, you will be given 3 air targets and 3 ground targets. Use your gun on the Decoys and your missiles on the Towers. You earn 400 points for each Decoy and 200 points for each Tower. After getting all the targets, an enemy air transport will drop 5 containers. Destroy all 5 containers with your gun to finish the mission. Grading System (Point-based): This is the only mission with a point-based grading system. To find out how many points you need to get in the first 1½ minutes, subtract 1800 from the points required for each grade. A: 5000+ points B: 4000-4999 points C: 3000-3999 points D: <3000 points Personal Comments: If your controls are set to easy (that is, when you tilt the analog stick left, it just turns left), then you may find maintaining a constant pursuit during the first 1½ minutes a pretty difficult task. 4. Megafloat Mission Briefing: Neuwork's naval vessels are sailing north across the Eusian Ocean to fortify a military installation on the floating city Megafloat. Destroy them to stop the further militarization of the city. Targets: WarShip (x1) Convoy (x1) Carrier (x1) R-101 (x2) (Appear after destroying all watercraft) R-201 (x2) (Appear after destroying all watercraft) Enemies: R-101 (x2) R-201 (x2) AA Gun (x4) SAM (x4) Neutral Targets (Don't Attack): Facilities (x4) Transport (x2) NOTE: The ships have artillery mounted on them. When a ship is destroyed, all artillery on the ship is destroyed as well. Therefore, I will not count artillery on ships as individual enemies. Strategy: Go to the convoy and warship and destroy them. Ignore the R-101 and go to the island. Destroy all the AA Guns and SAM Launchers on the island, without destroying the neutral targets. Go to the aircraft carrier and destroy it before the timer hits 3 minutes. After you destroy the aircraft carrier, destroy the 2 enemy R-201s, and then destroy the target planes. Land the plane on the carrier or have the autopilot do it for you. If you do not destroy the last watercraft before the timer hits 3:00, the mission will end after you destroy the last watercraft and you will receive a D for this mission. NOTE: I will not describe the landing procedure! Figure it out yourself. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 10+ enemies B: 6-9 enemies C: 0-5 enemies 5. Scramble Mission Briefing: 8 R-201 "Asterozoa" attack jets on stand-by were ID'd at Neuwork's Waiapolo Mountain air base last night. Wipe them out to reduce the air base's military effectiveness! Targets: R-201 (x8) (On ground) Enemies: R-102 (x2) R-211 (x2) AA Gun (x4) SAM (x1) Strategy: Shoot down the R-211 directly in front of you. Shoot down the other R-211. If the clock hits 30 seconds while attacking the other R-211, leave it. Then go straight to the airfield. Attack the SAM Launcher, then work on the R-201s. You can destroy the AA Guns, but all 8 R-201s must be destroyed before the clock hits 3 minutes. If you do not destroy all of them within the time limit, more targets will appear and you'll have to destroy them to get a "Mission Over" instead. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 7+ enemies B: 2-6 enemies C: 0-1 enemies Personal comments: I don't know about you, but I seem to have a tough time in this mission on normal or hard difficulty. Your targets are bunched close together, each one takes 2 missiles to destroy, and the planes you can use at this point in the game can only fire 2 missiles at a time. I recommend settling for a B during a normal game, and coming back to this mission on the Mission Simulator with a better plane. 6. Target Acquisition Mission Briefing: Illegal military facilities discovered in Expo City. UPEO requests a recon mission of the area to assess the possibility of a military coup. Use laser targeting to photograph the facilities. Targets: Facilities (x4) F-16XA (x3) (Appear after targeting all facilities) F/A-18I (x3) (Appear after targeting all facilities) Enemies: F-16XF (x3) F-16XA (x3) AA Gun (x8) SAM (x3) Strategy: Find the 4 facilities and shoot them within the 3-minute time limit. Then take all the time you need to take out the ground weapons and the 6 target planes. You don't need to worry about shooting down the enemy planes, since you earn an A just for taking out just the ground enemies and target planes. If you take longer than 3 minutes to shoot all 4 facilities, the mission will end after you shoot the last facility and you will receive a D for this mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 10+ enemies B: 5-9 enemies C: 0-4 enemies 7. Fragile Cargo Mission Briefing: At 18:30 hours, a terrorist communique alerted UPEO command to the launch of an unmanned airship carrying bio weapons over Axel Bay's coastal industrial region. The ship's low altitude is on a collision course with buildings. Destruction of the ship will release its deadly payload. Destroy any buildings in its path for a safe water landing. Targets: The airship will be heading in one of three directions. If the airship is heading southwestward, you'll need to destroy 9 chimneys and 1 bridge. The hydrofoil will launch at 4:40. If the airship is heading westward, you will need to destroy 7 chimneys. The hydrofoil will launch at 5:26. If the airship is heading northwestward, you'll need to destroy 10 chimneys and 1 bridge. The hydrofoil will launch at 6:06. Enemies: UI-4054 (x1) Don't let this aircraft crash: UI-4052 (x1) Strategy: Destroy all chimneys marked as targets to prevent the runaway blimp UI-4052 from crashing and releasing the biological weapons onboard. If the UI-4052 crashes into something you must start over. If you want to, you can destroy the UI-4054. After the blimp makes a safe landing, a hydrofoil will come out. Destroy it to finish the mission. I don't feel like doing a grading system due to the unusual nature of this mission. All you need to know is that if you destroy all the chimneys, the UI-4054, and the hydrofoil, you're bound to get an A. 8. Demilitarization Mission Briefing: Despite repeated warnings, Neuwork continues to upgrade Megafloat's military capabilities. Destroy any military targets on-board Megafloat! Targets: R-201 (x2) AA Gun (x4) Tower (x1) Enemies: R-101 (x4) R-201 (x2) Convoy (x2) Carrier (x1) AA Gun (x4) (1 on each Convoy, 2 on Carrier) SAM (x5) (1 on carrier) You're probably going to ask me, "Why are you listing artillery on ships as individual enemies in this mission, but not in mission 4?" That's because the ships in this mission are not targets. However, the artillery on the ships are still counted as individual enemies. Strategy: Go into a nosedive and destroy the convoy in front of you. Then pull up and destroy another convoy. Pull up even more and attack the 2 R-201s. Head to the island and destroy all the SAM Launchers, and then all the AA Guns. Ignore the tower for now. Head southeast and destroy the aircraft carrier. Return to the island and destroy the 2 target R-201s. Then destroy as many R-101s as you can before the clock hits 3:15. After you destroy all the R-101s (or the clock hits 3:15, whichever comes first), Find the tower and destroy it before the clock hits 3:30. If you exceed the time limit, a hydrofoil will be launched, and you'll have to destroy it to get a "Mission Over" instead. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 17-18 enemies B: 8-16 enemies C: 0-7 enemies 9. Moonlight Flower Mission Briefing: UPEO Intelligence discovered that Neuwork's microwave power plant supplies power to their illegal munitions factory. Microwave interference from the plant may reduce effectiveness of your missile guidance system. Use your machine gun to attack and disable the power plant. Enemies: R-101 (x3) R-201 (x4) R-701 (x2) AA Gun (x4) SAM (x4) Targets: Power Plant (x4) Core (x1) Strategy: Destroy all the planes and the SAM Launcher in the area directly in front of you. Then shoot the power plants with your guns (missiles can't lock on). After destroying all 4 plants, you will be able to target with your missiles. Destroy all the AA Guns, R-701s and R-201s in the area. Go to a high altitude, turn around toward the core, and destroy it before the timer hits 5 minutes. If you do not destroy the core before the timer hits 5 minutes, you will receive a D for this mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 13+ enemies B: 7-12 enemies C: 0-6 enemies 10. Maze Mission Briefing: A suspicious plane alleged to be General Resource's spyplane was spotted in the Hatties Ravine region. Pursue and conduct surveillance on the craft. I won't be using the normal format for listing enemies in this mission. However, I can tell you this much: There are 10 AH-66Bs in the actual maze portion, but you will only see about 4 or 5 of them as you follow the A/F-117X through the maze. The A/F-117X will lead you to one of three endpoints. All of the endpoints have 3 AH-66Bs, a hydrofoil, 2 oiltanks, and a base. However, you'll only need to worry about the endpoint that the A/F-117X leads you to. Strategy: Follow the A/F-117X through the canyon and destroy any enemies in front of you. If you go too high, you must start over. If you manage to successfully follow the A/F-117X to one of the endpoints, you will be given a new target: a base. Destroy the base to finish the mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 7+ enemies B: 4-6 enemies C: 0-3 enemies 11. Escort Mission Briefing: Intelligence reports that a UPEO aircraft transporting the NUN (Neo United Nations) chairman has been targeted by terrorists. Scramble at once and escort the aircraft currently heading northwest over the Lambert Mountains. Targets: F/A-32C (x5) Do not let this plane get shot down: R-505U (x1) Strategy: Fly ahead and destroy all the red targets. If the R-505U gets shot down, you must start over. Then you can try and refuel, or let the autopilot do it for you. NOTE: I will not describe the refueling procedure! I just use the autopilot. Grading System (Time-based): A: <3:00 B: 3:00-3:59 C: 4:00+ 12. Stratosphere Note: You might want to set your flight control to Easy for this mission. Mission Briefing: 6 large planes from Neuwork's air force are en route to General Resource's White Valley Air Base at an altitude of 30,000 feet. Use the high altitude stratofighter RF-12A2 "Blackbird" to attack the hostiles. Targets: R-531 (x6) Enemies: R-311 (x8) Strategy: First, go down to a lower altitude and destroy 2 R-311s. Then return to the stratosphere and destroy all 6 R-531s. If you take too long to destroy all 6 R-531s, they will escape and you will have to start over. Land the plane or let the autopilot do it for you. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 2+ enemies B: 1 enemy C: 0 enemies 13. Claustrophobia Mission Briefing: Presence of Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles (IRBM's) confirmed at 2 military installations in Amber Ravine. Intelligence reports that the bases appear to be Neuwork's. Major population centers such as Expo City and Port Edwards fall within the IRBM's effective attack range. Scramble at once and destroy the bases despite the dense fog. Targets: Base (x8) AA Gun (x2) Enemies: R-102 (x3) R-201 (x2) R-211 (x2) R-701 (x3) Base (x6) AA Gun (x7) SAM (x4) Strategy: Ignore all of the R-102s, R-201s, and R-211s. Destroy every ground target, ground enemy, and R-701 you see. If you do not destroy all the red targets within the time limit, a missile will be launched, and you'll have to shoot it down (with your guns) to get a "Mission Over" instead. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 20+ enemies B: 5-19 enemies C: 0-4 enemies 14. Reaching For Stars Mission Briefing: "Antlion" mobile assault tanks were airdropped near Neuwork's Space Research Center. They appear to be from General Resource's airborne unit. We believe that their mission is to stop the space shuttle launch scheduled for today and seize control of the research center. Destroy the Antlions before they overrun the base. Targets: Antlion (x10) F/A-32C (x3) (Appear after destroying 10 Antlions) Enemies: F/A-32C (x3) C-17B (x1) F/A-32C (x2) (Appear after destroying 10 Antlions) Strategy: Fly forward and up, accelerating all the way. When you get within about 5000 feet of the first Antlion, slow down. Lock on to the first Antlion, fire, change target, lock on, fire, change target, and so on. If you're good, you might be able to get all 10 in the first pass. If you didn't know already, you should be using the F-15S/MT, so getting all 10 shouldn't pose much of a problem. After destroying all 10, more planes will show up. Destroy those planes to finish the mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 5+ enemies B: 2-4 enemies C: 0-1 enemies 15. Guardian Angel Mission Briefing: Neuwork's space shuttle is returning to the Comona Island Space Research Center. A squadron from General Resource's air force is reportedly on an intercept course with the shuttle. Secure a safe return path for the shuttle! Targets: F-22C (x7) Don't let this aircraft get shot down: R-808 (x1) Strategy: After taking off from the runway, head southeast and attack the 4 F-22Cs. After taking them out, head to the other group of F-22Cs and take them out also. If the R-808 gets shot down, you must restart the mission. Then land the plane. If you for some very strange reason take longer than 4 minutes to shoot down all 7 F-22Cs, more planes will appear northeast of the space center and you will have to shoot those down to get a "Mission Over". Grading System (Time-based): A: <3:00 B: 3:00-3:29 C: 3:30-3:59 16. Zero Gravity Mission Briefing: Recon data from the shuttle has ID'd 4 General Resource satellites as Orbital Satellite Lasers (OSL's). Fly the R-352 "Sepia" star fighter and destroy the satellites before they become fully operational. Mission objective must be met within the fighter's limited 3 minute space flight time. Targets: Satellite (x4) Strategy: Just go to each satellite and destroy them. If you exceed the time limit, the nearest remaining satellite will kill you. To reenter the atmosphere, raise your pitch until you see a white box with a line in the center. Align the pitch line with the center line and you should be okay. Grading System (Time-based): A: <2:30 B: 2:30-2:59 (not confirmed) C: N/A (not confirmed) 17. One-Way Ticket Mission Briefing: Neuwork's researchers were abducted by unknown agents. They are now fleeing east across the Sandbury Desert aboard an armored train. Eliminate both the train and researchers. Targets: Attack Train (x6) Enemies: F/A-32C (x6) Strategy: Start off by attacking the 6 planes. After destroying 4 planes, go for the attack train. You must use guns here because your missiles can't lock on. Be careful, as the train may fire back. Hitting the train is not an easy task, because it's so small. Don't destroy the parts of of the train marked N.TGT as your ending grade will drop to a "C" if you do so. Destroy all the targets before it reaches the base in 4½ minutes! Grading System (Kill-based): A: 4+ enemies B: 2-3 enemies C: 0-1 enemies 18. Bug Hunt Mission Briefing: UPEO HQ received reports that nanobites were released in the Chopinburg forest region. They've since built gigantic nests out of themselves. HQ verified that electronic equipment in close proximity to nests are affected adversely by the nanobites. Use Neuwork's Anti-Nanobite Bomb to exterminate them. Targets: Nano-Bite (x24) Strategy: There are 3 groups of 8 nanobites. The nanobites in each group will be arranged like this: X X X X X X X X When you tilt your plane down, you will see a symbol. That is the aiming cursor for your bombs. Line the cursor up with the group of nanobites and fire. You may sometimes get more than one nanobite in each blast. Keep firing into the group until all the nanobites are destroyed. Repeat for the other groups. Stay away from the ellipsoids; they emit radiation which damages your plane. Grading System (Time-based): A: <5:00 B: 5:00+ C: N/A (not confirmed) 19. Blackbird Note: You might want to set your flight control to Easy for this mission. Mission Briefing: 4 large Neuwork air transports are closing in on General Resource's White Valley Air Base with a high altitude approach. Fly the RF-12A2 "Blackbird" with high altitude combat capabilities to intercept them. Targets: R-531 (x4) Strategy: If you do not destroy all 4 R-531s before the timer hits 1:30, then 2 R-311s will emerge for every R-531 still in the air. If that happens, try to destroy the R-311s while they are still descending. Grading System (Time-based): A: <2:00 B: 2:00-2:59 C: 3:00-3:59 20. Fjord Mission Briefing: Neuwork's naval fleet is upgrading itself at its Petrol Coast logistics base. The base is sheltered from aerial attacks by the area's fjord topography. Infiltrate the area via a low altitude approach from the sea ahd destroy the fleet! Targets: Submarine (x3) Convoy (x3) Enemies: R-102 (x1) R-201 (x2) R-211 (x10) R-701 (x8) Strategy: You have 9 minutes to destroy all 6 targets, which means you have plenty of time to destroy all the other enemies in this mission;-) If you take longer than 9 minutes to destroy all 6 targets, you will receive a D for this mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 18+ enemies B: 11-17 enemies C: 0-10 enemies 21. Counterterrorism Mission Briefing: A large airborne aircraft carrier has been spotted over Megafloat. UPEO Intelligence suggests that this is an attempt by a coup d'etat force to take over Megafloat. Scramble immediately to destroy the carrier and suppress the group. Targets: UI-4053 (x1) Su-43 (x3) (appear after destroying 4 parts of UI-4053) XFA-36A (x1) (appears after destroying 4 parts of UI-4053) UI-4054 (x1) (appears after destroying previous 4 targets) Strategy: Attack the UI-4053 while dodging its missiles and guns. The UI-4053 has 4 parts, but you can only target 1 part at a time. Also, each part takes 2 or 4 missiles to destroy depending on what difficulty mission you are playing this mission on. After you destroy the 4 parts, 4 planes will show up. After destroying all 4 planes, a new plane, the UI-4054, will show up. Destroy the UI-4054 to finish the mission. Grading System (Time-based): A: <4:00 B: 4:00+ C: N/A (not confirmed) 22. ECM Mission Briefing: Ouroboros is operating an illegal weapons plant in an Expo City facility. Their radar will be jammed to enable a stealth approach in order to keep combat in the city's airspace to a minimum. Time raids to jamming periods and bomb the plant. Targets: Production Plant (x2) Radar Site (x7) Enemies: AH-66B (x2) AA Gun (x7) SAM (x2) Strategy: When the word JAMMING appears, go into a nosedive. Attack the production plant in front of you, then raise your nose and attack the radar site. Veer right and destroy the next production plant. Then head west and follow the bridge to the next radar site. Veer right and destroy the next radar site, and veer a little to the left to the next radar site. By now you will be asked to pull up, so pull up to above 12500 ft. Then make a left turn so that you are now pointing south. When the word JAMMING appears, go into a nosedive and destroy the radar site in front and left of you. Then destroy the radar site to the left, and head WSW to the last radar site. Land the plane or have the autopilot do it for you. By the way, if you are below 12500 ft. when the timer is green, you will spike the enemy radar, and you will get a "Mission Over" when you finish. Grading System (Binary?): If a grading system is labeled as binary, that means that you will either get an A or a D. In the case of this mission, you will get an A if you complete the mission without spiking the enemy radar, or a D if you spiked the enemy radar during the mission. 23. Swarm Mission Briefing: Neuwork has been amassing its air force on Megafloat since the recent coup d'etat attempt and continues to ignore UPEO's warnings to demilitarize. Destroy Neuwork's air force! Targets: R-101 (x5) R-102 (x5) R-103 (x6) R-201 (x5) R-211 (x5) Carrier (x2) Convoy (x4) Enemies: AA Gun (x4) SAM (x4) Do not attack: V-22B (x5) Strategy: You must shoot down 26 planes. Don't worry; you have a friend to help you do the work. After downing all 26 planes, head to Megafloat. Destroy 2 convoys and a carrier as you fly past the fleet. Then go around the island, destroying all of the AA Guns and SAM Launchers. Remember not to attack anything marked N.TGT. Then head back to what remains of the fleet and destroy the remaining ships. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 8 enemies B: 4-7 enemies C: 0-3 enemies 24. Damage Control Mission Briefing: General Resource mobilized its air force in response to Neuwork's actions on Megafloat. Fighting has broken out over Port Edwards airspace as a result. We've received reports that civiilian press choppers are in the combat zone. Stop the fighting between the two combatants while protecting civilians! Targets: R-103 (x3) XFA-36A (x3) R-103 (x2) (appear after destroying first 5 targets) F/A-32C (x2) (appear after destroying first 5 targets) Enemies: F-22C (x6) XFA-36A (x4) R-102 (x3) R-103 (x1) Do not attack: V-22B (x4) Strategy: Destroy the enemy planes. Do not hit the neutral targets. After you destroy all the red targets, more planes will show up. Destroy those planes to finish the mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 12+ enemies B: 3-11 enemies C: 0-2 enemies 25. Conspiracy Mission Briefing: The skirmish between Neuwork and General Resource was caused by false intelligence information transmitted from an Ouroboros outpost in Expo City. You are now cleared to destroy this outpost. Shoot down any hostile Ouroboros fighters and bomb the outpost! Targets: R-211 (x3) Su-43 (x4) Base (x2) Enemies: Su-37 (x3) AA Gun (x6) SAM (x3) Tank (x2) Strategy: Destroy all the enemy planes. Then destroy all the AA Guns, SAM Launchers, and tanks scattered throughout Expo City. Then destroy the 2 bases. Finally, enter the underground base and unleash a whole bunch of missiles upon the escaping V-22B. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 11+ enemies B: 2-10 enemies C: 0-1 enemies 26. Intercept Mission Briefing: Neuwork's space research satellite made a water landing in the Eusian Ocean, and their recovery unit is en route from Megafloat. General Resource's fleet is also en route and is likely to reach the satellite first. Mobilize immediately and prevent satellite recovery by General Resource! Targets: Convoy (x4) Carrier (x1) Hydrofoil (x4) (appear after destroying first 5 targets) Convoy (x2) (appear after destroying first 5 targets) Enemies: XFA-36A (x6) F-22C (x2) C-17B (x2) Your Team: Hydrofoil (x4) Strategy: First, you'll want to destroy the XFA-36As that are heading north to attack your team of hydrofoils. The best way to do this is to pass them on the left, then turn around and attack from behind. Don't take too long to destroy them; you have to destroy the enemy ships before they reach the satellite. After you've destroyed the XFA-36As, attack the 5 enemy ships. You might want to fire 2 missiles at each ship for good measure. After all 5 ships are destroyed, General Resource will send another fleet, this time consisting of 4 hydrofoils and 2 convoys. Keep in mind that if any of the enemy ships reach the satellite first, you must restart the mission. Destroy the 4 hydrofoils, then destroy the rest of the enemy planes, and finally sink the 2 convoys to complete this mission. You also complete the mission if your hydrofoils make it to the satellite first. If the enemy sinks your first team of hydrofoils, you will receive a D for this mission. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 8+ enemies B: 3-7 enemies C: 0-2 enemies 27. Plumber Mission Briefing: General Resource's air base radar facilities are intercepting state secrets via satellite. You are hereby ordered to destroy their facilities. Their radar net detects all aircraft flying above 1300 ft. Maintain low altitude flight to infiltrate base and destroy all 8 radar facilities. Targets: Radar Site (x8) Enemies: F-15 S/MT (x2) AA Gun (x4) SAM (x2) Strategy: You must stay below 1300 ft. as you head toward the radar facilities or the radars will spot you and you will get a D for this mission. Once you are cleared to engage, you will be allowed to go above 1300 ft. Destroy the AA Guns and SAM Launchers, and then the radar sites. Then you can land the plane, or let the autopilot do it for you. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 6+ enemies B: 3-5 enemies C: 0-2 enemies 28. Pathfinder Mission Briefing: Ouroboros abducted the chairman of NUN and imprisoned him at their Expo City outpost. NUN has green lighted an UPEO rescue mission to terminate the Expo City Ouroboros detachment and secure the area for the rescue unit. Targets: Su-37 (x4) R-101U (x2) Tank (x10) Su-37 (x2) (appear after cutscene) Su-43 (x6) (appear after cutscene) Base (x2) (appear after cutscene) Enemies: AA Gun (x6) SAM (x2) Tank (x4) (Appear after cutscene) Rescue Unit: R-201U (x1) Strategy: Destroy all the enemy planes, then destroy all the AA Guns, SAM Launchers, and tanks scattered throughout Expo City. After all the tanks are destroyed, your rescue unit will pick up the NUN chairman. After that, destroy all the enemy planes swarming the rescue unit. Then destroy the remainder of the tanks, and finally destroy the 2 bases. Grading System (Kill-based): A: 5+ enemies B: 1-4 enemies C: 0 enemies 29. Ouroboros Mission Briefing: Port Edwards is under attack by Ouroboros' air force. Scramble immediately and eliminate all hostile aircraft. Targets: XFA-36A (x6) UI-4053 (x1) (appear when first 6 targets are destroyed) Enemies: Su-37 (x10) R-103 (x2) (appear when first 6 targets are destroyed) Su-43 (x2) (appear when first 6 targets are destroyed)
        Strategy:
        Take off from the runway. Then attack the 2 groups of 3 XFA-36As.
        If you want, you can destroy the 10 Su-37s to the east.  When you have
        destroyed all 6 XFA-36As, head toward the UI-4053.  Destroy the planes
        surrounding the UI-4053, then attack it.  After you have hit it enough
        times you will be told to stop.
        Grading System (Kill-Based):
        A: 11+ enemies
        B: 3-10 enemies
        C: 0-2 enemies

        From now on, the game automatically advances to the next mission when
        a mission is completed.

        30. Search and Destroy
        Mission Briefing:
        The Ouroboros naval forces are reportedly advancing toward Megafloat.
        Ouroboros support aircraft have also been sighted in the area.
        Scramble immediately and destroy all enemy forces.

        Carrier (x1)
        UI-4053 (x1) (Appears after destroying first 4 targets)

        Strategy:
        Shoot down the 8 XFA-36As, then attack the 3 stealth warships and
        aircraft carrier near the island.  After destroying the fleet, you will
        watch as a mysterious plane annihilates the island.  Head toward the
        UI-4053, destroy the planes surrounding it, and finally destroy the
        UI-4053.
        Grading System (Kill-based):
        A: 9+ enemies
        B: 2-8 enemies
        C: 0-1 enemies

        31. Tunnel Vision
        Strategy:
        Somewhere in the first part, doors will start closing. Head through the
        doors that close slowly. When you reach a dark and light tunnel, you
        can pick either one. The light tunnel to the right twists and turns.
        The dark tunnel to the left is a more direct path to the third section,
        but it dips and rises.  When you reach the end of either tunnel, you
        will see sets of three tunnels.  In each set, 2 doors close quickly.
        Fly past the doors that close slowly. When you reach a fork, take
        either one, it does not matter.  Fly through the green tunnel. (if you
        are in Easy difficulty, this is the end of the mission. If you are in
        Normal or Hard difficulty, the mission keeps going.) You will reach a
        clearing.  Go through one of the tunnels, and get past the obstacles,
        which mainly consists of vertical and horizontal green pillars. The
        large green hexagonal tunnel marks the end of the mission.
        Grading System (Time-based)

        32. Night Raven
        Targets:
        X-49 (x1)
        Strategy:
        The plane you're attacking, the X-49 Night Raven, is harder to hit than
        ordinary enemies.  Anyway, attack the X-49 by firing 4 missiles at it
        when you have a clear shot.  When you have hit it enough times, you
        will be told to stop.
        Grading System (Time-based)
        (I can't use the O.S.L. in this mission, so I have to guess the times
        for each grade.)

        33. Geofront Attack
        Targets:
        Support Column (x10) (Cannot lock on)

        Strategy:
        Machine-gun the 10 support columns in Geofront.  Watch out for the
        X-49, though, and do not try to destroy it.

        34. Aurora
        Targets:
        X-49 (x1)
        UI-4054 (x1) (appears after destroying X-49)

        Here you finally get to finish off the X-49.  After you destroy the
        X-49, a new plane, the UI-4054 Aurora, will appear.  After you hit it
        enough times, you will be told to stop.  Be careful!  It's very good at
        dodging missiles, and if you run out of missiles, you're basically out
        of luck.
        Grading System (Kill-based)
        A: 4-6 enemies
        B: 1-3 enemies
        C: 0 enemies

        35. Electrosphere
        Targets:
        UI-4054 (x1)
        Strategy:
        You must battle against the UI-4054 Aurora over the ruins of Megafloat.
        After hitting it enough times, the battlefield switches to the
        Electrosphere.  Finish the UI-4054 off to complete the mission!
        Grading System (Time-based)

        C: N/A (not confirmed)

        36. Geopelia
        Mission Briefing:
        We've received reports of an attack on Port Edwards by 8 unidentified
        fighters.  Our intelligence has ID'd them as Neuwork's powerful new
        unmanned fighter, the XR-900 "Geopelia".  Scramble immediately and
        destroy them while minimizing civilian casualties.
        Targets:
        XR-900 (x8)
        Strategy:
        After taking off from the runway, attack the XR-900s.  When you shoot
        one down, you will watch a cut scene and the next thing you know you
        are controlling the XR-900.  Use it to shoot down the other XR-900s.
        If you can complete this mission in 5 minutes, the XR-900 is yours to
        keep.

        A. Unlock Music Player
        Complete the game on Easy difficulty.

        B. Unlock Mission Simulator
        Complete the game on Normal difficulty.
        The Mission Simulator allows you to play any mission on any difficulty
        using any plane. (You can use regular and secret planes in regular 
        missions, but you must use the RF-12A2 in stratosphere missions and the
        R-352 in space missions)

        C. Unlock Japanese Intro
        Complete the game on Hard difficulty.
        To view: At the "Press Start" screen, press Start while holding down
