This guide won't tell you how to fight every enemy, or the best party setup or the best formations, as a lot of this relies on your personal preference and combat style, but it will guide you through the dungeons and give you info on a variety of bosses. At the beginning of each section is a small checklist and info section setout as follows: Enemies: Albic Qsiti: Bindbreath - AOE Small, causes blackout (SS) Pest: Squash II - AOE Small Grand Beetle: Multi Deadlocks x 2 Squash II - AOE Small (Greater) Nymphalidae Slap II - AOE Small (King) Chimera The above enemies section shows the common enemies you will encounter and info on any particularly dangerous attacks. For example the Qsiti can use an Area of Effect attack that also causes blackout, causing your union to miss their turn. The Grand Beetle can also deadlock two unions before you're able to flank attack it. With AoE attacks I have divided them into three groupings: Small AoE attacks - will generally effect 1 or 2 members of a union, up to the whole union. Medium AoE attacks - generally effect the whole union and nearby members of other unions. Large AoE attacks - generally effect every union. Harvesting Items: Shadow Metal Steel Ore Beastman's Coin Rough Sylph Stone Withered Parchment Urn Omos Morsel Harvesting items show a list of items within the area that you can harvest with Mr. Diggs, as you follow through the guide it will tell you where each specific item is located. Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Weapon Recipe 21 Chest 2: Catacombs Map 1 Chest 3: 3,200 Gold Chest 4: Beastman Ale x 4 Fresh Oil x 4 Treasure chests tell you what each treasure chest contains, read through the guide to find out exactly where they are located. Boss fights are usually marked by a line of ********* above and below their information. At the beginning the contain a quick reference to their name, health and any special attacks as follows Fiery Idol Multi Deadlock x 3 HP: 8k Attacks: Phelegethon - AOE Small Flare - AOE Small Inferno Insignia - AOE Large then as much advice as possible on how to defeat the boss. =============================================================================== 3.00 Disk 1 =============================================================================== =============================================================================== 3.01 Battle of Yamarn Plain =============================================================================== After the intro vid, short battle controls intro Just hammer a, you can't lose this fight. After the first roung you will fire the Gae Bolg, ending the battle sequence. More video Walk to Emma and the glowing green object in front of you, if you target Emma with left or right on the D-Pad and press A when your close enough a short sequence will occur explaining treasure chests. Congratulations, you've gained your first weapon, a basic Broadsword. To the left is the weapons characteristics, as explained above. After Emma has walked away you'll be able to equip the weapon. Again approach Emma and talk to her and you'll be shown your first real battle, a fight with some Jhana Fighters. After a further explanation on battles the fight will start. These guys are particularly weak so there's no need to worry about the fight, just hit A and you should take them out in two or three turns. After the fight, head towards the light and you'll get into your first boss battle. You can always tell Boss battles versus normal battles due to the slightly different load screen. After the tutorial on morale you'll find yourself facing the boss Raptor, again this is a particularly easy battle, just attack with combat arts and after a few turns Rush will be able to launch his special attack, winning the battle automatically. =============================================================================== 3.02 The World Map and Athlum =============================================================================== Welcome to the world map, as you play through the game more and more locations will be revealed to you. For now, select Athlum and press A. After a short video sequence Emma will leave your party and you'll find yourself standing on Xiphos way. Id suggest heading to the weapons shop and picking Rush up a Kiteshield, although obviously your free to change to a different weapon type or dual wield weapons. There really isnt much else to do at the moment so hit the back key and head to Virtus parish. Head into the pub and you'll see the bartender has a ...! speech bubble. People usually grant you quests when you see these so head on over and talk to him. Once he's finished trying to pick you up he'll tell you David is in the castle. You can now go back to the city map and you'll have access to the castle's location. During the game you'll find a fair few locations are opened up by talking to NPC's, I'll point these out to you as we go along. Once your done looking around head to the Castle and a short cut scene will give you two options to go looking for Irina. I'd suggest taking the Gaslin cave's first, as the monsters are slightly easier than those in Robelia Castle. Once you've decided head back to the world map (press back twice) and a new location will open up. =============================================================================== 3.03 Gaslin Caves =============================================================================== Enemies: Rosefly Manticore Treasure: Chest 1: 300 gold Chest 2: Cureleaf x 5 Relaxing Herb x 5 Blocter will provide you with a map of the area. Press X to view this at any time. Before doing anything else I would suggest saving, hit Y to open the menu and select save. Although the monsters are weak its easy to forget to save and lose hours of play during the Last Remnant, especially as there is no Autosave. Head straight ahead and you should come into contact with a few enemies, most likely Roseflies. Pull the right trigger when the speach bubble above them is red to initiate combat. You may have noticed the critical trigger option during the battle, personally I find it a bit irritating, so feel free to turn it off in the config menu. On the plus side the computer will now do the critical trigger automatically, and after it's performed 100 triggers for you, you'll receive the Timing is Everything achivement without actually having to work for it. Blocter will inform you that they're susceptible to combat art's, so just pound away and you should win pretty easily. Keep on following the tunnel until you reach a fork in the path. Take the left path first, but watch out for buried Manticore's, they're not particularly difficult but they can surprise you and get a round of free attacks in. You may have noticed by now that enemies drop items after a fight, and occasionally you can capture an enemy. Most of these are pretty worthless items, used in the occasional upgrade, as for the captured enemies they can be slightly more useful. The can fetch a high price in the shops and will increase your shop points, eventually making more items available. However, if you wish to get all of the achivements for this game then I'd suggest you start splitting creatures now. It takes an incredibly long time to split 500 creatures. At the end of the left path is a treasure chest containing 300 gold, once you've collected this turn around and head back to the fork, taking the other path. A short while in you'll see another chest on your right, open this to receive five cureleaf's and five relaxing herb's, these can be used by Blocter to perform healing item arts. Run around the corner and you'll notice a strange item that looks a bit like a treasure chest. This is actually a teleporter that takes you back to the world map. Before you get the chance to use it however you'll go into a cutscene followed by a boss battle with the Slave Traders. Again, not a difficult battle, i'd suggest having Blocter target the actual boss (shown by his HP being orange and ??? on the hp bar.) Use Rush's union to attack one of the other minions. Once the first minion is dead attack the second minion with Rush then concentrate on the boss, I received 630 gold after the battle so you know have a bit of spending money in Athlum. Once your done talking to people head back to the thing with the green orb in the middle and activate it with A. You can then choose to head back to Athlum. Head to the castle and talk to David, he will tell you to check out the Robelia Castle Ruins. Blocter will leave your squad and Pagus will join you. Head back to the world map and onwards to Robelia. =============================================================================== 3.04 Ruins of Robelia Castle =============================================================================== Enemies: Landworm Vile Lizard Chimera Treasure: Chest 1: Cureleaf x 5 Relaxing Herb x 5 Chest 2: Slayer Stone Chest 3: 500 Gold Chest 4: Greaves Upon entering the Castle Pagus will provide you with an Alizarin Orb. This special item allows Rush to use invocation arts, the monsters here are susceptible to magic so this is quite handy. He'll also provide you with a map of the area. Before I carry on with the guide, a quick interlude on the difference between Mystic and Combat arts. Essentially they serve the same function, although combat arts tend to deal slightly higher damage to one enemy, mystic arts can usually be used against more than one enemy within a union at a time. So on this basis Mystic arts are better for attacking multiple creature unions, whilst combat arts are better for single creature unions. However you need to use the arts to train in them. My suggestion is to stick with mainly mystic arts, whilst using combat arts occasionally. Mystic arts tend to be more powerful on disk 1, with combat arts catching up in disk 2. Head straight on to the doors, (alternatively check out the left and right of the path for a few battles) Once your through the doors head right for a treasure chest containing five Cureleaf's and five Relaxing Herbs. Do a 180 and head through the open door, you can ignore the small room to the left, it doesn't hold anything. Follow the path around and you'll come to a larger room with two exits, head to the doors at the top to find the second treasure chest, containing the Slayer Stone. This is essentially a key to unlock the other door in the room below. Head through the door and you'll come to a crossroads. Turn right here and you'll come to a third treasure chest containing 500 gold. Do a 180 and go straight ahead, the path to the right leads to a dead end. When you hit some stairs you'll see ??? appear at the bottom of the screen, this shows that you are about to enter a new area. You'll appear in a long hall with three exits, be careful if you take the door to the left, it occasionally contains two chimera's which are considerably stronger than the other monster's you've faced before. The door to the right holds the fourth treasure chest containing some Greaves. This accessory grants you a 3% increase to your speed. Remember to open your inventory and equip this immediatly. Once your ready (and you've remembered to save!) head to the center set of doors. After a short cut scene you'll be in a boss fight with the anti-Remnant activists. Just use the same tactics as before, have pagus attack the boss whilst Rush cleans up the minions. After the battle you should receive a chunk of gold again. Once your done take the teleporter and head back to Athlum Castle. After talking with David he'll direct you to take the four generals and head to Dillmoor. =============================================================================== 3.05 Dillmoor =============================================================================== Enemies: Divain Raptor Jhana Fighter Treasure: Chest 1: Cureleaf x 2 Relaxing Herb x 2 800 Gold Chest 2: Dillmoor Map Upon entering Dillmoor, Torgal will talk to you about your talisman. Rush will now be able to Timeshift. Press RB and you'll slow time down, allowing you to tag multiple enemies and suck them all into one larger battle. This will give you more creature drops and a higher chance to capture creatures, becareful using this in new areas however as the creature strength can surprise you at times. Head straight on from the entrance to reach the first treasure chest, this contains two Cureleafs, two Relaxing Herbs and 800 gold. Head left from here following the hill up and around to the right and you'll hit a bridge. Just before the bridge to the right you'll see a second treasure chest, this contains the Dillmoor Map. Directly over the bridge you'll see another teleporter. The right path holds nothing of real interest at the moment, so hang a left and head up the hill. After a short cutscene you'll enter another boss battle against a vicious plant and its vile plant minions. ******************************************************************************* Vicious Plant Multi Deadlock's HP: 5k Attacks: Natural Gas - AOE Small I'd suggest targetting the minions first for this battle, clean them up as quickly as possible, then concentrate on the Vicious Plant. The Vile Plants tend to only use basic attacks, and with their low HP (1k) they're pretty easy to dispose of. With luck the vicious plant will stand by until your ready for him. Keep your health up and you should have no problems. ******************************************************************************* After the battle you'll automatically return to Athlum castle for another cutscene. Rush will wind up in the Town Center and you can now access the union board. Your currently allowed two unions with a maximum capacity of three units, three leaders during battle and you can hire up to five leaders. Torgal and Emma have now also left your party. Seeing as Rush is now on his own this would be a good time to head off and hire a few people. Stop by Rod's components first and get rid of any useless components or monsters, the extra cash is worthwhile. Afterwards head on to Virtus Parish and take the left path to the Union of the Golden Chalice. Speak to the man behind the desk and you'll receive three options. Recruit Leader, Dismiss Leader and Guild Tasks. There are only two leaders available at the moment, but I'd suggest hiring both of them as you'll need the help in the following battles. Its also worth while checking out the guild tasks as you've probably completed one or two of them by now. These are covered in depth in the Guild Quests section. Once your done talking to the guild make sure you open the Union board and add Oakes and McGrady to your party. You could create a union of 1 and a union of 2 if you wished but I think a single three man union is a better option at this point in the game. From here head to the pub and look to your right, you should see a NPC with a quest called "Mysterious Woman." if not, talk to the bartender and try leaving and re-entering the pub/city. She'll give you your first sidequest (although its also a part of the main quest arc) and send you on your way to the Ruins of Robelia Castle again. =============================================================================== 3.06 A Day's Beginning side/main quest. =============================================================================== Given: Mysterious Lady, Warrior's Honor, Athlum Quest: Deliver letter to weeping yama. Reward: 100 gold Head straight ahead here and talk to the Weeping Yama in front of you. You'll automatically warp back to the pub in Athlum and receive your reward, and she'll tell you that there are lots of other people who will need help too. From this point forwards side quests will be available to you, these give you a variety of new features, such as extra leaders, financial rewards and special items. However I will cover all of these in the side quest section, so for now on with the main questline. Talk to the Bartender again and he'll tell you about a place called Celepaleis, go to the world map and a new location will now be available. =============================================================================== 3.07 Celepaleis =============================================================================== Celepaleis has a few new items available in the shops, however your first port of call should be the Apprentice Craftsman. He's to your right and up a bit and has a quest icon above his head. Talk to him and you'll see a short cut scene, after its done talk to him again and he'll tell you he needs some Light Metal before he can do any customization work. If you go to the city map you'll now be able to access the Lamberro District. Head to the pub there and the Apprentice Craftsman will be inside to your right. Talk to him again and he'll introduce you to Mr. Diggs. You'll then be warped to the Gaslin Caves. =============================================================================== 3.08 Mr Diggs - Gaslin Caves =============================================================================== Enemies: Rosefly Manticore Harvesting Items: Light Metal Gaslin Copper Reward: 1000 gold Head straight up the path and you'll see your first harvesting point to the right, its a small patch with flickering lights and an ! icon above it. Run up to it and press A and Mr. Diggs will try to harvest from it. You should easily get the item you require. As soon as you do you'll be warped back to Celepaleis and receive your reward. A soldier with a quest bubble will now appear in the pub, talk to him and he will tell you that Lord David has summoned you to the castle in Athlum, before you go you might want to stop off in Grants Way and have a quick look at item customization. Now would be a good time to go hunting for the few items you need to upgrade your weapons or shields and gain a battle rank or two in the process. After your done, head back to Athlum to see Lord David. A short cutscene later and you'll have a fancy new set of duds for you to show off plus David and Torgals squads will join your party. Head back to the world map and you'll now have access to Blackdale After entering Blackdale a short cutscene will play and you'll go straight into a boss fight ****************************************************************************** Jager HP: 6.3k Attacks: Basic only A fairly simple battle, the two guest unions are pretty powerful, so they'll actually provide a bit of help. Reinforcements will enter this battle, so rather than take out the minions as quickly as possible try to concentrate your attacks on Jager to finish him off, then work on the minions. ******************************************************************************* After the battle you'll venture into Blackdale =============================================================================== 3.09 Blackdale =============================================================================== Enemies: (Giant) Spider: Cavalry Call Skull Scavanger Hypnos Harvesting Items: Copper Ore Natural Oil Stone Ischion Morsel Treasure: Chest 1: Combat Francisca - 1 Weapon Recipe 3 Chest 2: Restoleaf x 3 Cureleaf x 3 Relaxing Herb x 6 Chest 3: Blackdale Map 1 Walk straight ahead and take the left at the t junction as the right passage is blocked at the moment. At the next T junction you can head right to reach a dead end with a dig point containing copper ores and natural oil. Carry on down the main path and you should see your first treasure chest containing a combat francisca and a no 3 weapon recipe. Just past this is another dead end to your left, here you'll find a dig point containing stone, however it can occasionally alert nearby monsters, causing them to follow you everywhere. Carry on down the main path and over the stone bridge and you'll see another dead end to your right. Follow this and you'll reach the second treasure chest containing three Restoleaf's, three Cureleaf's and six Relaxing Herb's, this is also the area the Dominator spawns, a guild quest rare. See the guild quest's section for details. Keeping heading along the path and you'll enter the Sapphire Pit. As soon as you enter you'll be at a t junction, the right path is another dead end which may hold an excavation point. Carry on down the main path and you'll reach a section where the path widens, here you'll find the third treasure chest, this contains Blackdale Map 1. Just past this chest should be an excavation point containing an Ischion Morsel. Morsel's are special items Mr Digg's eats, they restore his dig count and increase it by one point. You might want to save at this point. Carry on down the path to enter a new area and trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene you'll enter a boss fight. ******************************************************************************* Fiery Idol Multi Deadlock x 3 HP: 8k Attacks: Phelegethon - AOE Small Flare - AOE Small Inferno Insignia - AOE Large This is a slightly harder fight simply due to the increased strength of the minions and the AoE attacks of the Idol. As usual take out the minions ASAP and keep your health up. His Inferno Insignia attack is a huge pain as it will attack all unions and do a significant amount of damage, and if your unions die its game over, even if the guest unions survive. After he's into critical damage he also starts to use the Flare attack rather than normal attacks. I was at battle rank 8 with one union with 939hp for this fight, so it can be done with quite a poor group, however if you find it too difficult it might be worthwhile leaving blackdale for a bit and grinding at Robelia or Gaslin. ******************************************************************************* After another cutscene you'll find yourself back at Athlum Castle, after all the cutscenes here are done David and Torgal's squad will leave your party. Head on to any part of town and look for an Athlumian Guard with a quest bubble and he'll tell you to head back to the castle again as David has some information for you, so head back to the castle. A cutscene will play and you'll be asked to head on to Elysion. After the cutscenes your units will get an upgrade again. You can now have three unions, nine troops in a battle, four leaders in a battle, ten leaders in the party and recruit ten soldiers from the officer in the town square. So your first priority is to head to the town square and start hiring. Personally I prefer three unions of three troops, however you might find two unions preferable, its up to you. Finally when hiring troops try to make sure they can all use invocations or evocations, basically later on in the game when you have more AP if every union uses the same stle of magic attack (e.g. they all use an invocation art) you'll release an arcana attack. In the case of Invocations this means they'll use an art called blackout which damages every enemy union for a fair bit of damage. I haven't been able to confirm yet if this works for Evocations, or Psionics or any other type of mystical art. As a side note, I originally thought this could only be done on Disk 2 (this is where you start to see the load screen info on Arcana) however I recently used Blackout during the battle at eagle nest so obviously you can use it during disk 1. This is a good point in the game to start tracking down side quests and guild quests, check the relevant sections for info on these quests. Once your done head on to the world map and make your way to the ivory peaks. =============================================================================== 3.10 The Ivory Peaks =============================================================================== Enemies: (King) Raptor: Charge - AOE Small Demon: Multi Deadlocks x 3 Rosefly: Poison Sting - Poison Cavalry Call Harvesting Items: Timber Vine Natural Oil Ebru Seeds Insect Egg Cluster Treasure: Chest 1: Ivory Peaks Map Chest 2: Ballista Formation Chest 3: Leraje Princeps Wayfarer's Ward Almost as soon as you enter the Ivory Peaks you'll run into a harvesting point just in front of the two raptors, this point contains timber, vine and natural oil, it can also hit you with a charm aura. Head on further down the road following as it curves to the left and you'll see a tree with a second harvesting point, this contains timber, natural oil and Ebru Seeds. From the tree go right and you should see a ramp leading down to the sunken area. Head down this and towards the right and you will come to an enclosed space with the first treasure chest, this contains the ivory peaks map. Hug the right wall all the way around until you see a wavering mosaic on the wall, just in front of this is the third harvesting point, this contains timber and insect egg clusters a little bit beyond this you'll run into the second treasure chest, this contains the Ballista formation. Carry on hugging the right wall and eventually you'll see the third chest on your left, this contains a Leraje Princeps and Wayfarer's Ward. Head on from here keeping to the right and eventually you'll reach the exit to the world map, this will open up Elysion. =============================================================================== 3.11 Elysion =============================================================================== After the cutscene you'll find yourself on the city map, make your way to the Assembly Plaza, go straight ahead, hang a left up the stairs and go straight ahead down the next set of stairs and you'll see a door leading to the Academy Entrance hall. In here you'll see a woman in front of you with a quest bubble, speak to her to find out that your parents are stuck in the sacred lands. ###Item Warning### Turn right here and follow the path to your left, you'll see a woman looking at a tall pot plant, if you speak to her she'll hand you an academy visistone, as the game progresses the woman will hand you up to fifty of these, however, they are special items so you can't get rid of them and all they do is give you a tiny bit of information on enemies and remnants. So feel free to avoid them. Head back to the city map and make your to Tula Street for another cutscene, after this make your way back to Assembly Plaza, take the stairs up, turn right and you should see a Court Lady with a quest icon, talk to her and you'll get a further cutscene. Up the stairs and to the right to head into the Ark Gate and you'll trigger yet another cutscene and find yourself in the sacred lands. This area is pretty linear, just follow the path as theres no treasures or monsters in this area. You'll reach a new area and see a device in front of you, use this and carry on following the path using any devices your see until you eventually reach a large door, through this and into yet another cutscene. After these you'll find yourself back at the Elysion city map, head on to the Genaade District, go straight ahead up the steps and you'll enter the temple, from here go to the left and you'll see a Qisti Monk Warrior with a quest bubble, talk to him to gain access to the Catacombs. =============================================================================== 3.12 The Catacombs =============================================================================== Enemies: Albic Qsiti: Bindbreath - AOE Small, causes blackout (SS) Pest: Squash II - AOE Small Grand Beetle: Multi Deadlocks x 2 Squash II - AOE Small (Greater) Nymphalidae Slap II - AOE Small (King) Chimera Harvesting Items: Shadow Metal Steel Ore Beastman's Coin Rough Sylph Stone Withered Parchment Urn Oilfly Omos Morsel Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Weapon Recipe 21 Chest 2: Catacombs Map 1 Chest 3: 3,200 Gold Chest 4: Beastman Ale x 4 Fresh Oil x 4 A quick warning before you carry on, the monsters are here are considerably stronger than those you've faced before, unless you've been level grinding, so save often. Go straight ahead, down the stairs and through the main doors, follow the path to your right, through the door and along the corridor, you'll hit another door, go through this to reach the eastern area. Follow this corridor along and you'll reach the first harvesting point in this area, it contains shadow metal and steel ore. Head into the next room and the doors will slam shut, trapping you in with two albic qsiti, once they've been defeated the doors will open and you can carry on. Through the next corridor and into the room and on your right you'll find the first treasure chest containing Weapon Recipe 21. Leave the room and follow the corridor, and eventually you'll reach a T Junction, to your right you'll see a depression filled with fog. This fog slows you down to a walk but enemies can still run making it easy to ambush you. There should be an excavation point there, this contains an Omos Morsel, increasing Mr. Diggs count by another point. Carry on to the circular room and again a door will slam down, this time however another door will open. In this room there is also a dig point containing Beastman coin's, shadow metal and steel ore but this point can also alert near by monsters. Go through into the next room and defeat the Nymphalidae's and Albic Qsiti's, this room is also the location for Sledgehammer, a guild quest rare monster, head on through to the next room and hang a right, through the closed door and follow the path around to the next chest, containing the catacombs map. Head back and through the unopened door and down the path until you hit another long patch of fog, halfway down is an alcove to your left, theres a harvesting point here containg rough sylph stones and withered parchment. Head up the ladder here to reach the third treasure chest containing 3,200 gold. Head back along the path and up another ladder and you'll eventually hit a door leading back into the central area. Follow the path and you'll run into another fogged area, past this and through the door to find yourself back in the starting room on the other side of the cavern. Turn left immediatly and you'll find the fourth treasure chest containing four Beastman Ales and four Fresh Oils, theres also a harvest point a little further on in the center of the room containing steel ore, Oilfly and urn's. Head through the door, down the stairs and through the next door into the large open area, carry on through the next door and you'll see a transporter to your right. Head up to the door ahead and on into the next room, at the very end is a harvesting point containing withered parchments, rough sylph stones and rough Oberon stones. Theres a doorway to your left covered by four groups of Albic Qsiti, these are chained to the door but they will all attack you when you initiate a fight, so make sure you save before attacking them. If you have real difficulty I'd suggest heading off and doing some level grinding, and make sure your items are the best you can customise to at the moment. After you've defeated the Qsiti head through the door they were blocking to trigger another cutscene. After the cutscene is finished you'll be automatically sent back to Hendler in Elysion. Head straight forwards and you will see Emma with a quest bubble, talk to her and she'll take you to the numor mines. =============================================================================== 3.13 Numor Mines =============================================================================== Enemies: Quien Dagon Feralwood: Natural Gas - AOE Small, poison (Grand) Rockgrater Harvesting Items: Shadow Metal Rough Sylph Stone Steel Ore Rough Alp Stone Vackrel Iron Rouch Cuchulainn Stone Urn Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Commanders Rapier Chest 2: Avalanche Formation Chest 3: Numor Mine Map 1 Chest 4: Stone of Marshall The first thing you'll notice in this area is that you've lost all of your party members and soldiers, fortunatly if you decide to return to Elysion your party regroups. Now you can choose to split your union into two single unions, however this invites defeat in detail as your health will be pretty low. I'd recommend putting your party into a formation that keeps them pretty far apart, the Cup of Celapaleis is a pretty good option, but its worthwhile checking the others out. There are also reduced enemies here to help keep you from being too overwhelmed, but make sure you pick your battles carefully. Head straight along the path, the door to your right holds nothing at the moment so feel free to bypass it. On your right hand side you'll see an elevator, a platform with a wheeled contraption in the middle. Press A on the lefthand side to grab the lever. You need to constantly click the left stick back to move the platform down. At the bottom of the lift turn right to grab the first treasure chest containing a Commander's Rapier. A little further beyond this in the dead end is the first harvesting point containing shadow metal and rough sylph stones. Turn around and head up the path, the side path to your right leads to a dead end, so keep heading straight, at the top hang a right, the first side path to your left has a harvesting point at the entrance containing Shadow Metal, Steel Ore and Rough Alp Stones however it can also alert nearby monsters. Carry on up the main path ignoring another side path on your right and you'll hit a door, go through here and down the elevator to the undeveloped zone. Go through the doorway and straight ahead you'll find a harvesting point containing Shadow Metal and Vackel Iron. Back a bit and to your left is another elevator down, becareful using this as Dagons can catch you by surprise on your way down. The elevator stops at two locations on the way down. Get off at the first location and head to the back of the room to find the second treasure chest containing the Avalanche Formation upgrade. Get back onto the elevator and you can head down to the second stop, this area occasionally contains Rockgraters, you need to kill these for a later guild quest, so its worth taking some out if you can see them there now. At the rear of this area you'll also find a harvesting point containing Rough Alp Stones, Rough Cuchulainn Stones and Vackel Iron Head back to the elevator and ride it down to the bottom of the shaft, here take a left to a dead end with treasure chest number three containing Numor Mine Map 1. Turn around and head up the path, the first turning on your left holds a harvesting point containing Rough Alp Stones, Vackel Iron and Shadow Metal. Carry on up the path until you reach another fork in the road, the right path holds a treasure chest at the end containing the stone of marshall, this is another key remnant similar to the Slayer Stone you used in the ruins of Robelia Castle. Go back to the fork in the path and follow it along to yet another fork, on the right is a harvesting point containing Urns, Rough Alp Stones and Rough Cuchulainn Stones. Take the left fork and follow this to the end, you'll encounter a teleporter to take you back to Elysion and a sealed doorway, this would be a good point to save. Unlock the door and get ready to face the boss. ******************************************************************************* Namul Sin & Niram Sin HP: 8k Attacks: Heavensflight - AOE Small Theres not a huge amount of strategy with this boss, just keep on plugging away and keep your health up. His HP is fairly low, so use combat or mystical arts where you can and if your lucky, launch an omnistrike. ******************************************************************************* After the fights over you should receive Triumph Belt as a reward, its a pretty good accessory for Rush if your using combat arts & a sword as it increases his Strength (increasing damage) and gives a +2 to his sword, also increasing damage. If not hold on to it and one of the other characters will probably ask you for it at some point. =============================================================================== After the battle a cutscene will play and you'll find yourself back in the tunnel. Use the transporter and it will return you straight to Athlum. Your maxium unions will now be upgraded to four, you can use 12 units in a battle, five leaders in a battle, hold 12 leaders in your party and recruit 15 Athlumian soldiers. Take the time to reorganise your unions. I personally prefer 3 unions of four soldiers, but go with whatever feels best. Head on to the world map and make your way to the Heroic Ramparts. =============================================================================== 3.14 Heroic Ramparts =============================================================================== Enemies: (Giant) Shellfly Poison Sting II - Poison Jhana (Arch)Magus Misericorde Laserbreath - AOE Small Harvesting Points: Equiselum Titicaca Leaf Brachion Morsel Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Marauders' Glave Chest 2: Heroic Ramparts Map Chest 3: Greaves of Growling Chest 4: Medal of Strength Weapon Recipe 26 Weapon Recipe 27 Follow the path straight ahead towards the trees and where the path splits, just to the left is a harvesting point containing Equiselum and Titicaca Leaf, it can also give you a terrify aura. Follow the dirt path that heads off to the left all the way until your through the gate, turn towards your right and head for where the river joins the hillside, here you'll find your first treasure chest containing the Marauders' Glaive formation. Turn around and head all the way back to the original split in the path in the beginning area. Take the path that heads off to the right, and go through the gate in the ramparts wall. Turn to your left and hug the wall, following it as far as you can go and you'll come to the second treasure chest, this contains the Heroic Ramparts map. Turn around and hug the riverbank, you'll see a couple of trees, between the nearest tree and the riverbank is an excavation point containing a Brachion Morsel. Head all the way over to the right and up into the little side area next to the keep section (if you look at the map its the area to the right of the section boxed in by walls, bisecting the river) here you'll find a treasure chest containing some Greaves of Growling. Head back around and into the keep. Later on in the game this is the location of the Jhana Royals if you have the downloadable content for the game. In the top left hand corner of this area is the fourth treasure chest, which contains three medals of strength, weapon recipe 26 and weapon recipe 27. Head through the gate and follow the main path all the way to the end and this will take you back to the world map, unlocking Nagapur. Please note there's a second exit to the heroic ramparts close to where you picked up the Marauder's Glave formation, this exit will unlock the city of Ghor for some further side quests. Once you've entered Nagapur you'll find yourself in Flussbahn. Go straight ahead and down the stairs, then hang right at the first pier, at the end you'll see a dock worker with a quest bubble. Talk to him and a short cutscene will play. After you've had your marching orders head back to the city map and make your way to Sudenalm. Follow the right wall around and you'll see Pagus standing by a shop with a quest bubble. Talk to him and tell him you've seen everything then head back to the city map and on to Nordenalm. Go straight ahead and you'll see a big tree planter to your left, Emma is on the left hand side of this. Talk to her and tell her your ready then make your way back to Flussbahn, a cutscene will play then you need to head back to Sudenalm, theres another large tree planter, head for this and behind it is a guy called Oswald with a quest bubble, run over and talk to him then yet again go back to Flussbahn for another cutscene. ############################################################################### Missable potential sidequest warning! (SV41) There is a small chance that there is a side quest that can be missed out here in the various cities you've been to so far there is a warrior woman running around with a quest bubble. I've been avoiding all sidequests so far in the main game, instead wanting to concentrate on writing the FAQ, but I know she disappears soon. Basically she gives you a new line of dialogue in every city you speak to her. For example if you speak to her for the first time in Celepalais the dialogue line will be exactly the same if you speak to her for the first time in Nagapur, but if you spoke to her in celepalais you'll get different dialogue in Nagapur. I don't know if this is an actual quest - I didnt pursue it on my first play through and its going to be quite a while before i come back to check this so just in case I thought I'd warn you guys first. ############################################################################### Head to the world map and make your way to Athlum castle, after a cutscene Emma will leave your party, so remember to rearrange union's if she was a member. This would be a good point to save the game, then head to the world map and make your way to the Nest of Eagles. =============================================================================== 3.15 Nest of Eagles - Big Boss Battle =============================================================================== Enemies: 3 Unit Strike Squad x 3 2 Unit Strike Squad x 1 2 Unit Escort Squad x 1 Restorative Tincture - Heals itself and other units 3 Unit Magus Squad x 2 Silencer - AOE Small - Causes Silence Poison - AOE Small - Causes Poison Blackout - AOE Large - Very rare but does high damage to everyone Head to the Nest of Eagles and you'll immediatly get into a boss style fight. This is the first (unless you count the very first battle) of the big boss battles, essentially there are lots of enemy minions with (in this battle) two Boss Units. In the enemy list above I've listed all of the enemy units and any attacks you need to watch out for, I'll detail the two bosses below. Strategywise you should begin by sending all of your unions after the enemies C & D unions at the beginning. As soon as you move you'll receive a unit of Celepalis soldiers as a reinforcement and the enemy will receive a magus squad as reinforcement. The Celepalis soldiers are next to useless however and really only fill the role of meat sheild for the fight. C & D have about 4k health, so you should take them out pretty quickly, after they're done the enemies will get reinforcements, but the best bet here is to stay on your toes and do any healing you need until you AP is maxed. If any of the enemy units move towards you take them out as quickly as possible, this allows you to take them on one at a time rather than having to deal with loads of them at once. ******************************************************************************* Roeas HP: 10k Attacks: Midnight Sun - High Damage to one unit Overdrive - Allows multiple attacks Roeas has a pretty strong attack but fairly low defence, she also can't multi deadlock, so ideally you'd seperate her and then swarm her with unions. Her midnight sun attack can be frustrating, particularly when the other enemy minions flank attack you, but just keep pounding on her and eventually you should get rid of her with no serious problems. ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* Castanea HP: 23k Attacks: Victory Cry - reduces morale Kilohit - AOE Medium Catapult - AOE Small Overdrive - allows multiple attacks Castanea is a little bit harder to fight, his HP is higher, his attacks are pretty strong and they can insta-KO a soldier and while Roeas is still alive he'll use Catapult to do some pretty hefty damage. You can take him out before Roeas or clean up everyone else then keep a union back to use as healers/revivers whilst the other two dish out the damage, your choice really. ******************************************************************************* Both of the bosses use overdrive as soon as you've defeated one of them, so try to keep a union back as healers/revivers and ideally get them both down to low health before finishing one off. Roeas is definatly easier to defeat however, so try to make sure you take out Castanea first. After the battle is over a cutscene will play, personally I think its one of the best in the game, but meh. After the cutscenes are over you'll have a new leader, be able to create five unions, have 15 people in a battle, have 6 leaders per battle, hold on to 15 leaders and recruit up to 18 soldiers. You'll automatically be transfered back to Athlum Castle, the first thing you should do is reorganise your unions to take advantage of the new troops available. I'd personally suggest three unions with five troops in each but its up to you. At this point I'd suggest taking a break from the questline. Run off and do the sidequests, carry out a few guild quests and some serious levelling is a pretty good idea too. =============================================================================== 5.00 Side Quests =============================================================================== These are set out similarly to the main questline, however they usually feature a quick set of info at the top showing you the quest and the reward. =============================================================================== 5.01 Sidequest Contents =============================================================================== 5.02 Baulson 5.03 Bravery and Loyalty 5.04 Athlum's Witch 5.05 The Trade Route 5.06 Celepaleis's Witch 5.07 A Single Soul 5.08 A Dreaming Rose 5.09 When The Rose Blooms 5.10 Wisdom's Echo 5.11 The Secret Letter 5.12 For Love The Bell Tolls 5.13 The Silent Soul 5.14 The Hero 5.15 The War of a Thousand Years 5.16 Goodbye, Sweet Love =============================================================================== 5.02 Baulson - Missable Quest =============================================================================== Given: Baulson, Warrior's Honor, Athlum Quest: Rescue a child from the Caves Reward: 500 gold Baulson (Unique Leader) Enemies: Rosefly Manticore Baulson will join you as a guest union. Just follow the main cave path to the end and you'll find the child and get into a boss fight. ******************************************************************************* Bandit Leader HP: 1.5k Attacks: Basic attacks only A pretty simple fight, use your main union to take out the minion union, let the guest union attack the bandit leader. The minion has about 700hp so you should take him out in one turn, the leader not much more so you should take him out without having to worry about your HP. ******************************************************************************* After the fight you'll be warped back to the pub in Athlum and receive your reward from Baulson. =============================================================================== 5.03 Bravery and Loyalty - Missable Quest =============================================================================== Given: Emma, Warrior's Honor, Athlum Quest: Destroy the Giant in Robelia Ruins Reward: 1,500 Gold Mano Salia Enemies: Vile Lizard Jhana Fighter Landworm Wild Raptor Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Robelia Ruins Map 2 Chest 2: Fortune Wristlet Chest 3: Aerial Insecta Ale x 4 Fresh Oil x 4 Harvesting Points: Gaslin Copper Natural Oil Translucent Water Stone Light Metal
Go straight ahead and a short conversation will trigger, afterwards you'll find you have access to a new area of the Robelia Ruins, talk to the soldier and he'll tell you to head through the door to the right to reach the giant. However, we're going to ignore his instructions and instead head to the left, follow the path around and eventually you'll hit a set of double doors, go through these and in front of you should be a treasure chest containing map 2 of the Robelia Ruins. Go through the doorway to the right and head up the stairs, follow the large hall around to the right and at the end you'll see a pile of rubble, go to the right of this and theres a harvesting point containing Gaslin Copper and Natural Oil, but be warned, this point can also spray you with a liquid that temporarially decreases your dig count by one. Head to the otherside of the rubble and go through the double doors, carry on through here and the next set of double doors, follow the halls around and you'll eventually go through a set of doors that open into a long narrow corridor. Just to your right is a harvesting point containing Natural Oil, Translucent Water and Stone. At the bottom of this hallway go into the next room and you'll see another harvesting point ahead and to the left containing Light Metal, Gaslin Copper and Natural Oil, this dig point can occasionally fully restore your dig count. Turn right and you should see a chest in the top left corner of the room containing a fortune wristlet, this item increases your HP and I believe gives you bonus items after defeating Jhana. Unbolt the doors and head on through, then hang a right and go down the stairs. Follow the corridor and you'll come to a room full of rubble, follow this around and go through the door at the top to find a chest containing four aerial insecta ale and four fresh oil. Head back out into the main room and follow this around, then down a corridor, in the next room straight ahead is a harvesting point containing stone, gaslin copper and natural oil, this point can also alert nearby monsters. Hang a left and follow the room around down a short corridor and there will be two doors to your right that both lead into the same room. Go into here and you'll see a teleporter, turn left and head down into the corridor and you'll see a harvesting point to your left containing Translucent Water and Natural oil. This would be a good point to save your game, when your ready head through the doors at the end of the corridor and a cut scene will launch, after the cutscene you'll be in a boss battle ******************************************************************************* Third Committee Combat Squad HP: 3.5k Attacks: Basic Only This battle can be a pain, as the two blackwings are tougher than the actual boss, they'll use curse against you during the first round of combat and afterwards they can hit you with Artsap, draining your AP. I'd suggest ignoring the birds and sending your unions against the boss, though they might attack you and curse you. The other option is to have two small unions (two units) attack the birds whilst a 5 strong union attacks the boss, this will stop your main union from getting hit by curse and hopefully keep the birds occupied for long enough to kill the boss. ******************************************************************************* Once your done you'll be warped back to the Town Square in Athlum to receive your reward. =============================================================================== 5.04 Athlum's Witch =============================================================================== Given: Mage-Like Girl, Town Square, Athlum Quest: Purchase a potion from the girl in Athlum (Costs 500 gold) Reward: Fresh Oil Aerial Insecta Ale Enemies: None! Just buy the potion off of her for 500 gold and the quest is completed. =============================================================================== 5.05 The Trade Route =============================================================================== Given: Ambitious Merchant, Warrior's Honour, Athlum Quest: Escort the Surveyor through the Gaslin Caves Reward: Gaslin Copper x 6 Iron Ore x 4 Jhana Alloy x 2 Rough Spriggan Stone x 1 Access to The Great Sand Sea Access to Balterossa Enemies: Jhana Fighters Jhana Shaman Jhana Magus Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Restoleaf x 5 Relaxing Herb x 5 Chest 2: Gaslin Caves Map 2 Chest 3: Mootpoint Weapon Recipe 10 x 1 Harvesting Points: Nage Leaf Oilfly Beastman's Coin Jhana Alloy Iron Ore Steel Ore Beast Scale Mystic Fiend Scale Head up the path from the Gaslin Caves and take the first right, you'll pass into a new area and just in front of you is the surveyor. You can follow him or just run on ahead. After a short walk he'll offer you a choice, if you tell him to wait there will be no enemies, but if you send him ahead you'll run into a small group of Jhana Fighters. A little further on you'll reach a fork in the road, head right to miss the Jhana, head left to get into a fight with some Jhana Shaman. Further ahead is a similar choice to the first one, with similar answers, tell him to wait to skip the fight or tell him to go on to fight some Jhana Magus. Carry on down the path and you'll see a treasure chest to your right, this contains 5 x Restoleaf and 5 x Relaxing Herbs at the next fork in the road he'll ask you where to go again, head right to get into a fight with some Jhana Fighters, head left to miss them. If you chose to fight them head back up the sidepath quickly to find the second chest containing Gaslin Caves Map 2 and a harvesting point containing Nage Leaf, Oilfly and Beastman's Coins, this spot will also tend to give you a charm aura. Carry on down the tunnel and after a bit you should see a harvesting point on your left, this also contains Nage Leaf, Beastman's Coins and Oilfly. Just past this theres another option, if you chose to take them on the Jhana runs away, if you wait and see then you end up fighting four union's of Jhana Fighters. A few more steps forward and theres another harvest point on the left, this time containing Jhana Alloy, withered parchment, Iron Ore and Steel Ore it can also alert nearby enemies. Just past this there's yet another harvest point on the right, this time containing Beast Scale and Mystic Fiend Scale. Carry on down the path and he'll offer you a final choice, this time however select go on to miss the fight or wait to get into a fight with four Jhana Fighter Unions. Near the end of the tunnel is the third treasure chest containing Mootpoint and weapon recipe 10. Just past here and you can exit out to the Great Sand Sea and receive your reward. If you haven't been to the Sand Sea yet then just go pretty much straight to exit back to the world map. Just as a side note, the reward doesn't change if you skip the fights, so feel free to do whichever you prefer. =============================================================================== 5.06 Celapaleis's Witch =============================================================================== Given: Mage-Like Girl, Grants Way, Celepaleis Quest: Purchase a herb from the girl in Celepaleis (Costs 1000 Gold) Reward: Cureleaf x 7 Relaxing Herb x 7 Enemies: None! It's the same girl you met in Athlum only now she's stuck in Celepaleis, just buy the herb off of her to complete the quest. =============================================================================== 5.07 A Single Soul =============================================================================== Given: Rhagoh, Amber Tavern, Celepaleis Quest: Check on the guy picking flowers in the forest. Reward: 5,000 Gold Rhagoh (Unique Leader) Enemies: (Giant) Shellfly Dissonence - AOE Small, causes paralysis Poison Sting II - AOE Small, causes poison Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Cuchulainn's Heart Chest 2: Darken Forest Map 1 Harvesting Points: Televa Vine Surgill Bulb's Head up the path until you reach a turning to the left, take this as the path straight ahead leads to a dead end at the moment. Carry on along this path and you'll see another turning to the right, carry on going straight and follow the path to the end, on the other side of the large tree trunk is a chest containing Cuchulainn's Heart. Head back down the path and take the turning you skipped earlier (first turning to the left) and you'll walk down a short slope, at the bottom turn right, hugging the wall and you'll hit a harvesting point with Televa Vine and Surgill Bulb's. Carry on following the wall and you'll hit the second treasure chest, containing the Darken Forest Map 1. Keep on following the wall until you enter an area thats a bit of an offshoot (if you look at the map its the section at the top that sticks out to the right.) Cross over to the left hand wall and keep close to it going north, here is a harvesting point containing Zale Timber and Surgill Bulb's. After you've harvested anything you wanted, head into the middle of the area to speak to Rhagoh's Acquaintance, after a brief bit of conversation you'll be in mini boss fight, without the boss. Its not a particularly difficult fight, just keep an eye out for the Feralwood slamming you with poison attacks. If you've done this quest when I suggested you take a break from the main storyline then you should have no problems defeating the enemy. After the fight you'll have the option to read a letter in the man's pocket, this gives you a bit more background on Rhagoh and Kate and as far as I can tell doesnt affect anything else, so feel free to read it, the quest reward stays the same either way. =============================================================================== 5.08 The Dreaming Rose =============================================================================== Given: Baron Nielsen, Amber Tavern, Celapaleis Quest: Find the Barons Missing Wife Reward: Gaslin Copper x 2 Natural Oil x 3 1,000 Gold Enemies: Raptor This quest is fairly easy, if you followed my guide you should have a map of the area, open this up your looking for the most southwestern point where the Timber and Insect Egg Clusters harvesting point was. Head straight here and you'll see the Barons Wife, Violet and Gabriel looking at the Liafort. As a side note, during the Marion's Blessing side quest you get a remnant here. After you've spoken to them a mini boss fight similar to that in 5.07 will launch, but this time Violet and Gabriel will join you as a guest union. After another conversation you'll return to the Baron in Celapaleis =============================================================================== 5.09 When the Rose Blooms =============================================================================== Given: Baron Nielsen, Ambert Tavern, Celapaleis Quest: Find the Barons Wife again. Reward: 2,000 Gold Access to Sword of the Three Realms Guild Gabriel (Unique Leader) Violet (Unique Leader) Enemies: Rosefly Poison Sting - AOE Small - poison attack Pinprick - InstaKO one unit. Manticore Wyvern Dust Devil II - AOE Medium Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Beastman Ale x 4 Fresh Oil x 4 Chest 2: Gaslin Caves Map 3 Chest 3: 2,000 Gold Follow the main path to the end, the same location you went to find the kidnappers in Baulson's Quest, you'll find that the Caves now go much deeper however, but the path is still very linear. Follow the path along and you'll come to a T junction, turn right here and you'll see a treasure chest containing four Beastman Ales and four Fresh Oils. Turn around and follow the path and eventually you'll pass into a new area, the Canal of Repentence. Follow the path ahead until you reach a T-Junction. The left path is a dead end, but it holds a treasure chest containing the third Gaslin Caves Map. If you check the map you'll see at the very end of the path is a blue dot, this is our objective. Keep on following the path until you reach a split in the road. If you take the left path it leads down to a teleporter, so keep following the main pathway. You'll reach a small circular area that bisects the pathway, in here is a treasure chest containing 2,000 Gold. Eventually you'll reach Gabriel, the first choice doesn't make a difference, for the second option choose to help him and he'll take you back to Celapaleis, when you arrive you'll get into another mini boss battle with some Wyverns, some Manticores and Vile Lizards. Violet and Gabriel will join you again. Again, this is a fairly easy fight, just keep an eye on your health and bash away at them and you should have no problems. After the battle you'll be warped back to the Amber Tavern to receive your reward. =============================================================================== 5.10 Wisdom's Echo =============================================================================== Given: Old-Fashioned Woman, Pub Drachenhauch, Nagapur Quest: Take Glenys to find the ancient warrior. Reward: Honor of Oath Batwings Formation Glenys Unique Leader Enemies: (Greater) Flauros Venom Mist - AOE Medium - causes poison Vicious Plant Natural Gas - AOE Medium - causes poison Vile Plant Vulture Dust Devil II - AOE Medium Arachnid Donda Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Heatershield Superior Necklace Chest 2: Chisel, formation upgrade Chest 3: Aveclyff Map 1 Chest 4: Leapfrog, formation upgrade. Chest 5: Ring of the Patient Ear Charm Recipe 5 x 1 Harvesting Points: Gaster Morsel Opsis Morsel Upon entering Dillmoor Gleny's will join you as a guest union and give you the plateau key follow the same route as you did for the first time you entered Dillmoor, up the hill and over the bridge. At the bridge you want to turn right instead of left, however, head up to the hill and at the third set of columns, to the right of the broken column is an excavation point containing the Gaster Morsel, increasing Mr. Diggs count by one. Carry on to the top of the hill and hiding behind a column behind the rubber soul is a treasure chest containing Heatershield and a superior necklace. Head back down the hill, go past the turning to the bridge and follow the path around until you come to a large double door set into the side of the hill. Use the plateau key and follow the path around until you reach another door. After a quick chat with Evelyn follow the path straight ahead. We need to make our way down to the bottom of this area, but the paths are broken and the lifts are out of order. Head to the left and go through the first door, straight ahead is a treasure chest containing Chisel, a formation upgrade. Turn right and head through the door, this room should be the room that spawns Whitehorn, a guild quest unique, but he doesnt appear on disk one, keep on going straight through the next door. Here you'll need to go around the piles of rubble, then turn right, head up the corridor and through the door to get back to the central region. Turn right and you'll see a lift that leads down to the second level. Turn right and take the first doorway, go down the corridor and head to the right to find a treasure chest containing Aveclyff Map 1. Turn around and follw the hallways till you hit the third corridor along, then take the door here back to the central region. Turn right and head straight across, go through the other doorway to get back into the side halls. Turn left and head through the doorway, then take the first side corridor you come to, heading back out to the central area. Turn left here and ypu'll find an elevator that takes you down to the bottom level, turn right and follow the path all the way around to reach a chest containing Leapfrog, a formation upgrade. Take the first doorway you can and follow the halls around to the north eastern point to find a chest containing a Ring of the Patient Ear and Charm Recipe 5. Leave through the doorway back to the central area and turn right, follow the path around, take the first doorway you come to, between the second and third pillar on the right hand side is an excavation point (there may be a donda sitting on top of it) containing an Opsis Morsel, increasing Mr. Diggs count. Follow the halls around and the next room contains a teleporter, head back into the main area and again, turn right following the pathway around until you can head down the stairs. In this lower area are loads of pests, this is a great place to chain together lots of enemies, and you can easily reach a chain of 200+ for both the achivement and the chains of steel guild quests, as the enemies will automatically respawn, I'd strongly suggest doing this now as it can be a pain to do it in any other location. Once your satisfied with your chains you need to make the enemy boss spawn, you do this by getting as many of the landworms to follow you as possible, you can do this by aggropulling them (get near them and pull RT without being close enough to launch a battle) but whilst this works well for the first few you often find you've actually launched a battle. I find the best method is to use timeshift to tag lots of them, then run around until it recharges, fortunatly landworms are fairly slow, so its pretty easy to dodge them. Once you have the majority following you you'll see a vile plant type creature start to appear near the blocked stairs, simply run into him to initiate battle. ******************************************************************************* Mantroskylo HP: 35k Attacks: Silencer - AOE Medium - causes silence He'll start the battle with a union of landworms and a spiritlord assisting him, send one union after the landworms, another after the spiritlord and the third union after Mantroskylo. Watch out for the curse attack of the spiritlord, its a pain to deal with and will usually end up killing or botching a union, make sure the union attacking it isnt the only union with a revive skill. His silencer attack can be pretty devastating to a union, but as long as you keep your hp up and pound him he shouldn't be too difficult. Admittedly I was at BR 40 for this, so if he does prove to be too hard a bit of grinding might be in order. (Chaining together lots of landworms is actually pretty good for this, I was fighting groups of 7 - 10 at a go and rapidly increasing my BR) ******************************************************************************* Once the fight is over you'll warp back to Nagapur for your reward. =============================================================================== 5.11 The Secret Letter =============================================================================== Given: Gloomy Man, The Heavenly Terrace, Elysium Quest: Deliver a letter to Balterossa Reward: Access to The Southwestern Road Access to Balterossa Jade Orb - Grants rush the use of Remedies Enemies: Manticore Vile Plant Aeronite Multi Deadlocks x 2 Acidbreath - AOE Medium Surefire - InstaKO one unit Harvesting Points: Sweet Nectar Nage Leaf Land Insecta Husk Kacz Seed Mystic Fiend Fang Rough Elven Stone Jhana Alloy Iron Ore Treasure Chests: Chest 1: 3,200 Gold Chest 2: Southwestern Road Map Chest 3: Betrothal Band Head back to the main map and you'll see the southwestern road has become available for you, once you've entered the area head straight on until you see a small circular area off to your right, head in there to find a harvesting point containing Sweet Nectar, Land Insecta Husks and Nage Leafs, this spot can also give you a terrify aura. Turn around and continue on, sticking close to the right wall, eventually you'll reach a treasure chest containing 3,200 gold. If you do a 180 from here and cross right over to the other side you should see a large tree to your right at the top of a small hill, theres a harvesting point here containing Kacz seeds and Mystic Fiend Fangs. Head back around and carry on forwards until you eventually hit a bridge, if you turn right here theres a little side area, stick to the left wall and you will hit another harvesting point containing Kacz Seed and Sweet Nectra, this point also regularly gives you a terrify aura. Head over the bridge and as soon as you've crossed it stick to the right, you'll hit a treasure chest containing the Southwestern Road Map. Turn around and head back and to your right and you'll see another bridge, head across this and turn left, head up the hill and at the top is the third chest containing a Betrothal Band. Turn around and head straight down the hill, you'll see another large tree, on the rear of this is a harvesting point containing Sweet Nectar, Nage Leaf and Kacz Seeds. Head off to the right and you'll reach another digging point containing Rough Elven Stones, Jhana Alloy and Iron Ore. Head on down to the bottom of the hill and you'll exit the area giving you access to Balterossa. Enter Balterossa and turn right, the pub is located close to the entrance so you should find it with no problems. Once your inside turn left and you'll see a Cheerful man, talk to him and he'll ask you a question, you can choose either option, it doesn't make a difference. He'll give you your reward, theres no need to return to Elysium as the Gloomy man has left the building. =============================================================================== 5.12 For Love the Bell Tolls =============================================================================== Given: Classy Man, Cafe Moondust, Balterossa Quest: Escort Paris to meet Charlotte in Mojcado Castle Reward: Access to Mojcado Castle Godstone of Love Enemies: Jhana (Arch)Fighter Pest Squash II - AOE Small Jhana (Arch)Shaman Papillion Slap III - AOE Small Dazzle Dander - AOE Medium - Silence effect Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Club Chest 2: Restoleaf x 3 Relaxing Herb x 3 Chest 3: Mojcado Castle Map Chest 4: 2,100 gold Chest 5: Necklace Recipe 2 x 1 Chest 6: Wroth Volcano Formation Upgrade Chest 7: 1,800 Gold Chest 8: Earring Recipe 2 x 1 Chest 9: Elf's Emerald Harvesting Points: Jhana Alloy Vase Fragments Osteon Morsel Mojcado castle is a bit of a maze, lots of rooms linking in to each other and quite a few bits and pieces hidden around, so forgive me for any back tracking I might put you through. Head up the passage a little bit and theres a hallway to your right, head up here and there is another turn off to your left, go through here and turn right and you'll see a treasure chest containing a club. Head back out through the doorway you entered and turn left, keep going straight until you reach a new area, the phoenix section. Follow this hall and you'll eventually hit a harvesting point containing Jhana Alloy and Vase Fragments turn left and go through the door to reach a treasure chest containing three restoleaves and three relaxing herbs. Turn around and head all the way back to the Gateway Section. Hang a right here and follow the corridor up, take the ??? left then take the first right. Follow this up a little bit, the turn right again to reach a room with two wings, turn right and theres a treasure chest containing the Mojcado Castle Map 1. Head back into the hallway, at the t junction turn right, at the next junction turn left. You'll reach the main hallway, turn right here until you reach the crossroads, then hang a left until you reach an exit to the left. Head into this room and bare right to reach a treasure chest containing 2,100 gold. Follow this room around and into the next room, then head on out into the hallway. Head down to the cross roads, carry on straight and take the first right. In this room theres a doorway thats semi hidden in the corner, but the map should show you the location. Head in there to find a treasure chest containing a Necklace Recipe 2. Head back out through the top door, turn left and take the first left turning to reach the senecio section. A quick word of warning, enemies in here are stronger than those in the main area, pests go from having about 300 health to having 1000 health. Head along the corridor and as soon as you enter the first room look to your left to see a world map teleporter. Theres a small room off to the right, but you can ignore this as it doesn't contain anything. Head straight up and turn to the right to find a treasure chest containing Wroth Volcano, a formation upgrade. Turn around and head back to the gateway section. Here go to the t junction and turn left, follow this all the way to the top and then turn right, go straight ahead and take the first left turning to enter the Oath section. Head straight until you hit the crossroads, turn left here and go down a bit until theres a turning off to your right, follow this up and at the very top turn right to see a treasure chest containing 1,800 gold. Turn around and head back to the crossroads. Go straight ahead and you'll see a turning with a narrow hallway off to the right, head down this to reach a treasure chest containing Earring Recipe 2. Head back to the main to the main hall, turn right and head on to the next crossroads. To your right is a transporter. Turn left and head up the hallway. At the T junction turn right and head all the way to the end, you'll find an excavation point containing an Osteon Morsel, increasing Mr Diggs count by one. Turn around and head back until you reach a turning to the right, just past this is a harvesting point containing Jhana Alloy and Vase Fragments, this spot can also alert nearby monsters. Head back to the turning you've just pased and head up it until you reach a fork in the road, take the right fork and head up the hallway and into the first room, head to the right and you'll see a treasure chest containing an Elf's Emerald. Head back to the fork in the road and take the other path, when you reach the section that starts to curl around to the left you might want to save your game. Go on, and after a very short cutscene you'll get into a boss fight. ******************************************************************************* Hitman HP: 5k Attacks: Basic only This isn't a very difficult battle, he's accompanied by two unions of Jhana fighters but they should fall to your unions pretty quickly and he doesn't multi deadlock, so feel free to surround him and pound him until he's down. ******************************************************************************* After your done you'll be warped back to Balterossa for your reward. =============================================================================== 5.13 The Silent Soul =============================================================================== Given: Scaredy-Cat Magus, Cafe Moondust, Balterossa Quest: Touch the poles in order to obtain the deserts treasure. Reward: Access to the Great Sand Sea Godstone of Souls Enemies: Deathclaw Grand Beetle Treasure Chests: Chest 1: Spriggan's Step 1,600 Gold Chest 2: Great Sand Sea Map Chest 3: Despair's Edge Wayfarer's Ward 1,500 Gold Chest 4: Bullseye Formation Upgrade Harvesting Points: Passionbloom Oilfly Speak to the Magus and she'll give you a code to use on the poles in the Great Sand Sea. Once you've finished talking to her you'll be warped to the Great Sand Sea. Go straight ahead and bear off to the right, you'll see a point heading down hill slightly, this leads into a new area, the searing cauldron. A word of warning, the Great Sand Sea is a huge area with very few landmarks, and this particular quest requires lots and lots of running back and forth, so this first section will cover hunting down the treasure chests and any harvesting points then the next section will cover actually doing the quest. Additionally I'll be giving compass point readings to follow on the map, so if you've set your map to move I'd suggest changing the config options to a fixed point. ############################################################################### Treasure and Harvest point hunting section Head down the hill until you've cleared the walls on either side, tuen south east and you should see a large red rock in the distance, head towards this. Eventually you'll hit the edge of the map, turn right and hug this following it as it bears around to the left. You'll wind up on the otherside of the rock, and see a chest containing a Spriggan's Step and 1,600 gold. From here turn around and head due south, going to the left of the large rock until you hit the edge of the map. Turn right and head due west. After a very long walk you should pass between two sand dunes, keep on going until you hit an obstruction (you'll be at the top of a sand dune/sand cliff) turn left and follow the edge down going a south westerly direction and you should see a treasure chest containing the Great Sand Sea Map. If you turn left and follow the hillside along you'll come to a harvesting point containing passionbloom and oilfly. Turn around and head back to the treasure chest. From here head up along the edge of the sand dune until you can head west north west, go in this direction until you see a deep depression in the ground, surrounding a deep hole. Head to the hole and on the left side of it is a treasure chest containing a Despair's Edge, a Wayfarer's ward and 1,500 gold. Head around the depression and go due north until you hit a rock wall. Turn to your right and follow this around and you'll come to a harvesting point containing passionblooms. From here turn right and head due east, the side of the map forms a kind of wave pattern and you need to go along it until you reach the second part of the wave that sticks in. Turn right here and head due south you should immediatly see the fourth treasure chest stuck into the back of the sand dune. This contains the Bullseye formation upgrade. From here head north east until you hit the edge of the map, follow this eastwards until your back to the entry point of the map. ############################################################################### To do this quest you need to touch the four poles in order to show the way to the deserts treasure. There are two sets of poles in the desert, a set that runs West-South-West and a set that runs South. The southern poles have letters and the westerly poles have numbers. Head almost due south to reach the first pole, if you touch it you'll see it holds the letter a, the next is b and so on. So head straight for the third pole in and select it with a. From here head due west, you should be able to see a transporter soon, head for that, go to the left around the sand dune and when your past it you should see two dune tops in front of you. Head for a point between them and keep on going, eventually you'll see a pole thats over at an angle pointing towards the depression in the ground, this is number 4, so make sure you click a on it. Note that if you've gotten number three by accident it doesnt affect anything, just head west and you'll number four pretty soon. Turn around and head east back past pole three and towards pole 2. When you reach pole two turn right a little and you should see a pole on a hilltop, head towards this. This is B so make sure you select it, then turn right so your heading in a generally south direction, you should see two posts, on further and higher than the other, head for this taller one. Once you've crested the dune you should see the next post, this is our goal so head straight for it. Turn around and head due north, you should see a big rock in the distance, head straight for it. When your at the rock turn north east and head straight up the dune, when you've crested it you should see a pole in front of you, this is the next one in the sequence, pole a, so go and click it. Turn left and head west and you should see another pole fairly nearby, this is pole 1, the final pole of the sequence, head straight for it and select it and a short cutscene will play showing a small boy. Turn left a bit and head southwest you'll go past the world map transporter and see two rocks, you want to head for the middle point of these. When your close enough the boy will disappear again and something will appear on the ground. You can't actually see it, but if an exclamation mark doesnt pop up try using left and right on the d-pad to scan for it, you may need to hunt around a bit but it will be between the two rocks on the northern side. Press a and the boy will appear and just as quickly disappear, then you'll warp back to the pub and speak to the Magus and receive your reward. =============================================================================== 5.14 The Hero =============================================================================== Given: Archaeologist, Cafe Moondust, Balterossa Quest: Defeat the undead monster. Turn around and head back to the cross roads, take the next path to your left and follow it down to access the tranquil springs. Head up the path and you'll see a fork in the road, hang a right and follow this path on until you see a turning to your left, head up this to find a treasure chest containing the great subterrane map. Turn around and hang a left at the t junction, carry on up the path until you reach another t junction, theres a plant here to the right with a harvesting point containing Kacz Seed and Nage Leaf, this spot can also give you a terrify aura. Take the left path and follow it through to the end to reach a harvesting point containing translucent water. Turn around and head back to the cross roads and turn left, head down this path until you see a turning to your left, head up here for a treasure chest containing 1,600 gold. Theres only harvesting points after this so if you want to skip them just head back to the unspoken path and skip the next two paragraphs. Turn around and head back to the main path, turning left and following it past the first open area and into the second open area, here you'll see a transporter and a harvesting point containing beast scale, platter fragments and stone, this point can also occasionally fully restore your dig count. Turn to the left and head down to the bottom of the path, in the pool of water is a harvesting point containing Tashlon Shell, Rough Sylph Stone and Rough Elven Stone. Once your done turn around and head all the way back to the entry area, the unspoken path. Head back up the path, the dead end to your left holds a harvesting point at the end containing Sweet Nectar and Nage Leaves. Keep on heading up the path until you reach the t junction, hang a left here and follow the path down until you reach the Sandfall Labyrinth. There are seven winged stele in this area, and you need to activate all of them to gain access to your final destination. However to activate all of them you need to find a divine statue. Follow the path down and you'll see the first winged stele in front of you, turn right here and follow the path until you reach a fork in the road, take the left path and follow it on to reach the treasure chest containing the divine statue key remnant. Follow the path on and to the right and you'll reach a stele, touch it and use the statue to deactivate it. Carry on following the path north and then to the east to reach another stele, deactive this. On your left is a harvesting point containing sweet nectar, nage leaf and large feathers, this point can also give you a provoke aura. Head straight on and you'll pass the fork where you originally went left, keep on going and you'll be back to the first stele, you can deactivate it now. Turn right and head along the side of the sand cliff, theres a turning to the left, but if you carry on past it you'll encounter a harvesting point containing Kacz Seed and Land Insecta Carapaces. This point can also give you a provoke aura. Turn around and head back to the turning you just passed, head up here and almost immediatly you should see another stele, deactivate this. Turn left here and head up the path, at the fork in the road take the right path to find an excavation point holding an Ous Morsel, increasing Mr Diggs count by one. Head back to the stele you just deactivated and take the path to your left, about halfway along you'll see a harvesting point to your right containing Sweet Nectar and Sturdy Vines, this point can also give you a charm aura. Carry on up the path and you'll reach another stele, deactivate this then head straight on, the path to your left is a dead end that doesnt hold anything so you can ignore it. You'll come to a turning to your right, go past this and to your right will be a treasure chest containing a fortune wristlet. Turn around and you see a hanging vine that has a harvesting point containing Kacz Seed and Sturdy Vines. Head back to the turnoff you just passed and follow that along to reach another stele with a transporter nearby. Head left and follow the path around and you should make your way to the final stele, after you've deactivated it a short cutscene will play showing you the appearence of a transporter. Go straight ahead until you reach a fork in the road, take the path to the right and follow it on to reach a treasure chest containing 1,700 gold. Carry on down the path and when you reach the end you'll see an exclamation mark spring up, press A to give you the option to jump down the cliff. At the bottom go forward to the stele then turn left and you should see the teleporter immediatly. These red teleporters are different to the green ones in that they transport you to another place in the dungeon rather than taking you back to the world map, so teleport across to the other side of the chasm. You should see a demon type monster in front of you, behind him is a treasure chest containing a shamshir, but you'll need to head back here to open it. Save your game and head forwards to get into a boss fight. ******************************************************************************* Mantroskylo HP: 9k Multi Deadlocks x 2+ Attacks: Merry-go-round - AOE Medium Surefire - Rarely hits but instaKO's a unit. This boss isn't particularly difficult, there are no enemy minion unions to worry about so just launch a full attack against him. Merry=go=round can be a bit of a pain but just keep your health up and he should fall quickly. The only other thing to note is that he has exactly the same name as the boss in the Wisdom's Echo quest. ******************************************************************************* After the fight is over you'll be warped back to the pub for your reward. =============================================================================== 5.15 The War of a Thousand Years =============================================================================== Given: Conspiracy Theory Nut, Cafe Moondust, Balterossa Quest: Defeat the monster roaming the Great Subterrane Reward: Rough Elven Stone x 1 2,000 Gold Enemies: See 5.14 The details for all treasure chests and harvest points have been given in 5.14, as well as how to create the transporter, so for the purposes of speed this guide will skip all extraneous info and guide you directly to the world map transporter. After speaking to the conspiracy theory nut you'll be warped to the great subterrane, go straight ahead to the first junction and hang a right, follow the path to reach The Sandfall Labyrinth. Go straight ahead to the first stele, if its deactivated then go straight ahead and you should see the transporter, if not follow the guide in 5.14. Once you've teleported across you should see a chimera type enemy in front of you, run into it to start the boss fight ******************************************************************************* Absolute Queen Multi Deadlocks HP: 13.5k Attacks: Basic only Not a difficult fight at all really, there are no minions and I didn't see any special attacks, though admittedly I killed the queen off in about three turns. The only word of warning I'll offer is that shes pretty good at dodging, over three different battles I launched Ex Machina four times and she dodged all of them, so probably best to stick with combat arts and hope for critical chances. ******************************************************************************* After the battles done you'll be warped back to balterossa to collect your reward. =============================================================================== 5.16 Goodbye, Sweet Love =============================================================================== Given: Paris, Cafe Moondust, Balterossa Quest: Escort Paris and Charlotte to the seer. Reward: Bracelet of Grafting 3,000 Gold Enemies: See 5.14 All of the enemies and treasure/harvesting info has been covered in 5.14 so please refer to that for guidance on any extra information. After a short cutscene you'll have two options, choose the first one. Go straight ahead down the path to the first junction, go straight on here until you reach the next junction, here you also want to head straight on until you reach the tranquil springs. Head up the path and where the road forks hang a right, keep on going past the turning to the left until you hit the t junction. Turn right here and follow the path all the way down, ignoring the turning to the left until you reach the end. ******************************************************************************* Seer HP: 12.5k Attacks: Eclipse - AOE Small The seer is joined by two minions of Amoeba's, these guys are more annoying than anything, but you probably want to send two unions off to deal with them whilst leaving the seer up to your third union or hope paris takes him on. The amoeba's have aproximately 6.7k for group b (the four strong minion) and 5k for group c (the three strong minion) The seer doesn't multi deadlock, so if Paris does take him head on then its just a matter of tapping a until the fights over. ******************************************************************************* After the fight you'll be warped back to Balterossa for your reward. =============================================================================== 5. =============================================================================== Given: Quest: Reward: Enemies: =============================================================================== Guild Quests =============================================================================== Some of the Guild Quests can be a real pain, I have personally done a couple of hundred runs attempting to get unique monsters to spawn. I'll attempt to provide spawn patterns for all of the uniques to give you an idea of what to look for but expect to invest a lot of time in getting them. Also always save before fighting a unique monster. A lot of them drop or split into unique items used for other guild quests, but they wont always give you that item in the end battle screen. For item collector quests I tend not to bother too much with mentioning where to get them, you can refer to my other guide, the common bestiary, for some of them, or theres also a good guide on rare monsters and components that can tell you the rest. For weapons I'll list what and where to buy the base item, then how to customise it to reach the desired weapon, in the case of rare items required for customisation (such as manticore heads for the ramskull) i'll also list where to get ahold of those. =============================================================================== Union of the Golden Chalice =============================================================================== No 1 - Kill 8 Spiders Reward: Cup of Celapaleis Formation No 2 - Kill 6 Nussknackers Reward: Belt Formation No 3 - Kill 7 Crabs Reward: Lotion Formula No 4 - Kill 12 Quien Reward: Blueprint 1 x 4 2,000 Gold No 5 - Kill 6 Jhana Magus Reward: Blueprint 1 x 5 3,500 Gold No 6 - Kill 12 Rockshell Reward: No 7 - Kill 9 Barbarossa Reward: No 8 - Reward: No 9 - Kill 18 Vanargand Reward: Oarfish Weekly No 10 - Reward: No 11 - Kill 10 Hraesvelg Reward: Jewel of Undelwalt Phantom Weekly You can find Hraesvelg in the Heroic Ramparts No 12 - Reward: No 13 - Kill The Dominator, Blackdale Reward: Counteroffensive Formation Attempts to spawn: 79 Availability: As soon as you have access to blackdale. Spawn Location: If you've followed the guide then you'll know but basically turn left at the entrance, follow the path and its up the second pathway on the right. Mob Spawn Pattern: Three spiders, followed by 1 skull scavenger, then an empty area. Normally imps or hypnos spawn in the cavern immediatly after the first skull scavenger. To do a speed run to check go to the left of the first spider, the right of the next two spiders, then enter timeshift as you pass the skull scavenger. With any luck you'll see the hypnos/imps and can make it back past the bird before the timeshift runs out, then head back to the exit. If the area is clear then there should be an excavation point in the area with the imps/hypnos, if there isnt or if theres one just past that area then you've probably spawned the Jade Golem instead. HP: 45k Multi Deadlocks x 3 Attacks: Curse - AOE Small - causes cursed status. Poison gas - AOE Small - Causes poison status Acidbreath - AOE Medium - Causes acid burn status Whirlwind - AOE Medium Drops: Spiritlord Scale Large Feather Splits: Spiritlord Fur Archfiend Talon Archfiend Rawhide Large Feather Notes: Casts curse during the first round, so its probably best to send just one union in against him and have the others wait or attack from afar. His AOE attacks can be a pain, particularly Whirlwind, as this can hit all of your unions for quite a chunk of damage, fortunatly he doesn't seem to use it too often. No 14 - Kill The Bloodthirsty Beast, Ivory Peaks Reward: Union of the Golden Chalice Rank 1 Attempts to spawn: 25 Availability: Disk 1 After completing the Numor Mines Spawn Location: Near the exit to the Ivory Peaks in the sunken area. It looks like a normal raptor, so be sure to use targetting to check. Mob Spawn Pattern: The Demon's will not spawn when the Bloodthirsty beast is present. The first two raptors must be awake when the bloodthirsty beast spawns. HP: 25k Mutli Deadlocks x 3 Attacks: Charge II - AOE Small Drops: Raptor Hide Splits: Raptor Carapace Mystic Fiend Husk Thick Raptor Carapace Elven Core Notes: Be sure to save before fighting the bloodthirst beast, he is one of the few creatures that drops an Elven Core, but won't always drop it, so you can reload if necesary. No 15 - Kill The Void Intruder Reward: No 16 - Kill The Sledgehammer Reward: Union of the Golden Chalice Rank 2 Attempts to spawn: 1 (previous game 69) Availability: Disk 1, story progression is needed, but not sure how far. Spawn location: Again, its covered in the walkthrough, but head into the catacombs, take the door to the right, then just keep on following the path into the eastern area. Follow the path again until you reach a fork in the road, take the left fork and its in the room just after the circular room. Mob Spawn Pattern: In the first room with the three Albic Qsiti there should be a moth flying around on the otherside of the crack in the floor .When you reach the third room in the eastern area (the one with the exit to the left) there must be no Grand Beetles or Gluttons present. Unconfirmed: I had this but some people suggest it isnt true. In the first room with the Qsiti there may be an excavation point on the broken stairs to the right (left of the door) if this is present then the sledgehammer has probably spawned. Finally, if you reach this area and there is a unique called The Bandit present then your probably not far enough along in the story. HP: 65k Multi Deadlocks x 3 Attacks: Hammerspin - AOE Medium Provoke - Lowers Defence Drops: Colossus Rawhide Beastman Rawhide Splits: Beastman Rawhide Large Bone Retral Colossus Shell Cuchulainn Core Personally I didn't find him too difficult at BR 41. The biggest pain is his hammerspin attack, it can hit all of your unions if they're all committed. Otherwise keep your health up, if a union is knocked out then revive it asap. If you do have difficulty then you might want to keep one union in reserve for healing/resurrection. Finally his health has been reported as 50k, but it was 65k for me, so watch out for a possibly higher HP than you expected. No 17 - Kill the Ruler of the Dawn Reward: Vile Lizard Weekly Attempts to spawn: 27 Availability: Disk 1, after the numor mines Spawn Location: Near the bloodthirsty beast, its the point where the second demon/evil eye/wyvern spawns. You'll often see a royalguard here which is also a bee
type monster, so be careful not to confuse the two. Mob Spawn Pattern: One of the first raptors must be asleep, no Demons/Wyverns/Evil Eyes can spawn, roseflies were also present, but this may be chance. HP: 14k Attacks: Pinprick II - Can instaKO a unit Drops: Thin Fly Wing Splits: Anthrophilum Needle Aerial Insecta Fluid Thin Fly Wing Notes: This is possibly the easiest unique rare i've faced, his pinprick attack can be annoying, but with such low health you should be able to take him out pretty quickly. Defeating him also gives you the Hero of Dawn achivement. The anthrophilum needle is another guild quest item, so make sure you hold onto it. To spring a unique quest you must talk to a leader several times, it takes some gametime to launch these quests, but you could leave all of them until the end of the game and then run around grinding until they become available. The only exception to this is Emma's quest, which must be done before the Nest of Eagles fight. Finally, most of this is based off of actually playing through the quests, so if i've missed a leaders quest (for example i tend to get rid of Baulson as soon as i've done his quest) please email me and let me know. 1: Baulson Quests: None Availability: Disk 1, after completing the Baulson sidequest.
