INTRODUCTION G0100 ============================================================================== Welcome to Space Quest 4 for the PC, a classic adventure game by Sierra released in 1991. The walkthrough for this game is complete and includes a point list. By following the walkthrough you will also get all points in the game. OVERVIEW & CONTROLS G0200 ============================================================================== You control Wilco with your mouse, the menu at the top is used for inventory and settings (including save & load) and you can also select the actions from there instead of cycling through them with your right mouse button. Press the bag for your inventory, select the item you want and press OK. It will be part of your mouse icons now until you use it up or change it to another. The right mouse button will cycle through the commands. Use the left mouse button to activate the command. F2 = Sound Toggle F5 = Save F7 = Load F9 = Restart CTRL+Q = Quit The number in the ()s is the amount of points you get during the game and the amount you should have in total if you've been following the walkthrough. They are listed again in the point list for a quick overview. ============================================================================== 03.) WALKTHROUGH G0300 ============================================================================== ___Space Quest XII___ --------------- In Space Quest 12 there are enemies that can kill you. They appear randomly in the screens. The zombie can be avoided by just walking around it. The android will appear when the music changes so quickly exit the screen or hide behind a building or obstacle. Hiding from the android for the first time gives you points (5, 5). After the introduction go right and take the rope (5, 10). Put the rope where the bunny enters the screen and catch it with the trap (10, 20). Go right twice and open the skimmer. Open the glove compartment to take the laptop computer (5, 25). Look at the rabbit and take out the battery from the back (3, 28). Look at the laptop and insert the battery (3, 31). Go up and use the tank. Take the unstable ordnance (25, 56) and put it back (-20, 36). Go right twice and open the grate to enter the sewers (5, 41). Take the jar from the table (5, 46). Press the button under the blotter (10, 56) and watch the hologram projection. Open the door on the left and go straight through until you get to the ladder. Wait very close by and until the slime has caught up. Collect some goo with the jar (5, 61) and quickly climb up the ladder. This might take a few attempts if you weren't standing close enough. At the top you'll see the Sequel Police arriving. Leave the sewers (3, 64) and go east where you can enter the ship underneath the landing gear (5, 69). After you have landed, walk left and enter the pod before the guards spot you (10, 79). Input the copyright protection (not if you are playing the CD-Rom version) and write down the code displayed because you will need to use this later. Use the keypad to enter ?????? and you'll lift off and warp to Chapter 10. ___Space Quest X___ ------------- Press the red button to leave the ship and go left. Walk into the shadow and a bird will fly past. Go back right and down the stairs. You'll be transported to the nest. Wait for the Sequel Police officer to be dropped and search him for a chewing gum wrapper (5, 84). Exit the nest through the hole at the bottom right corner and you'll be caught by the vixen. Walk inside the pod and you'll drive to the cave. After some scenes, press the red button to zap the tentacles (5, 89) and quickly pick up an oxygen tank nearby (5, 94). Then when the sea monster grabs you, throw the oxygen tank inside the monster's mouth (5, 99). You'll all be moving to the Galaxy Galleria. Go right and follow the moving walkway around to find a credit card at the start of the area (2, 101). Go right again and inside the Software store. Look inside the bargain bin and find the Space Quest IV hint book below all the other games. 'Keep' it and give the storekeeper buckazoids (5, 106). Leave the store and go left until the Big and Tall store. Ask the clerk for some clothes and pay him (5, 111). Leave and go right into Monolith Burger. Look at your amount of Buckazoids first, then talk to the manager until he offers you the job. You can either skip this or play the arcade game until the manager fires you (3, 114). The burger building consists of throwing toppings and sauces on the burger and the speed becomes more difficult over time. Slow down the game a little if you need to but you should get enough pay so your total (Pay + $ beforehand) is $60. Back outside, follow the cigar butt right and pick it up at the beginning of the area (5, 119). Go left and enter Sacks. Talk to the robot clerk to change into some female clothing. Pay him the $60 and leave (5, 124). Go right two screens and use the credit card on the ATM. 'Clean House' to get all $2001 (10, 134), then go back into Sacks and walk into the changing room 3, 137). Go east and enter the Arcade. Here you can play Ms. Astro Chicken if you really want to. It's not much better than the horrible game in SQ3. Go to the top right and the Sequel Police will arrive. Avoid the cop that stays in the Arcade and go outside. Turn right until you get the chance to enter the Skate-O-Rama. As soon as you are inside a police man will start shooting you. Peter and Jeremy Spear's (Osborne McGraw-Hill, 1993) have the best solution for this tough to handle part of the game: SKATE-O-RAMA ############ Floppy Disk Version: Walk Roger inside the zero-g zone and immediately begin moving him straight upward. A Sequel Policeman will appear on the stairs behind him and start shooting. Keep Roger moving or he'll be shot. Move upward into the dome of the Skate-O-Rama. After Roger arrives in the dome, so do the Sequel Police. When they show up, move Roger back down to the bottom of the Skate-O-Rama and back to the stairs. Return to the moving walkway and go back to the arcade. CD-ROM Version: Walk Roger inside the zero-g zone and immediately begin moving him straight down. A Sequel Policeman will appear and begin shooting at Roger. Once again, keep moving! The WAIT icon will appear. Start clicking this (and the WALK icon when it reappears) at the very bottom of the screen. Keep clicking--very fast. The trick is to move Roger to the right edge of the screen, and then down. If you make it to the right edge, move straight up. Dodge left a bit to avoid the top-right corner, then move up into the dome. The Sequel Police will follow Roger into the dome before too long. When they show up, move Roger back down to the bottom of the skating rink and onto the stairs. If the Sequel Police don't show up in the dome, move Roger a bit high in the screen, and then down. Once you reach the stairs, head back to the walkway and the arcade. Enter the time pod the police arrived in (15, 152) and write down the code displayed for this time era. Enter the new code you get by combining the SQ4 hintbook page 4 with the chewing gum wrapper (5, 157). ___Space Quest I___ ------------- Press the red button to exit the pod and south. Enter the bar only to be thrown out by the bikers. Push the bikes over to get their attention (5, 162) and go back to the bar afterwards. From now on the bikers might try to run you over so dodge them just before they hit you (5, 167). Take the matchbook inside the bar (5, 172) and return to the ship. Enter the code from the beginning of the game to get back to Chapter 12. ___Space Quest XII___ --------------- Open the door with the red button and go right past the ship you arrived in at the start. Use the jar of slime on the lock (10, 182) ad go through. Light the cigar with the matches and smoke it (10, 192). Use the keypad on the wall and enter the codes for the lasers (15, 207): Laser 1.) 156 Laser 2.) 024 Laser 3.) 108 Walk through the tunnel and quickly look at the terminal nearby. Note it down and return all the way back to the time pod. Enter the code for Chapter 10. ___Space Quest X___ ------------- Open the door with the red button and go into the Radio Shock. Select the Catalog and Electronic Gadgets. Continue until the PocketPal comes up. Order the one that fits to the plug you noted down earlier (15, 222). If you bought the wrong one by mistake you can exchange it. Exit the Radio Shock and return to the pod in the arcade. Use the code to get to Chapter 12. ___Space Quest XII___ --------------- Open the door with the red button and go back all the way to the plug you came to. Use the PocketPal Plug with the PocketPal (3, 225) and use it on the terminal (10, 235). To exit this screen you need to switch off the power on the PocketPal itself. You need to get west to the large building but avoid the droids flying around. When you get there (10, 245) open the door with the code from the SQ4 hintbook - 6965847669 (10, 255). Walk in you'll get a Mac interface. Dump the droid into the toilet (5, 260) and the brain as well (15, 275). A countdown will start until the end of the game. Close the window and follow these directions to get to Vohaul: Right, right, right, up, left, down the steps, left into the elevator, north, right into the tunnel (5, 280). A fight will begin shortly. Whenever Vohaul gets close you need to keep clicking on his back to push him down. After four times you'll have won. Now climb down the ladder to retrieve the disk (5, 285) and insert it into the drive (5, 290) to active an interface. Select Disk Upload to for your son's information, then Beam Upload for Vohaul's information. Finally, select BEAM DOWNLOAD to get your son's info back into his body (25, 315). Watch the long ending.
