This guide is found posted at the following sites: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ ------------------------------------- 1-1. Basic Information About the Game ------------------------------------- ============== WHAT IS BLOOD? ============== Blood is a 1997 PC released game from Monolith Productions where you play as a hunter named Caleb. ========= THE STORY ========= (From the Manual) THE STORY SO FAR.. In an age and a region renowned for cruelty and violence, Caleb was legendary. Born in western Texas in 1847, he had sealed a reputation as a merciless gunfighter by the age of 17. But it was seven years later when he met Ophelia Price that his hunger for bloodshed took on a menacing new timbre. She was already well beyond the bounds of sanity when he found her cowering in the charred ruins of the burned out homestead where her husband and child had perished only days before. It was neither her tattered beauty nor her plight that compelled Caleb to take her in, however-it was the words he picked out of her virtually incoherent mumblings. He learned that her husband had attempted to rescind his membership of the dreaded Cult of Tchernobog and in return cultisis had set fire to the house in the night. Ophelia was filled with rage-not at the cult but at her husband, whose cowardice she blamed for the death of her young son. Ophelia was Calbe's doorway to the Cult and its dark purpose. He could not have known that in time he would come to love her, not that their service to the Cult would find the two of them beloved among the Chosen, elite servants of the dreaming god Tchernobog, the One That Binds, Devourer of Souls. In the Hall of the Epiphany, a temple that spans the chasm between the worlds, the four remaining Chosen stand that the forefront of a procession of worshippers. Tchernobog's presence is felt more than seen-the great, frigid weight of a hunger that spans millennia. He speaks in a cacophony of voices stolen from the dead, summoning the Chosen to the center of the sacrificial ring. They stand before the Dark God, united by a sudden, inexplicable sense of doom. A wordless cry rises up from the seething shadows, one voice swallowed up by many until the hall resounds with them. The emembers of the procession behind the Chosen melt away in a gust of ethereal wind, extinguished like so many candle flames. There aren't even ashes to indicate they ever existed. The Chosen look to one another in confusion and dread. They can already feel the ties that bind them to Tchernobog fraying. Why? How have we failed you? But there is no answer other than the shattering scream that threatens to tear the universe to shreads. Darkness swells around them, swallows them. Their cold, abandoned souls fall through the abyss. And they burn. Caleb awakens in cold and damp in a body he no longer knows. It has long lain as a corpse that refused to rot, protected from putrefaction by some unearthly link to its master. The pain of protesting muscle and flesh invigorates and awakens him. He welcomes it. It distills his hate into the maelstrom raging in the center of his mind. An agonizing cry breaks out of him, shattering the stone lid of the tomb in which he lies, knocking loose sediment, cobwebs, and the small, unnoticed creatures that have shared his grave with him. A single word rings out through the darkness, echoing Tchernobog's lingering howl: "Why?" ============ THE GAMEPLAY ============ System Requirements ------------------- CPU: Pentium 75MHz or better Memory: 16MB or better Available Hard Disk Space: 80-140MB A working CD-ROM that is at least 4x in speed 100% Sound Blaster compatible sound card VGA Graphics or better Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick(optional) Can run under Windows 95/98 or DOS 6.2 or better. --------------------- 1-2. TECHNICAL INFORMATION<----------------------- ******************************************************************************* *************** 2-1. Characters *************** 1. Caleb -------- The protagonist of the game. Ophelia has been taken hostage and Tchernobog killed him. Now he has rised back from the dead and vow revenge. 2. Ophelia ---------- Caleb's Love. 3. Gabriel ---------- Taken by Shial, Mother of Spiders. Little is known about her. 4. Ishmael ---------- Taken by Cerberus, and who is guarded by the fire-breathing animal. 5. Tchernobog ------------- Antagonist of the game. Killed the 4 Chosen Ones and only one made it back from the dead. ************ 2-2. Weapons ************ (from the manual) 1. Pitchfork ------------ This handy tool can be very effective if you can get close enough to your foes to use it on them. It doesn't need ammo, so you'll always have it to fall back on if you need it. 2. Flare Gun ------------ Capacity: 100 Flares Weapon: 9 Flares Preloaded Box: 8 Flares Fires burning projectiles that lodge easily in flesh and continue to burn for a short period of time. Unless you dive into water, you'll take damage until the flare burns itself out, by which time it may be too late. The alternative fire launcher a starburst flare that douses a large area with flames. Can provide effective crowd control. 3. Sawed-Off Shotgun -------------------- Capacity: 100 Shells Box: 15 Shells Weapon: 8 Shells Preloaded A trusty companion if ever there was one. It doesn't have great range, but it packs a hell of a wallop up close. Can be fired either a barrel at a time or both at once for extra damage. 4. Thompson's Machine Gun(Tommy Gun) ------------------------------------ Capacity: 500 Rounds Drum: 100 Rounds Bullets: 15 Rounds Weapon: 50 Rounds The Tommy Gun is a favorite of the Cabal for its rapid rate of fire and impressive accuracy. On the down side, it chews up ammo quickly. The alternative mode is a strafing attack that covers a wider area with twice as many bullets, which is an effective way to clear out a room. 5. Napalm Launcher(Incinerator) ------------------------------- Capacity: 100 Shots Gasoline Cans: 6 Shots Weapon: 8 Shots This monstrous weapon launcher a huge ball of flaming napalm at an extreme- ly high velocity. If the initial explosion doesn't kill your enemy, the burning probably will. Best used with extreme caution, especially in tight areas. The alt-fire launches several napalm projectiles, covering a wider area but also chewing up a lot more ammo. 6. Dynamite Bundles ------------------- Capacity: 50 Dynamites One at a Time Deal Light one up and chuck it at a group of zombies and you'll be rewarded with red rain and chunks of rotted flesh on the brim of your hat. The longer you hold down the fire button, the farther you'll throw the bundle. Watch the meter on the statue bar to gauge the distance. The primary mode explodes on impact, while the laternative mode will burn all the way down before it explodes, making for some interesting traps. Remote Detonators ----------------- Capacity: 50 One at a Time Deal Remotes work like dynamite bundles, except that you can detonate them at will. You can bounce them off walls or ceilings if you're afraid to peek around a corner. The alternative fire drops a remote at your feet, and you can hit the alt-fire key to place additional remotes without detonating those you've already placed. Proximity Detonators -------------------- Capacity: 50 One at a Time Deal These are by far the nastiest explosives you'll come across. You can scat- ter them around a concern yourself with other matters. As soon as someone steps near one, you'll hear a far-off boom and accompanying shrieks of agony. Use the alt-fire to drop them at your feet. Also, remember where you've dropped proximities or you may fall prey to your own trap. 7. Aerosol Can -------------- Capacity: 288 Can: 48 Hairspray may not seem like the most daunting weapon, but apply it to a cigarette lighter and you've got an instant flamethrower(don't try this at home). While its range is rather limited, its effectiveness is quite impressive. You can also light one up like a Molotov Cocktail and toss it into a group of adversaries. Hit alt-fire a second time after igniting a can to drop it at your feet-it will explode once it burns down. 8. Tesla Cannon --------------- Capacity: 250 Weapon: 64 Charges: 32 This powerful prototype weapon packs a mighty load of amperage. Nikola Tesla would be proud. 9. Life Leech ------------- Capacity: 100 Orbs: 10 Weapon: 15 This artifact draws its power from the life energy of your foes. Run low on ammo and it saps your own strength! 10. Voodoo Doll --------------- Capacity: 100 One at a Time Deal for 100 The power of the voodoo doll is immense, but far subtler than that of a firearm. ************** 2-3. Item List ************** (from the manual) -------------- Health & Armor -------------- Essence - Boosts your health by 20 points, up to 100. Life Seed - Adds 100 points to your health, up to 200 total. Body Armor - Adds 100% body armor. Spirit Armor - Adds 100% spiritual armor, which will absorb damage from the Voodoo Doll and Life Leech. Super Armor - Adds 200 points of body, fire, and spirit armor. Basic Armor - Adds 50% to each type of armor. -------- Powerups -------- Death Mask - Provides temporary invulnerability to all attacks. Note that you are still susceptible to physics, which means a dynamite blast may hurl you off a cliff. Guns Akimbo - Gives you double-fisted killing power with one-handed weapons, such as the shotgun, flare gun, and tommy gun. Reflective Shots - This power-up causes bullets to bounce back at your attackers. You are still susceptible to flates and explosives, so be careful. --------------- Inventory Items --------------- Crystal Ball(Shortcut Key: C) ----------------------------- In single-play, the crystal ball is used to end the current level, but in BloodBath, this powerup enables you to see your enemies regardless of where they are. Cycle through your foes by repeatedly hitting the hotkey or Enter. To deactivate the crystal ball and save it for later, scroll through all opponents and it will turn off. Beast Vision(Shortcut Key: B) ----------------------------- You'll no longer need the fear the creates in the dark. This handy device makes enemies glow in dark places, making you know where they are easier. Doctor's Bag(Shortcut Key: M) ----------------------------- Will restore up to 100 points of health when activated. The unused medicine will remain in your inventory until used up. Keep this item handy! Jump Boots(Shortcut Key: J) --------------------------- Enable you to jump much higher than normal. Useful for those hard to reach places or crossing chasms the easy way. *************** 2-4. Enemy List *************** 1. Rats ------- While not the deadliest of creatures, these little fiends can be quite hazardous if they mob you, which is their preferred mode of attack. 2. Bats ------- Bats have a nasty tendency of getting in your face when you're trying to get a bead on deadlier creatures. Take ccare of them quickly if you know what's good for you. 3. Spiders ---------- Don't be fooled-spiders are dangerous enemies. The little red ones pack a poison that will blur your vision. The larger green ones can blind you completely for a short time. The poison is cumulative, so the more they bite, the worse the side effects. 4. Zombies ---------- Thse hardy undead menaces move more swiftly then you might expect. Take them our before they get close or you'll taste their rusty axe blades. Also, just because they're down doesn't mean they're dead-make sure they're down for the count before you move on. 5. Bloated Butchers ------------------- Slower and more deliberate than their axe-weilding comrades, are much tougher to kill. You'll have to dish out a lot of abuse before they go down. Beware of the foul goo they vomit at you, for it is both corrosive and unpleasant smelling. 6. Cultists ----------- Tchernobog's human soliders are accurate and deadly. Weilding shotguns these robed menaces give you a good fight. They may also lob dynamite at you from time to time, so listen for the telltale hiss and be ready to dive for cover. 7. Fanatics ----------- These Tommy Gun packin' keepers of the dark faith want to spill your precious life blood. Keep your ears tuned for the deadly sounds of dynamite as they sometimes offer explosives instead. 8. Gargoyles ------------ Your first encounter with a gargoyle will teach you to keep an eye turned skyward. They are as tough to kill as they are vicious. They hurl sharp bones at your from afar or swoop in to rake at you with their talons. 9. Stone Gargoyles ------------------ Stone gargoyles are nigh invulnerable. Bullets bounce off their brittle hides and flames find little purchase. You'll have to be resourceful to survive an encounter with one of these monstrosities. 10. Hell Hounds --------------- These fire-breathing mastiffs are swift and deadly. If they get close to you, their powerful jaws will make quick work of you, so keep your distance ... if you can. 11. Bone Eels ------------- Though somewhat timid, bone eels will dart at your the moment you turn your back. They make up in ferocity what they lack in fortitude. 12. Gill Beasts --------------- If you have to face a gill beast in the water, you're in big trouble. While slow and ponderous above water, in their elemnt they are vicious adversaries. 13. Choking Hands ----------------- The corpses that the minions of Tchernobog use to make zombies aren't always in the best of shape. Sometimes, only a limb is salvageable. Usually, the Cabal's surgeons can fashion vaiours bits and pieces into a serviceable undead soldier, but certain leftover parts can be effective all on their own. If one of these horrors get hold of you, you've got tto push it off before you can kill it. 14. Phantasms ------------- These restless phantoms harvest the souls of their victimes with vicious scythes. Because they exist more in the land of the dead than the world of the living, they are only vulnerable when attacking. Watch for them to solidify before striking or your ammo and effort will be wasted. 15. Cheogh ---------- Cheogh rules over all gargoyles, but he has long yearned to hold higher rank in Tchernobog's army. His jealousy toward the Chosen was never kept secret. Now that you have been cast from Tchernobog's graces, envy has boiled into sheer abiding hatred. He will be anxious to meet you again and express his feelings for you. 16. Shial, Mother of Spiders ---------------------------- The spider demon Shial makes her lair deep within the earth in the frozen North. Surrounded by her arachnoid spawn, she skulks through darkness, feeding on those who hapless souls who stumble into her cavernous labyrinth or are brought there by her loyal children. Those who fall victim to her learn of true agony as she digests them alive. 17. Cerberus ------------ Named for the mythical guardian of the gates of Hell, this two-headed firebreathing demon abides in a dark, suiturous den, hidden to the world of mortals. Ferocious and nigh invulnerable, Cerberus is the deadliest adversary you will face aside frm Tchernobog himself. Remember that you must destroy both heads in order to defeat him. 18. Tchernobog -------------- His name is spoken only in whispers, for it is said that his interest is easily roused. Those who peer fully into his smoldering gaze are comdemned to madness and death. You must find him before his powers become complete if you are to stand a chance. Even then, defeating him will require all your strength and ingenuity. **************** 2-5. Hints and Tips ******************* - Strafe and avoid gunfire a lot. Use the crosshair to aim precisely if you have to. That's why it's there .=) - Enemies who have guns have very accurate aiming and can chew your health like no tomorrow. Kill them before they get you. - Never forget what you have in your inventory. Sometimes your health might be low and you were too busy swarming around the environment looking for essences. In your inventory, there is a portable medikit, too, so use that. - Armor can only last for a while. Also, stay away from hostile places, such as ground liquid and flying fireballs that may look like it's coming out of nowhere. Be alert and ready at all times. - Conserve your ammo. Only shoot at what you can hit. Don't waste them. Also, for explosive weapons, don't play around too much with them, because you will never know if a napalm will come back at you or you dumb enough not to know where was the last proximity you placed. Be serious most of the time. There's plenty of ammo as well as enemies. - If you want to exit a level fast for some reason, follow this: Once you get your hands on a key, rush to that door that the key can be used on and don't play around. - Enemies hate each other as much as they hate you. This means that from time to time, enemies might go against each other. Use this to your advantage and don't miss that opportunity. - If the game feels a little too hard for you, try a easier skill level. It always works. Then if you're up for the challenge, go with harder ones. ******************************************************************************* ------------------------->SECTION 3. GAME WALKTHROUGH<------------------------- ******************************************************************************* Game Walkthrough is in progress. This walkthrough will not cover some secrets. Other than that, if you have any questions, suggestions, or corrections, please feel free to e-mail me anytime and I will reply as soon as possible. Also, the walkthrough will cover the game in *Well Done* difficulty. Some enemies I mention may not be there because you are playing in another difficulty other than Well Done. ************************************ 3-1. Episode I: The Way of All Flesh ************************************ ------------------------ Level 1: Cradle to Grave ------------------------ "I live again." As soon as your grave opens and Caleb expressing the quote above, jump out and check the grave to your right for some flares inside. Next, check the round corner on the left for some dynamites inside. Now head forward and open the door. In front of you there are two graves with zombies in them. As you approach, they will come out, so kill them off and check the bush behind you. The green part will come down revealing some body armor in it. Now head down the path and open the gate. Make sure you grab the flare gun and kill all the Zombies and Cultists lying around there. The Cultist right behind the "In Loving Memory" sign should drop a Skull Key which will give you access to the Morgue. So use the key on that door and hear Caleb say, "Open for Business". Enter the Morningside Funeral Home and kill all the Zombies and Cultists here. Check the thing below the "Rest in Pieces" wreath to get some flares inside. Now enter the curtains and play the piano for Beast Vision. Now enter the morgue and kill the Zombies there. To the right below is a crack which contains some body armor inside. Now keep going and kill the Cultist ahead. Blow up the barrel and watch where the explosion goes so you don't get affected by it. Keep going down the morgue and enter the first door on your right. Kill the Cultist inside for the Knife(Dagger) Key. Inside the fire is a life seed. Check the saw in the tools section for a opening to the left revealing some flares. Now head out and keep going down until you see the Dagger Key door. Use the key on it and head through. A Zombie will come out of a grave, so kill it and jump behind the bloody handprint for some flares. Now head out the hole and kill the baddies down there. Once you nail them all, save your game!! Now there is a Super Secret on this level, and I will show you how to obtain it. *********************** HOW TO GET SUPER SECRET *********************** Jump back into the hole. Now face the hole and jump to the wall in front of you. This is one of those "Find the precise spot in order to obtain the secret" kind of secrets. Once you have found the spot, you'll get a Napalm Launcher. The exact spot I believe to have found is the one above the coffin that has a cross pointing toward the wall. ********* THANK YOU ********* Hit the end level switch to end the level. --------------------------------- Level 2: Wrong Side of the Tracks --------------------------------- You start off pretty much where you exited the last level. If you try to obtain the Super Secret now, it wont work as it was meant for the last level. So head through the hole and kill the enemies there. Blow up the barrels in front of the train car to create a gigantic hole with more barrels inside. Blow up those barrels and now you can go through the train. Kill the enemies here and go through the other train car to kill those enemies there. There is a switch on the other side, so hit it and the track should turn. Go through the train and there should be a door to your left. Open the door and go down the stairs. You should be out in the opening with Zombies and Cultists. Kill all of them including the Fanatic there and enter the train station. Kill the enemies in there and enter the Ticket Booth using the back door. One of the Cultists in there gives you a Moon Key when killed. Now enter the Miskatonic Station and kill all the enemies in there. One of the phones is ringing here. It's the first one(don't answer it unless you lie a lot :P). The fourth phone from the left has some basic armor inside. There's also some flares on top of the first phone booth. Now enter "Pickman's Rare Books and Maps" and kill the enemies in there. Check the cash register to lower one of the book- cases in front of you revealing a Doctor's Bag inside. Exit the bookstore and enter "Cask of Amontillado Pub and Grille". There are some enemies in there as well, so clean the place and play the jukebox to hear the clear level noises. Exit the pub and to the left where you came in before are two flights of stairs. Go to the left one(the one under the green flag) and keep going.. Kill the Cultist there and go through the Moon Key door. Kill the Cultists here and grab the Fire Key in front of the bookcase. The room will go dark, and Zombies will be coming left and right, so kill them all and the door will open. Now head to the right stair- case(the one under the blue flag) and kill all the enemies ahead of you. You'll come across a Fire Key gate, so open the gate and enter. Kill the Cultists and Zombies in here as well. You can go into the "No Admittance" room to blow up the crack in there which will lead you to some ammo and back to the bookstore. Once you are done in this place, go back to the "Phantom 666" train. Going down the tunnel will lead you to death. But the exit switch is right on the train, so hit that to end the level. ------------------------ Level 3: Phantom Express ------------------------ The train is moving and you are in front of the poor innocent people the train runs over. Once you are done watching that, go around the train until you see a Cultist. Kill him and you'll see that the door next to you requires a Fire Key. So go to the train car that is opposite the Fire Key door(four Zombies will come up as you approach) and open it. Go through and kill the enemies that are ahead of you and open the door on the other side as all the doors here are locked. Keep going down the train cars, past the Skull Key doors and the crate room. Kill all the enemies so that they don't get in your way later as you come back. When you reach the double doors, be careful as there are a lot of enemies in that room. There is a Skull Key in here as well, so grab it once you nail all of the baddies. You can go to the back of the train to get a Super Armor pick-up. Head back to the first Skull Key door on your left as you come by and open it. Take the lift upstairs and open for a bunch of Zombies and Cultists waiting for you. Kill them all and grab the Fire Key. Go through the other door to kill the baddies in there and take the stairs down to the Kitchen. Kill the mice in here and check every single place, wall, and door for various items. Once you are done, head back to the Fire Key door. On your way back, you will notice that Cultists opens the doors that you previously couldn't open before. Kill them all and blow up the crack inside one of the room to gain access to the higher level. Kill them and there should be a Tommy Gun there. Now go back down to the lower level where there is a fire burning. ********************** OPTIONAL: SUPER SECRET ********************** Face outside the train and jump on the side of the train to your right. You might want to save your game at this point if you are really after this secret. Once you get to the right spot, you can open a secret place with some valuable items inside. ********* THANK YOU ********* Head back to the Fire Key door and open the door. Kill all the Zombies and Fanatics in here. Go to the other end of the train and Caleb will say "I must stop this train." Hit the switch on the wall to disable the safety clamps. Then hit the two switches near the fireplace. Make sure you hit the left one first and wait until the bar goes all the way up before you hit the other one. Once both switches are activated, get out of the room FAST before you get blown up to death. The train will blow up and the level will end in a short while. ---------------------- Level 4: Dark Carnival ---------------------- You'll start the level on the blowned up train. Get out and kill the enemies. Grab any ammunition dropped and head into the hole leading you to the carnival. Now Kill the Cultists down there and the Fanatics across the bridge and cross the bridge yourself. Kill the Cultist inside the ticket booth and head into the Shadow Show. Kill all the Zombies in there and play around the carnival for a while. On the top of the Rotten Candy wagon are some Jump Boots. Use those to jump over the wall opposite of it for a Beast Vision. Play the Target Practice for a Life Seed. Kick the three heads into the mouth for a Invulnerability pick-up. Once you are done collecting those prizes, which are optional, head to the path across the three head mouth game. Kill all the Cultists, Fanatics, and Zombies in this place. Shoot all of the wine bottles in that shooting place for a Invisibility pick-up. Now head into the "Freaks" place and you should see a writing on the wall that says "Seeing is Believing". Keep going down the path and killing all the Zombies that come to you. You'll eventually will reach the Exit. So exit and enter the "Jojo: The Idiot Circus Boy" place and kill all the enemies in there. "I want Jojo. I want Jojo. JOJO!! JOJO!! JOJO!!" Anyways, once all of them are dead, hit the switch for the lift to come down and ride it the way up by hitting the switch again. This time you need to be careful, as you have to cross the wire to get the Dagger(Knife) Key on the other side. Once you have grabbed the key, ride the lift back down and exit the by going through the only closed door in the room. Now turn left, go all the way down until you see the "Test your Strength" sign and turn right. The Dagger Key door is just right there, so open the door and head through. Check the crates for some items and flares inside and then hit the switch to unlock the door. Open the door and get the Eye Key and then head back out. At the far end, there would be a open door with Cultists shooting at you. Kill them off and head for the "Happy Go Pukey" path. The Eye Key door will be just right down there. Open the door and kill all the Gargoyles in there. One of them will give you a Moon Key. Grab it and exit the "Exit" path. Kill all the Fanatics in there and open the door on the other side and head forward where you will see the Moon Key door. Open the door and the bridge will blow up. Kill the Cultists and jump down the water to swim to the other side. Dive up and hit the switch to end the level. ********************************************************** TO GET TO THE SECRET LEVEL: HOUSE OF HORRORS, READ ALONG!! ********************************************************** Do not hit the end switch. Instead swim back to the platform where the bridge blew up before. Step on the steps and blow up the wall on the other side. Now use your jump boots and jump all the way down to that wall and head inside. Dive down the water and dive back up on the other side. Collect the Life Seed and Super Armor and play around with the switches until it reads: Knife(Dagger) - Eye - Moon The level will end shortly after that. Please see Level 8: The House of Horrors for a walkthrough of the secret level. *********** THANK YOU!! *********** ------------------------- Level 5: Hallowed Grounds ------------------------- Grab the TNT and flares as you start the level and go forward. The trees will explode and a couple of Zombies will come and attack you. Take care of them and proceed forward. Head into the Holy Place and kill all the Cultists, Fanatics, and Zombies there. Now there is only one place to go as the rest of the paths are locked. Go to the North and open the door killing whoever is behind it. Open the other door and kill the Cultists. You'll see that the bars require a Skull Key and the door require a Moon Key. You don't have those right now, so keep going forward and open the door to enter a big room. Kill all the baddies in here and proceed into the other room for the Skull Key. The door behind you will lock and the door in front of you will open for a big amount of Zombies inside. Kill them all and enter the door to the right of the Zombies door. Kill ALL the baddies in here and head to the other side of the room for a Napalm Launcher. Once you are done with that room, you can either explore some more or head back to the Skull Key door. I'd say go back to the Skull Key door and open it. Go up the stairs and kill all the baddies in the room. Now head to the other room and head outside. Kill all the baddies out here and go through the door. Kill the baddies in here and pick up the Moon Key. Now one of the columns has a switch on it. Hit it for a secret path. Take the right path and kill anything that moves. Take the lift to the top and pick up the Life Seed(which there is a Gargoyle guarding it) and drop down. Jump to the other side of the room and head down the small corridor for the Spider Key and some Zombies. Kill the Zombies and collect the Spider Key. Now take the lift down(find it!) and kill the baddies down there. Now go back to where you found that Napalm Launcher. To the northeast of that room is a path where you can dive down underwater. Swim to the other side and hit the switch for a path that leads you to a Life Seed and a Zombie. Now swim back to where you entered and Zombies will attack you from the right. Head that way and check the design to make it move. A message will be given to you by Tchernobog and another path will open. Kill the baddies in here and collect the Beast Vision on the right side. You can now exit the left side and head back to where you found those bars blocking the Spider Key doors. The bars will have opened by now to give you access. Save your game. However, you must watch out as this is a trap room and you don't want to get blowned up. You have three choices to make, The left/The middle/The right. You choose. I believe this is random, but I made it choosing the left one. One in three chances say your ass will stay alive. Anyways, once you make the right choice, you can proceed to the bridge and kill the baddies that get in your way. ******************************************** READ ALONG IF YOU WANT TO GET SUPER SECRET!! ******************************************** To get the Super Secret, you MUST have a decent amount of health(let's say about 80%) and some body armor left. Now go to the middle of the bridge and face left. Jump all the way to the wall and you'll be on some ledge. Anyway, check the walls until you find the right spot where the wall comes down leading you to a Life Seed and Super Armor. Hit the two switches on both ends and it will create a teleporter. Step on the teleporter and it will bring you back up to the bridge. ****************** END SUPER SECRET!! ****************** Proceed forward and hit the end level switch on the other side. ------------------------- Level 6: The Great Temple ------------------------- Proceed down the path and Zombies will start to sneak up behind you, so watch out. You'll come to a bridge you cannot jump to with a Cultist up there showing off his Shotgun. Take care of him and jump into the water. Dive down a swim down the path and dive back up for some air or keep going in the north of you still have some diving suit left. When you dive up, head up the path and kill any Cultists and Fanatics that get in your way. You'll eventually reach the bridge you couldn't jump to before. Kill the baddies on the other side of the bridge and hit the switch there to create another path(you'll see it). The bridge will lower and you should jump to the new path and open the door! As you open the door, the two Gargoyle statues will TRANSFORM! Kill them all and keep going down. Pick up the flare gun, and the gasoline cans down the path. Keep going down, killing the Zombies along the way, and the Cultists downstairs. Pick up any ammo they may drop and proceed the path. Kill the Fanatics, Cultists, and Zombies in the next room and open the door in the North. Kill the Cultists and Zombies in the next room and hit the switch for the Guns Akimbo to drop down(which is not that easy to retrieve). Anyways, head down the path across from the Skull Key door to find another room. Kill the baddies in here and open the door to the fireplace. Kill everyone in here and go back to the stairs room. New paths will have opened and Cultists and Zombies will be attacking you, so kill them off and head into the little room. Zombies will come out and once you nail them all, a new path will have opened leading you to the Skull Key. Keep going and kill the enemies at the top and make your way to the Skull Key door. Open the door and follow the path down killing every baddie that get in your way. You will come to a room where a door requires the Fire Key. Anyway, one of the alcoves has a switch. Hit the switch, and then hit the other one on the other alcove and both switches will get your access to the Fire Key. Grab the Fire Key and be ready for the Cultists that appear behind you. Once you kill them all, go to the Fire Key entrance and you'll see that there are many traps here. Find the correct way to cross through and think fast here. Hit the switch on the other side to give yourself a ride down the fire pumping path. Crouch to avoid getting burned. Once you reach the other side, keep going and hit the other Fire Key switch to release some Zombies and Gargoyles. Kill them all and hit the switch to open the door on the other side. Kill the two Fanatics and proceed in the big room. Wipe out the baddies and take the path up to the Spider Key. Grab the Spider Key and the altar will lower. A new path is opened on the opposite end. Kill the Cultists and proceed down another Fire Pumping path. Now the only path is forward, so keep heading that way and kill anything that get in your way. You will eventually come to the Spider Key door, so open the door and go around. Pick up the Moon Key and Zombies will come out. Nail them all and.... ****************************************** READ HERE IF YOU WANT TO GET SUPER SECRET! ****************************************** In the Moon Key place, you can see some clouds. Head to the left wall and simple drop down. You will land on some solid cloud. Check the walls for a room with valuable items inside. There will be a teleporter here that will lead you back to the Moon Key place. ***************** END SUPER SECRET! ***************** Use the Moon Key on the door across the Spider Key door. You will be teleported to a ritual-like room. Grab all the ammo that's available and check the Guns Akimbo column for it to slowly drop. The walls will start spinning. Zombies will be your first visitors, so kill them and head inside to the room they were in and hit the switch in there and immediately step back out. The room will spin again and Cultists will be your next set of enemies. Same procedure, go in - hit the switch - step back out. This will be your last set of enemies. Kill them all and then hit the end level switch at the end to end the level. ----------------------- Level 7: Altar of Stone ----------------------- "Show yourself. SHOW YOURSELF!" Grab all the ammo you need around the octagonal path and then kill any baddies that get in your way. Now get in the middle of the place and wait for Cheogh to show up. Find your own strategy to beat this boss as there are plenty of places to hide. He has a lot of hit points, so be careful. Flares do a decent amount of damage as long as you pump in 20 at a time, and let the Tommy Gun and Shotgun finish the work. Create some angles between you and Cheogh, and you should kill him in no time. Once you beat it, you will be rewarded a nice closing episode cinematic and the episode will end. Congratulations, you have beaten Episode I: The Way of All Flesh! Be prepared for Episode II: Even Death May Die where you will fight the mother of spiders, Shila! --------------------------------------- Level 8: House of Horrors(Secret Level) --------------------------------------- You start the level under a hole. Grab the shotgun and follow the path and kill the two Zombies. Open the gate and enter. Kill all the enemies here and then grab any ammunition or items laying around the vicinity and then head into the House of Horrors. Follow the path and then pay all the Zombies and Cultists some bullets as a ticket fee. Now jump into "The River Ride of Terror" and kill any enemies that get in your way.. You'll see that the gate is locked, so kill the Zombies inside the cage and then kill the Zombie/Fanatic. Then hit the switch for the gate to open and go through. You'll fall and meet some Fanatics, so kill them all and grab any guns they drop for ammo. Now keep heading down the water and eventually you will arrive to "The Super Spine Crusher". Behind the little waterfall is a diving suit, so grab that and head for the sign. You will dive down, so take the path down in the water and keep going, killing any enemies that might have dropped down there. Keep swimming until you reach a flooded control room and hit the switch there. The fireplace has opened as well as another path in the left, so swim there and dive up on the other side. Zombies will be coming for you so watch out. Kill all of the Zombies and you'll see that the door requires you to have the Skull Key. Go upstairs and grab the Skull Key. Go back to the Skull Key door and open it. Over here there are a lot of Cultists, Fanatics, and Zombies. So as you head down the path, kill all of them along the way. The dead end is three barrels. Blow them up, but don't go in the hole as that will bring you where you started the river ride. Instead, open the door you saw back there with the graves and zombies. Go up into the room and kill the baddies there. There is a crack on the wall which if you blow it up will bring you where you started the level in the first place. So, instead of doing that, head out the window and jump over the wall. Kill all the baddies in that place and blow up the
barrels on the other side. Go in there and dive down the water. Keep
swimming and dive up on the other side. You can exit the level or kill
the Gargoyle before doing so.

1. Reviving Yourself After Death
--------------------------------

Usually after death, you would hit the spacebar to start where you last
saved or at the beginning of the level. When you die, you fall. Press
"T" and type in SPORK and you'll be revived with 200% health standing
and back in the fight. This is an alternate way to continue the action
and not lose your place without saving. Of course, it'll require cheating
along the way, but that's no serious problem.

2. Innocent People Can Be Helpful
---------------------------------

Blood is full of naked men running around. Use them for shield and easy
target practice when you're bored. Killing them has no effect on the
level(which means no penalties).

3. Do the Cultists/Fanatics swear/cuss?
---------------------------------------

It's hard to hear what they say sometimes, but often the way I hear
things may not be what it seems(seems like the programmers just modified
their sayings):

"Mothermuck! Parlé!" - Sounds like (you know what) and Parlé in French
                        means "Go!"
