INDEX ----- PART 1: What is Super Fighter and where can I get a copy of it? PART 2: What are the system requirements needed to play the game? PART 3: I'm having problems getting the game to run. What now? PART 4: How do I play the game? PART 5: What special attacks does each character have? ----- PART 1: What is Super Fighter and where can I get a copy of it? --------------------------------------------------------------- Super Fighter was created and released by a small, Taiwanese software company in 1993. The company, named C&E INC., went out of business soon after this, and several other of their games were finished. The object of the game is to choose one of eight of the world's strongest fighters and go head-to-head, battling your way to the top. The final boss one must defeat is a British, female criminal who killed a man in cold blood. The winner of the Super Fighters tournament will not only receive acclaim, but also a large cash reward. Super Fighter and all related files can be freely downloaded from The Unofficial Super Fighter Website. The site has two URL's - [http://www.superfighter.com/] and [http://dfg.theunderdogs.org/sfsite/english/]. PART 2: What are the system requirements needed to play the game? ----------------------------------------------------------------- The basic system requirements needed to play Super Fighter are: 386 processor 2mb memory VGA graphics card and monitor MS-DOS v5.0 The recommended system requirements are: 386 processor 4mb memory VGA graphics card and monitor 8-bit soundblaster card MS-DOS v5.0 PART 3: I'm having problems getting the game to run. What now? --------------------------------------------------------------- Since the game was not coded with a CPU speed check, you will most likely need the assistance of a handy utility called 'MoSlo'. This utility is available from the Unofficial Super Fighter Website. Running Super Fighter under Windows 95: Don't try it. Windows doesn't like the game's sound driver, meaning all sound will come out garbled (if the option is on). Your best bet to solve the problem is to restart your computer in MS-DOS mode and run the game that way. Memory problems: Super Fighter uses what is called 'high memory', which a lot of DOS games made before 1995 use. Since most computers allocate high memory upon startup (via the configuration files), Super Fighter may report an 'Out of Memory' error when trying to start itself up. To fix this, either download & install the memory manager 'QEMM' (available from the Unofficial Super Fighter Website), or use MicroSoft MemMaker. PART 4: How do I play the game? ------------------------------- Using the keyboard: Q W E \ | / Punch: Left Alt A - - D Kick: Left Shift / | \ Z X C - OR - 7 8 9 \ | / Punch: Enter 4 - - 6 Kick: Right Shift / | \ 1 2 3 Or by either joystick. The main menu's options are as follows: First selection: Start a one-player game Second selection: Start a two-player game Third selection: Setup options Fourth selection: Exit to DOS The last option in the setup options menu is the "OK" button, and the three before it are the difficulty settings.
