This is based on the Australian version of the game, otherwise it's the same as
all others except the original release in Europe. For Europeon people, this
refers to the Power-Up version of the game, v1.2.5. 

You may keep a copy of this FAQ for reference, but I ask that there is to be
no huge copy and pasting into another document of any kind. Nor is there to be
any publication of this guide, except of that of GameFAQs.

Best viewed with a set space font such as Fixedsys, Lucida Console or Courier

1- WHY ARE THESE MEDALS REQUIRED?
======================================================

The medals are important for track building, a key element to Track Mania. You
begin with 3000 coppers for use with each category, and by completing Solo
races, you can gain medals and coppers to build with. How many coppers you get
is solely determined by the medals you get. Bronze you get 100 coppers, Silver
you get another 200, and with Gold, you get yourself a good 300 coppers. Each
series, identified by a letter, will give even more coppers once you complete
that. That ranks by your lowest scores, so you'll get a silver ranking once
every track has the silver medal or higher. Where these coppers go is
determined by the type of track you did. Say you just gained a silver medal on
a snow race, then you'll get 200 coppers towards only snow tracks made in the
editor. However, coppers recieved by completing a series, campaign (all the
series within a type of mode) or Survival, contribute to all track types.

2A- RACE MEDALS
======================================================

This mode is all about the driving. Make your way through the checkpoints the
fastest you can and beat those medals. The cars you see on the track are
actually replays of the medal times. Beat them, and you'll score yourself a
medal. If someone else has recently played a track, you may even see their
ghost on the track! Unfortunately, they don't get shown if you're up against
the gold medal.

2B- PUZZLE MEDALS
======================================================

Can be a difficult mode, as not only do you have to be a good driver, but you 
also have to be able to make good use of the pieces available to you to build
a track, or sections of track that'll get you the fastest time from start to 
finish, while going through any checkpoints on the field. Just like the races,
another person's ghost may appear if the track is exactly the same, unless
you're going for gold.

2C- SURVIVAL MEDALS
======================================================

While there are no actual medals in game for these tracks, there are medals
if you play them in 'Play Challenge' mode.

*PLEASE ONLY FOLLOW THIS IF YOU'RE COMFORTABLE WITH WINDOWS AND YOUR COMPUTER*
|If you want to see these tracks in Play Challenge mode (which can also be good
|practice for when you play Survival) copy the challenge files from the
|"challenges\survival" folder to the "challenges\my challenges" folder, both
|found in your Track Mania installation (Default-c:\program files\track mania).
|This will allow you to play the Survival tracks as many times as you want
|without playing Survival mode and try to earn the medals below. If you can get
|gold on these tracks, then you should do very well in Survival mode.

I said in the last version that these are the times of the racers. Well, after
playing Survival a bit, I noticed that later races are harder than what they
were before. After examining the replays for the races, I have concluded that
there are in fact 6 racers per track, but the game only shows up to 3 on a
race, and which racers it picks is determined by how far you are into Survival.
The fastest racer that appears on a track is still appears to be the Gold time
though.

If anyone has any info they think should be here about this mode, please email
me.
